【Death Match Grand Prix - Night 1】

The »Death Match Grand Prix« kicked off in spectacular fashion when sixteen combatants went to the battlefield to determinante the inaugral King Of Demon World Champion. 251 spectator meant a new attendance record for Ultimate Demon Wrestling, however UDW president Motoichi Arakida stated that the record will be broken again on this weekend without a doubt.

Receiving a running powerslam hurts, receiving a running powerslam by Hiroshi Morisue hurts even more but receiving a running powerslam on light tubes is like the dead himself. Eiichi Umehara was once again on the losing side when he faced "Mohawk Of Insanity" in the main event on tonight's show. You could expect a brutal encounter by these two gentleman, they carved each other in the head with broken tubes and smashed a dozen of light tubes onto each other's heads with an ease. Umehara's dream was shattered when the former Warrior Engine soldier dodged and battered Umehara with a lariat followed by a yakuza kick into a bundle of tubes which lead to that Morisue used a blade to carved Umeharas forehead to a bloody mess. After the match Morisue and Umehara shook hands.

Just a match prior to the main event Toyokuni Hardcore lived up to his name against Waldo Odlaw. The two had a "Four Corners Of Pain Match" where four plates of glass were leaned at the ringposts. After a few minutes when no competitor was thrown into the glass it was Toyokuni who was smashed face first into one of the plates. A thrilling contest erupted, both men threw each other into the plates, blood was everywhere and finally it had an end when Toyokuni Hardcore nailed the Toyokuni Drill onto some glass shards.

The debutants like Sojuro Sen, Acid II or Screamer did a great job, having good death matches in their very first UDW match. Sen, working mainly at the traditional Black Canvas group, pinned the masked american Acid II with a Backbreaker onto thumbtacks. Afterwards Sen said that he's enjoying working in an environment like UDW. Mexican maniac Screamer may lost his match against Shimpei Hirose, however the hooded luchador received a loud applause by the Gunma crowd.

Just like UDW president Motoichi Arakida said, another new attendance record was in the books. With 297 fans at Gunma Hall the venue was near a completely sell out. The »Death Match Grand Prix« is almost over with just eight competitors remaining in the field.

Gunma Hall was shocked! Just seconds ago Hiroshi Morisue got the win over Sojuro Sen when suddenly Kuniyoshi Kawamura and Lug Phelan of all people came down to the ring to beat up the "Mohawk Of Insanity". It was then Sojuro Sen who joined the two cowards by attacking Morisue with a tube, thank god the cavalry came to the rescue of Morisue. Bloody and covered in Thumbtacks Morisue said that he'll win the tournament, being the first King Of Demon World Champion and then he's going to smack all three of them.

Enough with the drama, let's take a look at a fine wrestling death match in tonight's main event when Shimpei Hirose from EXODUS took on mexican death match star Pyromaniac in a Scaffold Death Match! With these two men you could expect a high risk match over the top of everyone's head, Hirose and Pyromaniac battered each other on the scaffold with light tubes pretty hard causing major damage mutually. Hirose managed to slam the masked man from the Scaffold trough a table with a brainbuster while immediatly following with the mountain sleeper. Just seconds later Pyromaniac felt asleep which was the sign for referee xy to call for the bell.

Who's joining Hiroshi Morisue and Shimpei Hirose in tomorrow's semi finals? After a very loud gasp the Gunma Hall was frenetic when "Deathmatch Yakuza" Kimi Kawano pinned former MMA fighter Kuniyoshi Kawamura. The latter was the favourite however it was Kawano who made it through the next round which lead Kawamura to show his respect to Kawano with a small bow. In the other quarter final match Toyokuni Hardcore pinned SAISHO man Kinji Akamatsu after his Toyokuni Drill onto the Kenzan's.

The legendary White Samurai made his DEMON Wrestling debut when he teamed up with Taheiji Konoe against the former INSPIRE guys Morimasa Kato and Tornado Nagai. Despite having a fair and square match the Samurai was just too slow for Kato and Tornado who targeted Samurai's bandaged knee with holds. When Kato applied the choke sleeper Samurai had to tap.

