BREAKING NEWS!!!

In news which was confirmed by our sources, we have learnt that GCW has been purchased by the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley.

GCW had been on a downward spiral ever since they ran the Hammerstein show in 2022 which was a disaster so to speak of and since then, one or the other controversy has embroiled the promotion which was considered the king of Indies prior to that.

Mick Foley was a long time fan of the promotion and even made some appearances for the promotion but he couldn't bear to see it in so much distress and instead quickly prepared his ground for the takeover. Brett Lauderdale is expected to continue as the CMO of the company considering the enormous work he had done in the marketing department while Foley is expected to take over the CEO duties including the booking.

From our phone call with Foley, we got basically the following points:

1.  GCW will continue it's April schedule as was decided earlier which would basically be the culmination of the existing storylines.

2. GCW will have major announcements regarding their various brands and it is expected to be announced by the end of April.

3. Multiple new championship belts are expected to be introduced to the company.

4. Foley has indicated that he is intending to build GCW into a cult phenomenon, in the veins of ECW or FMW and the long term plans include a regular TV Show but that would come at a much later stage when the time is ripe which we don't know when it would be.

We will soon have other news regarding this cracking development and those of GCW fans who had drifted apart from the organization, rejoice because the Hardcore Legend is now in helm and he promises big things.

The Hammerstein was indeed a disaster in terms of the booking (Outsiders having major matches and going over to the home grown talent) so a somewhat new direction could be interesting though. Sure it's all fantasy and made to have fun but I hope it will still be GCW as the grungy Indy as f*ck promotion and not something completely new. You can say everything you want to Lauderdale but he has a insanely good (and over) crop of home grown talent with unique characters so they should be pushed and should have the main attention.

The small matchcard is anything but GCW but let's see where it goes from here.

East West Express

The home grown will always be at the center of the promotion. It's just that i want to do some things differently in GCW but otherwise they will always be the cult promotion that is loved so much. The smaller shows are designed to warm up to the storylines that i am trying to run and getting the handle on the promotion and the bigger cards will come into play from May onwards.

Scramble Match

Tony Deppen vs Latigo vs Starboy Charlie vs 2 Cold Scorpio

The first scramble match in the Foley era was a lot of fun with Charlie and Latigo going crazy with their bumps and 2 Cold Scorpio hitting planchas and swanton bombs while smoking but in the end, it was the GCW gatekeeper, Tony Deppen who fought his way to a win when he submitted Latigo with a tight Sleeper.

Winner: Tony Deppen

Grade: 44

GCW Extreme Title

image.jpegimage.pngimage.jpeg

Joey Janela (c) vs Jimmy Lloyd

The contest was impressive with both of them selling other's moves quite well. Janela got sent through multiple doors while he himself hit a crossbody and reverse canadian destroyer which looked like it has caused concussion in Lloyd's head but then both rose up and everybody was relieved. Lloyd swung a bat which he had taken from the crowd which was ducked by Janela before he hit his Moonsault Foot Stomp to end this one.

Winner: Joey Janela (defense #5)

Grade: 50

GCW Tag Team Titles

East West Express (c) vs Sawyer Wreck/Billie Starkz

Four young wrestlers who would someday be the future of this business showed their true skills in a dazzling match.

Sawyer and Jordan traded quick reversals to open. Starkz and Wayne also traded quick reversals and had a standoff. Starkz dove through the ropes onto Wayne while in the ring, Wayne hit his running Shooting Star Press on Sawyer. Jordan hit a running powerbomb on Starkz for a close two while Wreck almost took off the head of Wayne with a sick DDT.

Everyone hit their dives on the floor which stalled the match a bit. Wayne hit a handspring-back-stunner on Sawyer and then teamed up with Jordan to hit a team Clout Cutter on Sawyer to pin her.

Winner: East West Express (defense #1)

Grade: 21

Singles Match

image.jpegimage.pngimage.jpeg

Calvin Tankman vs Homicide

They opened with some mat wrestling. Tankman hit a shoulder tackle sending Homicide to the floor. Tankman teased a dive to the floor, but quickly got down and they traded hard chops on the floor.

