<strong>Members:</strong> Mighty Mo & Tana the Mighty (formerly Giant Tana)</p><p>

<strong>Former:</strong> August 2016</p><p>

<strong>Notable Accomplishments:</strong> 2 Time Tag Team Champions</div></p><p> </p><p>

Mighty Meaty came into existence through circumstance rather than any elaborate plan on the part of the TCW booking team. With the split of the New Wave (One Man Army and Doc Hammond) and The Canadian Animals (Freddy Huggins and Edd Stone) the tag division was effectively gutted, leaving a gaping vacuum on the roster in need of filling. Mo and Tana were both solid midcard acts, with Mo in particular positioned for future super stardom, but neither had seen much in the way of tag team action. Yet their winning combination of Tana's charisma and Mo's athleticism and superstar 'X' factor made them a hit, winning their first Tag Titles in December 2017 by beating Syndicate members The Elite - no mean feat.</p><p> </p><p>

Both men are now positioned as upper midcarders who can tangle in the tag division when a feud needs a little injection of star quality; both have probably ascended beyond tag action at this point. Yet TCW finds itself in a familiar position, knowing that if it disbands Mighty Meaty its tag ranks will once again look thread bare, with only The Elite providing a realistic opposition to The Behemoths. As such, it seems unlikely that Mo will be able to move on to the main event scene that many believe him deserving of any time soon.</p><p> </p><p>

Mo has a strong claim to being the best pound-for-pound athlete in TCW, mixing extraordinary strength with fantastic agility. He has a million dollar look and many see him as a natural future world champion, an assessment clearly shared by TCW upper brass who have booked him carefully, making sure he is always seen as a threat to the main event scene. As of yet he has not had a shot at the World Title, though it is surely only a matter of time until that changes.</p><p> </p><p>

Tana has been around the block a few times. As a member of TCW's roster for over 15 years he is one of the longest serving active wrestlers on the roster: only Danny Fonzarelli, Troy Tornado and Wolf Hawkins have been with the company longer. However, he has never been more popular than he is right now. A perrenial midcard comedy act up until he was selected for elevation to an upper midcard slot in the wake of several high profile departures from the main event scene, few believed that he was the right man for the job. Yet he has now been regularly involved in major story lines for 3 years and has repaid the faith shown in him.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Profile is great, definitely think it will be worthwhile doing more of these.</p><p> </p><p>

Tana is actually the TCW World Champion in my RAW save (and has somehow pulled some amazing ratings) so I think I've often underrated him maybe. Pairing him with Mo seemed strange to me when I first looked at the new database but this explained it well.</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Month In Review: January 2020</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

A solid month for TCW which saw their popularity in the US increase, to the point where they are now threatening to re-ascend to the national stage. The launch of the TCW Network and TCW Network Elite will also be a major financial boon, allowing the TCW brand to reach around the world.</p><p> </p><p>

Andrews vs Taylor kept things ticking over at the top of the card, but Bach vs Chord was the real hot property of the month with fans buying into that feud in record numbers, hoping to finally see Jay get his mouth shut. Looks like they'll need to wait a little longer to see that one.</p><p> </p><p>

Looking forward, the Bach vs Chord feud will continue into February while rumour has it that the all-singles-match format of the next PPV - The War To Settle The Score - will see Mo get a shot at Peak, while elsewhere the obvious next challenger for Andrews' World Title has to be Wolf Hawkins, which should be an absolute barn burner.</p><p> </p><p>

Another strong month for the World Champion as he faces all challengers and, once again, comes out on top. He has looked vulnerable, but so far that physical vulnerability hasn't translated into meaningful losses, though a tag team defeat to Wolf and Jay could suggest a change is on the horizon.</div></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#00FF00;"><strong>>></strong></span> (6)</p><p>

Another man whose habit of winning has seen him climb the power15 rankings, Gauge bounced back from a shock loss early in the month to go 3 for 3, including a victory over the man who pinned him.</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#00FF00;"><strong>>></strong></span> (7)</p><p>

Once again back on top of the tag team mountain, Mo and Tana completed the unenviable task of taking the belts off of the threatening Behemoths for their second reign. Mo may have begun the month with some high profile losses in singles competition, but he ended it with gold around his waist.</div></p><p> </p><p>

A frustrating month for Wolf which saw him drop several places. He won where it counted, but it was hard to escape the feeling that he was just treading water.</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><<</strong></span> (3)</p><p>

Another case of the "What Ifs?" for Sammy, who once again failed to win the big one. Despite signing off the month with a strong victory over Troy Tornado, Sammy will need a big win over Chord next month to prevent further stagnation.</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#00FF00;"><strong>>></strong></span> (11)</p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><<</strong></span> (8)</p><p>

It's hard to imagine The Behemoths staying down for long, particularly with their boss Eddie Peak choosing to involve himself directly in their affairs at the end of the month. Still, they started as Tag Team Champions and finished without the belts. Not a great month.</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><<</strong></span> (9)</p><p>

A sequence of damaging losses, including two to Wolf Hawkins - effectively proving that OMA's victory in December was a fluke - sees him drop down the rankings this month, although the quality of opposition he has faced remains very high indeed.</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><<</strong></span> (8)</p><p>

For all of his talk, words can't hide the fact that Huggins lost every match he fought this month. It's only the fact that he was frequently given opportunities against main event caliber opponents that saved him from dropping further. Yet, the question remains, can he really hang at that top level?</div></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Movement:</strong> - (12)</p><p>

A quiet month for the Shocking Superstar without a televised match to his name, yet his presence on the ranking is preserved by his willingness to call out Troy Tornado. Still, his momentum is at risk of stalling if he doesn't get back into the ring soon.</div></p><p> </p><p>

Peak remained an absent figure for much of the month, only returning to in-ring action at Malice In Wonderland where he won a Television Title shot, before orchestrating an attack of Mighty Meaty two days later at Total Wrestling. However he was emphatic when he did return. Mo and Tana should be worried.</div></p><p> </p><p>

This is the first time I'm pretty confident I won't get full marks. I changed my mind a few times so it's possible I could come out with barely any

Wolf Hawkins & Jay Chord vs Sammy Bach & Edd Stone

Tough one to call. I could see you giving the W to Sammy and Edd, but after all is said and done, Wolf and Jay are two of your absolute main players and especially Wolf needs to be booked strong if you want to build him as Andrew's next opponent.

