Thanks! I was really intimidated going in because the game straight up says they make a good team and Luther is funny but I wanted to do it differently than my old PSW diary.

 

In my head Moses has a smooth radio voice ala “Let’s get ready to ruuuumble” while Anslem and Luther have a more “Kay and Peele” vibe to them but I don’t know which is which.

 

Thank you and everyone else for the compliments. I really appreciate it. If there is anything you would like to know more about or see featured or focused on feel free to let me know.

 

Next update might take a few days. There is a lot to go over this month (foreshadowing!!!)

New Show Launches Thursday!

IPW is proud to announce that hard hitting hardcore action isn't happening once a month but twice a month. IPW is proud to announce its new show: House of Hardcore, will occur Thursday, Week 3 of every month. IPW's roster is bursting at the seems and one event a month just can't contain all the pulse pounding, gut wrenching, blood drenched action. This hour long show will feature all the hardcore action that IPW cannot squeeze in anywhere else.

 

I can't wait to see Brother Grim s*** himself when this hits our website. It's funny that he decided to declare war first when we were already prepping for it ourselves. Launching this show to play out the day before GSW's events is a shot across their bow and offering cheap seats to ensure it is always sold out is masterful, Gil. See what working together can do?

IPW Launches New Training Dojo!

 

Enrollment is now open for IPW's training dojo, the Darkest Dungeon, is now open!

The Dark Dungeon will train up the next generation of hardcore icons as students are taught how to properly brawl and use weaponry to its greatest effect. It will help convert backyard amateurs into proper professional hardcore brawlers. IPW owner Gil Thomas was thrilled at the facility, announcing at the ribbon cutting that this facility represented IPW's commitment for bringing true hardcore wrestling to Southern California. The first class graduation date has been set at May 2021. For the training staff, IPW has secured veteran The Idaho Punisher as its initial head trainer.

When asked for comment Idaho Punisher said, "Finally I will raise an army to beat the s*** out of Idaho!"

 

And we deliver double tap in one news update. Flexing some of that wool money means we can set ourselves up for long term success. It really worked out nicely that we needed Idaho as a part-time road agent anyway to help out with the new show but giving him the reigns of the new dojo means we can really use him to its fullest. I would say with him in charge we're about on part with the Coastal Resort in terms of facilities and training regimen. I wonder if DaVE had done something like this when it had the cash if would have survived. No idea what kind of candidates we'll get but I can't wait to see what Idaho puts out next year.

American Cobras put World Tag Team Title On The Line!

Starting off the new show with a bang, the Confederation of the Territories has agreed to give Coulrophobia a rematch for the World Tag Team Title. The two killer clowns held the title for nearly all of last year and despite their various schemes and attempts at cheating the American Cobras won the title last November. Both teams are highly decorated throughout the COTT. Can the American Cobras defend themselves against the tricks and toys of Coulrophobia? Can the killer clowns win the title without being disqualified with their hellish weapons?

 

Shot number three. Use that COTT connection to bring in some big names to headline our new show. American Cobras are a dynamite team and there is enough background heat with Coulrophobia that it should make things interesting. Really it's to flex our network right in Grimm's face putting the world title on the line right before GSW's show.

The Dread Pirate Faces a Challenger

The Dread Pirate Hugh de Aske has issued an open challenge for his Californian title and from out East has come a powerful challenger, none other than Grease Hogg of the ex-SWF tag team The Dirty White Boys. Can Hugh defend his precious gold against a foreign invader? Is Grease Hogg here to stay?

 

Shot number four. We've got deep cash reserves so we can afford to bring in some big name national talent. Now that WrestleWorld is showing around the country we can bring in a lot more revenue by using a name people recognize. He might be past his prime but Grease is a hardcore brawler with a decade and a half of solid experience under his belt. He and Hugh should be able to put on quite the show barring any horrible hiccups.

In a pre-show bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Fiasco Fierce defeated PsychoMike in 10:02 by pinfall with a Spear.

Vin's Note: Just when I'd started to write him off, Fiasco starts putting on a solid showing. I give him an E+ and PsyhoMike an E-

The American Cobras taunt rookies Kid Fantastic and James Diaz

Rating: D-

 

Marvel Malloy vs. Kid Fantastic

 

In a decent pre-show match, Kid Fantastic defeated Marvel Malloy in 14:50 by pinfall with a Fantasm.

Vin's Note: It's a dark match, why not give the rookies a win. Kid Fantastic was only a F+ while Marvel pulled off a D

Storm Spillane vs. James Diaz

 

In a pre-show bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, James Diaz defeated Storm Spillane in 15:21 by pinfall with an Asian Thumb Spike.

Vin's Note: Storm pulled a great match out of rookie James. He is definitely on track to debut this year. Storm delivered a solid D+ and I give James an E

Moses: "Good evening, hardcore aficionados. Invincible Pro Wrestling is proud to say that it has so much action it couldn't contain them all in a single show. I am, of course, your host Moses Marakesh and joining me on commentary is Luther Judge "

 

Luther: "What's up Los Angeles?"

 

Moses: "...and manager to the stars Anslem Briggs. Now Anslem, I'm surprised you're here tonight. Frantic isn't in a match tonight."

 

Anslem: "No and let me tell you what an oversight that is. IPW is firing a shot right at Brother Grimm putting on a show the night before theirs so you'd think they would want to feature their best wrestlers. Now no offense to anyone but if Frantic isn't on the card, it's not your best card."

 

Luther: "Really? After everything we've seen so far? If Frantic was on the card what would happen is he would be in a match, JOJI would appear out of the crowd and thw two would start brawling and the match would be ruined. Again. V-Man was smart keeping Frantic on the sidelines so we could get some good, clean, honest brutality."

 

Moses: "Speaking of brutality first up we have a match up between Azathoth and Zombie boy."

 

Luther: "The unstoppable outer demon against the unkillable kid. Sounds like the first couple of rows are going to need ponchos for the carnage."

