Pro Wrestling Renders

I've always been someone who has enjoyed cutting (the task of removing a background from an image) images of real life professional wrestlers and a couple of months ago, I made my own DeviantArt gallery as a place to store all my cuts. I quickly realised that this would be a useful tool for a community like ours as there are people who have access to Gimp and/or Photoshop (amongst other software) so they're more than capable of making their own images but they maybe don't have the skill or patience to cut images themselves. Therefore, I figured I'd link our small community to my page to allow them easy access to renders:

It's very simple to navigate in my opinion. Firstly, head straight to the "Gallery" like below:

And you'll see a row of images that are all self-explanatory, I hope. When you click on one of these images (except "All" and "Featured"), you'll be given access to the sub-folders as you can see here:

In WWE's case, you'll be given eight different sub-folders as I've organised all WWE's renders into their respective rosters, as well as the "Performance Center", "Non-Wrestlers" and "Hall of Fame". In most of the other promotions, you'll only find two sub-folders such as "Non-Wrestlers" and "Wrestlers" but they all work in the same way. Click on the sub-folder you wish to search through and it'll open, thus allowing you to see every render I've done for that particular category thus far.

Alternatively, if you're looking for something/someone in particular, you can use the Search function towards the right of the screen which can be seen here:

I try to label each of my renders with as many tags as possible. So, you may be searching for an image of "Aleister Black" and could quite easily search for either or both of those terms and they'll take you to his renders, but you'd also find his images by searching for "Tommy End". And when you've found a render you wish to use, simply "Save As" as you would any other image on the internet or use DeviantArt to download it, as either way works.

Currently, there are just under 2,000 renders and World Wrestling Entertainment's rosters are completely full. I work on it in my downtime though and I'm hoping that eventually, I'll fill every single promotion completely and host a wider variety of alternatives to pretty much everyone.

Final Notes:

  • I WILL take requests here, but I WON'T take them on DeviantArt. However, if there's a particular image you wish me to cut, I'll only take it on if you supply a high quality image because cutting lower quality images is nigh on impossible.
  • Just to reiterate, this is a place to request cuts themselves. Please don't request that me (or others) put a particular cut on a particular background.
  • You don't need to credit me if you use one of my renders, no matter how you use them.
  • Feel free to watch me if you already have a DeviantArt profile or subsequently sign up.
  • If you need any further help on how to navigate the site and/or how to use them, feel free to ask.

Grey Dog Software has recently made it very clear that we aren't allowed to link directly to donations on their forums to ensure they're covered if anything was to go wrong, but they've graciously allowed people to do it through third party websites such as social media. Therefore, I've created a Twitter account to simply link people to my (or more importantly my wife's) PayPal account. Please be aware that all my modifications are and ALWAYS WILL BE freeware and I do them because I enjoy it, but if you would like to give me something in return then it'll be truly appreciated. Thanks.

<p>When did 'render' become the word for 'promo picture' or 'photo'? I keep seeing it whenever someone talks about WWE updating their roster page, and... it's a photo. A render is a computer generated image, right? I thought it was a DAZ/Poser thing.</p><p> </p><p>

Did TEW change the definition of a word? Or is it also a video game thing? Or am I way off on what the word means?</p>

Oops. My bad. I thought I was in the modification section but I obviously wasn't. I should have double checked before posting. Thanks to whomever moved it.

"Render" has a wide variety of definitions but for as long as I can remember, it's been used to describe an image that is essentially cut out. You're not wrong, they're both promotional pictures and images but it becomes a render when someone (in this case me) takes the time and effort to remove the background from the image. It just makes things a lot easier to deal with in a graphical sense.

I'm with Self, I've never seen render used as anything other than a generated image, typically by using models. The rendering from a cut out, is usually a reference to the background being added which is often rendered within a modelling environment.

You might want to add something like [RW Cuts] to the title of the thread as I think you'll find the majority of people coming in are expecting you to have rendered from a model (and if they don't read the thread, which some won't, they'll be expecting you to have rendered real life workers which very few people do).

I tend to use organic pic packs, but it's always good to see a new resource for the community to make use of and I'm sure you'll get plenty of people taking advantage of it! :)

This is awesome! Thank you, it will help a lot.

Would you possible be able to upload the image you use for your worker backgrounds (specifically talking Shifting Sands mod)? Shifting Sands is one of the mods I play the most, but sometimes I like adding my own renders and it would be cool if I could keep them all with the same uniform background.
