Norman got up early after seeing Rocky Balboa hand it to the authority figure of one of the promotions he works for, Clubber "Mr. T" Lang, and headed out to the road to work off some of that popcorn and Jell-O he indulged in the night before. He ran for more than an hour, thus improving his stamina considerably. He then decided to get his stuff and stop by the local hockey rink, where he waved his Television Title to the kids and asked if they wanted to chase him now, which they did, and Norman proved he was tough by giving one kid an atomic wedgie that would make the toughest bully proud. Then he got outnumbered and took off quickly to the refuge of the AGPW arena, where he learned he would have the tough task of fighting Bif Wellington one on one. So he put together a gameplan, decided to switch up prematch rituals by drinking a Yoohoo, then putting on his blue tights, something the other wrestlers did not appriciate too much. He then headed out for the opening match of the evening. Smiley got up Monday morning, a day which would become an active news day in the world of wrestling. Norman first found out over the phone that the man that he destroyed the night before, Bif Wellington, had been released from Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling due to his bad showing against Smiley the night before. Then Norman read a new article in the paper, Today in Wrestling, where they went over a couple big news events from the world of wrestling a week. Monday's was the big WWF Title defense Bob Backlund had over a up and comer in the WWF, Hulk Hogan. Smiley then called both promotions he worked for because they both had events that night. AGPW told him he could team with Iron Mike Sharpe to take on Bobby Kay and Steve Casey. Right after that he called into ASW where he found out that Rick Davis requested a rematch for the Television Title because he felt Smiley screwed him out of it earlier. Norman decided to accept the challenge becuase of the big payday and headed towards the ASW Arena, where he got a gameplan together to take down Davis this time without having to get DQ'd this time, put on his blue tights, and drank his Yoohoo, then headed out to the ring. Norman got the paper early Tuesday and turned to the Today in Wrestling section, and he found this.
New World Wrestling Federation Champion Monday night on WWF's new television show, Heat of Battle, Bob Backlund faced off with Michael Hayes for the WWF Championship, and after an epic matchup, Hayes got the best of Backlund, becoming the new WWF Champion. One has to wonder if this will be a long glorious reign that will usher in a new era for the WWF, or is Hayes just warming the title for WWF's new golden boy Hulk Hogan? Time will only tell, but you can bet on whatever happens leading to WWF being the most dominant promotion the world has ever seen.
Norman spent the rest of the work going to the gym everyday and working hard, and his mat wrestling ability improved dramastically because of it. And before he knew it, it was Saturday, time for All Star Wrestling. He headed out the front door to the ASW arena, where he learned he would be defending his All Star Television Title for the third time in the month against Rick Davis. He knew exactly what he had to do against Davis to take him down now, and studied the tape from their last match, got his blue tights on, drank a Yoohoo and headed out for the opening bout of this All Star Wrestling show. He then headed back to the apartment where he caught the end the end of a fairly new show from America, Saturday Night Live, and Norman watched two Wild and Crazy Guys, the Czech Brothers, and decided he wanted to be more like them. He then got a good night of sleep because Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling was tomorrow. Norman got up early Sunday and knew today was Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling, a place he had not really established at, unlike All Star Wrestling where he was climbing up the ranks rather quickly. It was then that Norman decided that he could possibly handle one more wrestling promotion, and after the AGPW show that night he would begin shopping around for where he wanted to go wrestle. He didn't know if he would stay in Canada, maybe venture to America, or undergo a hard hard travel schedule and try to establish himself in a promotion in his homeland of England. He arrived at the AGPW arena late in the day and his assignment was a big six man tag match that had him teaming with The Cuban Assassin and Kerry Brown to take on Ron Ritchie, Tom Rocky Stone, and Phil Lafon. He put on his blue tights and drank his Yoohoo, then headed out to the ring for the opening match of the evening. Monday rolled around and Norman settled on Maple Leaf Wrestling to get into contact with about employment. They said they would call back later and let him know if they needed his services or not. So after he got off the phone with them he dialed up AGPW and ASW. AGPW told him he would be going two out of three falls with Phil Lafon. After that he got on the phone with ASW who said he would be defending his Television Title against Rick Davis yet again, except this time it would be a Hardcore Match. Smiley was not one to turn down a title defense, especially with his recent dominance of Davis in play, so he accepted that match. Smiley went down to the ASW arena and got his stuff ready, put his blue tights on, and drank his Yoohoo, thinking that if he keeps dominating Davis he will have enough money for some new attire and could sip champagne before matches. Maybe not champagne but he could graduate to a higher grade chocolate milk. He then headed out for his big hardcore title defense. He quickly headed back home, awaiting the call from Maple Leaf Wrestling telling him if he got into the promotion. He sat around awhile waiting for the call and it eventually came, and they told him that sadly they did not have any room for him at the current time. Norman then decided to go to sleep and decide where he wants his third job to be in the next few days, because ASW had it's biggest event to date coming up, ASW Wild and Wicked. Norman got