But in putting this all together I think now it would be best to keep this minor shows shorter - especially given something you'll all find out about like, very soon. I wasn't expecting Paris Burnett or Ho Tinh to pull off the kind of ratings they did which is why Kid Fantastic and Hikichi took the main event spot, which obviously was a mistake in hindsight given our main event focus.<p> </p><p> As far as predictions go yeah, things went as expected with nobody scoring less than 7 points, but hopefully the run of shows coming up will provide some tough choices for you all (hopefully). So with full 9/9 scores we had just kjarvs, 8/9 we had EpicCorey and shawn_waters and then last but by no means least we had lieon02, Sco xY2Jx and Bigelow Cartwheel on 7/9! Welcome back to Sco and a big hello to newcomer Bigelow hope you stick it out.</p><p> </p><p> Coming next: The worst wake up call MAW has ever received.</p></div></blockquote>

The time showing on the digital clock that sat beside the bed of Jay Fair. It was empty save for Jay himself. Susan was working the night shift at the hospital. Jay, blurry-eyed reached out for the thing that woke him. He flailed his arm wildly until his fingers brushed the cool, metallic surface of his phone. It was ringing. Probably some marketing scam from halfway across the world. Jay was about to hang up when he noticed Sam Gauge’s name on the caller ID. He didn’t know why Sam was calling, but Jay’s stomach sank at the thought of what could be happening. Vision’s of Sam in the hospital with Greg, or asking somebody to run the company while Sam flew of to Japan because of some emergency with Matt. He was even tempted to put the phone down, let it ring out. It could wait until morning. But, then again, what if it couldn’t?</p><p> </p><p> Jay answered the phone and gave a curious greeting to Sam. There was silence for a moment. A long pregnant silence, the kind normally reserved for horror films, right before the monster pops up. After a few moments, Sam finally replied “It’s done Jay.”</p><p> </p><p> “What do you mean, Sam? What’s done?”</p><p> </p><p> “It’s done, finished, all over.” Sam sounded eerily quiet, and more than a little sad. Jay knew what that meant, going all the way back to their SWF days.</p><p> </p><p> “Sam, have you been drinking? I thought you had given that stuff up. Doctors told you, your liver couldn’t take anymore.”</p><p> </p><p> “Oh, screw the doctors!” Sam raised his voice; anger laced every word. “And screw Kyle Rhodes! And screw BriCo!”</p><p> </p><p> “What’s going on Sam, really,” Jay pushed again.</p><p> </p><p> “The deal’s done Jay. Mid Atlantic Wrestling and Total Championship Wrestling are no longer affiliated. All TCW contracted workers are no longer a part of the MAW roster as of midnight tonight.”</p><p> </p><p> “Jesus Sam, how long have you known?”</p><p> </p><p> “Since ten minutes before midnight. Kyle called me, he said he pushed hard to keep things in place, BriCo said out little growth spurt as a company meant we weren’t a good fit for developmental talent. We could become a potential rival and all that. But Kyle, I don’t know. I think he has it out for me. Always has ever since Rip gave the company to me and not to him.”</p><p> </p><p> Jay paused. He didn’t know what to say. How do you comfort the man who’s just received the worst news of his life. Possibly second, after the news he couldn’t drink anymore, Sam always did love his vodka. But given his state on the phone, it would be a close one.</p><p> </p><p> “You know what Sam?” Jay said, “You’re right! Screw Kyle Rhodes, and screw BriCo. We didn’t need them for six years, and we won’t need them now. We’ve been in scrapes before but the bank balance has never been healthier and the roster is looking mighty fine even without their guys. Sure it’s going to suck vacating the Mid Atlantic Championship but we’ll figure it out. Listen, Sam. I’ll drive down to your place now, give me twenty minutes. I’ve got some big plans coming to mind and I think it’s time we staked our claim in the country.”</p><p> </p><p> “Jay, you can’t be serious.” Sam didn’t sound convinced at all.</p><p> </p><p> “Sam, what was the first thing you said to me when you handed me the book after Jean left?”</p><p> </p><p> “That this wouldn’t be just another feeder league?”</p><p> </p><p> “Exactly Sam, and it’s time we pushed for more.”</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48443" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>A/N:</strong> So yes, the night after our first show in April, TCW abruptly and without warning cut ties with Mid Atlantic Wrestling, cutting the roster down from 36 wrestlers to 25 and forcing the company to vacate the Mid Atlantic Championship for what I believe is the first time in its history.</div></blockquote>

TopRopeElbow.com: MAW Americana card

Following the shocking termination of the four-year relationship between TCW and MAW, Mid Atlantic Wrestling have announced their first card featuring no developmental talent. The card is much more stacked than usual, featuring three title matches, including a COTT Junior Heavyweight Championship match pitting champion Ray Snow of NYCW against "The Protector of Baltimore" Josh Jacobs. We will also be seeing an appearance from veteran wrestler Texas Pete as he takes on the dominant monster Dreadnought who may well run roughshod over the roster now that he is uncontested by Ho Tinh.

