WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Kanyon © vs Booker T vs Mike Awesome

WCW Halloween Havoc kicks off with a huge Triple Threat match for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. It was a triple threat match a few months ago when Kanyon and Awesome took on Sting for the U.S Championship, a match which saw Kanyon turn on Awesome and officially join the Elite Era. Since then he has gone on to reign supreme while Booker T has been left to face the wrath of the Elite Era and Awesome was left to sit at home without a job. The match gets off to a great start for Mike Awesome who takes full advantage of the triple threat rules by taking Kanyon to the outside while smashing his head into everything in sight. After beating him so much that he can't stand, the match turns to Booker T and Mike Awesome in the ring. Both men slug it out in a brutal fashion. It's not until Kanyon regains his feet on the outside, that the match really steps up a gear. Overall the match has the crowd hyped up for more. The end comes as Kanyon takes advantage of Awesome, who after hitting a devastating powerbomb to Booker, gets rolled up and pinned immediately by Kanyon to retain his WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Kanyon

After the match ends and Kanyon stands in the ring victorious with a smirk across his face, Paul Heyman comes to the top of the ramp and gestures towards the curtain. Out comes Shane Douglas and Rob Van Dam who rush to the ring and assist Awesome in beating down both Kanyon and Booker T, as WCW Officials rush to the ring to break it all up

Vampiro vs Rey Mysterio and Konnan

The match starts with Konnan and Vampiro in the ring, as Mysterio stands on the apron waiting to tag in. Vmapiro and Konnan waste no time trading rights, battering the holy hell out of each other in a pure brawl to kick it all off. Before long both men are on the mat out of energy and nursing their wounds. Konnan then crawls to Mysterio who gets tagged in. As Mysterio gets in the the ring, Vampiro gets to his feet and after a brief staredown between the two, Vampiro places his hands behind his back and tells mysterio “I’m not going to touch you”. A confused Mysterio waits a second and then kicks Vampiro, who just stands there, Mysterio then throws a punch and again Vampiro doesn't retaliate. Mysterio then looks to the crowd, shrugs his shoulders in a comedic way and then goes on a full blown flying fists of fury moment. Eventually knocking Vampiro to the ground, which is when Mysterio climbs to the top rope. Vampiro makes his way back to his feet as Mysterio stands on the top rope, after a brief locking of eyes, Mysterio jumps and hits the Super Hurricanrana to Vampiro, before clambering to get the pin and the 3 count, ending a very strange match.

Winner: Mysterio

Backstage and Mean Gene Okerlund is with Diamond Dallas Page. Gene asks how he feels ahead of his match against Nash tonight. Page cuts him off and proceeds to question WCW’s booking of tonight's card. Page says he just spoke to Jarrett who informed him that Bischoff made the Judgement that it's Goldberg vs Steiner in the main event and he has to battle Nash without the main event title. Page says he is almost tempted to walk out of the building and not come back until he is given the spotlight like he deserves. Gene tries to ask him about Nash’s revenge attack on the WCW set that happened recently but Page is so focused on not having the main event slot, that he completely fails to follow what Gene is saying and just says that “If i don't get the Main Event slot tonight, i'm just going to steal the show anyway” and walks off leaving Gene looking confused after having a one sided conversation with the “People's Champion” DDP.

Natural Born Thrillers vs Kronik

A good match for the WCW tag team Division, WCW and the Elite Era are once again represented on both sides in the bitter war between the two sides. The match is one to be proud of for both teams as they both put everything on the line, taking each other to the absolute limit from the second the bell rings. The end comes when Palumbo and Clark are in the ring and after Palumbo misses a superkick, he walks into a reversal of a big boot. Both men collapse to the floor with Clark unknowingly falling and covering Palumbo, who doesn't kick out of the referee’s 3 count.

Winner: Bryan Clark

After the match as both teams lay lifeless on the mat and ringside mats, the Music hits and out walks the XCW Tag Team Champions Doring and Roadkill. Both men make their way to the ring and start to lay the boots into Kronik and The Natural Born Thrillers as they lay spent on the floor. It's yet again left to WCW staff to restrain the XCW roster members who are making a statement so far tonight.

WCW World Television Championship

Rick Steiner © vs Mark Jindrak

After trading victories the past 6 weeks, it's finally come the time to end it all with the best of 7 series for the WCW World Television Championship. After 3 straight victories by Jindrak, Steiner then proceeded to steal the next three in desperation, saving his Title in the process. This match heavily showcases the stamina of Jindrak who goes the extra mile in this match, making Steiner look good despite his size and build. The final encounter proves to be a solid one as both the match and the intensity is high. Jindrak proves to be the stronger man in the end, when Steiner doesn't use any underhand tactics. After hitting the Mark of Perfection, Jindrak picks up the Pinfall victory and his first reign with the WCW World Television Championship, delivering the first huge blow to the Elite Era in the WCW vs Elite Era wars.

