FCW Puerto Rican Championship: Cage Match

Handsome Stranger © vs Mutant

I see it happening here. Stranger's had the title for ages, it's Mutant's second shot so if he loses it's hard to get him back in the picture, and the cage, in theory, nullifies House Handsome

I think Chavez defends against Jones, and I don't see House Handsome dropping all the belts in one night.

FCW Presents: FREEDOM Or Death 13

Friday, Week 2, May 2020

San Juan Highschool: 300 Attending (Sellout)

hVx5Izl.jpg

ZA8wYCW.jpgJYwR4HH.jpg

The show starts with Handsome Stranger marching to the ring with a purpose. Rayne Man is a bit behind on a pair of crutches and wearing a boot to protect his injured ankle. The pair are soon in the ring with Handsome Stranger holding a microphone.

Stranger: "Puerto Rican Power, I want you to come out here and make things right. Mutant is a danger to this company and you reward him with another title shot. Look what he did to Rayne here. Mutant should be suspended for such an act. He intentionally injured this man!"

Rayne is handed the microphone as he just nods in agreement to what Handsome Stranger had said.

Rayne: "That monster was jealous of the fact he couldn't beat me fair. Now I can't wrestle, but here he is getting to wrestle El Jefe? And in a cage? What kind of owner are you?"

PvFKA2H.jpg

An unhappy looking one

Puerto Rican Power does emerge looking as he has had enough of the griping coming from House Handsome. He gets in the ring and looks to both men before holding his hand out. He is handed the microphone reluctantly and he begins to address both men.

PRP: "What happened was an accident. I watched it all go down and it is a shame it happened. We have all had our share of injuries and I do sympathize with you not being able to wrestle I will not punish a man for something that was not his fault. As for you...."

The owner gets a bit of a wicked smile as he turns his attention to Handsome Stranger who takes a quick step back. Puerto Rican Power may be retired, but he is still a big man and it seems El Jefe isn't taking chances.

PRP: "You get two options. You take on Mutant in a cage or I can really make it interesting. I can shake things up and see how you would like to not only share a cage with Mutant, but I could add Bradford Peverell, Kip Keenan, Hell's Bouncer and Giant Brody as well. Take your pick."

He casually flips the microphone to Handsome Stranger who looks a mixture of emotions as he fumbles with the microphone and is actually stunned into silence for a moment. Eventually it is anger that takes over and he points to the owner.

Handsome Stranger: "Fine, the match is on. Me and Mutant in a cage. I am going to break his ankle for what he did and you'll only have yourself to blame when it happens."

Handsome Stranger helps Rayne out of the ring and the pair exit with Handsome Stranger still looking irate. Puerto Rican Power looks pleased and after a few moments he exits the ring as well.

O'Hara: "Hey everyone this is Dane O'Hara with Cueball Lynch and I must say after being away for six years it feels good to be back in the saddle with you, partner."

Cueball: "You always better than Bambino, not by much, but we at least agreed sometimes."

O'Hara: "Well you are stuck with me for more than one show this time around. And what a show we have tonight. The cage match shall be a good one and we have a lot of action leading up to it."

Cueball: "El Jefe didn't sound pleased there and I have a feeling tonight won't end well for Mutant. I also think the big boy of House Handsome, Juggernaut Jones, might have his first taste of gold."

O'Hara: "We also have the LA Stars from NYCW here tonight to take on The Puerto Rican Boys for the COTT World Tag Team championship. I am excited for that one."

Cueball: "If they are LA Stars why the hell are they in New York?"

O'Hara: "Because the world is a crazy place, Cueball. It looks like the first match is about to start!"

hVx5Izl.jpg

3Qiu2b9.jpgHZxt8x2.jpgcB34GrR.jpg

King Kong Kennedy vs Marco Gonzales

The action does not start out fast and furious as nothing about Kennedy is fast at least. The big man does throw his weight around and allows him to control most of the match against the young Gonzales. Marco does get some offense in, but it never seems to be enough to stagger the massive man he faces. It is thankfully a short match and Kennedy wins with his Kennedy Krush.

Winner: King Kong Kennedy

Rating: 27 (King Kong Kennedy: 25, Marco Gonzales: 22)

O'Hara: "Solid win for the big man, but Shawn's kid looks to have a bright future. This is my first time seeing him."

Cueball: "Hanging out with his uncle hurts him. He needs someone proper to groom him. Maybe El Jefe will help mold the kid."

O'Hara: "I am unsure that is the answer, but Handsome Stranger is talented. His ego is just inflated."

