The Key Players

J.K. Stallings - Stallings, who purchased the downtrodden Seattle Rainiers baseball club in 2018 was looking not only to improve the baseball product on the field but also expand the regional sports network that was part of the deal. While he didn’t want a day-to-day role in a wrestling company, he wanted to back one and bring the sport back to his home state of Washington. Victory Sports Network was the regional sports network that was majority owned by the Rainiers, so Stallings wanted to put a Saturday wrestling show on its airwaves. He would back the wrestling company financially and even built them a home arena and training center at an old “super” mall in Auburn. Stallings was in the process of turning the property into a housing project with restaurants and shops adjacent to the movie theatre that remained. It was perfectly situated between Seattle and Tacoma and right off 3 major highways. Part of the mall was an old computer store that opened in 1996 with a lot of splash called Incredible Universe, but since then had become a warehouse store and was now vacant. It was that area that he turned into a small studio for wrestling, a training center with eventual plans to make a small 2,000 seat arena.

ecA2t7r.jpg

“Mean” Jean Cattley - Jean left RIPW (the term the Eisen boys used was mutually parted ways but he was fired because he didn’t get along with Jerry), early in 2019. The previous year had been hell for him as his wife of 18 years tragically died in a car crash. His heart wasn’t in RIPW anymore and coupled with Richard Eisen’s IRS issues and leaving of the company, it was his opportunity to get out. He moved his kids back to the Pacific Northwest where his wife’s family was and he wasn’t seen much in and around the sport after that. He has ranch property in Ravensdale where he has been pretty much secluded. (Cattley’s kids are aged 17 and 15)

scCtH5t.jpg

Catherine Quine - The Cat had gone through difficulties herself. She had gone through a messy divorce from her ex-husband Damien Carvill in 2017 which left her not as involved with her promotion AAA. The stress of raising her 2 young daughters on her own and the trauma of going through the divorce caused her to close AAA in 2018, leaving a large void in women's wrestling in the US. (As part of the back story for this diary, Catherine has been age adjusted to 42 and her kids are aged 9 and 7)

hB4AdZ4.jpg

Kate “hellcat” Martin (aka Kate Avatar) - After the issues that happened in Las Vegas in 2012, Avatar effectively left the sport, got married and had 2 kids. Living out in Kauai she was rumored to have spent some time in Japan doing some tours under a mask, but it was never confirmed. She had a couple of small time MMA fights in Honolulu, winning both but decided against pursuing it. She had been a personal trainer at the Poipu Beach Club, and also a radio personality talking sports while her husband was working for JK Stallings. She and her family moved back to her hometown in Washington State when Stallings bought the Rainiers and she has been working as a studio host and stadium reporter for the Rainiers.

ooc: I have been talking about doing a diary for a long time (since the end of 2017) so I have decided to finally break the ice and commit to doing one in 2021. I want to take a moment to thank several people for inspiration and encouragement along the way. This story will get fully underway in early January.

First Mr. Wolf101 who really pulled me back into the boards back with his Dark Phoenix Wrestling diary that he did back in 2017. His story brought me back into the Cverse and into the women's scene for the first time. I have a story that someday I will do (had his blessing back in 2018) that is based of his characters in that diary.

Secondly, I really have to thank Historian. I have been reading his diaries way before it was the in thing to do when he first started. He has been there showing me somethings with the picture and graphics that were holding me back. Thank you my friend for encouraging me to do this. You probably thought it would never come about.

Also I want to thank Willrock for the Title Belts and Graphics for the company.

The background

hxqPxPO.jpg

Covid-19 had taken a toll on the US and the world (although it won’t be as bad as it is now). The US economy had taken a hit and the sports world was staggering towards the finish of an abbreviated season (basketball, hockey and baseball). Stallings had been wanting to get behind this wrestling project in early 2020 but with the onset of the pandemic he put it off. His Rainiers competed in only a 60 game season and went a predictable 24-36 once again missing the playoffs even with an expanded playoff field.

