Great first show, ink625. Good to see Tully Blanchard back with the Horsemen. However, I disagree with you about Barry Windham being an odd fit for them. I assume this turns Windham into a face?

Thanks! As far as Windham goes, I don't know, maybe "odd fit" wasn't the best choice of words. He's certainly got the skills for it, I do know that much. But I guess I really just prefer him as a face and think he works better in the down to earth, hard-working, Texan role. And yes, he's definitely a face now, which admittedly also played into the decision, since I'm a little light on depth on the face side at the moment. I plan on fixing that fairly soon, but I didn't want to bring in tons of guys right off the bat.

With Parker headed to AJPW, will you be keeping Dale Veasey aka Lt. James Earl Wright? He doesn't seem to have much of a fit with the company outside of the State Patrol.

Yeah, I'll probably hang onto him as a job guy for a while, since he's got a few decent skills he could pass on to someone on the way up.

Sorry that you missed out on 'Sweet' Stan Lane. Having a return of the Midnight Express would definitely be a boost to the tag team division. But a lot of those wrestlers were definitely looking for more money than they deserve. Though isn't that what usually happened to WCW?

Well I guess I can let the cat out of the bag now, but yeah I was definitely bringing back the Express. One of the best teams of all-time! As far as the money goes, it likely wouldn't have been any kind of long-term detriment to the company, but I don't wanna start down that path or I'll have a roster of 200 by May '91.

Curious as to why Tommy Rich wasn't Ricky Morton's partner, other than for the storyline? The two of them had just beaten The Fabulous Freebirds at Starrcade 1990 the previous month.

Eh, it's just one of those "regime change" things, where I decided to ignore the recent past to do something I preferred. I'm definitely gonna do something with Rich, but I'm not 100% sure what just yet. Although I do have a few ideas.

If I'm making too many comments, sorry about that. But I would be remiss if I didn't mention the top ten thing. It's little touches like that which make a diary stand out for the time period. I appreciate that.

It's just the opposite, I really appreciate all the comments! The more the merrier!

Ricky Steamboat vs. Buddy Landel

Tempted to pick the other Nature Boy but Steamboat is just that much better.

Butch Reed vs. Tracy Smothers

I remember both wrestlers for tag teams more than singles wrestlers. Though, I think Hacksaw had a better singles run.

Stan Hansen vs. Ron Garvin

Toughest pick of the night. I like the Man With The Hands Of Stone but Hansen just lost the United States title. Though I wonder if Hansen might lose due to being loyal to AJPW.

Unfortunately you're right, his loyalty to AJPW will require me to be very careful with how or how much I push him. They aren't exactly taking it easy on guys over there. Thanks for predicting again!

Come on let's be honest when we think of Bam Bam we don't think of the Lawrence Taylor stuff we think of his ECW stuff :D

At the end of the day, it's your choice I'm still going to follow and enjoy the show but I've always seen Bam more WCW then WWF

I can remember his work as a member of The Jersey Triad, Fighting Raven and Hardcore Hak, Mike Awesome more then the stuff he did in WWF but maybe thats just me

Here's the thing though, other than the third list of exemptions, the only point of view taken into account is what Ted Turner's hypothetically would have been on January 1st, 1991. From his point of view, Bigelow had just left WCW after a second mediocre four month run in less than 2 years, both of which had paled in comparison to his WWF run a few years before that. Therefore, in this hypothetical scenario, I just think Turner would have considered Bigelow to be one of "Vince's guys" since Vince had accomplished more with him in one try than WCW had in two.

However, I could definitely see the argument that since Bigelow had been in WCW twice since the last time he was in the WWF, and Turner's got new guys running the show, that he would want to take another crack at someone as talented as Bigelow. It's all just so subjective.

Would love to see you do the unthinkable and turn Ricky heel like he wanted to in '91/'92 WWF!

Butch Reed vs. Tracy Smothers

Two undercard guys with good potential at this point imo.

Stan Hansen vs. Ron Garvin

Wanna be a trend-setter? Make this a shoot fight lol

You should definitely check out my 1991 WWF diary then! ;)

I remember I had to help out an Uncle and sit his house, and I forced myself to learn how to play TEW properly and it was with this mod. You're seriously bringing back a ton of great memories. I believe I took WCW to 2000 :) it was very fun. Such an amazing roster as well, you have a ton of different options here. I love me some Dan Spivey btw (and I have no clue why).

Yeah, even with the restrictions I've placed on myself there are literal tons of great guys to sign and push.

Spivey was awesome as Waylon Mercy in 1995 for the WWF. That character had a TON of potential.

Another good show my friend!

Thanks, Jaysin!

Missed the predictions this time ink but I'll catch em next time. Good show.

No problem, Element. There will be plenty points available before this round of the prediction contest is over.

It's time for another WCW Saturday Night! The show is looking pretty good with three top caliber matches that each could fill a main event time slot.

Ric Flair vs. Rick Steiner

In singles action, I'll take the G.O.A.T. every day and twice on Sunday. Flair is my favorite wrestler of all-time and you will never(well, rarely) see me vote against him.

WCW World Television Championship

"Z-Man" Tom Zenk © vs. Larry Zbyszko

I was a fan of the Z-Man as a child. He beat Eaton(another one of my favorites). Let's see where this run goes.

Brian Pillman vs. Jimmy Garvin

Flyin' Brian, God rest his soul, could have been a megastar.

If it were Scotty, I'd pick otherwise.

Train keeps a-rollin'!

Maybe a botched Hayes interference finish.

Thanks for predicting again, Trevor! I'll be checking your diary out later this evening when I'm back from running some errands.

I actually know very little about WCW during this time frame, besides the most commonly known stuff. With that said, I'm really digging this diary so far.

I don't know how he's behaving thus far in your game, but I'm holding out for a Buddy Landel push later in the year. IRL he's only about a year or so off from sorting out his life, was still young and still capable of going in the ring from what I've seen from his SMW run.