Cueball: "It isn't ego, O'Hara. He is just that damn good."

hVx5Izl.jpg

xHQSxZY.jpgek1so3X.jpgHZxt8x2.jpgDeoPC2x.jpg0fw782k.jpg

American Standard vs Salvation

Very much the future of the tag division can be seen in these two teams, but beyond Martyr the other men all are in need of some more polish. American Standard get a bit more offense in than Young & Wasted did last month against Salvation, but both Styx and Martyr seem to shrug off the pain and just keep going. Once the pair does take control they never relent. It is USAce that ends up on Martyr's shoulders this time and Styx delivers the flying lariat. Salvation soon pick up another win.

Winners: Salvation

Rating: 30 (Martyr: 36, Styx: 25, USAce: 19, Wild Red Stallion: 16)

O'Hara: "Something I don't miss. We have had some crazy guys come through here over the years and these two legit creep me out."

Cueball: "You aren't the only one. I don't want get near those guys."

hVx5Izl.jpg

nqSzQBP.jpgHZxt8x2.jpgjYu8na6.jpg

Jerry Martin vs Doctor Tecnico

The most evenly contested match so far with two relatively newcomers try to gain momentum in FCW. It is a stuff, hard hitting match between the two with Tecnico delivering some really nasty looking suplexes to soften Martin up once he starts to gain the advantage. Martin does fight out of the gordbuster attempt and he starts to rain down some strikes on the good Doctor before he is caught by surprise. Doctor Tecnico breaks out the Iron Claw and slaps it on Martin who flails about and eventually has to give up.

Winner: Doctor Tecnico

Rating: 33 (Doctor Tecnico: 26, Jerry Martin: 37)

Dane O'Hara: "Two other faces I am not familiar with. Or I suppose one face and one mask. Both seem to show promise though."

Cueball: "Jerry Martin isn't having much luck coming here. Still unsure about this so called 'Doctor'."

Dane O'Hara: "Well you always have been hard to impress."

hVx5Izl.jpg

XgJ6ugr.jpg1lrx9Uw.jpg

Xavi Ferrera and Juggernaut Jones make their way to the ring. The way Xavi is carrying himself it would almost come off like he was the one having the title match tonight and not the big man. He also does the talking as Jones stands in the ring silently with arms crossed.

Xavi: "Jesus Chavez got very very lucky for one night. That luck runs out. Tonight House Handsome is going to have all the gold again. The big man here is going to break Jesus in half and then later tonight Relentless will defeat his two little friends and finally El Jefe will take care of Mutant once and for all. Who knows? Maybe after tonight me and the big boy here will take the titles off of The Puerto Rican Boys as well. No one can stop House Handsome and our domination tonight starts right now."

Rating: 39

FCW People's Championship

Jesus Chavez © vs Juggernaut Jones with Xavi Ferrera

Much less of a match and very much more of a fight. The two big men are just throwing big strikes at one another. As impressive as Jones look he is not exactly great in the ring and the match seems to be set up to hide it as much as they can and the two big guys stick to brawling and nothing too fancy. Jones does get to display his power a few times by getting to pick up and toss Chavez about, but Jesus is tenacious and keeps fighting back. The champ eventually starts rocking Jones with some big punches that brings him down to a knee. He looks like he might be ready to go for the 187, but sensing the big man was in trouble Xavi jumps in the ring and blindsides Jesus. The bell rings for a disqualification as Jesus and Xavi brawl a bit. Jones starts to recover, but Jesus once again tosses Xavi into Jones to create an opening for him to get out of the ring before the numbers game gets him.

Winner and STILL Champion: Jesus Chavez (Defenses: 1)

Rating: 34 (Jesus Chavez: 39, Juggernaut Jones: 16)

O'Hara: "I don't think that went as expected. Xavi outright attacking the champ there in front of the ref. He knew Jones was defeated from the looks of it."

Cueball: "Defeated? Hardly! Xavi maybe jumped the gun, but he must have known Chavez was going to have his friends come down sooner than later to help him."

O'Hara: "So......the Latino Kings were going to do what House Handsome does and interfere in the match?"

Cueball: "House Handsome HELPS their fellow wrestlers. It is not intereference."

O'Hara: "....right then. We'll leave it at that. We'll see if Relentless and Handsome Stranger can do better tonight."

hVx5Izl.jpg

FugWquQ.jpgHZxt8x2.jpgRAlhLjy.jpg

Kanishoki vs El Hijo Del Neutron

El Hijo Del Neutron finds himself with a new test as he faces someone big enough he can't deliver his Neutron Bomb to. He has done his homework though and knows speed is his best friend. It is the first match where he really seems in trouble though as he finds himself being crushed in a bear hug when the big former sumo does catch him. A rake to the eyes allows him to break free and start to get some of his own offense. It is a short affair given Kanishoki's rather limited ability, but Neutron finds a way to win again This case it is getting the big man grounded then rolling him up with his feet on the ropes to get the win.

Winner: El Hijo Del Neutron

Rating: 42 (El Hijo Del Neutron: 45, Kanishoki: 26)

Cueball: "I really like this Neutron guy. He is smart and finds a way to overcome a man twice his size."