As September rolled around he was determined to get his wrestling “project” off the ground and was looking for programming content for his regional sports network. His first step was to bring in Kate Martin to offer her a studio talk show that she would do several times a week. It would focus some on baseball, some on other sports but would also include wrestling talk as a way to get things back and in the minds of the fans who had felt neglected by the big companies in the US. In an effort to gain ratings, Stallings had Martin reach out to folks and in wrestling he wanted her to get Catherine Quine who had NW roots like herself and also Jean Cattley to be on the show. While he was laying all this out for Martin, he was also forming a plan to bring back wrestling to the PNW. He was hoping to bring out of retirement both Quine and Cattley and he also had a plan to perhaps persuade Martin to once again become Kate Avatar.

There was no problem bringing in Cattley to do the show as he had met JK Stallings very early in his career when he was brought into HGC for a tryout but wasn’t given a job by Tommy Cornell. Stallings then helped him get into the Boot Camp in Mid-Atlantic wrestling run by Rip Chord. Getting Quine to come in was another challenge altogether though. There was a history of bad blood between Martin and Quine going back to 2008 when Martin was a young trainee at The Cat’s Lair. Although Martin is still best friends to this day with Quine’s younger sister, she and Catherine had never resolved their issues. First Stallings had to get Martin to even agree to having Quine on the show, but he was able to do that by having her husband help convince her it was time to bury the hatchet. But getting Catherine to argee was another issue and one that would be much more difficult. Eventually by reaching out to Jamie Quine who was working with USPW, he was able to get Catherine to agree to be on the show.

The taping of the show for these 2 wrestling segments were to be done on the same day, although they would air on different dates. Stallings idea was to be able to talk with both Cattley and Quine about starting the wrestling company that would have both men’s and women’s wrestling. He wanted them both to train workers as well. He also liked the idea of having Cattley around in case there was trouble between Martin and Quine as he knew the big man could probably help separate the two ladies if it came to that. (The result of these tapings might be an interlude someday).

The Arrangement

zRhgQPZ.jpgscCtH5t.jpgecA2t7r.jpg

After the tapings were over, JK held a meeting with Catherine and Jean regarding his vision for wrestling in the PNW. He stated that they would have a 60-minute show on TV on Saturday probably in the morning although he is working those details out with his station manager. He wants it to be a weekly show and then they can have a big month end show or quarterly, he would leave that up to them. He stated that the TV contract would be a 5-year “rolling” deal with sufficient production costs being covered by the station. JK said that the goal would be that after his initial funding for the company he felt that they should be able to survive financially going forward.

Catherine was the first to chime in with what he was expecting out of the women’s division in the company?

Stallings - Cat, the closing of AAA left a huge hole in independent women’s wrestling in this country. My goal is that we will have a place for women in this company. But I think we need to start out with just a men's division and then down the road add a female division. I want the women to have equal footing with the men as far as match time, opportunities etc, but I feel right now that not spreading ourselves too thin is a key.

Cattley - So long term, you just want to keep running this company as a small regional company in the Northwest? Any plans on joining the COTT?

Stallings - At this time no on the COTT. I have already talked to Sam Keith and whether it is the issues with the pandemic or just old school thinking, he doesn’t want to expand right now. He also doesn’t want to bring in women into the fold either at this point even though OLLIE and CZCW are working with the ladies. Long term I would like to see us merge in and become a part of a national alliance like COTT, or even creating a new one ourselves. I have some names copyrighted and I could see us setting up a rival alliance that would be willing to work with the COTT, but be a part of it. That ball is really up to Keith and the COTT board.

Cattley - You have areas that you are looking at to expand?

Stallings - I’m always looking. Right now the Midwest, Great Lakes, Tennessee and even the Rockies are missing great action. If I did decide to proceed with a national alliance type of deal, I would bring in QAW and I’d look for people to bring onboard and run those promotions. But right now I am going to have you two get started here, and I will concentrate on getting this Rainier baseball team out of its 20 year funk.

Quine - Good luck with that JK, the team has been terrible basically my whole life. You have a bigger chore there than we do getting this promotion off the ground. Have you thought about titles at all?

Stallings - That is up to you guys. I can have commissioned pretty quickly whatever title belts you need.