Television Title Match

They say never to bet against ???, but I'll do it in this case because I don't see why Greg should lose his title right now.

Roderick Remus vs Dazzling Dave Diamond

Going with personal preference here.

Killer Shark vs One Man Army

A good opportunity to give OMA the victory he desperately needs.

Benny Benson vs Doc Hammond

Gut feeling.

Best dynasties so far, love the way you having giving songs to the talent. Really makes it come alive.

I really appreciate that, thanks!

I'm glad you like the inclusion of theme songs. Coming up with themes which fit the characters but which also feel like someone could walk out to a ring to is one of my favourite parts of doing this.

Tonight’s show opens with an external shot of the Virginia Park Fields arena situated almost on the banks of the Potomac river in Washington D.C., before cutting to a sweeping crane shot of the interior as the show’s theme song - “The Pride” by Five Finger Death Punch booms across the P.A. system. The feed then cuts to our announce team for tonight with the play-by-play man Shaun Doakes flanked by Ernie Turner - who is in a purple suit - and Jasmine Saunders - who is not.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SD: Hello and welcome, whether you’re watching us on television, or whether you’re one of the thousands of subscribers to the new TCW Network, we’re here live at TCW Presents Total Wrestling and do we....</div>

Doakes can get no further as his introduction to the show is cut off my someone’s theme music for the second time in as many weeks...

The systemic, pulsing rhythm of Wolf’s electro theme song “HEALTH” fills the arena as he slowly, purposefully strides down to the ring in an expensive looking blue suit and a mic in hand. It’s a walk he’s done hundreds of times before and the fans know that it normally means someone is about to be verbally eviscerated.

He pauses at ringside to stare down a fan in an Aaron Andrews t-shirt who is hurling abuse at him, at one point looking like he might escalate the situation by stepping into the fan’s personal space before Wolf is gently guided to the ring by a security guard. Stepping between the middle ropes, he allows himself a moment to reflect on the crowd in front of him - most of whom don’t seem all that happy to see him - before speaking…

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">WH: I’m going to keep saying this until someone in the back listens: I’ve been in this company for longer than just about anyone else in that locker room. When Tommy - the man who was like a father figure to me - left, I stayed. When the Joey Minnesota’s and the Rocky Golden’s decided they wanted more money, I stayed. When Ricky Dale Johnson felt a bit tired and hung up his boots: I goddamn stayed. I don’t take days off. I don't get to see my kids or rehab my injuries. I’m on the road over three hundred days a year…</div>

The fans give Wolf a mixed reaction. While he is undoubtedly a heel, it’s hard not to appreciate all he has done for the company. He has entered into that middle ground where people don’t really want to boo him because of how much they respect him.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">WH: So when I turn up for TV today… when I pull into this arena at 7 in the morning - 12 hours before we start - with a 2 hour workout under my belt already, and I find out that Aaron Andrews isn’t going to be here tonight because he needs time to rehab his leg injury, well, that’s like a slap in the face to me.</div>

The crowd boos, more in response to the news that the Ace won’t be here tonight than the mention of his name.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">WH: Andrews has decided that he needs a week off for his poor, little leg. So he won’t be showing up. Which means, yet again, Wolf Hawkins is the man who needs to do everything around here, who needs to behave like an actual goddamn champion.</div>

The boos grow, Wolf might be respected and may even have a point, but the fans love Andrews.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">WH: So Andrews? This is for you. Stay home. You rest that leg. I’ll be here, like I always am. Getting the fans through the doors, winning match after match after goddamn match and putting TCW’s name in people’s mouths. And sooner rather than later that World Title is coming home with me, because it’s never been more clear than now that you’re just holding it until I’m ready to carry it again.</div>

Wolf drops the mic loudly and his theme music starts up again as the camera feed cuts back to the announcer table.

JS: Maybe we should try and get the people who want to interrupt our intro segment to sign up on some kind of waiting list?

ET: This is so typical of you two, so preoccupied with your own little lives that you’re not even listening to what Wolf is saying. He IS the real champ. He’s the man who makes TCW tick and that sounds an awful lot like he’s making a challenge for The War To Settle The Score at the end of the month.

SD: That could easily be the case, ET. But, to be honest, he’s got more pressing matters to attend to tonight…

JS: That’s right, Shaun. He and Jay teamed up to beat Aaron Andrews and One Man Army last week, and the pair will be in action again tonight as they face Sammy Bach and the 24 Hour Party Animal Edd Stone.

ET: They’ll be fine. And speaking of guys who won’t have a problem tonight, Greg Gauge’s match is still up in the air, but there’s very few men in this company who could give him trouble.

SD: The lack of preparation for the matchup must surely be on a mind as calculating as Gauge’s though…</div>

Ernie Turner snorts derisively in response.

