New York City… where the chaos continues…

The night of the show and the backstage area was buzzing with anticipation and happiness. Charlie Corner had brought in drinks for everyone, while Prime Time had arranged a video game tournament, which he was winning. It was the holiday season and everyone was feeling themselves. I was too. We had a number of high-profile feuds bubbling away and I was interested in the year end awards as we might actually have a few people in them.

Life was good.

EEE Supershow: Christmas Cage Chaos
Sunday, Week 4, December 2024
Greenwalt Dome, New York City, New York
Attendance: 47,199

TAG TEAM MATCH: The Fantastic Express vs. The Stone Foundation
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Stone Foundation defeated The Fantastic Express in 10:12 when Christopher Stone pinned Rafe Sashay with a handful of tights.
Rating: 72

Notes: Big win for the young team with the high upside. It felt odd to have The Fantastics so far removed from the tag team title scene, but I was attempting my first piece of long-term story-telling and it wasn’t their time just yet. But it would be, very soon. Rafe had been a little unhappy with the booking, but Christopher cracked his knuckles and all of a sudden everything was alright. I didn’t approve of that behaviour normally, but this was a big win for our future superstar team.

SINGLES MATCH: Valiant vs. The Masked Mauler
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Valiant defeated The Masked Mauler in 8:13 by pinfall with a V-Split.
Rating: 58

Notes: Clean win in a terribly disappointing matchup. Mauler was normally good for at least a good match, but perhaps months of him not really being involved in anything had finally crashed his stock. It might be time to reassess and give him some momentum again so that he can go back to relying on him once again. Valiant remains the undisputed and uncrowned top dog of the promotion. Why was I dragging my feet in putting him in the main event?

PICK YOUR POISON TAG TEAM MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde & Bradley Blaze vs. Pepper Pelton & Monty Trescarde
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Prime Time Jack Pryde and Bradley Blaze defeated Pepper Pelton and Monty Trescarde in 10:04 when Bradley Blaze pinned Monty Trescarde with a Dallas Drop.
Rating: 68

Notes: Oof! This was a gamble of a match-up and that gamble sort of worked, but sort of didn’t. The match was fine, but I was secretly hoping for a breakout performance from Blaze which never came. Plus side though, he finally gets a big win on a big stage. Good for him. This match of course allows Prime Time some revenge, but not nearly enough.

SINGLES MATCH: George Trapesi vs. Cameron Vessey
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Cameron Vessey defeated George Trapesi in 9:49 by pinfall with a Vessey Driver II.
Rating: 81

Notes: Fantastic match-up between these two ends with a clean win for The Man. He’s taken the company by storm and in defeating Trapesi, he’s immediately established himself as a top level star. Trapesi, always the honoruable man takes the loss on the chin with no complaints and delivers an incredible match to boot. Knowing Trapesi, this wasn’t the last match-up between them. But it’s a great start.

SINGLES MATCH: Angry Gilmore vs. Dreadnought
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Dreadnought defeated Angry Gilmore in 5:55 by pinfall with a Dread Bomb.
Rating: 66

Notes: Squash City as Angry Gilmore is looking less and less like a functioning wrestler at this stage. Dreadnought was booked so dominantly and such a killer that this would’ve boosted his popularity substantially.

EEE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The VCC vs. The Twin Powers (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The VCC defeated The Twin Powers in 9:57 when JP Barnham submitted Bulldozer Brandon Smith with a Golden Scissors. The VCC win the EEE World Tag Team.
Rating: 72

Notes: And there it is. The VCC after years of fighting for a title shot and overcoming a change in management and having to be the forgotten fourth team alongside Fantastics, Biggins Boys and Cross River Connection have finally ascended to the top of their craft. Good match again as Bulldozer and Harper did the right thing and put them over strong. The image of Bryan Vessey hugging them both at the end was a sweet touch too.

EEE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: The Eagle vs. Honest Frank Jr (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Honest Frank Jr defeated The Eagle in 10:02 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. Honest Frank Jr makes defence number five of the EEE Intercontinental.
Rating: 73

Notes: There are no depths Frank Jr won’t plumb to retain the title he’s become so attached to. The Eagle gave a great account of himself, but Frank Jr just clearly wanted it more. He heads into 2025 at the top of his game, with a title, a massive bodyguard and the world at his feet.

TAG TEAM MATCH: Charlie Corner & Fro Sure vs. Trent Shaffer & Riley McManus
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Charlie Corner and Fro Sure defeated Riley McManus and Trent Shaffer in 21:47 when Fro Sure pinned Trent Shaffer with a Sure Thing.
Rating: 76

Notes: This was an amazing match and when you consider that Fro Sure & Corner had zero chemistry as a team, it boggles the mind what they could’ve achieved. I think at this stage it’s fair to say that these four making up our upper midcard were some of the best upper midcarders in any promotion in the States right now. Each of them could be dropped into a main event with almost no notice and deliver in spades. And it being Christmas, we had a happy ending.

iBQloHy.jpg
EEE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Y6ssmXZ.jpg8UKrnYt.jpgwQkukIZ.jpg

Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews vs. Davis Wayne Newton (c)
In an exceptional match, Aaron Andrews defeated Davis Wayne Newton in a Cage match in 23:44 by pinfall with a Flying Body Press. Aaron Andrews wins the EEE World Heavyweight.
Rating: 83

Notes: Nothing to the happy ending here as DWN and The Ace have another bite of the cherry and boy was it better than before. The Cage helped as did the result. But having won the Empire Royale, it’s taken Aaron Andrews another nine months to get his hands on the title. Some might argue that I accidentally gave the wrong instructions to the workers before the match started, but I will deny this to my dying day. Davis Wayne Newton was crushed by the defeat, but he’ll bounce back in no time. But for this evening, he’s eaten humble pie as The Ace is trusted with the keys to the Kingdom… sort of.

Finally, a special note to Scottie for getting over 50% this time. Here's to 2025... a troublesome year for EEE.

Champions

Y6ssmXZ.jpg
Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews
iBQloHy.jpg
EEE World Heavyweight Champion
Entrance Music: DEVIL by Shinedown
The former top star, or Ace, from Total Championship Wrestling, Aaron Andrews is arguably one of the top stars in the world of professional wrestling. That was until he found himself embroiled in a criminal smuggling cartel’s attempt to bring in illegal drugs to the US. Having been fired from TCW, despite being proven ‘Not Guilty’ by a group of his peers, Andrews found himself out of wrestling for the first time in a decade. That was until the powers that be at Empire Elite Entertainment signed him up. In his first year with the company he’s already won the inaugural Empire Royale, headlined Starclash I and at Christmas Cage Chaos he defeated Davis Wayne Newton to claim his first EEE World Heavyweight Title.

BIQOlLR.jpg
Honest Frank Jr
VTekg1g.jpg
EEE Intercontinental Champion
Entrance Music: Perfect Strangers by Deep Purple
Legacy is a key facet of modern professional wrestling and in Honest Frank Jr, Empire Elite Entertainment have one of the most impressive and talented second-generation superstars on the planet. The son of legendary New York mainstay Honest Frank, Jr has proven to be every bit as charismatic as his dad, but with some incredibly sound in-ring fundamentals and impressive power. Having had the ‘honour’ of being originally managed by his dad, he soon took umbrage with his lack of immediate success and destroyed his father’s stable of workers to branch out alone. Success finally came when he defeated Charlie Corner to win the EEE Intercontinental Title with help from his bodyguard Dreadnought.