WEXXV LEGEND ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN

★ Three days of a grueling tournament to determinate the inaugral King of Demons World Championship has come to an end. In front of a packed Gunma Crowd (300, Super No Vacancy) it came down to four combattans which were Toyokuni Hardcore, "Deathmatch Yakuza" Kimi Kawano, EXODUS man Shimpei Hirose and "Mohawk Of Insanity" Hiroshi Morisue. The latter had their match in a Barbed Wire Board TLC Death Match which saw Hiroshi Morisue had the better ending for himself when he put Hirose through a board with his Running Powerslam. To the surprise of many Kimi Kawano overcame another obstacle when he defeated Toyokuni Hardcore in a brutal match in which both men sustained multiple cuts from the shattered tubes and nails.

Both participants weren't at 100% going into the titlematch after a weekend like this one. The first minutes were all about who will be the first man to go into the barbed wire or into the three hundred light tubes. Decorated with more power Hiroshi Morisue managed to threw Kawano into a bundle of tubes and immediatly threw him into the wire. Kawano fought back, the people stood behind him surprisingly and cheered for the "Deathmatch Yakuza" against the actual fan favourite with a passion. After a great series of moves Kawano tried to hit his Double Arm DDT for the win, but was knocked out ice cold by a lariat and pinned after the Running Powerslam.

He did it! Hiroshi Morisue has beaten a well performing Kimi Kawano to win the King of Demons World Championship. The veteran wasn't tired to praise Kawanos spirit and to call him the future of death match wrestling, just in time Kawamura, Sen and Phelan made their way to the ring under a rain of boos. Kawamura interupted the newly crowned champ, while Battle Sakata made clear that it's a 3v3 now.. WRONG! Kimi Kawano attacked Morisue and Sakata with Light Tubes and alligned himself with the evil trio. Kawamura smirked, told the fans that their like real "Piratas" and here to shake things up.

WASHI HEAT SCORES A BIG WIN!

Team INSPIRED was again joined by Kyuichi Matsumoto to take on Taheiji Konoe, Sozen Ishinomori and Washi Heat in today's semi main event. Just like the last matches between these men it was a heated affair particuarly when Konoe and Morimasa Kato shared the squared circle together. But it wasn't Konoe nor Kato who made a real impression, it was Washi Heat! The orange masked fighter scored a big win when he pinned Matsumoto in the middle of the ring to the displeasure of Morimasa Kato of course.

Heat grabbed a microfon afterwards and thanked the Demon crowd for their huge support over the last months, helping to grow the name of Ultimate Demon Wrestling and especially helping him to get a win like tonight. Washi, full of confidence, asked Taheiji Konoe for a singles match. Heat stated that he needs to fight "The Animal" to test his strength against the very best UDW has to offer. Konoe nodded and slapped Heat to the shoulder.

After a successful title tournament UDW president Motoichi Arakida takes no prisoner as he announced the next tour with the »Violent Summer Tour« where another championship will be on the line. Four wrestler will fight over title over the next four shows: Former champions Taheiji Konoe and Washi Heat are going to square off on the third day of the tour while Morimasa Kato need to overcome the bulky Sozen Ishinomori on the second night. Murder, pillage and plunder - Three synonyms for the feared pirates of the seven oceans. Just like pirates three guys came down the aisle and did some murder, pillage and plunder -- Kuniyoshi Kawamura, Lug Phelan and Sojuro Sen just had attacked the freshly crowned King of Demons World Champion Hiroshi Morisue and got joined by the defeated "Deathmatch Yakuza" Kimi Kawano. The fans at Gunma Hall were shocked by the barbaric attempt to cut Morisue in pieces with light tubes.

