</p><p><em></em></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em></em><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>January 2nd, 2020 - Eye on the Ring, Konrad Douglas</em></div><em></em></div><em></em><p> </p><p>

The wrestling world was left stunned today as former SWF superstar Jack Bruce was announced as the new head booker of Total Championship Wrestling, replacing the outgoing Brent Hill, who is said to be comfortable returning to road agent duties for the company.</p><p> </p><p>

Bruce, whose last appearance anywhere near a wrestling ring came at SWF’s Supreme Challenge 39 where he was retired by former TCW star Rocky Golden, had previously suggested that there was little interest in returning to the business in a behind-the-scenes capacity. However TCW CEO Kyle Rhodes seems to have pulled off a significant coup not only in coaxing the 47 year old out of retirement but in convincing him to return to Total Championship Wrestling. Jack, who spent several years with TCW prior to moving to SWF, had this to say when EOR reached out for a comment:</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>JB:</strong> ‘Honestly, I was pretty happy floating around my pool with a martini. I hadn’t even thought about coming back; I had a lot of good years in the industry and didn’t really have the itch to return. But Kyle and I have had a good relationship going back years, so when he called I thought I’d at least listen to him. And he made a really compelling argument. I’m not joking when I say that and using it as code for “Lots of money” by the way, if I was in this for bread I would have gone back up North or followed the social media money like Frehley.’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>KD:</strong> ‘What did Kyle say to you specifically?’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JB:</strong> ‘He challenged me. He said I’d built my own career by being the best in the world and this was a chance to help build those of others for a change. The way he said it was a joke but I know Kyle well enough to know when he’s using humour to disguise a truth. He wanted me to prove that I had it in me to shine the spotlight on other talent, and TCW has some of the best out there.’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>KD:</strong> ‘I don’t think anyone questions the talent that TCW has on its roster. But you’re coming into the company in a down period, probably the worst that it has endured in at least the last 10 years both creatively and financially speaking, does that concern you?’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JB:</strong> ‘The money isn’t my concern. If we put on good shows the financial side will turn around. And we have all the tools we need to put on good shows. I don’t know why they haven’t managed to put it all together in the last few years. Maybe I’m the shock they need to shake themselves into the right shape.’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>KD:</strong> ‘So is that your aim? To shock?’</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JB:</strong> ‘My aim is to remind everyone in this company and at home that there was a time not so long ago when TCW was considered as being a fingernail away from the top of the mountain. I’m taking us back there and then beyond. If that takes a few shocks to achieve then so be it.’</div></p><p> </p><p>

It remains to be seen how Bruce will handle the relatively unfamiliar experience of booking a wrestling show rather than starring in it, though one suspects that we may see him in front of the camera before long.</p>

The feed cuts from the introduction video package to a close-up of a new-look announce team for TCW: Shawn Doakes, Ernie Turner - who decided to wear a leather jacket and sunglasses to his first show - and the ever-professional Jasmine Saunders.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">SD: ‘Hello and welcome to TCW Presents Total Wrestling at a white hot Clover Fields arena here in beautiful Texas! It’s a new year, a new decade but old rivalries are still threatening to tear this organisation apart tonight.’

JS: ‘ That’s right Shawn, last week we saw our champion Aaron Andrews subjected to a vicious attack by Joshua Taylor which has left many concerned whether he’s even going to be able to show up tonight…’

ET: ‘That’s so typical that you immediately start talking about Andrews, always toeing the company line. I want to know what TCW plans to do to stop Bach from violently attacking promising young prospects like Jay Chord. The two of them got into it last week and frankly it’s an embarrassing look for Bach to behave that way.

SD: ‘Frankly I’m not surprised you’re already sucking up to someone. Be that as it may, we’re also going to be seeing one of the most promising stars in the world in action today as Greg Gauge looks to continue a hot streak that has seen him dominate all comers since winning the TCW Television Title in August of last year.

ET: ‘Love that kid.’

