The World's most prestigious and glorified wrestling organisation is facing the biggest threat to its dominance in the form of the billionaire-backed World Championship wrestling, who have signed two of the WWF's big attractions in Kevin Hall and Scott Nash. Added to this is Bret Hart being out for an indeterminate amount of time, and the man who Vince McMahon appeared ready to strap a rocket to (Ahmed Johnson) now being sidelined for a period of five months, following an attack by the debuting Faarooq Assad. WWF hopes in the immediate term appear to lie heavily on the shoulders of their current champion, Shawn Michaels in the hope he can bring out the best in much larger adversaries such as Vader, Sycho Sid and The Undertaker. Shawn Michaels is the current World Champion, with his reign beginning at WrestleMania following his Iron Man victory over Bret Hart. He is currently involved in a feud with Vader who is unbetean since his arrival from WCW. .......... The Intercontinental Championship is vacant following Ahmed Johnson's long-term injury. .......... Downbeat, McMahon announces that unfortunately due to injuries sustained at the hands of the debuting Faarooq Assad, Ahmed Johnson would be missing for a sustained period of time and has had to vacate his Intercontinental Championship. However, McMahon announces that he has some good news to bring the fans….before he can make his announcement, Faarooq Assad makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Sunny and The Smoking Gunns. Assad in a foul mood grabs the microphone from McMahon and demands that he is put into a match for the vacant championship, given it was him who “defeated” the previous champion. McMahon visibly agitated and showing more aggressive tendences than seen to date on television, yanks the back the microphone from Assad. “You will be in a match! There will be a 16 man tournament, culminating at SummerSlam to crown a new Intercontinental Champion. You will be in your first round match tonight…against Billy Gunn”. Assad turns to look at Billy Gunn with a particularly fierce scowl, with Gunn clearly perturbed. ………. Intercontinental Championship – Last 16 Match Rocky Maivia makes his way to the ring to a mixed reception as the first entrant to the tournament. He is criticised on commentary by Jerry Lawler as not having a chance in the tournament. Jim Ross is just about to rebuke The King before the next entrant’s music hits….and it’s Lawler himself! The match is fairly even for the most part, before Lawler starts to look like he is going to finish it. Unfortunately, he gets distracted by a particularly attractive big bosomed female in the front row, enabling Rocky to hit the running shoulder breaker for the win. Outcome: Rocky Maivia wins by pinfall. ………. Michaels and Camp Cornette Angle The WWF Champion Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring and begins to cut a promo on Camp Cornette and his forthcoming SummerSlam match against Vader. Michaels states he recently defeated the Bulldog and is now set to take down the real Big Dog of the group, and banish Camp Cornette to the history books. Michaels gets no further before he is interrupted by the entirety of Camp Cornette making their way to the ring. Cornette gets on the mic, berating Michael’s manhood, claiming pretty boys have no place in the ring with a man such as Vader and he will find this out the hard way in a few weeks’ time. The mic is soon passed to Owen Hart who claims that Michaels won the title by beating the lesser of the two Harts at WrestleMania. Owen states he’s put Michaels on the shelf once and will do it again, given the opportunity. Michaels clearly riled, snaps back at Hart, “I will beat your ass in this very ring tonight, on the stipulation that if I beat you, you are banned from ringside at SummerSlam”. Before Hart can speak, Cornette jumps in agreeing to the match. ………. Intercontinental Championship – Last 16 Match Jeff Jarrett makes his way to the ring, followed by a surprise entrance of Yokozuna to the tournament. In an evenly matched encounter, Yokozuna gained the victory following a mistake from Jarrett which enabled Yokozuna to set up and then execute the Bonzai Drop. Outcome: Yokozuna wins by pinfall. .......... Austin Announces He Is in the tournament The glass shatters and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin makes his way to the ring to a chorus of boos. Austin insults to crowd and says he is going to make this short and sweet. “I kicked everyone’s sorry ass in the King of the Ring, and I will be doing the same to every sorry jackass that enters the intercontinental tournament. At SummerSlam, you’re looking at the next Intercontinental Champion, and that’s the bottom