„We felt like that we've got some bound together while hanging out backstage. We came in as freelancer, the fans don't cared about us that much and we knew we need something to do.“, Kawamura, the man with the big scar across his eye, told us. The other three agreed with those words, Kimi Kawano took a deep breathe: „It's not complicated to get our motivation. We knew we need to group together to enhance our force in Ultimate Demon Wrestling. To be honest my joining didn't came long term, Kawamura-san asked me and I had to think about his offer. But when Morisue pinned me, I knew Kawamura was right with his saying.“

With Sojuro Sen, mind you a Black Canvas wrestler, they've got a powerhouse in their ranks who can do both death matches and normal matches, too. Sen was a big fan of Warrior Engine and was happy with the invitation to UDW: „Variety is always great as a wrestler, ya know. I have some dates open to work and it matched perfectly for me.“ Lug Phelan just cracked his knuckles, unable to speak japanese of course.

Los Piratas will be their name: „Just like pirates we love to murder, pillage and plunder, ha.“.. Understand.

KATO TRIUMPHANT!

★ The small title tournament kicked off with Morimasa Kato versus Sozen Ishinomori in the main event on August sixteen. Ishinomori spoke very highly about the history of the Warrior's Heart championship while Morimasa Kato literally spit on the legacy of the belt which upsets several wrestler in the last weeks. Ishinomori's height and weight benefits were a key factor for the balded powerhouse, however Kato is a crook and knows literally every ploy in the game. The former INSPIRE man had his eyes on Ishinomoris mainstay pretty much the whole fight. This match was two big dudes hitting each other really hard! Kato's long wind let him to victory after he choked out big Ishinomori to advance to the final.

WOMEN WENT BRUTAL, CHAOS DEMONS REUNITED!

★ In the semi main event all six women went brutal and tried to kill each other without a doubt. Particuarly Mirai Kajahara was legit pissed about their opponents, she tried everything to win the match but it wasn't meant to be. Althought she and Fujiko Musashibo used the barbed wire boards multiple times, they even threw Monster Ishimura out of the ring through a barbed wire board. Still the weakest link in Onryo had to submit to Naoko Majima.

★ The Chaos Demons are back! Ieshige Nisho and Takeshi Yamanaka teamed together for the first time since 2012 and went full Chaos Demons with their old mask and gear to ambush Yuta Isono and Washi Heat right before the bell. With their ruthless alter ego they had no bigger problems with their opponents, especially young Isono got battered badly.

Your design is so pleasing to the eye, I really gotta commend your work on making sure the format and design of the shows and news stories are high quality. This feels like a continued evolution of your work with WCG in terms of design, definitely not product in terms of company, but design yes. The idea of putting real-life pictures as blurred images to set a certain image in readers' heads, allowing them to place the wrestlers you have in the images is great.

The Pirate stable has an awesome logo and I like their reasoning behind joining together. It's simple, power in numbers. Not everything needs a long-winded explanation and I appreciate that in their reasoning. Still getting used to a lot of these talents as I'm not used to a lot of them, but I trust your ability to get me invested. So far my faorite is Kimi Kawano for his personality so far.

KONOE MARCHES ON

★ The perfect final is set when "Animal" Taheiji Konoe marches on and beat Washi Heat in a very good slugfest. Heat's big dream of being the first WEXX Warrior's Heart champion since the restart was shattered when Konoe hits a lariat followed by his Savage Cradle DDT for the win after fifteen minutes. After the match Konoe and Heat hugged each other when suddenly Tornado Nagai and Morimasa Kato came down to the ring to confront Kato's opponent for tomorrow's titlebout. No blows were exchanged thanks to Washi Heat who retained a furious Konoe.

KATO IS THE CHAMPION

★ It was a day to forget for UDW starlet "Animal" Taheiji Konoe. It was the expected brutal fight, both men battered each other pretty hard, no surprise Kato's chest became red and blue. However the former Warrior Engine man Konoe had to tap to his enemy Morimasa Kato for the second time this year, which lead Konoe to express his feeling after the fight when he cried and was supported by friend Washi Heat. Kato celebrated in front of a silent Gunma crowd with his partner Tornado Nagai, both mocked the inferior. Heat went nuts, shoved Kato and slapped Nagai across the face.