 

Moses: "Fantastic."

Before the match gets started, Vin Tanner comes down to the middle of the ring. He begins to address the fans but is immediately interrupted by music that is legally recognized as a fair use homage to a popular movie franchise about pirates in the Caribbean region.

Hugh: "Arrrrggh me maties! The Dread Pirate de Aske be blowin' into yer port. Gov'nor Tanner. I appreciates you blessin' me with this here piece o' silver..."

 

Hugh de Aske has the IPW California title belt over his shoulder. Silver might be a very creative interpretation of the belt composition but it does have a nice silvery shine to it at least.

 

Hugh: "But you had best be givin' me another one. This here treasure barely fills up me chest. Ain't going ta be winnin' over no wenches with just a single piece o' silver! You'd best be pushin' me straight to the top or thar be hell to pay!"

 

With that threat Hugh de Aske waves his cutlass around and strikes it off the steel barrier with a loud metallic impact before signaling for his sailing music to play him back up the ramp. Vin looks around and then shrugs as if he's forgotten what he was going to announce.

 

Vin Tanner tries to speak but Hugh de Aske interrupts him shouting about wanting more titles!

Vin's Note: Arrrgh indeed! I knew I should have written something out. I was supposed to give a witty rebuttal but I ended up just standing there like an idiot. Total brain fart on my part. Getting old f***ing sucks. Still the crowd loved Hugh's antics so it got them heated up. Mission accomplished?

Azathoth vs. Zombie Boy

 

Zombie Boy comes out first accompanied to generic metal riffs, arms up and gets the crowd standing as he hops from turnbuckle to turnbuckle. His gaze behind his skull face paint is hypnotic and he hypnotizes the audience like a snake charmer. In addition he's put on some muscle and instead of being a scrawny kid one would call him 'toned'. Then out of the speakers there is a whisper

 

...if you hide, I will find you...

 

Barely more than a whisper it sounds like the archetypal "creepy little girl"

 

...if you run, I will catch you...

 

The crowd is unsure what to expect at this point. Nobody in the IPW has an entrance like that.

 

...if you're alive, I will...

 

...DESTROY YOU!

 

The little girl's whisper is replaced by a full death metal scream as distorted guitars blare out speed metal and Azathoth makes his way to the ring. The crowd is buzzing from the new monster of IPW getting a proper entrance.

 

All in all the entrances end up being nearly half as long as the match itself. Azathoth tosses Zombie Boy around like a rag doll. It's a sloppy as hell match with little actual wrestling and it seems like Zombie Boy had his bell rung early on by a slam because he is wobbling all over the place and Azathoth actually misses some grabs on him. The highlight of the match comes when Azathoth leans a table up against the side of the ring, lifts up Zombie Boy and throws him head first through the table, splitting it in two. He then rolls Zombie back into the ring and blasts him again with Nuclear Chaos.

 

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Azathoth defeated Zombie Boy in 9:37 by pinfall with a Nuclear Chaos.

 

Vin's Note: Azathoth continues his climb. Some people might look at pinning future storylines on a guy who is only pulling off an E performance and be worried but I know he has the talent to carry the company. He's new to the area and it will take time for the audience to start getting on board. On a side note a good solid match out of Zombie with an E as well. That being said these two are never fighting again in a singles match. Their timing and style were all over the place. Especially with that bump on the pre-cut table it should have been a lot bigger opener but these two had Bad Chemistry.

Rating: E-

 

After the ref counts he goes to raise Azathoth's hand in victory but Azathoth tosses him away and hits another big Nuclear Chaos on Zombie Boy. The crowd splits, as some are booing while others are cheering on the continued carnage.Azathoth continues to beat down Zombie Boy, slamming him over and over again into the mat and the turnbuckles before officials and event staff rush the ring long enough to carry Zombie Boy out of the ring. His prey denied, Azathoth bellows in rage and stalks back to the locker room.

 

After the match, Azathoth continues to beat down Zombie Boy

Luther: "God god man, someone call that kid an ambulance!"

 

Anslem: "I guess we'll find out if that kid really is the living dead or not."

 

Moses: "Fantastic!"

 

Luther: "What is wrong with you two! We just witnessed a straight up murder and you two are just going on like it's no big deal!"

 

Anslem: "This is IPW. The Home for Hardcore. If someone isn't getting hospitalized by the end then they aren't doing their jobs."

 

Moses: "Fun fact, in mythology Azathoth is considered an 'elder god', a cosmic scale demon asleep at the center, of nucleus, of primordial chaos itself and if it is ever awakened will destroy all of existence in an instant."

 

Luther: "THAT IS NOT A FUN FACT!"

 

Moses: "Up next is a hardcore tag team match up between the Mexican Hardcore Killers and Barnaby & Rudge."

 

Anslem: "Those two white boys have got to get themselves a proper name. Barnaby & Rudge sounds like a circus!"

Barnaby & Rudge vs. Mexican Hardcore Killers

 

Both teams were quite experienced so the match went back and forth for quite awhile. In the ring Sanchez was hit with a big dropkick from Zach so E-Z grabbed a baseball bat out from under the ring and used it to bash Zach from behind with. While Zach and Ash had tried to keep the fight inside the ring it spilled out as Sanchez also grabbed a bat and the two went to town on Zach and Ash. Eventually the two young high fliers were able to get fans to hand them chairs and thus two duels of chairs vs. bats happened around the ring. The bats made huge sounds when they impacted the chairs. Sanchez ended up bending his bat and getting clobbered by a chair letting Ash and Zach double team against E-Z. E-Z retreated to the ring but Zach and Ash were hot behind him and they stunned him with the chair before hitting their signature double super kicks on him and getting the pin.

 

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Barnaby & Rudge defeated Mexican Hardcore Killers in 12:19 when Ash Barnaby pinned E-Z with a Double Super Kick.

Vin's Note: Not a great match but Zach and Ash needed a win if I wanted to keep them from being permanent jobbers. Poor performance from Zach and Ash though, I give them both E-s while E-Z and Sanchez were performing at an E+ level.