line…’cause Stone Cold said so”. .......... Intercontinental Championship – Last 16 Match In an unusual occurrence, both competitors come to the ring at the same time, presumably to show some form of solidarity. Assad and Billy Gunn are flanked by Bart and Sunny. The encounter is fairly one-sided with Assad exerting his dominance from the first bell. After a prolonged beating, Assad sets up and delivers a devasting dominator for the three count. Bart gets into the ring to attend to Billy, whereas Sunny attempts to give Assad a hug, which is swiftly shrugged off. Outcome: Assad wins by pinfall. .......... Intercontinental Championship – Last 16 Match Hunter and Yankem have a fairly even match, until Hunter hits a low blow with the refs back turned, enabling him to hit the pedigree and pick up the win. Outcome: Hunter Hearts Helmsley wins by pinfall. ………. The Undertaker vs Goldust Tho two men square off at the start of the match, until Goldust attempts to kiss the Undertaker and is met with a swift uppercut. After 17 solid minutes, the Undertaker delivers a chokeslam and sets up Goldust for the tombstone, until his legs are taken from under him. MANKIND IS ATTACKING THE UNDERTAKER! The Undertaker momentarily recovers and the two begin exchanging vicious blows. The action spills out into the crowd and the two trade blows until they go down the concourses in the stands and out of view. Outcome: Undertaker wins by DQ .......... Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart Owen Hart makes his way to the ring, accompanied by British Bulldog and Jim Cornette. In an exceptional match, Michaels had gained the upperhand approximately 18 minutes in and start tuning up to deliver Sweet Chin Music…..until Jim Cornette jumps up onto the ring apron to distract the referee, he is yanked off the ring apron by Jose Lothario, who is in turn levelled by a clothesline from the British Bulldog. Seeing what is happening on the outside, Michaels exits the ring and starts brawling with the British Bulldog. This brings Vader out from the back, and Michaels is quickly outnumbered by Hart, Bulldog and Vader, with Michaels receiving a sustained beating and being the victim of three Vader bombs. Not giving McMahon the chance to ask questions, Michaels grabs the microphone. “Camp Cornette….last week you had a 3 on 1 advantage, and you still couldn’t get the job done and put me out of action. In just under 2 weeks time, it will be 1 on 1, me against the man they call Vader…. Before Michaels can get any further, Vader’s theme hits and he makes his way to the ring accompanied by Jim Cornette. McMahon is frantically calling for security, who line the centre of the ring cutting it in two with Vader and Michaels on opposite sides. Cornette cuts a promo calling Vader the biggest bully in the World of Wrestling and at SummerSlam, Vader will turn Michaels upside down and shake him for his World Title…and there isn’t anything Michaels or anyone else in the World of Wrestling can do about it… .......... Intercontinental Tournament – Last 16 Marc Mero and Crush take part in tonight’s first Last 16 contest as they seek a place in the quarter finals, set to take place next week on Raw. In a rather low-key event, Marc Mero scored a pinfall victory after hitting the TKO. Outcome: Mero wins by pinfall .......... Goldust and Mankind Interview In perhaps one of Wrestling’s more bizarre partnerships, Goldust with Marlena, is teamed up with Mankind tonight to face the towering team of The Undertaker and Sycho Sid. Mankind conducts a psychotic interview which Goldust strokes his hair. Mankind states he is getting very angry and the deadman is due to find out that destruction can be beautiful. Mankind then proceeds to bang his head against the wall. Mankind is due to face off against The Undertaker in less than 2 weeks time, in Wrestling’s first Boiler Room Brawl. .......... Intercontinental Tournament – Last 16 In the 2nd of tonight’s tournament match-ups, Owen Hart faces Who? Lawler: “I can’t quite put my finger on it JR, but it is like these two know each other!”