SD: It could perhaps be seen as punishment for Killer Shark that he is going to have to face One Man Army tonight. January was a rough month for OMA, but he remains one of the toughest competitors in TCW and will provide stern opposition for the monstrous Shark.

ET: More like a nice warm meal…

JS: How original.

SD: We’re set for exciting action right now, though, as the high-flying Benny Benson takes on the technical prowess of Doc Hammond!</div>

Benny Benson vs Doc Hammond

Doc Hammond is the far slower of the two workers here and that shows in the opening exchanges as he struggles to really lay a finger on the agile Benson, whose own unique blend of high-flying offense and “Catch Me If You Can” chain wrestling serves to frustrate his grappler opponent.

The fans have loved Benson since he joined TCW, he makes each match fun with his charisma and crowd interaction, but he has often been accused of not taking his work seriously enough and this once again proves to be his undoing here as Doc Hammond scouts out Benson’s penchant for acrobatic leapfrogs over running opponents and counters one such attempt into a vicious powerbomb.

Hammond sets about subjecting Benson to a series of painful holds and suplexes, targeting his opponent’s back and legs which has most people in the arena convinced that it’s only a matter of time until he taps to Hammond’s Texas Cloverleaf. However, Benson rallies, countering an irish whip to the corner by flipping over Hammond, nailing a missile dropkick and following that up with his Shockwave From Next Year - a top-rope Tornado DDT - for the win.

Backstage now and Sammy Bach is pacing in front of the TCW backstage interview set with a mic in his hand, a determined look on his face.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SB: In retrospect, I should have seen Malice coming. I should have known that Jay would stoop to cheating to win. He stops pacing and finally looks at the camera.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SB: Respect isn’t even in Jay’s vocabulary. But the thing is, Jay, you haven’t ever won the World Title. You haven’t earned anything. I can respect your self-confidence, but at some point it becomes a delusion and you, my young friend, are delusional if you think that you’re just rolling through me like that.</div>

You can hear the muted sound of the crowd popping for Sammy as he begins to lay out his challenge.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SB: I know you hear the boys and the fans saying you didn’t earn that win, and I know how much it stings. The camera fades to black on a close-up of Sammy’s face, the yellow contacts in his eyes unblinking and focused as the show goes to commercial.

Killer Shark vs One Man Army

This match was always going to be a power-move fest that catered to Killer Shark’s limited - if physically impressive - move set, and One Man Army does an admirable job of making Shark look strong by bumping around for him. Shark’s offense mainly revolves around big slams and strikes, at one point nailing a sequence of moves which has come to be viewed as a signature of his: a big clothesline from which the opponent staggers to their feet followed by a nice-looking fallaway slam.

However, OMA isn’t a pushover and gets his own offense in; his hard-hitting brawler style allowing him to utilise most of his moveset against the bigger man. He stays competitive throughout the match and in what is viewed by the announce team and the fans as something of an upset, he is able to stagger the lumbering Shark with a sequence of clotheslines before flooring him with a Guided Missile springboard shoulder tackle for the win.

“Real Deal” Roderick Remus vs Dazzling Dave Diamond

In another clash of styles for the evening, the insufferably smug cruiserweight Roderick Remus takes on the roughneck Dave Diamond, and it is clear from the beginning that Diamond is a little desperate for a win as he cuts a pace that his stamina levels really aren’t able to sustain. Remus clearly knows that he is the fitter man and so is happy to spend his energy in the early running just staying away from his opponent, something he achieves with some success.

On the few occasions where he is forced to stand and fight Remus is easily out-matched by Diamond, but these are few and far between and ultimately this match comes down to a contest of fitness, one which the “Real Deal” was always going to win. And so it goes, as Remus is able to cap off a high-octane sequence of running moves with his poisoned frankensteiner finisher - The Hard Bargain.

We’re only back from the commercial break for a few seconds when “Kickstart My Heart” hits the PA, bringing the fans to their feet to greet the arrival of the GM and Head Booker of TCW - Jack Bruce, who walks to the ring in a suit which might charitably be described as “Flashy”. In one hand he has a mic and in the other he is pushing a small tumbler full of plastic balls, which he brings to a halt on the top of the ramp.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: Well good evening, TCW, fancy seeing you here.</div>

The fans pop for Bruce’s own dumb brand of humour.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: So, listen, we’ve got a problem here…</div>

As he is speaking he pulls a handle out of the side of the tumbler and begins rotating it slowly.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: Eddie Peak won himself a shot at Greg Gauge’s Television Title at Malice In Wonderland, but Eddie Peak also decided last week that he and his boys are allowed to just run around attacking people backstage. And unfortunately for Eddie Peak: that aint the case. So I need to find myself a new contender for that title to send a message to the Sinner Society, but who to pick? That's where these plastic balls here come into play…</div>

Bruce slaps the side of the rotating tumbler to emphasise what he is talking about. The crowd cheers slightly at the prospect of a mystery opponent for Gauge, but are cut off by his theme music.

by Dance With The Dead

Gauge appears out on the ramp with his Television Title over his shoulder. One might expect him to have something to say about this, but instead he simply stares daggers at Bruce as he makes his way down to the ring, his eyes calculating and cold. Bruce waits until Gauge is in the ring and his music has stopped before trying to continue.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: Nice of you to join us, Gauge. Ready to find out who your opponent is gonna be? No words at all? Really? The anticipation is palpable…</div>

Gauge just stands coldly in the middle of the ring, refusing to rise to Bruce’s jabs.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: You’re no fun. Fine, let’s get this thing started…</div>

Bruce gives the tumbler one last, aggressively hard spin, allows it to come to a stop and then pulls a ball out of a hinged door in the top of it. He squints at the name on it then brings the mic back up to his mouth.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: Well now, this is interesting. Gauge, tonight, for the Television Title, you’re going to be facing… MATT HOCKING.</div>

The crowd cheer lightly for Hocking, whose character has become so cartoonishly heelish in the last few months that it’s hard not to find it funny - plus he’s a talented worker. And as his music hits and he struts out on stage in all white and gold - long white tights and a cape - there is a sense that he is being accepted by the fans.

