McDaniel seems to be getting the better of Flair in what appears to have been a very physical battle when referee Earl Hebner is knocked to the ground. The fans explode as Magnum ditches to the outside and wakes up the referee as a stunned Flair realizes what’s happened and applies the figure four. Hebner wakes up and sees McDaniel submitting and calls for the bell. Tony Schiavone opens the show and after the hellos he welcomes the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes says he’s been watching the dirty Russians running roughshod and now they’re targeting the NWA World Champion Ric Flair. Well, he has no great love for Flair but he’ll take an American over a commie anyday, Daddy! So if the Nature Boy is willing, the Dream says he has a plan for the Great American Bash and all he has to do is shake Dusty’s hand.

Rick Rude vs Mike Graham

Rude dominates Graham from the beginning to the end, though Graham seems distracted during the match. After some playing to the crowd a Rude Awakening ends the match.

Tully Blanchard and Bobby Heenan come out to the interview area both dressed to the nines. Blanchard cuts off Crockett as he asks about Ricky Steamboat and says Steamboat had it coming for disrespecting the Executive Director of Tully Blanchard Enterprises. He says Heenan approached him with respect and he got insulted in return so yes, he taught Steamboat a lesson and we won’t be seeing…..

Suddenly an irate Ricky Steamboat enters the scene and tackles Blanchard. They’re brawling on the floor and Steamboat is quickly getting the better of it. Heenan hits Steamboat in the back which only further angers him. Steamboat grabs Heenan by the jacket and flings him over the desk. Blanchard uses this time to scurry away, leaving his man behind.

Steamboat, breathing deeply and still angry, is approached by Crockett. Ricky says that at the Great American Bash he will be the one teaching the lessons and he is the one who will be taking home that NWA Television Championship!

Rock n Roll Express vs Dennis Stamp and Robert Fuller

The Express, for lack of a better term are rocking and rolling in this one, showing off seamless tag action and they end it with a double dropkick on Stamp.

Ricky and Robert join Tony in the interview area. They say the Andersons may scare a lot of people but they don’t fear any men. They’re rough and tough but when that double dropkick hits it’s lights out. Rock n’ Roll forever!

Magnum T.A. vs Buddy Landel

A good match but Magnum is laser focused and though Landel manages to avoid it once he can’t sidestep the belly to belly twice.

Magnum joins David Crockett at the desk with a small duffle bag in hand. He says that he’s given Wahoo McDaniel time to be a man and accept the challenge so now he has to change gears. He can’t target the honor of a man with no honor so now he challenges the stubborn indian pride. Magnum pulls out a brown leather strap from the bag. He says that he challenges Wahoo to an Indian Strap match at the Great American Bash and if he doesn’t accept he’ll find him where he’s hiding and he’ll whip him anyways!

Tony Shiavone opens the show in the ring.

“Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Mario Morales Coliseum! Tonight you’re in store for an awesome night of professional wrestling. We’ll see Kimala take on the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez. In addition we’ll have Randy Savage versus Dick Slater. And of course the NWA World Champion Nature Boy Ric Flair will be here.. Sit back and relax because tonight Jim Crockett Promotions and the National Wrestling Alliance are in the house!”

Ten Man Battle Royal

The show opens with a ten man battle royal including local talent Al Madril, Hercules Ayala, and Jose Gonzalez. One by one participants end up over the top rope until it is down to Magnum and Michael Hayes. They put on a good couple minutes of one on one action with both men nearly eliminated until the end which sees Magnum near the ropes and when Hayes charges him, Magnum belly to belly suplexes him over the top to the floor.

Winner: Magnum TA:

Magnum gets his hand raised by the referee as the crowd cheers. On the outside a dejected looking Hayes stares angrily.

Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah the Butcher

A local attraction, these two monsters go to war as soon as the bell rings and it quickly becomes pure chaos. Within minutes of exploding to the outside both men are bleeding and Abdullah’s renowned fork makes an appearance to the crowd’s delight. The referee continues to count as Brody sends Abdullah into the ring post before tackling him and soon they reach the ten count.

No Contest: Double Countout

To the crowd’s delight Brody and Abdullah continue brawling through the crowd and out of sight.