E8o7hSz.jpgvjPskbH.jpg
The VCC
JP Barnham & Ray Cavalero
S7oUIMU.jpgS7oUIMU.jpg
EEE World Tag Team Champions
Entrance Music: Running by Onlap
The leg-twisting, bone-crunching, arm-breaking duo known as The VCC are one of the premier teams in professional wrestling. Ray Cavalero and JP Barnham don’t need to talk, they let their actions speak for them. Previously a part of the underground combat club designed by Larry Vessey and including international superstar Magnum Kobe. The team have now branched out under the management of Bryan Vessey to find willing victims whom they can inflict pain and punishment upon. They achieved their greatest success at Christmas Cage Chaos 2024 when they defeated The Twin Powers to claim the EEE World Tag Team Titles.

Roster

wQkukIZ.jpg
Davis Wayne Newton
Entrance Music: Dvorak Symphony No. 9
The Canadian Hero from… Toronto… Ontario… Canada… is one of the most gifted professional wrestlers of the era. Combining exceptional technical, brawling and high-flying talents with a buzzing and arrogant persona; Davis Wayne Newton (DWN to most) had a break-out year in 2024, having gone coast-to-coast in the first ever Empire Royale, following that with claiming the vacant EEE Intercontinental Title from an injured Danny Hagman and finally, with the help of The Stone Foundation, winning the EEE World Heavyweight Title from George Trapesi. It seems that whenever he dains to leave his own personal balcony seat at the Empire Ballroom; he tends to win, using absolutely every tool in his arsenal to achieve success.

zJeThcw.jpg
Valiant
Entrance Music: Living in America by James Brown
The All-American Hero, with his fantastic physique and long blonde hair is one of the most recognisable performers in all of professional wrestler. Having been signed to a high-value, long-term contract with Empire Elite Entertainment he has made a splash including a number of main event appearances and just generally being the hero he is to a number of tag team partners. He may be older and a little slower than in his prime, but he still has it where it counts… in his heart. Nothing is beyond Valiant as the world might soon discover.

D0MqH2n.jpg
Cameron Vessey
Entrance Music: Hysteria by Muse
The son of EEE owner Larry Vessey, ‘The Man’ Cameron Vessey burst into the company having been hired by Billy ‘The Brain’ Keelan in a gang war against his uncle Bryan Vessey’s group. A consummate professional fighter his his dad’s smarts, his uncle’s ability and raw charisma; Cameron is arguably one of the top professional wrestler’s in the world. Since arriving he remains undefeated in singles matches and has made mincemeat out of former World Heavyweight Champion George Trapesi. While a member of The Keelan Family, Cameron makes sure to distance himself from the group at times as he’s more than capable of dealing with opponents without help.

v2zRDv5.jpg
George Trapesi
Entrance Music: Sirius by Alan Parsons Project
The breakout star of the hugely successful LA Stars tag team, George Trapesi is a young performer from California who travelled across country to New York City to make a name for himself. Originally most famous as LA Star #1, he lost his mask in a match to ‘The Georgia Bulldog’ Riley McManus. ‘The Star’ George Trapesi was the premier talent in Empire Elite Entertainment during it’s inception and has the honour of being the EEE World Heavyweight Champion when the company began. Since losing the title, Trapesi ditched his valet Cheerleader Nicki and began training with Bryan Vessey as a way to sharpen his skills and to climb back to the top of the mountain.

zDtpfzU.jpg
Fro Sure
Entrance Music: You Sure by Fro-Zen Funk and the Rainbow Collective
New York most fabulous and funk-a-delic performer; Fro Sure is a supremely entertaining and charismatic performer whose talent on the mic is equally matched by his talent in the ring. Acting as the de facto hero-in-waiting, he must be in line for another amazing feud to follow on from the success of his ones with Perfect Pepper Pelton and latterly with Thom ‘One Man Army’ Barrowman, who he had the honour of sending into retirement.

CFrKEUe.jpg
Charlie Corner
Entrance Music: California Love by Tupac
California Cool Charlie Corner is one of the most laid back dudes in professional wrestling. Naturally likeable with a mixture of surfer dude and rock star looks, Corner is a consistently popular performer in professional wrestling. After a slight dip a year ago, he’s arguably had the best 2024 of any wrestler on the roster. He turned two big-time wins into a substantial EEE Intercontinental Title run before losing it to Honest Frank Jr. He now founds himself lurking around the outskirts of the main event proper and it’ll be interesting to see if he can continue his rise up the mountain.

Og26VqR.jpg
Prime Time Jack Pryde
Entrance Music: Sabotage by The Beastie Boys
It’s been a tumultuous year for Prime Time Jack Pryde. Having started as one half of the inaugural World Tag Team champions; he was then mercilessly turned on by his long-time partner Pepper Pelton and has spent the majority of the rest of the year feuding with him. Desperate to enact his revenge, he may already have done it as his popularity surges. Quickly establishing himself as an at least equally good singles performer as he was tag team wrestler, the sky really is the limit for Prime Time, if he can move on from The Perfect One.

i6W0twm.jpg
‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton
Entrance Music: Exodus Theme by Ernest Gold
Much like his former partner Prime Time Jack Pryde; the self-proclaimed ‘Perfect One’ began as a tag team specialist before branching out into singles competition following his brutal betrayal of his former tag partner and best friend. Adopting a far more vicious, arrogant persona, Pepper has been on the rampage in the midcard of Empire Elite Entertainment ever since. The fact he’s being dogged by Prime Time in everything he does has made it difficult for him to get out from under the shadow of Cross River Connection’s legacy. But he has all the tools available to become a massive star. Now he just needs to put them all together.

Hg5o5es.jpg
Trent Shaffer
Entrance Music: Something for You by Highway Saints
‘The Talent’ Trent Shaffer is one of the top singles stars in the company, having made a splash previously in New York by winning the Empire Heavyweight on his second night, he headlined the initial big show in Empire Elite Entertainment against then World Champion George Trapesi. The match between the two remains the best in the company’s history and has been dubbed; The Battle of New York. Since then he has engaged in a number of high-profile feuds, usually alongside he long-time rival and partner ‘The Georgia Bulldog’ Riley McManus.

bBuKkOf.jpg
‘The Georgia Bulldog’ Riley McManus
Entrance Music: Southern Flavor by Versatyle tha Wildchyld
Multiple time World Heavyweight Champion and one of the stars of EEE, ‘The Georgia Bulldog’ Riley McManus has known success all through his life. From high school, to Georgia University as a top collegiate wrestler, his toughness and in-ring skill can’t be overstated. A mainstay of New York, his career really took off when he engaged in a blood feud with veteran Denny King which caused him to snap and helped create the unbearable character he is today. After a couple of World Title reigns he can now be find squabbling with and teaming with Trent Shaffer as one of the made men of Empire Elite Entertainment. But he remains fixated on getting back in the World Title scene.

vJ2GYBp.jpgr7FSDFS.jpg
The Twin Powers
Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Andrew Harper
Entrance Music: Slaves and Bulldozers by Soundgarden
Brandon Smith is truly the Bulldozer of Empire Elite Entertainment. Big in strength and stature, he is a relentless battler with clubbing blows and big power moves. Anyone tackling this walking monster has to bring their best game or risk being finished by the lethal Backdrop Driver. So when this behemoth was teamed with ‘The Bully Enforcer’ Andrew Harper under the management of Billy Keelan, the world had no choice but to stand up and take notice. Since their formation they have run roughshod over a number of established teams and have laid claim to the World Tag Team titles twice already.

aiqygHA.jpg5LaI8Zz.jpg
The Fantastic Express
Rafe Sashay & Zippy Deverell
Entrance Music: Industry Baby by Lil Nas X
The Men, the Myths, the Legends. The Fantastic Express are one of the premier tag teams in professional wrestling. Having struck gold with their fast-paced, hard-hitting style; Rafe ‘The Style’ Sashay and Zippy ‘The Lip’ Deverell have formed such an effective team that tag gold is rarely far from their grasp. Their long-running feuds with the Cross River Connection and The Biggins Boys were finally closed after Starclash and the talented duo haven’t yet done enough to lay claim to the World Tag Team Titles. But it is, no doubt, only a matter of time before they are in the conversation once again.

