<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Main Event</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Hitomaro Suzuki vs Omezo Shikitei</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The main event saw two men who had been tremendous throughout the tournament meeting up for a war as Suzuki meant to show that Shikitei hadn't earned his place where as Shikitei looked to prove that he was the future, and the future was now. There were several times where it looked like the youngster would tap to the Suzuki Lock, but his resiliance was to be commended, waiting it out and eventually catching him with a surprise KO Knee before putting Suzuki into the STF, which he lasted an impressively long time in before tapping to the Omega.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Omezo Shikitei</p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 5</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Fujio Narahashi vs Edd Stone</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Narahashi hopes to continue his path to redemption, but the undefeated Edd Stone doesn't see his streak ending here as the two men engage, Stone's speed keeping Narahashi off balance for much of the match, The back and forth in the near half hour match is fantastic and the match ends when Stone climbs to the top and leaps to hit his Party's Over, which Narahashi rolls out of the way for, causing Stone to jam his knees as Funakoshi smashes him with a thunderous Lariat Clothesline, picking him up and hitting him with a second for good measure before handing Edd Stone his first loss in SAISHO and moving on to the Semi Final.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>INSPIRE (Kato, Miyake & Nagai) vs The Pride of Lions (Funakoshi, Okamado & Taku)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>As soon as the Pride enter the ring, INSPIRE take the fight to them immidiately, trying to catch their opponents off guard. They force Funakoshi and Okamodo out of the ring, focusing on Taku and isolating him away from his partners. The intensity of the match is impossible to deny as six phenominal competators beat the crap out of one another, but it all came to an end when Okamoto rocked the young lion Miyake with a kick to the head and tagged in Funakoshi, who hit his Butterfly Backbreaker for the win, picking up a microphone and telling Hiroyasu Hakusha that his fate at the A-1 Grand Prix final would be the same.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Funakoshi</p><p>

<strong>Rating:</strong> 65</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 3</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Evil Spirit, JOJI & KAZ vs Mizoguchi, Miki & Sayuki</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>This match ends up highlighting the skills of the youngster JOJI well, giving him a chance to shin after his shaming in GCG. He shows off his full arsonal before getting caught off guard by Mizoguchi clipping his legs and putting him into a boston crab, which KAZ breaks off before sending him back over to their corner. After more intense action Ogai gets wipped to the opposing corner and eats a green mist from Evil Spirit, who tags himself in and puts Ogai down with the Dead Calm Drop II for the pin.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Evil Spirit</p><p>

<strong>Rating:</strong> 49</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 2</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>The Night Terrors vs Akamatsu & Nakazawa</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A match between 2 excellent teams, Torch and Kinji keep the advantage until the Night Terrors are able to swing the momentum when Torch goes out of the ring and Moroi whips him into the steel baricade and then crashes his spine into the side of the ring. The Night Terrors then catch Kinji Akamatsu in the ring with a sleep paralysis for the win.</em></p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Opening Match</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Matsumoto & Serizawa vs The DeColt Pedigree</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Serizawa looks to get a measure of revenge on the red hot DeColts, holding a losing record off of them. Matsumoto, having only just been signed recently, decides he needs to prove himself as well. The back and forth action fairly quickly begins to sway towards the favour of the DeColts, who work fantastically as a team, amd they hit Pull the Trigger on Matsumoto for the win. Inoue asks Aihara if he thinks they would do as well in solo matches, and Aihara mentions we may find out soon enough.</em></p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Main Event</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>SUKI vs Razan Okamoto</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Two of the best in the world meet up for a phenominal main event, as a grudge match between GCG and BCG takes place. The palpaple hatred can be tasted in the air as this is no ordinary match for the two men, the clear intent to retire one another permiating everywhere. Each strike was too stiff, each hold was emphasised, each throw was disturbing to behold. It came to a point where SUKI had set Okamoto up for a Tombstone Piledriver, but Okamoto managed to get out of it, hitting a thunderous Lariat before picking up SUKI and hitting him with the Brainbuster Suplex for the pin and the win to finalize the semi final bracket for the tournament.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Musashi vs Commander Kawagishi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Spotlighting the fantastic talent in Exodus 2010, Musashi and Kawagishi went to war as the last remaining representatives of their company. The action was fast paced and exciting throughout the entire match, really highlighting both men's strengths, and it looked like it could go either way until Musashi got Kawagishi into a clinch and cracked him in the bottom of the chin with a Muay Thai Knee, knocking the man out and putting him away with the pin.</em></p><p>

