[CVERSE] The FUTURE of Joshi Wrestling - NeoTokyo Joshi Futures

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, welcome to my save using the awesome CVerse Women’s Revolution Mod. I know it’s quite unusual, but I decided to start my dynasty after I’ve already played the first two years with the company.

I did it because I wanted to get familiar with the schedule, the rythm and the booking of a tiny joshi company. Now, with some experience and background, the glorious road to joshi’s stardom can begin! Hope you will have fun, down here a small recap of the first two years.

To be clear, I WILL POST ONLY EVENTS and not tour shows.

INTRODUCTION

NUxTG1W.jpgzBADlaV.jpg

Based in Tokyo, NeoTokyo Joshi Futures is a joshi wrestling promotion that focuses on a lucharesu based product they call Future-Resu. With a fast paced, hard-hitting style NeoTokyo has adopted a product very appealing to fans. If they can create some established talent and somehow keep that talent around for the long haul, they could become a big player in the joshi scene in Japan. The owner is former 5SSW World Champ, Saeko Hiroyuki, who opened the company in January 2020. NeoTokyo Joshi Futures runs a couple of tour shows per week and a bigger event every three or four weeks.

After two years in the business and on the verge to become a medium company, NeoTokyo is ready to kick-off 2022 even better. One of the hottest stars in the company is NeoTokyo Universal Champion Shiori Jippensha who, as others, works in NeoTokyo and 5SSW on handshake deals. Jippensha has been champ for almost 350 days. Some of her best contenders are another former 5SSW World champ Megumi Nakajima, judo black belt Morgan Stryker, the young Daredevil Fujiko Mushashibo, the “Princess” Yukiko Matsumara, Miwako Katsukawa and Sae Akutagawa. Jippensha won the title by defeating former champ, Stryker, in January 2021 and has been on a hot streak of title defences ever since, surviving to multiple threats.

NeoTokyo is building a solid tag team division, which is called Tandem. As now, premiere tag teams Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose and Maki Yoshifumi & Yu Hashimoto are elevating the division, trading NeoTokyo Tandem Titles. A must-watch tandem for the future is the one formed by BFFs Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso, known as HEARTS Of GLORY, that seems destined to do great things. Currently, the titles are on the waists of Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus, two veterans who won the title in the last event of 2021.

NeoTokyo holds two tournaments every year. The J-Climax: a 16-joshi round robin tournament divided in two groups, with the winners of their respective groups that collide in the final at NeoTokyo J-Climax Event. The winner is awarded with a golden trophy and usually a title shot at the Universal Title. The first winner was Ai Takami, who seemed destined to become an icon in the company but moved out after one year for money problems. The second winner was Fujiko Mushashibo, who was the runner up the previous year. The Future Cup: a single-elimination tournament between NeoTokyo’s future stars, with the winner getting a chance at NeoTokyo Futureshock Title. The first two winners were Emiko Miyoshi and Nami Genda.

With a great focus on working on hot prospects and make them joshi stars, the company has multiple interesting youngsters. The brightest jewel is NeoTokyo Futureshock Champ, Ashley Keith, niece of the legendary Sam Keith, the only one to pin Shiori Jippensha. But the list goes on, with Emiko Miyoshi, an amazing and very marketable babyface; Rika Tsujimura, first NeoTokyo Futureshock champ, now under the guide of Hashimoto and Yoshifumi; Cora Black, a puro-inspired bruiser from Kilmarnock.

NeoTokyo has worked well even on relationships, agreeing on talent trading with QAW, ACPW and newest CWWF, apart from agreeing on a two-way deal with EWA to accept workers in excursions.

AKUMA | 悪魔

AKUMA is a heelish faction led by the daredevil Fujiko Mushashibo. Quite young and reckless, the group loves violence and chaos.

Skuld and Naoko Hayashida regularly fight in tandem as N.O.S., while Kichi Mochizuki regularly teams up with Fujiko Mushashibo. Also Mizucore, the k-pop star, and Spider Isako worked together as a unit multiple times.

COSMIC KEYS | コズミック・キー

Cosmic Keys form a group of babyfaces that haven't a real leader, although former Universal Champ, Morgan Stryker is probably the most adapt to that role. The faction is stacked with established tandems, with Akari Kawashima and HEART Koiso forming HEARTS Of GLORY, Chitose Ariwara teaming up with Lady Lotus, and with the SUPREME StrykerZ tandem formed by Morgan Stryker and SUPREME Yoshida.