L1hgYor.jpgoWWfILP.jpg
The Stone Foundation
Christopher Stone & Michael Stone
Entrance Music: Dvorak Symphony No. 9
Introduced to the world of Empire Elite Entertainment by the ‘Canadian Hero’ Davis Wayne Newton, The Stone Foundation (Christopher and Michael) made an immediate impact helping DWN to win the EEE World Heavyweight Title from ‘The Star’ George Trapesi. Since then, as part of Canada’s Finest, they have begun working their way through the midcard of the tag team ranks. The sons fo Jeremy and Duane have teamed together and were signed to long-term contracts by Larry Vessey to avoid them signing with CWA. Arguably on par with the other tag teams in EEE already and both being so young; The Stone Fonudation could become a foundation for the company going forward.

28uAEtb.jpgo5fZsoZ.jpg
The Biggins Boys
Bart Biggins & Brett Biggins
Entrance Music: Rock and Roll is King by ELO
The legendary brother tag team with a history of success wherever they go. The Biggins Boys (formerly Quadruple B) are multi-time tag team champions in a number of promotions who have been locked into a long-running feud with The Fantastic Express and the Cross River Connection. While it seems Cross River Connection have taken the overall win and become the inaugural Empire Elite Entertainment World Tag Team Champions, the Biggins Boys managed to get their hands on the gold following a successful run in the Stomper Memorial Cup. Having been promptly destroyed by The Twin Powers since then, they have seen their star fall as the injuries and exhaustions of old age catch-up with them.

a1WD8tf.jpg5X4dkCY.jpg
Dreadnought & Big Jon Walker
Entrance Music: Gojira tai Mosura (Remix)
Honest Frank Jr collects bodyguards like Angry Gilmore collects enemies. Initially Honest Frank Jr had Big Jon before firing him and replacing him with ‘The Monster’ Dreadnought. He then re-hired Big Jon and now the two of them regularly team together, while maintaining their singles work too. Both massive and strong, they have been on something of a path of destruction recently. Notably Dreadnought whose wins are becoming faster and more impressive each month. But while they work under the auspices of the reigning EEE Intercontinental Champion, they will always be protectors first; victors second.

CG2r1kM.jpg
Angry Gilmore
Entrance Music: Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit
The middle-aged-and-crazy veteran of Empire Elite Entertainment; Angry Gilmore is a former World Heavyweight champion who is tougher than a waffle house steak. Blending his natural charisma with an impressive in-ring style, the aging star has begun to show signs that his in-ring career may be winding down. But he’s not finished yet because there’s still young wrestlers to beat within an inch of their lives and plenty of things to get angry about.

quHpp42.jpg
Monty Trescarde
Entrance Music: Taxman by The Beatles
Accountants are known for their love of money. And the only people who love it more are accountants who’ve become tax men. That’s who Monty Trescarde is. A former NYCW star who moved on to become one half of the popular team Power and Money. He has now returned to the New York area with a view to clamping down on anyone he considers a tax cheat or a money thief. To help him in his goal, he initially enlisted the expensive-but-worth-it management skills of Billy ‘The Brain’ Keelan, perhaps the only man who cares more about money than Trescarde. But a falling out after Trescarde lost an important match meant Trescarde went solo and his career has suffered as a result.

JnVMyoM.jpg
The Eagle
Entrance Music: Iron Man by AC/DC
One Tough SOB. That’s the only way to describe the face-painted warrior known as The Eagle. From low-key beginnings as the masked Freedom Eagle; one half of Brooklyn’s Finest. Eagle saw his then-partner depart for pastures new and began a solo career. After some moderate success he delved back into the tag team ranks; first with Animal Harker and then with The Juggernaut as one half of the Powers of Pain. Again his success stalled and now is seemingly content as a solid midcarder who wins some and loses some, but maintains his level of work.

Jse0WYq.jpg
The Masked Mauler
Entrance Music: None
There has been a Masked Mauler creeping around the New York scene for approximately sixty years and this latest incarnation follows a number of the now well-known conventions. He wears a plain black mask. He has no entrance music. He performs basic moves. He speaks in gibberish half-phrases and declarations and uses the Iron Claw (!?!) as his finisher. A long-time title holder with clean wins over the likes of Davis Wayne Newton and Angry Gilmore, there’s unplumbed depths to the Mauler’s career which could be reached with the right programme against the right competitor.

QWJT3XQ.jpg
Spike Sylvain
Entrance Music: Hey Ho! By The Ramones
The former New York Doll is a veteran New York City performer. One of the most visually recognisable workers in North America, he has dyed red hair and is covered in tattoos like any true punk would be. While his most successful days are likely behind him, his talent and in-ring basics mean that he’s a fantastic and popular backstage addition to any roster.

LOvZQL1.jpg
‘The Stud’ Phil Anders
Entrance Music: Scars by Ghosts of August
Hailing from the mean fields of Nebraska, ‘The Stud’ Phil Anders is a big, bruising rookie whose been finding his feet in the big city. Packed with upside and a mean attitude, there’s plenty for him to achieve in the right environment. Being one of the original members of the Empire Elite Entertainment roster has not given him the bump he needs to achieve his goal of complete domination. And in fact timing caused his moment of a big push to stall and he never quite recovered. Acting as a low-level bully, he continues to work, but has yet to make an impact on any big shows.

New York City… where all that glitters is not gold, it’s a sturdy merchandising operation…

We made a quite incredible profit of $570,596 in December. While I looked at the finances I realised we’d accumulated a massive stock-pile of money. A war chest that would make any of our former COTT members blush. In total Larry and myself had managed to save a whopping $13.5m. I thought about all the top level stars I could sign to exorbitant salaries. If only they’d agree to come. It wasn’t that we were prestigious anymore (91%) or we didn’t have the momentum (87%) it was that weren’t USPW, SWF and (to a lesser extent) TCW. It was frustrating to me, because I knew that reinvestment was the only way to make a success of a business. Speaking of success, our merchandise was looking good for the month.

Monthly Merchandise:

1. Valiant - $200,198 (+$9,795)

2. Aaron Andrews - $172,627 (+$30,132)

3. Prime Time Jack Pryde - $101,792 (+$25,219)

4. Charlie Corner - $60,376 (+$1,496)

5. Fro Sure - $43,752 (+$1,972)

6. George Trapesi - $39,082 (+$412)

7. Davis Wayne Newton - $30,955 (+$4,906)

8. Zippy Deverell - $17,708 (+$804)

9. Rafe Sasay - $12,202 (+$875)

10. Emma Chase - $10,800 ($0)

Ahead of the next Supershow: New Year’s Revolution, I was summoned to a production meeting by Larry. It was, to my surprise, quite a heated one where plans for the New Year were discussed and poured over in incredible detail. Everyone seemed to have different ideas on where to go,; including me. While compromise was met, it was not all sunshine and roses and for the first time in year’s, I felt like the next few months may not go as well as the last. But I was happy to be proved wrong… if, I was proved wrong.

