Ring of Honor: Reimagined

Recommended Posts

Okay, so those journals of mine didn't work out, eh? Sorry.

I sincerely hate ending a journal because of wasting people's time reading these things but after literally every journal I do I look for what worked and what didn't – for both me and the journal. I felt that the style I was producing was fine but my real life often got in the way of how long it took to execute these things. I've always been more about the overall story than the actual writing of the matches word for word, so I tried to alter how I deliver the shows. My first show will be stylized like a normal ROH TV (although it isn't). It's just to get the ball rolling and I will get back to my traditional card delivery on bigger shows. I think this will help me focus more on the story, a little less on graphics, and ultimately it will help time elapse faster than my current speed which is 1:1 with life.

Producing one show a week is good, but it also takes a lot of time to do for just one week of story development. With this one, I wanted to focus more on the story I'm trying to tell, not on the graphics I make. I needed to find some sort of middle there. I hope you can understand.

Also, thanks to several people along the way who've been real chill to talk with on here. TexasRangers13 and BigJ for all of the friendship on this forum over the years. Dalton for always being willing to answer a question or just for his journals being a big inspiration to me and how he moves them along. Kanegan for all the support. To Historian and Togg for everything, they've done for this forum. I find myself super appreciative of you guys, and to everyone who comments on not just this journal, but any journal on this site and continues to keep this forum alive.

I hope you enjoy my version of Ring of Honor. I realize they're most likely closing IRL, but for this version, I tried to reasonably predict (sort of) what type of roster they may have? Either way, I hope you like it and if you don't please be sure to tell me, I can take it – its how I learn.

I wondered if anyone would pick up the ROH mantle, and I'm glad to see this diary happening! The return of Bryan Danielson is massive. He can help elevate the younger stars and I can't wait for him to face Jonathan Gresham.

Predictions:

Matt Silva

PJ Black

Jonathan Gresham

First thank you to both you and Bigelow for making predictions. ROH gave me a real-life story to build on right as I was thinking of a journal to come back with. I am going to try and move this journal a bit faster on the TV show side and spend more time making the bigger shows look better. I appreciate your comments as always!!

Boom. Three for three.

Excellent show. I've not kept up with ROH for years but I've always considered them special. Really happy to see a diary happening. I like that you're incorporating the sportsmanship and, of course, wrestling as a competitive sport.

Will be interested to see what happens with Windham Rotunda, possibly an odd fit for ROH but let's see where you go with it.

Definitely an odd fit. Since Ring of Honor has went on hiatus and is said to be coming back, I know they would change their product around a little bit (judging from the announcement). Windham is sort of my way of dipping a tiny bit into the "popular" genre while still trying to maintain the respect and thing that made ROH unique - something I think real-life management would have to balance. Thank you for your comments on the show as well, really happy to have you along.

I really like the format of the show, and I think Gresham has a great justified heel outlook. Also looking forward to seeing who becomes part of the Kult of Windham. Great stuff!

The Kult will come together and will surprise some people with who is in it, but I am looking at these guys not as their former gimmicks, but who I think they can be if given the chance.

Great stuff, will be following!

Thank you! I appreciate that a ton.

Cult of Windham > The Righteous The Foundation against Danielson bugged me at the beginning, but now it makes perfect sense. Bryan "betrayed" their ideals by "selling out" to the E

Awesome stuff so far

Thank you! I think some of the stories I have start a little slow or odd lol, but I have a plan for them all which I guess is better than no plan at all (what I usually do)

Great start so far. Foundation against American Dragon smells money. Also interested in who gets recruited to Cult of Windham.

Thanks man, I see the first name having people giving up on it lol, maybe not. I have a plan for it, but we'll see what happens. Appreciate you reading man.

A big DOH! on my part is I accidentally deleted the save game for this, but I am going to rebook the few shows this week I've already done. I like this journal and want to save it so I can continue writing. I like the minimal graphics I have to do and how quickly I can put a show out. Just full disclosure. Also Bigelow, thank you! I was nervous to make Taylor be the first one but felt it made the most sense due to the relationship.

Gresh/Yehi is a great main event. Also good to see AR Fox land here!

Losing a save file sucks, but the game is still pretty young. I would recommend turning off injuries when you start it over, and bringing them back when the first month is done. Will help avoid any trouble with simulation
