Classic Southern Rasslin', Brought To You By OCW (C-VERSE)

Jeff "Big Tex" Griffith sat, alone in the middle of a New Mexico warehouse, a single folding chair beneath him as he stared at the squared-circle in front of him. The ten foot tall ring, a marvelous sight. He smirked, as his eyes wandered to the banner printed onto the apron.

"Outlaw... Championship... Wrestling.."

EhPbzI1.jpg

He got up off the folding chair, folded it up and slid it underneath the ring. How did he end up here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, one wonders? He would normally be in a venue somewhere in his home state of Texas. Well, it's a long story, one that began back in 2018. One that will become clear as this venture moves on.

Jeff inherited $150,000 from his well-off, late grandfather, who passed in 2019. He used it to move himself out to New Mexico, somewhere he felt had a floundering wrestling scene, and opened up his own brand - trademarking several terms and names, and even purchasing an old warehouse. He made some phone calls, and now here he was, finally ready to see the fruit of the past year's labor in action. Outlaw Championship Wrestling's first show was scheduled for next Saturday, the second week of January.

Though he was waiting for the first show to properly reveal everything, Jeff was proud of what he had put together. He had a vision, and that vision would be realized. What was that vision? Well, to put it simply... Classic Southern Rasslin', Brought To You By OCW.

OUTLAW CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING BRINGS YOU...

SOUTHERN CLASSIC 2020!

LIVE FROM THE OUTLAW HEADQUARTERS, NEW MEXICO!

87 IN ATTENDANCE!

SATURDAY, WEEK 2, JANUARY 2020

u3HmW7Z.jpg

Big Tex Griffith stood in the ring, with a microphone in hand. "Welcome to the first ever Outlaw Championship Wrestling show.. Southern Classic!" He shouted, his rugged voice and thick Texas accent coming over the speakers in the warehouse, aptly named The Outlaw Headquarters. "Tonight you'll see what I've put together, the past year I've worked my ass off to bring you folks this. You'll get a glimpse of what rasslin' was like back in the old days, because I'm here to bring us on a trip through time, to the good old days of Southern Rasslin'!" A bit of a repetitive statement, but it got through to the people in attendance. He looked out to them, and then to the makeshift entry way that led to the small locker-room in the back of the warehouse. "So first things first, tonight we'll have the first round of a tournament to declare our first World champion! To get things underway, allow me to introduce to you the two participants taking part in one of those bouts, as well as the first match in our company history! So first up,"

begins playing in the warehouse, and a vaguely familiar, lanky individual makes his way to the ring.

e7EcL2t.jpg

"TEEEEXAAAAS HAAAAANGMAAAAN!"

Texas Hangman enters the ring and locks eyes with his employer, before turning and walking towards the corner of the ring, as a completely different theme begins to play.

Rakqpyo.jpg

"COOOOONNNNYYYYYY WOOOOOOODS!"

Smiling and happy to be here, Conny Woods enters the ring as Tex Griffith exits it, Woods gets into the corner opposite Hangman and the bell rings.

RATING: 28

TEXAS HANGMAN VS. CONNY WOODS

Texas Hangman took as much time as he could brutalizing the much smaller man stood before him, almost as if he enjoyed inflicting pain upon the poor sap. With big lariat's, boots, and powerslams, Hangman looked like a star as he practically annihilated Woods. Throwing him down to the floor outside the ring, Hangman then draped Conny across the barricade keeping fans away from the action and punted him in the side of the head, knocking Conny off the barricade and down to the floor. He finished the match in eight minutes and six seconds, with a Choke Slam in the center of the ring.

WINNER: TEXAS HANGMAN

RATING: 20

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Following the carnage that was the one-sided brawl between Hangman and Woods, a new

came over the speakers, and out came a masked man.

M7nJihz.jpg

WHITE WOLF

The masked individual was announced as White Wolf, and was to be participating in a singles bout in the first round of the OCW Inaugural World Championship Tournament.

A different

his the speakers and out came another man.

LCJIemY.jpg

THE MASKED MAULER

Announced as The Masked Mauler, some of the more hardcore fans immediately began to boo - recognizing the gimmick and mask of the man entering the ring. His music stopped playing the moment he stepped between the ropes.

M7nJihz.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1LCJIemY.jpg

WHITE WOLF VS. THE MASKED MAULER

The match got underway, the two masked fighters meeting in the center and exchanging holds, like a classic wrestling match. They were already weaving together a story, that of the superior veteran performer White Wolf, and the young, weasel across from him in The Masked Mauler. Mauler took control and tried his best to put White Wolf away with a submission hold, but Wolf slipped away and they were back to square one. Locking up several more times, the people in attendance were on the edge of their seat when White Wolf secured an Indian Deathlock and tapped out The Masked Mauler to claim victory after eleven minutes and thirty-five seconds.

WINNER: WHITE WOLF

RATING: 34

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Following that match, a few minutes of intermission came before

once again hit the speakers, and a man stepped out from behind the curtain.