Matt Hocking vs Greg Gauge ©

If Gauge is fazed by the sudden announcement of his opponent he doesn’t let it show as he and Matt Hocking square up. He has made a habit of systematically dismantling his opponents in recent months and looks set to do the same thing again here. Hocking is a fine worker and one of the most talented midcard acts that TCW has, but Greg Gauge is a generational performer and anything Hocking can do, Gauge can do better.

The early story of the match bears this out, with Hocking using his mixed offense to try and find a chink in Gauge’s armour, but finding his attempts frustrated by the proficiency of the son of Sam Keith.

Gauge responds with a withering offense of his own, landing a beautiful northern lights suplex on Hocking and then working over his leg with a modified Indian Deathlock. Hocking is eventually able to slip out of the hold and in an uncharacteristic display of grit he gives Gauge a “Come on then” kind of gesture with his hands as he struggles to stand on one leg. Gauge happily obliges with some nasty kicks to Hocking’s obliques which sends the lightweight to one knee, but as Gauge goes for a running lariat with the intention of flooring his opponent, Hocking goes for his own running strike and the pair knock the wind out of each other.

Surprisingly, Hocking is the first to rise to his feet, though Gauge isn’t far behind, and the two exchange blows in the middle of the ring. Hocking is eventually forced back into a corner where Gauge mounts the second turnbuckle to deliver a string of punches to his head, but Hocking is able to counter with a low blow - which the fans cheer for some reason - that sends Gauge crumpling to the mat. Seizing on the opportunity, Hocking scales the turnbuckle himself and hits a quickfire Hock Shock elbow drop, then exhaustedly rolls up Gauge for the surprise win.

As Hocking celebrates his Television Title victory extravagantly in the ring - to the cheers of fans - while Gauge is helped to the back, the camera cuts to a stunned announce team.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SD: Wow! I don’t think any of us saw that coming!

ET: What a lucky break for Hocking. He could wrestle Gauge 100 times and 99 times it would go the other way.

JS: He certainly took advantage of Ray Johnson’s poor positioning to, well, abuse some of the rules, let’s say.

SD: Regardless, we have a new Television champion in Matt Hocking; a stunning upset. And one has to wonder where Gauge goes from here? And moreover, how will Eddie Peak respond to being stripped of his shot? I can’t believe he’ll take it lying down.

ET: On to bigger and better things I assure you.

JS: And speaking of bouncing back, One Man Army and Benny Benson both registered much-needed victories earlier in the night. This could potentially be a turning point for both men.

ET: Both lucky as well, frankly. If Killer Shark was on his game One Man Army wouldn’t have stood a chance. But you know who wasn’t lucky? The “Real Deal” Roderick Remus. What a performance from that young man.

SD: Hard to argue with that. He played Dazzling Dave Diamond like a fiddle tonight…

and… yes, I’m getting word that we’re going to have to leave it there. We’re catching up with our new Television champion backstage now...</div>

The camera feed cuts to backstage, where a sweat-covered Matt Hocking beams his million dollar smile at a young interviewer. They are in the middle of a conversation about the finer points of his victory. It’s hard to argue that the Television Title doesn’t look good on his shoulder.

Hocking laughs and then out of nowhere slaps Troy across the face, who responds with a right of his own. Suddenly the pair are staggering into the camera crew as their brawl spills out of control. Shouts fill the backstage area and bodies pile into the shaky shot as the security team try to pry the two men apart. Order is eventually restored but both men can still be heard shouting at one another over the fracas as the feed cuts back to the ring.

Wolf Hawkins & Jay Chord vs Sammy Bach & Edd Stone

Wolf and Jay look confident during their entrances, and standing across the ring from a man they view as past it next to a man who has a reputation for not taking his career seriously, this continues into the start of the match.

Wolf and Stone get things started and the Canadian gets the upper hand in the early running, his energy and enthusiasm combining with his unique ability to annoy his opponents to seriously frustrate Wolf, who begins to behave recklessly as a result. Jay and Wolf get into it on the apron multiple times as Chord attempts to calm him down, and in the end Jay blind tags himself in rather than persist with Wolf’s lacklustre offense. This proves to be a wise choice, as he is able to lay Stone out with a great-looking tilt-a-whirl slam.

Chord works over Stone’s head with a painful-looking neck-wrench before he and Wolf take it in turns to put the boots to him in the corner. After several minutes of this the announcers speculate that the pair of Wolf and Jay should put Edd out of his misery, but he gets a sudden hope spot - which he takes full advantage of - when he ducks a wild swing from Jay, nails a huge sleeper drop and then dives half-way across the ring for the hot tag to Sammy, who comes in like a house on fire. It’s clear that he has Jay’s number this time as Bach makes him look close to foolish with a truly dominant display, culminating in an Adrenaline Shot DDT which needs Wolf to break the count for.

A frustrated and groggy Chord rolls to the outside to get a chair as Sammy remonstrates with Wolf, not realising that Bach has scouted out his every move and is completely ready when Jay swings for his head. Ducking the first attempt and then side-stepping Chord’s wild overhead swing - which sees the chair bounce back off of the rope to hit Jay in the head, Sammy is able to lock in the Bach on Your Back as Edd Stone flies across the ring to prevent Wolf interrupting the hold, and the man who claims to be the future of TCW is forced to tap out to cap a stunning performance from Sammy Bach.