Rock n Roll Express vs The Sheepherders

The Sheepherders control the match early and are just brutal in their offense, battering both members of the RnR but Ricky Morton makes a comeback and dives to make the hot tag to Gibson. Gibson is on fire but is doused a few moments later when Butch Miller lands a knee to the kidney as he bounds off the ropes. The Sheepherders retake the momentum and get several close pinfall attempts but the crowd comes alive to support the RnR and when Morton gets a second chance he makes it count and with Miller sent to the outside they hit the double dropkick on Luke Williams for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: The Rock n Roll Express

Kimala w/Gary Hart vs Manny Fernndez

Kimala is a brute but the Raging Bull backs down from no man and these two have a very competitive match that sees Fernandez stun the Ugandan Giant several times with his power but Kimala is never off his feet. When Fernandez begins signaling for his patented flying forearm Gary Hart begins climbing up on the apron. Fernandez allows his attention to be diverted and pays the price as Kimala blindsides him from behind and splashes him in the corner. Kimala follows it with a running splash for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Kimala

Kimala will not get off Fernandez and the latter is screaming as Kimala appears to be biting him. The referee complains to Hart who begins to pry his man off and when Kimala finally relents blood is running down his chin. The sight of the blood whips the crowd into a frenzy as the referee immediately applies a black towel to the back of Fernandez’s neck.

Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Starship Coyote vs The Andersons and Tully Blanchard w/Bobby Heenan

Steamboat plays the sacrificial lamb as Blanchard and the Andersons keep him cut off from his side of the ring but Coyote gets the tag and begins showing off his power with successive press slams of Blanchard and Arn before Ole clips his knee and tries to take over but Dusty makes the blind tag and goes to town on Ole, giving all the heels a Bionic Elbow before Steamboat gets the tag and flies off the top with a cross body on Tully for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Starship Coyote

The babyfaces celebrate in the ring as the crowd goes wild. Heenan climbs to the apron to complain and gets decked by Steamboat for his troubles which the crowd loves even more.

Randy Savage vs Dick Slater

These two are at war from the opening bell and the crowd is into it as they trade the momentum back and forth. Slater seems to be building toward giving Savage his first loss in a JCP ring when Savage turns it up a notch and uses a flurry of energetic offense and high flying to stun Slater and put him on his back. Savage climbs to the top and hits the big elbow for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Randy Savage

Ric Flair comes out to the ring in full robe attire and says that he came to Puerto Rico to fight, but the man he was supposed to fight, Carlos Colon, has chickened out but he’s not leaving until he gets a fight. There is a lot of murmuring in the crowd as Flair begins to taunt them a little about no one being brave enough to face him before settling on a good looking lady in the front row. Flair asks her if she’s ever even been with a real man on this island and if she’d like to spend the night with the Nature Boy. The man sitting to her side is not enjoying this at all and begins jawing with Flair.

Security approaches but Flair waves them off and tells them to let the kid into the ring. Flair goes face to face with the young man and asks him if he’s ready to go one on one with the World Champion. The man nods and Flair chuckles and says he wants to know the man of the man he’s about to embarrass in front of all these people and the answer is clear. Gino Hernandez. Flair backs off to his corner and hands the microphone off to the referee as his impromptu opponent takes off his shirt and appears to be ready to wrestle in a pair of running pants as the bell rings.

Flair is not taking this guy seriously, spending time in the early moments to sweet talk the woman Hernandez with but that changes when Flair is spun around and knocked on his rear with a right hand. Now the champ looks serious and the two of them tear into each other for nearly twenty minutes. Half way through Hernandez is on fire and has the champ begging off which lures him into a blatant eye poke. Flair begins working on Gino’s leg but the young man keeps fighting even when it seems he can’t stand. Flair goes for the jugular, hitting a knee breaker then slapping on the figure four. Hernandez fights with all he has to get to the ropes but he taps just inches away.

Winner by Submission and still NWA World Champion: Ric Flair:

As Flair watches, Hernandez forces himself to his feet. Flair walks over and helps steady him before exchanging a hand shake and raising Hernandez’s hand to the roar of the crowd.

