Historian
EILL has gone through a lot in four years. A name change. An owner death. A retirement/leaving the business of its top star. What do you think of Mexico's strongest positioned company?
Sco xY2Jx
<p>I know very little about Lucha Libre but I'm here for others to weigh in and educate me as this is one of the companies I was considering starting with but maybe I should go smaller.</p><p> Someone educate me on Lucha Libre!</p>

Historian
EILL is in a really interesting position, in my opinion, narratively. They have a boatload of cash, but a young, new owner, who has eschewed international expansion to solidify his national base. The loss of Champagne Lover (and El Fuerza to a lesser degree) has hurt them, but they have a bunch of young talent where they should still be able to dominate lucha libre for years to come unless CILL or OLLIE (unlikely to be EMLL with their niche product) are able to rise up to steal some young stars when their contracts come up. Matt_Black
I've noticed that when EILL is under AI control, they'll approach OLLIE about a development deal, which feels wrong on so many levels. And honestly shocked that Pablo Rodriguez is no longer with the company.
Jaded
The Pastor's post going through booking an EILL card here is absolutely fantastic. Well worth reading if you're unsure about how to go about booking the fed!
Bigpapa42
That post by Pastor is a nice add, Jaded. I've gotten into real lucha over the past six months or so, and quite enjoy AAA. CMLL has its positives, but AAA just resonates with me. So I definitely want to take EILL out for a spin at some point. On TEW2016, I really enjoyed Burning Hammer and creating new characters for super juniors I had hired. I figure delving into the world of lucha triples that. I just want to bring over my free pics and add them before I do that lol
Capelli King
I think Lucha Libre has one of the best products in the game in general. Their product is not a straight on the workers, they allow for enough angles. You have De-masking and Shaving to add extra pop's to angles. They allow for longer matches as well. Personally i never played any promotion in Mexico, but in TEW 2020 i could start off with EILL when the game get's launched.
maljjin
My first game has been with EILL, it's an going experiment to learn the game. I figured knowing ZIP about Mexico/Lucha Libre and having never played there in previous versions would reduce some inherent bias. Let's just say I'm really bad at the game...lol I'm having fun though, the roster is interesting. By the end of February, Canal Uno kicked me out, even after I've negotiated a more forgiving time slot. I have now learned that you can't get a new TV deal for one year after a cancellation. I've been booking with an heavy focus on the PPV. TV shows consist of 90% of tag and multi-man tag matches. They're not an issue, the rating are fine in general. I have though the same issue than in the trial with TCW. If I don't spam the heck out of the 3 or 4 main guys, the ratings are usually a couple of points lower than the TV expectation. On the plus side, Multimillorano is on fire. His popularity skyrocketed, so much that I felt I had to put the belt on him (sorry El Leon!). So much for the initial plan of keeping EL Leon strong for 4-6 months only to have Gino Montero beat him for his first world title.
Spud1305
Been playing as EILL and had some fun, Rock God Alvarez is awesome. Pretty sure that he can easily grow into one of the biggest stars in Mexico. Like most I feel that ratings are a bit tricky without spamming the top 4-5 guys though. Does anyone else sign up OLLIE as a dev fed? I haven't yet but thinking the AI might have the right plan.
El Trabajador
Just had an Game of thrones inspired idea after seeing Blood Raven being released in one of my saves, it would be a American invasion with a stable called "White Walkers", in this universe Trumps Wall would of been build, i just want to know if anyone else thinks this is a good idea to do this with. You've got loads of options though pop in Mexico is likely to be lacking unless they come from USPW. Mutant could work as could Hijo de Mephisto, Extraordinario, any of the EMLL roster. Even some of the unemployed guys like Styx. USPW hires/releases could also give you some big guys. I love EILL, got a great save going with them. A bunch of guys at around 90 pop, a created network and a dev company set up.