Backstage and Shane Helms is seen talking with Kidman and Torrie. Kidman is seen pleading with Helms to make the right decision on Monday and not just jump to the easiest way out. Torrie calls Helms a great friend and reminds him of the great times they've had on the road together. In the end Helms cuts them both off and thanks them for caring, he says he will do what's right for him but right now he just needs space to figure it all out.

Kevin Nash vs Diamond Dallas Page

The bell rings and immediately Page gets out for the ring. Playing the “Bigger Star” page has the referee check Nash for objects in his hair, his pads, under his attire and even has him remove his boots. As the referee gets nash to unlace his boots, thats when Page slinks back into the ring and launches a blind attack on Nash. The match that follows is close to a whitewash from DDP, who gets into the head of Nash at every chance he can get. When Nash gets any kind of advantage, Nash feins an Injury and gets the referee to pull Nash back, giving him enough time to get back in the game. The end of the match is highly controversial as DDP throws a chair in the ring, which Nash picks up but gets caught by the referee. As the Referee is removing the chair from the hands of Nash, DDP pulls out brass knuckles and cracks Nash in the back of the head with them. Page immediately goes for the cover, and after the referee removes the chair he gets down to count the 3 fall

Winner: DDP

Backstage and AJ Styles is lacing up his boots in the Horseman's locker room when incomes a jubilant Mark Jindrak. As he walks through the door everyone gets on their feet as Flair reaches to grab a bottle of champagne, Opening it and showering Jindrak with the Bubbles. A whole lot of noise is then heard as everyone is very vocally congratulating Jindrak on his win, with Flair calling it the first missile to hit the target in the war. Everyone embraces Jindrak and the segment eventually ends with a chant of “Who’s the Champ, He's the Champ”.

WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Chavo Guerrero © vs Billy Kidman vs Shane Helms vs AJ Styles vs Kaz Hayashi

After weeks of unrest between Kidman and Helms, plus Chavo costing all 4 members a shot at the title, it's come down to this. The match is yet another example of the great skill and talent that is in the Cruiserweight Division as all 5 participants look great. The end of the match is a cruel blow to the friendship of Helms and Kidman as Chavo plays them off each other so much, their mind is off the game and on each other, allowing Chavo to hit the Brainbuster on Hayashi to retain the Cruiserweight Title.

Lance Storm and Ric Flair vs Jeff Jarrett and Chyner

With The unrest between WCW and the Elite Era, it's no surprise that Flair and Jarrett have been at each other's throats in what seems a never ending power struggle between the two sides. This match has everything and more that the live crowd could ask for, by far stealing the show so far as everyone is in on their game. Jarrett and Flair both take turns to mock each other with each other's struts and locking in Figure 4’s while shouting at each other that “This is how you do it”. Lance Storm and Chyner perform solidly during the match as all 4 participants look like true stars. The win comes when Chyner goes for a low blow on Flai, but ends up reeling on the floor in pain as Flair pulls a metal Cup from his trunks. Locking eyes with Jarrett, Flair tells him to “Bring it” when from behind Storm kicks Jarrett in the back of the head with a savate kick, flooring him and allowing Flair to lock in the Figure 4, forcing Jarrett to Tap out.

After the match Flair and Storm celebrate in the ring when from the crowd comes an unknown figure who gets into the ring, at that point it's clear that it's former ECW wrestler Rhino. Rhino ends up charging for Storm and hits him with a GORE!, then gets back to his feet and faces Flair who tries to talk some reason into him. Jarrett makes it to his feet behind Flair and pushes him towards Rhino who GORES! him. Jarrett then proceeds to laugh. Then as if from out of nowhere Rhino GORES! Jarrett before hightailing it from the ring as WCW security run down the ramp

WCW World Tag Team Championship

Totally Buffed © vs Road Warriors

Just a few Weeks ago Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell were ready to retire as the greatest Champions ever, when a blast from the past, a former Elite Era member shows up with his long time partner to runin the day. Since then the Road Warriors have been unstoppable in causing a headache for the Champs. It's not surprise then, that in the opening of the match that Hawk and Animal dominate after getting into the head of the World Tag Team Champions. A good solid match with plenty of storytelling throughout, with Animal and Hawk looking like they are back in their stride after a few years apart. Although Bagwel and Luger hold their own, the Legendary force that is the Road Warriors prove too much as Bagwell falls victim to the Doomsday Device, allowing Animal to get the bitter sweet pinfall on Bagwell, his former Elite Era teammate.