MEGUMI-GUN |メグミガン

With a self-explanatory name, Megumi-gun (or Megumi's Army) is a babyface faction led by joshi star Megumi Nakajima. The other members are her proteges here in NeoTokyo. The popular Yukiko Matsumara usually teams up with Himari Miwa, as they form the tandem known as Warrior Princesses.

NEO GAIJIN | ネオガイジン

This group formed only by foreigners, was initially formed under the guide of 3-time MMA Champ Chris Amerson, who then left NeoTokyo to join USPW. After that, Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose quite took the lead of the faction. Another tandem in this group is the one formed by two wrestlers in excursion, Honey Badger and Felicia Luck.

Nova Blade is a really tough group, formed by friends Sae Akutagawa and Ashley Keith, alongside Miwako Katsukawa. The faction has been joined by two wrestlers in excursion from ACPW, Erin Grey and Katya Kornishkova, a tandem known as Iron Curtain.

Miwako Katsukawa speaks for her team, claiming that they’re focused on winning this match. After that, Miwako Katsukawa seems focused on the J-Climax Tournament. For AKUMA, Kichi Mochizuki isn’t in the mood to answer questions and act very childish, mocking the journalists in attendance and unleashing some chaos. </p><p> </p><p>

The american, who already worked in QAW as their World champ, just signed a handshake deal with NeoTokyo and already has a shot at most important belt in NeoTokyo. The reason why the owner Saeko Hiroyuki makes this match is pretty obvious: a clash between two of the best women in the business today to kickoff the new year could deliver a great match and can also give NeoTokyo some spotlight in the US. Fujiko Mushashibo vs Sae Akutagawa

If the story is going to be can Fujiko repeat then this is a must win to start the momentum running. Whether she does repeat or no...well Sae will be all the more motivated if she doesn't win this one.

Katsukawa, Grey, Kornishkova (Nova Blade) vs Mochizuki, Hayashida, Hosaka (AKUMA)

Anyone that mocks journalists is good with me ;) (More seriously this is probably bias on my part but in Japan saves I tend to book heel stables relatively strong as the ones to beat)

NeoTokyo Futureshock Title: Ashley Keith © vs “The Ice Queen” Amy Rhodes

Ashley Keith is one of my favourite characters in any database, default, women's revolution, thunderverse, whatever. However if this will be important towards Rhodes staying and given I feel a title change on the first card of the year is a possibility, I have to go with the Ice Queen.

Stryker, Kawashima, HEART Koiso (Cosmic Keys) vs Megumi, Matsumara, Miwa (Megumi-gun)

Having bet against one character I like, on no other real reason as to why one team or the other should win I am going with some of the others I like in this database.

NeoTokyo Tandem Title: Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus © vs Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose (Lilly & Rose)

Again no real rime or reason, too early to make informed guesses, I don't see multiple titles changing hands is all.

NeoTokyo Universal Title: Shiori Jippensha © vs Danielle Sweetheart

Timelimit draw: Shiori is not losing this but if they want eyes on the fed from abroad, booking America's Sweetheart as strong as you can otherwise is not a bad idea and this would set up towards a rematch down the line.

Katsukawa, Grey, Kornishkova (Nova Blade) vs Mochizuki, Hayashida, Hosaka (AKUMA)

The opener of the night sees two heelish stables fight each other in three versus three action. Without their leader Fujiko Mushashibo, the youngsters of AKUMA try to win the bout, but eventually fall after almost 19 mins to a more experienced team. In terms of in-ring work, Miwako Katsukawa (78) is head and shoulders above everyone else, as she pins Naoko Hayashida after her Katsukawa Bomb. The purple-haired seems like a credible threat and a possible winner of the J-Climax Tournament. This match gets the show off to a strong start.

WINNERS: KATSUKAWA, GREY, KORNISHKOVA (NOVA BLADE)

Stryker, Kawashima, HEART Koiso (Cosmic Keys) vs Megumi, Matsumara, Miwa (Megumi-gun)

Another three vs three match, this time featuring Cosmic Keys and Megumi-gun. A respectful but intense bout between these two teams turns out to be the match of the night, as all six joshi deliver. Because of the high level, Himari Miwa (51) is the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else in-ring performance. Former universal Champ Morgan Stryker and the hot tandem of Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso get close to win the bout multiple times, but at the end Megumi Nakajima (87) closes the match after 20 mins as she pins Akari Kawashima with her Nakajima Straight Jacket. The fans in attendance cheer the two teams involved, as they shake each other’s hands.

