Tickets are still available and they are able to announce the main event will be NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair defending against Ivan Koloff! Ivan Koloff flanked by Nikita and Khruschev comes out to the desk. He says in three weeks he will take the NWA World Title and they will bring the belt to Mother Russia. They will melt it down to create bullets for the Russian army when the next war begins! He warns Flair that in three weeks his ride at the top will come to a sudden end. Tommy Rich and Terry Taylor vs the Malenkos Rich and Taylor have a pretty even match with the Malenkos but when Rich makes the hot tag Taylor begins cleaning house, eventually focusing on Dean, who he puts away with a running bulldog. Winners by Pinfall: Tommy Rich and Terry Taylor David Crockett is joined at the desk by Dick Slater. Slater says he sees what’s happening around Jim Crockett Promotions and he was sickened by what he saw last week. Eddie Gilbert is a good kid and the Andersons….. Ole and Arn approach the desk. Ole asks if Slater has anything to say to their face but he warns him that if they don’t like the sound of it he won’t be saying anything for a long time while his jaw is wired shut! Crockett moves away as Slater stands his ground when suddenly Ron Garvin walks up behind Slater, evening the odds. Garvin says if the Andersons want a fight maybe it’s time they hit someone from the front instead of from behind. Arn replies that he needs to mind his own business and Garvin replies that he decides what’s his business around here. Ole puts a hand on his nephew’s shoulder and the Andersons back off promising revenge as they go. The Barbarian w/Paul Jones vs Denny Brown A quick match,for Denny Brown’s sake. The Barbarian manhandles him for a few minutes before putting him away with a running boot to the face followed up by a diving headbutt off the top rope. Winner by Pinfall: The Barbarian Tony Schiavone welcomes the American Dream out to the desk. Dusty says that 1985 will go down in history as the year the son of a plumber, the man with blue eyed soul, reclaimed his rightful place at the top of the NWA as the World Champion. It’s his year and it doesn’t matter who stands between him and his goal and that means Ric Flair. Riding in the limousines, flying on the private jets. Women on each arm. He can have it all because all the Dream wants is that title and before this year is out, the American Dream will be the World Champion. Magnum T.A. vs Black Bart w/James J. Dillon An even match that flows back and forth, sees Magnum take a late advantage but Dillon climbs onto the apron to distract him. When Magnum turns his back Bart charges but runs into Dillon, knocking him off the apron. When Bart staggers around, Magnum hits a big belly to belly for the win. Winner by Pinfall: Magnum T.A. Tony Schiavone is at the desk when a man approaches. Tony introduces him as the infamous Gary Hart and asks why he’s there. Hart says infamous is a very good word to describe himself but others could say macabre, evil, and downright sinister. He has been all over the globe looking for men to bring forth to destroy and maim and he has found such a man in deepest darkest Africa! He presents to the world the Ugandan giant….Kimala! As the figure approaches the desk the camera slowly rises so we can see more of him. We can hear some gasps in the audience but it is only when the large man stands next to Hart that we see his head or rather his ceremonial mask. Hart tells Tony that the day of reckoning has arrived! Flair says that he heard some America-hating Russians were out here saying they were going to melt down his belt. Well here’s some news for them. They will take this belt from his cold dead hands. He says they seem to forget that behind the alligator shoes and the rolex watches and the five hundred dollar ties there is a champion who fights with every breath and Ivan Koloff, if you want this title, you’ll have to kill the Nature Boy to get it! WOOOOOO! Superstar Billy Graham w/Paul Jones vs Joel Deaton The Superstar shows off his power all match long, constantly keeping Deaton on defense. When he’s done toying with him he slaps on the Full Nelson and Denton quickly submits. Winner by Submission: Superstar Billy Graham David Crockett is joined at the desk by Ole and Arn Anderson. Ole says that last week Ron Garvin decided to stick his nose in the Andersons’ business. He couldn’t leave well enough alone and use his brain to walk away. So now he’s on their radar too. Arn says they warned that people were going to get hurt but he’ll be honest he didn’t expect someone to be stupid enough to volunteer for it. Garvin and Slater will learn the hard way that curiosity does indeed kill the cat. After the commercial break Tony Schiavone informs the audience that the show in Winston Salem North Carolina in two weeks is nearly sold out. We know we’ll see Ric Flair versus Ivan Koloff but he just learned we’re going to see the Andersons collide with Dick Slater and Ron Garvin. On top of that we will see NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard defend his title against the man who pinned his shoulders for a three count, Sam Houston! American Starship vs The Long Riders w/James J. Dillon The match goes