Winner: Animal

Backstage and Pauld Heyman is with Jeremy Borash. Borash asks Heyman whether he feels he sent his message loud enough tonight. Before Heyman answers he invites Doring, Roadkill, Rhino, Awesome, Cash and Shane Douglas to join him. Heyman then says he's not here to answer questions or fill in the dead air between the management's ears. Heyman says he is here to take control, starting tonight he says that they have sent the warning shots, from now on the Xtreme Championship Wrestling Revolution will know no bounds. Borash asks what Heyman means by that, but Heyman tells him to go watch some of the footage from “The Ballroom” then come and ask him a serious question.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Scott Steiner © vs Goldberg

The beginning of this match is filled with loud and rawkus chants for Goldberg as it's his first official match on WCW PPV since WCW Sin in January. The anticipation for the bell to ring is indescribable as the live crowd is pumped to the max. Jarrett joins Midajah at ringside for this match, creating some extra tension with the live crowd. The whole match is slowly paced as Steiner aims to keep Goldberg in the match and tire him out, rather than let him get away with his normal burst victories. The match goes for around 5-6 minutes with everything staying clean and within the rules, that is until Jeff Jarrett tries to get involved but gets caught by the Referee. Referee Nick Patrick immediately deals with the matter by getting Jarrett to leave ringside, along with Midajah who both kick up a huge fuss about being asked to leave. After they eventually leave the match gets back to normal. Goldberg and Steiner have a good Brawl between them, taking it outside the ring multiple times with the referee allowing some room for movement on the rules, including extending the 10 count for being outside the ring and not DQ’ing them for using the outside area as a weapon. In the end the match creeps on as both ben begin to tire, eventually leading to a mishap from Steiner which allows Goldberg to hit a Spear. As both men hit the mat, they are not close enough to roll over and get the fall, so Goldberg has to make it to his knees to crawl to Steiner. As he does so, Jarrett makes a run for the ring, down the ramp with a steel chair in hand. As he gets in the ring the referee warns him that if he uses it, he will DQ Steiner. Jarrett waits a moment, seemingly taking in the referee’s advice, but eventually swings and hits Goldberg over the back with the Steel Chair. The Referee calls for the end of the match, declaring Goldberg the winner, but Scott Steiner as still champion. Leaving Jarrett to stand tall smirking in the ring

As the end graphics to WCW Halloween Havoc play, the Camera cuts from Jarrett standing in the ring to a dark silhouette of a man standing up in the rafters. The silhouette walks forward into a dull light as it's revealed that Sting is in the rafter watching the match play out. The end of the PPV then shows the face of Sting as the feed fades to black.

IF YA SMELL!

With the announce team still introducing the show, The Rock's iconic music hit, and 'The Great One' made his way to the ring...

hyjZOXV.jpg

Rock grabbed a microphone and then pulled out a small, folded piece of paper from his pocket...

The Rock:
“Survivor Series Season is upon us!! Can you FEEL it...? Can you FEEL, the electricity in the AIR...? And the 'Big... Bad' Undertaker, and a team of his choice... wants to fight The Rock, and a team of The Rock's choice... But see The Rock knows... The Rock KNOWS... Undertaker does not want to go One... On One... With 'The Great One', and a team of The Rock;s choice... The way Undertaker has acted the last few weeks, there are a TONNE of WWF Wrestlers lining up at The Rock's door... Knocking on the 'People's Door'... Asking to get in The Rock's team... A TONNE of big... bad... guys... So... For the Millions... AND MILLIONS of Rock's fans... The Great One would like to confirm his TEAM... His ONE... TONNE... TEAM... Ahem...”

Rock coughed, and cleared his throat... and then began to reel off the names on his folded list... Rikishi... Kane... and The Big Show!!

'The Brahma Bull' told Undertaker to 'Beat That', as 'The American Badass' is yet to name any members of his team...

Marty Jannetty [vs] Steve Blackman

Jannetty has been a great Light Heavyweight Champion, but this was a real test for him. Blackman is a bad, bad, man, and he kicked Jannetty as hard as he could a number of times. But the former Rocker managed to create some space and fight back into it. Eventually hitting a Superkick to score the win!

Not Going To Make It

We cut backstage very quickly following the match, where we found William Regal and Dean Malenko down on the floor!!

The new tag team had clearly been the victims of a backstage assault, and both men were holding parts of their bodies...

A Referee was on hand, calling for help... and officials arrived... It looked for all the world that they wouldn't be ready for their upcoming match!!

Another Team Taken Out?

In a pre-taped video from CCTV footage at Smackdown, another member of the upcoming Four-Way Tag Match was found beaten down backstage!!

hVTD228.jpg

Samu of The Headshrinkers was a bloody mess, lying on the floor unconscious...!!

As we came back live, the competitors IN the match began making their way out... Too Cool, and then The Hardy Boyz with Lita...

The other half of the Headshrinkers: Haku made his way onto the stage... and he spoke of Samu, and his injuries...

Haku:
“We are not going to see Samu for a long time... But luckily... There is ALWAYS a member of the Samoan Dynasty, ready to step up... So... Ladies and Gentlemen... I give you... UMAGA!!”

