On the opposite side of the ring, Cactus Jack steps into the spotlight, a determined glint in his eyes as he seeks redemption and his first win in the Premier League, despite facing overwhelming odds against the former champion, Sting.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Can Cactus Jack make himself famous tonight as he takes on the first ever Grand Prix champion, Sting? He’s still looking for that first win, and a win against Sting would prove to everyone he belongs in this dance. Of course, Jack is known for is reckless regard for both his opponent’s wellbeing and his own. Let’s see whether that works to his advantage tonight.
Indeed, Jim. For Cactus Jack, this is a chance to prove himself on the biggest stage against one of WCW's top stars. And for Sting, a win here solidifies his position as a dominant force in the Premier League.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match unfolds as a brutal, high-stakes encounter, with both Sting and Cactus Jack leaving it all in the ring. Cactus Jack, known for his willingness to take insane risks, throws caution to the wind as he battles Sting in a wild brawl, shocking the audience with his resilience and determination. In a shocking moment, after exposing the concrete floor, Jack looked to DDT Sting from the apron all the way to the concrete, but Sting sent Jack crashing hip first onto the concrete.

Despite Cactus Jack's valiant efforts, Sting ultimately gains the upper hand, locking in his signature Scorpion Deathlock submission hold. With the agony of defeat looming, Cactus Jack taps out, conceding victory to Sting. However, the mutual respect between the two competitors is evident as Sting nods to Cactus Jack, acknowledging his courageous performance.

In the post-match scene, Sting celebrates his hard-fought victory, while Cactus Jack slowly rises to his feet, battered but unbowed, earning the respect of the fans for his fearless display. The clash between these two competitors promises a mix of athleticism and underhanded tactics.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Jim Ross remarks on the contrasting styles and tactics of the two wrestlers, stating, "Scotty Flamingo, the epitome of privilege and excess, faces off against the scrappy Johnny B Badd, who's proven himself with his devastating Wild Thing Haymaker. It's a classic showdown of cunning versus heart.

On the other side, Johnny B Badd showcases his resilience, countering Flamingo's dirty tactics with an impressive display of athleticism and agility.

The turning point comes when Flamingo's associate, Stan Hansen, makes his presence felt, interfering in the match to aid Flamingo. Seizing the opportunity, Flamingo capitalizes on the distraction and delivers a low blow to Johnny B Badd. With the odds stacked against him, Johnny falls victim to Flamingo's maneuver, leading to a controversial victory for Flamingo.

With the match concluded, Flamingo celebrates his tainted win, basking in the glory of his ill-gotten triumph. However, tensions simmer within Flamingo Corp as Hansen's dissatisfaction with Flamingo's reliance on interference becomes increasingly evident. As Flamingo writes a check to pay the fine imposed by WCW for interference, the cracks in the stable's unity threaten to escalate into a full-blown confrontation, adding another layer of intrigue to the ongoing drama within WCW's Division Two.

Scotty Flamingo (3-0-0) defeated Johnny B Badd (1-2-0) in 14:26 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever encounter.

The title graphic shows for WCW’s Inside the Squared Circle segment, and the show pivots to a studio segment featuring the legendary Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, and Magnum TA. At the bottom of the screen, a news ticker hypes next weeks WCW subsidiary shows.

3wSc89I.jpg
Tonight, we witnessed an epic showdown between Cactus Jack and Sting in the Premier League. Despite Cactus Jack's loss, his gutsy effort and never-say-die attitude proved without a doubt that he belongs among the elite competitors of the Premier League. His resilience, determination, and willingness to push himself to the limit were on full display, earning the respect and admiration of fans worldwide.
Gutsy effort? Never-say-die attitude? Spare me the melodrama, Magnum. Cactus Jack may have put up a fight, but at the end of the day, a loss is a loss. In the Premier League, it's all about results, and Cactus Jack simply couldn't deliver when it mattered most. We can't afford to sugarcoat reality; he didn't prove anything tonight except that he's not cut out for the big leagues.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Jesse, you're missing the point entirely. Wrestling isn't just about wins and losses; it's about heart and determination. Cactus Jack may have fallen short on the scoreboard, but he showed the world that he's willing to lay it all on the line for the sake of competition. That's the mark of a true warrior, and it's what sets him apart from the rest.
Heart and determination don't put points on the board, Magnum. This is professional wrestling, not a charity event. Cactus Jack may have heart, but he lacks the skill and prowess necessary to compete at the highest level. Tonight's loss only confirmed what many of us already knew - he's out of his league in the Premier League.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Well, it's clear that Cactus Jack's performance tonight left an indelible mark on the hearts of fans everywhere. But now, let's hear what Gary Hart has to say about tonight's match as we send it over to him backstage.

LPWA Round 4, Card 1 featuring Wendi Richter vs Debbie Malenko | WFWA Round 5, Card 2 featuring Rey Misterio Jr vs Rob Van Dam | SSW Round 5, Card 1 featuring Blue Demon Jr vs David Sammartino | PWFG Round 4, Card 2 featuring Doug Furnas vs Akira Maeda

Gary Hart is standing by with Rick Rude, who wants to take time out of his busy schedule to allow the public audience to bask in greatness. Rude proceeds to cut a rambling, egocentric promo about how great he is and how he rules the world as champion.

Next week, 'Sugar' Stan Hansen - the brash and unpredictable powerhouse backed by the nefarious Flamingo Corp - will lock horns with 'Double A' Arn Anderson, the resilient and no-nonsense fan-favorite who stands as a beacon of honor and integrity in the world of professional wrestling

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Well, well, well, Arn Anderson, looks like you've stepped into the lion's den, boy. You see, in this world, there are two kinds of people: those who embrace the sweetness of success and those who get trampled underfoot. And let me tell ya, Double A, you're lookin' at the latter. Flamingo Corp has got my back, and together, we're gonna turn you into nothin' more than a spoonful of sugar in our coffee. So lace up your boots real tight, Arn, 'cause next week, I'm gonna show you just how bitter defeat can taste.
Stan Hansen, you can talk all you want about sugar and sweetness, but let me tell you somethin', son. In this ring, it ain't about candy-coated metaphors or fancy corporate backing. It's about heart, it's about grit, and it's about proving that you've got what it takes to stand tall against any obstacle. You may think you've got the upper hand with your Flamingo Corp cronies, but let me remind you, Stan, I've faced tougher challenges before breakfast. So next week, when we step into that ring, be prepared to taste the bitterness of defeat, 'cause Double A is comin' for ya, and there ain't nothin' sweet about it.

