Right now my plan is to simulate up to September of 2024, and then present every show, like on the previous dynasty, that you can check out on the link hyperlink above. Here I'll present what went down in 2022, and I'll do a similar post for 2023. Total Extreme Wrestling Magazine Issue #203 The European Wrestling Observer by Matias De Vezze Let's take a look at the best of 2022 in European Wrestling! Hello, friends of European wrestling! As always, there's much progress to be made, but no one can deny the steps forward European wrestling has been making! But before we delve into the 2022 edition of the TEW Europe Awards, let us take a moment to relive the biggest news of the year! Dramatic events! Despite rumors of being sketched in some big angles and looking like he's set to have a breakout year, Dylan Drama has walked out from EWA at the end of February, reportedly because he didn't like how he was treated after being accused of starting multiple backstage incidents. It was especially shocking, as Drama had became one of the best in-ring workers in the whole Europe and was him & Lothar Prime seemed set to challenge Hammer & Anvil for the EWA Tag Titles, with many expecting him to become a centerpiece of the EWA product. Drama has been having some fairly underwhelming matches on the UK indie scene ever since. Return of EWA Superstars & September Exodus - September was a wild ride for EWA fans - EWA Universal champion Hercules was released shortly after a title defense against Bret Heartbreak, with rumors that he refused to put Byron's son over. There hasn't been any explanation regarding the release of Hercules from either side. Hercules has been touring with BCG this year, which is likely to end up as his new home. Shortly after the news regarding Hercules, Byron looked to move the talk regarding EWA to EWA Superstars, as he announced the return of the weekly show, claiming that this time it's here to stay, on WrestleWorld Europe! Sadly, the return of Superstars led to creative disagreements between Byron and his booking assistant, Thea Davis, disagreements which led to Thea leaving EWA for good, with Karen Bilous following her out of solidarity. EWA vs. VWA? - The companies ended their trade partnership and VWA owner Albert Thorp has seemed really bitter towards EWA, as important VWA wrestlers such as Lauro Giordano, Michael Gregory & Walker van Cleer have also joined the EWA this year. Era of Evil ends - Crusher Von Steinberg has put his career on the line in a 3 v. 3 match between him & TNT (Demolition Drebin & Witch Doctor) against Eric Future & The Addams Brothers, after an extended feud between the Masters of Evil and the Addams & Future X. Eric Future is the one who got the pin on the European veteran, who celebrated with many of the company's babyfaces, as Crusher's retirement meant the end for the Masters of Evil faction. Let's take a quick look at the more minor news: Despite starting the year with a full team of bookers, Byron ends the year as the sole booker of EWA! EWA Superstars is seeming to be a commercial success, as all numbers are looking good for Europe's biggest company! VWA & UEW had poor numbers when it came to selling out arenas and turning in profits this year. Now, time for the highly anticipated TEW Europe Awards 2022! WRESTLER OF THE YEAR Nominees: 1. Bam Bam Johansson 2. Kruge The Revenger 3. Paolo Gandalfini 4. Petey Barnes WINNER: BAM BAM JOHANSSON Feuding with his brother, helping EWA's champions get cheered like heroes and creating the NextWave tag team with Magnus Cage has made Bam Bam Europe's finest heel, and it's not debatable. His tag team with current EWA Intercontinental champion Magnus Cage is working better than expected, and despite being in a supportive role, Bam Bam often steals the show when showing up for Magnus in his feud with Bret Heartbreak. MATCH OF THE YEAR Nominees: 1. (C) Paolo Gandalfini vs. Hercules (for the EWA Universal Championship) - EWA Madness in Munich 2022 2. Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak vs. Masters of Evil (Crush von Steinberg & Demolition Drebin) - EWA All-Star Bash XVI 3. Juan Mendoza & Cub Balowicz vs. Konrad Makinen & Don Henderson- UEW Championship Quest 2022 4. (C) Cub Balowicz vs. Michael Gregory (for the VWA European Championship) - VWA Main Event Madness 2022 WINNER: MENDOZA & BALOWICZ vs. KONRAD & HENDERSON - UEW Championship Quest 2022 Konrad, UEW's top heel & Henderson, the English rugged veteran, put in a great shift as they help Juan Mendoza put in a starmaking performance even in defeat. Cub Balowicz acts as a great hot tag, but the star of the match is Konrad as his ruthless arsenal made Mendoza extremely easy to support, and it was heartbreaking for the fans when the match ended with Konrad pinning the KOed Mendoza, as Henderson stopped Balowicz from breaking the pin. Hello, friends of European wrestling! 2023 has been a great year, with lots of progress for European wrestling, with EWA at the forefront, as usually, and the VWA reaching a new level of popularity! Let's take a look at the biggest European Wrestling news of 2023, before delving into the 2023 edition of the TEW Europe Awards! Hercules is back - The Munich crowd went crazy when it was revealed that Michael Gregory's mistery tag partner to face Bam Bam Johanson & Kruge The Revenger was none other than Hercules! The 2 brothers reignited their feud with great success. EWA goes PG - Towards the end of the Spring, EWA announced it's going PG, and it's been a very inspider business move by Byron, as reports on the company's finances suggest it's had by far the best year in its history. VWA hits milestone - VWA's has been getting an average viewership of 20k on WrestleWorld: Europe, which is said to be an important growth from last year, and Albert Thorp has been putting in more money in attracting draws, suggesting that 2024 might be an even better year for the Swiss company. ELPF challenges the status quo - A new company appeared from out of nowhere, in the Netherlands. In July, Kalu Owusu opened up the European League of Professional Fighters, with Crusher von Steinberg as head booker, and in August Kalu & Byron had already declared each other war. Will Kalu's ELPF manage to survive with EWA seeming willing to work against them? Let's also take a short look at other headlines of 2023: EWA's Viper McKenna & Aud Valkyrie both silently retired from wrestling roles, but stay with EWA as managers. Bret Heartbreak wins the VWA European championship in surprise debut at VWA Berlin Bash Night 1. Steffen Strucker walks out of EWA despite promises of a push coming his way, joins ELPF. Now, finally, it's time to see the TEW Europe Awards 2023! WRESTLER OF THE YEAR Nominees: 1. Bam Bam Johansson 2. Kruge The Executioner 3. Paolo Gandalfini 4. Petey Barnes WINNER: PETEY BARNES At 41 years old, Petey Barnes shows he is still at his best, as he's always a highlight of every EWA card he's on, having been so impressive that WLW invited him over for multiple tours and even gave him a main show victory over Dragonheart at WLW Power & Glory, on Petey's first Japan tour. Winning the tag titles with Eric Future at EWA All-Star Bash XVII was an amazing moment, but the main highlight of Petey's year was when he got the pin on last year's winner, Bam Bam Johansson, to end a great tag team match where him & Gandalfini took on Bam Bam & Kruge, in one of EWA's best in-ring offerings of the year. As soon as Future X lost the tag titles, Petey defeated Kruge for the Intercontinental title, and he's ending the year with well-deserved gold around his waist. MATCH OF THE YEAR Nominees: 1. (C) Magnus Cage vs. Paolo Gandalfini (For the EWA Universal Championship) - EWA Nightmare Before Christmas 7 2. Michael Gregory vs. Magnus Cage - VWA Main Event Madness 2023 3. (C) Konrad Makinen vs. Juan Mendoza (For the UEW World Championship) - UEW Destiny 2023 WINNER: MICHAEL GREGORY vs. MAGNUS CAGE Michael Gregory surprised everyone when he casually put on the greatest match of his career and probably the best wrestling match the old continent has ever seen, wrestling