In the ring, they continued to trade more chops. Homicide hit a suplex that popped the crowd and earned a “holy shit!” chant. Tankman countered with a pop-up spinning back fist, and they were both down. Tankman went for a second-rope flying crossbody block, but Homicide moved and Tankman crashed.

Tankman hit a backbreaker over his knee and a short-arm clothesline, then a pumphandle sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall. Tankman climbed the ropes, but Homicide hit an enziguri. He tried for the Gringo Killa but couldn't lift Tankman and the Heavyweight Hustle instead hit the Tankman Driver for a hard fought win.

Winner: Calvin Tankman

Grade: 45

Post match. Tankman grabbed a mic and put forward his candidature for the GCW World Title.

GCW World Title Deathmatch

image.jpegimage.pngimage.jpeg

Masha Slamovich (c) vs Nick Gage

She unloaded a flurry of kicks early on. Gage stumbled across the ring; He hit a belly-to-belly suplex at 2:30 and took control, and he hit some bodyslams. He held her upside down for 20 seconds before slamming her for a near fall. He hit some forearms. Masha fired up and hit some chops of her own. They hit simultaneous clotheslines and were both went down. They got up and traded forearm shots, he hit a running elbow drop, and he stomped on her head in the corner. They brawled to the floor, with Gage in complete control, choking her against the guardrail. She fired up and hit some punches and forearms, and whipped him into the ring post. They got in the ring, and Masha whipped a chair at his head busting him open.

He hit a chokeslam over his knee for a nearfall. They traded more forearm shots. Masha hit an Air Raid Crash into the corner onto a chair for a believable nearfall. Masha hit a mid-ring piledriver, then a second one, for another nearfall. She hit a Shining Wizard and she applied a rear-naked choke but Gage somehow got out of it and then hit the Chokebreaker. NEW CHAMPION!!!!

Winner: Nick Gage (new champion)

Grade: 50

Gage got on the mic and said he’s “the realest motherf—er in the locker room, but now, he has found another one and raised Masha's hand. The crowd chanted, “You deserve it!” Masha got on the mic and said she was happy to hold the title for the last few months and she will again work her way to this title.

Nice debut show, bro. Gage is now a 4x time champ, right? One away from tying Sandman's ECW record 😜

Yes he is. This is perhaps his last run considering how broken down he is but will see how it goes.

Scramble Match

Alec Price vs CPA vs Gringo Loco vs Shane Mercer

Alec Price won the second scramble match when he pinned CPA with a small package. Shane Mercer lived up to it's billing as the strongest man in GCW when he handed out powerbombs to everyone and Price took the advantage of it.

Winner: Alec Price

Grade: 37

Trios Match

KUSHIDA_alt2.jpgAlex Shelley_alt.jpgChris Sabin.jpgimage.pngHijo del Vikingo.jpgCiclope_DTU.jpgMiedo Xtremo.jpg

Time Machine (KUSHIDA/Motor City Machine Guns) vs Hijo del Vikingo/Los Mazisos

Los Mazisos are GCW legends having been 3 times Tag Team champions and a mainstay of the company in the past few years. They were tagging with Vikingo who had been impressive in his American appearances. On the other hand was the re-united Time Machine who were coming off a hot feud in Impact and they were now ready to rock the indies.

KUSHIDA and Vikingo began the action as Vikingo hits KUSHIDA with a back elbow before hitting a shoulder tackle. Ciclope tags in and KUSHIDA delivers a knee. Shelley tags in and hits a back breaker before it breaks from there and we see all six men entering the ring with ref having a hard time to control.

Miedo delivers a chop to Sabin and delivers a reverse stunner to Sabin. He goes for a pin, but Sabin kicks out. Ciclope delivers a Side Russian Leg Sweep. He goes for a pin, but Shelley and KUSHIDA break it up. Sabin makes the hot tag to KUSHIDA and he takes down Miedo with a springboard back elbow before Time Machine delivers some triple offense to Vikingo and then Kushida hit Ciclope with the Midnight Express who was tagged in.