Amidst the electrifying atmosphere of the WCW arena, 'Freebird' Michael Hayes struts down the ramp, exuding confidence alongside his brash young manager, Shane Douglas. On the opposite side, Larry Zbyzsko makes his entrance, carrying the weight of his long-standing losing streak, determined to turn the tide in Division Two of WCW's round-robin tournament.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This is a pivotal moment for both Michael Hayes and Larry Zbyszko. Hayes, struggling to adapt to singles competition, faces off against Zbyszko, who's desperate to break free from his losing streak. It's a clash of determination and resilience.
Douglas's influence could either propel Hayes to victory or prove to be his downfall.
1JITbbY.jpg
As the match unfolds, the spotlight is on the tumultuous relationship between Hayes and Douglas, with the manager's interference often causing distractions for Hayes. Meanwhile, Zbyzsko channels his frustration into a focused performance, seizing control of the match.

In the climax of the bout, despite Douglas's attempts to intervene, Zbyzsko manages to overcome the odds and deliver a decisive blow, securing the clean pinfall over Hayes. The victory not only ends Zbyzsko's lengthy losing streak but also marks a significant setback for Hayes in his singles career.

With the match concluded, Zbyzsko celebrates his hard-earned triumph, while Hayes and Douglas are left to grapple with the implications of their defeat. The post-match scene sees tensions simmering between Hayes and Douglas as they exchange heated words, hinting at potential discord within their partnership moving forward in WCW's Division Two.

Larry Zbyzsko (1-2-0) defeated Michael Hayes (0-3-0) in 13:06 by way of pin fall. Larry improves to 2-0-0 all time against Hayes, with their first match having been a tag team contest.

Across the ring, Ric Flair struts down the aisle, flanked by the formidable Four Horsemen and their valet, Woman. The atmosphere crackles with excitement as these two titans prepare to collide in a showdown for the ages.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This match is the culmination of a storied rivalry between two of the greatest icons in wrestling history. It's a clash of egos, a battle for supremacy that will go down in the annals of WCW.
The tension surrounding this match is palpable. With the Four Horsemen lurking at ringside, Hogan faces an uphill battle against Flair, who's backed by his ruthless allies. It's a high-stakes encounter that will shape the rest of the season for WCW.
1JITbbY.jpg
In the heart of the match, Hogan and Flair trade thunderous blows, each refusing to back down in the face of their opponent's legendary prowess. The ringside area becomes a battleground of its own as Diamond Dallas Page and the Four Horsemen engage in a war of words and shoves, adding another layer of drama to the contest.

As the match reaches its climax, Hogan summons the strength of the Hulkamaniacs, rallying against Flair's relentless assault. In a stunning turn of events, Hogan defies the odds and delivers his signature Atomic Leg Drop, shaking the arena with its impact.

With the crowd roaring in approval, Hogan secures the victory, pinning Flair to the canvas. As the dust settles, Hogan stands tall in the ring, his hand raised in triumph, while Flair and the Four Horsemen retreat, forced to regroup in the wake of their defeat. The post-match scene is one of jubilation for Hogan and his loyal fans, celebrating a hard-fought victory over his legendary rival.

Hulk Hogan (2-0-1) defeated Ric Flair (1-2-0) in 17:39 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever encounter under the WCW Grand Prix.

Yes, Mista Race… On a week that saw many wrestlas step up and put on amazing efforts, we have to give this one to Ricky Steamboat who has been firing on all cylinders since dropping down to the tag team division. It’s clear he has something to prove since being demoted, and he continues to steal the show week in and week out.
yQXPnPd.jpg
I hate to agree with you, Dusty, but Steamboat has all the drive in the world at the moment and it’s impossible to disregard. That said, I am looking forward to the start of Round 4 next week!

Arn Anderson vs Stan Hansen
Big Van Vader vs Dustin Rhodes
Haku vs Terry Taylor
Johnny B Badd vs Eddie Gilbert
Samoan Swat Team vs The Steiner Brothers
PS Lucha vs True Grit

SYNOPSIS

With Round 3 in the books, it's time to kick off Round 4.

In Division Two action, both Johnny B Badd and 'The Hotstuff Horseman' Eddie Gilbert are looking to bounce back from losses as they square off. It's been clear that The Four Horsemen haven't been off the start that was expected of them, and after their leader - 'The Man' Ric Flair - lost definitively to Hulk Hogan, it's clear they will want to make a statement as quickly as possible. Can Gilbert be the statement maker for the group? Or will 'Wild Man' Johnny B Badd knock him out? And speaking of stables looking to make statements, Terry Taylor and Haku will both be looking to do so on behalf of their respective stables when they square off. Rumour has it that Haku will be expected to pull double duty for Flamingo Corp, taking on Taylor without any support before being at ringside in the main event to support Stan Hansen. Will Haku succeed on his own, or will he become a victim of the number's game against Terry Taylor.

Meanwhile, in tag team action, The Steiner Brothers make their return to WCW Saturday Night after being a feature attraction on World Wide to start the season. And they'll be doing so close to home in the Mid-West. They are undefeated since returning to the tag team division - will they remain as such? Or will the dangerous and reckless Samoan Swat Team take them out? That's not the only tag match on display though, as PS Lucha continue their surprising start against the always dangerous team of True Grit. It's a clash of styles here, who will step up to the challenge and push up the ranks of the Tag Team Division?

