SUMMERCARD IV

The biggest event of the summer is here! (NOTE: For now on I will put the matches in chronological in the big events and not in the card order as I always do. I hope this is not too confusing, but I thought about some of your comments).

#Opener: Sean McFly's Career Match

SEAN MCFLY vs ERNEST YOUNGMAN

Sean McFly.jpgvs gew.jpgErnest Youngman.jpg

Ernest Youngman accused Sean McFly of hiding in trios matches because he is not worthy of a singles rivalry anymore. Sean McFly joined GEW as one of the icons of the North American wrestling industry in the last decades. McFly accepted Youngman's challenge and put his career in GEW on the line in this match. The show opens with Cascada performing the official song of this event with 20+ dancers on the stage in the biggest production in GEW history, when the song is ending Sean McFly makes his entrance and even makes some dance moves that seem a bit cringy for the veteran wrestler he is now, but the crowd is reacting positively to the face of this story, when Ernest Youngman attacks him from behind before the match has even started.

ERNEST YOUNGMAN def. SEAN MCFLY (Rating: 71)

#2: GWA PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

FELIPE CABALLERO ©️ w/ MELODY vs DAVIS WAYNE NEWTON

Felipe Caballero.jpgvs gew.jpgDavis Wayne Newton.jpg

2-time GWA Pacific champion Felipe Caballero vs 2-time GWA Pacific champion Davis Wayne Newton. Newton has constantly said that Melody is too good to be the manager of Felipe. The mexican wrestler has been the underdog in this story, losing the title in his first defence during his first reign, with Newton mocking him. But Felipe won the title at GEW Crossing Borders in a Triple Thread match against Kenny Callway and Newton and finally when they are face to face in the biggest event of the summer Felipe is the current champion.

FELIPE CABALLERO def. DAVIS WAYNE NEWTON (Rating: 74)

#3: GWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

THE SAMOAN PIT BULLS (AKIMA BRAVE & TOMA) ©️ vs DEVIL MAY CARE (ACID II & STUNTMAN)

Akima Brave.jpgToma.jpgvs gew.jpgAcid II.jpgStuntman.jpg

The Samoan Pit Bulls seek their third defence, after defeating Aztec Prince & Dragon Americano at CILL Avalancha and Evan Alpass & Boriken Love Machine Jr at FCW Generation Fire #87. The samoans won the titles at GEW Crossing Borders in a Four Way Tag Team match. Devil May Care are really hot after they've been the allies of Sensational Mark in their feud against The Cobra Club in the past weeks, looking like very strong opponents right now.

THE SAMOAN PIT BULLS def. DEVIL MAY CARE (Rating: 70)

#4: Submission Match

FRANKIE PEREZ vs KIP KEENAN

Frankie Perez.jpgvs gew.jpgKip Keenan.jpg

Frankie Perez and Kip Keenan went to a no contest in Canada at GEW Crossing Borders. There is also an old history between these two, as Kip Keenan defeated Frankie Perez two times during his reign as GWA Pacific champion last year. This time there is a stipulation and we can except a highly technical match with a dramatic ending.

KIP KEENAN def. FRANKIE PEREZ (Rating: 72)

#5:

ROGER CAGE vs VIKTOR BESKOV

Roger Cage.jpgvs gew.jpgViktor Beskov.jpg

Roger Cage and Viktor Beskov meet for the first time in a match between a former GEW Global champion and one of the most menacing wrestlers in the roster.

ROGER CAGE def. VIKTOR BESKOV (Rating: 69)

#6: IF THE OLYMPUS DARK SIDE LOSE THEY HAVE TO DISBAND

THE OLYMPUS DARK SIDE (ALDOUS BLACKFRIAR & LOGAN WOLFSBAINE & SETH WHITEHEAD) vs CHRIS FLYNN & THE TEXAS EXPRESS (COOPER CHRISTIE & TURK TRENNEMAN)

olympus dark.jpgAldous Blackfriar.jpgLogan Wolfsbaine.jpgSeth Whitehead.jpg

vs2 gew.jpg

Chris Flynn.jpgCooper Christie.jpgTurk Trenneman.jpg

The Olympus Dark Side since their formation has been a nightmare for the roster of GEW. One of GEW's CEO Bryan Vessey creations, the faction Head Quarters, although conceived as strong faction (Cooper Christie or Sterlin Whitlock were among the members of the faction) they were unable to stop the heels. The Olympus Dark Side attacked Chris Flynn and that led to a series of matches where their leader Zeus Maxmillion was injured. Chris Flynn didn't give them any letup and with his allies achieved victories over the heel faction. The Olympus Dark Side argued that those were handicap matches and Flynn challenged them to this final match, where The Olympus Dark Side have to disband if they lose.