Quine - When it comes time, I’d like to reactivate the AAA belts for the ladies if you don’t mind. We could called them PNW Femme Fatale, etc….

Stallings - I have no problem with that Jean, do you?

Cattley - (noticing that Catherine is looking directly at him) No, it has name brand recognition in these parts. Would probably start us off with some good momentum. So the studio in Auburn and the training facility would both be up and ready for us to go January 1st?

Stallings - They are ready now. All we need to do is finish up the paperwork, that is if you both are up to this challenge and can work together?

Quine - JK, I’d like the opportunity to get to know Jean a little better. If I am going to jump back into this business I’d really like to get to know who my partner is going to be.

Cattley - Catherine is right JK, me and her should get to know each other a bit. Can you give us a few days to talk privately and get back to you.

Stallings - Sure I will get the papers drawn up. I am not into real big legal issues so I’d really like to end this on a handshake deal with a minimal amount of paperwork.

Getting to Know one Another

ecA2t7r.jpgscCtH5t.jpg

After JK leaves the meeting, Catherine Quine and Jean Cattley stay behind and keep talking. They mostly talk about wrestling and each other's career and experiences in running a company and training school. Soon they realize that it is 7 pm and neither have had dinner. So they both make phone calls to have the kids covered. Jean’s kids being in high school are fine on their own, but Catherine has to make further arrangements for her younger girls.

They head off to a restaurant that has outdoor seating. Fortunately for them it is a nice warm September night without rain. Both seem to really enjoy themselves and they agree to call it a night and head to their respective cars to drive home. When both got home they ended up video calling and talking some more. This goes on for a few days and they agree to set up a meeting at the new home of PNW Wrestling at the new training school and arena.

As things are getting set up to open both Catherine Quine and Jean Cattley have been reviewing things and working on a list to offer spots to workers. They have both been busy reaching out to the many people they both know to gauge both talent and potential interest in working out here in Washington state. Catherine has been concentrating on review women to hire while Jean has been focusing on the men.

Cattley has a ring set up in what was once a barn on his ranch property in Ravensdale and is bring in several guys over a 3-4 day period scheduled for mid-November. He invites Catherine to come over for the sessions if she likes and since his kids are older, they could watch Catherine's girls. Catherine asks if she could invite a few talents she would like to take a look at as well if there is enough room. Cattley states that there is plenty of space and it would also be a good time for them to really get into setting up a structure for the company as well.

The Training Session at the Ranch

B9JZdQ5.jpg

As Catherine drives up the driveway, Jean stops the video he was watching between a match between Joji and Chip Martin from a independent show from earlier in the year. Catherine comes into the den and notices the video.

Catherine - Looks like me and you have been doing the same thing.

Jean - There isn't as much film available as I like but I have been going through a lot of ones that I can find from this year but more from last year.

Catherine - Who is the kid against Joji?

Jean - His name is Chip Martin? He has real good technical skills and he is the son of Johnny Martin. He might fit a role or just be an enhancement guy.

Catherine - Is he coming up?

Jean - Not this time but I might do another one of these after Thanksgiving. I'm reaching out to his old man to get some perspective on him.

Catherine - Well let me show you who I have an eye on, I think you might like him. His name is The Historian and he is working with MAW.

Jean - We seem to have an eye for similar type of talents (as he shows her the Historian's name on the list).

Catherine - (Looks at his list and smiles as she points out a few names).

Jean - We will need to discuss product some here soon as JK wants a report.

Catherine - I know but I think a cross between NYCW and MAW would be the way to go. By the way Historian will be here tomorrow to join the camp.

Jean - I think we are going to get along just fine Catherine.

They continue discussing things and who is coming in for a tryout.

The line up of wrestlers coming in

Men - Chuck Casey, Tully Casey, The Historian, Cip Conduit, Aaron Shields, Joey Rush and Duke Hollis

Jean - Oh and I have asked Jonah Pilgram to come up for a conversation. I have an idea for him. He will be here shortly and I want you to sit in and give me your thoughts.