In Premier League action, the youngest competitor in WCW Grand Prix history - 24 year old Dustin Rhodes - looks to score his first victory this season. However, his challenge his immense as he squares off against 'The Mastadon' Big Van Vader. Vader has squared off against three of the biggest stars in WCW in Hogan, Flair and Rude, and has not suffered a defeat this season. It has been 5 months since Vader last tasted defeat - can the son of the Commissioner shock the world?

Finally, in the main event of the night, it's a clash between South and North as 'Double A' Arn Anderson takes on 'Sugar' Stan Hansen in Arn's home town. Make no bones about it - this one is going to be bowling shoe ugly. Can Arn survive the sweet onslaught of Sugar Stan and the nefarious Flamingo Corp stable mates at ringside? Will Hansen's frustrations with stable leader Scotty Flamingo continue to cost him points? Or will Hansen beat the home town hero and stand tall in Minneapolis?

yQXPnPd.jpg
Oh, Dusty, Dusty, Dusty... Always gotta show favoritism to your boy, huh? Well, let me tell ya, Dustin Rhodes ain't in the Premier League 'cause he's earned it, he's in it 'cause of nepotism! And as for Arn Anderson, he may have that 'fighting spirit,' but he's no match for the sheer brute force of 'Sugar' Stan Hansen. Mark my words, both Rhodes and Anderson are in for a world of hurt tonight!
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
While both Dusty and Paul present valid points, it's important to consider the dynamics at play in tonight's matches. Dustin Rhodes may be the youngest competitor in Premier League history, but his determination cannot be overlooked. Similarly, Arn Anderson's experience and resilience make him a formidable opponent for 'Sugar' Stan Hansen, who, as of late, has been embroiled in internal strife within his stable, Flamingo Corp. These factors could significantly impact the outcome of tonight's main event.
But let me tell ya, folks, if there's one match you don't wanna miss tonight, it's that main event between Arn Anderson and 'Sugar' Stan Hansen! These two warriors are gonna leave it all in that ring, and I guarantee ya, it's gonna be a showdown for the ages!
yQXPnPd.jpg
Dusty's right about one thing, folks. Tonight's main event is gonna be a clash of styles and egos, and you better believe it's gonna be a wild ride. Arn Anderson may have the heart, but 'Sugar' Stan Hansen's got the power, and that's gonna be the difference-maker tonight.

This week on WCW World Wide, in Division Two action, Nikita Koloff (1-3-0) defeated Butch Reed (0-4-0) and in tag team action, The Classic Era (4-0-0) remained perfect with the Kiwi Queen Susan Sexton at ringside when they defeated The Wild Stallions (1-3-0). Plus, Hulk Hogan was interrupted by Player Enterprises during an interview. Tensions were high as Hogan and Bigelow proceed on a collision course to their Round 4 match up.

Gary Hart is joined then by Brian Pillman and ‘America’s Most Hated’ Steve Austin. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Danger Zone, where the drama never ends and the action never stops! I'm your host, the one and only Paul E Dangerously, and in two weeks time, we have a showdown of epic proportions brewing. In one corner, the Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair, and in the other, the Ravishing One, Rick Rude! But before we dive into the chaos, let's introduce our guests! To my right, the stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun, Ric Flair! And to my left, the man who's been draped in gold ever since winning the Grand Prix, the Ravishing One, Rick Rude! Now, Ric, this match has been brewing for quite some time. What are your thoughts on facing Rude in two weeks?
Paul, let me tell you something. Rick Rude may think he's the ruler of the world, but in this ring, there can only be one man at the top, and that's me, THE MAN. Rude, you may have won the Grand Prix, but that doesn't mean a thing when you're facing the dirtiest player in the game. So, when we share the ring, I'll show you why they call me the Nature Boy.

HwXAX8e.jpg
Strong words, Ric. Now, Rude, Flair seems to have his sights set on proving himself against you. What's your response to that?
Flair, Flair, Flair. Always so full of yourself. You may have been a big deal in the past, but times have changed. I'm the man holding all the gold now, and in two weeks, I'll prove once and for all that I'm the true ruler of the wrestling world. You may have your Horsemen backing you up, but when it comes down to it, it's just you and me in that ring.

HwXAX8e.jpg

True Grit may not play by the rules, but they're certainly effective in the ring. PS Lucha will need to stay on their toes and utilize their speed and agility to overcome the brute strength and underhanded tactics of their opponents.
1JITbbY.jpg
From the opening bell, the contrasting styles of the two teams are on full display, with PS Lucha showcasing their technical finesse while True Grit relies on brute force and dirty tactics to gain the upper hand. Despite PS Lucha's agility and teamwork, True Grit's relentless assault takes its toll, wearing down their opponents with ruthless efficiency.

In the aftermath of the match, True Grit celebrates their hard-fought victory in the center of the ring, reveling in their underhanded tactics and asserting their dominance in the Tag Team Division. Yw8oqxT.jpg
This match is a clash of ideologies, with the flashy and unpredictable Johnny B Badd facing off against the calculated and cunning Eddie Gilbert. Both men have a lot to prove tonight, and it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top.

3wSc89I.jpg
Tonight, we're addressing the controversy surrounding Johnny B Badd's signature move, the 'Wild Thing Haymaker.' While it's undeniable that this move packs a serious punch and has proven effective in knocking out opponents, the question remains: should it be banned from professional wrestling? Some argue that it's a dangerous maneuver that goes against the rules, while others believe it's just another part of the excitement and unpredictability of the sport.
Dangerous maneuver? You're damn right it is, Magnum! The 'Wild Thing Haymaker' is nothing but a glorified illegal closed fist strike. We've got rules in this sport for a reason, and Johnny B Badd seems to think he's above them. It's a cheap shot that has no place in the squared circle, and it's high time we put an end to it before someone gets seriously injured.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Jesse, I understand your concern about safety, but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Yes, the 'Wild Thing Haymaker' is a powerful move, but it's also a crowd-pleaser that adds excitement to the matches. Johnny B Badd has honed his technique to ensure that it's delivered safely, and the fans love every minute of it.
Crowd-pleaser? Safety? Spare me the excuses, Magnum. This isn't about entertaining the fans; it's about protecting the integrity of the sport. Johnny B Badd may think he's impressing the crowd with his flashy moves, but all he's doing is putting his opponents at risk. We can't allow illegal maneuvers like the 'Wild Thing Haymaker' to run rampant in professional wrestling.