the versatile Magnus Cage like his life depended on this win. The 2 absolutely stole the show on VWA's most important show of the year, and we're not sure that there's a pair of European wrestlers that can top this off anytime soon. vladjarca Posted August 17 Author Share Posted August 17 The Current State of Affairs in European Wrestling 18 August, 2024 Given that EWA is Medium & VWA is Small while the UEW and ELPF are both Tiny, we'll be following EWA & VWA much more closely than the other 2 companies. We'll start truly delving into the depths of each show at the end of August, with August's last episode of EWA Superstars, on the 27th. Today, I'll present what's happened up to this point in the oldest 2 European companies, European Wrestling All-Stars & Ultimate European Wrestling. EUROPEAN WRESTLING ALL-STARS The first 3 months of the year saw no major events for the EWA, as there was no title change, but some minor roster changes, with Apocalypse Ruin leaving the company and Apocalypse Doom being renamed simply DOOM. They also rehired Gianfranco Morelli after 15 years away from the company, this time for a singles run as a jobber. They did manage to put on some surprinsingly good in-ring action, with Gandalfini and Bret Heartbreak often stealing the show. The spring brought some change, as The Top Dogs (Jason Dempsey & Eugen Samper, managed by Krystyna) won the EWA Tag Team Championships, ending the 8th reign of the Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) on a Superstars episode. Sadly the belts feel moslty like an accessory, as the main point of interest between Dempsey & Samper seems to be the boiling jealosy between them, as lately they've been more interested in obtaining Krystyna's affection rather than perfecting themselves as a tag team. It was also spring when Kruge The Executioner defeated Petey Barnes for the EWA Intercontinental Championship. His reign would be short lived, as he'd drop it in a 4-way match in June at EWA Firepower, where a babyface Bret Heartbreak would pin him. Kruge would then go on something of a slump, and Bret would go on to have some spectacular tag matches, but ultimately lose the belt in his first defence to Michael Gregory at EWA All Out Riot, in August just a few weeks ago, making Bret the first IC champion in EWA history to lose the belt without scoring any successful defence. In June, after the commercial success of EWA Firepower, Byron declared the company is ready to make new steps to cement its status as a leader in European wrestling, so the company went on a hiring streak, including returning wrestlers such as Machiko Matsuda, Niklas Kremer & Stuart Wilson, established talents from VWA such as Fabian Schwarz, Night Spyder & Sergey Litvinov, and young English prospect Andrea Roy, who was having a decent rookie year in ELPF, and is yet to debut in the EWA. The EWA All Star Bash XIII was main evented by the heel Gandalfini defending the EWA Universal Championship against Magnus Cage. Magnus won, sending the crowd home happy, altho the feeling was that the show could have went better. Just last week, EWA announced they have extended their deal with WrestleZone Europe for EWA Superstars, with negotiations taking place quickly, right after the most memorable episode from the shows current run, main evented by a one-off return of The Great Team (Bret Heartbreak & Kruge The Executioner), who defeated the improvised team of Universal Champ Magnus Cage & Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory. Cassie O'Peter got a short run with the EWA Women's Championship, but as she wasn't getting the kind of reactions Byron wanted, just 3 months later the belt was back on Maisie Laurels, starting, Maisie's 4th title reign. Zofia Jankovic has been regularly stealing the show, tho, so no one would be surprised if she'd win the belt soon. The most recent edition of EWA Superstars was scheduled to be main evented by Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak vs. Universal Champion Magnus Cage & Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory, but Gandalfini attacked Cage, leaving him unable to compete, so EWA Tag Team Champion Eugene Samper was slotted in to take Cage's place. Fellow EWA Tag Team Champion Jason Dempsey didn't like this, and he also didn't like Krystyna going out to support his teammate, and he walked out to "help" his colleague, "mistakingly" creating a distraction that led to Gandalfini pinning Samper with a roll-up. This leaves things in a spicy place, as next week The Top Dogs (Samper & Dempsey) will be defending their belts against the spine of the EWA tag team divison, Jimmi & Kalvin Addams. Another piece of news that we shouldn't forget is that EWA brought over European wrestling legend Stig Svensson as a road agent. Stig will keep working for both EWA and UEW. Now that we've been through everything, let's take a look at the next card for the next EWA Superstars show! EWA Superstars (20 August 2024) 1. Ulf Horst & The Shining Force (Demyan Volko & Marcello Ricci) vs. Kruge The Revenger & Most Excellent (Lothar Prime & Pyotr Drachev) 2. EWA Tag Team Championships: (C) The Top Dogs (Jason Dempsey & Eugene Samper) w/ Krystyna vs. The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) 3. Cassie O'Peter vs. Zofia Jankovic 4. EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage & Petey Barnes vs. Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak Predictions are welcome and encouraged! ULTIMATE EUROPEAN WRESTLING UEW is having another unspectacular year. The EWA wrestlers they bringed in are proving to be a success, with Petey Barnes winning the UEW Nations title in his UEW debut and already having defended the title three times against fellow EWA talent Kruge, among other defenses against Juan Mendoza & Clubber Kohl. Marcello Ricci won the UEW World Championship once again from Konrad Makinen, and these two have been having a stranglehold on the company's main event scene, the last time someone else held the world title being back when Menace had it in 2019, before he lost it to Ricci in November of that year. Petey Barnes, Kruge The Executioner, Cub Balowicz & Juan Mendoza are all seen as stars who are likely to break this strangle hold these two have over the main event scene. Punisher Paul Hughes & Xavi Machismo still reign as UEW Tag Team Champions, in a division that has little to no excitement around it. They didn't bring in anyone new, but they did trim they roster by ending their collaborations with Joakim Sundqvist & Wes Stryker. (no predictions for the next UEW card as we'll be doing those only for the companies we focus on, EWA & VWA). Kruge The Revenger & Most Excellent (Lothar Prime & Pyotr Drachev) defeat Ulf Horst & The Shining Force (Demyan Volko & Marcello Ricci) 2. EWA Tag Team Championships: The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) defeat (C) The Top Dogs (Jason Dempsey & Eugene Samper) w/ Krystyna and begin their 9th reign as EWA Tag Team champions. 3. Zofia Jankovic defeats Cassie O'Peter. 4. Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak defeat EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage & Petey Barnes. An entertaining show marked by the expected end of the Top Dogs tag team and the Universal Champion losing a tag team match. Predictions: DinoKea: 3/4. John Lions: 3/4 Now, onto today's main talking point! VICTORY WRESTLING ASSOCIATION The VWA keeps moving up in the wrestling world. The surge of EWA talent they brought over has been very useful, but it left them with the problem that the 2 companies at times want the same wrestlers working very different roles, which means the characters aren’t very consistent across companies. As Lauro Giordano is aging and starting to lose a step or two and slip down the card, he dropped the VWA Swiss Championship to Walker van Cleer on the first show of the year. Cub Balowicz defeated Bret Heartbreak to win the VWA European Championship in an I Quit Match, and he’s been a great champ since. WrestleBowl 2024 was main evented by another Cub vs. Bret match for the VWA European Championship where Cub retained, but the show-stealer was the tag match of Michael Gregory & Paolo Gandalfini defeating the Abominable Snowman and Magnus Cage in a slobber-knocker. Pavel Vanzycha left the company to keep his body fresh for his PGHW tours, as he hopes to become a full-time worker for the Japanese company. Michael Gregory won the Berlin Bash Battle Royal, but didn’t manage dethrone Cub when he got his guaranteed title shot. Gandalfini has been wonderful in-ring, helping VWA put some on some of the best matches in the history of European wrestling, especially through his work with VWA European Champion Cub Balowicz. The Perfect Criminals (Randy Haute & Christopher Lister) reign once more as VWA Tag Team Champions, in what is likely one last run in the spotlight for the veterans who took the bells of The Bern Boys (Hans Piccard & Fabian Schwarz) at the most recent VWA event, VWA Munich 2024, on the 9th of August. The next VWA event will be VWA Prague 2024, on the 13th of September, where Cub Balowicz will headline defending the VWA European Championship against Michael Gregory. We’ll take a look at the whole card when we’re closer to it. EUROPEAN LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS The ELPF is still considered mostly insignificant, but the first good news of the year for them came in early March, when Crusher Von Steinberg declared he and Kalu Owusu will keep investing in the company. Crusher Von Steinberg dropped the ELPF Universal Championship to Pierre DuPont last month, and the fact that a tag team wrestler who never held any tag team gold is currently holding the company’s main championship says all you need to know about the lackluster ELPF main event scene.. Punisher Paul Hughes is stil the ELPF Television Champion, and he is set to defend his title next week against Crusher. Despite having no belt to fight for, Karen Bilous & MAYA have been the ELPF’s finest in-ring performers, putting on matches that are on par with those of the bigger European companies. - Next week we'll be back with the first event we're really going to delve into! Walker van Cleer & Hercules vs. Paolo Gandalfini & Bam Bam Johansson - Matthew Morris & Dougie Horwood welcome the audience to the show and run down the card. - Ulf Horst & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Jason Dempsey, EWA Tag Team Champions The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. It’s the first time in ages when Dempsey walks down the ring without his long time manager, Krystyna, and he’s tagging with his opponents from last week, the new EWA Tag Team Champions, the Addams Family! Everyone puts on a solid but unspectacular performance, and the match ends win Jimmi pinning Ulf Horst after him & Kalvin hit The Family Feud (Jumping running knee to the chest from Kalvin + Jumping running knee to the upper back from Jimmi). Winners: Jason Dempsey & EWA Tag Team Champions The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams). - Krystyna comes out As Dempsey & The Addams were still in the ring celebrating, Krystyna comes to the top of the ramp with tears down her eyes, and she lets Jason know just how disappointed she is in him. She’s been trying to make him a better man for the last 5 years, she wanted nothing more than to see him shine and support him, Jason finally made his way to his first ever championship in EWA, and he throws it all away because of jealousy on his partner. She’s disgusted by what he did 2 weeks ago when he sabotaged Eugen’s main event match, she’s disgusted by what he did last week when he left Eugen by himself to defend their titles, and she’s disgusted that tonight he teamed with the very men who took their titles away. She blames Jason for deciding his ego is more important than everyone else and even more important than the success of his wrestling career, and says she wants nothing to do with him ever again. Jason is doing his best to seem unscathed by her words, but his face is red, and he isn’t saying anything, but does occasionally put on a scary stare towards her. Just as Krystyna is done talking, Eugene Samper comes out for his match. - Eugen Samper & Eric Future vs. Night Spyder & Kruge The Executioner vs. All four men put on a fairly good match, and it ends with Eugen hitting the Spinning Wheel Kick on Night Spyder and a clean pin. Winners: Eugen Samper & Eric Future. - Byron promo EWA’s owner & European wrestling icon Byron comes out at the top of the ramp. He lets everyone know that sadly, EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage could not be cleared to wrestle this week, and he actually won’t be doing any wrestling until EWA Oktoberfest Bash, in the first weekend of September. Despite him not being here tonight, he’ll be defending his title in 1 on 1 action during EACH of the THREE nights of action, here, in Munich, for the Oktoberfest Bash! That is, of course, unless he losses said title. And of course, his opponent for the first night will be the man who injured him last week, Paolo Gandalfini, who will fight in tonight’s main event. - Cassie O’Peter vs. Zofia Jankovic vs. The girls put on an unexpectedly good match that ends when Zofia hits the Widowmaker Kick (Dragon Kick) and gets the pin. Winner: Zofia Jankovic. - And now, the nights main event: Walker van Cleer & Hercules vs. Paolo Gandalfini & Bam Bam Johansson vs. We get 8 minutes of good wrestling, when a hooded figure jumps the rail wearing an arm cast and obviously, it’s EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage, who whams Gandalfini over the head with the Universal Championship. As he wasn’t stealthy at all, the ref saw it and ended the match via DQ, so a huge brawl started. Hercules & Bam Bam eventually brawled to the backstage area, Walker was too hurt from the match to do much, and the brawl culminated when Gandalfini layed Magnus down with a chokeslam and proceeded to hit his arm with the ringside steps. Magnus was escorted to the back by EWA medical staff, as Paolo did some poses with the Universal championship before handing it to producer Stig Svensson, who took it and went to give it to Magnus. Winners: Paolo Gandalfini & Bam Bam Johansson (DQ). - Show stats: (you may notice I’m changing the order of some of the angles, as I believe it helps give the shows a finer pace) Next week, EWA stays in Munich and will bring us the last Superstars episode until the 3-night Oktoberfest Bash starts: EWA Superstars (3 September) 1. vladjarca Posted August 31 Author Share Posted August 31 (edited) Alright, normally I'd try to post the show recap the day after the show happens on the real-life calendar, but I'll be going on vacation during the next week, and next week we have four EWA events scheduled, so this weekend I'll be posting the recap for next week's Superstars and Oktoberfest Bash Night 1, and on the 10th, 11th and 12th of September I'll post Oktoberfest Night 2, 3, and the following Superstars episode. After that hopefully we can get back to regular. Now, it's time for... EWA Superstars 3 September – Munich, Germany Match card: 1. Hercules vs. Gianfranco Morelli 2. They let us know that Magnus will definitely not be present tonight, as he is rehabbing his injured arm in Berlin to be as healthy as possible going into Oktoberfest Bash. - vs. Hercules vs. Gianfranco Morelli Hercules squashes Gianfranco in less than 5 minutes, doesn’t get much of a reaction. Winner: Hercules - Eugen approaches Krystyna backstage, Jason shows up as well Krystyna was psyching herself up backstage, getting ready to see her former clients go against each other in the night’s following match, when Eugen Samper approaches her. ES: Krystyna… K: Eugen… ES: You were very brave, standing up to Jason last week. It’s crazy the way he destroyed everything we had going for our little group for really no reason. K: Really no reason, Eugen? Really no reason? Why do you always need to go out of your way, publicly, to get under my skin? If you would have focused solely on being a pro wrestler, you could have both still been champions, with me having your backs. ES: Krystyna, I was fairly certain you