Catherine - Isn't he the Mid-Atlantic Champion currently?

Jean - Yeah, but I have always felt he could do so much more.

noLBuCl.jpg

They settle back into their seats we each pulling up videos to watch and talk about. Before they know it, time has flown by and it is after midnight.

Catherine - I better get the girls home.

Jean - You guys could stay here tonight. There are several guest rooms that you are more than welcome to stay in.

Catherine - Well.....

Jean- It will be fine Catherine, we are business partners so it will be fine. There is no agenda here to do anything else other than make this the best company we can.

Catherine - I completely agree that is the mission.

As Jean shows her to the guest rooms she quietly thinks to herself "For now Jean" and then smiles as they continue down the hall. They finished following the 3 days of hard work, Jean is thinking to himself about the wrestlers that came in. He really like the guys Catherine brought up and feels that she really has a good eye for talent. They exchanged a lot of ideas over the last few days and the meeting with Jonah Pilgram went great as well. Catherine really liked the idea that he had for Pilgram and she felt he could pull it off.

He quickly jotted some more things down on his iPad but was exhausted. He had a lot on his mind and not all of it was about wrestling.... [/i]

They are about 2 months away from opening up and there is still so much to do.

RIPW vs SWF War

Soon after Giant Redwood bought the company, RIPW has declared war on its parent company SWF. The reason for the trouble is not widely known as of this point but it seems to be coming to a head in the coming days. Redwood has been openly critical of the Eisen’s SWF ever since he took over RIPW. Can RIPW survive without SWF? Will it come to that? Is this just an angle that is going to lead to something?

Besides the War with SWF, RIPW has also declared war on QAW and is hostile towards IPW.

Update (December 27th) - In a startling development, RIPW has gone independent from SWF and voids the developmental agreement between the two companies. This has been an ongoing battle all year long between the two sides. RIPW head honcho Giant Redwood and specifically Jerry Eisen. The parties agreed to get together to work out their differences and during the meeting all hell broke loose with Redwood actually choking Eisen until security came in. Still no word on what the disagreement was actually all about but shortly after the meeting (Fight) broke up a statement was released. All workers on developmental deals have been returned to SWF and RIPW will begin filling its roster spots immediately.

I can't tell you how many times I have put that Seattle Rainiers logo in my many fictional OOTP Baseball games.:D

Molokai Milk vs The Historian

The Pearl of the Orient vs Allie Perks

Jonah Pilgram vs Chip Martin

Kira Lee vs Elaine Diamond

Skye Hermosa vs Juliet Balconi

I am using Juliet as a manager in a personal game and it always lists her as a worker despite it being a men's only promotion. This has nothing to do with anything, just vocalizing my annoyance over that.

The Grappler vs Dominic DeGraff

Edited to add: I just saw the bonus. I am not sure which match will not take place. Maybe the Kira/Elaine match.

It's a really good classic logo. I was always more of a Tacoma Twins/Tigers/Tugs/Yankees/Rainiers fan back in the day. But I found that Rainiers logo and even though it was a RW team, I changed the team name in this dynasty from Tridents to Rainiers.

Just hours before the show, Catherine Quine and Jean Cattley are busy rushing around. It feels like pure chaos here as they prepare for the first show in PNW history.

ecA2t7r.jpgscCtH5t.jpg

Jean - Do you miss this much Catherine?

Catherine - (laughs) It was always like this back in the AAA days.

Jean - I guess I was used to having a few more staff members back in the RIPW. I mean SWF was footing the bill.

Catherine - Welcome back to the small time.

While they are rushing around, both the locker rooms are busy. Both men and women have a locker room but then there is a central place backstage that is next to the catering room. Here is where the wrestlers congregate.

The Wrestler's Court

RXmfLGu.jpgFSy1RdM.jpgnoLBuCl.jpg

In a session of the Wrestler's Court we see prosecuting attorney Kira Lee is presenting her case that Mid-Atlantic Champion Jonah Pilgrim didn't shake hands with everyone backstage prior to the show. Judge Milkman has sided with the prosecution and order Pilgrim to buy drinks for all involved.