After the match Fiasco Fierce once again took to the ring with a microphone.

 

Fiasco: "Sup my hardcore fam? That's right it's time to get to know one of the wrestlers here in a segment I like to call 'Fierce Talk with Yours Truly. Now everyone's all talking about the new tag team champions so why don't we bring them out here and get to know the Deadly Outlaws!

 

The crowd pops a little as the champions make their way down, especially for the Outlaw who is getting a lot of momentum lately.

 

Fiasco: "Alright the first question on everyone's mind is for you Deadly Deadshot. Do you ever talk?

 

Deadshot: "Yes."

 

There is an awkward pause as Fiasco expects him to elaborate further when he doesn't Fiasco just shrugs it off with a smirk and a laugh.

 

Fiasco: "Fair enough. So Outlaw, how do you feel about being the new tag team champions. Won't this put a target on your back?"

 

Outlaw: "That just comes with the territory, boy. You think I'm afraid of being the gunslinger everyone's dyin' to put in the dirt?"

 

Fiasco: "First of all, that's a hard no on any 'boy' s***. Or 'kid' or any other folksy nicknames. I've got a name, use it proper. Second you're not concerned that the Canadian Hardcore are going to turn their sights on you? Or that Minnesota Awesome might start pulling shady s*** to get their belts back?"

 

Outlaw: "The thing is Slick this ain't our first rodeo. Deadshot an I have both been winnin' belts. Heck we had a nice little run of it back in the day before and ain't nothings changed about us. If those big bulls or little cowgirls want to take a run at us, they can march right down to Mr. Tanner's office and sign themselves up for a match but they'd best be ready because when you take a shot at the champ, you best not miss."

 

The twang of the acoustic guitar and the fan fire gun shots hit the speakers and the Outlaw and Deadly Deadshot raise their belts up high to show them off for the crowd before heading back up the ramp.

Moses: "Strong words from strong champions. Up next the Dread Pirate Hugh de Aske defends his <ahem> piece-oh-silver against none other than legendary biker Grease Hogg. One half of the Dirty White Boys this should prove to be stiff competition for the pirate de Aske.

 

Luther: "Yeah I remember those guys. Big white biker dudes over on one of them sports entercrap shows."

 

Moses: "They are also decorated 3-time tag team champions in Canada.

 

Anslem: "Well this ain't Canada although with a pirate running around one could be forgiven for thinking this was a wrestlecrap promotion."

 

Moses: "Watch your tone, Anslem. The fans love the Dread Pirate and personality quirks aside the man can do it all. Solid scientific wrestling, an impressive array of top rope attacks and he can brawl and bash with the best on the roster. That's right, folks, the Hugh de Aske is a true Renaissance...pirate.

 

Anslem: "Heh, we'll see. I bet Grease Hogg flattens him into roadkill."

Table Match

IPW Californian Champion

 

 

Hugh is severely outsized by Grease but more than makes up for it in mobility. He practically dances around Grease laying out a wide arsenal of attacks, keeping things unpredictable. He hits Grease with some right hands to the face and then flips into a dropkick that flattens Grease before running at the ropes and hitting a springboard moonsault. Hugh goes for a quick pin but Grease kicks out with authority. Hugh tries locking on an ankle lock but Grease recovers and powers out of it. In that moment Hugh stops moving and Grease's reprisal starts happening. He sends Hugh end over end with a giant clothesline before picking up the pirate and tossing him out of the ring. He exits, grabs a chair from the audience and starts battering Hugh bloody around the ring. Hugh is bashed into chairs, into barriers, into the stairs, into the side of the ring. The two make two complete circuits as Hugh staggers around and Grease delivers the pain. Grease finally grabs a table and slides it and Hugh into the ring. He sets up the table into a turnbuckle and whips Hugh towards it but Hugh recovers midstride, running up the front of the table and flipping into a splash that floors Grease. Grease is back to his feet but the momentum is all on Hugh's side as he hits a big DDT on Grease. As the giant biker is recovering Hugh sets up the table properly near the middle of the ring and as Grease staggers to his feet Hugh grabs him by the back of the head and facebusters Grease right through the table.

 

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Hugh de Aske defeated Grease Hogg in a Tables match in 9:58 when Grease Hogg was put through a table. Hugh de Aske makes defence number two of the IPW Californian title.

Vin's Note: Grease is getting old but doesn't do a terrible job. Hugh really carried the match with a D performance while Grease is a high E+.

Luther: "So Anslem...what was that again? For everyone not paying attention, who won that little bet of ours?"

 

Anslem doesn't vocalize anything beyond an angry grunt.

 

Luther: "You sure know how to pick 'em, don't you Anslem."

 

Anslem: <angry grunt>

 

Luther: "Must be why you picked Frantic to manage. That 'eye for talent' you've got..."

 

Anslem: "You're a f***ing piece of s*** Luther, you know that?"

 

Luther: "No argument here."

 

Moses: "Fantastic. Up next we have a COTT sanctioned match up for the World Tag Team titles. Now because this is a COTT sanctioned match it will follow Confederacy guidelines for rules."

 

Luther: "Translation: BOOORING. No weapons, no chairs, no tables..."

 

Anslem: "No ladders, no waffle makers, no frying pans..."

 

Luther: "No wooden bats, no aluminum bats, no barb wire bats..."

 

Anslem: "No thumbtacks, no light sticks, no knives..."

 

Moses: "...and no outside interference. It should be a good clean match up between current COTT Champions the American Cobras and...oh no...Coulrophobia!?"

 

Luther: "Ha! Good luck getting a clean match out of those two. Anslem, get the bell ready. This is going about five seconds before the ref calls for a DQ."

 

The crowd starts booing at the thought of a match being stopped for some good clean hardcore action.

 

Moses: "Listen to that crowd. Not a fan in the building likes the idea of being told they can't enjoy bloodshed and violence."