Tony Schiavone and David Crockett welcome us to the show but before they get very far the United States Champion Wahoo McDaniel comes out. He says some people aren’t very smart. Some people don’t know when reality is slapping them in the face. Some people won’t be satisfied until their career is ended. Well Magnum T.A. has gotten the attention of this stubborn indian and this Sunday at the Great American Bash he is going to learn what it feels like to have a leather strap peel away layers of his skin over and over. He’s going to learn why you don’t call out the toughest man in professional wrestling. This Sunday, Magnum T.A. is a dead man!

Nikita Koloff and Krusher Khruschev w/Ivan Koloff vs The Mulkey Brothers

The Mulkeys are new additions to JCP and they’re welcomed by the Russians with a beatdown of epic proportions. As one might expect, it’ a lot of power moves and when Ivan demands an ending it comes via Russian Sickle.

Paul Jones and the Barbarian are out at the interview area with David Crockett. Jones is ranting about the cowardice of Billy Graham when the Superstar approaches.

He says the Superstar is no coward but Jones is. Graham says he wants to accomplish one more thing in his storied career and that is, end the scourge of Paul Jones so he has a proposal. This Sunday he wants the Barbarian one last time. If he loses he will retire but if he wins the Barbarian is gone...and so is Paul Jones! Jones suddenly is stammering and Graham asks him who the coward is now. Jones steels himself and agrees and the Superstar walks away smiling as Jones looks furious...and worried.

Dutch Mantell vs Jerry Stubbs

A solid back and forth, slow paced match. Mantell gets the win thanks to a running knee out of the Tree of Woe.

A video is shown labeled ‘Earlier Today’ in which we see the Andersons arriving at the building while a young wrestler is listening to some rock music in the parking lot. They begin to walk past before quickly doubling back and attacking the man. They double team him and overwhelm him quickly before slamming his head into a car and smashing his radio. As they walk away Ole mumbles how he hates rock and roll.

Bob Caudle is out here inviting us to join him next week for the debut of the newest show here on TBS. Next Sunday will be the premiere episode of NWA World Wide Wrestling. He mentions we’ll see top talent from all over the National Wrestling Alliance.

Tommy Rich vs Rick Rude

These two show some chemistry in the matchup and trade the offense a few times. When Rude goes for his Rude Awakening Rich reverses it into a belly to back suplex with a bridge for the win.

The Nature Boy Ric Flair comes out and asks Tony Schiavone to leave the desk because he wants to talk one on one to the Russians who he knows are watching. Flair says they’ve succeeded because now when he steps out of the limo, when he’s checking into the five star hotels, when he’s getting tailored for a five thousand dollar suit he’s looking over his shoulder. But when you carry around this ten pounds of gold that is the life you live. That is the life you’ve signed up for. And now it’s their turn to look over their shoulders because Flair refuses to live in fear. Before he can continue he’s joined at the desk.

Rhodes says he was listening backstage and he’s happy to hear that Flair wants to fight but daddy, three on one ain’t no way to fight. Flair is the world’s champ and he’s a great wrestler but you’re talking about three big tough communist monsters and the only thing tougher than the red menace is the red white and blue baby. So right now, Dusty is offering his hand and he will fight with Ric Flair and they will end this at the Great American Bash because some things are bigger than personal animosity.

Flair considers and then shakes Rhodes’ hand. Off screen Tony Schiavone reminds us the Great American Bash is this Sunday!

Morton is selling for all he’s worth and eventually makes the tag to Robert Gibson but the referee was distracted and forces Gibson back to the corner allowing the Andersons to drag Morton back across the ring. Morton takes several more minutes of punishment before he makes a legit tag and Gibson is a dropkick machine, knocking Arn out of the ring and then continuing with Ole. The challengers gain the momentum and work seamlessly the next several minutes getting a few close falls but when they hit the double dropkick it appears to be over. 1…… 2….. Arn has put Ole’s foot on the bottom rope…. 3!!!! The Rock and Roll Express are ecstatic as they celebrate and the crowd explodes but Arn is yelling at the referee who sees the foot and begins waving his arms to call off the finish. Arn slides in and spins Robert Gibson around before hitting a DDT and putting Ole on top of him. Arn then begins brawling with Ricky Morton as the referee counts to three. Rhodes and Ivan follow him in and now it's a five man brawl. The referee is giving them all a lot of leeway and when Ivan and Dusty begin squaring off Flair doesn’t see Nikita coming with the sickle but at the last second he does and when he moves Nikita hits Krusher. Flair hits the low blow on Nikita and dumps him to the outside before locking on the Figure Four on Khruschev. Dusty hits a running elbow drop on him as well as he’s writhing in pain. With Rhodes keeping the Koloffs in check, Khruschev finally taps. Tony Schiavone and David Crockett welcome us to the show. They hype we’ll see Dick Slater, the Irwins in tag action, and the dangerous Kimala along with his manager Gary Hart. We’ll also see the American Dream Dusty Rhodes and NWA World Television Champion Tully Blanchard.

