just_Chris309
Using version 1.04. I was playing a mod as AEW, signed the revival, made a storyline between them and the Young Bucks. Then did an angle with the two teams where one of the bucks took a stunt bump to start the storyline. The segment got penalized for "lack of anything interesting happening". Whatsupwitdat? just_Chris309
I see. Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense that a stunt bump wouldn't change that.
Kingster
If someone takes a stunt bump, shouldn't you rate them on selling, though? And the attacker on fighting? That would get rid of the penalty and make sense in the context of that angle.

How do you book a stunt bump without someone booked on fighting, selling, or at the very least acting??
just_Chris309
I just went with the angle in the mod. I'm more of a casual player, so I didn't pay attention to what it was rated on. There should be an "EWR mode" without the extra nitpicks like that.

Yeah, unfortunately from what I've seen and read, the default angle file and the angle file in the mod you're playing haven't been updated to reflect the changes to angles in 2020. Try using freestyle angles and rate them on what makes sense for the angle you have in mind. Check out the little question mark that leads you the angle section of the handbook. It tells you there what each "rated on" category means and how long you can run your angles for.

I’m really enjoying the game and exclusively use Freestyle Angles but all the confusion I’m seeing from players regarding the default angles and receiving penalties tells me that the default angles need to be fixed. If they don’t work with the new gameplay features/system then it seems an oversight to leave them in the game unchanged.
Donners
It would avoid a lot of frustration and confusion if the game warned you when you booked a segment which would attract this penalty, just like it does with some other penalties.

I only ever use freestyle angles now, but I can see why people keep getting this penalty seeing as most of the default angles are stuffed. Phreak
Was this something changed in one of the beta or full release patches or was has it been like this since launch? How did the angles being janky otherwise make it past pre-beta play testing if that's the case? Either way, I think the default angles should have been updated whenever the mechanics changed. Major oversight indeed.

praguepride
Default angles should have been fixed as far back as 2008. For whatever reason angles are just ported over untouched despite the game expanding considerably in depth. I guess the mod makers have always been there to step in but I really struggled for both angles as well as match types (when doing a hardcore fed) because the default game leaves so much undone. Angles should always be freeform but you can use "inspiration" to fill in the text but it should still leave the ratings up to you.
D-Lyrium
There should be an "EWR mode" without the extra nitpicks like that. There is. It's even called pretty much that. Options > Preferences > EWR Throwback. Not actually sure if this particular penalty is explicitly removed, but essentially everything else is.