JS: ‘It’s funny how you love all the guys whose dads you play cards with’

SD: ‘Now hold on a minute folks because I’m getting word that a limousine has just been spotted pulling into the parking lot here, and it may just contain a very special guest indeed…’</div>

<div style="font-size:0px; height:1px; width:900px; background-color:#000;"></div>

The feed cuts to a camera shot of a limousine pulling into the parking lot at Clover Fields. The driver exits the vehicle and walks around to open one of the rear passenger doors but it swings open before he can touch it and Jack Bruce steps out in a bandanna and dark suit, adjusting the spot where his neck tie would have been if he was wearing one. “Kickstart My Heart” blares through the arena as he makes his way through backstage before emerging out onto the top of the ramp a minute later to thunderous applause from the fans.

unZYIMj.png

Mic in hand, Bruce asks for silence from the crowd, who oblige for a few seconds before a chant of “Welcome Back” ripples through the arena. Grinning, Bruce indulges them for a few seconds more before calming them with his hand.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: ‘It’s been a while, TCW. Nice to see you guys are as loud as ever. Who’s ready to see the best goddamn wrestling on the planet?’</div>

More riotous cheers.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: ‘Now…. now… I hate to turn up and immediately play the authority card but we’ve got some business to take care of up front. Few of the boys in the back have been taking some liberties with each other and I want to talk, mano a mano. So: Wolf Hawkins, Aaron Andrews, Jay Chord and Sammy Bach, get your asses out here right now.’</div>

About half a minute passes before “Crazy Horse” starts playing and a visibly angry Jay Chord heads down to the ring.

Seconds later, before Jay has even had a chance to start jaw-jacking with Bruce, “Heresy” booms through the arena and a determined Sammy Bach walks down the ramp.

AKLPPKc.png

by Nine Inch Nails

Bach walks past Chord, shares a hug with Bruce and then goes to sit on one of the turnbuckles where he and Chord exchange a long, hard stare. Suddenly the arena goes dark, strobe lights begin flickering up and down the ramp and the image of a wolf howling against the moon plays bright and bold across the screen as “TEARS” begins playing. Of course Wolf Hawkins gets his full entrance. The prodigy of Tommy Cornell, the man who embodies all that TCW represents - the good and the bad - slowly walks down the fog-laced ramp, his eyes fixed keenly on Jack Bruce in the ring. He pauses at the edge of the ring, looks up at the apron and for a moment seems like he is about to step onto it before pulling back and going to lean against one of the announcer’s desks.

by HEALTH

Bruce laughs darkly and makes a show of coughing and waving away the smoke and fog from the entrance. Never one to stand on ceremony, the words “Tear down…” ring out through the arena as his signature theme - “Right Now” - begins to play, causing most of the ten thousand fans in attendance to rise to their feet as one and meet the arrival of TCW World Champion Aaron “Ace” Andrews, who grins as he walks down to the ring despite the clear discomfort in the ankle injury he sustained last week.

by Fire From The Gods

Bruce gives the audience a chance to calm down before launching into his speech.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: ‘Now, you boys have been up to all kinds of no-good prior to my arrival. Paying Joshua Taylor to attack AA’s ankle, Wolf? That aint gonna fly. Brawls backstage? Sammy, you’re old enough to know better than that even if Jay isn’t. What I want to run here is a professional goddamn show, which means the four of you are going to need to start acting like professionals.’</div>

The crowd doesn’t seem sure what Bruce is getting at.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: ‘The first one of you to so much as step one toe out of line is going to hear from me, and we’re gonna have a falling out. But I figure that you might also need a little more incentive than just ol’ Jack Bruce telling you what’s up. So tonight all four of you are going to be far too busy to get into any hikinks; all four of you have singles matches tonight.