O'Hara: "Not exactly a clean win, but a win in this case. El Hijo Del Neutron is undefeated so far here in FCW, correct?"

Cueball: "And he might be for a good long time. If he keeps this up there is gold in his future."

O'Hara: "We'll see what happens. As of right now he will be trying to keep his undefeated streak alive."

COTT World Tag Team Championship

2BI4KxG.jpgadgjxTB.jpgHZxt8x2.jpgGA0u5vp.jpgndfyGD9.jpg

The Puerto Rican Boys © vs The LA Stars

A well contested tag team match with The Puerto Rican Boys looking to continue their impressive run with the COTT Tag Titles. The LA Stars are no pushovers by any means and are a polished tag team in their own right. They do well at double teaming when they can get away with it and they even score a few close two counts over the course of the match. It is just hard for them to get momentum when Island Boy Apollo gets involved and he uses his power to often push the match in the champ's favor. The Stars do well, but it is LA Star #2 that finds himself on the receiving end of a Welcome to The Island from the champs.

Winners and STILL Champions: The Puerto Rican Boys (Defenses: 8)

Rating: 46 (Island Boy Apollo: 64, Kid San Juan: 52, LA Star #1: 33, LA Star #2: 30)

O'Hara: "These boys have been stellar fighting champs from what I have been told and now seen. Another challenge faced and overcome."

Cueball: "We'll see how long it lasts. They are traveling a lot and that wears a man down."

O'Hara: "This is true, but I feel these two at least has shown the rest of the COTT that FCW are no pushovers."

Bradford Peverell vs Giant Brody

Both men haven't been having the best of luck as of late and the desperation can be seen in the match. Both men are just going all out in this one with the desire to get on the winning side of things for the first time in awhile. Brody dominates the early stages, but Peverell finds ways to stay in the match and manages to get his shoulder up on some very close two counts. For Peverell it is his powerful fists that come into play. A few well placed punches rock Brody and slow the giant down for the first time. The big man does dodge the Dream Left Hook though and headbutts Peverell in response which dazes him a moment. Brody goes to bounce off the ropes and deliver a big lariat, but meets a Dream Left Hook that stops him in his tracks but doesn't knock him down. Peverell looks surprised and while Brody is dazed he nails another Dream Left Hook which staggers Brody, but he doesn't go down once again. Shocked by it Peverell rears back and delivers a third that knocks Brody out of the ring where he lands in a heap. Brody gets to his feet, but it is a bit too dazed to beat the ten count and Bradford Peverell picks up a victory.

Winner via Countout: Bradford Peverell

Rating: 51 (Bradford Peverell: 57, Giant Brody: 49)

O'Hara: "I don't know how he did it, but Bradford Peverell gets a big win right there."

Cueball: "Did you see that though? It took three...THREE Dream Left Hooks. Most men can't stand after one."

O'Hara: "Brody is a monster of a man and it showed right there. Even in defeat he wasn't pinned and it took everything Bradford had to win this one."

Relentless © vs The Latino Kings

The two teams go at it quickly and unlike the match before it is a lot less heavy hitting and more quick, high flying moves. The teams are evenly matched, but in the case of House Handsome there is always the need to look over one's shoulder. It is that distraction alone that allows Relentless often to be in control of the match. That alone isn't enough to keep the Latino Kings down though. Of course as the match drags on and the Kings start to show some fire and get the advantage....

1lrx9Uw.jpgjAsG8T5.jpg

Juggernaut Jones is charging down towards the ring, but Jesus Chavez quickly chases him down and the two big men get to brawl outside. Jones doesn't get involved, but him and Jesus outside are quite a distraction.

XgJ6ugr.jpg

Surprise!

Jones seems to have been a decoy anyways and with the match in chaos now Xavi enters the ring holding one of the tag belts. He has Ramone hold Hector Galindo and comes charging to nail him right in the head, but Hector slips free and Xavi wipes out Ramone instead. Hector quickly kicks a surprised Xavi right in the balls and picks up the title. He uses the title to hit Rob Reynolds from behind who had been fighting with Rudy and quickly discards it. The duo dropkick Xavi out of the ring then set up Reynolds so Hector Galindo can nail the Shooting Star Press. Ryan Holland finally gets his attention away from the brawl outside to see Galindo make the pin. New champs!

Winners and NEW tag team champions: The Latino Kings (6th Reign)

Rating: 49 (Rudy Velasquez: 52, Hector Galindo: 50, Rob Reynolds: 51, Ricochet Ramone: 42)

Cueball: "You have to be KIDDING ME!"

O'Hara: "The plan Xavi Ferrera had backfires and how House Handsome are down two titles. It all is on the shoulders of Handsome Stranger now to make sure House Handsome escapes with at least some gold tonight."