Sorrow’s members Yu Hashimoto and Rika Tsujimura join the ring for few minutes, giving the fans a small break from tonight’s matches. The two joshi give a shoutout to their stable’s partner, Maki Yoshifumi, who is training for her upcoming MMA match. After that, Hashimoto and Tsujimura announce their presence in the J-Climax, claiming that the trophy will surely be in Sorrow’s hands at the end of the tournament.

Fujiko Mushashibo vs Sae Akutagawa

The first one versus one match of the event is between last year’s J-Climax finalists, the winner Fujiko Mushashibo and the runner-up Sae Akutagawa. The bout has superb wrestling, especially Fujiko Mushashibo (83) really has a great performance. The leader of AKUMA goes on the top rope and attempts her Moonsault, but Akutagawa moves away and Mushashibo lands pretty bad on the mat. This opens the door for Akutagawa’s counterattack as she close the match with her Northern Lights Bomb, pinning the opponent after 20 mins. Sae Akutagawa wins the match and avenges last year’s loss, gaining even more momentum while heading to the J-Climax.

WINNER: SAE AKUTAGAWA

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus © vs Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose (Lilly & Rose)

With the NeoTokyo Tandem title on the line, we witness a superb wrestling match between champs, Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus, and Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose. The Neo Gaijins fail to regain the belts, as Lady Lotus pinned Debbie Rose with a surprise cradle. Chitose Ariwara and Lady Lotus celebrate in the ring, holding the belts, while their opponents retrieve. With the J-Climax Tournament approaching, we’ll se if Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose will enter the brackets and which tandem will go on to challenge the champs.

NeoTokyo Futureshock Title

Ashley Keith © vs “The Ice Queen” Amy Rhodes

Amy Rhodes gives Ashley Keith a good fight, but eventually fall after 20 mins, as she taps out to the champ’s Proton Lock. Keith retains her NeoTokyo Futureshock title once again, makes this her tenth championship defence. “The Ice Queen” fails to win the title and will now probably return in Canada, to CWWF, as her loan to NeoTokyo seems over. As planned, the match brings the fan back down a little as we are ready for the main event.

NeoTokyo Universal Title

Shiori Jippensha © vs Danielle Sweetheart

The match doesn’t deliver quite as we could have expected, as Shiori Jippensha and Danielle Sweetheart just don’t click at all, and it showed in their performances. Still, with two solid workers like them, the bout had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. Shiori Jippensha retains the belt, by submitting Danielle Sweetheart in 25 mins with her Jippensha Leglock. Jippensha makes defence number twelve of the NeoTokyo Universal title.

Danielle Sweetheart leaves the ring and returns to the backstage, while Shiori Jippensha remains in the squared circle and celebrates her win … BUT WAIT A SECOND! SOMEONE BLINDSIDE JIPPENSHA! The champ falls on the mat as her assaulter continues the beatdown. We know damn well who the attacker is, we recognise her face, it’s “The Artifact” Ai Takami. The 1st NeoTokyo Universal Champ, who left the company one year ago, is back in NeoTokyo and makes her intentions clear. As the show is closing down, Ai Takami raises the primary belt.

A couple of interviews post show. The first involved Danielle Sweetheart who talks about her loss tonight. The American is upset, but still want to see the bright side as she is happy to be here in NeoTokyo and this was just the beginning. Neo Gaijin interrupt Danielle Sweetheart, apparently to give her props for her debut. Cora Black in particularly states that they are here to offer to Sweetheart a spot in their faction. Sweetheart gently refuses, claims that she has no interest in joining them. Cora Black, as the rest of Neo Gaijin, seems pretty irritated by that.

In what should have been Shiori Jippensha’s interview, Ai Takami arrives on the scene to launch another message, after the one she already sent in the ring. Artifact Takami, like she addresses herself now, is back in NeoTokyo with a precise goal in mind: regain the NeoTokyo Universal title. That being said, she issues a challenge to Shiori Jippensha for the belt at the J-Climax event in February. Will the champ accept it?

