DETAILS

This mod is the continuation of the amazing work done by Fleisch and southside_hitmen on the Real World Chronicles mod. Big thank you to both of them who have been giving all of us years of enjoyment with the mod and have given me their blessing to carry on with their work and keep it alive for everyone. If I can live up to the standards they set I'll be very happy.

CHANGES (APRIL 2020)

- 166 new workers

- Comprehensive roster updates

- Global stats and popularity updates

More info in changelog

MOVING FORWARD

As things stand, 99.9% of the work has been done by Fleisch and southside_hitmen - the final TEW 2016 iteration of this mod is going to focus almost entirely on the usual monthly updates as well as a rebalancing of stats and popularity, plus adding missing workers from currently active companies in the mod. The main purpose of the April release will be not just to give people a new post-Wrestlemania edition of the mod to play through the last weeks before TEW 2020's release, but to gather community feedback on how the mod is looking.

When TEW 2020 comes out, there's obviously going to be a lot of work required to get the mod up to scratch and converted properly, but hopefully with some of the limitations of TEW 2016 out of the way, it will be possible to reflect reality closer than ever particularly when it comes to Broadcasting and the effect it has on company growth which is an area I feel 2016 is lacking in and something I'll be focusing on strongly with the new game. Once everything is converted and playing nicely, my focus will then expand towards adding new companies and workers while cycling out the older and less significant workers who are unlikely to see use.

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK

As mentioned before, one of the purposes of putting out a final TEW 2016 release is to gather community feedback. This is going to be particularly important for me going forward not just because this is my first public work on modding this game (oh god help) but because one of the things I want to achieve going forward is the closest thing to a consensus we can get. On the subject of stats for example, we all know they're pretty subjective and when asking 10 different people what Will Ospreay deserves for Psychology, we'll most likely get 10 different answers. That said, the aim is always going to be to have everything be as realistic as possible while not straying too far from the balance of the CVerse and the best way for that to happen is by gathering the opinions of you guys. So, if you see anything strange or anything you think has been overlooked, let me know and if you think anything needs retuning, please post your thoughts!

On top of this, as I mentioned before, the eventual aim is going to be to add more companies and workers - not so many that the data becomes bloated, but just enough to flesh out the independent scene a little more. While it won't happen immediately, if you guys have suggestions about what you'd like to see, let me know.

THANK YOUS

Fleisch & southside_hitmen - The mod wouldn't exist without them and like I said, it's practically entirely their work!

Derek_B - For his excellent mod making guide that I'm constantly looking at these days

joemurphy - For completing RW mods in my eyes with the aptly named Super Awesome Modern Picture Pack

Adam Ryland - For satiating the fantasy booker within me

This forum - For making the game even more awesome than it already was with all the mods that straight up blow me away

Very excited to see someone taking this over, here is some stuff that I noticed when last playing the game so I'm not too sure if there have many any updates since

Workers:

Add Manny Faberino to NXT

Add Takashi Sasaki to GCW

Set Kid Lykos to retired not out of the biz

Chris Brookes on excursion in Japan

Blake Christian has weak everything

All of Schadenfreude should be friends

Kerry Awful should be on hiatus

JT Dunn shoud have know and reformed drink and drug issues

Add (Mainly people I notice missing from regular GCW and BLP shows):

Eddy Only

Atticus Cogar

Dewey Donavan (Manager of Gage)

KTB

Charlie Tiger (YDNB)

Ellis Taylor (YDNB)

Griffin McCoy (YDNB)

Rich Palladino

G-Raver (Injured)

AJ Gray

Stables:

Add Eddy Only, Atticus Cogar and RSP to a stable in GCW 44.OH!

Add Griffin McCoy, Ellis Taylor, Charlie Tiger and Jordan Oliver to a stable in GCW as YDNB

ROH:

Id maybe consider removing Face/Heel divide from ROH a lot of people seem to be tweeners or have no disposition at all

Dak Draper should have a ego maniac gimmick

PJ Black is teaming with Brian Johnson in ROH https://www.rohwrestling.com/wrestlers/brian-johnson

Vinny Marseglia is now going as Vincent

Righteous is now a stable with Bateman, Vincent, Vida Von Star & Chuckles

Bateman and Vincent are teaming as Righteous

Lifeblood seems to be no longer a stable and is just Haskins & Williams

Remove the freelancer status from Velvet Sky

Rush, Kenny King, Amy Rose and Dragon Lee are a heel stable as La Faccion Ingobernable

Nick Aldis should have a PPA with ROH or at least on loan as hes feuding with Scurll

Flip and PCO are heels and feuding with Rush, Kenny King and Dragon Lee

Scurll and Aldis are feuding mostly as tweeners but id set Scurll as a face so he can team with the other VE members

Matt Taven is out with a concussion

Jay Lethal and Jon Gresh are heels feuding with Cobb and Maff (At least on airings I dont check tapings)

