Ah, yeah I only have TEW2020 so maybe someone miraculously has the data for 16 and can convert and share the converted data!

You can do it by downloading the trial versions and doing it in the editor. I know this, because much of my Japan data was given to me by LUKIE and it was from TEW 2005 which needed to be converted to TEW 2010.

This would be awesome to do, kind of like using 100-year old yeast when baking bread. Thou shall convert 15-year old data for gameplay in 2021. :p

You say that, but you wouldn’t believe how handy this February 2004 EWR data has been for a reference source haha

You can also discover managers that were employed and who they should be set to manage. Same for Stables, EWR has them all broken down my promotion with member lists and I haven't found anything online that does that quite as good. </p><p> </p><p> For obscure workers you can look at the EWR stats and think "OK this guy is a decent all rounder" or "This guy is a straight up spot monkey" and then set their stats in TEW to coincide with the way the mod is balanced. </p><p> </p><p> I've also been able to add movesets for obscure workers that didn't have them as there is nothing listed online, but EWR has their moves spelled out.</p>

If they can be of any help, here are my old TEW05 conversions of iDOMINATION, they were mostly as straight up conversion as possible, but I expanded 2010 for the new regions TEW opened up (UK & Europe).

Also if it can be of any help, feel free to use anything from my real world database for this, data or graphics, just credit if you use them.

Almost done with most of WCCW, the largest promotion in the game. The biggest challenge I think I will have is how to scale the popularity in the game. In the original data I'm using, Brock is a 98 overall, yet the promotion isn't global by any means. In fact, it's barely national. Been thinking about scaling all the big promotions down to Medium size, instead of Big, but I'm not sure about it yet. Anyways, here's a brief preview:</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

World Class was big into battle royales IRL, and Andre came through enough back in the 80's and theoretically even more after WrestleMania ended, that he would have left an impact on the World Class organization in canon.</div></div></div></div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">I'm debating taking additional liberties with the roster, especially depending on how everything sims once more is put together. I'm interested in adding a lucha division given Texas' proximity to Mexico.</div></div></div></div><br /></li></ul>

That's an ageing roster isn't it. Brock (30), Cody (22), James Storm (30) and Adam Pearce (29) the only guys 30 or under!! Should be a fun challenge, because the older guys are all fantastic!!

That's true, trying to build these guys up and sign many young workers is gonna be a massive challenge! I wasn't around during the EWR days, I wasn't even born when it came out and the 1st TEW game came out when I was a month old, so jumping into this will be very interesting.

One suggestion I have for WCCW is to rename the Hardcore title into the Brass Knuckles title. The Brass Knuckles title was used frequently in WCCW in real life, and in my opinion, makes it more authentically Texan. Other than that great job so far, I am definitely excited to see where this goes.

p.s. Also maybe adding a six-man title would be cool. The Von Erichs built their territory on the six-man tag, and I think it would be cool to be able to do that with this new WCCW.

I love the idea of a Lucha Division/Influx, especially with WCCWs history with a SixManTag Belts, it could become a "trios" belt, whilst the WCCW Light Heavyweight belt could be the used as well.

I was thinking this would be a good idea at first, but, after reading more into what WCCW is supposed to be like, this line turned me away from proceeding with this idea, " Every week on Ignition, people are busted open, struck with weapons and simply beaten to a bloody pulp in a way that the TWE's sports entertainment can't come close to emulate". With that said, instead, I think I'm likely going to be adding more brawlers (especially hardcore workers), and maybe some younger, but not all that talented workers, to help fill out the bottom of the card and provide some fooder for the upper card. I still want to keep the challenge of starting a game with WCCW and realizing your roster is aging fast.

On the six-man tag belts... yes I understand their history, but I'll likely just have it in the game as inactive for the user to activate. If not, I was interested in seeing if I could put together a "New Freebirds" stable but I don't see many options for it in terms of original WCCW talent to put this together, so I will probably just leave it up to user's discretion if they want to make it active and rebuild some sort of Freebird/Von Erich feud...

WCCW Light Heavyweight? Not too familiar with it, and I don't think it would have lasted.

Yes, I agree. I have renamed it to the Brass Knuckles title in game, since it's a pretty historic belt with an incredible lineage. I am also adding back the Texas Heavyweight title, since I just don't how they would get rid of it. Perfect singles title that isn't on the main event level to be competed over, and outside of the Hardcore and Heavyweight belts, there was nothing for others to compete for.

Much to your request for the six-man tag titles, I may figure out a way to have them active, but for now will likely just have it as inactive.

Last change I believe is changing the title of the WCCW Heavyweight title to the WCCW American Heavyweight title. If the NWA remained solvent, I think the American portion of this would not have been dropped, especially since the NWA World title is still the big daddy of them all...

With that said, here is an updated list of WCCW titles (remember, trios title is inactive at game start for now...)

Yes, incredibly aging. I think this really touches on a major opportunity for improvement with this mod thanks to how much time has gone by since this was first put together. Back when this was first released, there was no WWE Network. There was barely even a YouTube. Creating realistic rosters for this mod was no small task at the time. But now, you and I have the amazing benefit of hindsight, given we are 10+ years from this game start mark of 2008.