</strong><strong><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>Match 4</em></span></strong></strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><strong><em>Stone & The DeColts vs Hidekazu, Makioka & Tsubouchi</em></strong></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><em>A more serious Edd Stone than we had seen recently hits the ring, clearly unhappy about his loss to Narahashi. He takes his frustrations out on his opponents, taking the nearly fifty year old Hidekazu out of the action by wrapping his knee around a ring post and then putting him into a submission that made him unable to stand. He would pick him up and throw him out of the ring, before turning his attention to Masao Tsubouchi, hitting a fantastic running knee to the side of his head and hitting an emphatic Party's Over to put the EXODUS star away. The DeColts stay to check on Hidekazu as Stone leaves the ring quickly.</em></strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>Match 3</em></span></strong></strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><strong><em>Suzuki, Kato & KAZ vs Sayuki, Sekozawa & JOJI</em></strong></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><strong><strong>Another intense match that Suzuki and Kato have become known for, the INSPIRE members make an extremely violent display at JOJI's expense, Kato hiting him with a painful looking spinning back eblow before tagging in Suzuki as he and KAZ cleared the others from the ring, Suzuki locking JOJI into the Suzuki Lock. He calls out Sugimura after the match, telling him that he might be out of the A-1 Grand Prix, but that just means he's opened for a shot at that Ride the Tiger championship on that night, setting the match he had earned during the tournament to join the A-1 Grand Prix Final card.</strong></strong><strong><strong>[/i]</strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>

</strong></strong><strong><strong><em>Akamatsu and Nakazawa take on the fairly new team of Hostile Intent, who impress the veteran team with their fantastic chemistry together. Unfortunately the veteran team end up proving to be too much for the INSPIRE members, as young lion Motoyuki Miyake ends up being hit with a beautiful Magma-Driver for the victory.</em></strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>

</strong></strong><strong><strong><em>New signee Stealth Z starts things off in the ring against Serizawa, showing the amazing speed and agility that earned him his contract. The match seemed fairly one sided, until Stealth Z was caught with a double knee and isolated away from his corner. Matsumoto tagged in and got a whip to the opposing corner, eating the Green Mist as Stealth Z tagged in Evil Spirit who hit Matsumoto with the Dead Calm Drop II for the win.</em></strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Main Event</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Omezo Shikitei vs Razan Okamoto</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Omega faces off against the future of BCG in a fairly one sided affair for the most part. Razan Okamoto put on a full showcase of his skills and talents, and to the Omega's credit he did an excellent job of staying in the match until the end, managing to use the ropes to his advantage several times to keep himself in the match. Eventually Okamoto would get him up for his Brainbuster Suplex, pinning him for a very near win, but Shikitei kicked out at the last minute. A frustrated Okamoto went to put Shikitei in the move one more time but the Moega managed to get behind Okamoto and sweep his leg, locking him into an STF in the direct middle of the ring and causing Okamoto to tap out after a stint in the hold. Narahashi enters the ring and walks up to Omezo Shikitei, staring him down as the two finalists of the tournament size one another up.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Omezo Shikitei</p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 5</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Fujio Narahashi vs Musashi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Muay Thai striker Musashi looked to prove that he was the future of Japanese wrestling, but Narahashi had to simply prove to himself that he was good enough. Narahashi's redemption arc continued here tonight as the two men had a fantastically hard hitting affair, Musashi several times hitting Fujio Narahashi with his Muai Thai Knee but Narahashi managing to somehow dig deep and kick out. He would put Musashi away after hitting three thunderous Lariat Clotheslines in a row and pinning him to move to the finals for the second time. He would sit at the commentary table to watch to see who his opponent would be.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Fujio Narahashi</p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 4</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>INSPIRE (Suzuki, Kato & Yakuta) vs Sayuki, KAZ & Sekozawa</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The team of INSPIRE (featuring Oda Yakuta) took the fight to their opponents in their typical fast and hard style, Yakuta clearly the slowest of the three during his tryout for the company. Kato would eventually put KAZ into his Choke Cleeper for the win before he and Suzuki would destroy Yakuta and leave him laying in the middle of the ring, telling him "you failed".</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Morimasa Kato</p><p>