Cueball: "This whole night is turning into a big sham. I can't believe this. Puerto Rican Power is outright trying to sabotage House Handsome."

O'Hara: "I feel House Handsome is doing a well enough job of their own."

hVx5Izl.jpg

2t6ztEa.jpg

Kip Keenan comes out looking ready for his match, but after getting in the ring he asks for a microphone.

Kip Keenan: "I know why I am taking on Hell's Bouncer as do you, Davis. You talk about me being the coward and how you are the best, but yet here you are hiding behind the big man. How about you back up your claims and right now find out who's really the best. I'll show you who the real coward is."

0teBwCD.jpgNcsMUPh.jpg

To no surprise Davis Wayne Newton is not alone when he emerges. Hell's Bouncer is at his side and DWN looks to have a bit of a cocky grin on his face along with his own microphone.

DWN: "You are dense, Kip. I told you I would show you I am the best when I feel like it. Be honest. You are just trying to act like a tough guy to get out of a match against Hell's Bouncer here. It wouldn't matter either way because if it wasn't him I suppose it would be me exposing you for what you are. Someone who talks the talk, but can't walk the walk. No, you don't get the honor of wrestling me tonight. Instead I will just watch my friend here break you."

Kip seems far from pleased, but also doesn't back down and he motions for Hell's Bouncer to get in the ring and come at him.

Rating: 52

Kip Keenan vs Hell's Bouncer with Davis Wayne Newton

Kip goes right after the big man, but Bouncer is just pure power and early on the strikes seem to be doing nothing, but to anger Bouncer. He overpowers Kip and quickly takes control. A lot of the early action is Bouncer dominating and Kip just trying to survive. He gets offense in here and there and it seems to be wearing Bouncer down a bit, but it is a constant uphill battle as Davis Wayne Newton just mocks Kip from outside. Kip at one point does dodge a corner charge and starts to get more offense in. DWN doesn't look pleased as Hell's Bouncer is starting to have trouble with the smaller wrestler. He gets annoyed enough he gets up on the ring apron to cause a distraction and gets decked by an annoyed Kip who perhaps should have kept his eye on his opponent. When he turns back about he eats a big boot and is laid out by the monster. Hell's Bouncer picks up Kip and much to DWN's delight he delivers the Damnation Drop and gets the pin.

Winner: Hell's Bouncer

Rating: 50 (Kip Keenan: 50, Hell's Bouncer: 37)

Davis Wayne Newton joins Hell's Bouncer in the ring and the two start to work over the battered Kip and perhaps looking to put him away for good.

gS5BvmQ.jpg

It looks like one man has had enough as Joffy Laine comes into the ring swinging a chair about. Davis Wayne Newton bails as Joffy nails Hell's Bouncer who is rocked a bit, but does not go down. Joffy stands over Kip who is trying to recover as Davis Wayne Newton urges Hell's Bouncer to leave. The big man doesn't seem to want to listen at first, but relents and leaves Joffy and Kip Keenan in the ring. DWN still looks cocky as Kip is still on the ground barely able to move while Joffy checks on him.

Rating: 55

Cueball: "What is Joffy Laine doing? He has no horse in this race. I never seen him and Kip be buddy buddy."

O'Hara: "Sometimes a man can only stand so much before he can stand no more. He might not be a friend, but maybe he saw the unfair advantage and decided to even the odds."

Cueball: "His funeral. I don't think Hell's Bouncer is going to forget about that chair shot any time soon."

O'Hara: "It is uncertain if it is for just tonight, but at least for a moment Kip has an ally right now."

Cage Match: Handsome Stranger © vs Mutant

There is nowhere to run for the champ as he is locked in the cage with the monster known as Mutant. That being said even within the cage's confines the champ is a veteran and well versed wrestler. He just finds himself having to play it smart and it works well for awhile. He also seems to be dead set on keeping his promise in trying to break Mutant's ankle. Not a bad move since keeping the big man grounded is a shrewd move. The winner must win by pinfall or submission and the latter seems to be what Handsome Stranger is aiming for. There is no real showboating from the champ and so far no backup showing up as well. Just a match between the two that sees Mutant eventually get some momentum when he breaks free from an ankle lock attempt and starts to overpower Handsome Stranger. The champ starts to get beat pillar to post and still no signs of anyone coming out. With most rules out the window the champ resorts to anything he can. Clawing at Mutant's eyes, cheap shots and even at one point biting the big man. It just ends up not being enough. Mutant is hellbent on coming out on top and he starts to throw the champ about. In the end the two are in the middle of the ring. Handsome Stranger is only standing because he is being held up by Mutant. El Jefe says something to the big man in defiance, but he has no strength left. Mutant delivers the Tina Turner and makes the pin. El Jefe has finally been overthrown.