Sam Keith has also announced on social media that the now vacant Mid Atlantic Championship will be contested in a six-man scramble match at MAW Old School Rules, with entrants being determined by a series of singles matches being held over the next four weeks!

This is, for my money, the best and also most unpredictable card since Where it All Begins Again 2020, cracking stuff! Don't see my streak continuing but you never know!

Devil May Care vs The Wolf Pack

I think this feud lasts a little longer so I'm gonna predict the Wolf Pack winning by underhanded means to set up a stipulation match in future

Deuce Deadline vs Miller Fforde

He's not been near the title in a while, I think Miller starts heating up again from here

Nate DeMarcus vs Nobuyo Hikichi

I don't know much about Hikichi, but DeMarcus is a steady hand who could believably compete for the big belt

Former MAW talent vs Sandman Winks

I could see Sandman dropping the title to a returning star to re-establish a new name, but I think he wins his first challenge

Bradley Blaze vs The Historian

We all love The Historian, but he's not quite at Main Event level yet

Cheetah Boy vs War Piece

I love the teased face turn for Cheetah Boy and I think his story ends with him putting over someone from the BPA in a big spot, he needs this win to set him up for the big loss down the line

Dreadnought vs Texas Pete

Easy win for the monster, let's just hope that the alcoholic cowboy doesn't drop him on his neck!

Josh Jacobs vs Ray Snow

Ray is usually a lower card guy in NYCW so I think JJ beats him for the strap. It'll be a good measure of whether he's ready for a Mid-Atlantic Title push

Bonus Prediction: Who comes back to face Sandman Winks?

Seeing as I've predicted a win for Sandman, I'm going to predict (and hope for with all my heart) a return of the walking meme...KEITH VEGAS

• Both teams looked totally focused going into this match, the usual pageantry of a title match was forgotten as all four men entered the ring with looks of fierce determination.

• Acid II had a cage match with Xavi Ferrara in PSW only a week before this match, and Noggin and Tokoeka knew it, they targeted the young man’s ribs and worked him over in their corner.

• Simon Ice looked desperate for the tag, and when he finally got it he flew over the top rope and became an unstoppable kinetic force in the ring, throwing his body behind every attack at The Wolf Pack.

• Acid II even managed to get back into the match and Devil May Care hit a series of mesmerising double team moves including a backstabber-shooting star press combination that would have ended things had Sean Noggin not been there to break up the pin.

• The Wolf Pack took back control when a poorly timed cannonball senton off the ring apron sent Simon Ice crashing into the ring steps, which left Acid II alone with both Noggin and Tokoeka.

• The pair put Acid II away with the assisted Brainbuster Suplex they debuted two weeks ago which they have dubbed Howling At The Moon.

• In a decent match, The Wolf Pack defeated Devil May Care in 12:11 when Sean Noggin pinned Acid II with a Howling At The Moon. The Wolf Pack make defence number two of the Mid Atlantic Tag Team titles.

• The first qualifying match to determine who would enter the six-man scramble for the Mid Atlantic Championship featured Miller Fforde going up against a member of the B.P.A in the form of Deuce Deadline.

• These two have shared the ring many times over the course of their eight years together in MAW and it showed as both men countered the other’s moves in the early stages of the match.

• Deadline used his size advantage to bully Fforde until he came back with a flurry of offence leading to the springboard moonsault followed by the Fforde Flip Face Crusher.

• In a decent match, Miller Fforde defeated Deuce Deadline in 10:14 by pinfall with a Fforde Flip Face Crusher.

• In the second scramble qualifier, Nobuyo Hikichi, who has had a difficult time adjusting to Mid Atlantic Wrestling took on the man who worked more matches in 2020 than anybody else in MAW.

• The raw power of DeMarcus was enough for him to dominate the early goings of the match, until the vicious and nasty Hikichi raked his eyes and then set about a vicious assault on the right arm of Nate DeMarcus.

• Hikichi threw DeMarcus shoulder first into the ring post twice, then hit a big armbreaker before locking in the Cross Armlock which forced DeMarcus to tap.

