Uncrewed
NXT 2.0: IT HITS DIFFERENT: After losing the Wednesday Night War to AEW, Vince McMahon realized something new needed to be done with NXT. He realized that the era of indy wrestlers doing flippy stuff for two hours just wasn’t cutting it any more, so he needed to do something new… Enter Shane McMahon. Shane pitched the idea of NXT 2.0 in August 2021, pitching it as a mix of great wrestling and great sports entertainment to create the next generation of main eventers. Vince was enthralled by the idea, greenlighting it and handing the reins of NXT from his son-in-law (Triple H) to his son. Since its debut in September 2021, NXT 2.0 has garnered a lot of positive momentum and they show no signs of slowing down. Heading into 2022, NXT 2.0 looks to firmly make their mark on the pro wrestling industry! (OOC: I'm back! For those who don't remember, a hard drive problem ruined the last dynasty I did (an AEW one), so now with that all squared away, I decided to start another modern day dynasty with a show that's been really catching my eye, NXT. I hope y'all enjoy the ride!)

Uncrewed
NXT: New Year's Evil- January 4th, 2022: Live from: Orlando, Florida Commentary Team: Vic Joseph & Wade Barett We welcome you live from Orlando, Florida for NXT: New Year's Evil! Vic Joseph & Wade Barrett welcome everyone to the first episode of NXT in 2022 before they're interrupted by Imperium's entrance... Six Man Tag Team Match: VS MSK & Riddle vs Imperium This match came about after Riddle showed up in NXT a few weeks ago as MSK's "shaman." They then challenged Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel last week, but were interrupted by the return of WALTER, leading to this six man tag match! This match is a good match and the crowd is solidly behind MSK & Riddle. Nash Carter and Marcel Barthel start the match off with Carter hitting Barthel with a running shotgun dropkick. Barthel stumbles back into his corner, which allows Fabian Aichner to tag himself in. Aichner blasts Carter with a lariat before hitting him with a powerslam. Aichner throws Carter off the ropes, throws him up in the air, and hits him with a pop-up European uppercut! Aichner attempts a military press slam, but Carter reverses it into a tilt-a-whirl headscissors, which sends Aichner to the outside. Carter then tags out to Riddle, runs off the ropes, and hits Aichner with a suicide dive! Barthel and WALTER try to attack Carter on the outside, but Riddle and Wes Lee run off the ropes and hit them with stereo suicide dives! Riddle throws Aichner back in the ring, goes to the top rope, and hits him with a moonsault. Riddle goes to attempt his version of an RKO, but Aichner reverses it into a big back suplex. The match comes to an end when both men make the hot tag to their individual partners (Riddle tags out to Wes Lee, Aichner tags out to WALTER). Wes Lee runs off the ropes, ducks a lariat from WALTER, and attempts a running splash, but WALTER hits him with a knife edge chop instead! WALTER whips Lee into the corner and hits him with a thunderous chop. WALTER then picks up Lee and hits him with his finisher, the Imperium Bomb (Folding Powerbomb). Barthel and Aichner keep Carter and Riddle at bay as WALTER covers Lee and gets the three. WINNERS: Imperium GRADE: After a quick commercial break, we cut to a video hyping up the annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic! The video shows the previous winners of the tournament before revealing the bracket for the upcoming men's tournament: The video ends by announcing that the tournament begins next week, with the women's tournament starting in February! GRADE: We then cut to Odyssey Jones backstage. Odyssey says that he's very excited for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, because he gets to team with a man he knows very well. Odyssey says that he and his partner go way back, but the NXT universe may not know him. Odyssey then introduces his friend... Who he calls Tankman! Odyssey Jones: "Ya see, me and Tankman grew up in a rough area in Long Island, so we had to always have each others backs. While we might not be in Long Island any more, we're still two ass-kickers who aren't afraid to back down from anything!" Tankman finishes by saying that he and Odyssey are going to fight to the max in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic! GRADE: NXT North American Championship/NXT Cruiserweight Championship Unification Match: w/VS w/ Carmelo Hayes (NXT North American Champion) w/Trick Williams vs Roderick Strong (NXT Cruiserweight Champion) w/Malcolm Bivens This match came about a few weeks ago, with both men claiming that they were the better champion. Eventually they decided to settle this in the ring, with the winner unifying both the NXT North American and NXT Cruiserweight Championships. This match is a good match and the crowd seems to behind Melo. The match starts off with a running high knee from Strong, which sends Melo crashing to the outside. Melo and Trick Williams regroup on the outside as Strong taunts both of them. Hayes gets back in the ring, ducks a leaping lariat from Strong and hits Strong with a belly to belly suplex. Melo throws Strong into the corner and unleashes a barrage of punches onto him. Melo throws Strong off the ropes and attempts a back body drop, but Strong lands on his feet