Everyone had a great laugh.

Taped Thursday January 7th, 2021

At the PNW Studio

Attendance - 65

KMzNs7z.jpgscCtH5t.jpg

The show opens with Jim Freebush (no Lou in the name here) along with a very different looking Catherine Quine.

Jim Freebush - Welcome to the very first Pacific NorthWest Wrestling show here on the Victory Sports Network. And I am very pleased to once again be working alongside my old friend Catherine Quine who is looking very stunning tonight.

Catherine Quine - No too old now Jim. But yes it is great to be here today to open up this new company and have a weekly show. I sure wish that we would have had the opportunity on Victory Sports with AAA.

Jim - Too bad JK Stallings didn’t buy the Rainiers until 2019. Today’s show is our first and we have a very good card lineup for you folks. In our main event it will be The Historian who has been working in the Mid-Atlantic, taking on one of the more popular guys, at least in his own mind, Molokai Milk.

Catherine - Somehow PNW got Milk to get off the beach for this show here in Washington in January. I can’t imagine him running out to Aliki Beach after his match here.

Jim - Here is the rest of the card we have for you all today.

The Pearl of the Orient vs Allie Perks

Jonah Pilgram vs Chip Martin

Kira Lee vs Elaine Diamond

Skye Hermosa vs Juliet Balconi

The Grappler vs Dominic DeGraff

Catherine - And we will have interviews and also a segment that we will have each week with Kate Avatar called the personality profile.

Jim - It should be a great 90 minutes of action and we will be right back with our first match of the day.

Catherine - And before the matches get started we have a special word from JK Stalling who’s in the ring.

JK - Welcome everyone to the PNW Studio and welcome to the first first Big Time Wrestling TV Show. As an Executive of the Championship Committee let me be the first to welcome you here. We have a great lineup scheduled today and you will get this sort of action each and every week right here on the Victory Sports Network. We will soon be announcing how our champions will be established here, but for the first few weeks we will get you introduced to the talent that has been brought in. With that let’s get our fist exciting match in the ring.

Jim - lets head to the ring for our first match.

asjoCUP.jpg

The Grappler RW7JlAW.jpg vs Dominic DeGraff 8C6LeVC.jpg

The Grappler defeated Dominic DeGraff after loading his boot behind the referee’s back and blasting Degraff in the head in 7:52

Jim - Solid showing by the veteran The Grappler in this opening contest.

Catherine - He really didn’t have much trouble with the inexperienced DeGraff.

Jim - That’s how you get experience, going against better workers.

Catherine - Now it's time for our first Women's match in the new PNW era

asjoCUP.jpg

Skye Hermosa enfIAJM.jpg vs Juliet Balconi QvyNpf1.jpg

In a bout that got a decent reaction from the fans here, Skye Hermosa narrowly defeated Juliet Balconi in 10:19 with the Skye Twister Press

Catherine - A nice win here for Skye and Juliet does not seem too pleased about it as she leaves.

Jim - Something tells me we haven’t seen the last of these two ladies.

Catherine - Next we will cut away to our Personality Profile with Kate Avatar featuring Kira Lee who will be in our next match.

asjoCUP.jpg

Personality Profile with Kate Avatar

hB4AdZ4.jpg

Kate’s Guest is Kira Lee

FSy1RdM.jpg

Kate Avatar - Today I wanted to discuss the personality profile concept some with you all. This will be a segment that is shot away from the studio and it will be less about somebody’s feud or upcoming match with someone as it will be dedicated to getting to know the wrestlers a little better. There will be no shenanigans allowed here on the profile. Today my guest is someone fairly new to the business, as she graduated from the CZCW Coastal Resort training school, Kira Lee.

(Kira sits down next to Kate and shakes her hand)

Kate - Thank for joining us here today on the PNW personality profile.

Kira - It’s great to be here and certainly it is a great opportunity for me to be here in PNW.

Kate - Tell us a little about yourself Kira, I know you graduated from the Coastal Resort in 2018. How old are you and how did you get involved in pro wrestling?

