TEW 2020 released!

I have to say the game is REALLY starting to become excellent to play, the fixing of the road agents notes screen has made booking a match a thousand percent better (although... you can’t remove road agent notes by double clicking anymore?).

 

But, is there no new version today? This has been my morning ritual for the best part of a month now... grab my coffee, fire up the iPad, check the patch release notes, get ready for work

 

I guess this means I don’t have to go to work?

Currently halfway through my first one of two.

 

I'll always support TEW games by buying the new editions. But TEW 2016 is still the superior game.

It’s absolutely not. I know there’s still a few teething issues and near daily patches implementing fixes, but there’s no way 2016 is a better game at this point in time.

 

I myself still have about half a dozen fixes I’d like implemented, but as of Patch 1.02 (which big change was restoring the scrolling on road agent notes) there’s no WAY I could go back to TEW2016.

 

Things like the new perception and gimmick systems, the ease with booking segments (with the exception of moving them!), the new promise system and things like booking on the fly (which I use CONSTANTLY), and there’s just no chance I could play the old version again.

a bunch of tech support topics got closed saying they'll be fixed in 1.03, so i assume we're getting one today?

 

 

I wouldn't get too used to daily updates. I think it will slow down now, given that 1.03 just had a couple of freak crash fixes.

It would be nice if the daily patches slowed down, but some of the BIG changes started to be implemented, such as moving segments and the autobooker.

Yes! The latest patch has addresses the converter making so many positive personalities into negative ones! Finally!!

Yeah, I agree. It makes every gimmick feel genuinely different.

 

I really should use gimmicks to alter the way I book people, but I don’t yet.

I don't know if they actually do anything, but it's really fun to see what you get. There are a fair number of changes I'm on the fence about, but the new gimmick system is an absolute thumbs up for me. I don't think I could go back to the old gimmick system.

Edit: I should say that has the potential to be really good. We will see how it's done.

 

Edit II: I would like it if they just reverted back to the 2016 style.

That is indeed good news. I am really getting into TEW20 right now. But the arrows and the booking screen in general is such a pain. Especially when I am booking a PPV and in the end realize I need to add a popcorn match before the Main Event. The clicking and keeping track where my little match is on that screen is such a pain.

Yeah, this is fantastic. With the latest changes to the Auto Booker for Patch 1.08, this will be all of my major concerns addressed.

 

Fantastic stuff, now just need a good Attitude Era mod so I can get deep into a long-term save.

The addition of user-suggested attributes will be interesting. I assume the Cverse won't be amended to add them to workers, so it'll be something for modders and generated workers (hopefully attributes for generated workers will be at a higher rate than it is now, as many rarely show up).

Its a shame we are having problems with AI booking after being told AI booking was a massive upgrade.

A new kind of high hitting 70 rated shows and high 70s segments as a Small company.

 

Usually when I see a company relationship change request I get all huffy and puffy, expecting the "this company has made it known they now have a hostile view of you." Blah.

I see EMLL. I get upset because I love me some EMLL and Lucha U.

They requested a talent sharing agreement. I damn near blushed.

I love this game, just wanted to share the smile it put on my face.

1.08 patch was been a great step closer to TEW 2016 level playability and enjoyment levels. TEW shouldn't feel like work.

There's some issues with the AI such as its handling of stables and a couple weird main events sometimes, but in terms of feeling like a living world, this is such a huge leap forward. I am in year 2022 and there's so many moving pieces, and seeing the new champions constantly is really good.

I love how every company takes talent now. In the past, SOTBPW and either SWF or USPW took all the talent. Just in the past couple months, SWF stole Frehley back and got El Leon. TCW stole Valiant. USPW stole others earlier in my save. I normally advance to next show so only see them when my shortlist stops the advance. It's nice though. All American companies 16 months in are still big. TCW has bounced between medium and big, but normally one would be perpetually medium and bleeding talent.

 

I love this game.