enjoyed our interactions.. K: What I enjoyed was doing my job, and if you think I found any enjoyment in managing the egos of two guys like you, you’re very wrong. I just wanted everything to stay professional. The camera pans out and shows Jason Dempsey standing nearby, and he’s definitely heard a part of the earlier conversation. Eugen and Krystyna notice him as well. JD: You know, maybe I messed up a bit and shouldn’t have been such a prick to you, Eugen, but maybe you could also have kept a more polite distance from Krystyna. ES: Jason, you two had been working together for 5 years and there wasn’t one romantic spark between you for all that time! K: Enough, both of you! Maybe we can still make something workout… let’s take some time to think for a week or two, let’s all try to see what we all could have done better for each other, let’s take a look at what we’ve done wrong, and if you guys manage to not kill each other tonight, maybe you guys can be The Top Dogs again… Both men stand looking conflicted, without saying anything. and the enterance theme of Shining Force hits the speakers, meaning it’s time for the boys to walk out for the match. - vs. Eugen Samper & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Jason Dempsey & EWA Tag Team Champions The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) Surprisingly, Krystyna’s words seem to have an effect, as the match starts with a handshake between Eugen & Jason, but as the minutes pass, the interactions between them become more and more violent, and they culminate with a moment outside the ring, with Jason choking Eugen with a ring-corner post assisted sleeper choke, screaming “How could I work with a clown like you?”, before Ricci breaks up the hold. The match ends with Eugen getting the pin on Jason, tho, after hitting the Spinning Wheel Kick. Jason stares daggers once he can get back on his feet, as Samper & the Shining Force celebrate their victory. Winners: Eugen Samper & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci). - vs. Cassie O’Peter vs. Zofia Jankovic In what is almost a repeat of last weeks performance, the girls put on another very good performance that ends when Zofia hitting the Widowmaker Kick (Dragon Kick) and getting the win. Winner: Zofia Jankovic. - Byron announcements about Oktoberfest Bash Byron walks out to the ring to everyone know that Eugen Semper vs. Jason Dempsey will be fighting on night 1 of the Oktoberfest Bash! Just as Byron finishes saying that, EWA Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory’s music hits, and he gets a healthy pop. As Michael walks to the ring, he starts addressing Byron: MG: Well well, we have time to talk & make announcements about former champs, but for some reason we don’t spend too much time talking about “The Ladies Favorite”, Michael Gregory, huh? How’s that? The crowd seems to enjoy Michael’s appearance and reason. B: Michael! Truth be told, last time I asked my staff about you, I’ve been told you’re in Bulgaria helping some kids put some indie on their feet! Matter of fact, I thought I might have annoyed you with something and might have you mailing in the belt back! MG: Haha, Byron, very funny! Now let’s be clear – I do occasionally offer my mighty hand to help teach the art of business to those less cultured, but I would never mail you this pretty piece of gold! As a matter of fact, I don’t think I’d ever see myself losing it! B: But you would see yourself defending it, wouldn’t you? MG: Haha, absolutely! Now tell me, who do you got in mind? B: Now, there are two guys I’m thinking of… one of them is an old friend of mine named Kruge The Revenger.. The crowd boos. B: And another would be another EWA veteran, one Bam Bam Johansson. The crowd boos harder. MG: Well, well, I can work with that! Matter of fact, I think I can work with that so good that I can take both of them at the same time! What do you say about that!? B: That does sound tempting! But you know what? It’s not easy to book the Oktoberfest Bash, because I have three nights of back to back wrestling to provide to these fans! But since you’re so open not only to facing both Kruge & Bam Bam, but to defending your belt in a three-way… Why don’t you defend your belt in a three-way, twice? Looking a bit confused, Michael answers: MG: And how would that work? B: Alright, well, on Night One, we’re doing Semper vs. Dempsey. How about the winner of that joins you and Kruge for your defense on night two!? MG: I can take Semper, I can take Dempsey, I sure as hell can take Kruge, so why not? B: And on Night Three, the one who got pinned or tapped out on Night Two goes out the window, and makes way for Bam Bam to take his place in a new three-way match, how about that!? MG: I’m very cool with that! But I got a little question... while highly unlikely, almost impossible I’d argue, what would we do if I’d be the one to take the pin or to tap out on Night Two? B: What? Are you honestly thinking of dropping the belt on your first defense, just like my son did a month ago? I really don’t know, I guess I’ll just drop you out of the match and have Bam Bam take your place. MG: Of course, we’d have Bam Bam take my place, what a silly question... B: Well of course! Michael is looking a bit uncertain and intimidated by Byron’s idea. B: Well, now that everything is clear, let’s get on with tonights main event, where I hope my son will erase the shame of being the first EWA star to lose a belt without defending it! - And now, it's time for the main event of the evening! vs. Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) vs. Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak The guys put on a very good match that ends with Gandalfini pinning Eric Future after hitting his Chokeslam. As the show is about to go off, Gandalfini stares into the camera and says Magnus reign will end this Friday. Winners: Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak. - Show stats: This weekend, EWA will be presenting us with its most exciting autumn extravaganza, EWA Oktoberfest Bash 2024, three nights full of action that can seriously change the shape of the EWA! She says that regardless of anything, if the boys do go out and have a clean match, she still can’t help herself but hope that maybe she can keep managing them separately, since it’s obvious they wouldn’t stand being a tag team anymore. - vs. Cassie O’Peter vs. Machiko Matsuda Cassie defeats Machiko in a pretty good opener. Winner: Cassie O’Peter. - vs. w/ The Witch Doctor & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Lothar Prime & Colossal Conquest (Colossal Karl & Kronos The Conqueror) w/ Eva Berlin A fairly underwhelming match ends with Lothar Prime pinning The Witch Doctor. Winners: Lothar Prime & Colossal Conquest (Colossal Karl & Kronos The Conqueror). - Marianne hypes Kremer & Bam Bam up Marianne is standing backstage with Niklas Kremer, Bam Bam Johansson & Rashid Lawal behind her. She lets everyone know that Nik came back to EWA to prove he’s built for singles success, and he’ll prove it tonight when he’ll go out and outclass his former tag team partner, Ulf Horst. She also talks about Bam Bam, who’s going to send lil’ brother Hercules back to their mothers house in Norway, and makes everyone sure the Oktoberfest Bash weekend will end with Bam Bam as EWA Intercontinental Champion. - vs. w/ Ulf Horst vs. Niklas Kremer w/ Marianne Nik starts the match with the good old handshake to cheap shot trick, and that is a sign of how the match is about to go, as Nik plays mind games with Ulf and tries to cheat at every stop possible. Being extremely pissed off by Nik’s antics, when Ulf finally manages to catch Nik in the Ulftimate Hammerlock (Rear Shoulder Lock), Nik catches the ropes, but Ulf refuses to let him go, so he ends up getting disqualified, but giving up the win to his former colleague. Marianne applauds her client, as she’s proud of the effectiveness of Nik’s mind games. Winner: Niklas Kremer (DQ). - vs.w/vs. Hercules vs. Bam Bam Johansson (w/ Marianne) vs. Demolition Drebin The lads put on a decent effort as the match ends after Bam