I'd totally use Excel, but since I'm not working for myself anymore I don't have an Office license for personal use - and I can't exactly run this on my locked-down work computer (work in finance too <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ). Macros should work on LibreOffice though, so I'm not sure why it's kicking me that error - maybe it's something with my settings.</p>

I have a created tew2020 folder as directed into which I have put the excel spreadsheet and the mdb file. What am I doing wrong

One weird thing I noticed; when I renamed the file inside TEW (ie, entered "TEW2020 Ultimate Excel" as the name when creating the .mdb file initially) I had the same issue. However, when I left it as "Savename_Jan2020" and then renamed the file manually outside of TEW, it worked fine.

This is more interesting and useful than just about any new feature 2020 added in my opinion. I wish it worked for 2016.

Unfortunately, it looks like the way this works, is that it pulls all the data from an exported file from 2020. So as some information is different in 2020 then 2016, it's almost difficult to do to convert it back.

What is if you find the most useful on this that you would want to see on a spreadsheet for 2016? I love working in excel and learning new things so i might be able to look it up and work on something.

<p>Hey there,</p><p> </p><p>

great work. I made a quick test with Libre Office (I do not have Microsoft Excel) and everything went well until klicking on "Update Data". Then the following error occured: BASIC-Laufzeitfeher 423 Refresh All". </p><p> </p><p>

Maybe the error occures because of Libre Office?</p>

This might be something you're working on already, but could I humbly suggest the ability to sort columns? :)

<p>I think this is a great little program to run alongside playing TEW2020, but if your looking for feedback for improvement, this is what I have for you.</p><p> </p><p>

1. Make sure we can sort. Perhaps make the top row that you would sort, the headers, and get rid of the headers there now, and that might make it easier to sort. IF sorting is already possible, I wasn't able to do it by clicking on A-Z or Z-A for some reason. </p><p> </p><p>

2. Have to add all the skills (along with what you already have). The way I convert the data is I throw in a name row again, after so many rows of information, to make sure it's easy for me to see who I'm looking at. Name-stuff-stuff-stuff-Name-stuff etc.</p><p> </p><p>

3. (optional) It seems that the worksheet auto-pulls as soon as the database is in the same folder. IF there is a way that we can decide when it updates/pulls data, like the button that's there... instead of it doing it on it's own, I believe we could just put it in our normal data folder, and update whenever we want, as long as we aren't playing at the time. </p><p> </p><p>

Those two things and I would use it over my method... much easier. I never learned how to auto-pull information from a database (or website) into an excel sheet, so I open a couple sheets with excel to get the information I want, and then delete the stuff I don't (off the excel). Your way allows us to get all the information we need with the added plus of us being able to update that information at any time.</p><p> </p><p>

Again, nice work. Thanks for enhancing everyone's gaming experience!</p>

This is some great piece of work. But in all honesty, "Race"? Are you serious? Couldn't you replace it with a less racist term like "Skin Colo(u)r"?

@JoMo & @stevedarake: Libre Office/Google Sheets don't support macros afaik, and this sheet heavily relies on those. No chance of using it outside of Excel.

If you're offended by even just the word "race", "skin colour" is surely even worse? Ethnicity is probably what you're looking for.

Who the hell installs TEW to Program Files? It's 2020 man. :p

Well, skin colour at least is a descriptive term. "Race" is something that doesn't even exist, but was, as the name suggests, created by racists. I absolutely agree that ethnicity is the better term though.

V0.3 is now out and the first post is updated with some new screenshots and the download link.

This new release included: an expanded Roster tab (added: user notes, storylines, attributes, averages for skills and popularity, and previous Power 500 Ranking), completed Workers tab (allows up to three workers to be compared), and there is a first draft of a Company tab with other elements to be expanded in a later release, and unlocked Blank Tabs 1-5 have been added for user completion.

Included in the above is the ability to make notes against your workers which will be carried over when you update the data (as long as that worker is still there).

Plans for V0.4 will be resolving the sorting issue and expanding on the company info (e.g. storylines, titles, shows, etc.)

I'll be taking a slight rest for a few days now!

I'm merely exporting what is in the TEW game and MDB files, so terminology used is more a Grey Dog Software / Adam issue.

The document can only be used with Microsoft Excel I'm afraid due to the macro needed to update the data.

Yes, sorting automatically is disabled when you lock a spreadsheet (although filtering is still available). There is a macro workaround which I'll try to figure out for V0.4.

1. Make sure we can sort.

2. Have to add all the skills (along with what you already have).

3. (optional) It seems that the worksheet auto-pulls as soon as the database is in the same folder. 1. As above it's planned for a future release.

2. Is now addressed in V0.3

3. Not doable I'm afraid.

Many thanks for the feedback received.

No worries then. At least it's not displayed anywhere in the game as far as I can tell.</p><p> </p><p> Regardless of that, your sheet is amazing and, should I buy the game at some point, I'm very likely going to use it.</p>

One thing I noticed (possibly a game issue rather than the excel) is that some workers are showing up on their contracts with the company I'm playing as whilst others are showing their remaining contracts with other companies.

For example I'm playing TCW and have signed Youngman & Wolfsbaine. Both signed on the same day and are yet to debut but Wolfsbaine is showing his TCW contract & perception whilst Youngman is showing his PSW handshake contract and Major Star perception.

That aside I really like the look of this & hope to be able to get some good use out of it once the full game comes out. Keep up the good work.

Edit: Also just noticed that when comparing workers the Body section of Absence & physical is matching to whatever the 2nd workers body stat is.

Many thanks for your feedback - nope the contract thing is an issue my end with the formula used. I'll get this sorted in the next version (will need to come up with a different calculation method so will take some work). I've just corrected the body issue on my working version.

If there's anything else you come across just post it.

This looks great, I couldn't figure out how to get it to run but I love how it looks. I'm playing TEW through Parallels so maybe that has something to do with it because I follow it to the letter. Either way, very cool way to look at the data.