<strong>Rating:</strong> 56</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 3</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>Stone Sober (Stone & JOJI) vs Hostile Intent (Nagai & Miyake)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A retooling of Stone's music hits as "Stone Sober" pops up on the screen, and the newest team in SAISHO makes their entrance. JOJI and Miyake start in the ring, Miyake throwing thunderous blows and JOJI attempting to keep him off of his feet with his high speed arsenal. The two impressed greatly before Miyake tagged in Nagai who began to work over JOJI. JOJI would eventually catch Nagai with a step up enziguri as the two tagged in their partners, Stone taking Miyake down before he and JOJI hit Miyake with tandum flying double stomps, a sickening display that Stone refers to as the Straight Edge after the match is won.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Edd Stone</p><p>

<strong>Rating:</strong> 58</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em>Match 2</em></strong></span></p><p>

<strong><em>The Hurt & Evil Spirit vs The Night Terrors & Mizoguchi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Hurt look to gain some momentum before their title match at the A-1 final, while the Night Terrors look to regain some of their lost momentum. That wouldn't happen, as The Hurt stayed extremely impressive throughout the match, the ending coming when Svensson locked Moroi into the Hyper Extension Arm Lock for the submission win. At the end of the match the DeColts come back down the ramp, telling The Night Terrors that they handed them their first loss in the company, and The DeColts wanted another chance at the veterans. This match would take place as the opener for the A-1.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Nigel Svensson</p><p>