EEE All Star Wrestling #45
Friday, Week 1, January 2025
The Empire Ballroom, New York City, New York
Attendance: 11,361

[*]ANGLE: Here, comes, the Champ… Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews is out with the title in tow. He drinks in the cheers and then looks to the Executive Suite on the balcony. It’s empty and he allows himself a smile.
“Ladies and Gentlemen on New York City and to all the fans watching at home… we got him! It’s been a long road to get here. A year ago I thought my career was over because of stupid things I did. But then I found Empire Elite Entertainment and my life changed. It showed me that no matter how low you get, all it takes is one person… or an arena of people, to forgive you. Then it’s on you to make the right choices and hope that the hard-work, blood, sweat and tears takes you were you’re destined to go. And I have arrived… home.”
Davis Wayne Newton’s music hits and he’s out alone and heads to the ring and grabs a microphone..
“Shut up! My God, I have to listen to more sanctimonious, new-wave nonsense from you I’m going to puke. This isn’t some destiny. This is luck. Sheer luck. But guess what bucko… your luck’s run out. So at New Year’s Revolution, I’m cashing in my rematch and I’ll be reclaiming MY title.”
Living in America hits and here comes Valiant to join the party.
“Y’know, I’ve been biding my time. Waiting for my next shot. At my chance to get revenge on the Canadian Windbag in the ring. But I’m tired of waiting. NEWTON! You don’t get the next shot without beating me first!”
President Sam Keith then appears on the VesseyTron.
“I think that’s a capital idea. Tonight we’ll see Valiant take on Davis Wayne Newton for a shot at The Ace’s World Heavyweight Title at New Year’s Revolution.”
Rating: 90

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: The Biggins Boys vs. The Stone Foundation
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Stone Foundation defeated The Biggins Boys in 7:40 when Michael Stone submitted Brett Biggins with a Bubble Scissors.
Rating: 66

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde vs. William Jetterson
In a decent match, Prime Time Jack Pryde defeated William Jetterson in 10:15 by pinfall with a PrydeFall.
Rating: 64

[*]ANGLE: Angry Gilmore is backstage with Thom Barrowman… and he’s angry. He’s angry that New Year’s Eve never lives up to expectations and he’s angry that he didn’t get to be the one to beat Davis Wayne Newton. But mostly he’s angry that ‘the big lug’ Dreadnought beat him and continues to hang around with the punk kid. Clearly he hasn’t been listening to his elders and so, the lesson must continue.
Rating: 82

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: Flip Simpkins & Bryan Jewett vs. The Twin Powers
In a decent match, The Twin Powers defeated Flip Simkins and Bryan Jewett in 10:11 when Bulldozer Brandon Smith pinned Bryan Jewett with Stereo Powerbombs.
Rating: 62

[*]ANGLE: Honest Frank Jr and Dreadnought at backstage now. Honest Frank is delighted it’s 2025… the year of Frank. He’s already heard that Angry Gilmore wants to commit ritualistic suicide by facing Dreadnought again. And Dreadnought is happy with that. Dreadnought nods his head and growls. Frank Jr then turns his attention to his Intercontinental Title as The Eagle appears next to him. Eagle begins slapping his face to psych himself up and Frank tries to decipher to no avail. The Eagle then attacks Frank and heads to the ring.
Rating: 80

[*]EEE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: The Eagle vs. Honest Frank Jr (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Honest Frank Jr defeated The Eagle in 10:26 by pinfall with a Roll The Dice. Honest Frank Jr makes defence number six of the EEE Intercontinental.
Rating: 73

[*]ANGLE: In the locker-room, The VCC are sat with George Trapesi and Bryan Vessey. Bryan looks at the camera and smiles. “The revolution has just begun. We have defeated The Twin Powers and my boys have taken the steps they need to take to reach the top of the mountain. But we are men of combat. Modern Day Warriors. So when The Twin Powers think they’re ready… the rematch is on.”
Trapesi, then talks:
“Cameron ‘The Man’ Vessey taught me a valuable lesson about what it takes to be a man on Sunday. I’m not angry. Actually, I respect him more than I did before. And I am going to be training, waiting for him to accept a rematch. Next time, it won’t be so easy.”
Rating: 85

[*]NO.1 CONTENDERS MATCH: Valiant vs. Davis Wayne Newton
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Valiant in 9:54 by count out after The Stone Foundation beat beat him down behind the referee’s back.
Rating: 78

[*]OVERALL RATING: 80 – 0.96 (726,985 viewers), PPV Canada and Japan 0.01 (7,461 buys)

And so Davis Wayne Newton gets his rematch against The Ace. Filled with the fury of a champion-scorned and with a victory (albeit by count out) over the mighty Valiant. Those three were an incredible trio to have at the top of the card, but with Fro Sure, George Trapesi and Cameron Vessey behind them, not to mention Charlie Corner, The Twin Powers, Prime Time and The Perfect One, I really was, for the first time, in awe of what we had built.

EEE All Star Wrestling #46
Friday, Week 2, January 2025
The Empire Ballroom, New York City, New York
Attendance: 11,062

[*]ANGLE: Davis Wayne Newton is back in his executive suits in the balcony of The Empire Ballroom. He’s once again talking down to the crowd below. He’s back in line to get his title back. He understands that sometimes it’s nice to see your heroes stumble and fall. But even better is when they get back up and win again. He proved once again last week that he’s better than Valiant, which he guesses proves Canada is better than the USA. And come New Year’s Revolution he’ll show that again when he humbles The Ace.
Rating: 94

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Angry Gilmore vs. Astro
In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Angry Gilmore defeated Astro in 8:03 by pinfall with an Anger Management.
Rating: 49

[*]ANGLE: Cameron Vessey is backstage in the locker room warming up. Thom Barrowman approaches and asks him about George Trapesi wanting another fight? To be The Man, like he is, you have to take on all-comers. But he’s not sure Trapesi is actually ready to face him again. Vessey recognises that Trapesi has a lot of talent, but he lacks the confidence to face someone of his ability. Perhaps a match-up with his ‘friends’ The VCC might give him the confidence? He knows The Twin Powers would happily join his side too. “Think it over… Star.”
Rating: 83

[*]SINGLES MATCH: The Eagle vs. Denny King
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Denny King defeated The Eagle in 8:05 by pinfall with a Superplex.
Rating: 64

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: The Fantastic Express vs. Big Jon Walker & Dreadnought
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Fantastic Express defeated Big Jon Walker and Dreadnought in 8:21 when Zippy Deverell pinned Big Jon Walker, illegally using the ropes for leverage.
Rating: 67

[*]ANGLE: The Twin Powers are with Billy ‘The Brain’ Keelan. They like the cut of Cameron Vessey’s jib. A little six-man Gang Wars match alongside their friend would get the blood pumping. And the powerbombs flying. Emma Chase asks why Cameron doesn’t appear to share a locker room with them, and Billy cuts in yelling ‘Fake News’ and highlighting that Cameron is as much a part of the team as he is.
Rating: 82

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Charlie Corner vs. Spike Sylvain
In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Charlie Corner defeated Spike Sylvain in 9:34 by pinfall with a Corner Cutter.
Rating: 70

[*]ANGLE: Fro Sure has heard on his insta, that Trent Shaffer has been bad-mouthing him because he pinned him like a chump at Christmas Cage Chaos. That’s cool. But the thing is; Trent Shaffer is old news. You don’t hear his music in the charts. His name isn’t in lights. He’s a has-been. Fro Sure, is the future.
Rating: 88

[*]EEE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Trent ‘The Talent’ Shaffer vs. Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Aaron Andrews defeated Trent Shaffer in 22:53 by pinfall with a Flying Body Press following interference from Fro Sure. Aaron Andrews makes defence number one of the EEE World Heavyweight.
Rating: 81

[*]OVERALL RATING: 83 – 0.99 (743,580 viewers), PPV Canada and Japan 0.01 (7,438 buys)

We were slowly moving towards where we needed to be for the Revolution. But there were a few more pieces to slide into place. But first things first, it was time to see what Old School Principals were cooking up in The Ministry and to get a closer look at a man who has been on the verge of a roster-spot proper for over a year now.

NYCW Rush Hour 2025
The Ministry, New York City
1,000 (SOLD OUT!?!)