After the bell, the situation in the ring devolves into chaos. Edd Stone is flattened by a shot from behind by Wolf Hawkins who then teams up with Jay Chord to attack Sammy Bach. The fans rally behind Bach, but the numbers game proves too much as he is overwhelmed. The cheers turn to boos as Chord once again goes for the chair, but, with the metal object raised above his head over a prone Sammy, someone’s music hits…

by Fire From The Gods

Against doctor’s orders, Aaron Andrews sprints to the ring in his street gear and cleans house, sending Jay flying over the ropes and towards the announcers table with a clothesline before turning his attention to Wolf in the ring.

The camera cuts to ringside where Sammy and Chord continue to brawl, with Chord gaining the upper hand after whipping Bach into the ringpost. When both men climb onto the announce table and Jay signals for the Cradle Piledriver the crowd shower him with boos, which turn to cheers when Sammy reverses it into a backdrop which sends Chord smashing through the table behind him.

A hushed anticipation descends on the crowd when Bach grabs the chair that had been intended for his own head moments earlier and screams at Chord to stand up. Demonstrating a mean streak that the fans haven’t seen from him in some time, Bach swings for the fences and absolutely floors Jay with a sickening chair shot to the head, and the show goes off the air as “Heresy” plays once more with a close up of a down and bloodied Jay Chord.

And let's have a look at our prediction scores (as a reminder, score reset each month)!

christmas_ape: 3/5

Herrberr: 2/5

Hitman74: 1/5

Xendarii: 3/5

Lower scores this week with most of you suspecting I might be pulling a fast one with the mystery opponent for Greg Gauge, but no, Greg's off to something else...

And of course I had to finally give Sammy a big win, the poor guy has been jobbed to hell and back over the last month.

So congratulations are due to our joint winners: christmas_ape and Xendarii and I'm sure you'll all join me in hoping that they enjoy the home-made cheese from the dairy farm Ricky Dale Johnson runs when he isn't busting heads.

A Shocking Turn Of Events

CD7v4zQ.png

February 6th 2020 - Eye On The Ring, Konrad Douglas

There's an old adage in wrestling that when a company announce someone's opponent as a mystery you would be wise to bet on the mystery coming out on top. Yet when Jack Bruce pulled Matt Hocking's name out of a tumbler on Total Wrestling this week one might have been forgiven for still siding with Greg Gauge. While Hocking has had a relatively promising four year stint in TCW thus far, Greg Gauge is, well, let's be honest: he's Sam Keith's kid. He had "Future World Champion" written all over him before he ever set foot in a TCW ring and a stunning first year in the company has only enriched his reputation as one of the best workers in the world.

Everyone was shocked by the result. Everyone. Hocking, who has only really started to find a character that the fans accept in the last few months, is surely far further down the pecking order than Gauge. Yet there was one person who wasn't shocked: fittingly, the man who calls himself "Shocking" never doubted his own abilities.

Yours truly was able to catch up with the new Television Champion earlier this week to discuss his statement victory, his transition into a wrestler that fans love to see cheat and where he gets his capes.

<div style="font-size:0px; height:1px; width:900px; background-color:#000;"></div>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">KD: Matt, thanks for sitting down with us. The Television Championship suits you.</div>

Hocking sits across from me in what he probably considers casual wear, despite looking like he has stepped off of a fashion runway: a fur-collared dark brown trench coat, dark plaid trousers and a burgundy sweater, and of course his signature shades.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">MH: It is, as always, a divine pleasure to be here.

KD: I don't believe we've ever sat down for an interview before.

MH: No, and for that I forgive you.

KD: Well... I appreciate that. Let's start with the obvious shall we? Greg Gauge is a man many tip as a future World Champion in TCW. Frankly, you didn't have good odds going into that match. How did you feel before and afterwards?</div>

It is hard to ignore the charisma of Hocking, who smiles back at the questions in a way that makes me feel foolish and beguiled at the same time.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">MH: Before, I distinctly recall feeling hungry.

KD: Hungry?

MH: Yes. Absolutely starving.</div>

He perhaps senses, or sees, the dismay on my face.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">MH: Oh, perhaps you were expecting me to wax lyrical about my respect for Gauge and the opportunity to face such an accomplished star? The truth is, I very rarely think about my opponents, or my matches in general.

KD: But surely you must go through some kind of preparation, if only metally?

MH: I can only tell you the truth, which is that I focus purely on myself. I don't consider who I'm facing.

KD: Ever?

MH: Pretty much, yes. I go out to win my way. I won't let my opponent stop me from wrestling my own match, so I don't factor them into the equation. Now, does that mean there aren't men in this company I respect? No. I respect Greg Gauge's work. But do I think he's better than me? No I don't.

KD: That's a big statement.

MH: So was beating him for this...</div>

He taps the title belt on the table beside him gently.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">KD: I wonder if we might change course a little?</div>

Hocking nods and gestures for me to continue. He has a manner about him that suggests he is important, and it's hard to ignore.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">KD: The fans have taken a while to come around on you, but they certainly seem to be in your corner more and more each week now. Normally a turn like that is accompanied by some changes on the part of the wrestler. Yet you are almost identical to who you were when you joined. What do you put that down to?

MH: It's a combination of factors. First, and most importantly, was them realising that I can back up what I say in the ring. I know that how I dress and how I present myself rubs people the wrong way. I have a high opinion of myself - merited, I might add, and people don't like to hear someone say "I'm very good at this." But when that person can get in the ring and put their money where their mouth is? That changes things.