Too Cool [vs] The Hardy Boyz w/ Lita [vs] Haku and Umaga

With both Samu, and the tag team of Dean Makenko and William Regal, all taken out ahead of this match, the announce team asked who had the most to gain, and who would have a motive. That blame obviously fell at the feet of The Hardy Boyz, who won this match after Scott Too Hotty had dived onto the big Haku and Umaga, and Grandmaster Sexay was then double-teamed by Matt and Jeff!

The Lo-Down

Jonathan Coachman was backstage next, with his guest at this time: 'The Real Deal' D'Lo Brown!!

D'Lo was asked about The Rock's Survivor Series Team, and if he'd planned to pick anyone that Rocky had already taken...

D'Lo Brown:
“Well my first pick would have probably been The Rock!! But no, all three of those guys (Rikishi, Kane and Big Show) would have made great picks, and I'm sure they'd have all loved to have beaten up Kurt Angle and whatever idiots he convinces t...”

Before D'Lo could finish, the aforementioned Angle showed up, and interrupted him...

Angle repeated the word 'idiots' a couple of times, and made sure that anyone within earshot could hear him...

Kurt Angle:
“So you're saying... That whoever I select for my team... is an 'IDIOT'...?! Well who have you got so far?!”

D'Lo said all will be revealed, and that he wouldn't be telling Angle this soon... But Angle said he DOES have someone chosen already...

Up walked Intercontinental Champion: Chris Jericho, and 'The Ego-Maniac' confirmed he'd be on Angles team come Survivor Series...

After a commercial break, 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon brought his entire Survivor Series Team to the ring...

Ramon and co. challenged Eddie Guerrero to come out to the ring, and face them... to tell them who's on HIS team!!

Eddie's not one to back down from a fight, and 'Latino Heat' soon wondered out to a huge ovation...

Eddie Guerrero:
“Lissen, perro... I come in to that ring, and there are five of yoo... an' only one of me homes... I'm man enough to admit that those aren't odds I can fight on my own... Soooo... I paid for a little 'Apoyo'... That means... Back up!!”

The APA came through the crowd and surrounded the ring... It was still 4 on 5, but the 4 good guys fancied their chances, and attacked!!

A good, even, fight broke out, until K-Kwik went for a steel chair... Unfortunately for the hapless youngster, he missed Eddie with the swing of the chair!!

'Latino Heat' ducked, and K-Kwik clattered Test right in the face, leaving Eddie and the APA to laugh as Ramon, Gunn and X-Pac got out of there...

In the back, Spike Dudley was collared by his brothers Bubba Ray and D-Von... and they mocked their much smaller bro...

Bubba and D-Von said that Spike's performance against 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin last week on RAW was 'embarrassing'...

Spike Dudley:
“Embarrassing??... I'll tell you what... I'll show you EXACTLY how good I can be... On Smackdown, this week... I'll... I'll... I'll fight the next person who walks through THAT door...”

There was a very long pause here... Normally when people do this kind of thing, the door opens almost instantly...

'The Game' Triple H [vs] 'The American Badass' The Undertaker

A great Main Event here, with the disdain between the two men crystal clear. Triple H was clearly hampered by the arm injury caused by 'Taker on Smackdown, but he was still able to use his knee strikes and trademark offence to keep 'The American Badass' on the back foot. It didn't take long for Vince McMahon and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin to head to the ring and lament the referee. But The Rock also came out, and with the referee distracted, he was able to hit 'Rock Bottom' on his rival Undertaker. Austin got into the ring, and Rock 'Rock Bottomed' him too! It wasn't long after that that Triple H would hit his 'Pedigree', which looked awkward as he essentially attempted it one handed! But it did the job, and 'The Game' got the win!

The WWF are looking to expand their Light Heavyweight Division at the moment. They feel it's the one weak division in their roster, and there are a number of options available to them to improve things. After the Champion Marty Jannetty and his challenger Jerry Lynn battle again at Survivor Series, WWF Fans can expect to see some new faces in the division. Rumours are that current roster members like X-Pac, Spike Dudley and Too Cool could potentially move into the division. Crash Holly has mentioned on television that he could shed the weight needed (around 200lbs) to qualify for a Light Heavyweight Title shot too! Crash was LHW Champion early in 2001, in a pretty forgettable reign. But he's returning to his 400+lb gimmick with his cousins. Will there be new faces from signings, or promotions from developmental to help bolster the roster? Stay tuned on that one, but we're hearing that yes there will be!