Ray Snow defeated Sandman Winks for the NYCW Nationwide Title – 55
James Prudence & Texas Hangman defeated Christian Plotcheck & Porkchop Patterson – 42

Bowden Snoop defeated Karl Greyjoy – 37
Garry the Entertainer defeated Blue Dragon – 49
Benjamin Reeves defeated Velocidad Jr – 27
Derrick Crump defeated Melvin Walkinshaw – 24
OVERALL RATING: 48

And with that, Sandman Winks gets called up to ‘jobber-to-the-stars’ status on the main roster. He was a solid-if-unspectacular worker who would fit right in with us.

The Empire Ballroom, New York City, New York
Attendance: 11,062

[*]ANGLE: ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton is out in front of the live New York City crowd and they greet him with deafening boos. He is not happy about Christmas Cage Chaos still. He admits it, he made a mistake. But, it might just have been; The Perfect Mistake. Because it told him that he misses tag team wrestling. So he’s going to mix it up tonight and change the rules to a Pick Your Partner tag match. He knows Prime Time will accept, because he’s desperate for that one-on-one revenge match-up. He’d like the crowd to meet his hand-picked partner… ‘The Georgia Bulldog’ Riley McManus.
Rating: 95

[*]EEE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Biggins Boys vs. The Fantastic Express vs. The VCC (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The VCC defeated The Biggins Boys and The Fantastic Express in 11:52; the order of elimination was The Biggins Boys first, and then The Fantastic Express. The VCC make defence number one of the EEE World Tag Team.
Rating: 70

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Bryan Jewett vs. Denny King
In a decent match, Denny King defeated Bryan Jewett in 9:55 by pinfall with a Superplex.
Rating: 57

[*]ANGLE: Charlie Corner is with Thom Barrowman and he just absolutely LOVES New York City. It’s a place where a cool California Kid like himself can relax, chill out and meet awesome people. People like this guy… Denny King wanders by and sneers at Corner and waves him away. Ok, maybe not that guy, but he’s sure there’s a story there. And he’d love to find out about it.
Rating: 71

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Jason Patterson vs. ‘The Stud’ Phil Anders
In a poor match, Phil Anders defeated Jason Patterson in 10:29 by pinfall with a Hangman's Neckbreaker.
Rating: 49

[*]ANGLE: Honest Frank Jr is looking at himself in the mirror, when a bandaged The Eagle attacks him and smashes his face into the mirror, breaking it. Dreadnought then comes from nowhere and levels The Eagle.
Rating: 81

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Stevie Stanley vs. Cameron Vessey
In a decent match, Cameron Vessey defeated Stevie Stanley in 12:29 by pinfall with a Vessey Driver II.
Rating: 73

[*]ANGLE: After the match George Trapesi attacks from the crowd. Vessey is initially rocked, but gets his bearings and despite having just fought beckons Trapesi on. Trapesi lines him up, while Vessey smiles. And a massive Star Maker Lariat connects and Vessey is left laying in the centre of the ring.
Rating: 87

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde & Fro Sure vs. Pepper Pelton & Riley McManus
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Riley McManus and Pepper Pelton defeated Prime Time Jack Pryde and Fro Sure in 9:35 when Pepper Pelton pinned Fro Sure with a Fisherman's Suplex.
Rating: 80

[*]ANGLE: After the match, the mysterious voices calls out threateningly for Fro Sure and the normally cool guy looks scared asking, “Is that Shaffer? Is he playing games?”
Rating: 86

And that is the question isn’t it? Is it Shaffer? And if it isn’t; who is it? Things were heating up as I did everything in my power to appease the production team, Larry and most importantly myself this year. The ideas floating around were so disperate that finding a through-line of storylines was a very difficult task indeed. Still we were at the go-home show already.

[*]ANGLE: Davis Wayne Newton is out among the people tonight… in the ring. Don’t want to get too close, they might make him dirty. He’s feeling full of confidence. We’re only a few short days away from everything being right with the universe again. It’s almost time for him to ascend to the top of the mountain. And you can take that to the bank, because he’s THE Canadian Hero.

Rating: 61

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Sandman Winks vs. Trent ‘The Talent’ Shaffer
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Trent Shaffer defeated Sandman Winks in 10:05 by pinfall with a handful of tights.

In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Fro Sure defeated The Masked Mauler in 10:10 by pinfall with a Sure Thing.

I had to admit it, I loved the Cameron Vessey character. Not to mention his prodigious talent in the ring to go along with it. But more importantly, we were ready for Supershow: New Year’s Revolution. Due to the Fro Sure storyline and some other mixing up, we’d drop the Pick Your Partner tag team match for the Cross River boys. Booking via committee was always going to be tough.

EEE Supershow: New Year’s Revolution

EEE World Heavyweight Title: Davis Wayne Newton vs. Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews ©

Tough call, but in-storyline Larry is NOT a fan of Ace, and as a growing company trying to make your brand a household name I agree that he's not someone you want to be holding the big gold (at least not for long). Logical reason is I have no idea who challenges Ace if DWN loses, unless Vessey gets rocketed to the strap and wins it at the next event instead.

EEE Intercontinental Title: Charlie Corner vs. Honest Frank Jr ©

Denny King's back - I'm more interested in seeing Charlie interact with the original sh*theel of NYCW/EEE, so I don't see him winning this. Maybe Big Jon helps Frank retain when he wouldn't have been able to, further emphasizing the competition between the two bodyguards?

Prime Time Jack Pryde vs. ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton

Bold choice on my part in the first show of the year, but I just feel like the CRC break up feud needs SOMETHING to heat it up into a final, big-time confrontation and if Pryde wins it takes a lot of the wind out of the sails of the final confrontation with some gimmick attached.

George Trapesi & The VCC vs. Cameron Vessey & The Twin Powers

George is one of the last home grown solo stars you have, so I think the new champs and the true ace of E^3 get the win.

Valiant & Fro Sure vs. Trent Shaffer & Riley McManus

Riley is very much a "plug in a top heel for a tag or singles match" guy without any real storylines, and Trent is definitely either a red herring or going to go through a colossal gimmick change. Good guys win then spooky stuff happen after.

Angry Gilmore vs. Dreadnought

It's a rerun of last month so I don't see the match going down the same way it did last time... I think Gilmore squeaks out a win to create some tension between the two bodyguards.

The Fantastic Express vs. The Stone Foundation

Stone Foundation JUST beat the Fantastics, and the Fantastics aren't the Biggins yet - unless there is some kind of storyline starting with them going on a losing streak, or breaking up to do singles stuff, or something similar.

The Eagle vs. Monty Trescarde

Big Eagle mark, I feel like in a slightly alternate universe he could be in the spot Trapesi is in.

I can’t tell you how close this was to a reality. But a series of odd events set Trapesi on the path and then his popularity and skills went into the stratosphere. This game has been full of little moments where stories I thought would take off didn’t and ones which I cared little for became legendary.

Charlie's not winning the title back, one way or another

Prime Time Jack Pryde vs. ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton

Okay, I'm going completely against what I said last month. But this works for me - Pepper goes on to face Andrews, while the eventual victory for Pryde is even sweeter

George Trapesi & The VCC vs. Cameron Vessey & The Twin Powers

I'm looking forward to the epic match when Vessey takes the title off Andrews, right? Many months away yet.

Valiant & Fro Sure vs. Trent Shaffer & Riley McManus

Could easily go the other way with the debut costing Fro, but I'll go for a post match attack instead

No title change but a screwy ending to set up another match. I think the powers that be want to see if the “Toxicness” of Andrews wears off. Based on his growing Merch sales I’d say it is.

EEE Intercontinental Title: Charlie Corner vs. Honest Frank Jr ©

Corner is a hot property, But Frankie is NYCW royalty

I think it’s time Prime Time gets his revenge and these 2 move on.