The wrestling world braces itself for a clash of epic proportions as 'The Beast of the East' Bam Bam Bigelow squares off against the immortal 'Hulkamania' Hulk Hogan in next week's main event. Bigelow, the towering monster heel, backed by the formidable Player Enterprises stable and guided by the cunning Teddy Long, has been facing turbulent times lately, struggling to maintain his dominance in the ring. With the stage set for a classic tale of overcoming the odds, anticipation for this showdown reaches a fever pitch, promising a battle for the ages.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Hulk Hogan, you may think you've got the world at your feet, brother, but let me tell you somethin'. The winds of change are blowin', and they're blowin' in the direction of Player Enterprises. You may have had your moment in the sun, but now, it's my time to shine. Teddy Long's got my back, and together, we're gonna tear you limb from limb. You may be the hero of the people, but in this ring, there's no room for heroes, only beasts. So next week, when we step into that ring, prepare yourself for a world of hurt, because 'The Beast of the East' is coming for you, and there's no escape.
Well let me tell you somethin', brother! Bam Bam Bigelow, you may think you're the big bad beast of the ring, but you're lookin' at the wrong end of the power scale, dude. You may have Player Enterprises watchin' your back, but I've got somethin' you'll never have: the power of Hulkamania runnin' wild, stronger than ever. You may be big and bad, but I've faced monsters before, and I've come out on top every single time. So next week, when we step into that ring, get ready for a battle like you've never seen, because Hulkamania's gonna run wild, and there ain't no stoppin' it, brother!

As the arena fills with anticipation, Haku, representing the Flamingo Corp stable, makes his solitary entrance, exuding an aura of intimidation and menace as he strides confidently down the ramp. Across the ring, Terry Taylor, flanked by the formidable Player Enterprise stable, enters with an air of confidence, accompanied by Nobuhiko Takada, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Teddy Long.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Haku may be flying solo tonight, but don't underestimate the sheer power and brutality he brings to the ring. He's proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with, and Terry Taylor would be wise to approach this match with caution.
Terry Taylor may have the backing of the dominant Player Enterprise stable, but he'll need more than just numbers to overcome the relentless onslaught of Haku. This match is a true test of skill and resilience for both competitors.
1JITbbY.jpg
From the opening bell, Haku asserts his dominance, unleashing a barrage of strikes and power moves to assert control over Taylor. However, Taylor refuses to back down, mounting a resilient defense and countering with his own array of technical maneuvers.

Despite Taylor's valiant efforts, Haku maintains the upper hand for much of the match, showcasing his raw strength and aggression in a relentless assault on his opponent. However, Taylor seizes an opportunity and surprises Haku with a sudden roll-up pin, catching him off guard and securing the victory.

In the aftermath of the match, Haku is visibly frustrated and dismayed by his defeat, his hopes of climbing the ranks in Division Two dashed. Meanwhile, Taylor celebrates his hard-fought win alongside his cohorts from Player Enterprise, basking in the glory of his triumph. As Haku regroups and heads up the ramp, Haku crossed paths with the rest of Flamingo Corp, was reprimanded and forced to march right back to the ring to support Stan Hansen.

Terry Taylor (2-2-0) defeated Haku (2-2-0) in 15:54 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever match up.

PzJCc3U.jpeg

As the raucous crowd fills the arena, "Sugar" Stan Hansen strides to the ring, flanked by his cohorts from the Flamingo Corp stable—Scotty Flamingo, Alexandra York, and Haku. Across the ring, the hometown hero, Arn Anderson, makes his entrance, greeted by thunderous cheers from the Minneapolis faithful. The stage is set for a clash of styles and personalities in this high-stakes Premier League showdown.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This match is a true test of grit and determination. You've got 'Sugar' Stan Hansen, a ruthless brawler from the south, facing off against Arn Anderson, a master technician known for his technical prowess. It's a classic clash of styles that promises to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.
The tension is palpable here tonight. With 'Sugar' Stan Hansen looking to turn his losing record around and Arn Anderson fighting to defend his home turf, there's a lot riding on the line for both competitors. It's a must-win situation for Hansen if he wants to stay in contention in the Premier League.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match unfolds in a brutal and hard-hitting fashion, with Hansen using his raw power to dominate early on, while Anderson relies on his technical skill to mount a comeback. The action spills to the outside as both men trade punishing blows, leaving the crowd in awe of their resilience.

Despite Anderson's valiant efforts, Hansen gains the upper hand with a vicious assault, wearing down his opponent with relentless strikes and power moves. Arn mounts one last big comeback as the crowd goes wild. It looks like Arn has momentum on his side, but Alexandra York jumps up on the apron. With referee Randy Anderson’s attention diverted, Scotty Flamingo seizes the opportunity to interfere, delivering a devastating blow to Anderson and allowing Hansen to capitalize for the win.

As the final bell rings, Hansen emerges victorious, his hand raised in triumph by Flamingo Corp. Meanwhile, Anderson is left battered and bruised in the ring, his hometown hopes dashed by the underhanded tactics of his opponent's stable. The post-match scene is one of celebration for Hansen and his cohorts, while Anderson is left to lick his wounds and regroup for his next battle in the Premier League. It looks like Flamingo has managed to appease Hansen.