. Who? starts at a quick pace, but he is soon overcome by his opponents superior wrestling and Hart picks up a comfortable win via the Sharpshooter. Outcome: Hart wins by submission .......... Smokin’ Gunns vs BodyDonnas The next bout features the three time and current Tag Team Champions the Smokin’ Gunns accompanied by Sunny vs former champions and the team Sunny left, the BodyDonnas. The match was evenly poised, until Bart Gunn distracted the referee and Sunny caught the attention of Skip, prior to hitting him over the head with a bulging red purse. The strike knocked Skip out and Billy Gunn was able to pick up the 3 count. Outcome: Smokin’ Gunns win by pinfall .......... Intercontinental Tournament – Last 16 The glass shatters and the first participant for this last 16 match Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way to the ring. Upon entering the ring, Austin yanks the microphone out of Howard Finkel’s hand to a chorus of boos. “Shut the hell up and listen to what Stone Cold Steve Austin has to say. I ran through every idiot in that locker room in June to win King of the Ring, and I’m about to do the same again for this Intercontinental Championship. And we are starting tonight with that jackass Savio Vega. I’ve whipped your ass at WrestleMania and in the King of the Ring tournament son, so get your ass down here so that I can do it again.” Vega makes his way to ring and is stomped on immediately be Austin when he gets in the ring. In what have previously been close encounters between Austin and Vega, Austin illustrates there is now a gulf in class as he puts in a dominant performance and beats Vega with a stunner. Outcome: Austins wins by pinfall .......... Intercontinental Tournament – Last 16 In the final match-up of the last 16 tournament, the British Bulldog (accompanied by Jim Cornette) faces off against Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts. The British Bulldog puts in a dominant display for the majority of the match until Bulldog misses a running legdrop, enabling Roberts to build up some momentum. Cornette gets onto the ring apron and attempts to hit Roberts with his tennis racquet but is levelled by a Roberts right hand. This incenses The Bulldog who grabs a steel chair from ringside and absolutely levels Roberts with a huge chair shot. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies Bulldog, who continues his assault on Roberts continually driving the chair into Roberts ribs. Bulldog has snapped ! Multiple security guards have to come from the back to stop the assault. Outcome: Roberts wins by DQ .......... McMahon Announces Quarter Final Draw Following an advertisement break, Vince McMahon appears in the ring. “Ladies and gentlemen, following the conclusion of the Last 16 matches for the Intercontinental Championship, I am pleased to announce to you the draw for the Quarter Finals, which will occur next week on Monday Night Raw: Quarter Final 1: Jake Roberts vs Owen Hart Quarter Final 2: Rocky Maivia vs Faarooq Quarter Final 3: Marc Mero vs Steve Austin Quarter Final 4: Yokozuna vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley .......... Sycho Sid & The Undertaker vs Mankind and Goldust There can’t have been too many tag team match ups with more dysfunctional pairings than the co-main event this evening. Sid and Goldust kick things off in the ring, whilst Mankind sits on the ring apron rocking back and forth. Sid gains the advantage and makes the tag to The Undertaker who attacks Goldust with a series of uppercuts. Mankind illegally enters the ring and clotheslines The Undertaker over the top rope, he quickly follows him outside and begins choking him with the electrical cable of a nearby camera. Sid enters the ring and chokeslams Goldust, the match has descended into chaos and the referee calls for the bell. Outcome: No official decision .......... Hunter Hearst Helmsley Interview Hunter cuts a promo backstage about his upcoming match vs Shawn Michaels for the World Wrestling Federation title. At his arrogant best, Hunter states it is his time now, and nobody can stand in his way of becoming World Champion. .......... Shawn Michaels vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley - World Wrestling Federation Championship In a competitive match, during which Hunter had a couple of near calls, Shawn Michaels successfully defended his World title scoring the win via pinfall after Sweet Chin Music. Outcome: Shawn Michaels wins by pinfall As Shawn Michaels celebrates his win, Camp Cornette make their way to ringside. Michaels is quickly beaten down 3 on 1. Michaels is down in the corner, and Owen and Bulldog place a chair on Michaels ankle, signalling Vader to go on the top rope and snap Michaels’ leg. Lawler: “He said they couldn’t put him out of action…they will now JR”. Before Vader can make it to the ropes, he is punched from behind by Jose Lothario. It has the effect of a fly attacking an elephant and Vader turns around and floors Lothario with a huge right hand. However, to maintain the integrity of the tournament, Owen Hart will not receive a bye to the Semi Finals, he will face a mystery opponent… Jake ‘The Snake Roberts will have the opportunity to gain his retribution on the British Bulldog at Summerslam, in a no disqualification match…” .......... Jeff Jarrett vs Skip In a fairly non-descript match, Jeff Jarrett picked up the