Sammy: you and Doc Hammond weren’t able to finish your match last week thanks to Chord Junior getting involved. Jay: I figure a run with Mighty Mo might help straighten you out. Wolf: you seem to think that One Man Army doesn’t deserve his spot on the card and word has it that he is MIGHTY pissed with you. And Aaron: I know you’re hurting, which is why I figured you might want a crack - if you’ll excuse the pun - at the man who did that to your ankle last week. It’s you and Taylor. Chance at revenge, Ace. You’re welcome’</div>

The crowd pops for the rapid-fire sequence of match announcements, particularly at the prospect of Mighty Mo getting his hands on Jay Chord and Andrews getting a chance to even the score with Joshua Taylor.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JB: ‘Welcome to TCW, folks. Play times over. We’re getting down to business’</div>

Bruce drops the mic, nods at all four of the workers he called to the ring and the show goes to commercial as “Kickstart My Heart” plays once more.

Sammy Bach vs Doc Hammond

In a match between two wiley veterans Doc Hammond does his best to keep Bach in a technical game on the ground but seems a little surprised when Bach is actually able to hold his own against the former New Wave member. Despite being subjected to an extended texas cloverleaf as well as numerous minor holds targeting his back and legs Bach is able to turn the tables on Doc with a well-timed corner splash after reversing an irish whip.

Putting the boots to the the technician, Bach showcases a mean streak that fans rarely see as he goes about attacking his opponent's lower body before sealing the submission win with a Bach On Your Back.

Jay Chord vs Mighty Mo

The match goes almost exactly to plan with the fan favourite Mighty Mo starting off like a house on fire, hitting Jay with a sequence of snug power moves and sending him sprawling out of the ring to recover. However after baiting Mo into a full-sprint shoulder charge into the turnbuckle the tables begin to turn and Jay is able to use his brains to overcome the difference in power and athleticism between the two men. Mo remains a threat throughout, even hitting the Hopes Fall spinebuster but is unable to make the cover. Jay ends the match with a counter to an attempted top rope superplex and an Alpha Strike cradle piledriver for the pinfall.

As “Crazy Horse” rings around the Clover Fields arena and Mighty Mo is escorted backstage by the ring crew a tired, beaten but clearly fired-up Jay Chord demands a microphone.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">JC: ‘Hey Sammy…. Sammy… I hope you were watching closely there. You’re ducking me, Bach, but you can’t hide forever. I’m coming for you. I’m coming for that spot. Your time is up, so get out of my damn way'</div>

His theme music starts up again, he tosses the mic over his shoulder and stares down the hard-cam as the show goes to commercial.

The Elite vs Flying Jimmy Foxx and Dean Daniels

The Elite make short work of the thrown-together team of Jimmy Foxx and Dean Daniels, who barely manage to lay a glove on the veteran tag team. The biggest moment of offence coming when a frustrated Foxx strikes a gloating Nate Johnson flush across the face. Moments later he was flat on his back getting pinned.

Benny Benson, Edd Stone & Human Arsenal vs Greg Gauge, Freddy Huggins & Troy Tornado

As the respective teams communicate and are checked by referee Ray Johnson the commentary team draw attention to the ongoing feud of words between Benny Benson and Greg Gauge, spending time discussing Gauge’s quick temper in particular. As if on cue, the feed cuts to a close-up of Gauge’s face to catch him staring daggers at Benson across the ring. Gauge eventually asks to go in first and it looks as if Benson will agree to do the same before deciding he’d rather let Edd Stone go first and grinning at the fans at ringside, who seem to enjoy Gauge being made to look foolish.

Gauge quickly puts on a clinic of mat wrestling, stretching and punishing Edd Stone but - to the 24 Hour Party Animal’s eternal credit - the Stone name isn’t just for show and Edd is able to keep up with Gauge until he misses a suicide dive to the outside. Freddy Huggins gets a tag and immediately gets to work putting the boots to his fatigued former tag partner which the fans absolutely hate to see; Huggins is showered with boos which he soaks in with relish. Huggins, Troy and Gauge take it in turns to systematically dismantle Stone for several minutes before the Canadian is finally able to hit a desperation super kick and get the hot tag to Benson who comes in flying, clearing the ring with a sequence of running moves.