As good as those ideas are, the entire reason they would be "white walkers" is because of there race, think of it as nation of domination but in mexico, based on one of wrestling basic storytelling, Racism. So far my signings have been Jack Bruce, Bruce the Giant (mainly for angles) Mario Heroic, The American Cobras and Turning Dutch rudo and thinking about signing someone like Mutant to be the Big Monster of the group
thiagofjv
I've always a OLLIE guy but this time i've tried a save with EILL and so far this is my favourite save in TEW 2020. The only problem was in the start when you really need to spam El Leon, Rock God, Multimillonario, Axxis Jr. and Gino Montero because this is the only way to achieve the high tv grades required to not lose your tv show. But after that, it's really entertaining to figure out who will be your next champ, who deserves a push and who will be buried (Dutch Wilkes deserves a push? Or maybe Boom-Boom Jamaica! What veteran will start to job against young guys? Soul Taker or Ultimate Phoenix? Even your next champion is an exciting choice, Gino Montero deserves your first world title? But Multimillonario never won this too...) I'm really excited about this save. I'm two weeks away from LuchaMania and my champ is a unsmaked Multimillonario(He lost is mask in January PPV against Rock God, my original plan was Axxis Jr. losing the mask against Gino but he won't accept), he won the belt in February and will lose the main event of LuchaMania against Rock God Alvarez. Rock God is a beast and in my save, he's clearly the next Champagne Lover. My plan is make Rock God the champ in this LuchaMania and lose the belt in March'21 against Gino Montero. I've made a alliance with BHOTWG and started a subscription service with focus on Mexico, USA and Japan, created a Intercontinental Belt who is a alliance belt only defeated against other nationality guys, most of time, a mexican against a japanese. At the moment, Sensational Dragon is the champ and will retain in LuchaMania against Angel of Mercy.
Bigpapa42
After bouncing around the Cverse and not really finding that exact right combo of factors in any given company, I’ve started eyeing EILL. I’m reasonably familiar with lucha and its unique dynamics – watch some CMLL, used to watch AAA, have watched Lucha Underground, and do delve into some of the indy stuff put up on YouTube. I generally find Sports entertainment fun and interesting to book, and I’ve had great fun coming up with super junior characters on Burning Hammer saves, so I imagine creating new luchadors would be similarly fun. I haven’t done a test save yet, but I will. Been reading up on what I can find on the board about EILL. I know that keeping TV can be a bit of a challenge because of the grades required to maintain company size and the starting popularity levels. But in a lot of ways, it seems like lucha easy mode – a talented roster that doesn’t have overt age issues, good broadcast deals, roster isn’t overly bloated (I’ll take care of creating that issue myself), and it's even a re-branded company with almost endless options. Oh, and money! Plans... so Far New Stars So rather than trying to go after big talent from other big companies, I think my focus will be on building up new stars. Between poaching talent from other lucha companies (don't want to completely talent strip them) and free agents, I think the lucha world offers plenty to create a new generation of stars. I may look abroad for some talent as well. From some test sims, it looks like USPW will go after the biggest stars EILL has when their deals come up, so I plan on the possibility of losing them. Developmental Company I know the AI likes to have EILL sign up OLLIE as a developmental company but that feels all kinds of wrong. So I will just open one. Nothing huge. Performance Center Since there is money and EILL doesn’t have a school of its own, it seems like a no-brainer to open a PC. Some of the younger talent can be developed a bit faster and the company will eventually start to produce its own talent. I have a couple thousand masked male free pics, so… might as well take advantage. Broadcasting When a company has money, opening a broadcaster is always tempting. But besides targeting wider growth in the US or maybe another market, I’m not sure there is a huge amount of need. Could put the child company on it, but… not sure that’s worth spending most of the starting money on it. If / when I lose the TV deal, then I’ll jump at it, but not sure its worth doing prior to that. Women’s Division Another idea I’m toying with but not certain about. I know the women’s side of the CV isn't the deepest but there are some strong talents. They need popularity to be built but that’s typically not the toughest thing in an SE-type product. Questions Wrestler Types Any limitations I should be on the lookout for? The Product info just mentions hardcore skill not being used. Brawlers fit in anywhere. Any issues with Puroresu-focused workers, for example? I was thinking of adding a few Japanese talents like Yanagimoto and Orange Tsuchie, but there are some really talented workers who could come in on PPA deals from the likes of BCG. No popularity, of course, but as regular B show fodder, they could be useful. Shows Speaking of B shows, the intent is to add a Tuesday night B show. But I’m also toying with the idea of adding a regular weekly Mexico City show, much like CMLL’s traditional Friday night show. Just not sure how I can do it. Adding a regularly weekly event means it needs to meet the grade standard, even if its not broadcast. I tried adding a Lesser weekly event for the AI on a test and it ended up just replacing the monthly PPV. Adding a Throwaway led to the company losing money. Like, a lot of money. And doing it as a tour show means the company doesn’t run house shows, and those tend to earn a good amount of money. I could add a tour event for every house show but that’s a lotta booking. Only idea that seems like it might work would be having a B show anchored in one city and maybe running a bit longer. Besides that… anyone have suggestions on how to do a regular weekly house show style event? Experiences? Since this hasn’t had any posts in a long time, anyone want to share their EILL stories? What they did, what worked, what didn’t, and really anything at all?