As the WCW Nitro fireworks stop, the music of the Natureboy Ric Flair hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Flair gets on the microphone as soon as he gets into the ring and begins to talk about the crushing defeats the Elite Era suffered last night. Flair says not only did the Elite Era lose the Tag Team and Television titles, but Jarrett himself tapped out in the middle of the ring to the better man, “Thee Man”.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/RosterNEW01/Staff/%23PRESjeffjarrett.jpg

With that the music of Double J hits, and out he walks. Jarrett starts to talk on his way to the ring. Jarrett calls Flair an a***hole, referring to him as old news in the new Era of the Elite. Jarrett says that last night was a hiccup, that even perfect athletes like those in the Elite Era will mess up. He says Flair may have something to celebrate tonight, but this time next week, the Elite Era will once again be the talk of the locker room.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/RosterNEW01/xcwpaulheyman.jpg

With that the Music of Paul Heyman hits. Paul Heyman comes bouncing out to the stage and starts saying “AHEM, AHEM” to which Jarrett asks what he wants. Heyman says he is not sure if Flair or Jarrett remember too well, but last night wasn't the night of either WCW or The Elite Era, Heyman says the XCW sent a message loud and clear to the whole of the locker room, including both of them with a GORE! From Rhino. Heyman then offers them a little insite, telling them that maybe next week it won't be Team WCW or Team Elite Era that everyone is talking about, maybe it's team Xtreme Championship Wrestling. With that Heyman drops the mic and walks backstage as the show cuts to commercial.

Backstage and Mark Jindrak is gathering with the rest of the Nu-Horsemen. They are still celebrating from the previous night. Arn Anderson stands up and highlights the magnitude of what went down last night, calling it the “First Big Strike” to the existence of the Elite Era. Jindrak thanks everyone for the help and says he couldn't have done it without Candido being his sparring partner the past few weeks. The segment ends as the camera pans to the locker room stalls where the WCW Television title sits, surrounded by Horsemen related Memorabilia.

Backstage after the commercial break and we see Big Vito and Johnny the Bull walking through the corridor, before bumping into two former members of Heyman’s Xtreme promotion. Standing in their way is Guido and Tony Mamaluke of the F.B.I who look them up and down before laughing at them. Heyman then walks into the shot and says “Stick em”. Guido and Mamaluke then get into a brawk with Vito and Stamboli that gets hardcore. Mamaluke and Guido end up getting the upper hand and leave them out on the floor. In the scuffle, Vito’s leather jacket comes off which displays the Italian flag on it's back. Guido picks it up and tells an unconscious Vito “That's mine, you don't deserve to carry the flag”. Heyman then taps them both on the back, congratulating them as he walks them off.

Hot off the heels of victories at Halloween Havoc, Kronik immediately get a shot at the NEW World Tag Team Champions. In a slow, heavy hitting match between the two teams, the win came for the Road Warriors thanks to a distraction from O’Haire and Palumbo who showed up at the top of the stage.

After the match O’Haire and Palumbo rush to the ring and launch an attack on Kronik as the Road Warriors step back. In no time the former Champs Bagwell and Luger rush to the ring to get some revenge after losing the titles and to help even the playing field, saving fellow Elite Era members from a one sided attack. In the end it erupts into an uncontrollable brawl that works it's way backstage and away from the live crowd.

Nash is backstage unpacking his case in the locker room when Rey Mysterio walks in to check on Nash. Nash is visibly angry and struggles to string words together he’s so mad at the actions of Page last night. Mysterio tries to settle him down, calling Page a coward for the way he acted in the match last night. Mysterio says he will get another chance at Page and to store that anger for when he gets his hands on him. Nash thanks Mysterio and says it's nice to know he has one friend who won't stab him in the back.

Now back to the ring and the Music of Heymans XCW hits and out walks Heyman to the stage with a Microphone in hand. That's when Heyman starts to introduce everyone of his XCW Roster to the live crowd. Heyman introduces XCW World and TV Champion Rhino fist, followed by XCW Tag Champions RoadKill and Danny Doring, before introducing the rest of the roster. There is one notably missing however. Heyman then walks to the ring and joins everyone. Heyman says before your very eyes is the future, calling his band of misfits a Revolution in WCW. Heyman then says that he and Rhino were talking earlier tonight and it doesn't seem right to hold and defend both titles in such a hostile environment, so he has decided to hand it over to a worthy star who has been screwed over by WCW far too many times this past year.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/RosterNEW01/xcwmikeawesome.jpg

That's when Heyman calls out Mike Awesome. Awesome comes out with an upset expression on his face, getting into the ring before being handed the XCW Television Championship. Awesome drops to his knees and sheds a tear before getting back to his feet and promising not to let Heyman, Rhino or team XCW down. Heyman then says that he has his first defence next, just to show the world how dominant he can be as Champion. With that the XCW roster started to clear the ring.

Backstage and Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman are sitting in the Arenas canteen talking over a coffee when Shannon Moore and Evan Karagias walk in. Spotting Kidman, the two 3 Count members head straight for him and ask him “Have you seen Helms yet”. Kidman tells them that he hasn't heard off Helms since last night after their Cruiserweight Championship match. Torrie says she spoke to security a little while ago who told her that he hadn't arrived at the arena at last check. Moore questions what he's playing at, saying he promised us an answer tonight. Kidman says he knows as much as them right now and says he wants an answer too because he is sick of all the drama. Moor and Karagias seem happy with the response and make their excuses before heading to get some food for themselves as Torrie is left asking Kidman “What is going on in his head, he should be here”.