Bam hits the Bulldozer (Rotating Powerslam) on Drebin, but Hercules throws Bam Bam out the ring and pins Drebin for the win. Annoyed, Bam Bam promises Hercules he’ll get back at him, as Marianne tries to calm Bam Bam down. Winner: Hercules. - Dougie Horwood interviews Zofia Jankovic Dougie Horwood is backstage with Zofia Jankovic. DH: Zofia, you haven’t lost a match in EWA since The All-Star Bash three way for the Women’s championship! Don’t you feel you’ve done more than enough to get another crack at the belt? ZJ: Dougie, I’ve talked to Byron, and I can have my shot whenever I want. Right now, me & Byron think it’s good moment for me to have some fun, do my thing in-ring, warm up, keep collecting wins, and on Night 3, which is the night that matters most, if you ask me, the Bash ends with me as Women’s Champion, as I will fight Maisie, take her head off, take her belt off. Zofia walks off before Dougie can say anything. - vs. EWA Tag Team Championship: © The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) The two teams put on a very underwhelming match considering the fact this is a title match on a big show, with some of the most reliable workers in the company. Maybe the vets are getting a bit too old, as all wrestlers involved are in their early 40s. The Addams defend after hitting The Family Feud on Future. Winners, AND STILL EWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Addams Family. - vs. Blair Kerrigan vs. Zofia Jankovic They do their best to give an exciting performance, but the match predictably ends when Zofia lands The Widowmaker Kick. Winner: Zofia Jankovic. - vs. Eugen Samper vs. Jason Dempsey Samper has the crowd behind him and he’s doing a great job as the babyface in his first ever major feud, getting great cheers as Jason is trying to beat the crap out of him. The scrap goes back and forth, with Jason jumping at every chance to stomp or punch his opponent, while Eugen tries to be more calculated, focusing on taking out Jason’s legs with kicks. But Jason starts playing dirty, with eyepokes and bites, and he even brings a steel chair to the ring. But a ref bump happens, when Jason accidently hits Pat Garrett with a clothesline as Eugen went out the way, and Eugen grabs the still chair! Just when he’s about to hit Jason with it... Krystyna pops up out of nowhere trying to grab the chair from Eugen’s hands! Eugene tells her it’s too late, and Jason just sits and laughs, telling Eugen he’s not bold enough to whack him with a steel chair. Annoyed and emotional, Eugen, throws down the chair and tells Krystyna to leave. As Krystyna exits the ring, Jason grabs the chair and smashes it over Eugen’s back, just as the ref was getting back in the ring. The ref calls for the DQ, but now since Jason doesn’t have anything left to lose, he keeps smashing Eugen with the chair, as Krystyna can’t help but scream at Jason to stop. Jason eventually does stop, as he looks in Krystyna’s eyes and tells her “He made this happen, and you let this happen. Congrats.”, and walks off to the backstage, as Krystyna is looking desperate and unsure of what to do. Winner: Eugen Samper (DQ). - Byron drops news regarding Night 2 Minutes after the match is over, we’re taken to Byron’s office, where the boss drops some important news. B: Oh, Jason, look what you’re making me do… Since I have some experience with pro wrestling and guys like you, congratulations, I know the kind of hatred you have for Semper means there would be no stopping you from interfering in a no DQ match involving him, so tomorrow’s three way just became a four way! And if neither of you gets pinned, we’ll have a four way on Night 3 as well! In other news, I have some multi-team action in my mind as well! Tomorrow night, The Addams will be defending the EWA Tag Team Championships against Most Excellent and a team made up of winners from tonight’s card! And we might do something similar for Night 3 as well! Alright, now let’s get on with the show! - vs. Walker van Cleer vs. Bret Heartbreak Walker defeats Heartbreak in a good match. Winner: Walker van Cleer. And now, it’s time for the main event… vs. For the EWA Universal Championship: © Magnus Cage vs. Paolo Gandalfini Paolo is looking as ripped as always, and he comes out with an aura that suggests it just might be his night again. Magnus comes out looking healthy and ready for action. Gandalfini is towering over champion Magnus, who is 4 inches shorter. They put on a proper main event match, that ends with Magnus rolling up a tired Gandalfini in a small package for the three count. Realizing what had happened, Gandalfini looks angered, but he seems aware he’s too tired to try to cheap shot Magnus, who’s wary of his possible intents. The show ends with Magnus on top, but there’s a feeling that Paolo isn’t ready to let things end like this. Winner, AND STILL EWA UNIVERSAL CHAMPION: Magnus Cage. EWA Universal Championship: © Magnus Cage vs. Bret Heartbreak Matthew Morris & Dougie Horwood try to welcome us to the show as always, but as they run down the card… - Bret Heartbreak attacks Michael Gregory! We see images of Bret Heartbreak attacking EWA Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory from behind as Michael was entering the arena! Michael tries to fight back but Bret hits a low blow that gives him the advantage. Bret is screaming about how he will not be the only one to lose the Intercontinental Championship without successfully defending it, and leaves once he’s made his point. - vs.vs. Blair Kerrigan vs. Gypsy Rose vs. Machiko Matsuda The girls put on a forgettable opener that ends with Blair getting a clean pin on Rose. Winner: Blair Kerrigan. - Gandalfini goes after Magnus Cage backstage We are once again taken to the backstage area, this time the camera is following Gandalfini as he’s looking for EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage. Finally, he runs into him in a hall and starts shouting that a roll-up is no way to defend a title, while Cage is saying he’s ready to whoop him again at any time, including tomorrow night. They trade some more insults and someone eventually alerts security, as a bunch of agents comes to pull them apart before a brawl can start. - vs. The Witch Doctor & Fabian Schwarz vs. Ferdinand Arneaux & Gianfranco Morelli They put on a sloppy match that ends with The Witch Doctor bewitching Gianfranco Morelli for the win. Winners: Witch Doctor & Fabian Schwarz. - Dougie Horwood interviews Hercules & Walker van Cleer We go backstage once more, this time for a scheduled interview with Hercules & Walker, hosted by Dougie Horwood. DH: So Hercules, Walker, you guys won your matches last night and Byron decided to reward you with a Tag Team title opportunity that came out of nowhere. How are you feeling about that? H: You always need to take every opportunity that comes your way, and to me this is no different. I got experience as a tag team wrestler, and look at me – I’m mighty enough to win a handicap match against the champions, give me a partner like Walker and we just might reign forever. WvC: It’s a great opportunity, and it would be very special for me to win my first EWA championship along a respected veteran of the company such as Hercules. DH: You are a two-time EWA Tag Team Champion, Hercules, and both these reigns were along your brother. Since things have gone sour between you two, are you excited at the prospect of having tag belts along someone else? H: Definitely, my brother and I still could use some distance between each other right now, and a title reign with Walker would ensure we stay out of each others ways for a while. DH: Alright, thank you and good luck boys! - vs. w/ Ulf Horst & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Demolition Drebin & Colossal Conquest (Colossal Karl & Kronos The Conqueror) w/ Eva Berlin Another filler match that doesn’t do much for the crowd, it ends with Ulf making Kronos tap to the Ulftimate Hammerlock. Winners: Ulf Horst & Shining Force. - vs. vs. EWA Tag Team Championships: © The Addams Family (Jimmy & Kalvin Addams) vs. Hercules & Walker van Cleer vs. Most