Kira - I’m 21-years-old, born and raised in San Diego. I’ve always been a fighter and started training at an MMA gym when I was 14. I started wrestling as a freshman so it was just a natural fit for me. CZCW started adding women’s wrestling around the time I graduated so I went in to the training school for a tryout and was signed.

Kate - I know an old friend of mine J-Ro was instrumental in your training.

Kira - She really has been great. She saw some potential in me I guess but with wrestling she wanted me to add some of my mma training striking that I had as well. She’s really become my mentor.

Kate - With her training, it’s one of the reasons you were invited here. So when did you have your first match on the CZCW roster?

Kira - I did a few dark matches in 2019 but really hit the ground running last year.

Kate - And with CZCW’s style you’ve been mixing it up with the men more than the women. Do you like the inter gender stuff they are doing there?

Kira - It’s different to be sure and I wished they had a women’s division honestly. But fighting it out with the guys has been a great learning experience.

Kate - I see you’ve had a couple of shots at a singles belt and also you and your tag team partner have had a shot at the tag belts. All these titles are held by the guys.

Kira - Yes great opportunities and learning experiences. It would be great to hold a title but I’m still pretty young in the sport. The opportunities to help start the women’s division here was one of the reasons Skye and I jumped at this opportunity here in PNW.

Kate - Yes you and Skye make up the team California Dreamin. I know they haven’t announced a tournament or anything yet for the tag team titles, but is that your goal here?

Kira - It is definitely one of our goals. We’d love to be the very first PNW/AAA Woman’s Tag Team Champions. But I also have some singles ambitions as well.

Kate - Later today you are going to get a singles match on the show. You have a match with Elaine Diamond.

Kira - We both have single matches today, but in the next couple of weeks I believe we will have a tag match as well.

Kate - Well good luck today in your match and thank you for joining us today for our first personality profile.

asjoCUP.jpg

Kira Lee FSy1RdM.jpg vs Elaine Diamond EauDfeW.jpg

Kira Lee easily defeats Elaine Diamond with a flying knee strike in 7:13

FSy1RdM.jpgenfIAJM.jpg

Jim - And it looks like Kira Lee’s tag team partner Skye Hermosa has joined her in the ring.

Catherine - These 2 ladies looked primed and prepared to compete for the PNW/AAA Tag Team Championship.

asjoCUP.jpg

Jim - Coming up to the Crows Nest here at the PNW Studio, I’d like to welcome Jonah Pil…

noLBuCl.jpg

Pilgrim -Now hold on there Jimbo Diddily. You and that gorgeous cougar over there don’t seem to know exactly who you are talking too. (Looks at Catherine and says) And honey anytime you want to go out with a real man, you just let me know.

Jim - Now hold on…

Pilgrim - No you hold on there gramps. As you were introducing me, you got the part about me being the (holds the title up for all to see) Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion, but you didn’t get the name right. I’m am “Playboy” Johnny Pilgrim and I am going to add the PNW Heavyweight title to my trophy case real soon.

Jim - Playboy Johnny?

Pilgrim - That’s right.

Jim - Well Playboy you got a match coming up here next against a very fine young wrestler….

Playboy Pilgrim - Going to have to cut you off there again old Jimbo. Yes see, the Playboy doesn’t wrestle for free on TV. No, if the people want to see Playboy Johnny Pilgrim wrestle, they are going to have to get off their asses and dig into their wallets and drive down to the arena.

Catherine - But these fans here and the ones at home are expecting to see you wrestle.

Playboy Pilgrim - Lady you have one sexy voice, and like I said anytime….but business first. These fans will not see me wrestle today, but the Playboy doesn’t want to disappoint. So I have brought in someone to take my place. So if you want to head to the ring you’ll find out who it is.

Jim (looks at Catherine) - I guess we will go down to the ring and see who (sarcastically) Playboy Pilgrim has brought in to take his place against young Chip Martin.

asjoCUP.jpg

Findlay O’Farraday kViA5Ij.jpg vs Chip Martin N9QZ64d.jpg

In a very short match Findlay O’Farraday defeated Chip Martin by pinfall with an atomic spinebuster.