FVkmHF5.jpg

ROGER EAGLE

Announced as Roger Eagle, and the first participant of the third first-round bout of the OCW Inaugural World Championship Tournament, he stepped between the ropes and a different

played, and a second figure stepped out from the back, dressed in a rather elegant cape and fitted with a crown on his head.

BgpbbaV.jpg

PRINCE BRADY

Announced as Prince Brady, he took his grand time getting to the ring, as if he were a royal here in OCW.

FVkmHF5.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1BgpbbaV.jpg

ROGER EAGLE VS. PRINCE BRADY

As soon as the bell rung, the two were all over each other, slipping through holds and performing suplexes and the like in a fast-paced manner, in complete contrast to the match that came before it. There was not a single moment where either man held a solid advantage over the other as they just kept at it, reversing holds and shooting up after suplexes and big slams. Eventually, Eagle caught Brady at ten minutes and fifty nine seconds in with an Eagle Chop, sending Brady down to the mat for the pinfall.

WINNER: ROGER EAGLE

RATING: 35

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

More

played after a few minutes of intermission, and two men came from behind the curtain as the announcers hyped up the upcoming tag match.

Bkc6E1q.jpgn5BQAKD.jpg

WOLFIE AND KALDER, THE MONTANA MERCENARIES

Announced as The Montana Mercenaries, Wolfie and Kalder approached the ring as the people in attendance were left in awe at the sheer size of both men. Shortly after they got into the ring, a different, more melancholy

played and their opponents stepped out from behind the curtain.

AVs4AfT.jpgIXKIsmv.jpg

MATTY NIGHT AND JERRY NIGHT, TEAM MIDNIGHT

They entered the ring, smiling at the fans and then locking eyes with the beasts across from them.

Bkc6E1q.jpgn5BQAKD.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1AVs4AfT.jpgIXKIsmv.jpg

The bell rung... and from the get-go, this match was clearly in the favor of The Montana Mercenaries, as Kalder started the bout dominating Matty Night, before tagging to Wolfie and letting him have a go. The whole time Jerry tried to encourage Matty, and successfully tagged himself into the match, only to be manhandled by Wolfie. Wolfie tossed Jerry to the floor where both Mercenaries then double teamed Jerry, beating him down before tossing him back into the ropes as the referee count reached eight. Wolfie slid back in following this, and watched, smirking, as Jerry crawled and tagged in Matty. Matty charged at Wolfie, only to be caught in a Montana Slammer, ending the match at the nine minute and forty-one second mark.

WINNERS: THE MONTANA MERCENARIES

RATING: 30

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Next up, no music hit the speakers, but instead a voice.

T7Ot0a8.jpg

Behind him, stood two men, each menacing in their own right.

BNuagEd.jpgMDUaLZC.jpg

The first man, with the microphone, spoke. "My name is The Ringleader," He said, smirking at the audience as he walked down to the ring. "And behind me, you see my good men Outlaw Karl Callihan, and Ramblin' Roach Ranes." He laughed into the microphone. "We are the Mid-South Mafia, and boy can you believe how long we've been waiting for this opportunity? Outlaw Championship Wrestling will soon belong to the three of us, and there's not nothin' nobody can do about it!" He laughed once more, as Callihan and Ranes stood behind him in the center of the ring. He was noticably smaller than his two henchmen. He got his point across, though. The Ringleader wasn't someone to mess around with.

RATING: 34

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Instead of heading to the back after he was finished, The Ringleader stayed out at ringside, actually heading to the commentators' table and pulling up a chair. He sat beside them while his cronies stood on either side of the table.

played and a man intimately familiar with the Mid-South wrestling scene stepped out from the curtain.

SSn1ERn.jpg

BUBBA LEE

Announced as Bubba Lee, and that he was participating in a singles match, he made his way to the ring. The combination of the entrance music and the familiarity he had caused the local crowd to erupt, cheering for the veteran of the scene, Bubba Lee.

Bubba soaked in the love he was receiving as his opponent's

hit the speakers.

aJa90TG.jpg

JAY DIAZ

Jay Diaz entered the ring and the two locked eyes, each man unmoving.

SSn1ERn.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1aJa90TG.jpg

The bell rung and neither man moved. They didn't circle the ring, nothing, they just stared at one another, sizing each other up. After about thirty seconds, Diaz made the first move, taking a big right swing at Bubba only for Bubba to duck and tackle Diaz to the ground, mounting him for repeated punches. Eventually the referee got Bubba off of Diaz, and Bubba showed off to the fans, who cheered him. Diaz came with a big lariat, and took control of the match. They would go back and forth for several minutes after, the hard-hitting contest leaving each man battered by the end. After ten minutes and fourteen seconds, Bubba Lee finally pinned Diaz following a Cannon Fodder.

WINNER: BUBBA LEE

RATING: 35

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

The Ringleader, following this match and Bubba's celebration, then slid into the ring. He was up next, but who was his opponent going to be?

played and a young, Oklahoma native stepped out and made his way to the ring.