Winner: Time Machine

Grade: 57

GCW Tag Team Titles

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.pngAllie Kat.jpgEffy.jpg

East West Express (c) vs BUSSY

BUSSY was looking for their second GCW Tag Titles and in this first time match-up, we got a very weak one as BUSSY's obnoxious energy didn't mesh well with the fast pace of the champs. Effy sent Wayne to the floor and the fight went outside. Oliver and Wayne performed a double dive after being sent back to the ring. Katch slammed Wayne on the apron and then attempted a pinfall back in the ring but it didn't work.

Wayne tagged in Oliver and they attempted the Clout Cutter but couldn't as Katch slapped the hell out of Wayne and Oliver.  Effy caught Oliver with a knee on his chin before Allie hit the piledriver to win. NEW CHAMPION!!!!

Winner: BUSSY (new champion)

Grade: 30

As BUSSY were celebrating with crowd strongly behind the new champs, we get another huge pop as

Alex Shelley_alt.jpgChris Sabin.jpg

MCMG walked into the scene. They grabbed the mic and congratulated BUSSY before saying that they had seen a career revival in recent times, winning the Impact Tag Team titles and current NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team champions and so they would like to add the GCW Tag Team Title to their collection. Crowd gave their roar of approval before both teams shook hands but Effy would not let the moment go just like that as he planted a wet kiss on Shelley to disgust him.

GCW Extreme Title

Joey Janela.jpgimage.pngZack Ryder.jpg

Jory Janela (c) vs Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona had been in a major career upliftment in the past couple of years ever since he left WWE and he built his name mainly in Impact and here in GCW. The feud with Janela which also involved his wife Chelsea Green was the hottest storyline for quite some time and it was Cardona who had come out the better. Crowd was pumped to see them reprise the feud.

Cardona once again riled the crowd and abused them, riling them up and goading Janela into beating him. Janela thought he will create the maximum impact and hit him in the family jewels and instantly went down, grabbing his hand. Cardona revealed the cup he was wearing, just like in their Hammerstein match last year and pointed towards his head, screaming that he will always be smarter than Janela. He choked Janela with the cup before hitting the Rough Ryder for a very quick pin but Janela kicked out. He then threw a chair at Janela's face before the champ recovered and hit a superplex off the top rope before going on an offensive flurry. He busted Cardona's nose before hitting him with a shoulder block through a door and finally the Moonsault Foot Stamp to win. He had avenged his last loss and was ready to move on.

Winner: Joey Janela (defense #6)

Grade: 53

GCW World Title No Rope Barbed Wire Deathmatch

image.jpegimage.pngMatt Tremont.jpg

Nick Gage (c) vs Matt Tremont

Just a week removed from Gage winning the GCW title for the 4th time in his career against Masha, Gage was putting his title on the line against arguably his best friend and long time partner, Matt Tremont with whom he reformed the H8 Club on the Hammerstein show last year and since then they had held the Tag Team Titles twice. So, it was a given that the first defense for Gage would be this man.

The match is an immense bloodbath, and so much more than just that. The early light tube smashing dick contest went as expected, with both men covered from head to toe in blood within a few minutes, and it gives the rest of the match a much grander feel. Tremont begins to win out as this all goes on, because he’s bigger, stronger, and younger. Gage again benefits from experience as he shoves Tremont off the top to a table outside. Tremont shakes the rust and chokes Gage with the barbed wire bat and then repeatedly hit him with the same.

He then brings in a horrific tower of light tubes. He tried to go for the Superbomb but Gage somehow in a last show of power reversed it and Superbomb Tremont through it to win the match.

gage vs tremont.gif

Winner: Nick Gage (defense #1)

Grade: 61

After the match had ended, Gage and Tremont hug it out before they raise their hands together. On the ramp though comes

image.jpeg

Tankman shouts at Gage that he has still not answered the Heavyweight Hustle's challenge and he will not need any fancy contraptions to beat Gage, he will kill him with his bare hands. Gage says you are on and on Find You Again from White Eagle Hall, Gage will be ready.