After a few more minutes of back and forth the match breaks down to Benson and Gauge as the legal men while their partners brawl on the outside. Maneuvering for position in the ring, Gauge is eventually able to get the upper hand and after landing an amazing tiger suplex he locks in the Proton Lock for what seems like an obvious and expected victory. However, Benson is somehow able to get to the ropes with some help from Stone who drags Benson by his arm towards them while outside the ring. An angry and uncharacteristically distracted Gauge breaks the hold to berate Huggins for failing to keep Stone away from the legal men and in that moment where his back is turned Benson is able to score a quick school boy for the win.

One Man Army and Wolf have a bit of recent history, OMA having scored an upset victory over Wolf a month ago which cost him a shot at the World Title. Wolf clearly hasn’t forgotten this as he responds to OMA’s attempts to start the match with some clean chain wrestling by kicking his legs out from underneath him and cinching in a series of nasty-looking neck wrenches. Followed up with several spike suplexes all designed to maliciously target the neck that One Man Army had surgery on just over a year ago.

OMA fights back with a display of his raw athletic ability, over-powering the smaller Wolf on several occasions and nailing a sequence of punishing slams to the self-proclaimed Face of TCW. However, in the end, it’s not enough. Wolf hits his trademark sequence of stiff kicks to One Man Army’s head and upper body, plants him with a brainbuster and then nails the Full Moon Rising for the pin.

ET: ‘Only you could hate the man who is single handedly carrying this company into the future and - let us not forget - making sure we all get paid.’

JS: ‘That’d actually be Kyle Rhodes, Ernie. Might be a good idea to learn your new boss’ name.’

ET: ‘Er… Kyle, listen…’

JS: ‘Anyway, how about that upset victory for Benson? I don’t think anyone saw that coming, least of all Greg Gauge.’

SD: ‘Right you are Jasmine. I can’t see him letting that lie.’

ET: ‘Kyle, I just want you to know that I appreciate you hiring me…’

SD: ‘And a stunning victory for Jay Chord earlier in the night too. It takes a special kind of competitor to score a victory over Mighty Mo.’

JS: ‘I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I saw him lose cleanly. Huge win for Chord and Bach must be feeling the pressure to respond despite a victory of his own tonight.’

SD: ‘I’m actually hearing that our cameras have caught up with Wolf backstage and a situation might be developing. Surely he isn’t going to go against the new GM’s demands so soon?’

ET: ‘...I was in a tough spot financially so I hope we can put this behind us…’

SD: ‘Let’s head backstage now!’</div>

A sprinting camera man screeches to a halt in front of a sweat-covered Wolf who has just stopped to have a not-so-polite word with Aaron Andrews as they pass on their ways from and to the ring respectively.

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">WH: ‘Andrews’

Wolf turns and steps forward so that he and Andrews are almost nose to nose. A tense and excruciatingly long silence passes between them.

Aaron Andrews vs Joshua Taylor

The main event revolves around Andrews' wariness at being drawn into a mat wrestling game with Taylor, who did a real number on his leg last week in a tag match in similar circumstances. Taylor has been wrestling Andrews on and off for years and is wiley enough to know the champion's strengths, and in the early running Andrews’ hesitancy to really cut loose plays straight into the veteran Taylor’s hands.

Throughout the first third of the match Taylor continues to return to his signature Dragon Screw and works over the already-injured leg of Andrews. Around the 15 minute mark, having pushed Andrews to the point where his pain threshold is being severely tested and he is barely able to stand Taylor begins going for the Butterfly Lock which, while not a leg lock, takes advantage of a weakened Andrews. Multiple times Taylor gets the hold locked in and Andrews is forced to fight back each time, almost failing to answer a three count and avoid a ref stoppage in one instance.

The match turns when Taylor begins to show signs of frustration by attempting riskier moves, in one such case going for a Lou Thesz Press that Ace counters into a Gut Check that leaves Taylor down and out at ringside. Andrews sparks a fiery comeback culminating in an “Into The Blue” flying cross body which puts Taylor away, and the show goes off the air with Andrews holding the World Title aloft - his face barely concealing the pain he’s in.