QXzTzMp.jpg

KIDD THUNDER

Announced as Kidd Thunder, the youngster made his way to the ring and locked eyes with his opponent, the self-proclaimed 'Ringleader.' His US-theme gear contrasting the Ringleader's old-timey, cowboy-gentleman-esque attire. He didn't seem to notice that Roach Ranes and Karl Callihan were at ringside.

T7Ot0a8.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1QXzTzMp.jpg

THE RINGLEADER VS. KIDD THUNDER

The bout kicked off with a bang, as Thunder laid the Ringleader out with a big lariat to start things off. Seemingly Rocked and now missing his hat, The Ringleader was able to get back to his feet before Thunder stopped showboating, and took it to the powerful youngster. He intended to use his smaller stature and veteran instinct to out-think and out-maneuver the larger Kidd Thunder... and he did, as he quickly moved around the ring, using his small stature to evade Thunder's powerful attacks and whittle down the larger man before putting him away with a Double Or Nothing in twelve minutes and eight seconds.

WINNER: THE RINGLEADER

RATING: 33

He wasn't done, though, as after the announcers declared he was the victor, he motioned for Callihan and Ranes to enter the ring - and they did, Ranes holding a chair from underneath the ring, as Callihan lifted and held Thunder in place. At the command of The Ringleader, Ranes began wailing on Thunder, hitting him in the abdomen and on the head several times with the chair before Ringleader called it quits. They left Thunder motionless in the ring as they headed to the back, the Mid-South Mafia's

finally playing for the first time.

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Up next was the Main Event, and the announcers put over the fact that it was the final match in the first round of the OCW Inaugural World Championship Tournament.

played and an instantly recognizable man came out to the ring.

ACzL6lM.jpg

GREGORY VENNE

Gregory Venne was cheered by some of the fans, as a constant on the independent circuit, it must've been nice for them to see him finally getting his due here in OCW. He made his way to the ring and waited as his opponents

played over the speakers in the warehouse. A confident, cool, blond-haired man came down to the ring, all the while maintaining a confident appearance while not coming across as a cocky heel-ish presence.

pXKsGDs.jpg

"CALIFORNIA COOL" KIPP ARMSTRONG

Kipp Armstrong entered the ring, the fans at the edge of their seats as he and Venne stared one another down in the center of the ring, before Armstrong gave a slight smirk.

ACzL6lM.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1pXKsGDs.jpg

The match got underway, and from the get-go it was an contest for control. Each man battled the other but neither could take control of the other, until about half-way through, as Armstrong took control after hitting a crisp German Suplex on Venne, but only got a two-count. Following this he desperately tried to put Venne away with several big slams and powerful, hard-hitting strikes, but to no avail as everytime Venne kicked out at two point nine seconds. Frustrated, Armstrong rested himself in a corner, collecting his wits as Venne struggled to his feet. Kipp went back on the attack as Venne almost reached his feet, but Venne fought back, shoving Kipp away and slipping around the rookie, locking him into a sleeper hold before dragging him down to the ground. Kipp managed to fight free and everything was back to where it started. They went back and forth some

more before finally, at twelve minutes and fifty-three seconds in, Gregory Venne put away Kipp Armstrong with a Rayne Drop.

WINNER: GREGORY VENNE

RATIING: 35

That match closed out the show, and has Venne celebrated Armstrong turned to head towards the back. Venne stopped him, and raised his arm as well. The fans cheered both men, and the two men locked eyes, an air of mutual respect forming between them. Venne let go of Armstrong's arm, and Kipp left the ring, leaving Venne to his celebration.

I would have called the venue "The Hideout" to go with the outlaw theme, but interesting start! I'll try and stick around.

Darn! I hadn't even thought of that. I was initially going to call it "The Outlaw Camp," but decided against that.

Boy howdy. Classic southern' rasslin? Sign me up.

I'll try my best to do it justice! Glad you're interested, am a big fan of your work. If there's anything you think doesn't suit the product, be sure to let me know (that goes for everyone) - I'm not nor will I ever claim to be someone with tons of knowledge when it comes to classic southern 'rasslin.

Big Tex walked about in the center of The Outlaw H-Q, as the lads called it. Nobody else was around, and he stood in thought. He was waiting, patiently, as he called some of the crew here to discuss next month's show.

The door to the warehouse opened, and in came familiar voices.

MlYdKNT.jpgbl1FytG.jpg

Despite being half their age, Jeff towered over them - even without the boots. "Don, Tim." Tex muttered. "Glad you're here. We're waiting on Dewey and Rick now." They looked at Jeff and then at one another, clearly a little confused.

v3aNAW8.jpgnZ8msxA.jpg

"Mornin', boss." Dewey said as he stepped through the door, followed by Rick Sanders.

