TCW Discussion Thread

Any of you keep getting offers for people to put over T-Bone? First I had Josh Taylor willing to do 2 matches. Now Doc the night of my PPV which is the first match between Tbone and Taylor offers to put him over for 3 matches now.

I get one every other show ! Everyone in TCW apparently loves him.

I actually already added Sam Keith. I have him managing Greg atm. I felt like Greg is already on the verge of being a Main Eventer so I didn't wanna bring him into the syndicate strictly because I want the Syndicate to elevate guys who might not be over yet instead of putting in already established guys. If Keith becomes available id like to add Matt with his brother and dad. I'm getting to the point of having too many stables right now. I plan on giving Aldous Black(i hated the name Blackfriar and i hear Greg Hamilton saying Black in my head) a stable like he has in IPW(i think) and just signed The Night Terrors to be his minions and Hells Bouncer as his muscle. I would like to kill off Sinner Society though just because they dont really fit into my plans at all and id rather not make them all jobbers because I love Shark, and Eddie Peak can still perform.

Hmmm...if you want up and comers you could go with Remus and Thomas or Hocking. I'd say T-Bone Bright, but if I remember correctly hes an amazing babyface so he wouldnt really be best used in a heel stable. You could also try out Flynn and Booth as a tag team if they have good chemistry since you're ending Sinner Society.

I talked Bryan Vessey out of retirement to bring him back into TCW and have him fill the veteran role that Sam Keith did in the original Syndicate. I'm going to have this Syndicate implode in the first year and have Wolf lead a new Stable in the future.

<p>Just hit King of Kings and in a major upset, Freddy Huggins beats Aaron Andrews in the finals, depriving us from AA vs Wolf again at the main event of Total Mayhem and assuring a Syndicate member main eventing Total Mayhem XXV. But will Freddy challenge newly crowned TCW Champions Greg Gauge or his leader, TCW World Heavyweight Champions Wolf Hawkins? Let's wait and see...</p><p> </p><p>

(I gave Freddy the win because he has been my MVP so far this save, super consistent and is having a great run as United States Champion)</p>

Whats your guys best show so far? Im in April week 1 Year 1 and I just pulled an 85 show with Champion AA vs former TV champ Greg Gauge as my Main Event and i pulled an 85 show. Heavily surprised since no match got over 81 but I had a 100 angle and an 86 angle.

Why Benny over Gauge? Just from the storyline bio written Gauge should easily dominate Benson without needing a DQ finish. Curious where you are taking this story.

Freddy is such a good hand. I fear he's too old now for me to really push him, but he and - to a lesser extent - Edd Stone are really the unsung heroes of TCW's midcard.

Too old? Freddy is 35 in 2020. Man and I thought I was strict with older workers. Freddy has another 3-5 years before he even potentially hits decline.

Jimmy Foxx actually looks like a veteran worthy of a push this go around. I've always just kind of ignored him and quietly sent him back to the indies, but with his skills and his very good health for his age (not even below 80 anywhere so no dings) he's one of the better performers in the company right now. Honestly, the health thing is shocking to me, because it feels like anyone over the age of 30 is below 80 in at least one area.

I'm running a small promotion right now, but I like to check in on the big guys to see how they've changed, and as of November 2021 Foxx is the world champ with 4 defences. He beat Jay Chord in a 95-rated main event(!) of Total Mayhem. His defenses have been rated 93, 88, 76, and 92, with that 76 being an outlier since it was against Killer Shark.

All things considered, I'm definitely pushing Foxx in my TCW game. I'm thinking an early game alliance with Edd could do them both well, and that could push two faces up the card that are in position to put on good performances.

Hearing all the Foxx success stories is really interesting because he's turning in great performances for myself too. The wheels started turning when I saw Macca316 talk about pushing him and how it was working that I checked what Foxx had been doing for me. Dude is consistently giving me solid matches, just recently got me an 87 against Chord on TV. He's someone I usually dismiss because of the character and just kinda job him out but yeah I was a bit surprised when I saw his starting stats. He's not bad at all in ring AND he has good entertainment skills. This has led me to course correct and push him more as a third tier bordering on second tier guy.

Hey, glad to see I had an impact an you're welcome.

He's doing well in my game, currently, since he turned on him he is refusing Benson a match and has just recently aligned with the debuting Brandon James.