<strong><em>Katou & The DeColts vs Stealth Z , Serizawa & Matsumoto</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Katou teams with the DeColts who are hoping to keep up their winning ways against the young lion team of Stealth Z, Serizawa and Matsumoto. Stealth Z manages to isolate Katou away from his team and he and his teammates work Katou over in their corner. Katou is eventually able to gain some momentum as he hits a double clothesline on Stealth Z and Serizawa and tags in Calvin DeColt. The Canadian makes his way and throws Stealth Z to the ground outside of the ring before focusing his assault on Matsumoto, tagging in his cousin as the two of them hit Pull the Trigger for the win.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Hiroyasu Gakusha vs Funakoshi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>One of the great dream matches in Japan as the ace and World Heavyweight Champion of Golden Canvas Grappling Gakusha takes on the former ace and World Heavyweight Champion of Black Canvas Grappling Funakoshi. <strong><em>Omezo Shikitei vs Fujio Narahashi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The culmination of two amazing stories. Omezo Shikitei came into this tournament without any chance of moving past the first round, but throughout the tournament has proven that The Omega deserves his place here in the final. Fujio Narahashi has challenged for the Destiny Championship twice against his friend Kita and failed, and this may well be his last chance to regain his former position and challenge for the title again. <em>The Hurt managed to get a victory over the tag champs recently and called them out for this opportunity. <em>Edd Stone has stated that he is the future of Pro Wrestling SAISHO and that while Sekozawa may have been their past, people like him need to move out to pasture to allow the future to grow. Sekozawa says that he may have lost a step, but Stone would do well to remember who paved the way for people like him, and that Canada might not care about such things, but in Japan we respect our elders. Sekozawa looks to beat some respect into Edd Stone for his comments.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>The Night Terrors vs The DeColt Pedigree</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A package plays with the clip of the defeat from Puro Reborn to the DeColt Pedigree, before showing highlights of how the young team has done ever since. The young lion team rushes to the ring to a pop from the crowd, everyone starting to get behind the Canadian team as they have been gaining momemtum. The lights go out and the eerie music of the Night Terrors plays, another cheer as the veterans slowly wade their way towards the waiting and hungry lions in the ring. Moroi and Calvin start things out in the ring, DeColt walking up to the veteral and slapping him across the chest before holding his own chest out and beckoning his opponent to strike him as well. They open hand slap and chop at one another until DeColt send Moroi away with the Irish Whip, the Night Terror flooring DeColt with a dropkick off the ropes. Throughout the match the Night Terrors work to their advantage; the air. They atttempt to keep the younger DeColts off of their feet and out of a spot where they can use their brawling skills to their advantage, which leads to Moroi and Babau being able to hit a sleep paralysis on Dylan DeColt who manages to kick out just before three. After the breakup Calvin gets tagged in and nails Babau with his Spinning Back Elbow, tossing him from the ring as Dylan hits a DeColt Driver, his father's finisher, on Moroi. They pick their opponent up off of the mat and in a stunning finish Dylan spears through Moroi's back as Calvin spinning back elbows him in the face, hitting the Pull the Trigger and putting away Moroi for the huge upset victory as the Young Lion team proves themselves in a big way tonight.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Edd Stone vs Torajiro Sekozawa</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Canadian Band Billy Talent's Devil on my Shoulder plays as "The Canadian Sensation" Edd Stone makes his entrance, the youngest brother of the Stone Family looking fired up tonight, his long red and black hair pulled back into a ponytail so he can see properly as he awaits his opponent in the ring. As Sekozawa enters, Stone extends a hand to him, the crowd cheering at the offer as Sekozawa hesitantly clasps him in a handshake. Stone pulls Sekozawa close to him and floors him with a massive lariat to a chorus of boos from the crowd as he begins his systematic dismantelling of the 22 year veteran. Stone was stronger and faster and toyed with Sekozawa for much of the match, using those strengths to his advantage and not allowing the older man to gain any momemtum. Stone manages to back up his words as he takes Sekozawa through the ringer, brutalizing him as the crowd watches on in shock. When he finally hits the Party's Over for the pin it is seen as a mercy, and he spits on the veteran before taking his leave.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>The Diamond Dogs vs The Hurt</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Hurt and The Diamond Dogs square off as Billy Robinson and Motty Kuroda start things off, two of the best tag teams in the company looking to put on an epic match. The Champions start with an early advantage, their blend of ariel moves and solid mat wrestling combining in a fantastic way. The tag chemistry on display was fantastic as they blended sublexes, flips, dives, and holds in ways that only men who intricately knew one another could do. This continued fairly consistantly until Robinson managed to throw Stratosphere into his corner and Svensson got ahold of his right hand, an audible snap being heard in the ring when he broke the champ's middle and pinky fingers. After that the match was dominated by The Hurt, the Europeans disecting the unfortunate Aussie who managed to spend a little too much time in their corner. Robinson and Svensson would pick him up for a double powerbomb, and held him a little too long as Kuroda came in and saved his partner, taking down the Europeans and bringing Strat back for a much needed tag. The war would continue on as momentum would continue to swing back and forth until finally the champs, with some difficulty due to the broken fingers of Stratosphere, were able to nail the Sweep DDT for the pin on Robinson to retain their titles. They would raise the hands of The Hurt after the match, a show of respect towards their opponents who gave them their greatest challenge to date. As they would prepare to leave KAZ would step up the ramp and tell them that their days were numbered and across the screen </em><em><strong>"The Rebel Alliance"</strong></em><em> would flash as </em><em><strong>Eien Miyamoto</strong></em><em> would step up behind his partner and the crowd would explode with the return of one of the brightest stars to ever come out of Pro Wrestling SAISHO. The commentaters mention that Miwa had said they'd be blending the Past with the Future, and this was a great way to do so.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Tobei Sugimura vs Hitomaro Suzuki</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>As the Future of INSPIRE wrestling and The Fighting Champion faced off against one another the crowd anticipation built up. They would shake hands before their match to a huge applause from the crowd and when the bell rang a war ensued between a technical mastermind and a high flying phenom. Suzuki worked to keep Sugimura on the ground as he was able to do in their previous encounter, but Sugimura wouldn't be grounded so easily. Suzuki was mostly focuson on weakening Tobei's arm in preperation for the Suzuki Lock, though with a wrestler like Sugimura as long as he has his legs he is always in the fight. He managed to land a step up enziguri on his challenger to push him into the corner before nailing him with a Missile Dropkick and getting him to the center of the mat for a gorgeous top rope moonsault. Sugimura would go for a second Moonsault, which ended up being a mistake as Suzuki got his legs up and grabbed Sugimura's arm, putting him into a Suzuki Lock and looking to tear his arm out of its socket. The crowd was shocked as Sugimura held on for two minutes in the hold before managing to finally make his way towards the rope and break it up, Suzuki shocked and angry as he kicked the younger man in the side of the headand took him up onto his shoulders, looking for a backbreaker that Sugimura managed to roll out of and counter with his Spinning Wheel Kick, picking up Suzuki and hitting him with a second and third just for good measure before pinning his challenger and putting him away, the Fighting Champion standing tall with his title on his shoulder after a great match.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Omezo Shikitei vs Fujio Narahashi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A video package played showing first Narahashi hoisting the trophy last year followed by his heart breaking losses to Kita, and then both men's journeys to this point throughout the tournament. It highlighted the breaking out of The Omega and the redemption of Narahashi to this point. When the two men met in the ring they shook hands and hugged, a clear show of the respect that they have for one another for getting to this point. Everyone in the building spends the entirety of the match on their feet as from bell to bell there is no stoppage in the action. Neither man is willing to waver in their resolve and both need to achieve their goals. A difficult match to summerize as the entire match was full of highlights, a few of the most impressive spots of the match included when Narahashi put Shikitei on his shoulders for a disturbing looking Go To Sleep, smashing Shikitei's nose in the process and causing a massive pop when Shikitei managed to kick out. Shikitei would later hit Narahashi with a Bamaye and instead of pinning him he would go for the STF, preying on the weakened head and neck after the strike, which Narahashi would manage to break out of using his brute strength to the shock of Shikitei. Both men would catch one another with a lariat, causing them to both collapse in the center of the ring, causing a count of ten which both men would make it up from. They would exchange chops, elbows and headbutts in the middle of the ring, Narahashi finally catching Shikitei with a headbutt that would seemingly stun him. He would go for a Lariat which Shikitei would counter into a Cross Armbreaker, Narahahsi using his strength to not only break the hold, but pick up Shikitei and hit him with a Tombstone Piledriver. He would then pick Shikitei up off of the ground and finally put him away with a thunderous Clothesline Lariat for the pin and the win. After the match Mito Miwa would present the 2 time A-1 Grand Prix winner with his trophy, and Narahashi would tell Shikitei that when he won the Destiny Championship Shikitei would be the first to challenge him.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Hiroyasu Gakusha vs Funakoshi</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>There is no time for the crowd to cool off after the amazing match that had just happened, as the main event began. Funakoshi made his way to the ring to a massive applause, no frills for his entrance as he stared down the ramp awaiting one of the men whom he had been compared to his entire career due to their company rivalries. When the music hit and Hiroyasu Gakusha made his way onto the ramp, the entire crowd lost their minds. He proudly displayed the Golden Canvas Grappling World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, before removing it and handing it to the referee. Mito Miwa would enter the ring and hold up the Modern Japan World Championship, shaking both men's hands and wishing them good luck as Watanabe did his checks before getting out of the way of the two terrifying heavyweight competators.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