Excellent (Lothar Prime & Pyotr Drachev) Another underwhelming in ring spectacle, it felt like Jimmi and Walker were the only ones trying to make this match feel important. Hercules had a moment when it looked like he secured the win for his team, as he hit the Mighty Slam on Drachev, but the Addams broke the pin and a big brawl between everyone broke out. The match ended with Hercules getting caught in the Family Feud and eating the pin. Winners, and still EWA Tag Team Champions: The Addams Family. = Bam Bam Johansson & Marianne come to the ring Bam Bam roars and raises his hands as Marianne talks about how great he is and how he’s about to win the Intercontinental Championship and have the whole roster be afraid of challenging him. She only stops when Eugen Samper’s music hits. - vs.vs.vs.w/ EWA Intercontinental Championship: © Michael Gregory vs. Eugen Samper vs. Jason Dempsey vs. Bam Bam Johansson w/ Marianne Eugen looks extra-focused and he ignores whatever Marianne is shouting at him for interrupting her. Dempsey comes out next, with a steel chair in his hand, and rather than enter the ring, he just sits ringside on his steel chair, on the opposite side to Samper, but keeping eye contact with him and mean mugging him. Gregory comes out looking a bit affected by Bret’s earlier attack, but fit enough to put on a good performance. As soon as the match starts, it’s almost as if Michael and Bam Bam are some extras in Eugen & Jason’s grudge match, as they jump at each other throwing hands like there’s no tomorrow. Jason’s steel chair also comes into play ocassionaly. All in all, the guys put on a decent match. Eventually Samper & Jason’s constant brawling sees them leaving the arena altogether, leaving Gregory & Bam Bam go one on one for the last minutes, in a race of who can hit their Powerslam finisher first. It’s Michael Gregory who wins this race, as he hits Bam Bam with the Overpower Slam and gets the three count. After the match, Michael smugly looks at the camera with the belt in his left hand, and lifts a finger up on his right hand, as he lets Bret Heartbreak knows that’s defense #1, and there’s another one coming tomorrow. Winner, AND STILL EWA INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: Michael Gregory. - Stig Svensson checks on Krystyna Stig Svensson goes to Krystyna to see how she’s feeling. Krystyna seems fairly affected about the beat down her former friends are putting on each other. SS: Hey, how are you? K: I really don’t know… I hoped that there can still be room for respect and peace between them, but it seems they can’t just co-exist under the same roof, not even for my sake… I really don’t know what I’m going to do next.. SS: Alright, I’ve got a little idea, but I feel you’d rather be left alone right now. Just keep in mind I think I know what you should do next, if you feel like you could use a suggestion. Stig leaves, and Krystyna looks like she’d rather stay with her own thoughts for now. - vs. Cassie O’Peter vs. Zofia Jankovic We finally get some good in-ring action, as these Cassie vs. Zofia matches always deliver. They also always end with Zofia winning, and this one’s no different. After winning, Zofia looks into the camera and tells Maisie “it’s time”. Winner: Zofia Jankovic. - vs. Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) vs. Paolo Gandalfini & Kruge The Executioner A good display of in ring action, the match ends with Gandalfini getting a clean pin of Eric Future, just like on the last episode of Superstars, after hitting his Chokeslam. Winners: Paolo Gandalfini & Kruge The Executioner. - vs. EWA Universal Championship: © Magnus Cage vs. Bret Heartbreak The evening ends with an angry Magnus putting a beatdown on poor Bret Heartbreak. At one point, Bret was looking as he might steal it, as the ref was down following a punch that accidently hit him, and Bret was about to hit Magnus with the ring bell, but out of nowhere Michael Gregory appears, slaps some water on the refs face and wakes him up before Bret can do anything. This also served as a distraction, as Bret then walked right into an Overblown Trumpet (Double Ear Chop) by Magnus, Magnus followed with the Berlin Piledrive (Package Piledriver) and that was all she wrote. Winner, AND STILL EWA UNIVERSAL CHAMPION: Magnus Cage. Show stats: Next week, the EWA Oktoberfest Brawl finally ends, with Night THREE! 1. They can’t celebrate for long, as Paolo Gandalfini’s music soon interrupts them, as the crowd starts booing. - Paolo Gandalfini calls out Magnus Gandalfini enters the ring with a mic in his hand and he looks pissed. PG: So, il campione, let me get this straight! You beat me two nights ago with a flukey roll-up! It’s ok, colpa mia, but then, last night, you get beat up all around the ring but get lucky and win when someone else distracts your opponent! And before that, you spend the last two editions of Superstars out of action, ‘cause The Itallion Stallion galloped on your hand and it hurt you too much! And you expect THIS audience to believe that YOU are the best wrestler EWA has to offer!? Magnus Cage, you are a joke! Tonight, no roll-ups, no flukes, tonight, if you are a real man, if you pin me, I better be unable to get up once the ref hits the three! Cause when I beat you, you’ll know for sure you won’t be getting up, and you’ll probably miss a few more editions of Superstars, like the paper champ you are! He throws the mic and gets something of a mixed reaction, as his words seem to have convinced a palpable part of the crowd. - vs.vs.vs. Blair Karrigan vs. Cassie O’Peter vs. Karolina Makinen vs. Machiko Matsuda The Dublin Gals (Blair & Cassie) rarely face each other, but the last night of OkB is special and this occasion proves it. Sadly, this wasn’t really a notable match. With a little help from Blair throughout the match, the ending saw Cassie hit The Bullet (Running Superman Punch) on Machiko and get the win. Blair celebrated with Cassie, showing their friendship remains unscathed by this match. Winner: Cassie O’Peter. - Byron comes out to thank the crowd Byron comes out to congratulate the crowd on breaking the attendance record, filling some air time with a short victory parade for the company. - vs. w/ Eric Future & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Demolition Drebin & Colossal Conquest (Colossal Karl & Kronos The Conqueror) w/ Eva Berlin A decent match ends with Eric Future getting the pin on Kronos. Winners: Eric Future & Shining Force. - vs.vs. EWA Tag Team Championships: © The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) vs. The Witch Doctor & Ulf Horst vs. Most Excellent (Lothar Prime & Pyotr Drachev) Another underwhelming display for a title match, The Addams win after hitting The Family Feud (Jumping running knee to the chest from Kalvin + Jumping running knee to the upper back from Jimmi) on Pyotr. Winners, and STILL EWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Addams Family. - Marianne promo on Nik Kramer Marianne is backstage, with Niklas Kremer next to her and Bam Bam & Rashid Lawal behind them. Marianne: Things might have gone a bit awry for my Bam Bam, but today it’s the lesser Johansson brother that will be going down, as he steps in the ring with the young hope of German wrestling, “The ANVIIIIL”, NIKLAS KREMER! Hercules, being big and mighty is useless, because when Nik will get his hands on you, your big arms will get bent and twisted to the point where you will ask your wife to open jars for you. Bam Bam: Leave Allie out of this! Marianne: I don’t know who that is but you get it! You’re in for a world of pain, Hercules, we enter the age of…. *squints voice* ANVIL! - vs. Hercules vs. Niklas Kremer An unspectacular match ends when, tired of seeing her client get manhandled as Herc just forces his way out of Nik’s holds, Marianne messes up and just straight up throws her shoe at Herc right under the refs eyes. Nik is confused but doesn’t protest, as he’s aware this match wasn’t going his way either way. Winner: Hercules (DQ). - Krystyna announcement Krystyna is shown backstage. As she looks into the camera with a straight