back and forth but when Coyote gets the hot tag he begins taking it to Bart and Bass. Gaining a second wind, Eagle comes in and together they hit a double running shoulder block on Bart for the win. Winners by Pinfall: American Starship Tony Schiavone welcomes Bobby Heenan, who is quick to remind him he’s the Chief Operating Officer of Tully Blanchard Enterprises. Heenan says the snot nosed punk Sam Houston is going to learn that you don’t embarrass a man like Tully Blanchard and get away with it. You don’t make a fool out of a man like himself and think there won’t be consequences. In two weeks the career of Mr. Houston will be ended by the best wrestler in the world, the NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard. Dusty Rhodes vs Nikita Koloff w/Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev Koloff controls the early going but the Dream fights back and ends up knocking Ivan and Khruschev off the apron with Bionic Elbows. He’s on a roll but when Ivan and slide into the ring they swamp Rhodes and the referee calls for the bell. Winner by Disqualification: Dusty Rhodes The Russians are all putting the boots to Rhodes, three on one, when Ric Flair comes running down to the ring. Shedding his suit jacket on the way down Flair slides in and immediately gets into the frey, lighting up all the Russians with heavy chops across the chest. This buys Rhodes enough time to get back to his feet and although it’s three on two, the Russians are sent from the ring and as the show ends it’s the Nature Boy and American Dream holding the ring as David Crockett tells us to come back next week for the aftermath of this moment! alpha2117 Posted December 31, 2019 Share Posted December 31, 2019 I've always wondered if Nikita Koloff had of been born 10 or 15 years later whether he would have become Stone Cold Steve Austin? In real life he was beloved backstage and was a genuine good guy and in ring he was great - his face turn was one of those great pleasant surprises. Wahoo says he’s been all over the world defending his title from every challenger and one by one they’ve fallen victim to the chop. He acts as if he’ll chop Schiavone and when the announcer jumps back McDaniel just smirks, picks his belt off the desk and leaves. Ole and Arn Anderson vs Mike Graham and Owen Hart Completely one sided, the Andersons beat down their opponents methodically before Arn puts away Graham with a spinebuster. Winners by Pinfall: Ole and Arn Anderson Tony Schiavone is joined by Sam Houston. They begin discussing his victory over NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard and his upcoming title match in Winston Salem when Bobby Heenan approaches. Heenan begins berating Houston calling him a loser and saying he’ll have no shot tomorrow night. Now Houston is getting hot but when he puts his full attention on Heenan Tully Blanchard flies into the picture, attacking Houston from behind. Blanchard kneels over Houston, peppering him with right hands. After a few moments he stands and gives Houston a swift kick to punctuate his attack. As the champ and his manager leaves Schiavone checks on a hurt Houston. David Crockett is joined at the desk by Dick Slater and Ron Garvin. They hype their big match versus the Andersons and say it’s about time someone stands up to the biggest bullies on the block. Crockett hypes the big Winston Salem show tomorrow night and wishes them well. Buddy Landel vs Charlie Brown An open match which sees both men get in some offense. Landel eventually takes control and earns a victory after he hits a corkscrew elbow drop. Winner by Pinfall: Buddy Landel A music video is shown hyping the big match this Sunday between the NWA World Champion Ric Flair and Ivan Koloff. Manny Fernandez vs Thunderbolt Patterson A very physical match with Patterson holding the control for long stretches but Fernandez begins a comeback and scores the pinfall via flying forearm. Winner by Pinfall: Manny Fernandez Tony Schiavone is at the desk and welcomes the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes talks about the Russians and how they jumped him last week. He says tomorrow night he will get some payback on behalf of the red white and blue. The crowd erupts when someone else walks out. Flair walks up and says Dusty wouldn’t be looking for revenge he’d be in a hospital if it wasn’t for Flair. Dusty admits Flair saved him last week and says that he is man enough to admit it. Dusty wishes the champ well versus Ivan Koloff. Flair tells Dusty that those two will never be friends, but they have common enemies and tomorrow night, the Nature Boy will take care of one of those enemies when he kicks Ivan Koloff’s butt. The two stare at each other until Dusty nods respectfully and puts out his hand, Ric looks down at it and, after a beat, takes it as the two shake hands. Flair swings one last time but Koloff catches him in a bearhug. Flair is in trouble but he won’t submit. Flair grabs the ropes and both men tumble to the outside. When Flair gets back up he’s bleeding from his forehead. He and Koloff brawl on the outside for a few moments before they return to the ring. Flair is whipped into the corner and Koloff follows with a running knee but Flair moves and Koloff crashes into the corner holding his leg.