The Music of Scott Steiner now hits as he comes through the curtain with Midajah on his arm. Steiner makes his way into the ring before grabbing a Microphone. Steiner immediately starts to gloat about still being the WCW Champion, calling himself the “Goldberg Slayer”. Steiner says that everyone had him counted out before the match, but look how stupid they look now.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/RosterNEW01/Staff/%23CEOericbischoff.jpg

With that Eric Bischoff's Music hits and he walks out to the stage. Bischoff tells Steiner that if you check the record books, Goldberg won, he just didn't walk away with the title because of a DQ. Steiner visually tries to laugh off Bischoff's comments. Bischoff then says he's sick of the Elite Era and their gang like actions. Bischoff says that in 3 weeks as WCW World War 3, it will be Scott Steiner vs Goldberg once again for the WCW Championship, but this time it's No DQ. Steiner looks angry at the decision and tells Bischoff he can't do that, he already “Slayed” Goldberg last night. Bischoff then says that that's not all, at WCW World War 3, the 60 man battle royal will return after a 3 year absence. Bischoff says the winner will face either Steiner or Goldberg at Starrcade XIX, saying that whoever walks out with the belt has a Challenger ready made. Steiner then starts to go off on one in the ring as Bischoff tells him to shut up as he calls for the show to go to commercial.

Jeff Jarrett is sitting in his office going through some paperwork when the office door busts open. DDP bursts through the door shouting at Jarrett for a match tonight with Rey Mysterio. Jarrett tries to calm him down but Page says he wont have some sniffling little punk call him a coward. Page says he wants to teach him a lesson tonight and he won't accept anything less. Jarrett then asks Page tha if he gives him the match, will he leave him in peace to sort out his paperwork. Page says thats all he wants and he’ll be gone. The staff member tells Torrie that he hasn't passed through security tonight, confirming he is skipping out on his promise. Torrie thanks him for his time and gets her phone out of her pocket, but before she can flip it open, someone blindsides her from behind, knocking her to the ground. As she crawls for her phone a few boots are planted in her midsection, causing her to reel in pain. The attacker then backs off as the camera pans up, revealing it to be XCW’s Jazz.

Jeff Jarrett is once again seen in his office as Rick Steiner, Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell walk in. Bagwell asks “You wanted to see us boss”. Jarrett says he wants to ask them to do him a large favour for the next few weeks and forget about trying to regain the TV and Tag Titles for now. Jarrett says that after Bischoff dropped the bombshell about the WW3 Battle Royal earlier tonight, he needs the whole of the Elite Era to be on the same page, to guarantee a win and make it an All Elite Era main evern for Starrcade. All 3 of them agree as Jarrett promises them that they will get a chance again, just not until after World War 3.

Diamond Dallas Page vs Rey Mysterio

Tonight's main event begins with Page running up the ramp as Mysterio makes his entrance. Jumping him before he can get into the ring, Page has the upper hand from the get go and grounds Mysterio before he can use his speed to his advantage. Page slowly starts to get more and more cocky in his assaults on Mysterio, allowing Mysterio a chance to fight back and put the match back on track with a level playing field. Throughout the whole match Page tries to use the referee to his advantage. In the end he pulls the Referee into the way of one of Mysterio’s aerial attacks. As the referee is down and Mysterio is checking on him, a second referee rushes to the ring, before Page pulls at Mysterio’s shoulder, turning him around and Dropping him with the Diamond Cutter. Page then covers him for the 3 count as the replacement referee counts it.

Page immediately lets go of Rey, who falls to the floor as Page then hightails it from the ring and through his “People” in the crowd. Nitro ends with DDP standing high up in the stands as Nash tends to Mysterio who is struggling to get back to his feet.

NOVEMBER 2001, WEEK 1…

In The Booth:

Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman and Tazz

Three Easy Steps

Flanked by WWF Champion 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, and 'The American Badass' The Undertaker, Mr. McMahon headed to the ring to kick off the show...

2ZF4zqm.jpgzGmPYlY.jpgULcM9kZ.jpg

McMahon said that the three of them would make sure that Triple H doesn't make it to Survivor Series... In three easy steps...

Mr. McMahon:
“I'll make it really easy so even you mouth-breathers can understand me... Step One... Undertaker takes out one of his arms... CHECK... Step Two... We... are going to find him... and break his LEGS!! And... Step Three...”

IF YA SMELL!!

hyjZOXV.jpg

The Rock stomped onto the stage to a huge ovation... and he had three steps for McMahon and co...

