January 1991 Peaking Tides [Release]

WCW didn't leave the NWA until 1993. They began recognizing WCW-branded titles in January 1991, which is different. Flair held both the WCW and NWA World titles separately until he left WCW -- he was stripped of the WCW title when he was fired in June, but held onto the NWA title until he began showing up in the WWF in September, and then the title was back on WCW television throughout 1992 and 1993. Leaving the NWA or vacating the NWA World title at the point you're at does not reflect real life, so it's not a problem, just a choice you made.

 

Also, there were really only two NWA championships at this point -- the men's and women's World titles. The NWA only introduced their own World Tag Team titles in 1992, in WCW (because WCW was still in the NWA). Every other "NWA" title was just a regional company using the NWA's name for credibility. All of those titles just changed their names and kept their lineage going. According to Wikipedia, there were THIRTEEN different versions of the NWA World Tag Team titles in 1957.

 

WCW actually left the NWA in 1991 and only recognized themselves as WCW. Bill Watts convinced WCW to rejoin the NWA in 1992 with New Japan. This is where you had the WCW World Title and the WCW International Title (when WCW got the Big Gold belt back from Flair). They didn't really associate themselves as NWA when they returned and it only lasted for about a year.

I'm confused, I'd like to download this mod but is it a 2016 conversion or a real 2020 mod?

 

All mods have at some point been converted from previous games. It’s been years since someone created a fully fleshed mod from absolute scratch.

 

It’s the work done on it after conversion that separates the men from the boys.

Tried playing this, a lot of the workers in w*ing and I assume by extension fmw refuse to work hardcore matches and also the products seem to be off, both promotions used lucha guys a lot in the midcard but these matches are penalised for not being hardcore.

Something I've recently noted with this mod is that the American economy is in the toilet, it's at 13 in every area of the states. The lowest outside is Canada with 36. Is this by design or a cock-up? If so how does one go about fixing it ingame?

Something I've recently noted with this mod is that the American economy is in the toilet, it's at 13 in every area of the states. The lowest outside is Canada with 36. Is this by design or a cock-up? If so how does one go about fixing it ingame?

 

I created a few copies of my saved game and had a play around with the economy booms/crashes narratives in the in-game editor. Unfortunately it is very difficult to micro-tweak in game. I think this is more of a game engine issue.

 

I managed to get the American economy from 13 and falling to 27 and falling, which is a little better. I did this by creating a boom at strength effect 10, and then a crash at strength effect 1 the next day. (I recommend doing this when you have a free reign of days without shows). I tried many combinations but falling at 27 is the closest in line with the rest of the world I could get it. I noticed there are two more pre-existing booms to come in 1991 anyway (in July and December) so the stat will likely rocket up again anyway. :D

 

Regardless. I'm really enjoying this mod. Excellent work from the creator.

It could be the mod, or it could be the way the game actually runs. To find out, exit your save and go into the editor. Click where indicated in the below pic...

When you click, you will see a screen that contains this information...

This will tell you if industry and economy have a set starting point or if they are random. If set to random, an RNG will determine where they start and then they will fluctuate throughout the save. In-game preferences "Strict Boom and Bust" will determine if they go all they way to 100 or 0 before changing direction.

It's possible that she was still dating Pillman when this game started, but I haven't found a definitive answer when that relationship started and Dustin's began. Her and Dustin probably just met as Dustin was going back to WCW at the time, but she still uses the Runnels name to this day. So, the data isn't too far off. As low as 13? Probably not. I did bump up the second boost in 91 from 2 to 5. Should help out the 1992 slow recovery.</p>

Clash is set to a throwaway because I was trying to get the AI to use it and control the attendance. I'm only using Normal event for big events like WrestleMania, Starrcade, or others that have extra attendance. So, normal is a bit too high for me as it was more of a TV special than an event. Got you so things are set up for simming purposes. So something I noticed that confused me, The Enforcers having 25 tag experience when the team hadn't formed yet, is so that when the AI books WCW to try to get them to use the team. So a player may want to sort of look out for things to double-check and make sure they're accurate for the time so as to not be accidentally gamey and use tag experience that wasn't really there..a small mental adjustment I can make, just seeing if I understand how it works.

Does this mod playable for very longterm (trying to get to2010, 2020) will todays wrestler join or it stops generating past 2000s?

 

You should be good for big names into the early 2010s.

 

Just got Error 3265 with this mod. Any ideas?

 

Not a clue. I got it myself working on the broadcasters after the last patch.

 

It's set to low and falling, so a problem with the mod then. Thankfully I'm not too far in so it's easy enough to fix.

 

Matter of opinion. I just started a game and it as 30 and falling. Not too inaccurate for an economy in a recession. Again, there are 2 narratives in 91 to boost the economy already.

 

 

 

I see all the broadcasting errors. Working on it. This is going to take a while.

With the new fix up, can we just move the mdb file into the folder, or would it require a delete & re-start of the save we're working on?

Hello JamHead. First of all let me say thanks for all the work you made so far into the mod.

 

I will be running an community project on it. Where users create their wrestlers, develop their careers, etc, etc. Pretty much like a watcher game but with user created companies and wrestlers, they earn money to buy attributes, skills, etc, etc... For that effect, I've added some debuting workers that were missing. Not big names either way. Added some companies. Some generated by me others that were created in 1991. Added Taker's Narratives etc, etc. As the game develops I will make a database out of the save game.

 

I would like to ask you for permission to do the database out of the save game and share it with the community where I am running this project and probably here on GDS, always giving credit to you for the base mod. Is that ok?

It would take a restart. Sadly, there's nothing I did that you would be able to simply import into your game.

I have no issue with this as long as you send me the save file every now and then so I can watch too.

By this point in time, they had abandoned the idea of strict heels and faces

 

Manami Toyota is a bigger star than Bull Nakano but from 90-92 Nakano was the ace of the company (by a big margin) while Toyota wouldn't peak until 94/95.

 

Bull Nakano leads a faction called Gokumon-To which includes Kyoko Inoue, Bat Yoshinaga and Tomoko Watanabe

 

LCO is a faction including Akira Hokuto

 

Akira Hokuto could do with a bump of her menace she was a scary lady

 

Lioness Asuka and Chigusa Nagayo had both retired, both unretired for GAEA.

 

Debbie Malenko and Sakie Hasegawa are a tag team called Japan-US Generation Tag

 

Aja Kong and Bison Kimura are known as Jungle Jack

 

The All-Pacific Championship, their 1B title, was on Manami Toyota and was more prestigious than the AJW single which was the tertiary level singles title