Scramble Match

Jimmy Lloyd vs Jack Cartwheel vs Gringo Loco vs Cole Radrick

Jimmy Lloyd went back to winning ways as he hit the Fire Thunder Driver on Gringo Loco to win. Gringo loses his second consecutive Scramble match and goes further down the pecking order. Cartwheel performed well.

Winner: Jimmy Lloyd

Grade: 24

Tag Match

Ciclope_DTU.jpgMiedo Xtremo.jpgimage.pngSteve Manders_alt2.jpgMatthew Justice.jpg

Los Mazisos vs Second Gear Crew

Los Mazisos took out their opponents with a series of dives to start the match, and they all continued to brawl on the floor. Manders made a comeback when he started beating Ciclope mercilessly on the floor while Miedo was setting up the ladder. Justice saw an opening and cracked a chair on the back of Miedo creating a hard dent on the piece of furniture but Miedo still went ahead and finished setting up the door between two smaller ladders.

Ciclope and Manders started to exchange some blows before Ciclope went to look for more weaponry to use, SGC dragged him up on the ring and laid him out on the door, but he fought back and took control and punched Justice on the face when he stumbled on to a reappeared Miedo as he sent Justice packing through the setup with a Death Valley Driver. He then hit a running Stunner on Manders before hitting the Death Valley Driver to him as well on the unforgiving ladder that brought the Mexicans the win.

Winner: Los Mazisos

Grade: 29

GCW Tag Team Titles

Allie Kat.jpgEffy.jpgimage.pngAlex Shelley_alt.jpgChris Sabin.jpg

BUSSY (c) vs Motor City Machine Guns

The Guns came out first to a huge pop. Shelley hit a dragon screw leg whip on Allie. Effy tied Sabin in a surfboard. All four brawled and traded forearm shots. The Guns hit simultaneous superkicks. Effy dove through the ropes to the floor on everyone. He then charged at Sabin but he moved and Effy crashed.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Shelley hit a spinning slam on Allie and the other two joined in the ring. Shelley put in a sleeper on Allie but somehow she managed to make a tag to Effy who started a series of chopping duel with Shelley and then put his hands inside his trunk and started masturbating as Shelly started chopping hard which disgusted Shelley and he kicked him in the face. Allie was clotheslined by Sabin and he followed up with a Scoop Slam. With the champions down, it was ripe for Made in Detroit but then,

Zack Ryder.jpgCurt Hawkins.jpg

Cardona and Myers, the Major Players come rushing through the crowd and in the ring and blasted Guns with good old brass knuckles as Effy saw the opening and covered Sabin for the 1...2...3.

Winner: BUSSY (defense #1)

Grade: 44

Post match we saw Major Players laughing their heart out. They have feuding in Impact throughout the month and this was a natural way to extend the rivalry.

GCW Ultraviolent Title Lego Blocks Deathmatch

Rina Yamashita.jpgimage.pngJohn Wayne Murdoch.jpg

Rina Yamashita (c) vs John Wayne Murdoch

Yamashita and Murdoch locked up as the match got underway. Yamashita took John down with a headlock. Both wrestlers hit each other with Lego blocks at the same time. Yamashita placed a bundle of blocks in the center of the ring and put herself through them. Yamashita invited John to do the same thing but he just laughed. The champ got angry and he busted a tube bundle on Murdoch.

She then used a piece of the broken tube to carve John's forehead and then stomped his head into a steel chair on the canvas. Both wrestlers exchanged forearm strikes in the center of the ring. Yamashita connected with a DDT. John responded by spearing Yamashita through a pane of Lego Blocks in the corner. The challenger hit two tubes over Yamashita's head and then hammered a metal plate into forehead.

