I've enjoyed Frogue a lot more ever since I realised that he basically just wants to be Swoop. Now that promo might have gone a little too far into him just being a Swoop fan territory, but I allowed it because he was real stressed and scared about losing his title. Goode won the title!? Whst is this blasphemy! Main Event Mafia about to have a power struggle. Who are you using for Mumma Wayne? Momma Wayne, how could you? You're breaking up the band. And you're not even a true Australian to boot, if you were you would be Mumma Wayne. I'd celebrate Goode's win but he ruined my predictions, so I'm a bit salty. I was definitely expecting them to be the main two talking points of the episode. Goode is obviously a shock. This was partly because I knew I wanted to give him one last run. He's considered a star, has 93 SQ, is a former 2 time TV Champion... but my initial reaction was to job him down the card. So I fought against that as with him being there 11 years around the top of the card I think he deserves a 3rd run. That said, the main reason really is it's necessary for what's happening going forward. Momma/Mumma is an interesting one, as a Brit, Momma of course isn't normal to me. Part of me just found it funny the idea of all of these big wrestling brothers calling her that. In my defense, as in my life I've only really ever used or heard MUM I've always actually read it as MUM-MA but I've never either seen that spelling. The other thing is although I've not really touched on it much, in the background of this diary on the actual save RAW is slowly preparing to be exported worldwide. My thinking is the ASN network are fully aware it can't appear TOO Aussie or it won't appeal to Europe and the US so they've instructed people to dial down on the slang and that sort of thing. If I'm being honest, and this might not go down well with the Australians/Fans of the Australian Scene, in the LONG LONG run I can see it basically dropping it's Australian identity, not completely but definitely embracing the fact that it's an international promotion. Perhaps changing what the A stands for in the name. My thinking is one ASN smells the money it can get from TV deals abroad it will bend over backwards to appeal to those demographics. At the moment I've just created a broadcaster that is showing RAW everywhere worldwide but it's only tiny so unless I'm able to pump more money into it it will likely take a while. I just don't appreciate USPW coming over here and fighting me in an area battle so I want to take the fight to them eventually. I've avoided doing any behind the scenes posts about the game itself, but I might break that at some point to post about RAW's global strategy and some other changes I'm making. When I first wrote the show Momma Wayne was going to just be an extra who wasn't technically played by anyone in game, a bit like say Gilbert's psychologist or the modelling director in Milan, so I used a render of Abi Romanov that Lloyd was kind enough to age for me. Love the Godfather scene. Just got it on Netflix here, watched the first two and stalled on the third. It's pretty interesting and it hooked me but it was three hrs long and the acting wasn't good at times. Yes it was the 70's but *shrug* 2. There's always someone dying, or going away and new people joining to replace them. Sure there will be some core actors who stay on it for decades, but in general it's a conveyor belt of cast members. </p><p> </p><p> Heartbreak was the perfect first arrival, RAW loves to stockpile good looking men (I currently have 9 on my roster over 85). I'm not saying I'm purposefully trying to cater to the gay male demographic... but I certainly COULD! I definitely imagine RAW though to be a program for males, I think their company bio even states that it was made for that purpose but I'd like to think if you were trying to get your girlfriend/wife/girl-friend into wrestling, this would be the company you'd show her. I'm not even sure I've ever watched the third one. Which is funny because I quoted it in the episode but the quote 'just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in' is said a bunch in The Sopranos which I am currently watching. </p><p> </p><p> I'm excited for this new iteration of MeM where there is a lot more emphasis on the whole mafia part. As for the movie night idea. Holy moly. I can't wait for this. I'm going to go with: Lord of the Rings - so that Gilbert, Wills, and a few others can return to their prime!! Godfather - so MEM can flourish aaaaand, wild stab in the dark, Zack and Miri Make A Porno! catering to those males and females that like that sort of thing. 