George Trapesi & The VCC vs. Cameron Vessey & The Twin Powers

No titles on the line so perhaps the bad guys get a win here.

Valiant & Fro Sure vs. Trent Shaffer & Riley McManus

Well clearly someone is after Fro Sure and it’s likely from his past in GSW. Could Brother Grimm be bringing in someone here?

Angry Gilmore vs. Dreadnought

Dreadno has been coming on lately after that miserable first run. He’s benefiting from the rub of Jr. Angry is going to likely join Monte soon on the sidelines

The Fantastic Express vs. The Stone Foundation

The Stone’s appear to have the stones to fast track up the Tag Team rankings and look to be headed towards a shot at the VCC

The Eagle vs. Monty Trescarde

I’m going against my better judgement here but figure Monte’s winding up his contract

New York City… the Revolution will be televised…

k91EC19.jpg

EEE Supershow: New Year’s Revolution
Sunday, Week 4, January 2025
Greenwalt Dome, New York City, New York
Attendance: 48,320

TAG TEAM MATCH: The Biggins Boys vs. The Masked Mauler & Phil Anders
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Masked Mauler and Phil Anders defeated The Biggins Boys in 10:06 when Phil Anders pinned Bart Biggins with a Hangman's Neckbreaker.
Rating: 62

Notes: In an attempt to get a hot opener and some momentum on the side of Mauler and Anders, we job out The Biggins Boys. The brother tag team’s run was almost over based on their athleticism and general age, so now was the time to help build up new workers before we sent them down to NYCW to help with the next generation of EEE worker. It was a fairly brutalist approach to one of our best ever tag teams, but that’s the business and Larry’s transformation from cheapskate owner to maniacal millionaire encompassed many points of our business.

SINGLES MATCH: The Eagle vs. Monty Trescarde
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Eagle defeated Monty Trescarde in 9:34 by pinfall with a Freedom Slam.
Rating: 65

Notes: Monty’s descent into lower-midcarder is basically complete at this stage. He’s a talented worker, but without a compelling character and following his dismissal from the Keelan Family there really was very few places for him to go. The Eagle gets a decent win to maintain his solid midcard position.

TAG TEAM MATCH: The Fantastic Express vs. The Stone Foundation
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The Fantastic Express defeated The Stone Foundation in 10:02 when Rafe Sashay pinned Christopher Stone, illegally using the ropes for leverage.
Rating: 70

Notes: Good match as The Stone Foundation continue proving their worth to the tag team division. While being with DWN has been a boon for them, it was more than time for them to establish themselves as an entity in their own right too. But they’re not ready to best The Fantastic Express two months on the spin just yet. Zippy and Rafe were really our top tag team, almost too good for the World Tag Team Titles. But a bubbling tension between these two teams could well create an interesting series of matches and this was a good continuation to level things up at one win a piece.

EEE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Charlie Corner vs. Honest Frank Jr (c)
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Honest Frank Jr defeated Charlie Corner in 9:50 by pinfall with a Roll The Dice. Honest Frank Jr makes defence number seven of the EEE Intercontinental.
Rating: 73

Notes: Honest Frank Jr has finally stepped from ‘cheat to hold on to the title’ champion to ‘defend the title in good matches’ champion. His reign has been a rousing success for his character. Corner could afford the loss after the year he’s had. Although we really did need to move him onto a meaty storyline soon.

TAG TEAM MATCH: Valiant & Fro Sure vs. Riley McManus & Trent Shaffer
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Fro Sure and Valiant defeated Riley McManus and Trent Shaffer in 10:18 when Valiant pinned Riley McManus with a V-Split.
Rating: 79

Notes: Well, well, well; Valiant & Fro Sure have excellent chemistry, which is quite the find in two top stars like that. Combine that with the incredible team of Shaffer and McManus and we could have a couple of future big teams to add to the ranks. I loved the dynamic with Shaffer and McManus who have found themselves tied to each other throughout their careers with us. Amazing match here too with the heroic duo getting the win.

ANGLE: After the match, a mysterious man with dreadlocks appears wearing baggy jeans and a chain around his neck. He storms the ring and attacks and beats down Fro Sure and Valiant. When he’s finished he smiles, revealing golden teeth.
Rating: 67

SINGLES MATCH: Angry Gilmore vs. Dreadnought
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Dreadnought defeated Angry Gilmore in 8:02 by pinfall with a Dread Bomb.
Rating: 53

Notes: The veteran takes a shellacking from The Monster in a somewhat disappointing match. Everyone shall know his name… DREADNOUGHT!

GANG WARS MATCH: George Trapesi & The VCC vs. Cameron Vessey & The Twin Powers
In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, George Trapesi and The VCC defeated The Keelan Family (Cameron Vessey, Bulldozer Brandon Smith and Andrew Harper) in 9:37 when George Trapesi pinned Andrew Harper with a Star Maker Lariat.
Rating: 76

Notes: Great match-up and a much-needed victory for George Trapesi who has gone from World Heavyweight Champion to something of an after-thought. Vessey is a dominant singles performer, while The Twin Powers had been dominant for months. This progresses both stories nicely.

SINGLES MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde vs. ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Pepper Pelton defeated Prime Time Jack Pryde in 9:35 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.
Rating: 75

Notes: Fantastic match-up between the former partners as The Perfect One gets the victory, clean-as-a-whistle in the middle of the ring. Prime Time looked like a star throughout and the ending caused audible gasps in the ring, which is just great stuff. This doesn’t feel like the end of this most epic of revenge rivalries, but it’s a big step in that direction. Heating things up which had been a little slow.

EEE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Davis Wayne Newton vs. Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews (c)
Andrews comes in with chops to start and you can tell DWN is amped and ready. DWN with the press slam and hiptoss out of the corner to put Andrews on the floor. They head to the ramp and trade chops and Andrews throws him back into the ring, but DWN goes to the eyes and drops a knee. Andrews no-sells it and goes up with a High Cross Body for an early, but close two, so DWN bails to think it over. Back in, DWN finally kicks him in the knee and goes to work with chops, but The Ace clotheslines him out of the corner, but then misses an elbow. Newton tries the STF, but Andrews kicks out of it and they’re at an impasse. Test of strength and DWN pokes him in the eye to win that and chops him down, then they head back out to the ramp as they call the 15:00 mark. Back in, The Ace makes a comeback in the corner and hiptosses YOUR Canadian Hero again, but he misses the dropkick this time and DWN goes to work on the knee now. But then DWN drops the knee and misses, and Andrews gets his own STF and Newton has to make the ropes. Back to the floor and DWN sends him into the railing, but Andrews shrugs that off and they head back in as The Ace slugs away on the mat. DWN goes up and gets slammed off, and Andrews gets a backslide for two. And then DWN clips the knee right away and goes to work on it again. Andrews fights off the STF, so DWN takes him back to the corner for more chops, and The Ace no-sells them all and makes the comeback with another Leg Lariat. Clothesline gets two. Andrews slugs away in the corner and we get the 100 degree flip over the rope followed by the clothesline on the apron, and finally a suplex gets two. Corner Splash and Flying Cross Body follows, but now The Stone Foundation run in and argue with the referee until DWN makes the ropes. Newton gets a pinfall attempt on the ropes, but the ref notices and pushes him off and Andrews rolls him up for two. They go into the pinfall reversal sequence and DWN gets the backslide for two. Andrews follows with more chops, but DWN reverses, but then DWN misses a corner clothesline and runs into the turnbuckle. This brings in The Stone Foundation for more shenanigans, with Christopher sliding the World Heavyweight Title to DWN. Andrews hasn’t noticed and tried a rather insulting STF, but DWN blasts him with the title and rolls him up for the pinfall win.
In an exceptional match, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Aaron Andrews in 24:02 by pinfall with a rollup after The Stone Foundation interfered. Davis Wayne Newton wins the EEE World Heavyweight.
Rating: 81

Notes: And in the blink of an eye, it’s all gone. Poor Aaron Andrews, who put on great match after great match to climb his way to the very top, only to see it come crashing down at the hands of the Canadian Hero. This was a belter of a match, with both men letting it all hang out. To the anger of the crowd though; Canada’s Finest do what they do and cheat to win.