John continued to dominate the fight on the outside. Yamashita turned the tables after bodyslamming John onto the wooden floor and then launched a bundle of tubes at John. She finished up with the Splash Mountain to eke out a successful defense.

  Winner: Rina Yamashita (defense #6)

Grade: 50

Singles Match

Kota Ibushi_alt5.jpgimage.pngHijo del Vikingo.jpg

Kota Ibushi vs El Hijo del Vikingo

Kota got a brief advantage after some kicks, but Vikingo returned fire with a rope-rebound kick of his own. He stumbled on a double springboard but recovered to land a tope suicida. Ibushi recovered and then landed an Orihara moonsault to the floor.  Ibushi kept up the attack with an arm-trap German, He climbed the ropes again, but Vikingo popped up and brought Ibushi crashing down with a superplex. They fought on the apron, where Vikingo charged at Ibushi -- but Ibushi moved out of the way, sending Vikingo face-first into the ring post.

Vikingo fired back with overhand chops. They had a long multiple-minute chop exchange until Vikingo came back with a black hole slam and running knees through the ropes before concluding the run with a shooting star press off the apron.

Back inside the ring, Vikingo hit two Death Valley drivers, but Ibushi kicked out at one. They traded forearms until Ibushi finally stopped the exchange with a suplex. Vikingo returned fire with a German, but Ibushi hit one of his own. Simultaneous clothesline attempts led to the double down.

Ibushi laid in a flurry of strikes, his classic strike combination. Vikingo hit a standing moonsault and landed a lariat followed by a package piledriver for two. He laid in repeated thrust kicks, but Ibushi cut him off with a running knee before hitting the Kamigoye for the win.

Winner: Kota Ibushi

GCW Tag Team Titles

Allie Kat.jpgEffy.jpgimage.pngKasey Catal.jpgBrandon Kirk.jpg

BUSSY (c) vs The Kirks

Kasey and Allie was pretty violent with each other, resuming their rivalry they had last year as both smashed each other through bundles and with chairs. While Brandon was much more straightforward with Effy who tried using his mind games but the ICW American Deathmatch Champion would have none of it, instead using a staple gun on Effy's groin and relishing his pain. He smashed a couple of beer bottles on his head and then sent him through a table with a release German.

Allie meanwhile had covered having gotten the better of Kasey and she came back to the ring and then after a couple of elbow exchanges, she hits the Rainmaker Headbutt to defend.

Winner: BUSSY (defense #2)

Grade: 41

Singles Match

Hijo del Vikingo.jpgimage.pngimage.jpeg

El Hijo del Vikingo vs Homicide

Vikingo was the aggressor as Homicide had slowed down a bit due to years of wear and tear and Vikingo took advantage of it, hitting some lethal kicks, particularly his signature rope rebound one. Another chop exchange happened but Homicide surprised everyone by curb stomping Vikingo and hitting the Gringo Killa but Vikingo somehow managed to stop it and then came back strongly with couple of roundhouses before a 630 Senton settled this one.

Winner: El Hijo del Vikingo

Grade: 39

GCW Extreme Title

Joey Janela.jpgimage.pngimage.jpeg

Joey Janela (c) vs Nick Wayne

Janela taunted Wayne, calling him an undeserved spoilt son of a bitch and slapped him repeatedly which infuriated Nick and he broke into his speedy offense with lots of kicks, sentons and ranas. He even tried a single Clout Cutter but Janela caught him in mid-air and delivered a Death Valley Driver.

With Janela startled by Nick's offense, it was now his turn to get angry as he made Nick's head a punching bag repeatedly punching him and then finished with the Moonsault Foot Stomp.

  Winner: Joey Janela (defense #7)

Grade: 36

Trios Match

KUSHIDA_alt2.jpgAlex Shelley_alt.jpgChris Sabin.jpgimage.pngZack Ryder.jpgCurt Hawkins.jpgimage.jpeg

Time Machine (KUSHIDA/Motor City Machine Guns) vs Major Players/Mike Bailey

Time Machine reunited again after Paranoid and this time it was against Major Players who had attacked the Guns in the last show. Bailey was tagging along with Cardona and Myers and we got a high energy match with all six taking the fight all over the arena.