KD: And the second factor?

MH: Almost as important as the first: they realised this is just who I am. I don't pretend to be anything but this. And, to be honest, being put up against people like Freddy Huggins and - now - Troy Tornado, men who have a similar opinion of themselves to me and who the fans definitively do not like, well that helps too.

KD: So it's down to who you're getting to be yourself against, too?

MH: Absolutely. I bet the fans wouldn't like me as much if I were coming after Aaron Andrews. Lucky for him, our paths haven't crossed just yet.

KD: Perhaps something for the future?

MH: Perhaps sooner than you think.</div>

Hocking is frustratingly coy at times.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">KD: Finally, you're the only man in TCW who currently wears a cape. Where do you get them?

MH: If I tell you this you need to promise to take it to your grave.</div>

I do not point out that this is a recorded interview.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">MH: My sister is a seamstress and makes them for me. She does all of my ring gear actually. Not quite as glamorous as one might think, looking at me. But she does good work and I love to plug her business whenever I can.

KD: Plug away.

MH: http://www.jessiecullumclothing.com for all of your cape and general haberdashery needs.</div>

Preview: TCW Presents Total Wrestling - February 2020, Week 2

(to be posted by 16/06/2020)

1U9n1C4.png

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">Aaron Andrews vs Freddy Huggins

Tale of the Tape: A big chance for Huggins here to announce himself on a big stage. It has surfaced that Aaron Andrews was ordered to stay home by Bruce last week and despite (sort of) complying it remains to be seen whether he is back to 100%.

Mighty Meaty vs Wolf Hawkins & Joshua Taylor

Tale of the Tape: A non-title match between the tag champions and the ad hoc combination of Taylor and Hawkins. Wolf will be looking to bounce back from his loss last week here.

T-Bone Bright vs Greg Gauge

Tale of the Tape: Gauge looks to get back on track in this one, but T-Bone Bright is never an easy opponent and will be looking to capitalise on a shaken Gauge.

Television Title

Roderick Remus vs Matt Hocking ( C )

Tale of the Tape: After a surprise victory last week, the new Television Champion makes the first defense of his title against Roderick Remus, who has been in decent form over the past few weeks himself.

Jay Chord vs Dazzling Dave Diamond

Tale of the Tape: Dave Diamond continues to be thrown to the wolves, so to speak, desperate for a win yet facing predominantly upper card opposition. While he's a talented brawler, Chord has had his number in their past few meetings and one would expect Jay to get back on track here.

Great show, Devilb0y! Quite some shocking results in there, including Hocking's title win and the main event. I mis-predicted both of them, but the way you booked them and after reading the interview (which, by the way, was really enjoyable and made me a lot more familiar with the character), both decisions made total sense.

Aaron Andrews vs Freddy Huggins

Whether regularly or by disqualification, Andrews is going to win this.

Mighty Meaty vs Wolf Hawkins & Joshua Taylor

Wolf really needs this win, and Taylor could use it too. You might use this match as a starting point for Mo's eventual main event push, but I'd say Wolf is still too important to make him this starting point.

T-Bone Bright vs Greg Gauge

Gauge needs to win this after losing the title.

Television Title

Roderick Remus vs Matt Hocking ( C )

Goes without saying.

Jay Chord vs Dazzling Dave Diamond

It looks like DDD is the one you're using to get the L's in favour of those who need wins. I guess it won't be any other way here.

Thanks very much! I have always loved Matt Hocking. I view him as a mixture of The Miz and Velveteen Dream, to use real world analogues, so hopefully I can capture some of that in the way I write him. As for Gauge, let's just say that there are most certainly things in his future...

To peak behind the curtain with Dazzling Dave a little, TCW has an expectation for each show to contain a "Wild Brawl" and he's one of the best brawlers on the roster. Unfortunately all of the others are far more over than him, so he's basically there to put on fighting victories. He's also the wrong side of 40, so I don't know how much of a push he'll see.

I love his render though, so maybe his time will come...

Aaron Andrews vs Freddy Huggins

I may be completely wrong but my instincts tell me Huggins

Mighty Meaty vs Wolf Hawkins & Joshua Taylor

T-Bone Bright vs Greg Gauge

No doubt

Television Title

Roderick Remus vs Matt Hocking ( C )

I love Roderick Remus from his MAW days, but Hocking ain’t losing the belt. Hmm but I’m hoping for a Troy Tornado interference giving Remus the win :p. A man can dream.