CHRIS FLYNN & THE TEXAS EXPRESS def. THE OLYMPUS DARK SIDE (Rating: 73)

Pre-Main Event: GEW GLOBAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

SENSATIONAL MARK (STEVEN PARKER & KIRK JAMESON) ©️ vs THE COBRA BOYS (BUSSHO MAKIGUCHI & TSUNEYO YANAGIMOTO) w/ KOSHIRO INO

Steven Parker.jpgKirk Jameson.jpgvs gew.jpgBussho Makiguchi.jpgTsuneyo Yanagimoto.jpg

This is arguably the hottest story happening in GEW right now. The Cobra Club is the creation of "The Cobra" Koshiro Ino, who retired as one of the most successful wrestlers in GEW history to become a manager and launch a faction formed by fellow japanese wrestlers that included Bussho Makiguchi, Tsuneyo Yanagimoto and Stealth Phoenix (Stealth Z & Edo Phoenix IV). Sensational Mark dismissed Koshiro Ino's induction to GEW Hall Of Fame, defending that Perfect Score should have been inducted instead of Ino, that led to a feud between The Cobra Club and Sensational Mark with the GEW Global Tag Team titles in the mix. Sensational Mark are the champions since Summercard III, so they are hours away to reach the 1 year mark, only Long Beach Crew have been able to achieve that. However these two tag teams have only meet one time and the result was a draw at GEW LA Luchahood.

THE COBRA BOYS def. SENSATIONAL MARK (Rating: 77)

Main Event: GEW GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP

NELSON CALLUM ©️ vs MARSHALL DILLON

Nelson Callum.jpgvs gew.jpgimage.jpeg

3-time GEW Global champion Nelson Callum makes his fourth defence during this reign. This is the third part of a trilogy, after Callum defeated Dillon at GEW San Diego Luchahood and in a Submission match at GEW Texas Border, a bitter defeat for Dillon in his home state. The feud started when Dillon said he deserved his first title match after being one of the most dominant forces in GEW since he joined the company, but Callum replied that in fact he was in the Mayhem Battle Royal that he won or in the Six Way Destination match and he didn't take those opportunities he was given.

NELSON CALLUM def. MARSHALL DILLON (Rating: 72)

GEW'S CEO BRYAN VESSEY

POST SUMMERCARD I PRESS CONFERENCE

- This Summercard had Planet Wrestling vibes.

This Summercard IV was amazing. We presented one of the strongest card we've ever presented and then the matches have been great. I also want to thank the people of Wyoming, we set a new attendance record tonight at 25000 and also a PPV buy record with more than 550000 buys. GEW is becoming a real force in the wrestling industry.

- What can you say about Sean McFly's final match tonight?

We created a special opening to the show with dancers and Cascada performing the official song for this event, then McFly made his entrance and Ernest Youngman attacked him from behind. That wasn't the best start for McFly and I think he couldn't recover from that. He's been great for GEW during all the time he stayed with us.

- The Olympus Dark Side disbanded tonight and there are some reports that Zeus Maxmillion could leave the company.

First, The Olympus Dark Side has been one of the best faction in GEW history and is undoubtedly bonded to Zeus Maxmillion. Second part of your question, I'm not going to talk about that tonight, is not the appropriate timing.

ZEUS MAXMILLION LEAVES GEW

Reports which announced that Zeus Maxmillion was set to leave have been confirmed. The Olympus Dark Side leader was injured during a match and has been sidelined for the past weeks. Apparently his contract was terminating and GEW decided it wasn't a good idea to renew the contract of a 45-year-old veteran who could turn too injury prone.

"We want to thank Zeus Maxmillion and we wish him the best for the future. He has helped the younger wrestlers who have taken a step forward under his wing in The Olympus Dark Side. This faction had to finish with his exit, he is the mind behind The Olympus Dark Side and we'll always remember Zeus in GEW as the leader of this faction" said GEW's CEO Bryan Vessey.

GEW was quick to put a lucrative offer preventing the british company to renew his contract. "He has a long way to become a star but he has made an impressive start in his career and we were watching how he evolved in UK. We are very happy to see him develop in GEW" said Bryan Vessey.

GEW Tag Team champions The Cobra Boys won the title against Sensational Mark. Devil May Care have been the best allies to Sensational Mark for the past months in their feud with The Cobra Club faction. These two tag teams already delivered one of the best matches in GEW history at GEW Eclipse, the first time they met in a tag team match, so everyone expects a very strong start when Press Club finish their performance to open the show in another spectacular intro for one of the biggest events in GEW season.

3-time GWA Pacific champion Davis Wayne Newton and 2-time champion Felipe Caballero in another chapter of one of the rivalries of the year. Newton always can pull another trick out of his hat, but Felipe is gaining experience quickly and he is no longer a rookie in GEW, that Newton argument about Felipe not being a champion seems very old, although a few months ago was pure reality.