Jim - Chip never knew what hit him.

Catherine - And he was prepared for a month to face Jonah, I mean Playboy Johnny Pilgram. Findlay just rushed the ring and then it was over after he was done toying with the youngster.

Jim - And look the camera has picked up on a woman in the crowd. jCHwaTy.jpg

Catherine - I know that face all too well, that’s Stephanie Blake. I know she recently retired, I wonder why she is out here watching?

asjoCUP.jpg

Jim - Maybe scouting for this next match Catherine, but I’m not sure what to make of it. We have a newcomer that I don’t even think you are familiar with.

Catherine - I just know she is reported to be from Japan, so let’s find out what we have here.

The Pearl of the Orient

wfq4e22.jpg vs Allie Perks rtkEVK9.jpg

In a bout that had non-existent crowd heat, The Pearl of the Orient defeated Allie Perks after a combination moonsault followed by a cross arm breaker in 6:53

Jim - And now it looks like this newcomer isn’t finished Cat.

Catherine - No she has once again applied the cross arm breaker and she is trying to break this young woman’s arm.

Jim - Quickly rushing in is Skye Hermosa and some officials to separate these two and….

bACSdLe.jpg

Voice (identified as Curtis Merritt in the promo) - You should all be respectful and bow down to this lady. She is the beautiful and extremely dangerous Pearl of the Orient. Now my name just so happens to be Curtis Merritt of the Merritt Sports Agency and we are responsible for bringing this grand champion all the way over from Japan to compete in American Pro Wrestling. She is here for many reasons which you will all find out in ground time. But right now, she issues a challenge to any and all American wrestlers. Do not get in her way. If you do, you will suffer great pain ( as the Pearl nods her head and bows). Now as for the Merritt Sports Agency goes, the Pearl is only the first talent we will bring you. In the coming weeks there will be more (drops the mic and leads the Pearl past Skye Hermosa who came out to help Allie)

Catherine - I don’t know who this Curtis Merritt is, but he has one heck of a competitor there in this Pearl. Hopefully he can control her.

asjoCUP.jpg

Jim - It’s time for our main event.

Catherine - And it should be quite the match between these two.

Molokai Milk

RXmfLGu.jpg vs The Historian brXjg04.jpg

In a match that had decent crowd reaction and decent wrestling, Molokai Milk defeated the Historian in 14:56 by pinfall with the Hawaiian Hammer.

Jim - Molokai Milk has made a successful return to the ring today and he is doing a little celebration in the ring with some posing for the crowd.

Catherine - He has always been a showman, now if he can just focus and stay off the beach for a bit. Maybe he can be a contender for the PNW Heavyweight Title.

Jim - I think I know someone who might have something to say about that, but that’s all the time we have for this week. Thanks for tuning in and see you next week right here on Victory Sports Network.

ooc: Big thanks to The Historian for helping me solve my run time error that was holding things up. I am still tweaking with the format going forward and more of the match write-ups but for a first show I am moderately happy with it. I rushed a bit this evening because I wanted to get the show up and not hold it up any further. We will get better in the presentation, I promise.

Predictions - No one got the match that would happen right as The Playboy Johnny Pilgrim refused to work on TV and was replaced by Findlay O’Farraday.

The Personality Profile will attempt to do that on a lot of folks that we run through. Molokai Milk will be the guest on next weeks show, but Playboy Johnny will get his turn in the coming weeks as well as the mysterious Pearl of the Orient and her adviser Curtis Merritt. I think those are the next 3 in line.</p>

News from around wrestling

GSW’s Hard-1 announced his retirement from the sport later this year.

40 year old Lady Liberty is going to finish out her bookings over the next 3 months and then hang up her tights. Rumor has it though she would like 1 more spot at a title. She was once the AAA tag team champion with Paige Croft back in 2016 and has held the CILL Women’s title on 3 occasions in her career.

A title change in Women’s wrestling in Japan as 5s#W saw Eri Sato win her first All-Asian title in a 3-way match with defending champion Lady Lotus and Monster Ishimura.

