Can someone please help me.

I'm trying to get this to work on my Mac using wineskin but I can't get passed the wrapper part.

I want to play a wrestling sim game SO bad.

Please give a guy a hand please. This self isolation would be easier If I could play this.

Also , I'm not strictly stuck to wine. I can download anything that would be easier... just not expensive.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if it is still up to date, but it might be worth a try. http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534314

I'd be quite interested in trying to get this to work too. As far as I know, Wine still isn't compatible with Catalina so if you've updated as I have I don't think this will still be possible.

I downloaded something called VirtualBox which I think might be an alternative workaround, but in honesty, I haven't actually looked into this yet so I could be misinterpreting the software.

The only other alternative is a paid solution like Parallels, but personally I'm not in a situation to pay for that right now. Of course, if anyone here knows any better please let me know!

In the meantime, I'll hopefully still be able to load the game up on my PC, switch my monitor off and then use Remote Desktop from my Macbook. :p

If you play with VirtualBox, you would still have to purchase a Windows licenses to install TEW onto or install a Linux flavor and run through Wine on there. That would be fairly time-consuming and I'm not 100% certain it would work.

Another alternative is Crossover, which seems to come in at $40 for a one-time purchase (https://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover-mac). Not cheap, but less expensive than Parallels or VMFusion, which come in at $80 each.

User with a Mac. Was bummed I couldn't play unless I had a desktop. If you're not too savvy with Wineskin or like program (such as myself), I recommend to just bite the bullet and get Crossover. With Crossover and TEW, it's about $75 altogether, nothing different from a deluxe video game edition these days.

Also, their customer service is ace and the guy who I corresponded with set me up to get it going. You won't be disappointed albeit some crashes here and there.

I just got in the habit of saving my progress and saving while filling out a show.

I tried Crossover with WMMA5 and just couldn't get it to work. It installed perfectly but then the "Windows" would crash every time I went to boot up the game.

I will third the notion of using Parallels Desktop. Going the route of VirtualBox, while giving you somewhat more control over the customization options, is not a beginner's virtualization software, at least IMHO. TEW 16 will run fine on Win 7 (better with SP1), 8, and 10. :D

Parallels 15 for Mac for sure (especially if you are on Catalina). If you are a student or have a student in your household, you can get it for $40 (50% off). I'd recommend installing Windows XP Pro w/Service Pack 3, use it in 'Coherence' mode, and keep the virtual machine offline to prevent any security issues (outside of licensing / unlicensing).

Depending on your Mac, the virtual machine will use a lot of resources for Windows 7 and 10 (because those OS need 2GB of RAM and quad-core at a minimum to operate well). Using WinXP allows you to customize lower virtualization hardware. TEW2016 runs flawlessly and loads extremely fast using dual-core and 1GB RAM. Running a Windows 10 VM will use over 2GB of your Mac system because its utilizing so much for the OS that you don't need. Running WinXP will use far less, allowing for you to run TEW and whatever else you want without a hiccup. The WinXP VM will also take up much less storage space.

I also messaged Adam a month ago to confirm that WinXP would still work for TEW2020 and he confirmed that it would.