BREAKING NEWS:

NEW SIGNING IN NEO TOKYO

While the J-Climax tournament is running, NeoTokyo just signed Unstoppable Tai!

vmDDPmM.jpg

A week ago, Unstoppable Tai shockingly left 5SSW after a huge argument in the hours before a tour show. After that, the joshi quickly jumped ship and join NeoTokyo on a handshake deal, ready to continue her domination in the joshi scene. Tai seemed destined for a world title run in 5SSW in the near future so this breakup was pretty unexpected.

J-CLIMAX TOURNAMENT (2022)

The J-Climax is arrived! Starting in early January, it will last till the end of February.

The round-robin tournament has two groups, each one with 8 wrestlers.

Matches have a 20 mins-time limit, except for the final that has no time limit.

Wins give 2 points, draws give 1 point, losses give 0 point.

At the NeoTokyo J-Climax event, the winners of their respective groups fight for the trophy.

The joshi who comes out as winner of the J-Climax gains a title shot at the NeoTokyo Universal title.

GROUP A

RCdxCCh.jpgn1aWX9t.jpgdLHC6JE.jpgbsVfz3V.jpg

1jMaMd4.jpgCKUZref.jpgIwZwrAR.jpgvmMRkZk.jpg

Miwako Katsukawa finishes with 12 pts, gaining the access to the J-Climax final. Her only lost comes against Morgan Stryker, who finishes with 10 pts after one lost and two draws. Even Ashley Keith finishes with 10 pts, losing a tough match against Kate Lilly. Good performances from Kate Lilly herself, as she finishes with 9 pts, and Yu Hashimoto who finishes with 9 pts too. Also, Himari Miwa finishes with 4 pts. A pretty bad tournament for Yayoi Kurmochi who finishes with just 2 pts, winning only one bout. Dead last spot for Izzy Quick with 0 pts, as the wrestler in excursion who comes out as the loser in all the seven matches.

GROUP A WINNER: MIWAKO KATSUKAWA

GROUP B

oI9MDq2.jpgQZ6TL87.jpgKYoLIFr.jpgOjY6Cmf.jpg

P2dGRAT.jpgZcxGyGA.jpgBc2MtJ9.jpgFa11aaa.jpg

High scores in the Group B, as Megumi Nakajima finishes with 13 pts out of 14 and joins Miwako Katsukawa in the tournament final to crown the J-Climax winner. Last year winner Fujiko Mushashibo finishes with 12 pts, just a point below Megumi. Without losing a single match, Fujiko is probably quite upset about the draw with Emiko Miyoshi. Yukiko Matsumara finishes with 8 pts, a solid score, just like Sae Akutagawa who also finishes with 8 pts, losing to Mushashibo, Megumi and Matsumara herself. Emiko Miyoshi finishes with 5 pts and is probably not so happy about the result. Rika Tsujimura finishes with 4 pts, worse than her previous participations in the J-Climax. Nami Genda also finishes with 4 pts in a forgettable experience. The worst score is Debbie Rose’s one, who finishes with just 2 points. Single action is not the best context for Debbie, who should probably focus on the tandem division once again with Kate Lilly.

GROUP B WINNER: MEGUMI NAKAJIMA

J-Climax Tournament Final

Miwako Katsukawa vs Megumi Nakajima

The Press Conference opens with the two finalists of the J-Climax Tournament. Miwako Katsukawa, who won the Group A with 12 points, seems super confident about winning the next bout. Megumi Nakajima, coming from a Group B win with 13 points, reflects on the importance of this opportunity and gives credits to Katsukawa as a tough opponent. After their speaks, the two joshi go face-to-face for some photo shoots, where an angry Miwako Katsukawa whispers something not that nice into Megumi’s ear.

vmDDPmM.jpgIwZwrAR.jpg

Unstoppable Tai vs Yayoi Kurmochi

In Unstoppable Tai’s debut the owner of NeoTokyo, Saeko Hiroyuki, picks Yayoi Kurmochi as her first opponent. Kurmochi comes to this match after a poor performance in the J-Climax but seems pretty confident for this bout, saying that spoils Tai’s debut could give her a boost. Unstoppable Tai doesn’t talk that much and simply promises a dominant debut. Will Tai be really UNSTOPPABLE here in NeoTokyo?