and hits Melo with a Pele kick. Strong sits Melo up, runs off the ropes, and hits him with a soccer kick square in the chest. Strong then attempts his finisher, the End of Heartache (Vertical Suplex into Double Knee Backbreaker), but Hayes reverses it into a big German suplex. Hayes then goes to the top rope and attempts his finisher, a diving leg drop, but Strong rolls out of the way and hits Hayes with a jumping high knee! Strong goes for the cover, but Melo kicks out at two! What more has to give for someone to win here?!? The match comes to an end when Strong picks up Melo and attempts the End of Heartache once again, but Hayes reverses it into a tornado DDT that spikes Strong right into the mat! Hayes then goes to the top rope and hits Strong with the diving leg drop! Melo covers Strong and gets the three! Carmelo Hayes has unified the NXT North American and NXT Cruiserweight Championships! WINNER: Carmelo Hayes GRADE: After a commercial break, "The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles makes his way to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. Styles thanks the NXT crowd for such a warm welcome for someone who never even appeared in NXT before a few weeks ago before he brings his attention to Grayson Waller... AJ Styles: "Grayson, you've been running your mouth nonstop for the past few weeks, clamoring for attention. So you know what, you've got my attention, now what do you want with it?" With that, Grayson Waller makes his way down to the ring to a chorus of jeers from the crowd. Grayson grabs a microphone and mockingly welcomes Styles to NXT. Grayson runs down Styles some more before saying that he only want thing from AJ... Grayson Waller: "AJ, I only wanted one thing from you. I want to kick your ass next week on NXT!" Styles thinks about it for a quick second before accepting the challenge! Styles finishes by saying that he's going to enjoy putting Waller in his place, where he belongs! As Styles leaves, Waller tries hitting him with his microphone, but Styles senses it and hits Waller with a Pele kick! Styles then goes to the apron and attempts the Phenomenal Forearm, but Waller manages to get out of the ring before anything can happen. The two men stare each other down as we go to commercials. GRADE: VS Santos Escobar vs Xyon Quinn These two have been feuding over the past few weeks mostly thanks to Elektra Lopez. Lopez, who's a member of Legado del Fantasma, seems to be a bit smitten with Xyon, much to Escobar's chagrin. But she didn't accompany either man out to the ring tonight. This match is a decent match and the crowd is solidly behind Quinn. Escobar and Quinn start the match off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which Escobar hits Quinn with a big suplex. Escobar throws Quinn of the ropes and hits him with a spinebuster. Escobar attempts a backbreaker, but Quinn reverses it into an armdrag. Quinn throws Escobar into the corner and hits him with a big boot. Quinn throws Escobar off the ropes and attempts a lariat, but Escobar ducks it and hits Quinn with a running splash. Escobar goes to attempt his finisher, the Phantom Driver (Samoan Driver), but Quinn reverses it into an exploder suplex. The match comes to an end when Quinn attempts his finisher, a running elbow smash, but before he can do it... Elektra Lopez appears on the ramp! Elektra eventually gets in the ring as Santos begins distracting the referee. Elektra asks Quinn for a kiss, but as he goes in, she kicks him in the groin! As Quinn keels over in pain, Santos runs over and hits him with the Phantom Driver! Santos covers Quinn and gets the three. WINNER: Santos Escobar GRADE: After that match is over, we cut to the parking lot, where Riddle and MSK are hanging out. Riddle apologizes to Wes Lee and Nash Carter for not beating Imperium tonight before he tells them an interesting nugget of info. Riddle: "Bros, I know tonight wasn't our tonight, but I just know you two are gonna win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic bros. However, I think you bros need someone higher than this shaman to do so." Riddle then gives Lee and Carter a card, supposedly containing the location of the "higher shaman." Riddle then wishes Lee and Carter the best of luck before he rides off into the night on his scooter. GRADE: NXT Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: VS VS Mandy Rose © vs Cora Jade vs Raquel Gonzalez Mandy Rose won the NXT Women's Championship from Raquel Gonzalez back at Halloween Havoc in October. Since then, Raquel has fought hard for a rematch, but has found a curious obstacle by the name of Cora Jade. Jade, who's only been in NXT for a few months, has pinned Rose twice now, leading to her inclusion here. This match is a good match and the crowd is split between Jade and Gonzalez. Raquel and Cora start the match off by taking out Mandy, as they both hit her with a double clothesline that sends her crashing to the outside. Raquel then hits Cora with a big boot. Raquel throws Cora into the corner and hits her with a knife edge chop. She then launches Cora across the ring with a biel throw. Raquel picks up Cora for a chokebomb, but Mandy gets back in the ring and clips Raquel's knees. With Raquel on one knee, Mandy hits her with a step-up knee strike. Mandy goes for the cover, but Cora breaks it up. Cora