20LEgend Posted June 11, 2020 Share Posted June 11, 2020 Just realised I had two episodes to read! Love this line: "Lynx explains all he did was facilitate a group hallucination". Coming in half way through a gauntlet was cool too. Really think Croft is going to be a threat with the whole band behind him. "Bit last week isn't it" from Swoop got a laugh too. More Gimmick Doctor skits have lots of potential. Interested to see what other stuff he comes up with! Frogue's whole character, but also the way he set up the match with The Captain, was really well done. His interaction with M.E.M afterwards too. And his dynamic with Swoop is so good, even when they're not directly feuding it feels like there will always be stuff between them. That pre-main event segment almost endeared me to Frogue. "In a picturesque meadow Manhunter is running through the daisies with Matty Wills on his back who is giggling as he holds on tightly." between that line and the image above it, I don't know what to say. Brilliant poor Matty Wills. Will Beaumont and Momma Wayne what an episode! Huge ending too... glad I had the next episode to go straight into.<hr>JT and the Main Event Mafia opening definitely gives JT the rub after losing last week. Great way to open the hour. I thought Matty's dream/the hallucination was coming true for a second there! Interesting tease and I'm looking forward to where they both go. "Naturally there will be no payment, but you’ll get lots of exposure for working with someone of my stature." fits Blake so well. The Cluesome Twosome are such great characters to have. The way they can sort of be placed into any storyline, while not neccessarily doing much significant in terms of their own careers, makes them a really fun part of the show. Loxley is such a good guy! Almost too nice... Loving the character development of Frogue! The rebranding of the LiberTeens is brilliant. Never thought the Croft's son storyline would lead to this, but it's great. "I mean we were forced to sign over our past, present and future. Can you legally own our past?" "What are you a lawyer?! He realises his mistake." Great last segment. Didn't see that debut coming, but the whole trip to Europe leading to that is so good. Two great episodes! christmas_ape Posted June 12, 2020 Author Share Posted June 12, 2020 I appreciate the comments, it's always super interesting to see what parts stick out to people, and it's definitely great to hear when certain lines I enjoyed are ones pointed out. Not exactly spoilers but I'll still put this in white text as I suppose it's to be read only after the above show... So I don't believe anyone got a film right, granted you had no clues so picking any right out of the millions of films that exist would have taken a lot of luck. I had a shortlist of about 5 films I was tempted to use for this and I'm slowing adding to it as there's the chance for a Movie Night 2 down the line. One or two of the films on the shortlists were guessed. And I completely agree that Con Air could work brilliantly so that's on the list. I enjoy these special episodes, but sometimes they take me a fair bit longer. This one in particular, I knew I wanted at least 3 separate stories (I had things like Treehouse of Horror from Simpsons in my mind) but the task of condensing the films into such small stories, but keeping some sort of narrative whilst still making it relevant to RAW was perhaps too challenging. So yes, as much as I love the freedom of randomly throwing in special episodes. Doing 3 of them in the last 7 shows (Movie Night, GoT, Swoop's abduction) has made me look forward to just getting through a bunch of more normal Attitude! shows. Lynx landed some pretty big roles in there - Yoda and Morpheus. Con Air is one of my all time favourite films, so I'd love to see that! Who will play Cyrus the Virus!?! Tombstone?! As cool as Swoop is, I feel like he likes to be in control of himself so the idea of being spiked with hallucinogenic drink wouldn't appeal at all to him. </p><p> </p><p> Yeah nobody else was even in 2 films. Lynx winning the title was a surprise to most, and I agree that in RAW he's not that high up in the pecking order so I'm letting him shine in other ways I suppose as despite being the Quest champion I wouldn't want to put him over anyone decent in ring.</p><p> </p><p> Con Air is one of my wife's favourite films I just asked her why and she said 'It has Nicholas Cage being badass in it'. I don't quite share her love of Cage but it is such a good cast. I was one of the biggest guys against Tombstone (Where is he again, did he get taken off due to the abduction) but anyway. Lynx looks like a star because of this, we get unique interactions and Lynx a guy I didnt rate at all does not look out of place as the QUEST Champion. My hope is for the Quest Title to be really fluid. Both in terms who in the card can win it, and how it's treated in storylines. Tombstone hasn't been on Attitude! since he no-showed the Wrestler's Court and was banned from the locker room. Technically he's not banned from RAW full stop, but he's keeping his head down/plotting his next move. He's definitely someone I can see coming and going a lot.