It will be cherished. Enjoyed the show and I think especially early on in a save it being a little predictable is a good thing really, just means the readers share a similar perception of the roster with you.

Thanks very much guys! This is my first ever diary so I'm just doing my best to try to live up to the amazing work others do on here.

I'll be aiming for a show and a news post every week in all likelihood, though there will probably be another show up before the end of this week given it may or may not already be written.

New Faces at TCW

January 9th, 2020 - Eye on the Ring, Konrad Douglas

It hasn’t taken new TCW Booker / GM Jack Bruce long to make an impact on the roster with a set of signings that clearly show that he has an eye on the future.

Mi8Yim3.png

John Blackfyre

Of the crop of newcomers, longstanding fans may recognise John Blackfyre in particular. The former Blackfyre is a product of TCW’s developmental system and has been working the indies since he was released several years ago.

3i6H963.png9a08h3x.png4cLAZPk.png06oTMPr.png

Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler || Jackpot Jordan & Jake Idol

Bruce is said to be particularly high on the team of Dean Waldorf and Marv Statler, reportedly now going by the name of “American Ultra”. The experienced grapplers bring a level of technical excellence to the tag division in TCW that fans haven’t seen since the heyday of The Machines. One wonders if Brent Hill or Human Arsenal got in Bruce’s ear over that one. The team of Rich & Famous are also incredibly experienced and bring some depth to TCW’s thin tag division.

RoYGCzC.pngYbOWxDb.png3S1rsqN.pngaj6TutR.pngkdYhHr1.png

Fro Sure || Jackson Laine || Mutant || Davis Wayne Newton ||

Nelsum Callum

Elsewhere Fro Sure, Jackson Laine (formerly ‘Joffy’), the monstrous Mutant, the highly-rated Davis Wayne Newton and Nelsum Callum are all promising individuals who will provide some much needed quality to TCW’s undercard. And who knows? Maybe there’s a future World Champion amongst the bunch.

<p>Hey man. Just wanted to pop on here and say I was enjoying things so far. Looks like Bruce has made some great signings there. Blackfriar in particular could be a megastar! Have you seen all of his 'alter egos'?</p><p> </p><p>

One small tip I can give you. The divider you use to split segments and matches is great, but it could do with being a little shorter. I limit mine to 900px. Your current width is 1600px. Just a small thing, but it stops me having to scroll right to left to read the show. Or resize the web page.</p><p> </p><p>

I agree with everyone who's commented so far. Keep up the great work.</p>

Great additions to the roster! Some very familiar names for everyone who's spent more than 10 minutes looking into the CVerse. Can't wait to see (or, rather, read) them in the ring.

I'm actually not extremely familiar with the current state of TCW, so some of these predictions may be off, but whatever:

<strong>Greg Gauge vs Danny Fonzarelli</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Danny Fonzarelli is a TCW mainstay, a veteran of the ring and by no means a pushover, but it becomes apparent almost immediately that Gauge is here to make a point as he surgically dismantles the bigger opponent. Chopping Dr.Love down to size with a series of punishing strikes and leg holds before eventually nailing a nasty looking rolling leg stretch to effectively ground the big man.</p><p> </p><p>

Fonzarelli briefly experiences a second wind, landing a big lariat after reversing an irish whip and threatening to hit the Retro Rocket. But it's evident that he has attempted his finisher too early as Gauge shows he has plenty left in the tank to escape the grapple, and one big rope drop suplex later he has the Proton Lock clamped in for the submission victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>Length:</strong> 9:32</p><p>

As his music echoes around the arena, Gauge begins yelling and gesturing at the hard-cam. It’s hard to make out exactly what he’s saying, though the word “Benson” is clear enough and the general tone of his outburst can be sensed. </p><p> </p><p>