 

Luther: "Well fingers crossed that those two psycho clowns can sneak it in anyway."

COTT World Tag Team Championship

 

The American Cobras come down to their signature classic American Rock'n'roll theme and show off the belts to the IPW fans. Then the music switches over to creepy carnival music and the two killer clowns make their way to the ring. Hellech is dragging what appears to be a bloody ax across the concrete leaving a red smear while Pierrot is trying to wipe blood off his hands along the steel barrier.

 

The ref argues with Hellech forcing him to leave the ax outside and the two finally get into position. Up first is Pierrot and Storm Spillane . As soon as the bell rings the two lock up, both trying to get the other for a throw. Storm whips Pierrot into the ropes but he ducks the follow up clothesline and rebounds off the ropes. This time it is Storm's turn to dodge and the two go back and forth with attack and counter before Pierrot goes for a clothesline which Storm ducks but instead of continuing Pierrot screechs to a halt and kicks Storm in the face. Pierrot goes for the tag and both of them put the boots to Storm in the ring. The ref forces Pierrot back outside and Hellech goes to the top and hits a top rope leg drop onto Storm. Storm is in a bad way and Hellech is giggling as he goes back up top for a frog splash but Storm rolls away. He crawls towards Marvel to make the tag but Pierrot races around the outside and drags Marvel off the side. There's nobody there for Storm to tag and Hellech goes back to brutalizing Storm in the ring. Stomps, chops, and drops. Finally Hellech is done playing and goes to for the cover but Storm kicks out! Hellech and Pierrot both seem surprised so Hellech puts the boots to Storm a few more times and tries to cover but Storm kicks out again! Hellech tags in Pierrot and the two toss Storm into the middle of the ring. They go to opposite corners and the crowd gets excited as it looks like Coulrophobia are going to Send In the Clowns (a rapid series of aerial attacks, they hit a splash or drop or sault and then run back to the turnbuckle to hit another one). Hellech hits a splash, Pierrot hits a leg drop but when Hellech goes for an elbow drop Storm rolls out of the way. Hellech misses and Pierrot is already in the air so he misses two. Both clowns are stunned and the crowd is on its feet as Storm starts crawling towards Marvel to make the tag.

 

Inch by inch he gets closer, Marvel is stretching with all his might as the clowns start to get back to their feet. Hellech and Pierrot get to their feet and charge Storm but he makes a half leap and hits Marvel's hand. Marvel goes on a proper rampage hitting clotheslines and suplexes left and right. Hellech is dropped, Pierrot is dropped, Hellech gets up only to be suplexed again. The crowd is cheering Marvel on as he holds off both clowns with rapid fire offense. Hellech rolls out and Pierrot is brutalized. Pierrot tags Hellech back in and they are both destoryed. It looks like the American Cobras are on their way to victory when Hellech hits a lowblow to Marvel and the Cobra's offense grinds to a halt. Marvel is double facebustered into the mat but then Storm comes flying off the top rope and hits Hellech with a painful looking leg drop. Hellech and Storm go down and in the confusion Marvel and Storm recover and hit Hellech with a Cobra Strike (double DDT) and Marvel covers for the win.

 

In a good match, The American Cobras defeated Coulrophobia in 15:03 when Marvel Malloy pinned Hellech with a Cobra Strike.

Vin's Note: And that is why the champs are the champs. Both Storm and Marvel give solid C- performances while Hellech pulls a D- and Hellech gets a E+. Still Storm was too stiff with that leg drop and Hellech was really smarting after the match with a giant bruise on his pec.

DVD Bonus Feature

 

After the match American Cobras leave the ring with their belts in celebration and the two killer clowns just sit in the ring, shocked that they lost in the end. Their plan to isolate Storm had gone so well and yet they had lost in the end. They sit lifeless in the ring like a puppet whose strings have been caught when Melvin Otto creeps into the ring.

He leans over and begins whispering in their ears. Nobody can hear what is being said but slowly the two clowns seem to come back to life, sitting up and turning to face Melvin, nodding their creepy masked heads slowly.

Thank you both very much.

 

I came to an epiphany because I always wondered how to use post-match time. I know in the real world they'd throw in a "storyline independent" main event match but for a fed without a tv show, what does it really mean?

 

So now I'm thinking about using it like the stinger in the movies to tease out future storylines. An angle that has to happen at the end of the show but I don't want interfereing with the main event or show ranking.

 

So I hope you look forward to these little teasers of storylines yet to come...

After Grease Hogg's failure to grab the IPW California title Grease has called in support from long time partner Lead Belly to reform the Dirty White Boys in IPW. The Dirty White Boys are 3-time CGC tag team champions and have wrestled together for 15 years. They are challenging IPW favorites the Canadian Hardcore in a "winner takes all" #1 contender match. The winner gets a shot at the tag team titles at the next House of Hardcore show. Will the Dirty White Boy's power and experience let them stop the unstoppable Canadian monsters?

While all attention is being drawn to Dark Watch's new monster or Aldous Blackfriar's record breaking reign as IPW Champion, Lug Phelon has continually been climbing up the ranks hungry for his first taste at the championship belt. Now Lug wants to take down Remmy Skye, currently the fan favorite, to secure his shot at the championship. Remmy has agreed to the customary Last Man Standing match. Will Lug continue his winning streak? Will the Irish Warrior have it in him to battle his way to the top? Or will Psyche Out Remmy Skye get inside his head and secure a rematch for himself?

Demonstrating continual growth, rookie tag team the Hot Taggs are being signed on to join the IPW tag team division. Although just recently joining the wrestling industry these two brothers are already electrifying the West Coast with their rough and tumble brawling style, just what the hardcore fans of IPW are clamoring for. With the recent turnover of the IPW Tag Team title belts the entire tag team division is in chaos to establish a new pecking order and figure out who is the king of the pile to take a shot at the Deadly Outlaws.

 

Frantic Ali Refuses Match with JOJI!