OVERALL RATING: 80 – 0.41 (207,247 buys)

I bet that left a bad taste in people’s mouths. Still onwards we go. I had a booking committee situation on my hands and an Empire Royale to plan for.

Next time… an anniversary show beckons…

And Season 2 kicks off with a bang. THe hot-shotting of the World Title threw many of you, as it probably should've and the number of rematches made it tough too. Congratulations to ToastyCenturion whose come out of the blocks the fastest. But with no-one under 50% this is a stellar start to proceedings.

Hopefully you all like the slightly more detailed in-match write-up fo the main event, style and content which was liberally lifted from my favourite wrestling writer on the web... Mr. Scott Keith.

Prime Time’s rise up this leaderboard was fantastic and he was comfortably getting bigger and better reactions each week. With his feud with The Perfect One being one of the highlights of the show on a regular basis. But more important than that, it was our Anniversary month. I had considered making this show one of the ‘Big Ones’ of the year, but with Empire Royale the month after and Starclash II two months after that, it did feel like we were putting all our big shows in a short period. So this remains a Supershow for now.

Instead he’ll respectfully request a rematch, right now. Trapesi, VCC and Bryan Vessey are out. They’re always up for a fight. So if he wants to go another round. Suit up.
Rating: 99

Life has changed, time to move on from the mistakes of the past. Frantic Ali jumps from the front row and delivers a furious attack, leaving Fro Sure unconscious.
Rating: 80

Rating: 64

[*]ANGLE: Honest Frank Jr and Dreadnought are being interviewed by Thom Barrowman. Frank Jr talks saying that having finally seen off The Eagle and Angry Gilmore, they feel completely confident. There isn’t any two men in EEE who can challenge them. The Fantastic Express wander by and look at Honest Frank, they pause for a minute and then laugh hysterically and leave. Frank looks angry.
Rating: 80

[*]GANG WARS MATCH: George Trapesi & The VCC vs. Cameron Vessey & The Twin Powers
In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The Keelan Family (Cameron Vessey, Bulldozer Brandon Smith and Andrew Harper) defeated George Trapesi and The VCC in 9:34 when Cameron Vessey pinned George Trapesi with a Vessey Driver II after Billy Keelan interfered.

Ray Cavalero suffered a nasty fractured cheek bone there, which would cause him to be limited in matches for a while. That was ok though, because JP Barnham could carry the team for the time being. Over in EisenLand; Enygma has won the SWF World Heavyweight Title for the third time. Nothing like putting over fresh new stars.

Attendance: 12,088

[*]ANGLE: Davis Wayne Newton is enjoying a scotch… on the rocks in his executive suite. It pays to be the Champion. But he’ll be watching tonight’s main event with great interest. But really, he has nothing to fear because he’s a Canadian Hero, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Rating: 96

[*]SINGLES MATCH: The Eagle vs. William Jetterson
In a decent match, The Eagle defeated William Jetterson in 9:53 by pinfall with a Freedom Slam.
Rating: 61

[*]ANGLE: Honest Frank Jr is with Thom Barrowman. He did not like the disrespect that was afforded him by The Fantastic Express, a team so pointless they’ve never even been tag team champions. As a lesson to them, he’s sending out Dreadnought and Big Jon to face them right now. That’ll wipe the smirks from their faces.
Rating: 83

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: The Fantastic Express vs. Dreadnought & Big Jon Walker
In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Fantastic Express defeated Big Jon Walker and Dreadnought in 10:19 when Rafe Sashay pinned Big Jon Walker by using underhanded tactics.
Rating: 60

[*]ANGLE: We go backstage to find Prime Time and The Perfect One brawling with one another. Prime Time lifts up The Perfect One and slams him through a catering table. He yells ‘This will NEVER be over Pep!’ before leaving.
Rating: 90

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Angry Gilmore vs. Frantic Ali
In a bout that had good heat but sub-par wrestling, Frantic Ali defeated Angry Gilmore in 9:55 by pinfall with a Death Valley Driver.
Rating: 47

[*]ANGLE: After the match, Frantic Ali grabs a microphone. He’s here to remind Fro Sure what he did. He knows he’s all popular and respectable and the idiot fans love him. But they don’t know him, not like WE know him. And Ali is here to make sure Fro Sure never forgets where he came from.
Rating: 84

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde vs. ‘The Stud’ Phil Anders
In a bout that had fantastic heat and decent wrestling, Prime Time Jack Pryde defeated Phil Anders in 12:16 by pinfall with a PrydeFall.
Rating: 70

[*]ANGLE: Cameron Vessey is with The Keelan Family and being interviewed by Thom Barrowman. While One Man Army asks the questions; The Twin Powers continue to poke and prod him, looking for a reaction. Vessey meanwhile explains the pressure he’s under to be the best, not something Barrowman would know anything about. But he’s overcome the first obstacle, which is beating George Trapesi’s team-mates. He’s beaten Trapesi once himself, but he feels that he hasn’t learnt his lesson. There’s still some ego left inside him and Vessey won’t stop until it’s extinguished entirely. So he’s throwing out a challenge to Trapesi for the Anniversary Supershow.
Rating: 86

That was a fantastic show and during the post-event locker room meeting, I made sure to thank the boys for their hard work over the last year and provided a few cases of drinks and platters of food so we could celebrate our anniversary ourselves; before doing it in front of the crowd in a couple of weeks.

Larry, Sam and myself were enjoying a cold beer and watching The Twin Powers pushing Barrowman around and him putting them in fake wrestling locks when one of our production workers came in excitedly with a note. She handed it to me and waited for me to read.

“It says that Canada-1 and Seleccion Mexico are so impressed with the ratings that they want us to move to a Prime Time Slot,” I said happily. “And Japanese Vision 3 have heard the rumours and would like to sign a deal to exclusively bring Empire Elite Entertainment to Japan.”

“Well I never,” said Keith. “I can’t tell you how often I tried to get MAW on over in Japan. This is massive news.”

“It’s the next logical step,” Vessey said and he cheersed his beers with my and Sam. “This is proof of what I’ve been hearing around the scene recently. People are taking us seriously, even with the criminal in the main event and some of our… disagreements over who to push.”

“You’re getting your way,” I said with an eye-roll.#

“We’re getting our way,” he fired back. “But Empire Elite Entertainment is now considered up there with your TCW’s in size. We’re not some breakout independent, regional company. We’ve grown. We’re one of the Big boys now.”

I received a tape of the latest NYCW show because I was stuck in merchandising, production and distribution meetings for the whole week. The buzz from our switch to Prime Time in other regions, combined with our minor expansion into Japan meant that all eyes in production were on me.

Typically it was one of the better shows that they’d put on. It played in the background as I worked through the upcoming shows leading to the Anniversary. We were riding a wave of momentum and popularity we’d never seen before. And while it was hard work; it was intensely satisfying.