KAJAHARA OVERCAME THE MONSTER

★ She was absolutely aware that her opponent was bigger, stronger and more dangerous than here, nonetheless Mirai Kajahara channeled her fighting spirit to overcame the Monster Ishimura in the first ever Ultimate Demon Wrestling Women Singles Deathmatch! The daughter of the legendary Ryu Kajahara smashed a bundle of lighttubes over the head of Ishimura and immediatly followed with a rear naked choke assisted by a tube to defeat her nemesis.

KAWAMURA CHALLENGED MORISUE!

Los Piratas had a good start in their first official match as a unit when beating the team of The Chaos Demons and King of Demons World Champion Hiroshi Morisue. With their evil tactics it was like a walk in the park to win the match, Kuniyoshi Kawamura pinned UDW vice president Ieshige Nishio after his brutal repeated knee drives to the face. The man with the striking stigman across the face issued a challenge afterwards to Hiroshi Morisue and told the champion that he's going to conquer the championship and bringt it to the Piratas to begin the pillage.

I'll never get tired of the visuals you put out my man, it's always high class and so eye-pleasing. Kato has now disposed of Konoe, is the former champion's first title defense. Is this title gonna be an oft defended title similar to a TV Title of sort but for tours? I like the idea, also with the fact of keeping some of the lineages alive from WEXXV. Kato has that wicked choke that has carrier him to many successes in the past ;) and it looks like it will keep working for him.

The women's Deathmatch being pointed out as special and different for it being the first of it's kind is great to see. I think it's often glossed over when new divisions or unique matches for a certain company happen. But I'm happy with how you presented this and the fact you didn't jump right into adding a Women's Title right away but possibly could be adding it slow or keeping it off entirely. The Hardcore Women may come in and show what they got for a while before officially receiving a title. Especially with the fact you've added two titles already don't wanna add to much too soon.

September is gonna be huge! Not only UDW is going outside of Kanto for the first time in their short history but the King of Demons World Champion has to defend his belt for the first time after winning the strap in a grueling deathmatch tournament.

The Demons are coming to Nagoya! The Minato Terrace Hall will welcome Ultimate Demon Wrestling on September 12 with the first ever show outside of Kanto! The event will be headlined by a Demon Hardcore Match between Los Piratas and the team of Eiichi Umehara and the Brothers In Vengeance Battle Sakata and Hiroshi Morisue. Furthermore MasaMizu, Azumamaro Shimizu and Masashi Urogataya, make their comeback in a six man tag team match. We're also here for some local Aichi talent when former BHOTWG Openweight Champion Mitsunari Fugunaga, former INSPIRE veteran Nariaki Hitomi and former WLW Tag Team Champion Reaper Cicero will visit UDW! The event won't be televised.

Just a week later the Demon cavalry is back in the hometown of Tokyo and will held a show at the Shinjuku-REX for the first time in their existence. The headliner of the show is the first title defense of King of Demon World Champion Hiroshi Morisue who will take on Los Piratas member Kuniyoshi Kawamura in a Glass Board & Fluorescent Lighttubes Death Match! Also on the card will be a Weapon Bringing Death Match between Los Piratas and the team of the returning Acid II, Battle Sakata and Eiichi Umehara. »Deathmatch Gathering« will be shown on Shogun TV just a few days later.