There was nothing flashy about this match, nothing particularly pretty, but fans of Puroresu and wrestling fans around the world wouldn't be able to help but admire the match that these two crafted as they beat the ever living hell out of one another. The brutality and technical precision on display from both men was simply insane as two men who clearly hated what the other stood for put on a brutal match. One excellent moment was watching as Gakusha hit five consecutive German Suplexes, never letting go of Funakashi's waist the entire time as the fifth one he bridged for the pinfall attempt, which Funakoshi managed to kick out of. Funakoshi, refusing to be outdone, would hit a trio of tremendous Lariat's, keeping hold of the wrist and bringing Gakusha back up for his Butterfly Backbreaker, which Gakusha would break with a massive headbutt and by getting behind Funakoshi and throwing him across the ring. Funakoshi would connect with his Butterfly Backbreaker, leading into the nearest end of the match as Gakusha managed to kick out at 2.9, Funakoshi bringing him up to hit it one more time to put away the veteran, but Gakusha wouldn't be caught again. He countered and stunned Funakoshi with a kick to the jaw, before picking up Funakoshi high above his head and flooring him with the Gakusha Golden Bomb for the pinfall victory. Miwa would present him with his two title belts, which Gakusha would hold high above his head before rolling out of the ring and making his way to the back. </em></p><p>

The names that we have chosen for this tournament are men from all over the world, some of whom have never set foot in a PW SAISHO ring before! The two pools will be as follows:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pool A</span></strong></p><p>

-Azumamaro Shimizu</p><p>

-Dylan DeColt</p><p>

-MUSCLE Serizawa</p><p>

-Kyuichi Matsumoto</p><p>

-Shuzo Utagawa</p><p>

-Monkey Maraguchi</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pool B</span></strong></p><p>

-Gidayu Katou</p><p>

-Motoyuki Miyake</p><p>

-Danjuro Kikuchi</p><p>

-Midnight Tiger</p><p>

-Logan Wolfsbaine</p><p> </p><p>

In other exciting news, our main event for SAISHO: Call of Destiny is officially set as, for the third time, Azumamaro Kita will defend his SAISHO Destiny championship against Fujio Narahashi. The Diamond Dogs have also agreed to defend their titles against the returning team of KAZ and Eien Miyamoto, aka The Rebel Alliance. The card will be updated with more matches as the event approaches, but in the meantime this is what I have for you!</p><p> </p><p>