victory via pinfall. Outcome: Jarrett wins by pinfall .......... Quarter Final 1 In the first of tonight’s quarter finals, Maivia put in a strong showing and gave Faarooq his hardest battle to date in the WWF. Ultimately, experience told and Faarooq took advantage of a rookie mistake, which led to Faarooq hitting the dominator to secure his spot in the Semi Finals at SummerSlam. Following the match, Faarooq gave Maivia in a knowing look, as if to suggest that Faarooq sees a lot of potential in the rookie. Outcome: Asad wins by pinfall .......... Smokin’ Gunns vs Savio and Aldo Montoya Savio and Montoya put up a good showing, with the Smokin’ Gunns having to rely on Sunny hitting Savio on the back of the head with the bulging red purse to pick up the win. Outcome: Smokin’ Gunns win by pinfall .......... Shawn Michaels – Update on Jose Lothario Following last week’s brutal attack on his manager, Shawn Michaels gives an emotional update on his long-term mentor and manager. Michaels states that Jose has been laid-up in hospital with numerous broken ribs and has had difficulty breathing since the assault by Vader. Michaels promises that he will get his vengeance tonight during his tag match against Camp Cornette and ultimately at SummerSlam , vowing to be the first man to defeat Vader in the WWF. .......... Sycho Sid vs Crush In the clash of two huge men, Sid secured the victory with a powerbomb. During the match Sid appeared to pick up an injury, following a mistake by Crush, putting any involvement during SummerSlam into doubt. Outcome: Sycho Sid wins by pinfall .......... Quarter Final 2 In a fairly dominant fashion. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin picked up the win and booked his place in the Semi Finals for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. Following the victory, Austin picked up a microphone… “Come Sunday, at SummerSlam, you’re looking at the next Intercontinental Champion. I don’t give a rats ass who I’m facing, every jackass who entered this tournament is on my list for an ass kicking. Be it Faarooq, Yokozuna or Hunter Hearst Helmsley, not one of you has what it takes to defeat ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and that’s the bottom line….’cause ‘Stone Cold’ said so…” Outcome: Steve Austin wins by pinfall .......... Quarter Final 3 In a highly competitive bout, Hunter picked up the win following Yokozuna missing a Bonzai Drop, which enable Hunter to deliver the pedigree for the 3 count. Outcome: Hunter Hearst Helmsley wins by pinfall .......... Quarter Final 4 Owen Hart makes his way to the ring, accompanied by the British Bulldog and Jim Cornette. As he waits in the ring, a video is shown recapping last week’s match-up of Jake Roberts vs British Bulldog and Vince McMahon explaining earlier in the night that Roberts would be unable to compete tonight. The video ends and the anticipation begins to build over who Hart’s mystery opponent could be. A well known song begins to play…and the crowd burst into raptures. JR: “Oh my God, IT’S THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!’ Lawler: “What is this idiot doing back here JR…” Warrior sprints to the ring and delivers multiple clotheslines to Owen Hart to get the action underway. Owen is struggling to get into the match due to the quick pace which Warrior has set, Cornette and Bulldog both try and get onto the ring apron to distract Warrior but he floors both with right hands. Warrior hits the running splash on Hart to secure the win and move into the Semi Finals at SummerSlam Outcome: Ultimate Warrior wins by pinfall .......... Vince McMahon is the in the ring. “Ladies and gentlemen, following the conclusion of the Quarter Final match-ups, I am pleased to announce to you the Semi Final match-ups for this coming Sunday at SummerSlam, with a new Champion crowned the very same night. Semi Final 1 will see Faarooq Asad face Hunter Hearst Helmsley Semi Final 2 will see ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin face off against the Ultimate Warrior Additionally, there will be a 10 man battle royal, the winner of which will have the first shot at the new Intercontinental Champion the very next night on Raw! .......... Vader and Bulldog vs The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels The main event sees Camp Cornette’s Vader and Bulldog face-off against The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. In the highest quality match of the night, The Undertaker was set to deliver the tombstone to Bulldog, but was prevented from doing so by Mankind who interfered nailing both Undertaker and Bulldog with a chair and the match descending into chaos. A video package is the first segment, which runs through some of the