Stan Hansen (1-2-1) defeated Arn Anderson (1-3-0) in 15:02 by way of pin fall following interference from Scotty Flamingo. This was their first ever match up.

Replays are shown of the finishes from the night, followed by the updated leaderboards for WCW’s Grand Prix. Standing by for analysis as always is the team of Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, and Paul E Dangerously.

m7hmEdg.jpg
Boom! What a hard hitting main event to kickstart Round 4! Stan Hansen picks up his first win of the season, jumping ahead of Arn in the standings and into a tie with Simmons, Bigelow and Muta on the bubble spot of relegation.
Ah… that was, to steal a phrase from Jimmy Ross, a slobberknocker… The boys went hard and despite the foul play by Flamingo Corp playing a factor in the result, Stan Hansen proved tonight that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League… If you will…
yQXPnPd.jpg
For sure - and the fact that Stan’s got Flamingo’s money behind him only makes him more dangerous. Unlike your son… who predictably fell to zero and four on the season. Emphasis on the zero.
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
Hoo boy, hope that isn't bugging out Dusty too much! Before we wrap up tonight, we still gotta announce a first star for tonight! A lot of guys stood out this week, but one performance stood above the rest. Young 'All-American Muscle’ Scott Steiner is reaching a level that everyone should put on notice.
I’ll deal with Mista Dangerously’s comments once the camera’s stop rolling… let me tell ya that… but we gotta talk about the quality of wrestling coming out of the tag team scene. Guys like Steiner and ‘The Dragon’ and Steve Austin and Dr. Death are consistently putting out some of the best wrestling on the planet today… The tag team scene right now is unbelieveable.
yQXPnPd.jpg
Way to avoid commenting on your kid remaining winless, oh great commissioner! Well folks, another week is in the books! See ya all next week for more of Round Four action!

SYNOPSIS

fr0Xr4T.jpeg

Half way through Round 4 - are you ready for more WCW action?

In Division Two action, it's a battle of perfection as Scotty Flamingo takes on Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan has been proving that he belonged in the Premier League after being relegated last season with an amazing start to the season, but Flamingo has also remained perfect for the opening stretch thanks to his willingness to absorb the costs of fines attributed to interference. Who's desperation runs deeper? Who is willing to sink to lower depths to pull out the victory and remain perfect after four rounds? Will Flamingo's supporting cast help him rise above, or will Sullivan and the brainwashed Missy Hyatt end up on top?

Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the spectrum in the Tag Team Division, The Fantastics and The Terrors battle it out at the bottom with both teams looking to put up their first points of the season. The Fantastics have struggled to move on past Tommy Rogers' shoulder injury, putting protection of him above the success of the team, and the routine continues to have comedic effects as they plummet down the standings. On the opposite end of the ring, The Terrors may be 0-3 in the Grand Prix, but they are coming off an unsanctioned street fight victory over their rivals, The Journeymen, on PPV. Can One Man Gang and Dan Spivey use this momentum to secure their first win of Grand Prix action this season, and start to climb out of the basement of their division? Plus Thunder Dragon and The Young Pistols square off in further exciting tag team action. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat has been in perfect form so far this season, stealing the show in every match he's a part of. Will Thunder Dragon continue their strong start on the backs of another incredible Steamboat performance?

In Premier League action, it's the WCW Ace - Sting - looking to extend his perfect start to four straight wins when he squares off against Powerhouse Simmons. The two have a storied past surrounding Simmons' quest to reach the top of WCW and are 1-1 against each other all time in Grand Prix action, with Simmons being one of only four individuals to score a victory over Sting all time in the Premier League. Can Simmons overcome Sting once more? Plus for the first time ever, Barry Windham and The Great Muta will square off in singles competition. Only one point separates these two in the rankings - which warrior will take a step closer to the top of the rankings?

Finally, in the main event of the night, 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan continues his Premier League run against one of the biggest and baddest wrestlers WCW has to offer - Bam Bam Bigelow. Hogan has not yet tasted defeat in WCW, but can he overcome The Beast From the East with the dominant Players Enterprise at ringside? Hogan will have his buddy, Diamond Dallas Page, at ringside to attempt to offset the distractions of Bigelows pals, but will it be enough or will Bigelow be the first man to pin Hogan in WCW?

March 1994 : Week 3

After his victory on Power Plant Wrestling, Sam Houston tested positive for opioid usage and was released from his contract. His position in PPW will be filled by the next event. Rockin Robin, who has been wrestling dark matches at LPWA events, disagreed with the decision and was terminated as well. Meanwhile, Southern States Wrestler Frankie Lancaster was charged with possession of steroids and has been fired by WCW.

CMLL released Ulises.

WWF has opted not to renew the contract of road agent Chief Jay Strongbow after 22 years of service across two runs with the company.

NJPW extended the contract of Dojo graduate young lion Iemitsu Okawa for 86K over 2 years - he will continue his development at W*ING.

Yoji Anjo lost his MMA fight, his professional record drops to 2-1-0.

Tony St. Clair has announced their retirement at 48, making a social appearance which showed an early start on retirement with his physical appearance clearly not what it once was. The 4 time ASW British Heavyweight champion is well known across the British Isles and will be sorely missed.

Legendary wrestler, trainer and promoter Red Bastien passed away this. Red was a champion across the territories in the 60s and was credited as discovering Sting and Ultimate Warrior. He was 63.

The Top Guns (Derrick Dukes and Ricky Rice) defeated DeNucci & Norris to win the PWA Tag Team titles for the fourth time.

Akira Hokuto won the WWWA World title for the first time, defeating Kyoko Inoue, furthering her legendary run at the top of women’s wrestling.

The Natural Disasters defeated Mr. Perfect and The Mountie to win the WWF World Tag Team Championships for the record tying fourth time.