face, she says she realizes she has no future next to neither Dempsey n’or Samper. Then, with a smile on, she lets us know that starting from next week, she’ll be KRYSTYNA’S SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT CLIENT! The crowd seems to like this idea. - vs.vs.vs. EWA Intercontinental Championship: © Michael Gregory vs. Eugen Samper vs. Jason Dempsey vs. Kruge The Executioner Again tension can be felt between Samper and Dempsey from before the start of the match. This time, Eugen also brings his own steel chair. As soon as the match starts, we see a chair brawl between the two rivals, but eventually they do realize their huge opponents are a threat and use their chairs to put a beating on them too. They only do so because they want no one to disturb their one-on-one action, tho, as Eugen and Jason spend most of the match in ring while Michael & Kruge spend most of the match beat up on the outside, as their attempts at entering the ring usually sees the two rivals tee of on them so they can settle their business in peace. This can’t last forever, tho. Eventually, Jason gets a table and sets it up outside of the ring, but he’s the one who ends up laying on top of it. Eugen makes his way to the top rope with the chair in his hand, and hits a chair assisted splash on his rival. As Eugen lays down on Jason, it seems like they’re giving each other a one-hand hug and talking, likely agreeing that they’ve been putting each other through hell enough. Meanwhile, in the ring, Michael defends a Big Boot attempt from Kruge by catching Kruge into an OverPower Slam, and he gets the pin to defend his belt a second time. Again, celebrating with his belt, Michael looks into the camera and lets Bret Heartbreak know this was defense number two, and Bret ain’t touching his belt anytime soon. Winner, and STILL EWA INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: Michael Gregory. - vs. Petey Barnes & Walker van Cleer vs. Bret Heartbreak & Bam Bam Johansson The boys put on the best match of the night. When Bret & Bam Bam were having a good moment and were both in the ring, Michael Gregory made an appearance at the top of the ramp, taunting on Bret, and Bret starts running toward him, only to be tripped by Petey Barnes, as Michael laughs and leaves to the backstage. The match ends soon after, as Walker van Cleer gets Bam Bam in his Bulldog Choke and puts the big man to sleep. Winners: Petey Barnes & Walker van Cleer. - vs. EWA Women’s Championship: © Maisie Laurels vs. Zofia Jankovic While Maisie comes out to cheers, Zofia comes out to a pretty favorable reaction too. Maisie spends most of the match on the backfoot, afraid of Zofia’s striking. Maisie, showing she’s a student of Viper McKenna, manages to trick Zofia into following her out of the ring, where a smart dodge leaves Zofia kicking an iron barricade. Maisie, ridiculously quickly, uses some of the ringside cables to TIE Zofia’s arms to TWO different barricades, and then runs to the ring, to collect a win by count out! The crowd boos the winner, but it erupts into a cheer when, after being untied by the ref, Zofia surprises Maisie with a Widowmaker Kick! Zofia heads to the backstage area and the fans seem to rally behind her while turning on Maisie, in what looks like a successfully executed double turn. Winner, AND STILL EWA WOMEN’S CHAMPION: Maisie Laurels (count out). - And now, it’s time for the MAIN EVENT of the evening! vs. For the EWA Universal Championship : © Magnus Cage vs. Paolo Gandalfini Both wrestlers come out to good reactions, Paolo initially getting a more positive reaction than usually. Magnus tries to keep it a buck, putting on a proper fight, seemingly agreeing to Paolo’s idea of not attempting any roll-up counts. He eventually had a really good crucifix pin, but intentionally breaks the count, telling Paolo “it’s time to make sure you don’t get up in the end”. The crowd erupts, tho, when a few minutes after this, a tired Paolo tries a roll-up while also grabbing a handful of Cage’s pants, but Cage breaks the rope and as he gets up he laughs at Paolo for breaking his own rule, as Paolo also looks a bit embarrassed. The match ends with Magnus hitting the Overblown Trumpet (Ear chop) and finishing it up with the Berlin Piledriver (Package Piledriver) before going for the count, and it’s a clean win for the champ, as Paolo’s still on the ground for minutes after the match is over, leaving him with no excuse this time. Winner, AND STILL EWA UNIVERSAL CHAMPION: MAGNUS CAGE. Show stats: On Tuesday, EWA Superstars goes to Spain, in Barcelona! And it will bring the following matches: 1. Matthew Morris & Dougie Horwood welcome us as always, the crowd seems pretty excited for the first ever EWA show in Spain, but they errupt into a wave of boos as Paolo Gandalfini’s music starts. - Gandalfini excuse parade Gandalfini comes into the ring rocking an unbuttoned blue polo shirt and black jeans. PG: What has went on during the Oktoberfest Bash was a disgrace. A fake champion doing his little fake defenses, helped by every possible farce – rollups, interventions, luck, homefield advantage – everything, EWA put on every possible obstacle to stop The Itallion Stallion from reaching the … Just before Gandalfini can finish his sentence, Magnus comes from behind and starts clobbering Paolo, to the crowd’s delight. It’s a bit of a back and forth, and just when Magnus was about to put Paolo in position for the Berlin Piledrive, Paolo wiggles his way out and leaves the ring, shouting slurs in Italian towards Magnus, as Magnus soaks in the crowd’s cheers. It feels like this beef is far from over. - vs. Hercules & Shining Force (Demyan Volkov & Marcello Ricci) vs. Bam Bam Johansson & EWA Tag Team Champions The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) Some underwhelming wrestling ends with Marcello Ricci getting the pin on one of the tag team champs, Kalvin Addams. Winners: Hercules & Shining Force. - Krystyna looking for a client – Maisie Laurels We get a vignette of Krystyna out in Barcelona looking for a client around Sagrada Familia. She happens to be stalking the very head of the women’s division, EWA Women’s Champion Maisie Laurels! Maisie tries to escape the stalking & fairly obnoxious Krystyna and eventually works Krystyna into locking herself in a public bathroom. Looks like Krystyna will keep looking for a client… - vs. Zofia Jankovic vs. Machiko Matsuda Zofia gets a proper babyface reaction following her match against Maisie on Night 3 of the OkBash! Zofia & Machiko both have an off night in ring, but the crowd still pops when Zofia connects with the Widowmaker and gets the W. Winner: Zofia Jankovic. - Byron drops news about EWA’s international shows Byron comes out to a mixed reaction, being in Spain, territory of ideological rival UEW. He announces that Byron will be doing many more international shows in the future, letting the fans know that Superstars will be returning to Barcelona on the 15th of next month and multiple shows in Greece, Sweden, Switzerland & Netherlands will be coming. The announcement gets a decent reaction thanks to Byron’s charismatic delivery. - vs. Eric Future vs. Jason Dempsey Dempsey bounces back with a win in a decent match against Eric Future. Winner: Jason Dempsey. - And now, the main event of the evening! vs. Hostile Intent (EWA Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory & Walker van Cleer) vs. Kruge The Executioner & Demolition Drebin Gregory & Walker have been tagging along as Hostile Intent for a bit over a year, not wrestling as a team too often but also not letting a month pass without having a match together. The guys put on a good match that ends with Walker getting the pin over Kruge, to a good reaction. Surprisingly, Bret Heartbreak was nowhere to be seen. Winners: Hostile Intent. Show stats: This week, we also get a VWA offering – VWA Prague 2024! Here’s the card: 1. Ben Markam vs. Alfonso D’Angelo 2. Matthew Macks vs. Kronos The Conqueror 3. MG: So there’s no door knocking rules at the Balowick residence, huh? CB: I guess my father cared more about me