Winner and NEW Champion: Mutant (1st Reign)

Rating: 48 (Handsome Stranger: 45, Mutant: 41)

O'Hara: "What a time to return to FCW for me. Just in time to see the crowning of a new champion!"

Cueball: "This is a nightmare! House Handsome has lost all their titles? Where was everyone? I understand Rayne Man could do little, but the rest should have been there to help out their leader!"

O'Hara: "Even in defeat Handsome Stranger showed why he held onto the title so long. Yes having his cohorts helped greatly, but tonight he showed one on one he can still hang with the best."

Cueball: "Great, now we have this psycho with the title. Something has to be done here."

O'Hara: "The reign of Mutant starts tonight. Be sure to come back next month to see how everything unfolds!"

May Report

nqSzQBP.jpg

Jerry Martin was Injured at FREEDOM Or Death 13 in his match against Doctor Tecnico. Word is he has picked up a bruised pectoral, but it is unknown at what point he was injured. Martin did well to mask the injury to get the match done with the planned finish. Jerry should be healthy in time for the next show, but it is unknown if he will be used or kept off just to be certain he has ample time to recover.

PhlfCrW.jpg

Bull Wrecker was not seen at FREEDOM Or Death 13 due to the fact he was already in New York preparing to wrestle for NYCW the following night. His appearance was part of a deal brokered by FCW and NYCW that saw the LA Stars make their FCW debut in a losing effort against the current COTT champions. Meanwhile Bull Wrecker competed at NYCW's Fire Fight where he lost to Crockett Tubbs via intentional disqualification. It is said NYCW is interested in possibly bringing in Bull Wrecker again in the future.

2BI4KxG.jpgadgjxTB.jpg

The Puerto Rican Boys remain busy as they too were at NYCW's Fire Fight defending the COTT World Tag Team championship against the team of Andrew Harper and Denny King. It was another successful defense and the second time the champs had to fly from Puerto Rico to New York to do back to back shows. The hectic schedule did not end there as Monday they were in Mexico making an appearance on OLLIE's new television show, Directo. It was a non COTT title match oddly enough as The Puerto Rican Boys lost to the team of Amo Del Gato and Dragon Americano.

The pair got a few days rest before things picked up again as they finished out the month with two more appearances. The first was an appearance at MAW's Old School Rules where they defended their COTT titles against The Scheme and retained and quickly had to be flown back down to Mexico the next day to participate in OLLIE's Mexico City Showdown XI where the faced the team they beat for the COTT tag titles, The American Cobras. It was yet another successful defense and the end of a busy month for The Puerto Rican Boys. As of now they have no scheduled defenses until FREEDOM's Fury which will be against IPW's Canadian Hardcore.

Somehow during his hectic traveling schedule Island Boy Apollo has found time to hit the gym. Already having the look of a star, Apollo has started to show off a more ripped physique in recent weeks. Apollo is still young and is looked at as a future star in FCW. For now he seems content working in the tag ranks, but given his new look his run as a solo act may happen sooner than later.

Finally it seems the title change seen at FREEDOM or Death 13 was not always in the plans. The title was going to end up on Mutant, but it was planned to go on longer than it did. After finding out he and Mutant just don't click it was felt that furthering the feud with other matches would hurt Mutant in the long run. That being said Handsome Stranger was more than fine putting the young talent over and at his age he might start to look at staying away from the Puerto Rican title picture. As of right now House Handsome is still together, but it is unsure how long that will remain the case and what direction they might go.

June 2020: Leading up to the Show

nqSzQBP.jpg

It is said that Jerry Martin has already recovered from his injury, but due to safety concerns he will not be working a match at FREEDOM's Fury. Though perhaps not in any major stories just yet it is best felt that his health comes first and he will probably not be seen again until July.

PhlfCrW.jpg

Bull Wrecker continues to be a hot commodity that FCW uses when it comes to trading talent. It is said in order to get Canadian Hardcore they are sending Bull Wrecker to IPW in exchange for their next show. It is also said recently due to the added work of being used in trades by FCW he has asked for a raise and was given one. Both Puerto Rican Power and Handsome Stranger like Bull Wrecker and are doing their best to keep the man happy as they feel he can continue to be a big time player for them.

