sabin357 Posted June 14, 2020 Share Posted June 14, 2020 __________________________________________________ SETTING __________________________________________________ Preview of New Promotions DOWNLOAD version 1.0 This mod started as something fun for myself to see what the current wrestling landscape could be like with WWE out of the picture & a modern territory system taking hold in the US again. I grew up on 80s territory wrestling & hated seeing WWE kill it off. As I played and refined the mod more & more, I started to realize that I had something on my hands that others might also enjoy, so I invested time into making it something worth releasing. This utilizes my Free Pic Pack to help make the influx of new workers drawn to the industry feel more realistic. I will be adding a few hundred more that are already created in the next update, just need to get them added to the database so that they generate properly. Special thanks to Questlove, Fleisch, landxx, & ropacm for allowing me to utilize parts of their creations in order to put this together. ___________________________________________________ IMPORTANT NOTE In light of the recent events regarding the #SpeakingOut movement, I chose to take everyone with an allegation & adjust their popularity based on severity of allegations & added relevant attributes (Horndog, Unfaithful, Personal Issues, Scumbag, etc) to reflect who they are/how they are now perceived by fans/peers. All were made unemployed, which allows people to easily delete them in the editor before a playthrough or book them as they see fit. Please try to be understanding with the adjustments/predictions that I'm making, as none of us know any actual facts about what is true/false or what will happen 6 months from now. Keep in mind that this is a fantasy mod based on the real world. ___________________________________________________ Planned updates: Additional free pics. There's quite a bit of talent available in free agency, with lots of young rookies on the way to develop too. Hope you have fun. There's a chance it might've been corrupted during download, as others have been able to unzip it already. Let me know if you have further issues after trying that. But, I do wonder what happened the bevy of WWE championships. I would think those would be valuable assets for any company. Even with WWE having a much-smaller influence with what all has happened in this backstory, any company worth its salt would love to have the rights to what has become, particularly in the US, the most prestgious wrestling titles around. If I was running one of these newly-formed promotions, I'd probably kill to bring those titles on-board (either buying them after the company closes or setting up in the editor for my company to have already bought them) to forge an extra bit of legitimacy into my company's titles' prestige. Many people use outdated trial versions of WinRar, which might not be able to handle the level of compression I used to keep the file size down. When I opened it with the built-in tool Windows has, it kept giving me errors, but using Rar Zip Extractor, it opened it right up.</p><p> </p><p> On a complete side note (and not to rush anything; I'm just curious), any idea when we might get a full mod? Unless people playtesting bring me more things that I've not already corrected, there's not much more that needs to be done. I spent weeks playtesting in my own alpha build before I even opened the beta, so maybe I managed to avoid lots of the issues that betas are sometimes plagued by.</p><p> </p><p> I'm currently doing 3 year sims to see how the new popularity settings impact the mod. For now, I think FULL is best setting for realism.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">My current To Do List:</span></strong> </p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>I have a couple minor corrections from yesterday that I ran across when playing. I ask because myself & at least one other have unzipped it with the latest version without issue.</p><p> </p><p> If still no luck, let me know & I'll replace the current link with a less compressed version.