being able to knock out anyone who wants to take food off my table rather than knocking on doors. MG: Ah, the good ol’ food off my table line. What do you want, Balowick? CB: You know how to say my name properly, Michael, don’t play with it. Just wanted to let you know your face would stay intact if you wouldn’t make the walk at the end of the night, and everyone would understand it. MG: I see. Truth is, I can’t tell you your belt would stay with you if you don’t make the walk as that would be a lie. I’m a pretty good fighter, Cub, my face is pretty cute but my smile is much more charming when I have a gold belt on my shoulder, so I guess I’ll just take the risk and do the match. Winner: Kronos The Conqueror. - Magnus Cage gets back at Gandalfini Gandalfini is hanging around the backstage area with his partners for the night, Thunderbolt & Bret Heartbreak, when he decides to leave the group to take pre-warm-up supplements. But as soon as he enters the locker room, his good old nemesis comes from behind and whacks his back with a steel chair. They’ve been feuding for what feels like forever, and after a few more chairshots Magnus lets him know “it’s over between them”. Don’t know if Paolo’ll agree. - vs. Bas Hagen & Night Spyder vs. Quake & Alessandro Giordano Quake gets the pin on Hagen after an underwhelming match. Winners: Quake & Alessandro Giordano. - Walker van Cleer promo Walker is backstage, speaking straight into the camera. WvC: The best. The most remarkable. The smoothest. When I enter the ring, I show everyone why I’m the greatest in the history of this company. Say whatever about whoever, deep inside you know I’m the best. I only picked up the VWA Swiss Championship because I believe it’s a beautiful belt that has never had the glory of being defended by the best wrestler in VWA history. I give it the prestige it had been longing for. Tonight it’s another historic night for VWA, and one of the best nights in the history of the VWA Swiss Championship, because I’m defending it again, and raising it’s prestige to historic heights, as I’ve been constantly doing since winning it. - vs. VWA Tag Team Champioships: © The Perfect Criminals (Randy Haute & Merle O’Curle) vs. The Bern Boys (Hans Piccard & Fabian Schwarz) The veterans Haute & O’Curle defend in another forgettable match, with Haute getting the win after locking Piccard in the American Armbreaker. Winners, AND STILL VWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Perfect Criminals. - vs. VWA Swiss Championship: © Walker van Cleer vs. Giancarlo Cabroni In a decent match, Giancarlo surprises everyone as he defeats Walker van Cleer clean, getting him to tap to the Milan Masterlock (full nelson). Winner, AND NEW VWA SWISS CHAMPION: Giancarlo Cabroni. - vs. Thunderbolt, Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak vs. Lauro Giordano & The Unforgiven (Abominable Snowman & Litvinov) Gandalfini comes out taped up because of the earlier attack. The lads put on a decent match that ends beautifully with Bret Hearbreak hitting Heartache (Diving Double Foot Stomp) on the Snowman. Winners: Thunderbolt, Paolo Gandalfini & Bret Heartbreak. - vs. VWA European Championship: © Cub Balowicz vs. Michael Gregory Cub and Michael put on a decent match with back and forth action, but it never felt like Michael had any real chance of winning. It ends when Cub hits his deadly Left Hook twice in a row to get Michael to fall, and gets the pin. And you know, Paolo, I think all I did was fair and square, I think I’m a pretty fair guy, and I think even when you injured my arm, and even when I fought you injured, I don’t recall ever taking any shortcuts, you know? And at Oktoberfest Night 3, you laid some little conditions as if you run the game, Paolo. I’m the champ and I still beat you on your own rules. And then you come out and cry in front of everyone? And make excuses? Paolo Gandalfini’s music intrerrupts. Paolo enters the ring with a mic in his hand. PG: You call it excuses, I call it the truth! The truth that everyone can see! MC: Truth that everyone can see? Let me tell you some truth that everyone can see, and that everyone will LOVE! The crowd seems to get excited while Paolo gets annoyed, asking “What is it?”. MC: You just lost TWO Universal Title Matches in the span of THREE DAYS. You’re getting no title shot anytime soon, Paolo, did you know that? PG: THERE IS NO WAY! THERE’S NO ONE MORE WORTHY THAN ME! MC: As a matter of fact, Byron gave me a call! He really liked how Dempsey looked last week again Future, did you know that? It seems at EWA Redemption, I’ll be fighting HIM! Enraged by this news, Paolo hits Magnus with the mic and takes him down with a clothesline. He then hits Magnus with THREE CHOKESLAMS, and a medic has to come to help Magnus out the ring. - vs. Cassie O’Peter vs. Machiko Matsuda Cassie wins a forgettable match against Machiko by count out. Winner: Cassie O’Peter. - Marianne hypes up Bam Bam & Lothar Prime Marianne is backstage with Bam Bam Johansson and his partner for the night, Lothar Prime. M: Tonight, we get BACK on TRRRRRRRRACK! Bam Bam wil CRRRRRRRRRACK whoever gets in front of him, and misterrrrrrr Prrrrrrrrimeee will be sublime. Bam Bam lats out a roar, while Lothar just stares into the camera looking down to fight. - vs. w/ The Witch Doctor & Eric Future vs. Lothar Prime & Bam Bam Johansson w/ Marianne The boys put on an almost decent match, ending with Prime getting the count on Future. Winners: Lothar Prime & Bam Bam Johansson. - Krystyna looking for a client – Walker van Cleer We see images of Krystyna stalking a gyros spot near the arena earlier today. Walker van Cleer is seen entering the spot, and Krystyna runs inside, trying to figure out if he’s the right client for her. Trying to have some fun with her, Walker eventually tells her that he’ll take her as a manager if she can eat more gyros than him. A gyros and a half later, Krystyna realizes that this is a contest she cannot win, and wishes Walker good luck in his future endeavors. - vs. Zofia Jankovic & Blair Kerrigan vs. EWA Women’s Champion Maisie Laurels & Karolina Makinen The girls put on a decent effort. It seems like there’s some more heat brewing between Zofia & Maisie, and also some heat between Blair & Makinen. The match ends with Zofia hitting the Widowmaker on Makinen, then getting the pin. Winners: Zofia Jankovic & Blair Kerrigan. - Karolina & Maisie attack Blair & Zofia Pissed at watching her 2 opponents celebrate, Karolina attacks the weaker of the two, Blair Kerrigan, and Maisie takes this chance to also catch Zofia off guard and get some cheap shots in on her. The beatdown doesn’t last long at Cassie O’Peter comes in to save the babyfaces. - EWA Universal Champion Magnus Cage, Demyan Volkov & Hercules vs. Kruge The Executioner & EWA Tag Team Champions The Addams Family (Jimmi & Kalvin Addams) Magnus Cage is missing initially, because of Paolo’s earlier attack, letting Volkov & Hercules face a handicap early in the match. Obviously, Magnus eventually does come out to save his team, to a good reaction, and the match ends with Volkov getting the pin on of the tag champs, Kalvin Addams, after hitting his Partybuster (Facebuster) finisher. Winners: Magnus Cage, Demyan Volkov & Hercules. - vs. Petey Barnes & Eugen Samper vs. Bret Heartbreak & Jason Dempsey The guys put on a decent match. As Heartbreak and Dempsey keep cheating throughout the 8 minutes contest, EWA Intercontinental Champion Michael Gregory eventually has enough… …and comes out to confront Heartbreak about his cheating. He lets Bret lure him into hitting him under the refs eyes, and so Heartbreak & Dempsey get a DQ win. Barnes & Samper look annoyed at everyone, but they are wise enough to prevent a brawl, and the show goes off with Gregory standing across the defeated babyfaces on the ramp, staring daggers, into the cocky Heartbreak who celebrates his win along Cage’s next challenger, Jason Dempsey. Winners: Bret Heartbreak & Jason Dempsey (DQ). - Show stats: Next week, EWA Superstars comes back home to Germany, and will bring us 4 matches, including a title match! 1.