„I did not forget what they've done to me and to the whole company. I know he's a dangerous foe but I'm prepared for him. I'm going to teach him an ultraviolent lesson.“, said champ Hiroshi Morisue at the press conference. Piratas member Kawamura answered: „You were always a talker. Blaw, blaw. To be honest I know you're way more experienced than I am, but when I hit you with a knee in the face you will begging for mercy old man. Trust me. I will leave you in a bloody puddle.“

WASHI HEAT ISSUED A CHALLENGE

★ A sunny autumn day out there in Nagoya when Ultimate Demon Wrestling made their debut show at the Minato Terrace Hall in front of 100 people. The fans were happy to see some Aichi locals out there like Kimitada Yanagita, Mitsunari Fugunaga or Reaper Cicero but also were white hot on the death match maniacs in the main event. However the biggest spotlight was on Washi Heat who pinned Kyuichi Matsumoto in the semi main event to grab a big victory. The masked man grabbed a microfon and challenged WEXXV Warrior's Heart champ Morimasa Kato to a fight for the title, which wasn't well received by the titleholder.

MORISUE WINS, CONFRONTED BY ANOTHER PIRATE

★ The biggest attendance in UDW history saw the first successful title defense by champion Hiroshi Morisue who defeated Los Piratas member Kuniyoshi Kawamura in a Glass Board & Fluorescent Lighttubes Death Match. To the surprise of no one in the venue, Kawamura began like a mad man and threw Morisue just seconds into the match through a glassplate which made the crowd in awe. But we all know our "Mohawk Of Insanity": Morisue came back with real fighting spirit, smashing tubes over Kawamuras scared face left and right and was able to pin the former mixed martial artist after his running powerslam onto the shattered glass. Morisue could barely stand afterwards when he was confronted by Kawamura ally Sojuro Sen, who made it clear that he's next in line for a shot at the King of Demons World Championship. Sen was victourious just a match prior in a Weapon Bringing Death Match.

HEAT ASKED FOR MEETING IN YOKOHAMA

Washi Heat is on a roll lately. The masked man scored another pinfall victory this time over Kato's most loyal ally Tornado Nagai. Heat made it very clear that Morimasa Kato should bring his A-game to his first title defense and that he's going to "rescue" the prestigious WEXXV Warrior's Heart championship. He continued and asked Kato for a meeting next month in Yokohama which the champion accepted.

DEBUT IN OPENER, MAKIOKA WANTS TO COME BACK

★ Pretty fun undercard at today's show. We've got a debut from an unknown wrestler called AK Brute. The beefy guy was on the loser's end in the opener when he got pinned by Sozen Ishinomori, but he was very grateful to have the opportunity to wrestler at Ultimate Demon Wrestling. Backstage Brute said that he's from america but was born in Japan and is open to fight death matches, too. The current SAISHO Destiny titleholder and former WEXXV vet Zeshin Makioka made another appereance in an UDW ring and even won the match for his team. "The Thunder" said that he's having a blast fighting in UDW and he's eager to fight talented Masashi Urogataya one on one in the near future. Urogataya nodded and left without a response.

Thanks for voting for UDW in the recent DOTM! With that win I'm now a veteran which makes me really happy. Thanks a lot!

The diary is no near finished, I just had some rough days and was on a small vacation with my podcast colleagues recently. Christmas is upon us too, so it won't be very active until then.

Enjoy your weekend everybody!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SAKATA-SAN

★ Twentyfive years of wrestling, blood and tears - Battle Sakata has seen it all and there wasn't better participants for his anniversary match than his longtime partner and King of Demon World Champion Hiroshi Morisue and the Chaos Demons Ieshige Nisho and Takeshi Yamanaka. A pretty solid but slow match with a combined age of like 250 years had their fun as well as the 120 fans at Gunma Hall. After the match Sakata got some presents and flowers from several companions of the past twentyfive years.

WOMEN STEALING THE SHOW

★ Pretty much the show stealer tonight came from the intergender match between Washi Heat, Taheiji Konoe, Fujiko Mushashibo and Mirai Kajahara. The women fought like maniacs to counter the strength of the men team and even got some near falls, too. However it was Konoe who pinned Mushashibo after a DDT to get the win. The respect was definitely earned and the possibility for a second match grew. Afterwards in the backstage area Taheiji Konoe was confronted by Kinji Akamatsu who challenged "The Animal" to a hardcore match next week in Yokohama.