I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you when we stop in Matsumoto Hall to start off this monumental tournament!</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Solid visual presentation, great match narratives, long term booking/storytelling, frequent updates... this diary has it all! I know I'm certainly nominating and voting this one for May's DotM <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Maeda's protege versus the ace of his current promotion was a great main event and I also enjoyed the tournament finals. Never saw Shikitei making it that far, but it was a great way to highlight his growth away from being a young lion (plus he's a great hand for performance-heavy promotions) and Narahashi winning makes up for his title loss to Kita earlier this year. Sugimura vs Suzuki is a dream match I never knew I wanted to see but I'm glad I did and Edd Stone's antics and victory over the veteran were a great way to highlight his personality in a product with close to no angles. Also, I'm pretty sure someone asked before or you've pointed it out, but those DeColt boys are not canon to the default CVerse, right?</p><p> </p><p>

Here's to a great Young Lion G1 tournament! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Young Lion Classic day 1 predictions</p><p>

<strong>INSPIRE (Suzuki, Nagai & Kato)</strong> vs Torii, Mizoguchi & Sekozawa</p><p>

<strong>Got a soft spot for both Suzuki and Kato</strong></p><p>

<strong>Stone Sober (Edd Stone & JOJI)</strong> vs Akamatsu & Nakazawa</p><p>

<strong>Both great workers, plus Stone still needs to cement himself as the most despised gaijin</strong></p><p>

The Legion (Isamu Kijmuta & Tobei Sugimura) vs <strong>The Revengers (Musashi & Japanese Phoenix)</strong></p><p>

<strong>Love both Sugimura and Musashi, so this was a tough choice. Given the Diamond Dogs' high flying style and fresh clash with a ground based duo in the Hurt, I'm thinking the Revengers are the best pick to slowly build up to a title contendership</strong></p><p>

<strong>Dylan DeColt</strong> vs Azumamaro Shimizu</p><p>

<strong>Dylan is my favourite to win the entire block. Could see a sibling match in the finals or, more likely, Dylan vs Miyake in a classic 'local vs gaijin' setup</strong></p><p>

<strong>MUSCLE Serizawa</strong> vs Monkey Maraguchi</p><p>

<strong>Think Serizawa is a better worker and better fit for the product</strong></p><p>

Kyuchi Matsumoto vs <strong>Shuzo Utagawa</strong></p><p>

<strong>Tough call, but in my saves Utagawa usually is better than Matsumoto and develops faster than him</strong></p>

I loved booking up to the final of that tournament with the redemption arc in mind and Shikitei's growth. He was putting on ridiculously good performances by the end of it. Taking them from CV97 is a very clever idea. I like the names Calvin and Dylan too!! For me, the DeColt and Stone dynasties HAVE to continue in a big way in TEW'19. I know we have David Stone debuting in March 2019, but there needs to be more. I think in this day and age, they would go to Japan to learn too. Hoping to see more behind the scenes stuff with Alex and Steve :) But it's your diary, do what you want :D Haha

"Winners: Calvin & Dylan DeColt

Finish: Pull the Trigger (Spear/Spinning Back Elbow combo) on Moroi for the pin.

Rating: 51"

That must take incredible timing but would look amazing!!

I just wanted to pop on here and congratulate you on the diary in general. The presentation is so slick and precise. It might have been you, but I saw a diary with those shadows around the boxes a few weeks ago and stole the code :D As for the characters you have so far, I really like Narahashi, The Night Terrors, and have always been a fan of Billy and Nigel! :D Love anyone from the British scene. Especially if they worked for ROF!! Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much for the comment! I'm not going to lie, I also stole the box shadow code (I think it was an EXODUS Diary that the visuals just looked so great). The Hurt are such a fun team and I am planning on giving them a much bigger push down the line, so far they haven't had much of a chance to shine. And expect more interaction between the DeColts (Steve and Calvin haven't had a chat yet...and what do you think would happen if Steve and Alex went to see their boys together? Oh man it's exciting!) I'll also be trying to steal David Stone over to Japan if he can work there like the rest of his family when they were young. Far down the line I might do the unthinkable and get women wrestling for SAISHO and pull Lucy Stone-McFly as well...but that's what, 4 years until she debuts?

Pull the Trigger is beautiful in my head. I have this idea that Steve drilled the timing of it into them since he was the technical master of the family and wanted them, as his students, to carry his lineage well. A badly timed move like that would probably just get Calvin hurt!

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Alex: Christ...why are you calling me Steve?