R2Bx4tC.jpgXcnrQOT.jpg

Cora Black vs Danielle Sweetheart

This match basically born in the post-show’s interviews of NeoTokyo Updated 2022, where Cora Black and the rest of Neo Gaijin offered Danielle Sweetheart a spot in the faction but got refused. Cora Black states that she asked for this match to teach Sweetheart some respect! What an insult to refuses a spot in Neo Gaijin. Danielle Sweetheart laughs at Cora Black, saying that she didn’t want to hurt anybody’s feeling. Still, if Cora Black wants to fight, Sweetheart has no problem with it. At the J-Climax event, it will be her pleasure to kick her @ss and show everyone how Sweetheart alone is better than the entire Neo Gaijin.

P2dGRAT.jpgQZ6TL87.jpg

Emiko Miyoshi vs Fujiko Mushashibo

Fujiko Mushashibo failed to win the J-Climax for the second straight year, finishing second in her group. The score differential from the top is due to a draw with Emiko Miyoshi. Fujiko demanded this match to unleash her rage on Miyoshi, guilty on obstructing her. Emiko Miyoshi accepted the match and is now here in this Press Conference. Unfortunately, the interviews never starts as Fujiko Mushashibo attacks Emiko Miyoshi alongside her faction’s partners: Kichi Mochizuki, Satoko Hosako and Naoko Hayashida. Chaos on the stage, as multiple staff members have to stop the beatdown. The nonsense of Mushashibo’s accusation continues with this despicable act during a Press Conference, but Miyoshi has is chance to avenge herself at the upcoming event!

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus © vs Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso (HEARTS Of GLORY)

The NeoTokyo Tandem Title is on the line, in an internal bout between Cosmic Keys members. With the J-Climax going on, not many tandems were available so owner Saeko Hiroyuki took the opportunity to mix things up and made two allied tandem fight. Chitose Ariwara and Lady Lotus defend their belts, exciting by the upcoming match. The youngsters Akari Kawashima and HEART Koiso, known as HEART Of GLORY, are so hyped for this opportunity and say that challenge their friends for the golds is an honour. The two teams shake hands as they pose for some photos. It’s also confirmed that other stable’s member, Morgan Stryker, will be at ringside to watch her friends fight.

NeoTokyo Universal Title

Shiori Jippensha © vs Artifact Takami

In January, 1st NeoTokyo Universal Champ, Artifact Takami, returned to the company and attacked Shiori Jippensha, challenging her for the primary belt. The champ accepted the challenge and, in this interview, she talks about the vicious beatdown she suffered. Artifact Takami states that she attacked Jippensha just to make a statement and she’s doesn’t regret it. It’s just business and Takami is willing to do ANYTHING to win the Universal Title again. Jippensha and Takami go face-to-face in a really heated staredown.

The next match is coming from some bad blood during the J-Climax Tournament, inside the Group B. As already reported by sites, Yukiko Matsumara had to humble Sae Akutagawa who demanded more spotlights, remembering her that she lost to Matsumara herself during the J-Climax. The squabble cooled down in the locker room, but Sae Akutagawa was pissed and proposed this bout. Now seated at the Press Conference, Akutagawa claims that she’s gonna teach Matsumara some respect. The “Princess” Yukiko states that Akutagawa is gonna be the one to learn a lesson. During the photoshoot, Sae Akutagawa tries to punch Yukiko but staff members bring her out.

Futureshock Title Ladder: Ashley Keith © vs Cora Black vs Miyoshi, Fujiko, Nami Genda, Kurmochi - Fujiko is amazing and I love her. Miyoshi is also good, obviously so is Keith, but go Fujiko...Also love that Nami Ganda render. Where did you find it?

Sae Akutagawa vs Yukiko Matsumara The nicest woman in Joshi

Tandem Title: HEARTS Of GLORY © vs Lilly & Rose vs Iron Curtain vs Honey Badger & Felicia Luck - They're great, that's all

Morgan Stryker & Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus vs Unstoppable Tai & Sorrow - Shot in the dark, but I like Tai

Shiori Jippensha vs Miwako Katsukawa - The only time I bet against her is if the other person is Fuyuko Higa, and even then it's tough.

Universal Title: Artifact Takami © vs Megumi Nakajima - Ai Takami is my favourite worker in the Women's Revolution mod and she's a great worker. In my current R2G game where I'm not playing a women's fed she is the 5SSW champion and has been for a while. Go Takami!

