Bloated Roster Issues

There comes a time when all wrestling companies have to deal with a bloated roster. The Xciting Wrestling League are just the most recent company to hit that wall. Backstage reports have been surfacing recently that several wrestlers have been upset over the fact that they haven’t been used on some of their most recent shows. There are even a few that have issues with denied pay rise requests due to the company bleeding funds on wages of the workers that have been used recently.

Knowing that company can’t go on for long like that XWL management has unfortunately acquired a new item if we were talking about an RPG game called ‘The Chopping Block’. Steffi Chee, who just recently retired and was transitioning in to a backstage role with the company with a possible on screen role as well was let go. Despite being on good terms with management and there is said to be no hard feelings involved in the situation.

Bart and Brett Biggins, who were both brought in to help bolster the tag team division and both were supposedly slated to have a singles runs as well were let go as well. The Inner City Express, The Heartbreak Express, The Gilbert Brothers, Dangerous by Design, Grimm and Gram, The Boys from Yukon, The Bad Boys of Wrestling, The Maryland Alliance, The Hot Taggs, and The American Cobras due to budgetary reasons.

Toni Parissi, Fearless Blue, and Carlos Barrera, were released due to behavioral issues.

Art Reed, was released due to safety concerns when he botched a moved that injured Grimm Quibble.

Clark Alexander, Animal Harker, Brody McKellan, Bobby Thomas, were released with reasons being a mixture of creative reasons and budgetary.

Money Problems… no more?

With the reigns on the check book loosened up for the company. One would think that the ship would start righting itself on its own, but that wasn’t the case. However, the balance is in a better place now than what it was for the last couple of months, but for the XWL family they wish that it come at such a high price. The XWL got a cash infusion of ten million dollars as a result of a lawsuit that owner, Kittie Young won after being in a car accident with a police cruiser. The officer admitted that he was distracted by a text message from his pregnant wife.

It was during the accident that Kittie Young injured her back during the crash. The accident compressed several disks in her back to the degree that her career in the ring was over with or without surgery. The injury called ‘spinal stenosis’ a condition that will slowly cause her spinal cord to dry up. The doctors told her that by the end of the year she would be in a wheel chair. Definitely, Kittie responded to the doctors that she wouldn’t be in one, because she didn’t plan on giving up in the slightest. She couldn’t afford to give up in any way between running her company and the fact that she has seven children she has care for by herself.

Love Is In The Air

Love has definitely been in the air around the XWL lately. As new has come out that Findlay O’ Farraday and Becca Barton (Emma Bitch) have begun dating recently.

Chris Caulfield also recently during an online interview revealed that he and the recently retired, Suzanne Brazzle have been dating for a while now.

Even the XWL owner, Kittie Young despite her recent injuries from her car crash has found a new love interested only a year after her divorce to her husband, Rich Power being finalized. The lucky name in her life now a days is Kip Keenan.

OOC: I really hate my luck some time... I ran the show... had two injures and after that I just didn't want to write it... lol. So here is another screen shot.

<img src="http://www.hazardousraine.fwrestling.com/TEW/WickedIntent/Shows/XS5.jpg">

The injuries were Dallas McWade who broke his jaw and in the same match Bucky Block broke his neck. Dallas will be back, but poor Bucky has retired due to his injury... which will force me to speed up my plans for Charlie.

  • 1 month later...

The year 2020 and the first part of 2021 wasn’t a great year for many wrestling companies, but some of them were hit harder than others. Like the XWL… the pandemic driving down ticket sales, injuries to the likes of Kittie Young and Bucky Block that ended their careers, roster cuts due to money issues, but most of all it was the scandal that temporarily closed the XWL down that hit the hardest. While Kittie Young was away healing from her devastating back injury and spending time with her children the enforcement of Co-Vid 19 protocols fell to the wayside in the care of head booker, Jack Avatar.

The great state of Michigan stepped in and forced the XWL to shut its door until they could prove that they could enforce the mandated protocols. Avatar, without the respect of most of the locker room couldn’t get anyone to fall the protocols so the decision was made that they would temporarily shut down until Kittie Young could return. Luckily, for the company the fact that most of the roster is on handshake deals that paid by the appearance the financial stability of the company wasn’t threatened and performer were able to work for other companies in the meantime.