I see all the hype for foxx, but there are just way too many people I would rather push. He is currently in a feud with "The Fiend" Frankie Perez, just to lose and push Perez up the card

Literally doing exactly the same thing with the same people!!

Taking an idea from this very thread, I booked AA v Gauge as a TV main event. Regular match, no gimmicks. It got an 86 rating, tying my best match so far, and an 81 show.

Has anyone tweaked the focus settings in the product? I'm thinking about going to the one where the show grade is almost entirely based on the main event because I'm having trouble getting my upper midcard to produce matches better than low 70s.

<p>My first TOTAL MAYHEM is in the books and was a very good show. I do think the Main Event could have pushed into the 90s if I had cut out one of the undercard matches and avoided the crowd beginning to get worn out. Either way, was a good grade and I'm now at 77 pop. across America and can go "Large" whenever I decide to lift my holding pattern on growth. I still want to build up more stars before directly competing with SWF and USPW.</p><p> </p><p>

My direction for the company for the rest of the year is pretty clear and has lots going on. Greg Gauge has earned a TCW Title shot by successfully defending his TV Title 10 times. He'll face Andrews and lose, then a Hawkins rematch with Andrews where Hawkins will disband The Syndicate if he loses. And he loses. That will lead to Wolf turning sympathetic babyface after Chris Flynn and The Elite turn on him savagely. Meanwhile, Aaron Andrews will be left to finally lose his title to Jay Chord who will be newly flanked by Matthew Keith and Greg Gauge in a stable called The Rising Sons. They'll hold the World and Tag Titles respectively for a long while.</p><p> </p><p>

I got lucky with some contracts coming up early in my game. I'm not signing everyone as I don't want a crazily bloated roster but I did get Missy Masterson to spearhead my Womens Division. I somehow didn't see that Alicia Strong became available too - d'oh! Anyway, in January I set up a TCW Network and a Womens Development fed with weekly TV and that exposure has gotten a good handful of women up to about 40-50 popularity. Pinky Perez has gotten to 70(!) so she's going to be my first champion for sure. Sorry Missy, you've been overtaken!</p><p> </p><p>

The top of TCW's card is really good for putting on 80+ matches and keeping your show grades high. Andrews, Hawkins, Chord and Gauge can pump out those grades in a long match with just about anybody. Now that I've gone Gino and Rock God too (and Matthew Keith) my TV main events are going to be a breeze. I am finding that getting unimportant guys over is very difficult unless you're willing to completely sacrifice some midcarders. Chance Fortune, Daryl Devine, Jeremie Courtney, Elliot Thomas and Maverick have spent a LOT of time staring at the lights.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, TL;DR, I'm just past Total Mayhem and this was my card: <img alt="GJUbcTE" data-src="https://imgur.com/a/GJUbcTE" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

what subscription type and coverage did you use?

Internet Commercial with Big coverage in the US and Canada and Medium in Mexico. BUT I did do that before the expense of doing so had been drastically altered.

It's well worth it though, even just for the US. Having an NXT-like promotion getting people over to an acceptable degree before you call them up avoids a lot of hassle of trying to build guys up from 0-20. And it's basically created a ready-made women's division for me by just letting them work down there with good exposure for half a year.

I would like to do it, but I'm not sure if I want a commercial, or subscription, Because (I might be wrong) I will likely earn more money with subscription, but my workers will gain less pop in my dev company

EDIT: nevermind, just seen how much it is now :(, your broadcaster would now cost 210 million. Why is this a thing?

I signed a bunch of mid-high to high Star & Charisma guys with good ability in different stages on day 1.

Planning to build a "Lightweight Division" a la WCW except that when they have the star power to be big stars they get pushed as such. I'll try pulling 3 or 4 of the new hires up at a time and the rest get a one win, one loss regimen until it is their turn.

The plan is to run 2 weekly TV shows and do 6 and 8-man tags to get ratings for the shows until I can build more stars. And find good tag team combinations on house shows to fill that division up ASAP. Running "Main Event Focus" and "Tight" angle focus should be ideal for this setup.

Hopefully will be able to siphon off the 40 year old guys pop onto the younger generation sooner rather than later.

It shouldn't cost 210 million to make a broadcaster that is big in NA and medium in Mexico. Dev companies are a lot less useful without a broadcaster, especially in this game where the skill increases you got in 16 from dev companies are gone</p>