NEO TOKYO NEON DYNASTY III

SATURDAY, WEEK 4, MARCH 2022 @ TOKYO, KANTO

ATTENDANCE: 2,948 PEOPLE

VIEWERS: 71,594

(Ok so, I kinda f’ up the Futureshock Title match, as my broadcaster put a veto on the ladder match, as it is too extreme.

So basically, I had to improvise something and I don’t mind the outcome).

Ashley Keith opens the show alongside a japanese middle aged woman, with some papers in her hand. The unknown lady explains in japanese what’s happening: Ashley Keith talked with Shogun Tv about their risky matches policy and convinced them to put a veto on this match. So it’s safe to say that the Ladder match ain’t gonna happened tonight!

Owner Saeko Hiroyuki appears next, pretty angry with her worker. Still, Saeko has to accept the TV’s will and cancel the Ladder Match … But the NeoTokyo Futureshock Title will be on the line, right here, right now, in a Six Way Match! And even if ladders can’t help retrieving the title, they still hurt if used …

With this hint, Saeko calls out the contenders at the title, who understand what the owner meant and start bringing different ladders to the ring, using them as foreign objects.

NeoTokyo Futureshock Title

Ashley Keith © vs Cora Black vs Emiko Miyoshi, Fujiko Mushashibo, Nami Genda, Yayoi Kurmochi

Initially Ashley Keith is targeted by all the other joshi, receiving a lot of attacks. The match then sees superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, lasting for 20 mins. In the final moment of the match, Yayoi Kurmochi goes on the top of a ladder inside the ring and does a STUNT BUMP, launching herself on Cora Black, Emi Miyoshi and Nami Genda outside the ring. Inside the squared circle, Ashley Keith fails the assault on Fujiko Mushashibo, who hits her with a Superkick. Mushashibo then climbs the ladder and hits another STUNT BUMP! MOONSAULT FROM THE LADDER! 1 … 2 … 3 !!! It’s over, Fujiko Mushashibo (85) pins champ Ashley Keith to win the NeoTokyo Universal Title.

WINNER AND NEW: FUJIKO MUSHASHIBO

RATING: 79

Sae Akutagawa vs Yukiko Matsumara

Another bout with superb wrestling, with Sae Akutagawa and Yukiko Matsumara who fight a really balanced match. The crowd goes hotter, as Sae Akutagawa builds her momentum and prepares to close the match, but in a second everything change, as Yukiko Matsumara hits her Matsumara Cradle to quickly pin the opponent after 22 mins. Yukiko Matsumara slides outside the ring, smiling for her win, as friend Himari Miwa comes out and raises her hand. Sae Akutagawa remains seated in the ring, furious for her loss.

WINNER: YUKIKO MATSUMARA

Morgan Stryker & Chitose Ariwara & Lady Lotus vs Unstoppable Tai & Sorrow

In this three vs three match, the main focus is set on the growing rivalry between Morgan Stryker and Unstoppable Tai, who fight each other in the ring for some minutes. Stryker herself (86) and Yu Hashimoto (83) deliver the best performances, in a bout that last 20 mins, when Unstoppable Tai pins former NeoTokyo Tandem champ Chitose Ariwara with the Tai Bomber. Yu Hashimoto and Rika Tsujimura offer an handshake to their partner, Unstoppable Tai, who accepts. Will Tai joins Sorrow’s stable? Will her collides with Morgan Stryker again in the near future?

WINNERS: UNSTOPPABLE TAI & SORROW

RATING: 65

Shiori Jippensha vs Miwako Katsukawa

Miwako Katsukawa goes for Shiori Jippensha’s head, willing to become the new top contender for the NeoTokyo Universal Champ. The bout is an absolute blast and tops any other match in NeoTokyo’s history, lasting a solid 23 mins. The end of the match sees Shiori Jippensha blocks Miwako Katsukawa’s leg, snapping it and putting the opponent on the mat, locking in her Jippensha Leglock. Miwako Katsukawa screaming in pain, forced to tap out. Big win for former NeoTokyo Universal Champ, Shiori Jippensha, who can now focus on the big belt again.