So the last card of XWL’s 2021 was Soul Survivor. Which was bittersweet for more than a few reasons. It saw the end of two careers as both Bucky Block and Kittie Young would both confirm their status with the company. Block would wish his partner luck in the Soul Survivor tournament. While Kittie Young, assured fans that this wasn’t going to be the end of her getting in the ring, but that it wasn’t going to be the end of her around the XWL.

As announced to everyone in attendance what some already knew and that she was the owner of the Company. So she could pop up at any time if the situation calls for it. The Soul Survivor tournament would see Davis Wayne Newton defeat Jack Avatar, Charlie Corner defeated Nelson Callum, and the two of them would meet in the finals of the tournament. Corner would go on to win the match to become the second ever Soul Survivor of the XWL.

The Freedom Force, The Easy Riders, and Those Matthews Boys waged war for the titles. This obviously wasn’t going to be the best match of the night as it was a spot fest of a match even with some of the guys in the match. However, the one thing that people didn’t expect to happen was Those Matthew Boys to win the titles! For the most part they had been a laughing stock in the tag team division. Though it wasn’t without a little help, as Nelson Callum who was still reeling from his loss in the Soul Survivor tournament and attacked Kip Keenan of the Freedom Force.

Next up, we had the debut of Tyson Blaize and I’m not sure he’s a great actor at the stoner character or if that’s all him naturally. However, as much fun as everyone was having with the new star it was always was going to end. This was never going to last as Hunter Maxwell, Philippe LaGrenier, and Jack Pryde came out and started to beat down the new comer. Blaize never had a chance by himself, but luckily he wasn’t alone as another man ran out making his debut, Xander DeColt!

Which led to a two on three handicap match between the five men. The match wasn’t anything to write home about other than the fact that the faces despite being outnumbered and Blaize already taking a good beating at the hands of the heels actually came away with the win thanks to Xander making Maxwell tap out.

Also making their debuts at the show as Yvonne Ericks and PJ Strong! Ericks took on Emma Bitch in her first match with the company. She was handily defeated by the veteran in the ring. PJ Strong on the other hand was just out to announce that he had signed with the company, but Honest Frank had other ideas for the night. He came out and challenged the youngster to take on his client, Dreadnought. PJ not wanting to turn down the challenge accepted it. Strong and Dreadnought clobbered each other from just over six minutes when the match ended by double count out.

Izzy Quick would go on to successfully defending her Fem – X title against Ava Anderson, Coco Malloy, and Teresa Perez. However, The XWL Junior Heavyweight champion, Conner Threepwood was not as lucky. As Harry Allen dethrone the champion in one of the better matches of the night. Finally, the main event of the night would see the XWL World Heavyweight champion, Tribal Warrior, defending against Ash Campbell, Clutch McKane, Findlay O’Farraday, William Tennessee, and Beautiful Bryan much to the chagrin of the former champion, Chris Caulfield.

Caulfield would track down Kittie Young to complain about the fact that he isn’t in the main event. Kittie would apologize to him for the over sight of him being in the match. Caulfield, would then ask if that means he’s going to be added into the match tonight. Kittie would tell him no that the match is going to stand as it is, because it’s the match that has been advertised for tonight. No surprises tonight, but promises that he will get the first shot at the champion when the XWL comes back.

The main event was a barn burner, but for Clutch McKane it was the longest beating of his life. As he was the only real fan favorite in the match as Findlay had been showing a darker side of himself recently. McKane survived for a while to see at least Tennessee, Bryan, Farraday, and Tribal Warrior get eliminated from the match. However, he was put away by Ash Campbell with a little bit help from his ‘agent’ Eric Tyler. Campbell wins the XWL World Heavyweight championship for the first time, but not only has that he made history for the second time at Soul Survivor. As last year, he was the Soul Survivor winner!

Was going to start a new thread to clean up since I decided to do a time jump to get to the debut of one of the main characters I have been waiting for... not saying who, but yeah... So the XWL is going to be changing slightly, but it isn't going to be drastic. Now I will give ya a chance to process the jump in time as I work on cosmetic changes to things.