After several minutes of what can only be described as uncharacteristically aggressive celebration he stomps back up the ramp, looking like he is done. However, when he walks past a young fan wearing a Benny & The Foxx t-shirt something appears to snap inside of him. He grabs the young man by the collar and pulls as hard as he can towards the barricade, dragging the shirt over his head and the fan half-way over the railing. Gauge is eventually restrained by security but not before fully removing the t-shirt and tossing it to the ground. He is escorted backstage and the camera mics pick up him shouting “Show some goddamn respect” seconds before the show cuts to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sammy Bach & Edd Stone vs Jay Chord & Doc Hammond</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Perhaps sensing that the fans want to see Sammy Bach and Jay Chord laying into one another, the competitors in this match seem to be doing their best to avoid this happening with Edd and Jay being the first to lock up. They tell their own little story; the houses of Stone and Chord colliding in a fascinating matchup that sees Stone actually getting the upper-hand with his speed on numerous occasions. A frustrated Chord sends Hammond in and the calculating veteran soon manages to goad Stone into attempting a big aerial move which is countered and swings the momentum back in the bad guys’ favour.</p><p> </p><p>

Hammond begins to pull Stone apart, subjecting him to a ground game that is hard to watch and effectively neutralises all of Stone’s strengths while Bach - who at this point has barely been in the match - watches on helplessly.</p><p> </p><p>

After 5 minutes of this Stone is able to hit a desperation leaping side kick and the hot tag to Bach leads to an explosion of offense which gets the crowd on their feet. Bach may not be quite as athletic as he once was, but the man can still go. First Chord is sent flying off of the apron before Hammond is sent tumbling to the outside with a big clothesline, then the pair of them are wiped out by a huge running plancha to the outside leaving Bach pumping up the crowd with some good old fashioned babyface fire. However, his momentum is suddenly pulled up short when Hammond slides back into the ring and is blind-tagged by his partner, much to his annoyance. As Chord and Bach face each other across the ring the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife, and when they suddenly charge and begin hammering each other with punches in the centre of the ring the crowd roars in approval. What follows is several minutes of bruising offence from both men before the match is frustratingly called as a time limit draw.</p><p> </p><p>

If the officials thought that calling the match was going to be enough to settle things down and separate these two men they were sorely mistaken as the match descends into mayhem with Stone and Hammond brawling on the outside of the ring while Chord and Bach continue to attack one another inside. The bell rings out a constant, ineffective din as officials and security pour into the ring to try and separate the men, with equally unimpressive results.</p><p> </p><p>

A break in the crowd gives Chord a chance to try and blindside a momentarily distracted Bach, but the older worker sees the attack coming and nails a huge superkick to floor Chord before tossing him over the top rop and celebrating in the ring. “Heresy” begins playing over the PA, solidifying for the moment at least that Bach has come out on top while the announcers furiously promote the fact that these two will be meeting in singles competition at Malice In Wonderland.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Behemoths vs Jackson Laine & Fro Sure</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Fro Sure and Jackson Laine actually get an entrance and are presented as promising up and comers to watch, despite the overwhelming sense that they are sacrificial lambs for The Behemoths here.</p><p> </p><p>

Amazingly Fro Sure opts to go in first despite giving up easily 100lbs to Killer Shark who stands across from him, yet he manages to avoid the big man adeptly for the first few minutes of the match while getting his own stinging offense in. The crowd pops for his plucky display although this is cut short when he is flattened by a powerslam and tossed into the corner to make the tag. Jackson Laine is sent in and he does an admirable job of competing himself, going blow-for-blow with Titan and even staggering the big man with a series of clotheslines. However Titan hits one of his own which floors the Texan brawler before putting him away with a Titanic Choke Slam.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Joshua Taylor vs Dazzling Dave Diamond</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

It’s clear from the outset that Taylor is determined to bounce back from his loss to Aaron Andrews in last weeks main event but Dazzling Dave Diamond is nothing if not always up for a knock-down fight. Taylor lays on the stiff shots and Diamond gives them right back, and in the end it is stamina which tells the tale rather than superior wrestling ability as Taylor is simply able to withstand more than Diamond who is forced to tap out with the Butterfly Lock.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>Length: </strong>9:31</p><p>