Kushida delivers brutal knee to Myers while Bailey delivers the Ultima Weapon to Shelley but couldn't get the three count as Sabin came back to foil the attempt. A Rough Ryder attempt was broken down by Kushida who trapped Cardona into a Cattle Mutilation but Myers then came back for the save. With many pinfalls and counters going on, it was finally Shelley who won it for his team when he submitted Bailey with the Border City Stretch.

Winner: Time Machine

Grade: 47

GCW World Title

Nick Gage (c) vs Calvin Tankman

Tankman grabs a side headlock as they stayed on the deck, but Gage ends up grabbing a leg as they continued to go hold-for-hold.

A cross arm breaker from Tankman almost gets a pin, but Gage kicks out and found himself in a key lock as Tankman worked the arm. They quickly escalate into chops, which had Gage wanting more, before he faked out a chop and poked Tankman in the eye. The pair headed towards the corner, where Tankman threw Gage back into the ring before a mini pounce drew a near-fall.

Forearms from Tankman keep Gage bouncing off the mat, ahead of a grounded armbar that stretched the champ some more. More forearms wear him down, who brings back the chops… and ends up getting chopped to the outside. Gage returns to drag Tankman to the outside, but Calvin quickly responds with a running crossbody as the pair again slugged it out on the mat.

Gage had enough of trying to out-wrestle Tankman and he brought his A-game back, as he surprised Tankman with a powerslam for a near-fall. A clothesline and a dropkick to the knee was enough to lock in the STF but Gage had other ideas as he revealed the pizza cutter and carved Tankman's forehead which horrified the Heavyweight Hustle and Gage saw the opening as he hit the Chokebreaker.

Winner: Nick Gage (defense #2)

Grade: 56

Tag Scramble Match

InJustice vs The Kirks vs Jack Cartwheel/Jimmy Lloyd vs 2 Cold Scorpio/Alec Price

We got an InJustice reunion as Reed and Oliver dominated the tag scramble with Reed finishing this off with a Sky Walker on Price.

Winner: InJustice

Grade: 47

Tag Team Match

Ciclope_DTU.jpgMiedo Xtremo.jpgimage.pngMatt Tremont.jpgimage.jpeg

Los Mazisos vs Club Tremont (Matt Tremont/Marcus Mathers)

This was the first time that Matt Tremont was tagging with his protege and he had started a faction with Mathers and CPA. But the Mexicans were in no mood to play loose as they isolated Mathers and beat him like a ragdoll. Even Tremont could not save his protege as he was knocked out pretty hard after a double barbed wire con-chair-to. Miedo submitted Mathers with a barbed wire bat aided crossface.

Winner: Los Mazisos

Grade: 30

Tag Team Match

Steve Manders_alt2.jpgMatthew Justice.jpgimage.pngimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Second Gear Crew vs IronBeast

Iron Beast was back in GCW after almost a year. The team of KTB and Shane Mercer went toe to toe with the most premier faction of the company and their strength was enough to overpower their opponents and Mercer pulled off one of the most impressive stunts, double chokeslamming Manders and Justice.

But in the end, it was SGC who came back with Justice Death Valley Drivering KTB for the win.

Winner: Second Gear Crew

Grade: 47

SGC was celebrating in the ring when we see Brett Lauderdale coming up on the ramp. He screamed and cussed the audience for supporting Foley while he was taking over the company and leaving Lauderdale alone to live off the scraps. He has seen it all and he is very disappointed about it, but he is a visionary and so what he can build, he can build again

Out of nowhere, three figures emerge from the crowd..................................

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

It's AKIRA, JWM and Reed Bentley, the Rejects!!! They beat the living sh** out of Second Gear Crew. Lauderdale lets out a maniacal laugh as he mentions that he has found his new loyalists and they are taking over.