I think that's why a lot more guys are stretched out to work longer into their careers (outside of the basic fantasy of just having Steve Austin work in the late 2000s, etc.) Thankfully, there is an amazing track record for guys from the mid-2000s into the early-2020s (crap, I'm getting old) that can help round out these rosters and really add an extra layer of depth that wasn't available at the time. It's actually really interesting to see what sort of perception some workers had at this time in terms of how charismatic and talented they were, versus how they would turn out years later in real life. I want to keep the rosters as original as possible from the EWR conversion, but also want to add in workers where TEW will require balancing and also provide the depth for a company like WCCW to really be at the top spot in the industry. Hard to imagine they are as big as they are with an active roster of only 36 workers.

That's true, trying to build these guys up and sign many young workers is gonna be a massive challenge! I wasn't around during the EWR days, I wasn't even born when it came out and the 1st TEW game came out when I was a month old, so jumping into this will be very interesting.

Hopefully this will give you a glimpse into what the wrestling world was like around 2008, and how many name were relevant then and are not relevant whatsoever anymore (Robbie and Rory McAllister anybody? Those guys just went ghost after they left the WWE). Back in EWR days this was an incredibly popular mod, lots of people did diaries around it. I hope it's not too old at this point it doesn't draw much interest, it's hard to tell how far back the younger audience on here is familiar with wrestlers in different eras...

And, with all that said... I am about 95% complete with WCCW, including modifying all popularities and worker skills. My philosophy is to start by replicating the old EWR stats as much as possible, plus/minus a little based on how I feel a worker really is versus what I feel is trying to "stretch" a worker to make them fit into the universe, or what was a miscalculation of how talented a worker really turned out to be. I am going to leave all contracts to expire at Random time to give the game some randomness on every start. I am still worried I need to go back in and scale down the popularity of these workers, because they don't align with how popular WCCW is in the game and because it makes them really expensive and I'm not sure long-term in the game WCCW can afford them, but we will just have to wait and see how it sims. I am also about 65% done with full work to be done on the TWE roster... will share preview soon.

Oh I'm well versed in everything I like and wrestling is no different! I do remember Robbie & Rory McAllister, mainly for Robbie's appearance in the TNA Impact crowd while being under contract with WWE... Like I said I'm certainly interested in this mod and I'd love to take on this challenge and maybe others if there's anything even harder. Thank you for the response.

Oh there will probably be harder challenges ahead... I’m sure a popular one will be taking Windy City Wrestling with CM Punk and friends to national status will be a popular one!

Man this is bringing back some EWR memories. Spent a lot of time doing iDom files, it was such a fun and creative fantasy scenario. Glad it's coming to 2020 and really pumped to give this a go.

I think from the offset, WCCW and TWE will have two of the older rosters in the game with not too many options for their future atm. It will be interesting to see where players can go with these promotions. I'll likely be going TWE since Shawn Michaels and Batista are two favorites of mine.

But it's been cool going back and reading the wiki, the lore was so well done.

Let's talk pictures.

I'm exploring using GIF sticker pics for this project. I think it would really add an awesome layer of flare to the entire mod. I am also interested in this because I have never even really used the GIF stickers but I've thought of them to be an awesome way to view talent in the game, especially for a project like this where workers will frequently be shared between NWA promotions.

While exploring different ways to create a "card" for each promotion is one half of the fun, the other half is playing with the logos. I love logos in general, from their symbolism and design, to structure and meaning. Unfortunately, I've never considered myself to be good at them by any means, and have to use Photoshop to create them as opposed to the probably preferred Illustrator (which I don't use). With that said, I of course want to use the original graphics as inspiration for this remake, so here is the original WCCW logos:

iBZBoAN.jpgiD3n6KA.jpg

The first one is of course the original WCCW logo from the late 1970's/early 1980's, which I love. Plenty of history in that logo I don't need to get into at this point, but I definitely want to keep it around. But at the same time, I love the modern, stencil font, flaming text logo. This version can also be found on the iDOM Wiki page for WCCW:

World_Class_Championship_Wrestling.png

I am considering using this original from the iDOM Wiki to create one card as an option, but I also want to do what I can to make a new version of this logo specifically for this mod, and I'm playing around with stencil fonts and creating the flaming text effect. My current iteration is as follows and is open to criticism:

8DxhpFy.png

iEBVsts.jpgHr7MQXz.jpg

Not sure how I feel about it now looking at it before posting... doesn't really capture the same flame effect as I had hoped for...

.Gif format would really work well, especially highlighting where everyone is in the game world. I also like the logo update. Though, I would suggest maybe using the square format that Questlove uses for RWC as some of the logos are oddly shaped and the square format gives you a little more room to work with the background.

Are the exclusive written deals a carry over from the original, I ask because personally I'd think that beyond the major stars and maybe stars, the majority of the roster should just have written deals, although all should be iron clad, which would prevent stealing by exclusive deals.