The stress was clearly getting to Alex DeColt as he sat behind his desk in Victoria at "Canadian Golden Combat headquarters" which had recently become his office at home. He was starting to look slim as he hadn't been eating properly and his hair was a mess. The company had been going downhill recently and since Ricky (DeColt) had left he had to rely on Jack (DeColt) and the older men on the roster more to put in the work every week. The last thing he wanted to see was a call form his older brother at this point. The pair had only spoken once in the past seven years, and it was when he had told Alex that he had been secretly training his son and wanted him to go work in Japan with Steve's boy and...Edd Stone...

Steve: Look Alex, I know you probably don't want to hear from me. I am not super thrilled about this entire situation either.

Alex: Well maybe you shouldn't have sent the boys to Japan. If you'd kept them here we wouldn't have ever had to talk.

Steve: Come on Alex. You knew we couldn't ignore one another forever. We're family after all.

Alex let out a deep sigh and looked at the "End Call" button, considering thumbing over it and ending this now. The only reason he hadn't was due to being worried that this call might have to do with his son.

Alex: What do you want Steve? Why are you calling me? I'm pretty busy running Dad's company...you know, the one you left behind?

He could hear the sigh on the other end of the phone and knew that the comment might have been a bit uncalled for, but in reality Alex simply didn't care. It's not like the comment was untrue.

Steve: It hasn't been Dad's company in a long time, and you know it. Besides, I'm calling about something a hell of a lot more important than that...Have you been following SAISHO?

A scowl crossed Alex's face. He had been quite busy recently, but he had still managed to catch the occasional highlights from the Japanese company. The boys had been doing fairly well, especially for "Young Lions". They had been putting on good matches, and their team finisher was just as impressive, if not more, than his and Steve's had originally been.

Alex: Here and there. It's tough when all you have to go off of are bad cellphone videos...they really need to look into getting a streaming service or something. You'd think Miwa would want the exposure.

Steve chuckled a bit at the comment. Alex even managed a smile. It had been a long while since he had made his brother laugh.

Steve: Isn't that the truth? Miwa announced a Young Lion tournament. Cal and Dylan are both taking part in it in opposite pools...End of the tournament happens at the end of March...

Alex cocked an eyebrow. He glanced at his calander, noting wrestleFestival at the end of the month.

Alex: And?

Steve: And? I'm going to be there. If one or both of the boys ends up in the final, I'm going to support them. They're my students after all...and they're our kids. You should go too. Cal and Dylan especially would appreciate it I'm sure...

Alex: Look Steve. You might not remember this, but that's WrestleFestival. I can't just leave. And I'm not going overseas to watch a minor wrestling event, especially not with you! I'm not ready or willing to forgive you for what you did! Stop calling me!

He hung up before Steve had a chance to get another word in and put his hands over his face, looking through his fingers at the calander again and sighing once more. It just had to line up with WrestleFestival. He shook his head and opened up his laptop, typing "SAISHO" into google and looking for Miwa's announcement...

Main Event

INSPIRE (Suzuki, Nagai & Kato) vs Torii, Mizoguchi & Sekozawa

The men of INSPIRE took the fight to their opponents, isolating Torii from his corner and attempting to destroy the man they considered an outsider. The match was an impressively technical affair, all six men getting out of it looking good over the twenty minutes until Morimasa Kato was able to isolate Mizoguchi from his corner and put him in a Choke Sleeper for the submission victory.

Winner: Morimasa Kato

Rating: 61

Match 5

Stone Sober (Edd Stone & JOJI) vs Akamatsu & Nakazawa

The Canadian Sensation looked to keep his momentum going, the two youngsters continuing on their mission to take the old guard out of the way so the future might shine. Akamatsu and Nakazawa did what they could to keep their opponents reeling, but Stone and JOJI proved to be too much for them, hitting the Straigh Edge on Akamatsu which Stone followed up with a Party's Over to put him away.

Winner: Edd Stone

Rating: 54

Match 4

The Legion (Isamu Kijmuta & Tobei Sugimura) vs The Revengers (Musashi & Japanese Phoenix)

In an excellent matchup that Exodus fans had seen several times but SAISHO faithful were experiencing for the first time, two excellent teams faced off. Musashi and Phoenix managed to ground the flyers for the most part, focusing their assault on Kijmuta and keeping him isolated from his corner. Phoenix eventually went for a Phoenix Splash, which Kijmuta countered and made his way over to his corner for the tag. The Ride the Tiger champion began to work over Phoenix and when he went to tag his partner back in, Phoenix managed to floor both of them, hitting Kijmuta with the Phoenix Splash and bringing in Musashi who finished the match with a thunderous Muay Thai Knee, breaking Kihmuta's nose in the process and pinning him for the win.