Total Championship Wrestling have headed north for tonight's show, beaming across US TV and the TCW Network from Pittsburgh, and the opening shot of tonight's broadcast is of the exterior of the Evanovich Riverside arena, on the banks of the Ohio River. The announce team, as always is ready to greet the fans as the feed cuts to a shot of their desk while pyro booms throughout the arena: Shawn Doakes, Ernie Turner and Jasmine Saunders are ready for action.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>SD:</strong> Ladies and Gentlemen, we are half-way through the month, half-way to The War To Settle The Score, but believe me when I say that there are some grudges tearing TCW apart right now which are far from being settled.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JS:</strong> Rumour has it that Bruce is planning clear-the-air meetings with all of Jay Chord, Sammy Bach, Wolf Hawkins and our World Champion Aaron Andrews. Since his arrival in January he hasn't had much luck in reigning any of them in.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SD:</strong> Right you are, Jasmine. Our GM has spent this week laying out plans on social media to get Jay Chord and Sammy Bach to agree to a special type of match for the end of the month, one he feels will put their bloody feud to bed.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ET:</strong> That feud is only ending one way. Hello, by the way. I'm also here, in case you were getting bored of hearing these two speak.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SD:</strong> Both Wolf and Jay will have the chance to bounce back tonight. Wolf in tag team action with Joshua Taylor against the Tag Champs - Mighty Meaty, and Jay once again facing off against Dazzling Dave Diamond.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ET: </strong>Jay's got Dave's number for sure.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JS:</strong> Hard to argue with that. Diamond hasn't looked convincing recently, yet he remains the kind of knock-down, gritty fighter that Jay wont enjoy facing.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SD:</strong> And elsewhere "Shocking" Matt Hocking will make the first defence of his Television Title since his... well... shock victory over Greg Gauge last week.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ET:</strong> Don't expect him to hold onto that for too long. Dude's abandoned everything I ever liked about him. Pandering to the fans...</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JS:</strong> And of course, the main event sees Freddy Huggins get an enormous opportunity: a shot at Aaron Andrews. If he can win, that's almost a golden ticket for a World Title shot at some point in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SD:</strong> A big 'If' though.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ET:</strong> Not as big as Andrews would like you to believe.</p><p> </p><p>

The fans rise to their feet as the opening chords of Aaron Andrews' theme song hits the arena, making their voices heard to greet the appearance of their World Champion, who walks confidently down to the ring - still with a slight limp - in his red and white tights and taped hands.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>AA:</strong> Pittsburgh, welcome to Total Wrestling. I'm not gonna stand on ceremony; I've got business to attend to. Bruce wants me to break bread with the Wolf, so let's break some bread. Hawkins, get your ass out here.</div></p><p> </p><p>

A long, agonising silence - punctuated only by the fans - follows Andrews' demand. Wolf doesn't play to anyone's tune but his own, and it takes a good thirty seconds for his theme music to hit.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="T1nxS5x.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/T1nxS5x.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

Wolf Hawkins never does anything by halves. The arena goes dark, dry ice coats the ramp and green laser beams shine upwards from the stage to announce his arrival. Wolf also appears in his working gear. Long black tights, white boots, and a face which says he's about to do something nasty to someone. After stepping into the ring, he and Andrews come face to face and the sense of anticipation in the arena is palpable. Surely these two are only seconds away from coming to blows? But the Ace blinks first, smiling and turning his back on his old enemy.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>AA:</strong> I wanna start by complimenting you, Wolf. You got a win over me two weeks ago. No point pretending it didn't happen. You and Jay are a hell of a team. Hell of a team. So good in fact...</div></p><p> </p><p>

He steps back up to Wolf so the pair are nose to nose.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>WH:</strong> Aaron, Aaron, Aaron, you got that email from Bruce the same as me. <strong>AA:</strong> Provocative is questioning my work ethic, Wolf. Unlike you, I actually earned my spot in this company rather than being handed it by Uncle Tommy.</div></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd give that a mixed response. Sensing that, "Ace" backs off a little.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm hot-blooded by nature and I'm letting my emotions get the better of me. The fact of the matter is this, Wolf: you're the King of Kings and you're owed a Title shot. And I'm happy to dance with you anywhere, anytime. But if you're saying you want us to go at The War To Settle The Score, well, that'd mean no Total Mayhem shot for you.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WH:</strong> Assuming I don't win...</div></p><p> </p><p>

Andrews grins.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>AA:</strong>Right, assuming that. So if you wanna jump, you just give me the word and I'll sign on the dotted line, man. I don't care when I need to beat you. And rest assured, beat you I will.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WH:</strong> Then I'll be emphatic so even you can understand me, "Ace". I'm taking my shot against you at The War. And if you're able to beat me, well, you can consider me done. No more title shots, no more me and you. Done.</div></p><p> </p><p>

Andrews shifts the title belt on his shoulder and spends a minute eyeing up Wolf before cautiously extending a hand. Wolf looks down at it disdainfully and spends a minute of his own considering his options before extending his own and shaking it, though there is absolutely nothing but animosity in the gesture. The show goes to commercial with both men eye to eye.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jay Chord vs Dazzling Dave Diamond</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Diamond tries to make this competitive but the writing is on the wall from early on; Jay has something to prove after submitting last week and Dave Diamond is the unfortunate soul on the other end of his wrath. The pair get into slugging matches a couple of times which really serve to highlight how tough Jay can be when he wants to be, and after one such exchange Jay tosses Diamond to the ropes, nails a snug swinging neckbreaker before picking his dazed opponent up for the Cradle Piledriver and the victory. </p><p> </p><p>

After thirty seconds or so the music stops and the lights come back on to reveal Bruce standing next to a spot where a table had once been, now replaced by the words "The Book of John" scrawled in something red across the mat. Bruce curses, drops the microphone and calls for the ring crew to come and replace the mat, all of whom - Bruce included - look around nervously as they try to understand what just happened. The show goes to another commercial on a close up of the message on the mat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Roderick Remus vs Matt Hocking©</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Roderick Remus has been on something of a hot streak coming into this, and it's clear that his intention is to try and put Hocking away early. But the new Television Champion didn't beat Greg Gauge by being easily out-wrestled, and he meets Remus' quick-fire offense with some of his own, the match breaking down into a decent display of Cruiserweight wrestling. Though Remus is quicker, Hocking has - arguably - the broader skill set, not to mention a willingness to bend the rules when necessary.</p><p> </p><p>