[*]ANGLE: Bryan Vessey leads out George Trapesi and The VCC. But it’s Trapesi who takes the microphone.
“Cameron Vessey! I don’t shy away from any match-up. You’re not my family, and I don’t give a damn where you came from or what’s going on in your head!” he yells and then looks at Bryan, who looks a little uncomfortable. “You don’t get to the very top by dodging challenges. Cameron Vessey, you want to fight. You got it!”
Rating: 99

[*]EEE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Shufflebottom & Williams vs. The VCC (c)
In a poor match, The VCC defeated Alistair Shufflebottom and Ben Williams in 6:19 when Ray Cavalero pinned Ben Williams with a Vessey Locks. The VCC make defence number two of the EEE World Tag Team.
Rating: 57

[*]ANGLE: Aaron ‘The Ace’ Andrews is backstage with Thom Barrowman. He understands that you can’t win em all. But he wishes Valiant all the best. But that does mean he’s free for the Anniversary show. And he notices The Stone Foundation aren’t doing anything. So he’s got himself a tag team partner and he’s spoken with President Keith to get a match for the big show. He then introduces Charlie Corner.
Rating: 77

[*]EEE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Chip Martin vs. Honest Frank Jr (c)
In a decent match, Honest Frank Jr defeated Chip Martin in 9:54 by pinfall with a Roll The Dice. Honest Frank Jr makes defence number eight of the EEE Intercontinental.
Rating: 63

[*]ANGLE: President Keith announces that it’s not fair that Valiant has had a hard-fought match leading up to the Anniversary Bash and the champion hasn’t. Therefore tonight Davis Wayne Newton will defend his title against a young man who has impressed him… Zippy Deverell.
Rating: 96

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Charlie Corner vs. Taylor Mitchell
In a poor match, Charlie Corner defeated Taylor Mitchell in 9:39 by pinfall with a Corner Cutter.
Rating: 56

[*]ANGLE: ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton cuts a promo from his home wearing a neck-brace. He says that as far as he’s concerned his finished with Prime Time. But that douchebag just can’t seem to let go, or move on. Therefore he’s spoken to the NYPD and he’s got himself a restraining order. If Prime Time lays his hands on The Perfect One in any non-wrestling fashion. He’s off to the big house. And seeing as he’s not going to give him a match, that should be that. As for him, well Pepper misses having some gold around his waste. So he wants Honest Frank Jr, a man he respects, to give him the opportunity to win the Intercontinental Title at the Anniversary Show. He’ll take the answer off air.
Rating: 91

[*]EEE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Zippy Deverell vs. Davis Wayne Newton (c)
In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Zippy Deverell in 22:14 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex following interference from Honest Frank Jr. Davis Wayne Newton makes defence number one of the EEE World Heavyweight.
Rating: 77

[*]ANGLE: After the match is over Honest Frank Jr, Dreadnought and Big Jon Walker beatdown Zippy. DWN leaves the area smirking to himself, when Rafe Sashay comes down to save his partner, but he gets overwhelmed too and The Fantastic Express are left laying on the mat.
Rating: 85

[*]OVERALL RATING: 83 – 1.00 (757,135 viewers), PPV Canada and Japan 0.02 (11,542 buys)

The other big players in US professional wrestling had started to make moves. Part of me thought that maybe it was in response to us stealing their headlines. TCW signed Ash Campbell, which actually would really damage PSW and Mitch by virtue of that. USPW were obviously planning on trying to hook in more Mexican viewers with the signing of La Sombre Jr. Both were great workers, but neither were really on our radar. And it was nice watching companies other than us losing their workers. One day we’d start poaching wrestlers ourselves.

EEE All Star Wrestling #52
Friday, Week 4, February 2025
The Empire Ballroom, New York City, New York
Attendance: 11,952

[*]ANGLE: Valiant is out to start the show to a massive U-S-A chant. He smiles and flicks his hair.
“My fellow Americans… we’re almost there. It’s been a long road. Ever since Davis Wayne Newton inserted himself into the main event of Summer Slamboree, we have been waiting… patiently… for the chance to fight him in the main event, for the gold. And now, after fighting the incredibly talented Ace, we’ve done it. I couldn’t have made it here without each and every one of you. The Valiant Nation is strong tonight. I know you don’t want to hear this, but Davis Wayne Newton is a Hell of a professional wrestler. And while he doesn’t always hold himself in the glory with which he’s capable, there is no tougher competitor to face in EEE. But there’s one thing he doesn’t have, that I do. You. All of you. With your support there’s nothing I can’t achieve. In short, we’re almost there.”
Rating: 99

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Fro Sure vs. Sandman Winks
In a decent match, Fro Sure defeated Sandman Winks in 12:25 by pinfall with a Sure Thing.
Rating: 72

[*]ANGLE: After the match, Frantic Ali attacks, but this time Fro Sure is ready for him. The two men batter each other, when a third enters; taller than them both. He joins Ali’s side and the two men beat Fro Sure to mush.
Rating: 73

[*]SINGLES MATCH: George Trapesi vs. Spike Sylvain
In a decent match, George Trapesi defeated Spike Sylvain in 11:31 by pinfall with a Star Maker Lariat.
Rating: 71

[*]TAG TEAM MATCH: Bryan Jewett & Stevie Stanley vs. The Twin Powers
In a decent match, The Twin Powers defeated Bryan Jewett and Stevie Stanley in 7:34 when Andrew Harper pinned Stevie Stanley following Stereo Powerbombs.
Rating: 59

[*]ANGLE: After the match The Twin Powers put their opponents through tables and start posing. Thom Barrowman gets in the ring to interview the victors, but Billy Keelan grabs the microphone to tell The VCC this is what awaits them at the Anniversary Bash. And then the tag team titles are coming home. Barrowman tries to remain calm and professional, but The Twin Powers start pushing him around and roughing him up.
Rating: 83

[*]SINGLES MATCH: Flip Simpkins vs. Big Jon Walker
In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Big Jon Walker defeated Flip Simkins in 6:04 by pinfall with a Monster DDT.
Rating: 43

[*]ANGLE: Honest Frank Jr congratulates Dreadnought on a win, while he and Big Jon get in the ring. He wants to address The Perfect One’s challenge for the Intercontinental Champion. Pepper Pelton comes out and the two shake hands and look delighted with one another. Frank Jr liked how respectful Pelton was and he concurs that there is a mutual respect between them. He sees no reason not to have a match. Just then The Fantastic Express and Prime Time Jack Pryde charge the ring and attack all four men. With all Hell breaking loose, President Keith comes out. He doesn’t like wrestlers going around him to make their own matches. He saw what Frank Jr and Dreadnought did to Zippy Deverell in his World Title match. Therefore at the Anniversary Bash Dreadnought and Honest Frank Jr will face The Fantastic Express in a tag team match. But he wants the Intercontinental Title defended too. While Pepper Pelton vs. Honest Frank Jr would certainly be a fantastic match, he thinks a triple threat match would be better. So after his tag team match; Honest Frank Jr will defend the title against BOTH ‘The Perfect One’ Pepper Pelton AND Prime Time Jack Pryde. As for right now. I see no reason not to have a match to warm you all up. Prime Time and The Fantastic Express vs. Honest Frank Jr, Big Jon Walker and Pepper Pelton. Rating: 82

[*]GANG WARS MATCH: Prime Time Jack Pryde & The Fantastic Express vs. Honest Frank Jr, Pepper Pelton & Dreadnought
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Prime Time Jack Pryde and The Fantastic Express defeated Pepper Pelton, Honest Frank Jr and Dreadnought in 11:53 when Prime Time Jack Pryde pinned Honest Frank Jr with a PrydeFall.
Rating: 79

[*]OVERALL RATING: 83 – 1.00 (753,176 viewers), PPV Canada and Japan 0.02 (11,604 buys)

And with that, we were ready to celebrate our annivesray with the fans. News reached me after the show that Julius Moor had won the USPW World Title, having defeated Running Wolf. That seemed like a poor move to me. But what do I know? I’m just the hottest head booker in all of professional wrestling...