"Howdy, Dewey. Rick." Jeff tipped his hat at the two men. "I called the four of you here today, because I believe you're the four best minds under my employment." Jeff started, pacing back and forth in front of the two men. "And with that in mind, I'd like you to look over my cards, angles, stories - the whole lot. Don and Tim worked for TWL back in the day, Dewey you've been all over the US, and Rick, you're my go-to for old-school wrestling, being a master of it back in the day, and someone who's been around it his entire career. The four of you are officially my creative counsel, starting today." He stopped pacing and smirked at the men. "So, let's get started, and put together the best damn card for next month. For what I like to call.. the Big Tex Bar Brawl!"

The five went over possible matches, stipulations, stories and the whole lot for the next four hours before coming to a unanimous decision on the card for the 'Big Tex Bar Brawl.'

The following day, it was posted throughout Albuquerque.

OUTLAW CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING BRINGS YOU...

THE BIG TEX BAR BRAWL! (2020)

FROM THE OUTLAW HEADQUARTERS IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO!

87 IN ATTENDANCE!

SATURDAY, WEEK 2, FEBRUARY 2020

The show gets underway mere minutes after the crowd is seated - as the ring announcer (Dane O'Hara) announces the first match, scheduled for one fall and as a semi-final of the Inaugural World Championship tournament, is about to get underway.

e7EcL2t.jpg

Out first is Texas Hangman, who looks ready to annihilate the competition.

M7nJihz.jpg

His opponent, White Wolf, comes out - pandering to the audience, slapping people's hands, just living in the moment. He steps into the ring and the bell rings.

e7EcL2t.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1M7nJihz.jpg

TEXAS HANGMAN VS. WHITE WOLF

OCW INAUGURAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINAL

Much like his first match in OCW, the Hangman dominated here. Unlike the previous match, though, White Wolf did manage to get in some little bits of offense - not nearly enough to remotely phase the giant Texan before him, but enough to not look as pathetic as Conny Woods did last month. Hangman fought viciously and tormented the poor Luchador. Truthfully, the match was over before it truly got to begin, as Hangman put away the White Wolf with a Choke Slam after five minutes and fifty-six seconds of heated brawling.

WINNER: TEXAS HANGMAN

RATING: 34

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

After a short intermission of a few minutes, the next bout was ready. The other Semi-Final Bout for the OCW Inaugural World Championship Tournament, and the first participant was entering through the small stage.

FVkmHF5.jpg

Coming down to the ring with a serious look on his face, Roger Eagle was ready to go for what is sure to be an excellent match against..

ACzL6lM.jpg

-Gregory Venne! Entering to a bunch of cheers, having firmly won over the fans who were here last month as well as the die-hard internet fandom, Venne stepped between the ropes and offered a handshake to his opponent... which Eagle accepted! After firmly shaking hands, the bell rung, and the bout got underway.

FVkmHF5.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1ACzL6lM.jpg

ROGER EAGLE VS. GREGORY VENNE

OCW INAUGURAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINAL

The bell rung and the two locked up. Eagle may be a smaller man, but he was technically proficient as well. The series of inter-locking holds and chain wrestling left the audience in awe, as this certainly wasn't something they had expected to see tonight. Eagle managed to lock Venne in a sort of sleeper-hold on the ground, but Venne fought free and the two scrambled to their feet. This was when things really began to pick up, as Eagle charged Venne with a dropkick and a series of mounted punches, looking to put Venne away quickly with a pinfall after, only for Venne to kick out at one and a half. At the referee's order, Eagle separated and each man took their corners before the referee motioned for them to continue. Eagle charged Venne again, but this time going for a hurricanrana, which Venne easily countered with a pop-up powerbomb. The match continued on like this for some time, with Eagle desperately trying to put away Venne with quick cruiserweight offense, only for Venne to foil the attempts time and time again. After thirteen minutes and twenty-six seconds of hard-fought fighting, however, Eagle tapped out to Venne's patented Rayne Fall.

WINNER: GREGORY VENNE

RATING: 38

Letting go of the hold immediately after the bell was rung, Venne helped Eagle to his feet and offered another handshake, audibly congratulating Eagle on a hard-fought contest and a good match, to which Eagle thanked Venne, shook his hand and headed for the back as Venne finished up a short celebration, much like last month's match with Kipp Armstrong.

Not even waiting for Dane O'Hara to announce the contest or the rules, out-came the Montana Mercenaries, imposing and all too ready for a fight. After they entered the ring, a familiar theme played - Bubba Lee's theme Soldiers.

SSn1ERn.jpg

Bubba Lee stepped out from behind the curtain, smirked at the Montana Mercenaries, and then gave an Army Ranger 'Go' signal, as two men stepped out from behind him.

uaS6bh2.jpgHyB3Un5.jpg

Announced as Sarge Jackson and Sarge Miller, respectively, and The Freedom Fighters collectively, the two men made their way to the ring in front of a slightly confused but nonetheless rowdy Southern crowd. Bubba Lee returned to the back.