House Handsome minus their glorious leader are all in the ring. Rayne Man is still on crutches as he tries to get some sort of order as it seems Xavi and the Relentless are arguing with one another. Jones remains silent and stoic as he stands there with arms folded and watching for the time being. It takes Rayne Man getting a microphone to finally get the others to stop bickering.</p><p> </p><p>

Rayne Man: "Hey! This is just what the idiots here in FCW and in the crowd want. We faltered a bit and tonight we are going to recover so stop acting like children."</p><p> </p><p>

Xavi Ferrera doesn't seem too pleased by how he is being addressed and he gets a microphone himself as he steps forward to get face to face with Rayne Man.</p><p> </p><p>

Xavi: "You aren't El Jefe and I am not sure why I should be listening to you? What have you done other than being crippled by Mutant?"</p><p> </p><p>

Rayne Man looks unintimidated even if Xavi seems awfully cocky. Funny how that cockiness fades when he finds a large hand of Juggernaut Jones on his shoulder and the big man pulls him a bit away from Rayne Man who just gives a nod to Jones.</p><p> </p><p>

Rayne Man: "Because when El Jefe isn't here I am the boss. Bum ankle or not you need to remember you place and I wouldn't be so cocky when you are the reason when you pretty much cost Jones the gold as well as Rob and Ramone here."</p><p> </p><p>

Xavi looks furious, but he keeps his trap shut for the time being. Jones looming over him keeps Xavi in check so Rayne can discuss matters freely.</p><p> </p><p>

Rayne Man: "Xavi, time to redeem yourself. Get that title back from Jesus Chavez. Rob, Ramone? You two rest up. It isn't tonight, but get your heads straight and be ready to get back the titles you should have never lost soon enough. We need to remind everyone who the alpha males are around here. Now come on."</p><p> </p><p>

Everyone minus Xavi seems motivated here, but there is no more arguing. Everyone seems to know what they have to do and the group start to head to the back.</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Dane O'Hara with Cueball Lynch again and it would seem that it is not a good day to be part of House Handsome."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Just a matter of getting things in order. They had one bad night after almost two years of dominance. You think that is really going to stop them? Things change tonight."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Well Xavi getting back the FCW People's championship would be a step in the right direction, but they have to feel a bit vulnerable without El Jefe here."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "After tonight you'll think differently."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "We'll see! another crazy night of action which will see Mutant make his first defense after winning the Puerto Rican championship in a brutal cage match. But first we got a lot of action before that and it starts now."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>King Kong Kennedy vs Cobra</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Both men haven't exactly had the best of luck so far this year and look to change that with a victory here. In this case Kennedy just uses his massive size to mostly bully Cobra about the ring and the smaller wrestler has a hard time finding space to try to mount much of an offense. The big man controls the match for the majority of it and doesn't seem to have too much trouble putting Cobra away with a Kennedy Krush.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: King Kong Kennedy</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rating: 36 (King Kong Kennedy: 27, Cobra: 36)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "A step in the right direction for Triple K who picks up a second win in a row."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Just a minor run of bad luck. I won't be surprised if the big man comes gunning for the People's Championship sooner than later. Don't think he'd be wearing it around his waist though."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "I think I have to agree with you on that. We'll just see if he can get some more forward momentum."</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hVx5Izl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hVx5Izl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Curtis Shaw vs Marco Gonzales</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Marco Gonzales finally gets some time to shine. While Shaw controls the early part of the match, Marco starts to show some fire and starts to gain momentum. He is rocking Shaw with some big hits and a t-bone suplex that has Shaw struggling. Shaw struggles to get to his feet only to get hit in the gut with a kick and Marco nails Shaw with a DDT. Three slaps to the mat later Marco picks up a victory.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Marco Gonzales</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rating: 31 (Marco Gonzales: 21, Curtis Shaw: 34)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "He did it! Marco finally picks up his first win as a singles star."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "I guess everyone has to get lucky once in their life."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "I am sure his father is looking down at him with a big smile on his face. This kid is special."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Oh come on. It is one win. We'll see where he is a few years from now."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Lation Kings © vs The Hot Taggs</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

A new set of faces meet the six time champions who are thrown off by that fact. The Taggs are a brutish team that are more than fine using their size to get an advantage to start. Rudy and Hector take some time to make a comeback and they have to use their speed and experience to its full advantage to finally overcome the bigger opponents. Rudy manages to down Kalder Tagg long enough that Hector manages to hit a perfect shooting star press as the champs retain.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winners and STILL Champions: The Latino Kings (Defenses: 1)</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

The champs remain in the ring and Rudy asks for a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

Rudy: "Hey, Relentless. Your boy did you dirty and you paid the price. But we are fighters and we know you are too. Next month come try to take this back and next time tell your homeboys to stay away."</p><p> </p><p>

He smirks and hands off the microphone to Hector who has a few words to say too.</p><p> </p><p>

Hector: "And if you boys want to play rough and bring your friends we certainly don't mind bringing Jesus out to play too. You want to fight dirty we aren't above being dirty too. See you next month."</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Rating: 39</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "The Latino Kings once again showing no fear. I suppose this is why they are six time tag team champions."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "That just means they have lost the titles a lot, O'Hara. They are about to lose them again and we'll see Relentless get back the belts they should have never lost."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Just a reminder it was due to Xavi getting involved they lost them in the first place."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Xavi is going to redeem himself tonight just like Relentless will next month."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ox Mastadon vs Amo Del Gato</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