key matches in store for us tonight, including the conclusion of the Intercontinental Tournament, the Boiler Room Brawl between The Undertaker and Mankind, and Shawn Michaels defending his World Wrestling Federation Championship against the unbeaten Vader! But first up is the unbeaten Faarooq Asad facing off against Hunter Hearst Helmsley. .......... Intercontinental Championship - Semi Final 1 Faarooq has scored victories over Billy Gunn and Rocky Maivia to reach the Semis, whereas Hunter has victories over Isaac Yankem and Yokozuna. In a somewhat unusual match-up for the WWF, we have two heels facing off, with Helmsley seemingly having more of the fan support. However, this doesn’t help him in the early stages, as Faarooq’s rough-house tactics give him a clear advantage. However, Helmsley manages to find his way back into the fight and appears as if he is ready to deliver the pedigree until Sunny jumps up onto the ring apron and begins to flirt outrageously, Hunter falls straight into the trap and Sunny nails with the big red purse, Hunter is down…..Faarooq rolls over for the pin…1, 2…3! Faarooq is one win away from being intercontinental champion ! JR: What the hell is in that purse…. Lawler: Lipstick and foundation JR…what else would a woman like Sunny carry around? Helmsley’s performance was relatively underwhelming, indicating he still needs to fine tune his game for a step up to the higher levels of the card. Outcome: Faarooq wins by pinfall ………. WWF Tag Titles : The Goddwins vs Smokin’ Gunns © In a relatively uninteresting match, The Smokin’ Gunns pick up a straightforward win to defence their World Titles for the first time. The lack of interest from the fans currently sums up the complete lack of depth within the WWF Tag Team roster. Outcome: Smokin’ Gunns win by pinfall ………. Stone Cold Promo on Warrior Following the non-descript tag team match, the next segment is significantly more interesting, as we go backstage to hear from ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin prior to his Intercontinental Semi Final vs the Ultimate Warrior. Austin’s appearance on the screen is met with a chorus of boos, a clear indicator that he is on course to be one of the top heels in the company.. “Shut the hell up….in a few minutes time, I’ll be kicking the ass of a man who is stuck in the land of fairytales. You can go on about the stars aligning and all that bulls***, your stars aligned in the 1980s son and you aren’t relevant anymore. 1996 is the time of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and the stars are going to align for me kicking your ass and becoming the next Intercontinental Champion, and that’s the bottom line…’cause ‘Stone Cold’ said so. ………. Interconentintal Championship Semi Final 2 - Ultimate Warrior vs Steve Austin Austin makes his ring to a chorus of boos and stands leaning in the corner waiting like a rattlesnake for his opponent to arrive. The Warrior’s music hits and the crowd goes wild, Warrior sprints to the ring, and in an idiotic move dives straight into the ring and is immediately stomped on by Austin, giving the Warrior an immediate disadvantage. Austin has the upper hand for a good five minutes. Lawler: Warrior has bitten off more than he can chew with this comeback JR…he’s past it and in with the biggest bad ass currently in wrestling…I love it! Almost as if he is a curse, Lawler’s words have an impact on the Warrior who seems like he begins to find energy from another planet and almost becomes immune to Austin’s assaults, Warrior gains the upper hand with a series of clothelines and Austin is reeling. Warrior attempts an irish whip, but it is reversed by Austin….Warrior clashes straight into the referee…the referee is down! Austin rolls out of the ring towards the announcers table, where he is followed by the Warrior. Austin throws a crew hand nearby off a blue chair, and drives the chair into Warrior’s ribs! With the Warrior bent over, Austin smashes the chair against Warrior’s back! JR: That SOB should be disqualified ! Lawler: A true rattlesnake…throw him in the ring and pin him! Austin continues to drive the edge of the chair into Warrior’s ribs . Austin rolls Warrior back into the ring, and stands up Warrior up….Stone Cold Stunner! The ref is still down….Austin drags him over for the cover… 1……2…………Warrior kicks out! Austin is livid! Austin rolls outside and throws the steel chair into the ring….Austin continually drives the chair into the Warrior’s ribs…he has lost it! The referee looks up, still dazed…he is waving this one off. Austin is disqualified! The Ultimate Warrior is in the final of the Intercontinental Tournament…but will he be able to compete?! Outcome: Ultimate Warrior wins by DQ ………. Jake Roberts