• In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Nobuyo Hikichi defeated Nate DeMarcus in 7:32 by submission with a Cross Armlock.

• The first man to accept Sandman Winks’ open challenge for the JHU Championship was Keith Vegas, who left MAW nearly five years ago to pursue other options on the independent scene.

• Vegas did receive some decent support from the fans in attendance who had seen his work from 2009-2016.

• Unfortunately it was clear that Vegas had not improved a great deal in his time away from the company and Winks managed to put him away in just a shade over six minutes with the Deep Sleep.

• In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Sandman Winks defeated Keith Vegas in 6:14 by submission with a Deep Sleep. Sandman Winks makes defence number four of the John Hopkins University Championship title.

After successfully defending his title, Sandman Winks was joined on the staging area by DeAnna Desire who asked him how he felt after beating a former veteran of Mid Atlantic Wrestling.

“Deanna I’m feeling good as can be, and I’m glad you joined me because after putting away that relic, I think it’s time for another blast from the past challenge. Two weeks time, MAW Revenge is Sweet, any relic of this company’s past can come down to challenge me, good luck.”

• The Historian high fived Sandman Winks as they crossed paths on the entrance ramp and Historian looked confident as ever going up against Bradley Blaze.

• Blaze ran down the ramp during his entrance and pounced on The Historian before the bell rang and rained punches down on the top of his head.

• The Historian battled back to some extent, but the unrelenting assault from Blaze overwhelmed his defences and he found himself on the receiving end of the Dallas Drop.

• Eagled eyed viewers could make out words Blaze said before he dropped The Historian to end the match: “The is for you Seth.”

• In a decent match, Bradley Blaze defeated The Historian in 9:42 by pinfall with a Dallas Drop.

A video plays showing a black-gloved hand reaching down to pick up an elegant knife. The figure spins the knife in the air, even catching the knife point-first on their fingertip. They then throw the knife and the video pans quickly across to show a board with strings and pins connecting a series of places and names, all centred around a picture of “The Cowboy” Bradley Blaze, which has the knife sticking out, having landed right between the eyes of the photographed blaze. The picture is black-and-white and blurry as if it had been lifted from CCTV footage and the word “Target”. The video ends showing the audience the upper body of the figure, who appears to be a broad man in a black suit who walks towards the camera to bring the video to an end.

• Cheetah Boy battled back and put his young adversary away with the Flying Cheetah Pounce.

• Dreadnought threw Pete around the ring like a rag doll, Pete barely made a move before Dreadnought was back on top of him.

• Pete was put out of his misery with the Dread Bomb before the two minute mark.

Fans are treated to a video of Lisa Bowen trying to hype her charge Josh Jacobs up before his title fight. She said, “What are you going to do tonight?”

“I’m going to win,” Josh said back while jumping rope.

Lisa stopped him, slapped Josh across the face then grabbed it, squeezing his cheeks together. “You’re not just going to win Josh. We are the Baltimore Protection Agency. We keep this city safe. Alphaville were so afraid of us they skipped town. Ho Tinh realised he was obsolete with us here and probably flew back to wherever he came from. You’re going to dominate. What are you going to do?”

Josh hesitated before saying, “Dominate?”

• COTT Junior Heavyweight champion came to the ring ready for a war with Josh Jacobs, and when they stood across from each other the two were clearly cut from the same cloth. Two no nonsense fighters who saw eye-to-eye on nothing other than the best way to put away the competition.

• The opening stages of the match were slow, with each competitor engaging in a long feeling out process which highlighted the technical prowess of Josh Jacobs and the superior experience of Ray Snow.

• Jacobs came out on top of the early exchanges and started to wear Snow down, pausing after every move to listen to Lisa Bowen cheer him on at ringside.

• Jacobs cockiness got the best of him however as Snow managed to battle back with precision striking, punctuated by a rock hard headbutt right to the bridge of Jacobs nose, that busted it open and began a torrent of blood flowing down the chin of the challenger.

• Things amped up from there as each man hit progressively more impactful moves, until Lisa Bowen hopped up on the ring apron to distract Ray Snow, which allowed Jacobs to hit him in the back of the head with the running knee strike he has dubbed the J-Trigger then landed the Baltimore Backdrop

• In a decent match, Josh Jacobs defeated Ray Snow in 21:43 by pinfall with a Baltimore Backdrop after Lisa Bowen interfered. Josh Jacobs wins the COTT Junior Heavyweight title.