In the first time in over ten years Amo Del Gato is in an FCW ring. The luchador is a surprise opponent for Ox who offers a hand to welcome the luchador back only to get a slap in the face. The match starts off with Amo using his speed to keep Ox somewhat on the defense as he tries to weather the storm and get ahold of the masked opponent. When he finally does he is able to toss Amo about with ease, though Amo does rake the bigger man in the eyes to get the advantage again and bring Ox down to one knee. That is about the best the veteran luchador can do as Ox isn't down for long and regains control. He nails Amo Del Gato with the Ten Ton Splash to spoil the chances of the luchador picking up a win.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Ox Mastadon</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rating: 47 (Ox Mastadon: 44, Amo Del Gato: 43)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Well I certainly didn't expect that. A special appearance from one of FCW's alumni."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "I have a feeling he regrets coming back after that. That cat is roadkill now."</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hVx5Izl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hVx5Izl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jesus Chavez © vs Xavi Ferrera with Juggernaut Jones</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The presence of Jones alone is enough to allow Xavi an early advantage. The champ is having to really deal with two men because he knows it is only a matter of time before the big man gets involved. It is mostly a brawl with little in the way of wrestling through most of this match and eventually Jesus shows he is resourceful as well as powerful. He seems to do enough to goad Jones into trying to get involved. This leads to Ryan Holland looking to eject the big man. While he and Jones argue Chavez crotches Xavi and then hits him with the 187 Neckbreaker. Holland gets back in the ring in time to make the pin and Jesus bails before Jones rushes back in the ring to try and attack. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner and STILL Champion: Jesus Chavez (Defenses: 2)</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Of course while looking smug and focusing on Xavi and Jones leaves the champ open to a surprise.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="font-size:8px;">The Surprise</span></em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

El Hijo Del Neutron attacks the champ and starts to lay in some stuff shots. He runs Chavez into the post then shows off his strength by nailing the bigger man with a Neutron Bomb. The masked wrestler kicks the downed Chavez for extra measure and leans down saying something that can't be heard.</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "I love it! Well I wanted Xavi to win, but I guess I will take the results here."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "El Hijo Del Neutron has been impressive so far in FCW and it seems he wants gold. I am unsure if picking a fight with Jesus Chavez is a great idea though."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Who's standing right now? Looks like a good idea to me."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Puerto Rican Boys © vs Canadian Hardcore</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The challengers are certainly out of their element as this is a regular wrestling match instead of the crazy matches they participate in over in IPW. Still they know how to fight and use their size which is enough to give them a fighting chance. This match also very much turns into a showing of Island Boy Apollo as Kid San Juan just seems a bit mistake prone this match. The match is a short and a bit of a wild one just to help hide the weaknesses of the challengers and Island Boy Apollo sets up Otis Von Battenburg to be taken out by Welcome To The Island. The champs amazing run continues.</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "The champs continue rolling. So far no one has been able to stop them."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Six months now? Okay I admit I didn't expect them to last this long."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "I hope the rest of the COTT realize FCW is not a weak link at this point. We have some great talent and The Puerto Rican Boys are proving it monthly."</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hVx5Izl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hVx5Izl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Joffy Laine vs Davis Wayne Newton</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Easily the best match of the evening so far, but perhaps not too surprising given who is involved. Joffy has his working boots on and even if Davis Wayne Newton is having a bit of an off night it barely shows. It is a good back and forth contest with both men not being able to ever really get one over. That fact seems to be increasingly frustrate Davis Wayne Newton. Of course things change when...</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="NcsMUPh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NcsMUPh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

<em><span style="font-size:8px;">Beefy</span></em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Hell's Bouncer stalks towards the ring and while he doesn't outright get involved his presence starts to shift the match in Davis Wayne Newton's favor.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="2t6ztEa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2t6ztEa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

<em><span style="font-size:8px;">Another visitor</span></em>!</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Kip Keenan has seen enough and he comes out to try and nullify the fact Hell's Bouncer is out there, but instead it just creates more of a distract since he and Bouncer start to square off. David Poker is trying to get the two to separate while keep an eye on the match, but that isn't exactly easy. DWN is more than fine with using this distraction to his advantage. He struggles with Joffy then manages to kind of bump into Poker then roll up Joffy with a handful of tights. Poker turns his attention to the pin and doesn't see DWN's cheating ways as he counts the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Davis Wayne Newton</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rating: 58 (Davis Wayne Newton: 45, Joffy Laine: 56)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

DWN bails out as Kip dives in to make sure there is no after match attack. DWN just stands next to Hell's Bouncer looking smug as ever. Kip helps Joffy to his feet and asks for a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

Kip: "Enough of these games. How about a tag match? You get to bring you big brute of a friend and we'll take you on. Time for you to stop ducking me."</p><p> </p><p>

