Pretty sure the Oddworld will be nominated again, so I'm shining a light on this little gem instead. Veteran Real World No Nomination from me here Veteran C-Verse/Fictional The return of RMW/CWL in The Summit by Historian. The Climb was a wonderful diary and as shocking as it was to see it end once it hit National size, it was equally shocking to have a sequel come back out of nowhere. Showcase The OWC album in The Oddworld by Bigelow Cartwheel I love assigning entrance songs to wrestlers and this was a great way to showcase these without spamming them during shows or adding links to a roster listing in the opening post. The picks are great fits for his characters and this is coming after an ongoing joke about OWC merchandise, so it was built up perfectly. Match Orcus vs (Donde Esta) La Pollo! for the CTUC Bucket of Blood title @ CTUC Thankskilling in Chi-Town Urban Combat by DarK_RaideR I try to avoid nominating myself, but La Pollo was literally a cult hero smash hit out of nowhere and I've spent my Showcase vote already. CTUC established EL CHUPACABRA! as a cult icon, but that was intentional. When he got sidelined with an injury, I brought in The Man-Eating Chicken to fill in for him and keep the feud going until his return. It was a short term deal until the return from injury (also because TMEC is a Freelancer) and I was just looking for an appropriately silly, monstrous gimmick, but he did seem to strike a nerve with my reading audience and they came up with all sorts of ideas, from his entrance theme to his song and I ran with them, so this nomination is mainly driven by the desire to highlight the wonderful things that can come from the writer-reader interaction. Pollo blazed bright and this was his highest moment, competing for the hardcore midcard title only to be written out after he was thrown into a meat processor to become chicken nuggets. Event Hotlanta Hussle in SCCW Reborn: The Last Rebels by Historian and DarK_RaideR Doing this diary is an honor, it is fun and a nicely working experiment on co-booking and co-writing a promotion. We booked the show's card right after our first PPV Tenneessee Tussle so we'd know what to build up towards, then did the 4 weekly TV episodes to get there. I'm enjoying a lot of different Real World diaries right now and I think all of them qualify as Rookies under the new rules. All Elite Wrestling by Levinux. Consistently fun to follow and always spurs some good discussion. I have legit watched AEW and gotten confused because I was thinking of Levinux's booking instead of the real world. WWF 1991: I Don't Have a Catchy Name by ink625. I love the promos in this. Ink has a real talent for aping the voices of coked out icons. NJPW 2019 - Long Term by joshbrady91. I've gotten more and more into New Japan over the last few years, so I really enjoy this alternative take. Rookie C-Verse/Fictional EFW: EXTREME FORCE WRESTLING! by Voeltzwagon. I'll second this one. It cracks me up. Veteran Real World WCW: Dangerous Territory by James Casey. Great shows and backstage drama that's conveyed in a way that no one else does. Feels like I'm reading Flair's auto-biography. Veteran C-Verse/Fictional The Oddworld by Bigelow Cartwheel. As a pretty new follower of diaries, I just discovered this in January. I stopped reading the updates so I could start from the beginning. So good. The Summit by Historian. I'll also second this one. I missed out on The Climb. Reading this, I understand the hype. Showcase Overall Presentation in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide by Hollywood. This looks so slick. Really pulls me into an area of the wrestling world I don't know much about. Match Giant Baba vs Stan Hansen @ Champions Carnival in All Japan Pro Wrestling (1983): The King's Road to Glory by Rogue. As a reader, I tend to prefer my match write-ups short and sweet, but this one really stuck out to me. Paid off the build up and surprised a lot of readers. Event The Wrestling Classic: Block D in The Rip Chord Invitational by codey_v2. Wanted to give some love to this diary which does a great job of establishing characters before they're unceremoniously dumped from a massive tournament. Normally this far into the cycle of a TEW title and so close to the Release of a new Version, the DOTM starts to suffer.