Dick Slater vs Joe Malenko

A good back and forth match with Malenko using more technical skills and Slater mostly brawling. Slater takes control halfway through and secures the win with a swinging neckbreaker.

David Crockett reminds us that tomorrow is the debut of NWA World Wide Wrestling here on TBS. Before he gets much further into it Starship Coyote walks up to him but seems not to be in character. He asks to talk to Crockett who looks momentarily confused before sending us to a commercial break.

Dusty Rhodes comes out to the interview area. He says that the Great American Bash was closing one chapter of the book and now he’s turning the page. That means making 1985 the year of the Dream. Dusty stops as James J. Dillon approaches with Black Bart.

Dillon says he’s always been a big fan of Dusty and he’s a true great in the history of the sport but it’s time to be honest. 1985 will be the year of Dillon and Bart and uh.., um….oh yea, Ron Bass.

Bass blasts Rhodes from behind and Bart jumps in. The two of them batter Rhodes down to his knees and hold him for Dillon to take some cheap shot punches. The Rock and Roll Express run into the picture and the heels all run away. Rhodes looks shaken and hurt as we go to the ring.

The Irwins vs Ted Oates and Terry Daniels

The Irwins control the match from start to finish with Bill using his speed and his brother Scott using his size and power. Once they’ve beat up both opponents they focus on Daniels and end him with a press splash when Scott picks up Bill in a military press and drops him on Daniels.

A video plays of the NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard leaning on a black Ferrari with his arms folded. He says that everywhere he goes people applaud him for putting that phony pretty boy Ricky Steamboat down for a three count. Now they ask what’s next for the NWA World Television Champion. The only thing he can think of is, if one belt is good, then two or three would be great. So Flair, Magnum, you better keep your eyes open because he’s coming for all the gold!

Kimala w/Gary Hart vs Mark Fleming

Kimala mauls Fleming, literally and figuratively. The announcers reference the incident with Manny Fernandez in Puerto Rico where Kimala tried to make a snack out of him. Nothing Fleming does to Kimala incites any reaction or pain and Kimala ends it with running splash.

Winner by Pinfall: Kimala

Kimala won’t stop his attacks, chopping his big right hand down at Fleming and slapping his belly. Hart asks if Kimala is ready to feed which gets a loud wail in return but before the Ugandan Giant can begin his feast the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez comes running down to the ring.

Hart bails out and when Kimala turns, he catches a Flying Burrito to the head. Kimala tumbles backwards and rolls out of the ring. He wants to go back in but Hart stops him. The crowd is cheering as Hart directs his man away even as Fernandez wants to fight as the show ends.

Bob Caudle and Buddy Colt welcome us to NWA World Wide Wrestling. They tell us we’ll be seeing action from all across the NWA along with special guests. Caudle reminds us that we’ll see the likes of Macho Man Randy Savage versus Crusher Jerry Blackwell, the Rock and Roll Express, and Terry Gordy versus Eddie Gilbert.

Rock and Roll Express vs Danny Davis and Ken Starr

The Rock and Roll Express have the crowd hot especially the young ladies as they seamlessly work with smooth tags and overwhelm their opponents whose gimmick is...interesting. But it’s not interesting enough to survive the double dropkick.

Caudle and Colt welcome Mike Graham to sit down with them. Graham thanks everyone for their love and support in a very trying time for his family. He says that he’d like to let everyone know that he will be making sure his father’s dream of Championship Wrestling from Florida doesn’t fall apart. In fact 1985 will be his last as a full time wrestler and he will be taking over the role of promoter in 1986. They both wish him well.