First up, we have a clash of titans as 'The Ace' Sting pays tribute to the late Red Bastien, the man who introduced him to the world of wrestling, as he takes on Powerhouse Ron Simmons. yQXPnPd.jpg
Oh, Dusty, Dusty, Dusty... Well, let me tell ya, Ron Simmons may be a powerhouse, but he's no match for the sheer charisma and skill of Sting. And as for Barry Windham, facing Great Muta? Please! Muta's gonna leave him in the dust with his unorthodox style. But when it comes to the main event, Hulk Hogan may have the crowd on his side, but Bam Bam Bigelow's gonna make sure he regrets stepping into that ring tonight. It's gonna be a brutal beatdown, mark my words!

yQXPnPd.jpg
Dusty's right about one thing, folks. Tonight's main event is gonna be a clash of titans, and you better believe it's gonna be a war. Hogan may have the legacy, but Bigelow's got the fire, and he's gonna give the Immortal one a run for his money.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This match is not just about the Premier League standings; it's about the legacy of two incredible athletes. Sting's tribute to Red Bastien adds an emotional layer to an already intense rivalry, and I expect nothing short of a classic encounter between these two competitors.
Absolutely, Jim. Both Sting and Ron Simmons have left an indelible mark on the wrestling world, and tonight, they're going to leave it all in the ring. It's more than just a match; it's a testament to the enduring spirit of competition and respect in WCW.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match kicks off with a flurry of hard-hitting strikes and powerful maneuvers, as Sting and Simmons trade blows in a display of pure athleticism and determination. Each competitor refuses to give an inch, showcasing their resilience and unwavering resolve as they vie for supremacy in the Premier League. The intensity reaches a fever pitch as the match progresses, with both Sting and Simmons unleashing their signature moves in a relentless pursuit of victory. Despite Simmons' formidable strength and power, Sting proves to be a resilient adversary, countering each of his opponent's maneuvers with precision and skill. The crowd is on the edge of their seats as the momentum swings back and forth, with neither competitor willing to back down in their quest for victory.

Sting locks in his patented Scorpion Deathlock, wrenching back with all his might as Simmons struggles to escape. With the arena pulsating with anticipation, Simmons finally succumbs to the excruciating pain, tapping out to Sting's submission hold. As the bell rings, Sting's victory is met with thunderous applause from the crowd, who rise to their feet in appreciation for the incredible display of athleticism and sportsmanship they've just witnessed.

In the emotional aftermath of the match, Sting kneels in the center of the ring, paying homage to Red Bastien with tears in his eyes, his victory serving as a fitting tribute to the man who helped shape his career. Meanwhile, Simmons exits the ring with his head held high, displaying the same dignity and respect that has defined his legendary career.

Sting (4-0-0) defeated Powerhouse Simmons (1-2-1) in 14:41 by way of submission. Sting now holds the all-time advantage between the two, 2-1-0.

PzJCc3U.jpeg

Thunder Dragon, comprised of Jushin ‘Thunder' Liger and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, make their electrifying entrance, their colorful attire and dynamic presence signaling their status as fan favorites. Across the ring, The Young Pistols, Tracy Smothers, and Scott Armstrong, step into the spotlight with determination, despite Scott filling in for his injured brother Steve, showcasing their resilience as they prepare to face the formidable Thunder Dragon.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Thunder Dragon has been on an incredible streak lately, showcasing unparalleled teamwork and athleticism. But don't count out The Young Pistols; despite the substitution, they're determined to prove themselves as still viable against one of the premier teams in WCW.
Absolutely, Jim. Thunder Dragon may have the momentum, but The Young Pistols are no strangers to adversity. With the heart and determination they've displayed throughout their careers, they'll be looking to pull off an upset victory tonight.
1JITbbY.jpg
From the opening bell, both teams unleash a flurry of high-flying maneuvers and technical prowess, thrilling the audience with their fast-paced action and seamless teamwork. Thunder Dragon asserts their dominance early on, using their experience and chemistry to control the tempo of the match, while The Young Pistols refuse to back down, mounting a spirited defense against their more experienced opponents. As the match progresses, Thunder Dragon continues to showcase their dynamic offense, with Liger and Steamboat executing a series of breathtaking aerial assaults and devastating strikes. Despite The Young Pistols' valiant efforts to mount a comeback, Thunder Dragon maintains their momentum, wearing down their opponents with their relentless assault.

In the closing moments of the match, Thunder Dragon delivers a spectacular combination of maneuvers, culminating in Liger hitting a Liger Bomb and pinning Scott Armstrong for the victory. The crowd erupts into cheers as Thunder Dragon celebrates their hard-fought win.

In the aftermath of the match, The Young Pistols regroup outside the ring, visibly disappointed by their defeat but determined to learn from the experience and come back stronger in their next encounter. Meanwhile, Thunder Dragon basks in the adulation of the crowd.

Thunder Dragon (3-0-1) defeated Tracy Smothers and Scott Armstrong (1-3-0) in 12:44 by way of pin fall when Liger pinned Scott Armstrong This was the first ever match between these two teams.

We go backstage to a set designated for Gary Hart, who is standing by reporting on the results of WCW World Wide from earlier this week, while results from Friday Night’s B-show, WCW Main Event, scrolls on the bottom of the screen.

ZPkCtDG.jpg
Over on World Wide this week, ‘America’s Most Hated’ Steve Austin and Brian Pillman (4-0-0) defeated The Journeymen (1-3-0) in Tag Team Division action. In Division Two action, Dan Severn (3-1-0) defeated Diamond Dallas Page (2-2-0). It was a wild night of wrasslin.

Main Event #107 : Van Hammer defeated Mike Samson | Rayo de Jalisco Jr defeated Moondog Rex | Lioness Asuka & Bull Nakano defeated Misty Blue & Tina Moretti | Samoan Savage defeated Ultimo Dragon

Gary Hart is then interrupted by The Miracle Violence Connection and The Outsiders. They yell at each other, talking about who’s gonna beat who next week in the World Wide Main Event. Gary tries to put over the match, but keeps getting talked over, until the screen cuts away to The Danger Zone.