The bell rung and all hell broke loose. Jackson and Kalder started off, and a brutal back-and-forth fist fight ensued. The audience was visibly shocked at how hard the two were hitting each other, and especially so at the fight Jackson was putting up. Kalder got rocked back into his corner by a lariat, and Wolfie took advantage, tagging himself in and stepping into the ring. Jackson stood his ground, but was floored by a running big boot from Wolfie. Wolfie brutally brawled with the damaged Jackson, until Jackson slipped out of a Military Press Slam and took the giant out at his knees, before tagging Miller in. Miller charged Wolfie but was woefully unprepared for the beast before him, running straight into a devastating scoop slam. He kicked out at two of the following pinfall, and the referee separated the two men after Wolfie started beating the poor sod. Each taking their corners, Miller tagged out to Jackson and Jackson rushed Wolfie with a clothesline to the outside. What followed could only be described as wild - as Miller and Kalder got involved and a big brawl took place all the way from the ring to the stage. The match was declared a draw by count-out after eight minutes and fifty-one seconds.

Out next was Conny Woods, smiling and waving to the crowd as he did last month.

And following him was his opponent for this evening, The Masked Mauler.

CONNY WOODS VS. THE MASKED MAULER

The bell rung and a solid, technical war broke out between the two men. Vying for control, neither performer gave an inch until finally Woods took control with a powerful German Suplex. Keeping the flow of the match firmly in his control, Woods carefully picked apart the Mauler until it seemed there was no way he could lose - but that's when it happened. In a split second, the Mauler raked Woods' eyes and rolled him up with a surprise pinfall for the victory after ten minutes and five seconds of action.

Out next was The Mid-South Mafia, The Ringleader with a mic in hand. They stepped into the ring - which had been converted during the intermission to look like a sort of bar-esque set, complete with stools, a counter, and shelves of liquor bottles. "As you can see," The Ringleader announced. "This here ring is ready for a brawl, a brawl like none other, a brawl which my loyal outlaw Karl Callihan will walk away standing tall, leaving that filthy, rotten do-gooder Bubba Lee laid out on the ground, knocked out cold. And after that, you'll watch in awe as I walk away from Kipp Armstrong victorious, leaving that California trash down for the one-two-three. If you don't believe me, well, you're in for a treat - because you're about to see it, live and in person! I said it last month and I'll say it again here, The Mid-South Mafia is here to rule OCW, and ain't nobody gon' stop us!"

RATING: 35

The Ringleader and Roach Ranes left the ring, leaving Callihan all alone as Bubba Lee's music hit once again tonight, and he made his way to the ring.

OUTLAW KARL CALLIHAN VS. BUBBA LEE

SINGLES BAR-ROOM BRAWL!

The first rule of a bar-room brawl? There are no rules - and that is a statement these two took to heart. Fast-paced, violent and full of hardcore-but-not-too-violent spots took place, from smashing glass bottles over Lee's head to putting Callihan through one of the shelves of liquor, this was a short-but-memorable bout. The match reached it's climax when Bubba hit Callihan with a steady right hook, dropping Callihan to his knees... but that's when out of nowhere and from his pocket, Callihan swung back and with a chain-wrapped fist, laid out the ex-Army Ranger for good after a six-minute, dangerous and undoubtedly amazing to watch brawl.

Up next was the Main Event of the night, and out came The Ringleader with Roach Ranes at his side to start us off.

T7Ot0a8.jpgMDUaLZC.jpg

They made their way to the ring, all the while Ringleader shouting at the crowd, declaring them to be on his turf, the whole lot until Armstrong's theme hit and he made his way down the aisle.

pXKsGDs.jpg

He got into the ring and towered over The Ringleader, who almost looked like a scared animal.

THE RINGLEADER (W/ RAMBLIN' ROACH RANES) VS. KIPP ARMSTRONG

The bell rung and... The Ringleader left the ring, leaving a confused Armstrong standing in the center. The Ringleader paced the outside, as Roach Ranes and he conversed, setting up a game-plan. Before the ref could count to ten, The Ringleader slid back into the ring, and immediately slipped back out. This time, however, Armstrong wasn't going to wait, and followed him to the outside. Ringleader ran behind Ranes, who stood his ground as Armstrong chased after him, laying out Ranes with a lariat and following Ringleader all around the ring - inside and out, until Ringleader finally slid into the ring and whipped around, stomping Kipp down as he tried to follow him in. Ringleader attempted to lift Kipp, but Kipp easily planted himself down and threw Ringleader around like a rag-doll - his hat getting tossed onto the mat (and then firmly stomped on by Kipp.) This continued for sometime until the ref broke it up, to make sure Ringleader was okay. During this, Roach Ranes got on the apron, shouting profanities at Kipp and the ref, the ref shouted back, to no avail - and Kipp made his way over to Ranes, only for Ranes to hop off the apron and smirk. Kipp turned around, annoyed by the interference and.. BAM! Ringleader was waiting for him, and hit him with a Hard Eight, laying the bigger man out for a three-count victory after thirteen minutes and eleven seconds.