We’re then shown a pre taped video of NWA United States Champion Magnum T.A. Magnum says that carrying this belt everyday reminds him of how hard he’s fought to get to this position and reminds him how far he still has to go to get to the top of the mountain but he can promise the people one thing. Every time you see Magnum T.A. in that ring you’re going to get 100%!

Terry Gordy vs Eddie Gilbert

Gilbert starts hot and throws everything he has at Gordy who withstands it all and then blasts Gilbert with a forearm to the face, knocking him flat. From there on it’s all Gordy who uses his size and speed to overwhelm his opponent and he finishes Gilbert with the Oriental Spike.

We see a slow motion replay of the finish and the Oriental Spike looks even scarier at that speed.

Randy Savage vs Jerry Blackwell

Blackwell is a mountain of a man and while Savage uses hit and run techniques all he’s doing is angering Blackwell. When Savage goes to the air, Blackwell swats him and then uses his girth to punish Savage for a few minutes. Blackwell misses a charge into the corner when Savage ducks out. Savage quickly goes to the top again and hits a double axe handle with Blackwell leaning on the ropes. Blackwell falls onto his back and is stunned. Savage goes up for the third time and flies off with the big elbow and that gets the win.

Caudle and Colt thank us for tuning in and say they’ve been holding back an announcement all show but now it can be told. Next week on NWA World Wide Wrestling the main event will be one of the biggest matches of the year. Harley Race going one on one with the Modern Day Warrior, Kerry Von Erich! Tune in next week for that exciting action!

Tony Schiavone and David Crockett welcome us to the show. They hype we’ll see Macho Man Randy Savage, the Russians, and NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard in action tonight.

Randy Savage vs George South

Savage dominates South in every conceivable way but there is a moment when Savage appears stunned and referee Randy Anderson intervenes to check on Savage’s right eye. Savage shrugs him off and keeps going, eventually hitting his patented elbow off the top rope for the win.

David Crockett is back at the interview area when he’s joined by Starship Coyote but when he tries to introduce him as such he’s cut off. Coyote says that’s not his real name, that’s his slave name. His real name is Scott Hall. He came here to JCP because he was promised opportunity to make a lot of money and so far the only thing he has is that stupid name. He tells Crockett he’s been trying to get in touch with his brother to talk about this but he’s being ignored. So he tried to talk to David but he’s been ignored. Well he’s tired of being ignored! He grabs Crockett by the lapel and pulls him close. He says that from now on Scott Hall will do what he wants, when he wants and for Crockett to go tell his brother that! He flings Crockett to the ground as we go to commercial.

After the break Tony Schiavone looks shaken but he's joined by the NWA Tag Team Champions the Andersons. Ole seems to be taking joy in Schiavone’s demeanor. He says he doesn’t care about some announcer because they’re out to lay out some cold hard truth. All the little girls scream and holler about the Rock and Roll Express but what do they have to show for it? The Andersons have the gold and that is what matters! Arn takes over and says vanity is a funny thing that only seems to apply to some people and not others. Well, Ricky and Robert, the next time the Andersons see you, those little girls won’t be screaming and kissing your posters in the magazines after they see what we do to you!

Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff, and Krusher Khruschev vs Gene Petit, Jerry Stubbs, and Denny Brown

We’re all lucky World War 3 didn’t start after the beatdown these three Americans take at the hands of the Russians. It’s a complete squash from the opening bell and it ends via Nikita’s Russian Sickle.

Blanchard shows off his skills and why he’s the champ. Savoldi is feisty but he’s no match for the veteran Blanchard and his Executive Director outside who is always keen to distract or help his man. Blanchard defends his title after getting the three count with a slingshot suplex.

Tony Schiavone is joined by James J. Dillon who is beaming. Dillon asks if Schiavone can smell how the air is cleaner and smells so much better since he and his men ran that coward Dusty Rhodes out of Jim Crockett Promotions. As he blathers on, Rhodes walks out behind him to the crowd’s delight.

Dillon turns around and turns three shades of white as Rhodes grabs him by the collar. Rhodes makes three points. One, he’s no coward. Two, he’s not going anywhere. And three, tell your boys hello! He gives Dillon a Bionic Elbow which knocks him cold and just turns to smile at the camera as Tony Schiavone tells us to come back next week.