HwXAX8e.jpg
Welcome, wrestling aficionados, to the Danger Zone, the place where the heat is always turned up to the max! I'm your host, Paul E Dangerously, and tonight, we've got a collision course set between two titans of the ring. On one side, the wild and unpredictable Cactus Jack, and on the other, the Total Package himself, Lex Luger! But before we dive into the madness, let's introduce our guests! To my right, the man who's known for dancing with danger, Cactus Jack! And to my left, the powerhouse who's been on an undefeated streak this season, Lex Luger! Now, Cactus, you've been making waves lately, especially after your battle with Sting. What are your thoughts going into this match against Luger?
Paul, let me tell you something. Sting might be the golden boy around here, but I took him to the limit in our last match. Sure, I didn't come out on top, but I proved that I can hang with the best of them. Luger, you may be riding high on your undefeated streak, but next week, you're stepping into the ring with a man who's got nothing to lose. And trust me, that makes me the most dangerous man in this business.
RTxlFij.jpg” width=
HwXAX8e.jpg
Cactus, you're known for your unpredictability, but Luger, how do you plan to deal with someone as unhinged as Cactus Jack?
Paul, Cactus Jack may be wild and unpredictable, but he's also reckless. He's been on a losing streak this season for a reason, and next week won't be any different. I've been at the top of my game, and nothing's going to change that. Cactus, you may think you're the most dangerous man in the business, but when you step into the ring with the Total Package, you'll learn what true dominance is all about.

There you have it, folks! Don't you dare miss this epic showdown, and remember to stay dangerous!

Scotty Flamingo, flanked by his cohorts Alexandra York and Haku, saunters confidently to the ring, exuding arrogance and entitlement. His ostentatious demeanor and lavish lifestyle paint a picture of a spoiled rich kid who's used to getting his way. Across the ring, Kevin Sullivan, accompanied by the brainwashed Missy Hyatt, approaches with an aura of intensity and determination, ready to uphold his undefeated streak and make a statement in Division Two of WCW.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This match is a clash of egos and ideologies, showcasing the stark contrast between Scotty Flamingo's ostentatious wealth and Kevin Sullivan's gritty determination. These two polarizing personalities are vying for the top spot in the division!
Absolutely, Jim. Both Flamingo and Sullivan have been dominant forces in Division Two. It's a battle of wits and wills, and the stakes couldn't be higher.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match unfolds with Flamingo and Sullivan engaging in a psychological chess match, each trying to outmaneuver the other while exploiting their respective strengths and weaknesses. Flamingo's reliance on his cronies at ringside becomes apparent as they attempt to sway the match in his favor, while Sullivan remains focused on his opponent despite the distractions. As the bout intensifies, Flamingo's underhanded tactics come into play, with York and Haku attempting to interfere on his behalf. Referee Jimmy Jett is quick to intervene, ejecting them from ringside, but while his attention is diverted, the unexpected return of El Gigante sends shockwaves through the arena. The towering Gigante makes his presence felt by incapacitating Sullivan, providing Flamingo with an opportunity to capitalize.

With Sullivan down and out, Flamingo seizes the moment, delivering a decisive blow to secure the victory. Despite the controversy surrounding the match's conclusion, Flamingo emerges victorious once again, maintaining his undefeated record in Division Two.

In the aftermath of the match, Flamingo flaunts his ill-gotten victory, arrogantly writing another check to WCW to cover the fine for outside interference. As he revels in his triumph, the returning El Gigante stands tall in the ring, casting a shadow over Flamingo's celebrations.

Scotty Flamingo (4-0-0) defeated Kevin Sullivan (3-1-0) in 14:28 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever encounter.

PzJCc3U.jpeg

The Great Muta, adorned in his iconic face paint, makes his electrifying entrance, captivating the audience with his enigmatic presence. Across the ring, Barry Windham, known as the 'Widowmaker,' exudes confidence as he strides confidently to the ring, determined to overcome his recent struggles and secure a much-needed victory in the Premier League.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This matchup promises to be a showdown between two of WCW's most dynamic competitors. The Great Muta's recent turn away from Player Enterprises has revitalized his career, while Barry Windham is looking to prove himself in singles competition after dominating the tag team division.
Absolutely, Jim. Both Muta and Windham are fan favorites, and tonight, they're going head-to-head in what is sure to be an unforgettable encounter. The stakes are high, and the anticipation is palpable.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match unfolds as a masterclass in ring psychology, with Muta and Windham showcasing their technical prowess and strategic acumen. Each competitor takes their time, carefully sizing up their opponent and biding their time for the perfect opportunity to strike. As the contest reaches its climax, the pace quickens, with both Muta and Windham unleashing a flurry of high-impact maneuvers in rapid succession. The momentum shifts back and forth as they exchange near-falls, each coming agonizingly close to victory

In the final moments of the match, with time running out, both Muta and Windham push themselves to the limit, desperately trying to secure the decisive pinfall. However, despite their best efforts, the clock expires, and the match ends in a hard-fought draw, leaving the outcome unresolved.

In the aftermath of the match, Muta and Windham share a mutual show of respect, acknowledging each other's resilience and skill in the ring.

The Great Muta (1-1-2) and Barry Windham (1-2-1) went to a 20:00 minute time limit draw.