And finally in TCW, Chris Flynn has been thrown out of the Syndicate and trouble is brewing between him and Syndicate leader Wolf Hawkins. Frustration regarding Hawkins not being able to win back the TCW World title seems to be making him erratic.

TV numbers

kVzdaGW.jpghxqPxPO.jpg

PNW pulled in almost 7,000 households to watch the first show. The show is on demand as well and we anticipate those numbers growing over the weeks to come.

Jim Freebush interview

KMzNs7z.jpg

Kate - Now I’d like to talk to one of the people that is an unsung hero behind the scenes. He is one of the first two people you see each and every week going forward on our broadcast. He is the voice of wrestling here in the Northwest. Please welcome PNW announcer Jim Freebush to the show.

Jim - Katie thank you for being so gracious and inviting me on your show.

Kate - Aww Jim you always were a great guy. Even though my time was short in AAA, you always made me feel welcomed and comfortable at the show.

Jim - You were a good kid Katie, is it ok I call you Katie?

Kate - For you, yes. Now let’s talk about this new venture PNW. When did you find out about it?

Jim - Catherine called me up and asked if I’d be interested. She stated that she was getting involved and we had the backing of billionaire JK Stalling’s. We talk more and it would be a company that had both women’s and men’s wrestling.

Kate - But you didn’t say yes right away did you?

Jim - Not at first, you see since AAA closed down I did a few indie shows here and there but started working in accounting again. Started my own tax service and was doing some books for some companies. I ended up signing a deal with a larger company and I had to add staff. So I needed to be sure I could add another person to help out, but then Stalling’s said he’d hire me for a bunch of his smaller companies.

Kate - But you still didn’t agree to join the crew?

Jim - I came in for a meeting with JK, Jean, Catherine and you. JK mentioned that we’d have a weekly TV show on his Victory Sports Network and also threw in some guest announcing at a few baseball games each year when the lead announcer (Chris Wiedes) goes on vacation. At that point with the increased business, weekly TV, baseball, how could I say no?

Kate - Well I for one am glad to have you on the team. So how was the first show? Isn’t this your first TV since you worked in USPW (2005-2007)?

Jim - Well it was chaotic getting ready, but then Catherine and I just relaxed and found our old groove. I promise you one thing as I see how hard everyone is working in the back. This product will grow and get a lot better, just hang with us.

Kate - what did you think of the studio?

Jim - Honestly it’s the nicest setup I’ve ever been in. But what do you expect with that computer whiz JK setting up and paying for it. The crew is a little inexperienced but we get it. Just takes time.

Kate - Any last thoughts before we wrap?

Jim - When is the best female wrestler this state has ever seen getting back in the ring?

Kate - I think Catherine is fully retired.

Jim - Not Cat, you Hellcat. I mean 4X State high school champion and someone who was a great young pro. When is Hellcat Kate Avatar stepping back between those ropes?

Kate - (laughs and shots him a coy look) Jimmy, I’m fully retired as well. The only time I’ll step in the ring again is to do an interview. I’m too busy working here and for the Rainiers and being a mom. I just don’t have time to get in ring shape too.

Jim - You look in pretty good shape to me right now.

Kate (blushes a bit) aww thanks but I think I’ll stick to family life and TV work. One last question before we go. Why did you drop "Lou" from your name?

Jim - When I was interviewing with another company after AAA closed, they didn't hire me because my name sounded too "Southern". So I dropped it. Not sure why I used my middle name all these years anyway.

Kate - Thanks for coming on the show, next we will run down the card for the next TV

Now it’s time for our match of the week.

VzB8Thd.jpg

From Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling and their January show Revolution held in Riverside CA. Attendance was around 1500 for the show.

The match featured 6 wrestlers with Matt Sparrow and Going Coastal taking on the strange team of The Beach Boys and Kira Lee. Again with the flakey booking having Lee in with 5 guys. Kira is a great wrestler but CZCW stance on women’s wrestling isn’t best for the business. In the end a very arrogant Simon Waves refused to tag in Kira and while he was arguing with her was rolled up for the pin fall. The crowd seemed to like the match overall despite the finish as it got a 63 score.