Despite JOJI continually calling him out, Frantic Ali has once again decided not to face JOJI in a match. Frantic Ali has exercised his right as a main eventer to refuse the match that JOJI so desperately craves. Commissioner Tanner has promised to review the rules to find out if there is a way to force the match but for now it seems that JOJI will remain beneath Frantic Ali's notice.

In a pre-show bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Barnaby & Rudge defeated Remmy Honeyman and Kid Fantastic in 12:33 when Ash Barnaby pinned Remmy Honeyman with a Double Super Kick.

Vin's Note: I'm starting to get a bit underwhelmed by Barnaby & Rudge. They should be able to pull off much better matches than this. I give everyone an E-. Also Remmy and Kid Fantastic had terrible chemistry working as tag team partners together.

Rating: E-

 

Lil Henry & Fiasco Fierce vs. Manny Alvarez & PschyoMike

In a pre-show bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Lil Henry and Fiasco Fierce defeated Manny Alvarez and PsychoMike in 13:21 when Fiasco Fierce pinned PsychoMike with a Spear.

Vin's Note: Where has this Fiasco been? He pulled off a high E+ showing pretty decent control of the match. Meanwhile Lil Henry gave an E peformance while Manny and PsychoMike were E-s. Of note is that Manny and Stanley had terrible chemistry because of course they did. I've been hunting for a new lower card tag team for half a year and all I can do is find teams that don't work.

Rating: E

 

Mexican Hardcore Killers vs. James Diaz and Jerry Pepper

In a decent pre-show match, Mexican Hardcore Killers defeated James Diaz and Jerry Pepper in 13:16 when E-Z pinned Jerry Pepper with a Curb Stomp.

Jerry Pepper was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

Vin's Note: It looks like James is ready to hang with the main even roster. I don't necessarily have a place for him yet with all the current storylines but his consistent E+ performance means he doesn't have to be held to the dark matches as he was on par with Sanchez. E-Z was the higlight of the match with a D- while Jerry is still raw and needed a lot of work, dragging the match down with an E- performance. It also looked like Sanchez took a nasty hit and will have a Bruised Pec from the match. Luckily it was just a hard landing on the steel barrier and not because of a botched move.

Rating: E

 

Frantic Ali vs. Texas Hangman

In a decent pre-show match, Frantic Ali defeated Texas Hangman in 13:15 by pinfall with a Death Valley Driver.

Vin's Note: When people look back on my booking I'm sure they will comment about how much I've wasted Frantic Ali. He should be comfortable at the top of the card every event, not here wrestling in the dark with the raw recruits. He pulled a solid D even with a weak opponent and no storyline heat or crowd warmup. He even made Hangman look decent despite being raw with an E- performance.

Mary: "How ya doing, Nevada? How's it feel to get a taste of real hard hitting action. None of that 'Sports Entertainment' crap, right? My boys here will be getting bruised, battered, and bloody for your entertainment. Nothing fake about the way the ring and walls will be dripping crimson red by the end."

 

The crowd, most of which are already drunk and rowdy, roar with approval. A few beer cans go flying which causes Lug to glare into the crowd and point a finger at them as a warning.

 

Mary: "Now now lads, leave the violence and mayhem to us. You'll get your chance after the show to trash this place. That's when the security deposit expires."

 

The crowd laughs again. A chair goes sailing into the ropes causing Mary to flinch but Lug, much more experienced with the hardcore crowds, takes it in stride and bellows out at the crowd to calm the f*** down.

 

Mary: "Err...right. Speaking of expiring let's talk about someone past their expiration date. Remmy Skye."

 

The crowd pops at the new fan favorite. In his brief time in IPW and despite a mixed record Remmy continues to be one of the fan's favorites thanks to his raw charisma and incredible aerial arsenal.

 

Mary: "Yeah yeah, you love him because he's a flippy one. I get it but that doesn't make him hardcore. Not like the Irish Warrior here. Lug Phelon is channeling the spirit of the pagan of Ireland that beat the Romans, the British, everyone. You might win a battle here or there but ultimately the war is won by someone like Lug."

 

Lug beats his chest and raises his hands in victory already.

 

Mary: "Ain't nobody in IPW that hits harder or takes a beating like Lug, I guarantee. You want to have a bloody good time then you Lug here beat someone bloody. That's why Remmy, if you're listening, you're in for a rough tumble tonight. Lug's gonna knock your block off and spit down your neck. And Blackfriar, you can't hide forever. Lug's coming for that belt and as every fan here knows ain't nothing going to stop him. Now who's ready for a smashing donnybrook?"

 

The crowd roars even if they don't understand half of the weird faux Irish/British slang that "Mary O'Ryan" is putting on. It doesn't matter to them. She's attractive, she's got a sexy accent and Lug looks like a beast next to her.

The Hot Taggs vs. Minnesota Awesome

The rookies Kalder and Wolfie Tagg come roaring down to the ring for their big debut. Both Taggs grab bottles out of the audience and when they hit the ring Wolfie smashes it over his head and howls looking mean and nasty. Kalder tries to follow suit but his bottle doesn't break and he brains himself, stumbling back and the crowd roars with laughter. He tries to continue with his bit and tries again and the bottle fails to break again. Finally he just throws it at the ground where the damn bottle still doesn't break. He howls like his brother but the crowd is too busy laughing to be intimidated.

 

The Minnesota Awesomes come down, pretending like the crowd is going nuts for them when in reality the reaction is very modest. Moses alerts the crowd to get their weapons ready and as is tradition at IPW the first match barely spends any time in the ring, spilling over to ringside and then brawling through the audience. Chairs are smashed across backs, heads are shoved into the steel barriers. Wolfie and Kalder grab a crutch and use it to double clothesline Perry end over end. The actual wrestling is mostly just punching one another through the crowd and grabbing a weapon. There is a loud crack from a cookie sheet across Kalder's head but otherwise the crowd wasn't that involved in the match until it spilled into their laps. To their credit the crowd supported the two wrestlers but it just didn't have the same visual as when the giant Candian Hardcore monsters were brawling through the crowd.