This proves to be unnecessary, as - during a period where he has the upper hand following a nice springboard dropkick - Troy Tornado emerges from the crowd in street wear and tries to get Hocking's attention from the apron. At first it appears like this has worked, but Hocking has the blindside attack from Remus scouted and ducks out of the way at the last minute. Remus decks Troy, sending him to ringside, Hocking nails a slingblade and then ascends the turnbuckle for the Hock Drop elbow drop and the first successful defence of his title via pinfall. Meanwhile a frustrated Troy Tornado staggers back into the crowd, clutching his jaw and muttering.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>T-Bone Bright vs Greg Gauge</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Despite giving up about 50lbs to T-Bone Bright, Greg Gauge puts on a clinic in his first match since being dispossessed of his Television Title. When T-Bone wants to slug it out, Gauge stands and slugs it out, and when Bright runs out of ideas Gauge returns to the kind of technical excellence that is - frankly - expected of him as the son of a legend like Sam Keith. To his credit, Bright stands and fights with energy, at least giving a relatively strong account of his ability to take punishment, but ultimately what was expected to be a moderately competitive squash proves to be just that. Gauge lands a sequence of withering forearm strikes and uppercuts before forcing Bright to tap out with the Proton Lock.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mighty Meaty vs Wolf Hawkins & Joshua Taylor</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Wolf and Mo have met in a barn burner of a match in January and the fans sound their approval when those two opt to open proceedings tonight. Things start hot with both men trading thunderous and punishing strikes. There's no doubt that Mo is the more powerful, but when last they met it was Wolf's experience which made the difference and it is clear to the announcers that Mo has been working hard on this part of his game in the last month. At various points he tags Tana in rather than go for a high risk move which might cost them the match, and this begins to frustrate Taylor and Wolf.</p><p> </p><p>

The highlight of the match comes when Mo reverses an Irish whip from Taylor, performs an acrobatic leapfrog over him and sending him running into a Giant Superkick from Tana before nailing a Hopes Fall spinebuster on Wolf. The crowd erupts thinking the match is over, but Hawkins somehow - once again - manages to kick out of Mo's finisher.</p><p> </p><p>

The feed at this point briefly cuts to the Sinner Society gathered around a television set backstage, watching Mighty Meaty's match with interest.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="z0jfV0p.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/z0jfV0p.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DixNgBT.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DixNgBT.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="6eKbZZR.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6eKbZZR.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="TQwYRA3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TQwYRA3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

That proves to be as close to winning as Mighty Meaty come, as Hawkins leads a rally which ends with him surprising Tana with a Full Moon Running as the Samoan was recovering from a missed Big Fat Samoan Splash, covering him for the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JS:</strong> That's really not Matt Hocking's style.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SD:</strong> And that 'Book of John' stuff? That's nothing to do with Hocking. Regardless, someone appears to have announced some kind of animosity for certain members of the TCW roster tonight and the entire place is on high alert.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ET:</strong> I honestly don't know how Freddy Huggins is going to be able to concentrate in his match next. And Wolf was obviously the epitome of professionalism in dealing with Mighty Meaty like he did with his life in danger.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Aaron Andrews vs Freddy Huggins w/ Laura Catherine Huggins</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The announcers make a point of saying this one is hard to call, though on paper it may seem like a mis-match, despite what Freddy Huggins may think of himself. Still, the former Canadian Animal is one of the hottest acts in the company with fans absolutely despising him and paying good money to see him get beaten up, and Aaron Andrews is only too happy to oblige on that front.</p><p> </p><p>

What the Ace probably wasn't expecting was for Huggins to provide such stern opposition. While he is quick to return to his familiar tactics of relying on manager interference from his sister Laura Catherine Huggins, what surprises many in the arena is the way that Huggins actually manages to stand his ground against a three time World Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

At one point Huggins is showered with boos as he rocks Andrews with a series of aerial moves, culminating in a suicide dive to the outside which changes those boos to a mixed reaction from the fans who appreciate the skill involved. However, the Ace bounces back with a demonstration of his ability to adapt by employing the trademark dragon screw of Joshua Taylor - presumably picked up in the last month - to ground the flier before springboarding him into the turnbuckle. One german suplex and an Into The Blue cross body from the top later and Andrews was having his hand raised in victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>And so, to our prediction scores. Strong scores all round this week with the only points of division being the two big matches on the card. Huggins is someone I like a lot, so don't be surprised to see him popping up in more and more main events going forward.</p><p>

<em>February 12th 2020 - Eye On The Ring, Konrad Douglas</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW as a company is no stranger to fighting tooth and nail to keep their stars, sometimes successfully, sometimes less so. In the past decade they have lost just about every main event level talent they have ever had, with the one exception of Wolf Hawkins. So no one should be surprised to learn that the vultures are already circling at the news that Jay Chord, who many believe to be the future of the company, is out of contract at the end of the month.</p><p> </p><p>

Signed as a promising youngster seven years ago, it was realistically only a matter of time until the son of Rip Chord made waves on the roster. His combination of a million-dollar look, phenomenal wrestling talent and a willingness to lean into the obvious egotistical character choice as the son of a legend made him an instant hit, and he is now arguably the best heel the company has.</p><p> </p><p>

When we reached out for comment he refused to speculate directly on where he might be headed or if, indeed, he planned to head anywhere but TCW where it's fair to say he still has some unfinished business. Saying only that he wouldn't make a decision until the end of the month.</p><p> </p><p>

So TCW have one month left of Jay Chord as a guarantee. How does this affect his ongoing feud with Sammy Bach? What are they going to throw at him to get him to stay? Can they even afford to compete with the financial juggernaughts of SWF and USPW, who we know for a fact are also very interested indeed.</p><p> </p><p>

This is, frankly, the last thing TCW needed right now. Stay tuned.</p><p> </p><p>