A/N: Getting straight into predictions we had a lot of very good scores for this show, and one perfect score with the bonus which is always nice to see! Kjarvs finished the month with a perfect score thanks to hoping Keith Vegas would make a return to MAW, shawn_waters scored 7/8, lieon02, EpicCorey and Sco xY2Jx scored 6/8 and Historian scored 5/8.

The half-year leaderboard has been update to reflect people who have predicted on at least four shows (remember to be eligible for the prize by the end of June you have to have predicted on at least 50% of shows). 1: shawn_waters - 86.67% 2: Kjarvs - 82.83% 3: lieon02 - 70.73% 4: Historian - 62.07% 5: EpicCorey - 40.74%

Remember the leaderboard having a minimum predictions means you could be having a great run but just be a show off appearing, I use this system because honestly if I didn't I wouldn't have the time to type the scores every month lol.

Also! A quick thank you for the diary of the month votes, this diary had a joint second place which is frankly amazing considering the quality of other stuff going right now so thank you all for that!

TopRopeElbow.com: COTT Champions Report

At the behest of our loyal readers we here at TopRopeElbow.com will be releasing semi-regular updates from across the Confederation of The Territories, and this month we will be focusing on the top champion in each of the alliance’s nine companies.

First is All Canada Pro Wrestling who have put the ACPW Junior Heavyweight championship on Jayson Van Pelt who is currently 65 days into his second reign as champion having won the title from Gram Gorman in what was a typically excellent bout for the pair.

CZCW’s Coastal Zone Championship now sits around the waist of American Flash and has done for 31 days. The Coastal Zone mainstay beat Al Coleman for the title at Uprising and has even made one successful defence so far in his reign.

Current CILL World Champion is El Jaguar, who has had an iron grip on the title for the better part of a year, with his reign sitting at 304 days since it began in June 2020. Having won the belt from Monkey Man, El Jaguar has gone on to be one of the most consistent workers in the Confederation and also makes up one third of the current COTT Trios Champions alongside Bullseye and Waylon Walls.

The current FCW Puerto Rican is Bradley Peverell who has held the belt for nearly a year himself, with “Hands of Stone” besting Handsome Stranger in a one-on-one rematch after claiming the title in a multi-man affair. Peverell has had a series of excellent matches recently, particularly against Big Cat Brandon who is seeing a career resurgence in the Confederation after being let go by SWF.

Frantic Ali is the most recent man to win a title on this list, having won the IPW Championship two days ago, besting Lug Phelan in a ladder match to claim the title. This leaves Ali as a double champion, as he also holds the COTT World Heavyweight Championship and has done so for 163 days.

Current NYCW Empire champion Tennessee Williams is currently in his third reign, having won the title from Brutus Milano who won the title from Williams, who won the title from Milano, who coincidentally won the title from Williams. In fact you have to go all the back to Roger Cage whose last title reign ended in January 2018 to find a man other than the two mentioned here who has held the belt. Does this suggest NYCW are low on bonafide main event talent, or are those two just that good?

The Campeonato de Universal OLLIE, which is usually in the iron grip of either Nico Lopez or Marcos Flores, currently finds itself in the hands of former EILL man Hysteria, who is also CILL World Tag Team champion. Hysteria has held the belt for over 200 days, making six defences along the way and this consistency has been much needed in the wake of the rapid decline in ability and popularity of “The Eternal Kings”.

Last, but only by means of alphabetical order, the QAW World championship is held by current 4-time champion Danielle Sweetheart who is also the longest serving champion on this list, clocking in at 318 days. While some may QAW should focus on young, fresh talent Sweetheart’s effect on the belt’s prestige can be seen clearly and few would bet against her failing to make the year at this point.

A/N: Hey all so I haven't really been around much the last few days. The reason for that is simple, I'm back in work and the physical demands of my job mean that when I have time I have no energy, so things will be slowing down considerably I feel, although I knew this day was coming. This means I'll be changing how I do prediction prizes going forward, with all prizes now being quarterly (every 3 months in-game) rather than monthly with the half-year prize. It means any narrative stuff will unfortunately have to be cherry picked which sucks because I really enjoyed giving time and attention to people I would usually never think to highlight. This means there will be no monthly prize for May, so apologies to Kjarvs who was the rightful winner of that but alas, now that that stuff is out of the way, onwards and upwards I say, the next event card will go up later tonight and hopefully we can start July off right!

Hey, I've just caught up on this diary (okay, maybe I waited a few days so I could predict too) and have to say loving it so far. Sad to see a lot of guys go TCW pulling the plug, but still excited to see where this goes.

Don't worry 'bout having to slow down the pace, I'll still happily being coming here to read the shows.