 

In the end the four wrestlers brawled their way back to the center where Wolfie hit Perry with a Montana Slammer for the pin.

 

In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, The Hot Taggs defeated Minnesota Awesome in a Weapons match in 7:46 when Wolfie Tagg pinned Perry Longstaff with a Montana Slammer. pinned Perry Longstaff with a Montana Slammer.

Vin's Note: When will I learn not to pin important matches on rookies. Kalder and Wolfie have serious brawling skills and while they have potential this was just a mess. Putting them against another set of rookies didn't help anything either. Kalder was the worst with an F+ and then came Wolfie with an E-, Perry with an E and Clark with an E+. Surprisingly Minnesota Awesome looked better than ever in this match. Go figure.

Moses: "And once again IPW crowds are treated to a brawl right in their very laps. There is no such thing as a bad seat at an IPW event.

 

Luther: "Yeah if you wait long enough you'll get up close and personal with half the roster. And if you wait too long you'll become part of the match!"

 

Anslem: "Whatever. Who cares about all this tag team crap. Anything not featuring my man Frantic is a waste of fan's time."

 

Luther: "Do you ever contribute anything else? Yes, you manage Frantic. We know that. Everyone knows that. Why don't you talk about something else?"

 

Anslem: "Why? Just like my man Frantic I am focused with my eye on the prize. Frantic deserves a shot at the title. Any title. IPW Champion. World Heavyweight. Hell put him one of those other "sports entertianment" crapholes and watch him tear through their roster like a piece of paper. He'll smack the chiseled jaw right off of Nicky Champion or Rocky Golden before putting them into the mat, through the mat, whatever it takes."

 

Moses: "Which brings us to our next match where the Dark Watch faces off against Zombie Boy and..."

 

Luther: "NO! Stop! How? How does anything he just said have anything to do with Deacon Darkhold's creepy cult or pscyho clowns and a dead kid?"

 

Moses: "...isn't it obvious?"

 

Anslem: "Yeah I don't follow..."

 

Moses: "Of course you don't follow. This match follows with Dark Watch against Coulrophobia and Zombie Boy in a three-man tag team."

 

Luther: "You're a real son of a b****, you know that Moses?"

 

Moses: "Fantastic."

Dark Watch vs. Coulrophobia & Zombie Boy

Dark Watch comes down with their creepy music and candles. Deacon practically molests the leather bound book with a pentagram on the front while the Night Terrors flank him. Meanwhile the psycho clowns come down to their own creepy music, pretending to stab at the crowd with bloody knives and Zombie Boy is among them right at home. While the clowns lick (fake) blood off their knives Zombie Boy hits the turnbuckles and shouts out his new catch phrase: "Tonight! Even Death Will Die!". H.P Lovecraft meets Stephen King on that side of the ring.

 

Deacon starts in the ring and when he sheds his robes he's showing a bit more muscle than normal. It's not very noticeable but its there. He faces off against the much bigger Pierrot and hits a big slam early on to showcase that newfound strength although it doesn't last long. Pierrot an all-rounder packed with muscle and alternates between brawling and technical wrestling to keep Deacon off balance. Pierrot and Hellech tag often and the pair beat Deacon down but as Hellech goes for a pin Deacon suddenly roars up and knocks him out with a clothesline prompting a tag to Babau and the match is on in full. With this many shady wrestlers the ref Jeffery Davis quickly loses control and it turns into an all out brawl in and out of the ring. Dark Watch ends up being the underdog as Zombie Boy ends up pinning Moroi while everyone else was busy however before they can capitalize on their advantage both Zombie Boy and Hellech are pinned in rapid succession. Babua is bludgeoned on a steel barrier and is pinned before Deacon can break it up leaving it as Deacon and Pierrot once again in the final minutes of the match. This time though Deacon has a chair and beats Pierrot down before picking up the pin and the final win.

 

In a decent match, The Dark Watch (Deacon Darkhold, Babau and Moroi) defeated Zombie Boy and Coulrophobia in an Elimination match in 12:25; Moroi was eliminated first, then Zombie Boy, then Hellech, then Babau, and finally Pierrot.

Vin's Note: Pierrot and Babau were both the ones that held the match together and both put on solid D- performances. Those two really are the stars of the tag team and it is a constant debate whether to spin them solo or keep them in the tag divisions to help the others. Deacon and Hellech pulled off strong E+ performances while Moroi and Zombie Boy were Es. As usual the crowd shouted 'You Suck" at Moroi and cheered when Zombie Boy flung himself off the turnbuckle and onto the steel barrier in a crazy bump even though nobody asked him to.

Luther: "So is this about to become a thing? Cultists versus Clowns?"

 

Anslem: "I suspect IPW is going to have to shill out big time for special effects if that happens. You can't have a creepy psycho murder feud without getting a bit flashy."

 

Luther: "Yeah, you're probably right. Still a guy can dream, can't he?"

 

Moses: "Speaking of..."

 

Luther: "NO! NO! NOT AGAIN! You are NOT using the last thing I said to awkwardly transition to the next match. You are going to learn to do it properly."

 

Moses: "...speaking of doing things properly..."

 

Luther: "NO! What did I just say!"

 

Moses: "...fine. Up next we have..."

 

Anslem: "BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP! My Man Frantic has something to say!"

 

 

But Moses is interrupted as generic rap music (catchy but unplaceable) fills the auditorium and Frantic Ali heads down to the ring. Anslem as his dutiful manager brings him a microphone and he begins addressing the crowd.

Frantic: "How y'all doing? You enjoying the show Nevada?"

 

The crowd pops a bit. Everyone likes being reminded of the place they are currently in.