Singles Match

Alex Shelley_alt.jpgimage.pngZack Ryder.jpg

Alex Shelley vs Matt Cardona

Once the bell rang, Cardona tried to stall and made everyone wait for the action. He doesn’t wrestle work-rate matches, he just wants to get paid. He even tried to sabotage the match with a WCW Bash at the Beach finish because he didn’t want to wrestle. Shelley wasn’t buying it and clawed Cardona’s balls then his mouth, in that order.

The match got more competitive and the droning pace picked up to give us an entertaining match where everyone wanted to see Cardona get his ass kicked by Shelley. Cardona, to his credit, did his absolute best to keep Shelley trapped and worn down but eventually, that plan failed and Shelley lit him the hell up. No matter what Cardona did, Shelley wouldn’t stay down. But finally Matt found a way to hit a low blow and finished up with the Rough Ryder to pull off a shock win.

  Winner: Matt Cardona

Grade: 52

GCW Ultraviolent Title Chains of Fury Deathmatch

Rina Yamashita.jpgimage.pngimage.jpeg

Rina Yamashita (c) vs AKIRA

AKIRA towers over her and has a huge weight advantage too. They are chained together and immediately hit each other with light tubes and gusset plates. They both were bleeding heavily early on. She grabbed him in the groin. He hit a package piledriver for a near fall.

He put her on his shoulders and flipped her onto a glass pane but only got a one-count. She hit a Death Valley Driver and got a near fall. They couldn't go very far as both were tied together so they used clothesline to rough each other up and then Rina finally managed to grab the key and unlocked herself and then hit 3 consecutive gusset plate shots to AKIRA before hitting the Splash Mountain and mouthed F**k you Reject.

Winner: Rina Yamashita (defense #7)

Grade: 47

Singles Match

Kota Ibushi_alt5.jpgimage.pngimage.jpeg

Kota Ibushi vs Mike Bailey

Kota was making full use of his US stay and he was wrestling dream match after dream match. This felt like a perfect NJPW bout, a hard hitting, strong style match and the crowd lapped it up. Bailey started strong and his barrage of kicks to Kota's body startled the former NJPW man and he was playing second fiddle for the majority of the match but he moved out of the Ultima Weapon and then started his comeback.

Some nasty elbow strikes aside, Kota hit a shiranui and then a running knee strike before peppering Bailey with leg kicks of his own. He finished the bout with the Kamigoye

Winner: Kota Ibushi

Grade: 60

Post-match, Ibushi waved to the crowd and then he said that his time in US is coming to an end shortly so before living this wonderful organization, he would like to wrestle one last match, for the GCW World Title against Nick Gage....!!!

Nick Gage comes out and crowd erupts. He says he respects Kota too much but the match of this magnitude needs a matching event and so Kota vs Gage for the GCW World Title will be the main event for the biggest event of summer, Cage of Survival!!!!

The first month of Foley's GCW regime went well with GCW putting in 5 shows.  With 2 new champs crowned, it was an eventful month. We had a sit-down interview with Mick Foley and following are the excerpts from the interview:

- The recent run-in of Rejects led by Brett Lauderdale added to the excitement and the company is planning a long-term storyline between GCW and Rejects.

- He had some words about JCW and we got to know that JCW will function as a separate brand which will act more like a developmental territory with up and comers getting a chance. It will house it's own championships. While it already has the JCW Championship which is currently held by Jordan Oliver, GCW Extreme Championship will be exclusive to JCW and the brand will soon crown it's Tag Team Champions in the event titled Bloodbowl which will be an annual tag team tournament trophy. Further details will be shared soon.

- Going ahead, both GCW and JCW will have several monthly events. While the Cage of Survival will be the big event for May, GCW will hold two more events in May but all focus will be on Cage of Survival and the main event between Kota Ibushi and Nick Gage.

We will soon have other news regarding this cracking development and those of GCW fans who had drifted apart from the organization, rejoice because the Hardcore Legend is now in helm and he promises big things.