Davis Wayne Newton rolls his eyes, but then he considers. He gives a sly smile as he looks to Hell's Bouncer then just nods to Kip. No words are said as DWN whispers something to Hell's Bouncer and the pair leave without incident.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Rating: 51</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "I certainly don't like that look. Davis Wayne Newton is up to something."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Of course he is! Kip just played into his hands. What kind of idiot wants to get in the ring with Hell's Bouncer again after the last time?"</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "I am sure he sees this as the only way to get a match with Davis Wayne Newton and having a better way to keep an eye on the big man."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Heh, Joffy shouldn't be too happy. He just got dragged into a match where he is likely going to be crushed along with Kip."</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hVx5Izl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hVx5Izl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Billy Russell vs Bull Wrecker</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Even close to retirement Billy Russell is still showing he can go without age really slowing him down. He does seem a bit unhappy though about something and there are just times where it seems he is sandbagging for Bull Wrecker. Thankfully Wrecker is strong enough to deal with that issue without much effort and the two have a competitive match in spite of that. The two veterans fight it out with Russell coming close to winning a few times to try and go out on a high note. Wrecker seems to think overwise and his brute strength eventually ends up being the key to him winning. He lays out Russell with a Pancake Maker and ruins what very well might be Billy Russell's last match.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Bull Wrecker</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rating: 48 (Bull Wrecker: 44, Billy Russell: 57)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Billy Russell is a FCW legend, but tonight he couldn't come out on top."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Youth wins out here. Billy is an old man. He should have quit when he still was at the top of his game."</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "You realize he and Handsome Stranger are almost the same age right?"</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Totally different. El Jefe is spry as he was twenty years ago!"</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "You view the world in an odd way. It is time for the main event though!"</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hVx5Izl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hVx5Izl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Mutant is on his way out to the ring, but Bull Wrecker was still lingering around taking in his big win. That is when he turns about and ends up face to face with his former tag partner. The two big men say nothing as their gazes lock. Neither man moves for a few moments before eventually Bull Wrecker's gaze moves to the title for a brief moment. He then moves out of the way as security was coming out to make sure a fight doesn't break out. Wrecker leaves without incident and Mutant continues his way to the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mutant © vs Harlem Haynes</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

A big beefy boy brawl ensues with nothing fancy really being seen here. The two lay into one another with everything they got and Haynes holds his own for awhile. Mutant just seems to be too much though and the champ starts to roll when the crowd gets behind him. He rocks Haynes with some stiff punches and forearms before grabbing his dazed opponent. He looks ready to deliver the Tina Turner, but then smirks some after a moment and instead he hits what looks like a reverse version of the move to the surprise and delight of the crowd. He covers the downed Haynes and Mutant finds his first ever defense a successful one.</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "Mutant retains after a hard hitting match. What a way to end the night."</p><p> </p><p>

Cueball: "Heh, I would be careful if I was Mutant. He's a big guy, but he isn't used to having such a target on his back. Can he take beatings like this month in and month out and still retain?"</p><p> </p><p>

O'Hara: "If anyone can endure such trials he is certainly one of FCW's best candidates, but as always only time will tell. That is all for tonight! Be sure to join us again next month, everyone!"</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Hey all, sorry for a bit of a delay there, but last week and this next week at work are going to be a bit hectic. Going to try to keep things rolling at a steady pace, but don't be too surprised if July's show isn't posted until the weekend at earliest.</p><p> </p><p>

Glad to see several of you commenting and enjoying things. Also want to give thanks to the DotM nomination. That is always humbling to see and I appreciate someone enjoys my writing that much. We are also half way through 2020 already and in game I am in January 2021 so I at least have a few more shows worth of content to work with so hopefully I can keep this wild ride going for a bit longer.</p>

June Report

2BI4KxG.jpgadgjxTB.jpg

The win against Canadian Hardcore would be the last defense by The Puerto Rican boys as they lost the COTT World Tag Team titles to the strange team of Josh Jacobs and Jonah Pilgrim. It is a bit of a weak finish to a strong, six month run by The Puerto Rican Boys. It was felt the loss should be to a more established team and it will be interesting how long the run will be for Jacobs and Pilgrim. In the end Puerto Rican Power and Handsome Stranger were pleased with the fact the pair was given a strong run with several defenses and many in the COTT feel their run helped improve the prestige of the belts.

PvFKA2H.jpg

Otherwise the rest of the month of June was uneventful for FCW, but it is also believed Puerto Rican Power has a big announcement that might come as soon as The Freedom of Movement in July. Overall things are still vague, but it may have an impact on the future of the Puerto Rican championship. Power and Handsome Stranger have so far this year looked to test out pushing talents that haven't fully been in the main event scene so far so the announcement may further that agenda.

Aaaaand I suppose I could have done this last pose because apparently nothing happened leading into July. I personally blame MHero for this, but to make it up to you all have July's card!