 

Frantic: "Now if any of you checked the news you'd see that apparently it's headlines that I'm not fighting JOJI tonight. Or any night. I don't get it. I just don't get it. Why is everyone asking me to beat up on him? It's like me fighting a child. Oh that child might be wild, it might be misbehaving but it's still just a little kid. I fight real challengers. I am at the top looking down. There ain't anything for me to gain by lowering myself to that level and..."

He's interrupted by the sound of baboons hooting accompanied by heavy metal riffs and JOJI runs down to the ring. Volunteers and wrestlers pour out behind him, holding him back. He never gets a microphone but he just keeps screaming "YOU'RE MINE! YOU'RE MINE!"

 

He breaks free from the crowd, punching Frantic Ali. Ali starts brawling back but the two are quickly pulled away and taken back to the locker room.

 

Frantic taunts JOJI, JOJI runs out and the two briefly fight.

JOJI vs. Stanley Axis

 

"American Made" Stanley Axis comes out to his generic patriotic rock music and the boos of the crowd that hate to see him. The crowd starts chanting "Pretty Boy" at him. JOJI rushes him before he can even make it to the ring and the two brawl down the ramp and into the ring. JOJI quickyl takes control and dominates the match but Stanley keeps fighting back taking a brutal beating to the cheers of the crowd.

 

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, JOJI defeated Stanley Axis in 15:10 by pinfall with a Joji Miracle Explosion.

Fiasco Fierce hits the ring as his own music fills the auditorium. He has a mic and starts freestyling as he heads down to the ring.

 

Fiasco: "Hello Nevada! Welcome to another segment of Fierce Talk where I bring you the truth about what's on the minds of IPW's' extreme wrestlers. Now joining me are a pair you know and love, the new IPW tag team champions!"

Gunshots fill the speakers as the Deadly Outlaws head down. The Outlaw takes the mic as Deadly Deadshot paces around keeping an eye out for would-be challengers.

 

The Outlaw: "Howdy y'all. Now I'm sure y'all are pleased as punch to see yer new tag team champions here."

 

Outlaw and Deadshot pause to raise their belts to a mild pop from the crowd

 

The Outlaw: "But I'm not here as a champion, I'm here as a concerned worker here at IPW."

 

Fiasco: "Oh, you're not going to answer my questions? You're just going to go about your own agenda. Cool...cool..."

 

The Outlaw: "I'm talking about that seven-foot varmint, that big galoot that has been terrorizin' IPW recently. I'm talkin' about that demon Azathoth."

 

Fiasco: "Yeah I'm just gonna leave now..."

 

The Outlaw: "Azathoth, if you can even understand the words I'm sayin', you need to know something. Now they call me the Outlaw because I do what it takes to win but once I win, I stop. There is nothin' to be gained by beatin' down a beaten man. All you're doin' is wastin' our time. Every single time half the locker room has to come out to drag you away and it is tirin'. So tonight, in front of these great fans, I'm goin' finally teach you a lesson you shoulda learned a long time ago. I'm goin' a beatcha down, bust you open in a 'First Blood' match and then walk away, because that's what a real man..."

 

...if you hide, I will find you...

 

The crowd goes quiet.

 

...if you run, I will catch you...

 

The little girl's creepy taunts whisper out from the speakers.

 

...if you're alive, I will...

 

...DESTROY YOU!

 

With a mighty bellow Azathoth roars and storms down from backstage. Deadly Deadshot moves to intercept by launching himself from the top turnbuckle but Azathoth catches him and hits him with a massive backbreaker before dumping him into the crowd. Azathoth climbs into the ring and without any further ado the bell is rung and the match is on.

Azathoth vs. The Outlaw w/ Deadly Deadshot

 

The Outlaw is not a small man but Azathoth towers over him. The two waste no time slugging it out back and forth in the middle of the ring. The Outlaw even goes slam for slam picking up Azathoth in a big scoop slam to the delight of the crowd. The Outlaw mounts and begins raining down big fists to the masked face of Azathoth. Deadly Deadshot recovers and climbs the turnbuckle and although it isn't technically a handicap match it seems to be heading that way. The Outlaw rolls off and Deadly Deadshot flies into the air...and is caught by Azathoth. The big man had gotten to his feet and chokeslams Deadshot into the mat. The Outlaw comes charging back but Azathoth whips him into the turnbuckle. Azathoth begins slamming The Outlaw's face over and over again into the corner and The Outlaw's face is busted open.

 

In a decent match, Azathoth defeated The Outlaw in a First Blood match in 11:37 when The Outlaw was busted open.

Vin's Note: Goddammit! This was supposed to be a big match for both of them but their timing was all over the place. Bad Chemistry strikes once again! I feel like my roster is cursed, just a bunch of people who can't wrestle well with anyone else. To make matters worse both of them were off their game. This could have been a top match if they could have just clicked. Despite it all the Outlaw pulls an E+ and Azathoth gets an E

The bell rings and the ref goes to pull Azathoth away but he doesn't listen. He shrugs off the ref and continues bashing the Outlaws face into the turnbuckle. Finally with a bellow he picks up the Outlaw and powerbombs him into the ropes. Deadly Deadshot comes in with a dropkick but that barely staggers Azathoth and he grabs Deadshot by the head and flings him out of the ring. He goes back to Outlaw who is still clutching his back in pain and Azathoth powerbombs him again and again and again. The Outlaw seems like he's been knocked unconscious, Deadshot is rolling around on the mats around the ring and Azathoth stands over his bloody opponent and roars again.

 

By this time officials, volunteers, and other wrestlers come out and pull the monster away from the ring.

 

Azathoth destroys the Outlaw

Anslem: "What the hell was that?"

 

Luther: "Big Boy does NOT like being called out, that's for sure."

 

Anslem: "What kind of company is Vin running anyway? That's not a man, that's a shaved grizzley!"

 

Luther: "Remember what happened to the last guy that called him names?"

 

Anslem goes really quiet really fast.