WINNER: SHIORI JIPPENSHA

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

HEARTS Of GLORY © vs Lilly & Rose vs Iron Curtain vs Honey Badger & Felicia Luck

In a bout that had great wrestling and decent reaction from the crowd, four tandems battle up in a Four Way Elimination match as the NeoTokyo Tandem Title is on the line. First title match for Honey Badger & Felicia Luck and for the Iron Curtain, Erin Grey & Katya Kornishkova, while Lilly & Rose try to become 3-time Tandem champs. The first to go are Honey Badger and Felicia Luck, as Luck is pinned by Kate Lilly. Debbie Rose then pins Erin Grey to eliminate the Iron Curtain. The last decisive fall sees Lilly & Rose losing to Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso after 20 mins. Great performance by Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose, but at the end the young champs, HEARTS Of GLORY retain the titles.

WINNERS AND STILL : AKARI KAWASHIMA & HEART KOISO (HEARTS OF GLORY)

RATING: 58

NeoTokyo Universal Title

Artifact Takami © vs Megumi Nakajima

And we’re finally heading to the main event, as the NeoTokyo Universal Title. Artifact Takami makes her first title defence, while Megumi Nakajima is coming from a J-Climax victory. An incredibly balanced bout sees some near falls, but none of the workers wants to quit. After 24 mins, the champ goes for her finisher, but Nakajima reverses it and, with a great counter, ends up belly-to-back with Takami: NAKAJIMA STRAIGHT JACKET! Like that, quick like a thunder, Megumi Nakajima puts Artifact Takami on the mat and pins her: 1! … 2! … 3!!! Megumi Nakajima ends Takami’s short reign, winning the NeoTokyo Universal Title after a great performance.

WINNER AND NEW: MEGUMI NAKAJIMA

RATING: 82

OVERALL RATING: 81

Really happy to finally go 80+ in overall rating after a great show!

Again, made a mistake with the risky match, but I will learn from that and pick better broadcasters.

Refreshing to see a joshi diary that isn't STARDOM or 5SSW, plus I do love the Women's Revolution mod and Neo Tokyo. Tend to give them a more retrofuturistic cyberpunk aesthetic myself, but as long as this deviates from the standard kawaii presentation for anime nerds, I'm fine with it.

P.S. Totally stealing that Shogun TV logo

Keith, Akutagawa, Miwako (Nova-Blade) vs Jippensha, Miyoshi, Nami Genda (HALO)

Awkward moments during a tour show, when Miwako Katsukawa confronted herself with stable’s partners, Ashley Keith and Sae Akutagawa. Apparently, all three joshi wanted to fight former Universal champ Shiori Jippensha to make a statement, and the fact that Nova Blade doesn’t have a leader created a stalemate. Shiori Jippensha proposed a three versus three match for Disruption Protocol to kick all their butts and now, seated here during the interviews, she reconfirms her intentions alongside friends Nami Genda and Emiko Miyoshi. Will Nova Blade internal tensions disappear for this upcoming bout?

Unstoppable Tai vs Morgan Stryker

At Neon Dynasty III, Unstoppable Tai joined Sorrow and defeat Morgan Stryker, Chitose Ariwara, Lady Lotus in a three versus three. However, the main focus of the match was the rising rivalry between Morgan Stryker and Tai’s herself, so the owner Saeko Hiroyuki made this match official. Unstoppable Tai arrives to the Press Conference and simply states that she will put her rival on the mat with her Tai Bomber. Black-belt Morgan Stryker knows how difficult this challenge will be, but she’s confident that she will find a way to win the bout. Intense staredown follows, as photos are taken.

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso (HEARTS Of GLORY) © vs Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose

At the last event the NeoTokyo Tandem Title was on the line in a four way elimination match, with Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose who pretty dominated the match and eliminating the first two tandem, but eventually fell after a quick pin by HEART Koiso who scored the win for her team. Now, Lilly & Rose have another well deserved title shot, this time in a classic tandem match, and they are sure to win the match to become 3-time Tandem champs. Akari Kawashima and HEART Koiso seem pretty chilled and confident in their title defence, looking forward to fight a great team like the one formed by Lilly & Rose.