3wSc89I.jpg
Tonight, we're delving into the topic of home-town advantages in professional wrestling, sparked by Arn Anderson's loss last week against 'Sugar' Stan Hansen in Anderson's own stomping grounds. Some argue that wrestling in your hometown should give you a psychological edge and boost your performance, while others believe that the pressure to deliver in front of friends and family can actually be a hindrance. It's a debate that sheds light on the complex dynamics of wrestling psychology and fan expectations.
Hindrance? Spare me the excuses, Magnum. In professional wrestling, you have to take any advantage you can get, and that includes using the energy and support from your hometown crowd to fuel your performance. Arn Anderson failed to capitalize on his home-field advantage, plain and simple. If he couldn't get the job done in front of his own fans, he doesn't deserve to win.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Jesse, while I understand your perspective, wrestling isn't always that cut and dry. The pressure of performing in your hometown can weigh heavily on a wrestler, adding an extra layer of stress and expectation. Arn Anderson may have been overwhelmed by the pressure to deliver a victory for his fans, but that doesn't diminish his talent or dedication to the sport.
Pressure? Expectation? That's all part of the game, Magnum. Professional wrestlers thrive on pressure; it's what separates the champions from the chumps. Arn Anderson had every opportunity to use the support of his hometown crowd to his advantage, but he failed to rise to the occasion. It's a disappointing showing that proves he's not as tough as he thinks he is.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Well, Jesse, it seems we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. While home-field advantage can be a powerful motivator, it can also be a double-edged sword. That’s all the time we have this week - now it’s over to our esteemed colleague, Gary Hart, who is showing off some of the competitors in the upcoming WCW Battlebowl Atomicos!

PWFG Round 5, Card 2 featuring 2 Cold Scorpio vs Gary Albright | SSW Round 6, Card 1 featuring Blue Demon Jr vs Bruiser X Mastino | PPW Round 4, Card 2 featuring Rayo De Jalisco Jr vs Samoan Savage | WFWA Round 6, Card 2 featuring Kid Kash vs Owen Hart | LPWA Round 5, Card 1, featuring Malia Hosaka vs Akira Hokuto

Gary Hart introduces us to some of the competitors for WCW Battlebowl Atomicos, hailing from the legendary Arena Mexico! Arn, Larry, Tully, The Steiner Bros are all standing by with Gary as he explains the rules for Battlebowl Atomicos. 32 wrestlers will enter, and be drawn into 4 person teams at random. A one night tournament commences with the finals being an elimination match, and whoever remains standing at the end of the night splits the $400,000 prize! Who will you be paired with? Friends or enemies?

The Man' Ric Flair prepares to go toe-to-toe with 'Ravishing' Rick Rude in next week's main event. Their history is fraught with animosity, stemming from Flair's dismissal of Rude as a suitable partner last year. Since then, Rude has ascended to new heights, capturing the Grand Prix and basking in the glow of his championship gold, while Flair, once a favorite, finds himself struggling to regain his footing after a disappointing start to the season.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Rick Rude, Rick Rude, Rick Rude. You've been parading around with that Grand Prix title like it's the crown jewel of the wrestling world, but let's get one thing straight, pal. You may think you rule the world, but in this ring, there's only one man who holds that title, and that's me, Ric Flair. You may have your flashy gold and your fancy accolades, but when it comes down to it, you're nothing but a pretender in the presence of greatness. So next week, when we step into that ring, I'll show you just why they call me 'The Man' and why you'll always be second best.
Ric Flair, Ric Flair, Ric Flair. It seems like every time I turn around, there you are, running your mouth about how you're the best there is, was, and ever will be. But let me tell you somethin', Flair, talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words. You may have had your time in the spotlight, but now, it's my time to shine. You may have your little Four Horsemen backing you up, but I've got something you'll never have: the heart of a true champion. So next week, when we step into that ring, I'll prove once and for all that it's not about who talks the talk, but who walks the walk. And believe me, Flair, when it's all said and done, you'll be looking up at the new ruler of the wrestling world.

The Fantastics, Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, make their colorful entrance, with Fulton overly protective of Rogers' previously injured shoulder, while Rogers plays it off nonchalantly. On the other side, The Terrors, Dan Spivey and One Man Gang, exude menace and aggression, embodying the archetypal monster heels of the era, ready to unleash havoc upon their opponents.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Tonight, we witness a clash between two teams desperate for a victory, with The Fantastics looking to overcome their comedic antics and The Terrors aiming to assert their dominance as the newest villains on the block. It's a high-stakes encounter with both teams fighting to climb out of the bottom of the tag team division.
Absolutely, Jim. The Fantastics may bring an element of humor to the ring, but make no mistake, they're serious competitors with a lot to prove. Meanwhile, The Terrors have made it clear that they'll stop at nothing to achieve victory, and tonight, they have their sights set on exploiting Tommy Rogers' shoulder injury.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match begins with The Fantastics displaying their signature high-flying offense, but The Terrors quickly assert their dominance, targeting Rogers' injured shoulder with ruthless precision. Despite Fulton's valiant efforts to protect his partner, The Terrors maintain control, utilizing their size and strength to isolate Rogers and wear him down. As the match progresses, The Fantastics rally, fighting back with everything they have, but The Terrors' relentless assault proves too much to overcome. Spivey and One Man Gang continue to punish Rogers, methodically dismantling him in the center of the ring as Fulton watches on in anguish, unable to intervene.

What an amazing night of WCW action we have witnessed here today, climaxing with Hogan overcoming his largest challenger since joining WCW! Dusty, who’s tonight’s MVP?
Well… the Stinger put on an amazing tribute to the late Red Bastien, picking up the win against his storied rival, Powerhouse Simmons… But ultimately, we have to give the award and the $10,000 bonus to Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat, who’s aging like fine wine… We all thought that his drop from the Premier League would be the signifier of his decline, but The Dragon seems to have only gotten better this year…

You know, I feel like each week that Steamboat wrestles, I have to cave to accepting just how good he is. But what about the other massive development tonight, the return of El Gigante? We haven't seen him in two months - but he made a massive impact immediately upon his return, helping Flamingo stay undefeated.

Just in time for him to return to the Premier League, too. Next week he’ll be squaring off against Nobuhiko Takada. And speaking of next week, we have a massive main event as ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude takes on ‘The Man’ Ric Flair!
Lord have mercy… Just what we need, the Flamingo Corp ranks returning to their full size and Scotty Flamingo’s momentum seemingly unstoppable…

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for joining us tonight. We hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and to see you all again next week for more exciting WCW action!