 

Moses: "It looks like...yes, they are bringing out a stretcher for The Outlaw. Deadly Deadshot has been unsuccessful in getting him to his feet. One half of the tag team champions is injured? That puts Deadshot in real trouble. IPW wrestlers love the smell of blood in the water and the sharks will start circling if they sense this kind of weakness."

 

Luther: "How did Azathoth even get hired? Can you imagine that interview? 'Tell me about a time you worked well in a team setting.' 'RAARWWRRRRRRRR'"

 

Moses: "Fantastic. Speaking of giant barely controlled animals up next we have Canadian Hardcore challenging the Dirty White Boys in an old school brawl. "

Canadian Hardcore vs. The Dirty White Boys

 

Otis and Sasquatch are growing fan favorites for their ability to hold wild brawls all around the arena and the Dirty White Boys are more than willing to accommodate them. These towering titans deliver big punchs and elbows to one another, moving around the auditorium. Otis tosses Lead Belly into the crowd and the fans scramble out of the way as chairs go flying. When one of these big heavyweights go down they could take out nearly an entire row of people. Eventually Otis and Sasquatch pull ahead and the two of them beat down Grease Hogg near the bleachers. Lead Belly pushes his way through the crowd but Sasquatch intercepts him with a clothesline while Otis picks up the pin.

 

In a decent match, Canadian Hardcore defeated The Dirty White Boys in 11:37 when Otis Von Battenberg pinned Grease Hogg.

Vin's Note: I was really hoping this would bump up a bit. It wasn't bad, just not great. Lead Belly had some of the best moments pulling a D- , Grease and Sasquatch performed at an E+ level and Otis continued to lag behind with an E.

As fans get back into their chairs and volunteers clear ringside of broken chairs, bent baking sheets and a fan-made barbed wire gauntlet heavy drum beats and guitar riffs pump out and the crowd goes wild for Remmy Skye.

 

Remmy: "Hello my fans! Hello my haters! You don't see it yet but you will one day become one and the same! The future is a singularity that we are all rushing towards. One point where we will all converge and then everything you know will be flipped on its head. Left becomes right, up becomes down, existence becomes oblivion and oblivion because EVERYTHING!"

 

The crowd has no idea what he is talking about but are hypnotized by his movements and tone. They are eating out his hands while he spouts gibberish.

 

Remmy: "There is a great evolution on the horizon. A bad idea nobody would have thought possible that is being brought to life one step at a time. First there was nothing and then there is everything and now we must cycle back to nothingness again. While everyone pushes harder and harder to move forwared WE will move backward! We are not going to be the Evolution but we will be the De-Evolution!"

 

His voice rises to a crescendo and the crowd goes nuts for him.

 

Remmy: "So if some warrior from the Emerald Isle wants to face me so be it. Whether I win or he loses doesn't change the course we are all on. It won't alter our path. We will continue to be the playthings of gods until we are driven down into dust. So shiny Emeralds...BRING IT ON!"

 

The crowd roars in approval as the Floggy Molly-esque sounds of Lug's Entrance theme indicates the Irish Warrior is on his way down.

 

Remmy acts weird again

Lug Phelon w/ Mary O'Ryan vs. Remmy Skye

Last Man Standing

 

Lug comes down and is ready to rumble. He didn't quite understand what Remmy was saying but he was pretty sure it was an insult so he's ready to rearrange Remmy's face. The bell rings and Lug charges forward with a big clothesline but Remmy ducks it, hitting the ropes and hitting a flying heel kick to the head. Remmy springs off the ropes with a moonsault but Lug is back up quickly. Remmy bounces off the ropes again showing unusual intelligence by keeping the action on the move so Lug can't pin him down. Lug is flattened out again and again but Remmy just can't put him away. Finally Remmy climbs the turnbuckle and the crowd goes nuts but Lug gets the knees up on Remmy's splash and the momentum swings the other way.

 

Lug whips Remmy into the corner and hits a couple big meaty chops before climbing up and raining punches down. The crowd picks up the count: 1...2...3...4...5...6...Lug goes for lucky seven but Remmy shoves him down. He pops up to the turnbuckle and hits a big splash and both wrestlers are down. Remmy recovers first, dragging Lug to his feet and smashes Lug's nose in with a facebuster. Remmy goes for the pin but Lug kicks out again. Remmy drags Lug up and to the turnbuckle to set up a Skye Diver but as Remmy climbs Lug starts punching him in the side. Lug reverses it into a big superplex and both of them crash down onto the mat.

 

Mary is at ringside shouting for Lug to get back up and he recovers a second before Remmy does and starts raining down big punches to Remmy's head again. He whips Remmy into the ropes and nearly decapitates him with a big clothesline. Mary slides a chair into the ring and Lug sets up for a big DDT onto the steel chair but Remmy suddenly flips around and ends up with a huricanrana onto the chair. Lug is down and the ref is counting. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... no! Lug staggers to his feet.

 

Remmy runs towards the ropes but Mary grabs his foot tripping him. The ref just shrugs, this is IPW! DQ's are against the rules! Remmy turns and threatens Mary with a plancha but grabs the ropes and propels himself back into the ring. It was all a feint but it worked as Mary shrieks and dives for cover. Remmy turns back only to walk right into a big Gutwrench Backbreaker from a now recovered Lug. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!! Lug picks up the win!

 

In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Lug Phelan defeated Remmy Skye in a Last Man Standing match in 15:26 when Remmy Skye could not beat a ten count after a Gutwrench Backbreaker.

Backstage in one of the center's rooms sits Hustle Muvva, Fiasco Fierce, Lil Henry and Cindy all munching on popcorn and throwing it at the screen as they watch Remmy and Lug slug it out. They start complaining about how they're not main eventing any longer.

 

Tired of sitting around Hustle Muvva heads out and bumps into Aldous Blackfriar and they agree to do a non-title match just for fun.

 

Hustle Muvva, Fiasco Fierce, Lil Henry and Cindy complain about being left out of the show

In a post-show bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Aldous Blackfriar defeated Hustle Muvva in 15:01 by pinfall with a Batwing.