Black, Honey, Luck (Neo Gaijin) vs Matsumara, Miwa, Kurmochi (Megumi-gun)

The opener is a three versus three between Neo Gaijin and Megumi-gun, who gets the show off to a great start and makes the crowd hotter. The match lasts almost 20 mins and sees Megumi-gun comes out as the winning faction after a Matsumara Cradle from the “Princess” Yukiko Matsumara to Honey Badger. This win probably raises Warrior Princesses opportunity of having a title shot for the NeoTokyo Tandem Title and maybe Yayoi Kurmochi’s chance of fighting again for the NeoTokyo Futureshock Title. However, in the pre-show Hoshiko Tagawa already won a battle royal to gain a match for the Futureshock gold so Kurmochi isn't the first in line.

Keith, Akutagawa, Miwako (Nova-Blade) vs Jippensha, Miyoshi, Nami Genda (HALO)

Two other factions collide here at Disruption Protocol, as HALO group fights against Nova Blade, which has internal tensions from the past weeks. Shiori Jippensha (86) delivers another great performance, carrying her team, while Nami Genda and Emiko Miyoshi show some sparks but suffer the majority of Nova Blade’s attacks. In a moment of potential miscommunication with her partners, Sae Akutagawa solves the tricky situation and steals the tag from Miwako Katsukawa, delivering her Northern Lights Bomb to Nami Genda to win the match after 20 mins. Miwako Katsukawa and Sae Akutagawa have their moment in the ring, chatting and explaining themselves about the last moments of the match. Still, the tensions cool down as Ashley Keith mediate between them alongside Erin Grey and Katya Kornishkova, the other members of Nova Blade.

Fujiko Mushashibo © vs Danielle Sweetheart

The Futureshock Title is on the line, while AKUMA’s member Naoko Hayashida, Skuld and Kichi Mochizuki witness the match at ringside, ready to backup her leader Fujiko Mushashibo. This bout had superb wrestling and a good engagement from the crowd, as Fujiko Mushashibo and Danielle Sweetheart seems to have a great chemistry that lifted the match. The “Queen of Hearts” has a couple of opportunity to really end the match, but the “Daredevil” Fujiko Mushashibo does a great job by kicking out with some near falls. After 20 mins, Mushashibo closes the match with her stupendous Moonsault.

Unstoppable Tai vs Morgan Stryker

The rivalry between Morgan Stryker and Unstoppable Tai brings us to this first one versus one between these two, who deliver a good match with superb wrestling. Unstoppable Tai seems close to win the bout, as she lifts her opponent to finish her: TAI BOMBER! But wait a minute, Morgan Stryker locks Tai in a Triangle Choke as soon as she hit the mat with her back, showing off great resistance. Unstoppable Tai doesn’t expect this outcome and appears in shock, trying in vain to escape the hold … UNTIL SHE TAPS! Tai taps out to Morgan Stryker’s submission, in a great ending.

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso (HEARTS Of GLORY) © vs Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose

Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose have an excellent start, controlling the pace of the match, really focused on winning the NeoTokyo Tandem title for the 3rd time. But Akari Kawashima and HEART Koiso won’t quit, suffering a lot of shots without falling. The match then goes on and on, reaching a great level of heat from the crowd thanks to four great performances from the wrestlers. Lilly & Rose eventually fall, as Akari Kawashima pins Debbie Rose after 23 mins with her Kawashima Driver 2020, while HEART Koiso blocks Kate Lilly interference. HEARTS Of GLORY get the most important win of their short career, showing the entire joshi world how tough they are, able to beat one of the best tandem in the industry with a decisive win.

NeoTokyo Universal Title

Megumi Nakajima © vs Artifact Takami

In a Universal Title rematch, Megumi Nakajima and Artifact Takami go one versus one in a superb wrestling match with good heat. Deja-vu from last time, as Takami goes for her finisher, but Nakajima reverses it and tries to connect the Nakajima Straight Jacket. Great agility from Takami who flips mid-air and lands on her feet, hitting Nakajima with a vicious Big Boot. As we enter the 25th minute of the bout, Artifact Takami puts her opponent in position for her Takami Bomb, but Nakajima surprises her by sneaking on her back and pinning her: 1! … 2! … Takami kicks out, but Nakajima quickly locks her arms and lifts her: NAKAJIMA STRAIGHT JACKET! Megumi Nakajima hits her finisher and pins Artifact Takami to retain the NeoTokyo Universal.

WINNER AND STILL: MEGUMI NAKAJIMA

RATING: 82

OVERALL RATING: 83

Really happy with the show, improving the record as best overall rating for an event with a solid 83.

Especially, it’s nice to see how the whole card has been solid and how the roster is developing.