The Rock:
“McMahon... The Rock is going to make sure that Triple H DOES make it to Survivor Series... Yu see The Rock has three easy steps for YOU... Step, ONE... On RAW next week, The Rock and Triple H, versus The Undertaker, and Steve Austin... Step, TWO...!! Take Undertaker... put him over my knee... and SPANK the 'American Badass'!!... and Step THREE... Take 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's, stupid, bald, head... turn it sideways... shine it up, real nice... and stick it STRAIGHT UP, Mr. McMAHON'S... CANDY ASS!!”

Rock predicted that Triple H is going to win the WWF Championship at Survivor Series, and McMahon's trio know it!!

Edge w/ Christian [vs] Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy & Lita

Edge and Matt Hardy have great chemistry as opponents, and they showed that here. Matt's sanity has almost gone off a cliff since losing the European Title, and Edge didn't know what to make of his new mindset. For the finish, Jeff and Lita were a distraction, and it caused Edge to get caught by the 'Twist Of Fate'!

The Most To Gain

On RAW this week, we saw Dean Malenko and William Regal left taken out backstage... Samu suffered the same fate one week ago on Smackdown too!!

6qlqqUu.jpgzMPqys7.jpghVTD228.jpg

The announce team asked: “Who has the most to gain from taking those three men out...?! And who has a motive...?!”

The Hardy Boyz went on to win the match they should have competed in... Umaga debuted in Samu's place... So those guys all have a lot to gain...

Too Cool were also in that match, so they had a motive too... but it's unlikely that Scotty and Sexay would be involved... It's not their M.O...

Malenko and Regal will return on RAW next week... hoping to get to the bottom of it all... While Samu is out for 'months'...

Spike Dudley [vs] Umaga w/ Haku

Speaking of Umaga, the big 28 year old was in action here, against Spike Dudley. The Samoan, with help from Haku, was completely dominant of poor Spike. Umaga put him away with the aptly named 'Samoan Spike' to Dudley's throat after less than 3 minutes.

Armed Or Harmed?

In the trainer's room, Triple H was getting some treatment on his injured arm... When there was a loud knock at the door!!

Triple H grabbed the trainer, and put him behind his back... putting himself between the door and the medical man... But it was only The Rock!!

hyjZOXV.jpgfjxn4yW.jpg

Rocky pardoned the interruption, and then asked why the poor trainer was crying...

The Rock:
“Listen... On Monday Night... Triple H and The Rock will take on 'The American Naughty-Ass', and 'Stone Cold'... and let The Rock ask you a question... Because The Rock... 'The Great One'... 'The Brahma Bull'... needs to know... Are YOU... On the top... of your... 'Game'...?! Are you... READY??”

Triple H smiled, and said that Rock doesn't need to worry about him... His arm hurts, but he'll be fine by Monday...

Triple H:
“All you need to do, is keep up your end of the bargain... Get me to Survivor Series... and if you do... and I win the WWF Title... You'll be first in line for a Title shot, the very next night... and we can do this dance, one more time...!!”

The Perfect Reason

After the match, Rikishi had his hand raised, before his rival Mr. Perfect came onto the stage as Viscera rolled out of the ring...

QVh2lqc.jpgmz3yXBA.jpg

Perfect said he can think of no better reason to join Team Undertaker for Survivor Series, than because Rikishi will be on the other team!! Team Rock!!

Mr. Perfect:
“In fact... I think it's the Perfect excuse... to go to Survivor Series, and kick your big... fat... ugly... imperfect... Samoan... ass!!”

'Kishi wasn't happy, and he climbed out of the ring... Perfect was gone as quickly as he had arrived though...

House Of Cards

Backstage, in their 'office' with no walls, but a door, the three members of The APA were playing cards... Bradshaw won, and was raking up the chips...

At that moment, K-Kwik of New Generation X walked in, and Faarooq, Bradshaw and The Godfather stood up, ready to fight...

IgsMUNo.jpg

Kwik said he wasn't here for any trouble, so Faarooq said he'd better step outside and damn well knock on the door then!! He obliged...

Bradshaw:
“Listen, kid... You're runnin' around with the wrong crowd... X-Pac and Billy Gunn... The kind o' s**t they pull's gonna get you in a LOT of trouble... You should come ride with us... Here, pull up a seat...”

Bradshaw told K-Kwik to join them in the card game, and he pulled up a closed beer cooler and sat on it...

The three gamblers tutted and shook their heads, telling him to get off their damn beer!! He pulled up a stool instead...

'The Real Deal' D'Lo Brown [vs] 'The Ego-Maniac' Chris Jericho

D'Lo Brown was in another high profile match here, and it was a real chance for him to step up. He did just that with a great performance, but unfortunately Jericho got some help from Brown's rival Kurt Angle! 'The Olympic Hero' slid a chair into the ring, and distracted the referee so Jericho could use it. He smacked it across Brown's head, and then locked him in the 'Walls of Jericho'!!

“BUT... I don't wanna name my 3rd and 4th teammates before D'Lo has even named ONE!! So... On RAW... My two guys, will face, D'Lo and his first guy...!!”