vs British Bulldog Roberts and Bulldog face off in a rematch of their clash in the Last 16 of the Intercontinental Tournament where Bulldog lost via DQ. However, the injury inflicted upon Roberts meant he was no longer able to participate in the tournament and was replaced by tonight's finalist the Ultimate Warrior. The match which didn't have a great deal of heat given the lack of real build-up was won by Bulldog following interference from Jim Cornette, which enabled Bulldog to hit the running powerslam and pick up the win. A win on PPV for Bulldog, but where do these two go next ? Outcome: British Bulldog wins by pinfall ………. Battle Royal – 10 Man This match is to become number 1 contender to the new Intercontinental Champion, with the winning of the Battle Royale receiving a shot at the new champion tomorrow night on Raw. The participants are: 2 Cold Scorpio, Bob Holly, Goldust, Jeff Jarrett, Marc Mero, Mark Henry, Owen Hart, Rocky Maivia, The Stalker, Yokozuna The match has been good exposure to a number of rookies. Yokozuna put in a dominant performance and The Stalker was a surprise member of the final 4. The end came when Goldust tipped Owen Hart over the top rope. Outcome: Goldust wins ………. Vacant Intercontinental Championship: Ultimate Warrior vs Faarooq Asad Asad makes his way to the ring with Sunny, he earned his spot in this final following victory tonight over Hunter Hearst Helmsley. The victory was assisted by Sunny who hit Hunter with a big red purse, which has been a theme in victories for the Smokin' Gunns and Faarooq in recent weeks. This title is vacant due to the injuries sustained to Ahmed Johnson following a vicious assault by Asad on his debut. Faarooq waits in the ring as the Ultimate Warrior's music hits. Warrior makes his way to the ring, but there is no sprint. He gingerly walks to the ring as a result of the injuries sustained to his ribs in tonight's Semi Final disqualification victory over Steve Austin. Lawler: He can't run now JR...he won't be able to stand once Faarooq has finished with him ! Faarooq as expected starts the match in the ascendancy and it looks like this may be a one sided beatdown given Warrior's injuries. Faarooq sets up Warrior for the dominator but Warrior somehow manages to slip out over Faarooq's shoulder. Warrior then floors Asad with a clothesline...Sunny jumps up on the ring apron and Warrior obliges and goes over...Sunny swings the red purse...Warrior ducks and it hits Faarooq square in the face...the red purse drops into the ring...and a red brick falls out of it... Warrior makes the cover. 1...2....3! JR: Against all odds....the Ultimate Warrior in the NEW intercontinental Champion ! Faarooq comes around and is visibly furious. He rants at Sunny and gets his Gladaitor helmet from ringside and absolutely destroys it. Sunny goes backstage in fear of what Asad may do next. Outcome: New Intercontinental Champion – Ultimate Warrior wins by pinfall ………. Mankind vs Undertaker In the first match of its kind in the WWF, these two adversaries face off in a boiler room brawl. The victor must retrieve The Urn from Paul Bearer in the ring. The match starts with The Undertaker looking for Mankind in the darkened large boiler room. Mankind stalks up behind The Undertaker and attack him with a steal pole and continues his attack whilst doing some strange primal squeal. The Undertaker fights his way back with a series of uppercuts and then two continue to have a back and forth brawl, using anything at their disposal to attack their opponent. The fight finally makes its way to ringside, after the two have battered each other senseless. They are both stood on the ring apron, and The Undertaker pulls back the top and sends Mankind flying to the concrete floor. The Undertaker goes down on one knee in front of Paul Bearer….but Bearer looks around at the crowd. Mankind recovers….and he’s applied the Mandible Claw to The Undertaker…..The Undertaker has passed out. Mankind makes his way over to Paul Bearer….who gives him The Urn. Bearer makes his way over to the Undertaker and lays puts into a semi-conscious Undertaker as Mankind holds him down. Outcome: Mankind wins by retrieving The Urn ………. Shawn Michaels Promo Shawn Michaels cuts a promo stating that tonight he will end Vader’s unbeaten streak in the WWF and gain revenge for the injuries inflicted on his mentor Jose Lothario. Michaels stated he has never been more confident of good triumphing over evil. ………. WWF Championship: Shawn Michaels (C) vs Vader Vader comes out accompanied by Jim Cornette to a massive amount of boos. He is clearly establishing himself as the monster heel many observed in WCW and defends his undefeated streak in the WWF tonight, with a further win