WINNER: THE RINGLEADER (W/ RAMBLIN ROACH RANES)

Jeff sat at home, sitting in front of the television with a beer in hand. He was mighty tired. He and his four lieutenants had sat in a cramped office at a small, rectangular table for damn near five hours, sweating to death and ready to just croak over and die at any moment. Each had their views, like how Dewey really thought Roger Eagle could be a major star if booked as an underdog against Hangman, where Don disagreed and thought that it would ruin Hangman's image to have him feud with a "Vanilla Midget" so soon. Rick was appalled that the two of them had essentially written Gregory Venne out of their plans, even though it's clear he's the company's biggest babyface and a really damn good performer, and Tim really wanted to push Kidd Thunder for some reason.

But after five hours, thirty-seven minutes and fourteen seconds, the five men finally sat, staring at a whiteboard and happy with what was written on it. The card for what will hopefully become OCW's biggest event of the calendar year. It was make or break time, and all five creative minds refused to be broken.

OUTLAW CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING BRINGS YOU...

SOUTHERN SLAMMANIA I!

FROM THE OUTLAW HEADQUARTERS IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO!

89 IN ATTENDANCE!

SATURDAY, WEEK 2, MARCH 2020

Nearly ninety people are sat in folding chairs around the ring as the first match of the night begins. The Freedom Fighters, Jackson and Miller, make their way to the ring.

uaS6bh2.jpgHyB3Un5.jpg

They're coming out to plenty of cheers, as the ultra-American gimmick lands just right here in New Mexico. Team Midnight's theme begins to play, and there's almost no reaction as they come to the ring.

AVs4AfT.jpgIXKIsmv.jpg

They step in-between the ropes and look at the two larger men stood before them. Jerry decides to start off the contest, as does Jackson, and the bout gets underway.

uaS6bh2.jpgHyB3Un5.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1AVs4AfT.jpgIXKIsmv.jpg

The bell rings and Jackson is all over Jerry. There's nothing he can do except take the beatdown. The crowd goes wild as Jackson annihilates the poor Night-man. Perhaps frustrated about being counted out and not claiming victory over the Montana Mercenaries last month, Jackson seems to be hitting harder than he did in that bout. Either way, Jerry was not in a good way when he finally was able to make the tag to Matty, just for the scene to repeat. Miller did not take one step inside the ring during this twelve minute and eleven second long bout, as Jackson finished Matty with a Drop Zone for the victory.

WINNERS: THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS

RATING: 37

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

After a short intermission, The Mid-South Mafia makes their way to the ring, with Ringleader smirking as he held his microphone.

T7Ot0a8.jpg

MDUaLZC.jpgBNuagEd.jpg

The Ringleader paces, before putting the mic to his mouth. "Y'all know what really irks me?" He pauses, before answering his posed question. "The fact that my crew and I tore through the competition last month and I ain't being given a World title shot. Instead, Roach here an' I have been put in a meaningless Battle Royal for a meaningless title." He laughs as the crowd boo him for decrying the yet-to-be-won US title. "Though I guess that's why I'm here. I'll win that battle royal, and I'll make that title mean something. Roach will ensure I win. Karl will win his fight tonight and nobody will do anything to stop us. This is just one step towards my ultimate goal, and you all know that. The Ringleader WILL lead this company, and there ain't nothin' anyone gon' do 'bout it!"

They leave the ring and head back through the curtain.

RATING: 39

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

A short intermission and then Kidd Thunder's theme hit. He hadn't been seen since the first show when he was beat-down by the Mid-South Mafia - how ironic that he was now here following their promo. He entered the ring and waited for his opponent.

QXzTzMp.jpg

An unfamiliar

hit, as expected, and a new face stepped from behind the curtain.

g0q8gQt.jpg

DEGRAFF DASTARDLY

Announced as DeGraff Dastardly, the man entered the ring and squared off with Kidd Thunder.

QXzTzMp.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1g0q8gQt.jpg

The bout was pretty back and forth, and each man hit the other with pretty heavy strikes and devastating looking power moves. Kidd showcased that he could hold his own, but DeGraff showed that he deserved to be here, and ultimately that overcame Kidd's offense and finished the bout in nine minutes and thirty seconds, when DeGraff pinned Kidd following a Double Arm DDT.

WINNER: DEGRAFF DASTARDLY

RATING: 22

Next up, Outlaw Karl Callihan was out, ready to go, for his singles contest with White Wolf.

BNuagEd.jpg

He waited in the ring as his White Wolf came out second.

M7nJihz.jpg

White Wolf locked eyes with the bigger man, clearly beginning to analyze what he expected from Karl.