grabs Mandy and hits her with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Cora then goes to the top rope and hits Mandy with a moonsault. Cora goes for the cover, but Raquel breaks it up. Raquel then picks up Cora, holds her up in a military press position, and throws her from the ring and through the announce table!!! The match comes to an end when Raquel tries picking up Mandy, but Mandy fires back with a lead pipe right to Raquel's injured knee! While technically legal, it's definitely an underhanded tactic from the champ. Mandy then taunts Raquel before hitting her with her finisher, the Toxic Rose (Running Bicycle Knee Strike). Mandy covers Raquel and gets the three. WINNER: Mandy Rose GRADE: After that match is over, we cut to a video hyping up the upcoming NXT Championship match between Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker. The video recaps the last time these two met back at Halloween Havoc in October. Bron came close to defeating Ciampa that night, but one simple mistake cost him the title. Since then, Bron's set out to prove himself as a worthy challenger and when he pinned Ciampa to win WarGames last month, he certainly did that. Will Bron Breakker make the most of his second chance or will Tommaso Ciampa prove that the old guard still has a lot to prove? GRADE: NXT Championship Match: VS Tommaso Ciampa © vs Bron Breakker This match is a good match and the crowd is split between both men. Breakker and Ciampa start the match off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which Breakker launches Ciampa across the ring with a belly to belly suplex. Breakker throws Ciampa into the corner and hits him with a knife edge chop. Breakker attempts a military press slam, but Ciampa wiggles out of it and hits him with a neckbreaker. Ciampa throws Breakker off the ropes and hits him with a high knee. Ciampa throws Breakker onto the apron and attempts the Willow's Bell (Middle Rope Apron DDT), but Breakker fights out of it, goes to the top rope, and hits Ciampa with a flying shoulder tackle. Breakker throws Ciampa off the ropes and hits him with a big back body drop, followed up by a standing moonsault! Breakker goes for the cover, but Ciampa kicks out at two. Breakker attempts a running powerslam, but Ciampa wiggles out of it and sends Breakker crashing into the turnbuckle. Ciampa hits Breakker with a lariat before throwing him out of the ring and back onto the apron. Ciampa then hits Breakker with the Willow's Bell! Ciampa goes for the cover, but Breakker kicks out at two. A frustrated Ciampa throws Breakker out of the ring and throws him shoulder-first into the ring steps. Ciampa then takes the cover off of the commentary table and tries sending Breakker through it with a suplex, but Breakker reverses it and sends Ciampa through it with a big spinebuster!!! The match comes to an end when Breakker throws Ciampa back in the ring and hits him with his finisher, the Breakkdown (Military Press Powerslam)! Breakker goes for the cover, but Ciampa kicks out just before three!!! Breakker can't believe it! Breakker picks Ciampa up and attempts another one, but Ciampa wiggles out and hits Breakker with his finisher, the Fairy Tale Ending (Double Underhook Sit-Out Facebuster)! Ciampa goes for the cover... 1! 2! Breakker kicks out! A stunned Ciampa tries to hit Breakker with another Fairy Tale Ending, but Breakker reverses it and hits Ciampa with the Breakkdown! Instead of going for the cover, Breakker decides to lock Ciampa in a move his dad made famous, the Steiner Recliner (Camel Clutch)! Ciampa tries fighting out of it, but he eventually has no choice but to tap out! We have a new NXT Champion and his name is Bron Breakker!!! WINNER: Bron Breakker GRADE: After the match is over, Breakker celebrates his NXT Championship win. Tommaso Ciampa eventually gets up, grabs Breakker by the shoulder, and eventually extends his hand! Breakker and Ciampa shake hands as Ciampa leaves the ring to let Breakker have his moment of glory. Breakker continues to celebrate until... SAMOA JOE RUNS DOWN TO THE RING AND ATTACKS HIM!!! We haven't seen Samoa Joe since he vacated the NXT Championship back in September, what the hell is he doing here?!? Joe beats the living daylights out of Breakker before locking him in the Coquina Clutch (Rear Naked Choke)! Breakker eventually passes out, but Joe keeps the Coquina Clutch locked in! Eventually, officials run down to the ring and break the hold. Joe then picks up the NXT Championship and holds it high in the air as NXT comes to a close. Uncrewed
Now the real question, is Joe getting released? It would be very on-brand, but not for now Prediction Contest: This Show/Overall: 1) ctessier1997- 4/5 1) Munit- 4/5 1) ThatYoung450- 4/5 1) Smasher1311- 4/5 1) MisterRomanini- 4/5 1) Blodyxe- 4/5 7) James The Animator- 3/5 7) KyTeran- 3/5 9) angeldelayette- 2/5 9) Mootinie- 2/5 Fun bit of trivia here, despite Mootinie and angeldelayette getting the two worst scores, they were the only two to get the MSK & Riddle/Imperium match right. Speaking of that, Riddle's done here in NXT for now, he's going back to the main roster. As for his fellow RAW roster member (AJ Styles), well we'll see what happens on next week's episode! Thank you to everyone who predicted/commented! The card for the next NXT will be up later today!