tonight meaning he will be crowned WWF Champion. Shawn Michaels then enters alone, Jose Lothario absent due to the sustained beating he received at the hands of Vader just two weeks ago. JR: The odds are stacked against HBK tonight, the pack of scroundels Camp Cornette have continually interfered and beat Michaels to a pulp, but if anyone can overcome these odds it is the WWF Champion... Lawler: He's going to get his ass kicked JR! The match starts and we have a game of cat and mouse, as Michaels avoids the monster Vader, managing to get in and out with quick strikes, with Vader looking like he has never seen speed like it, Michaels however it still unable to get the big man off his feet. Michaels however gets too confident and stays within Vader's range half a second too long and is floored by a Vader forearm... Lawler: He's hit him once and floored him...Michaels is in way over his head! The action continues back and forth with a key turning point around 16 minutes into the contest, when Michaels manages to connect enzirguri, flooring Vader. Sensing the initiative, Michaels climbs the top rope JR: He's looking for the flying elbow drop! Michaels is flying through the air...and...he's nailed it ! Vader looks done ! Michaels retreats to the corner and begins tuning up the band for Sweet Chin Music... JR: Owen Hart is running down to ringside...what is that SOB doing here... Lawler: Supporting his team mate ! Hart is now on the right apron in the opposite corner to Michaels, Vader rises for Michaels to hit a super kick....but Cornette is holding Michaels foot and he is unable to move ! Vader senses the opportunity and runs full speed to the corner and crushes Michaels against the turnbuckle. Hart jumps down off the ring apron. Vader drags Michaels up by the hair and sets up the powerbomb with Vader holding Michaels up on his shoulders for what seemed like an eternity ....Vader nails the powerbomb!!! JR: That has to be it, Camp Cornette have screwed Michaels again ! Vader drags a lifeless Michaels by the arm over towards the corner. Lawler: He's finishing this with an exclamation mark JR. Vader climbs to the top turnbuckle....Cornette is shouting encouragement at Vader....here it comes...Vader leaps backwards from the turnbuckle....is Michaels going to move in time ...NO! Vader lands on Michaels and the referee begins to count.... 1...2.....3! VADER IS THE NEW WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION CHAMPION ! JR: Who is going to be able to beat this monster when he has the help of the likes of Owen Hart, Bulldog and Cornette ! Michaels has been screwed again! bigt96 Posted December 2, 2023 Author Share Posted December 2, 2023 Vince McMahon’s decision to re-sign the Ultimate Warrior following his failed earlier stint this year sent shockwaves through the WWF’s corporate headshed. Not only has Vince signed Warrior, he has signed him on a 2 year contract, making him one of the top paid wrestlers in the World, which must be considered a considerable risk given Warrior’s nature of being unmanageable. The rumour is that Vince felt the WWF needed more star power following the departure of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to WCW and polling suggests Warrior is still in the Top 5 most popular wrestlers in the World. Thus far, Vince appears to have been vindicated. Warrior put in two stellar performances with an average rating of 80 during his two matches at SummerSlam as he claimed the WWF Championship. It’s thought that should Warrior continue such performances, he will soon find himself in the picture again for the World Title. The WWF initially wanted the Warrior in for the start of the Last 16 of the Intercontinental Championship, but terms were unable to be agreed in time, hence why Jake Roberts appeared in the Last 16 and was then written out of the Quarter Finals with a storyline injury. The WWF has made a significant leap of faith by placing the World Championship around the considerable waist of Vader. However, their plans already appear in disarray following a recent injury to Sycho Sid at the hands of Crush. It remains to be seen whether Sid will be in a position to challenge Vader. With WWF short on top level faces, it’s difficult to see who would currently present a realistic challenge to the unbeaten behemoth. Jose Lothario has been released from his contract following a feeling that the dynamic between him and Shawn Michaels isn’t the way they want to go in the future. The Bushwhackers, Vince Russo, The Iron Sheikh and have also been released. And finally for this iteration, it appears Faarooq Asad will be in-line for a change of gimmick following his failure to secure the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