Briscoes seem to be faces now

Andrew Everett and Alex Zayne seem to be faces

Colt seems to be out of ROH and in AEW

Danhausen said hes a free agent but has been on ROH shows so maybe set his contract to have 30 days left

Active the Pure championship again

Joe Hendry is a face teaming with Dalton Castle

Last I heard Shane Taylor signed a new contract

Odinson and Parrow arent in ROH anymore

2 Guys 1 Tag Josh Woods and Silas Young I believe are faces, Woods is very happy go lucky and Silas is reluctantly with him

Soldiers of Savagery Moses and Kaun debuted at ROH Wrestling 399

Companies I'd recommend adding in:

Beyond Wrestling

Black Label Pro

Thanks a lot, these have all been taken care of apart from all the new workers that need adding. Definitely leaning towards turning the face/heel divide off for ROH as you say. There are very few clear cut faces/heels and even they often end up fighting each other, so it seems pointless to keep it in place.

The shortlist for companies right now stands at DEFY, Beyond, Black Label Pro, Bar Wrestling and Riptide Wrestling. It's unlikely that I'll add them all anytime soon and one or two companies could be on the chopping block to make it happen, possibly IWA:MS and Innovate. That's pretty long term stuff though.

<p>Just a small update - still working through all the rosters and getting them up to date. I think we'll end up at roughly 100 new workers for the first release and I'm about half way done.</p><p> </p><p>

Here's some random screenshots of the two nights of Wrestlemania, a hypothetical one-night tournament for the ROH Pure title and a look at the updated GCW roster.</p><p> </p><p>

How about adding More Than Hype (LJ Cleary, Darren Kearney, and Nathan Martin) from OTT?

Marty vs Gresham...now that I'd like to see.

Same. I would love to see Gresham be the one to pull through and win that Pure title once wrestling gets back underway.

<p>Hi Questlove, thanks for taking over. The added workers list looks awesome.</p><p> </p><p>

Just a quick note if you haven't heard already, WRESTLE-1 seems to be taking a hiatus (although it's probably closing for good) starting March 31. All wrestlers will automatically be out of contract on April 1st. Do what you want with this info, but I would suggest keeping the company in the game as Closed until further notice.</p><p> </p><p>

Looking forward to giving this mod a go. Good luck!</p><p> </p><p>

PS. Think about adding Kevin Ku to the game and subsequently Violence is Forever as a tag team. He is not yet in if I remember correctly.</p>

Everyone on this list is working in active promotions, so no superfluous adds despite the large amount. Still some more to be added to make sure the smaller US promotions are fleshed out, but it's mostly polishing that I'll be doing now alongside making sure stuff like tag teams are done and events are up to date. Innovate Pro Wrestling and IPW: UK have been removed as neither are up to much or all that relevant in today's wrestling scene. DTU and IWA: MS are on the chopping block, but I haven't made a decision on them yet. Would anyone here mourn their loss? :p

I know most of us are pretty much just waiting for TEW 2020 at this point, but I'm excited to get this out on the 6th and get some feedback on it ahead of the conversion. Fingers crossed you guys enjoy it.

DTU I dont know much about but IWA:MS despite not doing much have some decent wrestlers like Alice Crowley, Johnathan Wolf, Gary Jay and Tyler Matrix. That being said theyre not making any waves in wrestling at the moment like companies like BLP, GCW, Beyond or Wrestling Revolver.

I would suggest potentially adding C*4 Wrestling to the data. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, they use a lot of Ontario and Quebec indie talent. The company has a reputation online as being the PWG of Canada. I can help create a roster if wanted, I go to most of the shows. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Love seeing Rob 'The Gob' Lias on that list. Guess I have to put him alongside Joe Nelson on my list of workers that I have to sign solely because I've trained with them. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

NEW RELEASE!

April 2020

PICTURE PACK

joemurphy's Super Awesome Modern Picture Pack

Additional Worker Cuts (April 2020)

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. That'd be embarrassing.

I didn't get to completely finish everything I wanted to because of time contraints, stuff in my house breaking and needing to take my cat to the vet but it's relatively minor stuff left over. I guess I'll call it 99% done. Of course if you guys notice anything off at all, please mention it. Also, I believe joemurphy will be releasing an update for SAMPP soon and I'll likely be making belt cuts and stuff and posting them in here and the SAMPP thread, so be on the look out for that.

Hope you guys enjoy and see you next time for TEW 2020!

Does this update incorporate Mania results or is Mania set up to be the first weekend?

I haven’t finished Night 2 yet so don’t want any spoilers.

It's after Night 2, so yeah, avoid for now. Though this gives me a good opportunity to mention I've got it set up so that Wrestlemania is still taking place in the first week of April and is numbered as 36, to stop the AI from holding a new April event with a random name.