JOFFY LAINE vs STERLING WHITLOCK w/ ELIZABETH CARTIER

Joffy Laine and Sterling Whitlock had 3 matches last year and the results were 2 wins for Whitlock and 1 draw. Laine wants to be reckon as one of GEW top wrestlers and this is one big step in his climb to the top. Since Sterling Whitlock betrayed his old friends of Head Quarters, which ultimately was one of the main reasons that led to the end of the faction, he has positioned himself as of the stars in the company, with the invaluable help of his manager Elizabeth Cartier.

The former (and longer) GEW Global champion Roger Cage and the brutal Viktor Beskov go for the third march, after Cage won at GEW Summercard and Beskov won at GEW Eclipse. 1-1. Who will finish on top?

CHRIS FLYNN vs ERNEST YOUNGMAN

To say that this match could be the Main Event of any event in any company is probably too obvious, but it could. Chris Flynn defeated Youngman 3 times in Season 1. That was 3 years ago and Youngman has developed to become a true star and Flynn is no longer the GEW Global champion as he was the three times they faced. Do you think when Youngman challenged Flynn he had all these things in mind? Maybe he just doesn't like heroes as he said, a status Flynn probably reached for many fans after he ended The Olympus Dark Side's reign of terror in GEW.

Main Event: GEW GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP (Cage Match)

NELSON CALLUM ©️ vs KIP KEENAN

3-time GEW Global champion Nelson Callum in his seventh defence during this reign. Kip Keenan is one of the top babyfaces in the company and his recent more patriotic stance has captivated many fans, calling himself "the greatest american wrestler".  Callum's merits in GEW are well known among the fans, but Kip Keenan's status in the company, although is recognized as one of the stars in GEW, probably is a little bit underrated. Not every fan knows that Kip Keenan is undefeated in singles competition in 2023, but what really went under the radar is the fact that he hasn't lost a  singles match since GEW San Diego Luchahood III, that is May 2022. This includes a match against Callum which went to a no contest at GEW Unforgettable Summer III in August 2022. That means Kip Keenan hasn't lost a singles match in one and a half year. Callum defeated Keenan 3 times in Season 1, but that was a long time ago, or that is what his fans say. Kip Keenan is arguably the hottest wrestler in GEW and is facing the best in the history of the company in a cage match. What more could you ask for?

POST ELECTRIC CAGE I PRESS CONFERENCE

Kip Keenan.jpgBryan Vessey.jpgDavis Wayne Newton.jpg

Bryan Vessey: Thank you for coming. As always I want to start with the numbers. 25000 tickets for a sold out here in Spokane. More than 600000 PPV buys, that is just behind Eclipse IV, this is great news for us. We have a new GEW Global champion here with me and also a 3-time champion, they are ready for your questions.

- Congratulations on your title match win, Kip. How does it feel to be the fifth man in four seasons to win the GEW Global championship?

Kip Keenan: This is a happy night for me, for all America. The lesson is there are struggles, difficulties, obstacles. You can overcome all of them, if you have the will, if you fight, if you are constant. This is the message I want to give to America. We did it. With the fans, together, we'll make this reign one to remember for the ages.

- Nelson Callum was the final boss?

Kip Keenan: There is no final boss. There is always another opponent that is going to step up. Callum was the champion, 3-time champion in fact, but last time we met it was a draw, I knew I am a better wrestler than last year and much better than 4 years ago when I debuted in GEW, so I was confident. Everyone is going to try to take this belt off my hands, I know, but I'm going to prove that I am the greatest american wrestler in our generation.

- Davis, right here. Is this the end of your rivalry with Felipe Caballero?

Davis Wayne Newton: Rivalry? Are you serious? We are not on the same level, we are on different pages! I'm the only 3-time GWA Pacific champion! I don't have to prove anything else to Felipe or his manager Melody. It's pretty clear by now that I'm much better, everyone knows it.

TRENT SHAFFER IS GEW!

GEW has completed one of the most important signings in the history of the company: Trent Shaffer joins GEW.

38-year-old Shaffer has signed a 4 year contract worth $130000 per month. Shaffer left SWF after spending there the last 2 years. GEW had to compete with TCW, CWA, EILL and OLLIE and it is said the offer wasn't as lucrative as some of the others but one of the keys was the long-term commitment with a extension of 4 years that GEW put on the table.

GEW's CEO Bryan Vessey: "Today we made a statement. We are ready to play in the big leagues. We want to be there. Trent is now one of our guys. He is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world. He is a fantastic worker. We couldn't be happier".

Trent Shaffer: "I'm taking a step that some may consider risky but I am ready to be the go to guy, the franchise player. We are going to take this company to the next level".

Those FCW Tag titles have had a rough history. Is that the third time this diary they're been vacated?

Yes, you're correct. They've been a nightmare for FCW.

The first time was when GEW bought FCW, because I decided to fire part of the FCW roster, one of them was Carlos Gonzalez who was tag team champion with Kid San Juan at the time.

Second time Jungle Lord got injured when he and Clark Alexander were the champions.
