Mrdbarker
Hi all, I used the 2016 pre-made wrapper to start my process, I got as far as test run with it on the wineskin app and the game works. But I don't know how to go from there!! Please help. Or if someone could make another pre-made wrapper for computer failures like myself, that would be great! Scorpiontiger66
TEW how to Is there a way I can play this on my Apple Ipad or is there a plan on releasing it somehow less complicated and not needing to download 200 things?

Yeah the pre-made wrapper from 2016 is quite out of date so I suspect that won't even work on older versions of MacOS. What Mac and MacOS version are you running? If I can, I'll try to create a pre-made wrapper for you - just we'll have to be on the same version for it to work properly
Mrdbarker
I'm on Catalina version 10.15.4. If you could, that would be wonderful!
Swootonius
Just curious, how will this work when the full version is out next week? Very keen to use this on my mac. Guide is excellent!
InstantlyOil
I'm on Sierra 10.12.6 Sierra on my Mac Laptop and have been using Winebottler for all my Wine related program and managed to launch it just fine with default setting. However, the TEW is cut off in the right side becaue of my screen limitation and I don't know how to edit the ingame screen resolution. Does anybody have a solution? Whether ingame or not, since this is my first TEW Game

LondonDrummer
<p>Awesome! Easy to follow and worked great!</p><p> </p><p> Is it possible to instal the update patches? Is it as simple as drag and drop? InstantlyOil
Unfortunately TEW has a set screen resolution, so you can't change it. Thanks for telling me this. By this way of thinking I tried to change my own Mac laptop's Display resolution and it instantly worked when I changed it to a bigger one. No more cut screen and I can finally exit those roster pages. It's such an obvious solution but I didn't think about it. Anybody who is stuck with clipped screen can try this simple method yourself first. Go to System Preferences > Display > Use any other display than your current one / Default
neonslime
<p>Hey all, I'm trying to install using Winetricks. I've done it in the past for TEW 2016 but this time I'm encountering errors. I tried going in and creating a new wrapper, then attempting to open the wrapper in Finder, but when I do it says the wrapper can't be opened. I double click it a second time and it opens just fine. I choose Install Software and pick the trial.exe but get the following message:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47683" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>No new executables found!<p> </p><p> Maybe the installer failed...?</p><p> </p><p> If you tried to install somewhere other than C: drive (drive_c in the wrapper) then you will get this message too. All software must be installed in C: drive</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If I click OK then the message disappears and another saying "Winetricks is busy" will pop up and run in perpetuity until I force quit, but when I force quit, I'll get the install wizard for TEW 2020. I run it and another busy message runs in perpetuity until I force quit. This time however nothing happens after I quit the program. If I open the TEW 2020 wrapper I've created, it just takes me back to the configuration screen where I have to install the .exe file again.</p><p> </p><p> Any suggestions? Would prefer not to run on Parallels as my laptop has limited memory and I have limited funds.</p>

Make sure the wrapper is not running however!</p>

neonslime
Just bumping this in hopes someone might be able to help. I'd like to be able to support Grey Dog by purchasing the game sometime over the next week.
Lockandquay
Was reluctant to try this as it seemed technical but followed to the letter and worked well. Cheers. For those not tech savvy and wondering wtf a wrapper is, don't worry - just download the wineskin programme and it'll make more sense. Guarantees no accidental loss of anything that way.</p><p> </p><p> The new skin for the full release is different from the old one so any skins you picked up during beta will need replaced, I believe most if not all of them have been updated so that should be easy too.</p><p> </p><p> And from there, you should be good to go once you buy the game and have your license installed. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
ClintBobski01
I am trying this tutorial and everything was fine until winetricks step. I dont understand how to install vb6run and other 3 things. I search for them in the bar and I press run but nothing is happening. Can you explain what exactly should i do to install? I also unchecked silent and checked this custom square down, then I pressed run and now I have some stuff in down in command section, did I mess something up? You need to click the little drop down arrow when you search and find the folder, so you can actually see the thing you've searched for, and then click run. Omg I'm so stupid, how did I miss that? Anyways, I finished installation and the game works perfectly. I also had display problem, couldn't see the right side of the window but I took InstantlyOil's advice and changed my display resolution. A huge thanks to you and everyone here, happy booking guys! alex226
Just bumping this in hopes someone might be able to help. I'd like to be able to support Grey Dog by purchasing the game sometime over the next week. Yeah sorry I’m running on Catalina, and I can’t reproduce this. The only suggestion I’d have is the make sure you’re using the latest version of the wineskin engine and wrapper. You can update on the Wineskin Winery app. Also, if you’re able to move to Catalina at some point, you’d probably have more luck.
alex226
I still have the beta installed. If I were to buy the game, how do I go about installing soundly? Derek’s way is probably the safest for sure. However I just ran the demo-full version installer .EXE using the “Install Software” option in the wrapper and that did work. Lockandquay
Derek’s way is probably the safest for sure. However I just ran the demo-full version installer .EXE using the “Install Software” option in the wrapper and that did work. Tried this with no joy - every time I tried to run TEW I'd get an error about missing files. In the end I followed Derek's advice and I seem to be up and running now, so for anyone unsure maybe err on the side of caution. Thanks both for your help! Black Yeshua
Screen Cut Off I was successfully able to get TEW 2020 up and running on my Mac from the aforementioned instructions (huge thanks!) but have the problem of the right side of the program being cut off. Tried adjusting the resolution to no avail and even Retina Mode in Wineskin but that totally screws up the layout. Anybody know of any other possible fixes for this?