The camera cuts to Andrews walking (with obvious discomfort) backstage in a close-up shot of his face with just the top of the World Title over his shoulder in view. Suddenly he, the camera man and everyone in the arena is pulled up short by a familiar voice.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>RDJ:</strong> ‘Evenin’ Andrews.’</div></p><p> </p><p>

The Ace turns to look at the source of the voice and the camera follows. The crowd erupts as the familiar cowboy hat and stubbly face of Ricky Dale Johnson comes into view.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>RDJ:</strong> ‘Sorry to turn up unannounced.’</div></p><p> </p><p>

Andrews grins and shakes RDJ’s hand.</p><p> </p><p>

Andrews looks slightly defensive.</p><p> </p><p>

I’m not here to talk down to ya. I just figured you might like to see a friendly face, someone who's got your back.’</div></p><p> </p><p>

The Ace sighs and for a moment he seems to let his fatigue show, his posture sinking a bit.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";"><strong>RDJ:</strong> ‘Lonely at the top, right? We, the locker room, the TCW fans, me, we’re all in this with you, Ace.’</div></p><p> </p><p>

Andrews nods and smiles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AA & OMA vs Freddy Huggins & Troy Tornado</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Andrews seems incredibly fired up going into this one, almost as if he’s just had a pep-talk from a living TCW legend. And OMA for his part is more than happy to bring the power moves when called upon and let Andrews get out some of his frustration on the egomaniacal pairing of Freddy Huggins and Troy Tornado.</p><p> </p><p>

It takes a low blow from Huggins - which earns him a chorus of boos from the fans - on OMA to change the flow of the match, at which point Huggins and Troy put on a clinic of tag team wrestling by keeping OMA isolated in their corner and wearing him down with a sequence of holds and punishing tandem offense. Andrews is eventually able to get a semi-hot tag but his ankle is troubling him enough that he is visibly struggling to mount a serious offensive. He is eventually able to hit a one-legged Into The Blue on Tornado to seal the win but it’s very clear at this point that he is walking wounded.</p><p> </p><p>

Andrews celebrates in the ring alone, OMA having already shaken his hand and made his way to the back, when Joshua Taylor appears from the back with a chair in hand.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="vlZrD5T.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vlZrD5T.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The Ace of TCW puts up a determined defense but in the end he is simply too tired, too injured to resist and Taylor leaves him screaming in pain with a chair wrapped around his ankle, having used it to violently compress the joint with a second rope stomp.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Wolf Hawkins vs Mighty Mo</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Mighty Mo starts energetically as he always does and it is all Wolf can manage for the first ten minutes to contain the sheer force of nature. However, manage he does. Wolf didn’t make it to the top of the pile by being a pushover.</p><p> </p><p>

Using Mo’s momentum against him Wolf is able to slowly tire the heavyweight out, and once the athleticism game is out of the equation and it becomes a contest of grit and - more importantly - experience, Wolf has the upper hand.</p><p> </p><p>

Mo briefly surges back with an enormous deadlift superplex - the same one he went for and missed against Jay Chord last week - (which the announce team dub ‘The Plunge’) that almost puts Wolf away, but ultimately TCW’s top predator is able to reverse a second Plunge attempt into a release German suplex from the second rope which he follows up with the Full Moon Rising for the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>And let's review our predictions. Strong scores from all involved. That time limit draw in the Bach / Chord tag match caught everyone out and pissed off a bunch of fans in the arena I'm sure, but it's all in service of a plan <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.</p><p> </p><p>

It's a tie, so we have two winners. Congrats to <strong>Xendarii</strong> and <strong>christmas_ape</strong>! TCW aren't made of money, so unfortunately you're going to have to split the prize, which is a "Best of Tommy Cornell" DVD. Hopefully you live near each other and can post it to one another or something.</p><p> </p><p>