BNuagEd.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1M7nJihz.jpg

Karl exploded out the gate with heavy, hard-hitting strikes, catching Wolf completely by surprise. Mauling Wolf and backing him into a corner, the referee separated Karl from Wolf and made sure Wolf could continue. As soon as Wolf shook his head yes, Karl exploded into the corner with a lariat, laying out the Luchador on the mat. Several more times the ref would have to make sure the Luchador could continue, and each time Karl came lashing out with furious attacks until finally, after seven minutes and thirty seconds, Wolf stayed down for the three count following a K Killer. A dominant showing by Karl, and one that cements his status as the proper muscle of The Mid-South Mafia.

WINNER: OUTLAW KARL CALLIHAN

RATING: 45

ACzL6lM.jpg

Gregory Venne was in the ring next, with a microphone. "Good evening everyone!" He starts. "I hope you're enjoying the show, and looking forward to seeing me and Hangman later tonight!" He pauses. "...But I must admit, I'm not sure if I'll be able to take down that giant. This isn't me giving up. I will try, and I firmly believe this is going to be the most draining battle of my entire career... I've had quite a few of those." He pauses again. "But dammit if I won't try my hardest to take down that damn Texan and win the OCW World Championship here tonight! We're making history, and I'll be damned if I gave up before I ever tried to slap my name on it! I defeated Armstrong, I defeated Eagle, what's one giant?! So Hangman," He turns to the entry way. "You better watch out, because I'll cut you down!"

Another momentary pause before a new

began to play, and a smaller man came out to the ring.

bQL6sLz.jpg

BENNY OUTLAW!

He made his way to the ring, hopped in, happy to be here, and looked around at his opponents. The referee stepped in the middle of the ring, and held the OCW United States belt high in the air, so everyone could see it.

The bell rung and the ref slipped underneath the rope with the title as the mayhem began. Almost immediately Bubba Lee grabbed Benny Outlaw and sent him careening over the ropes.

ELIMINATION #1

bQL6sLz.jpg

BENNY OUTLAW by: BUBBA LEE

The brawl continued as Woods fought Mauler, Eagle fought Diaz and Goodfellow fought The Mafia with Bubba Lee. Prince Brady kept to himself, staying out of the action and off to the side. Bubba brawled with Ranes into a corner, before Ringleader attacked from behind to save his loyal henchman. The two together then wailed on Bubba, keeping him down and out of the equation for now as they turned their attention to Conny Woods, who had Mauler draped over the top rope and was desperately trying to get him down to the floor. The two approached from behind and Ranes hit Woods on the back, allowing Mauler to slip down to the bottom rope and slide himself back into the ring, while Ranes and Ringleader together dumped Woods down to the floor.

ELIMINATION #2

Rakqpyo.jpg

CONNY WOODS by: RANES & RINGLEADER

Shortly after that, Mauler was dumped to the floor by a slightly rested Bubba Lee.

ELIMINATION #3

LCJIemY.jpg

THE MASKED MAULER by: BUBBA LEE

Lee charged and laid out both Mafia men with a double lariat, and Eagle took advantage, targeting The Ringleader as Bubba dragged Ranes to the ropes, planning to dump him out. Diaz fought with Brady in a corner and Goodfellow scanned the competition, before joining Eagle in fighting Ringleader. Sometime later, Diaz gave up fighting Brady and locked onto Goodfellow, taking him down and giving Ringleader an opening to fight back against Eagle. On the opposite side of the ring, Ranes fought back against Bubba, and the two forces collided in the center of the ring as Bubba was laid out by a lariat and Eagle sent careening to the mat by a dropkick. Meanwhile, Jay Diaz was tossed to the floor by the combined effort of Goodfellow and Brady, who then began fighting.

ELIMINATION #4

aJa90TG.jpg

JAY DIAZ by: REMMY & BRADY

The Mafia turned their attention from Bubba and Roger and targeted Goodfellow, beating him up in a corner as Brady slipped away to go after Eagle. However, whilst this all happened, Bubba recovered once more, and headed over to Brady, who had Eagle trapped against the ropes. Bubba tapped Brady on the shoulder, and as Brady turned around, grabbed him by the neck and sent him over the ropes with a chokeslam.

ELIMINATION #5

BgpbbaV.jpg

PRINCE BRADY by: BUBBA LEE

After that showcase of power, Bubba charged across the ring and hit the Mafia from behind with powerful axehandle smashes, knocking them both down, and then tossing out Goodfellow who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

ELIMINATION #6

2TqdYIj.jpg

REMMY GOODFELLOW by: BUBBA LEE

Bubba lifted Ranes and wailed on him, as Eagle recovered and did the same to Ringleader. Eagle hit a solid dropkick and hopped up to the second rope. Calling to the crowd, he was prepared to hit a splash, but stalled far too long as when he jumped, Ringleader simply put up his knees and that's precisely where Eagle landed. With Eagle rolling in pain, Ringleader shot up, picked him up and sent him over the top rope. Before he could make sure Eagle was eliminated though, he turned his attention to Bubba, who was in a stalemate with Ranes up in the corner and hit a running dropkick to help out his man. They worked together to trap Lee against the ropes and managed to successfully dump him out of the ring right into the entryway. Unbeknownst to the Mafia, Eagle was still laying underneath the bottom rope across the ring.