With his hands on his head, he told Hardcore to grab the scales, which he quickly did... and Crash hopped on eagerly... Still out of breathe...

Crash:
“Damn it all!! I'm still well over 400 lbs... Still got work to do!!”

He hopped off the scales, and told Molly to fire up the running machine again...

'Latino Hear' Eddie Guerrero [vs] Test

The big man Test had his way with Eddie in the early stages, but a fight back following a brilliantly comedic low blow. From then on, Guerrero took back control of the pace of the match. Test couldn't keep up once 'Latino Heat' got rolling, and he was eventually pinned following a 'Frog Splash'.

House Of Cards Part II

In their usual 'office' with no walls, but for some reason a door, we found Faarooq, Bradshaw and The Godfather again...

DAm2QQF.jpgwPnYd5i.jpgahSQzbz.jpgIgsMUNo.jpg

K-Kwik was still with them, and had been for much of the night... But after a long time playing cards with those guys, he was out of money...

Kwik wanted to leave, because Bradshaw was cleaning up, again!! But Faarooq had a stake he could bet...

Faarooq:
“Listen, kid... You don't always need to put cold, hard, cash in as your stake... Especially once you're out... You can offer us something else for one more chance o' winnin' the pot... How about this... You win... You get the pot... WE win, and you become our spy for the Survivor Series Match...!!”

Kwik isn't part of Team Ramon, but his friends X-Pac and Billy Gunn are, and they'll battle Team Guerrero, which contains all three members of The APA...

The youngster was 'Kwik' to accept the stakes, and the game continued... But we cut away before we could find out who won...

A very enjoyable match here, with two big, strong, menacing, fan favourites in Kane and Big Show. Considering both men's anger issues, they got on well again, and managed to put the experienced duo of the Dudley Boyz away. Kane and Show hit stereo chokeslams on the Dudleys to get the win, but as soon as the match ended, they got some company in the ring!!

Thunder kicks off with it's usual Pyro opening, but before the full show opening reel can play Scott Steiner walks out to the ring with no music and no Midajah on his arm. Steiner gets in the ring and says he's not waiting or playing by the rules, he's sick of how WCW is treating it's biggest stars, so he's not playing by the rules tonight. Steiner says that Eric Bischoff is just screwing him over, Giving him not 1 match to focus on, but bringing back a match where he cannot plan who he will have to face next, because there are 60 different guys it could be. Steiner says that after he Beats Goldberg at WW3 and beats whoever he has to face from the WW3 match at WCW Starrcade XIX, he is going to walk out with the Championship until WCW management appreciate him for the huge star that he is. With that he drops the microphone and heads to the back.

He tells Chyner about his favour and he asked Rick, Buff and Lex on Monday, about not focusing on the rematch for the titles yet. He then says that just as a thank you for their understanding, he's going to take out some of his rage on Mark Jindrak to appease the anger of Steiner and get some revenge for Flair and Storm beating them at Halloween Havoc. Chyner calls it a great idea and says maybe she can vent in a creative way too.

Backstage and Ric Flair approaches Paul Heyman who is standing talking to Mikey Whipwreck. Flair approaches and asks if he could have a moment of his time. Heyman dismisses Whipwreck and asks Flair what he wants. Flair says that right now they both have a common enemy in the Elite Era. Flair says that if they can just work together to rid WCW of the likes of Jarrett and Steiner, there would be a lot more room for “Heyman Guys” to shine. Heyman sarcastically thanks Flair but says he has not interest in making friends or forging “Alliances”. Heyman tells Flair that he will be leading his Army to war and NOBODY is safe. Heyman then says “If that's all you wanted, i’ve got more important things to deal with” before walking off.

Jeff Jarrett vs Mark Jindrak

In a great main event, set up to humiliate Jindrak and get some Revenge for his fellow Elite Era Member Rick Steiner and deal a blow to his nemesis Flair and his Horsemen, Jarrett made the following match hoping to walk it. The match proves to be a very strong showing for Mark Jindrak who looks unstoppable against Jarrett. For most of the match it seems like Jarrett has chewed off more than he can handle, Running to Chyner and Stacy Keibler at ringside for help at any chance he gets. Eventually Chyner plays her part at low blows Jindrak behind the referee’s back, allowing Jarrett to hit The Stroke and cover Jindrak for the 3 count.

After the match Chyner joins Jarrett in the ring, who picks up Jindrak back to his feel, constantly yelling degrading abuse at him. Chyner then kicks him between the legs this time, before eventually the Music of Ric Flair hits and out runs Flair and Lance Storm who chase off Jarrett and Chyner, before helping Jindrak to his feel. Stacy who is still at ringside gets up onto the apron, thinking she is safe and starts yelling abuse. Ric Flair walks over and grabs her by the hair, plants his lips on her to the cheer of the live crowd, just as Nitro goes off air.