Winner: Musashi

Rating: 57

Match 3

Dylan DeColt vs Azumamaro Shimizu

A great match between the charismatic brawler DeColt and the solid technician Shimizu. DeColt proved that he is a star between the ropes and although he isn't as polished as his opponent, Shimizu's knowledge and skill made sure that they both looked like stars. The match ended as Shimizu attempted to roll over DeColt for the Boston Crab, but DeColt managed to get out of it and put Shimizu down with his father's DeColt Driver instead.

Winner: Dylan DeColt

Rating: 44

Match 2

MUSCLE Serizawa vs Monkey Maraguchi

One of the first men on the roster to truly be able to stand out in the tournament, MUSCLE Serizawa put on a clinic against Maraguchi, keeping him grounded for much of the match and hsing thunderous chops and kicks to punish the smaller man. Serizawa proved that he could be a potential future star and put the icing on the cake when he nailed Maraguchi with a massive Lariat to put him away.

Winner: MUSCLE Serizawa

Rating: 31

Opening Match

Kyuchi Matsumoto vs Shuzo Utagawa

Nothing flashy happened in a match between two mat based wrestlers, Shuzo working over Matsumoto's legs and back as Matsumoto worked to set up his powerbomb, softening up the torso and neck. The young lions put on a decent showing, with the match ending when Utagawa managed to roll Matsumoto into the Boston Crab for a submission victory to gain the first 2 points of the tournament.

Winner: Shuzo Utagawa

Rating: 33

An Alex and Steve DeColt narrative? What is this, The Lloyd writing out stuff? :D

Let's see if I can get another clean sweep...

Funakoshi & Shikitei vs SUKI & KAZ

If one man in Japan deserves to be pushed to the moon, it's Funakoshi

The Night Terrors vs The Hurt

Night Terrors have been booked strong, but the Hurt are better workers and need to bounce back from their title loss

Evil Spirit, Smooth & Mochin vs Stone, Whitlock & Stealth Z

All star trio there

Calvin DeColt vs Gidayu Katou

Calvin catches up with Dylan

Logan Wolfsbaine vs Motoyuki Miyake

Toughest of tough calls, hope it's a draw to set up a dramatic block finale

Danjuro Kikuchi vs Midnight Tiger

Not that familiar with Tiger, but I'm guessing Kikuchi fits the product better

He pummeled the unfortunate Brit, crushing him with a variety of strikes and holds before hitting him with the Party's Over for the win to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Walking past the announcer table to leave he picked up a microphone and in English (and then broken Japanese) told everyone there that he was the uncrowned King of SAISHO, and they would all be in his Kingdom soon enough.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Calvin DeColt vs Gidayu Katou</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>DeColt and Katou had no interest in being overshadowed by the previous bout and the two excellent workers had an all out brawl between the rings, the match highlighted by thunderous chops, slaps, headbutts and kicks. At one point Katou had managed to hit DeColt with a Lariat, flooring him and going to pick him back up, instead of pinning him. As he went for another, DeColt managed to hook the arm with his own, elbowing Katou in the head instead. DeColt would eventually gain the momentum and catch Katou with a DeColt .45 super kick stunning him before nailing him with a spinning back elbow to pick up the pin and the win.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Logan Wolfsbaine vs Motoyuki Miyake</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>There was no doubt in the mind of the onlookers that these two men were future stars in the making. The amateur wrestling skills of Wolfsbaine matched nicely against the striking and submission prowess of Miyake, whom even at his age had been touted as the future of Puroresu and someone whom the big companies would be watching out for. Wolfsbaine countered a lariat into an armdrag and an whipped Miyake, catching him into a nasty scoopslam and then picking him back up for a backbreaker. He brought Miyake up to hit him with a German Suplex, but Miyake caught him in the jaw with a thunderous elbow, stunning the American and nailing him in the side of the head with a Knock Out Kick, putting him down on the mat for the pin.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Danjuro Kikuchi vs Midnight Tiger</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>These two men make their debut in the company, looking to impress. The masked Midnight Tiger takes to the air to try to catch Kikuchi off, the masked wrestler showing off impressive agility as he walked the ropes all the way around the ring, kicking his opponent in the head at each corner before junping off and hitting him with a hurricanrana, or at least attempting too. Kikuchi caught him as he was in position for the rana and smashed his spine to the mat, and proceeded to pummel the high flyer, focusing an assault on his lower back before slapping him into a Boston Crab for the submission victory.</em></p><p>