ELIMINATION #8

SSn1ERn.jpg

BUBBA LEE by: RANES & RINGLEADER

The two men stopped, and Ringleader looked at Ranes, waiting. A few seconds passed by before Ringleader shouted, "Well, go on then! Get out! We're the only two!"

Ranes nodded and stepped over the top rope, turning back and standing in shock as Ringleader stood in front of him.

"Boss-!" Ranes shouted, but it was too late. Roger Eagle charged behind the two men and with all his might, clotheslined the back of Ringleader's head, sending him over the top, into Ranes and both men down to the floor, where Bubba Lee was awaiting them - and he dragged both men to the back before they could collect their wits.

ELIMINATIONS #8 & #9

MDUaLZC.jpgT7Ot0a8.jpg

RAMBLIN' ROACH RANES & THE RINGLEADER by: ROGER EAGLE

Eagle celebrated in the ring as the referee brought him the United States title belt. The crowd went wild for the underdog, and he let it all soak in as he held the belt in his arms. Twelve minutes and fifty-one seconds in, Roger Eagle won the US title after eliminating The Ringleader and Ramblin' Roach Ranes.

WINNER: ROGER EAGLE (NEW CHAMPION!)

RATING: 40

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

Wasting little time following the celebration, Kipp Armstrong heads down to the ring, where he'll await his mystery opponent.

pXKsGDs.jpg

A solid, heavy rock

begins playing and out comes Kipp's opponent.

FMqDYXT.jpg

TANK BRADLEY

Tank Bradley slowly makes his way to the ring, and upon entering, sizes himself up with Kipp before they are pushed apart and the bell is rung.

pXKsGDs.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1FMqDYXT.jpg

A battle between era's, as Kipp brought high octane, heavy-hitting offense to the so-called Tank, who ate the offense and then asked for more. Kipp kept wailing on Tank until Tank finally broke free and sent Kipp down to the mat with a Powerbomb. Kipp didn't stay down for long and the two traded blows in the center of the ring, before Kipp once again took control backing Tank into a corner. Kipp wailed on Tank some more, and then backed up, posing for the crowd. Tank exploded out of the corner, looking to hit a clothesline, but Kipp ducked underneath and spun Tank around, hitting a crisp Corner Cutter and laying Tank out for the pinfall after four minutes and fifty seconds.

WINNER: KIPP ARMSTRONG

RATING: 14

EhPbzI1.jpgEhPbzI1.jpg

A short intermission, about five minutes, occurred before music began to play once again and the Main Event got under way.

e7EcL2t.jpg

"LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!" Dane O'Hara bellowed into the mic. "THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE-FALL! AND IT WILL BE TO CROWN THE INAUGURAL OCW WORLD CHAMPION! INTRODUCING THE FIRST COMPETITOR! FROM THE LONE STAR STATE, TIPPING THE SCALES AT THREE-HUNDRED AND SIXTY POUNDS! TEEEEEX-AAAAAS HAAAAAA-ANGMAA-AAAN!" Dane shouted as the giant made his way to the ring. Taking a corner after getting in, Texas awaited the arrival of his opponent.

ACzL6lM.jpg

Venne's music began to play and Dane started up once more. "INTRODUCING HIS OPPONENT, FROM WASHINGTON, WEIGHING IN AT TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY POUNDS, GREEEEGORRRY VEEEEENNNNEEEE!"

Gregory hopped into the ring and stared a hole through Texas Hangman, who did the same right back, as the referee held up the OCW World Championship.

xiYVitL.jpg

ACzL6lM.jpgyFNdxoR.jpg?1e7EcL2t.jpg

The bell rung and the two stood still, almost like a moment in time had been frozen, and all in the world was well... until Venne lashed out with a few quick jabs, landing and catching the big man off his guard. It didn't take long for the big Texan to collect his wits and fire back with a big scoop slam, sending Venne crashing down to the mat across the ring. He followed with a seemingly never-ending barrage of strikes and big power moves before Venne slipped around the big man and took him down at his knees, attempting to lock him down in a submission. Hangman pretty much shrugged him off and both men got back to their feet, before going at it again. This back and forth action continued for sometime before Hangman exploded with unprecedented agility and power and could've very well flattened Venne with a rebounding big boot, firmly taking control and establishing dominance. Hangman dominated Venne for another three minutes or so, Venne barely able to mount any kind of defense, before slamming Venne to the ground with a devastating Choke Slam. 1... 2... 3... The match was over after fourteen minutes and fifty seven seconds. Texas Hangman was the new World Champion.

WINNER: TEXAS HANGMAN (NEW CHAMPION)

RATING: 37

Much like the months prior, this was no different. Bossman Griffith sat for excruciatingly long hours, debating with his trusted veteran Lieutenants and putting together a card for next month's show.