up Tuesday and contacted the first promotion that came to his mind, Calgary Stampede Wrestling. He talked to Stu Hart who said that he really wasn't in need of anybody of his standing right now, but said that Smiley should get back in contact in the coming months to see if they had a spot open for him. Norman then headed down to the gym, where he paid somebody to be his sparring partner for the day, and Norman just threw punches and kicks at him all day, drastically improving his brawling. He then headed to the arena early with his Television Title in hand, getting ready for ASW biggest event since he had joined the company. When he got there he found out that he would be in a four on four match, and would be teaming with Chris Colt, Jeff Costa, and Tom Magee to take on Rick Davis, Randy Rich, Goldie Rogers, and Buzz Tyler. Norman went and got his blue tights on and drank the sacred pre match Yoohoo, then headed out for this big opening match. The rest of the week before his big event started off very eventfully for Norman Smiley. Every ASW wrestler was required to attend a conference call where Al Tomko announced that he had found a new head booker for ASW and he looked to make them the premier promotion in all of Canada. He then wasted no time in announcing the new head booker, Dick Murdoch. Murdoch promised to provide some great booking and was looking to make some stars out of ASW talent, and looked forward to meeting everybody at the event Saturday. Saturday rolled around and it was time for the weekly All Star Wrestling event, and Dick Murdoch was there greeting wrestlers at the door. He told Smiley that he liked his work as champion and wished him the best of luck because he would be defending his Television Title against none other than Rick Davis. Before this Norman had not really put two and two together, but finally did when he realized that Davis' real name is Todd Tomko, as in the owner's son. That is why he has been gettting title shot after title shot, and Norman planned to beat him as many times as it took. He put on his blue tights and drank his Yoohoo and headed out to defend his title yet again. He then headed back to the apartment to watch TV, but all he could find was hockey and paid advertisments, so Norman watched four hours of knife commercials before going to bed so he could rest for the AGPW show tomorrow. Norman got up early Sunday and had a thought, so he called Al Tomko up, and says that he has been fighting Rick Davis so much, and the matches have seemed random, so he requests a formal feud with him, and to his suprise, Tomko loves the idea and books the two men in a three match feud. Norman spends the rest of the day very happy with his great idea, then heads off to the AGPW arena, where the Sunday event was about to happen. He found out he would be teaming with Iron Mike Sharpe to take on Big Stephen Petitpas and Phil Lafon. He put on the blue tights and drank his Yoohoo, then talked gameplan with Sharpe, who just said to stay out of his way. Norman came into Monday hoping to kick off his All Star Wrestling feud with Rick Davis, and watched the match tapes between himself and Davis to get ready for it to make sure he came out of the feud looking very good. He then called AGPW to see what they were offering for the night, and they offered him a two out of three falls match with Phil Lafon. He then called ASW, and to his suprise, he was not booked in a match with Rick Davis, but with Moose Morowski instead. So Norman decided to go with the match with Lafon at Grand Prix Wrestling and see if he could pull off another gem like he did the night before. Norman arrived at the Grand Prix Wrestling Stadium show in the late afternoon, and reviewed what he had to do to beat Lafon, stay away from the Sit-Out Powerbomb, which was never an easy feat. He got on his blue tights and drank his Yoohoo, then headed out for the opening match, looking to awe this crowd for the second straight night. Norman then headed back to the apartment, a little sore after three hard nights of wrestling, and prepared for a week of hard training, and doing it all over again on next Saturday night at All Star Wrestling. Early in the week, Norman got news that ASW had scheduled a big event for Thursday night, called ASW Private World, and they wanted Norman to take part in it. So Tuesday he made the trip to the ASW arena, where he was told that the feud between himself and Rick Davis was going to kick off at the event, as Smiley would be defending his All Star Television Title against him in a hardcore match. Smiley put on his blue tights, and drank his Yoohoo, and strutted around backstage, knowing tonight's match would be a piece of cake. Norman was very angry the rest of the night that he had underestimated his opponent's abilities and it cost him his title. He then pledged to never overlook another opponent, and to gain revenge and his Television Title from Rick Davis in the coming days. Norman had Friday off before his big ASW event on Saturday, so he spent the day in the gym, where he learned better safety in the ring to ensure he would not hurt himself or somebody else. Saturday then rolled around and he headed to All Star's arena and found out he would be facing Rick Davis for match two of three in their feud. Norman planed to throw all that safety he learned out the window because he planned on hurting Davis very badly for taking his most prized possesion from him, the All Star Wrestling Television Championship. The rules of the match were hardcore as well, so Smiley could do anything he pleased to Davis. He then put on his blue tights and chugged the Yoohoo angrily in one drink, then spiked it on the floor and headed out to the arena. Norman decided that in the rubber match of the series, he would utterly destroy Davis, and make sure he didn't show his face in All Star Wrestling again. Sunday rolled around, and Norman began getting over losing his title, partly because he knew that he thouroughly embarassed Davis the night before, and he knew he most likely had another shot at Davis at ASW On Tour on Monday night. He was even in a good enough mood to watch some Three Stooges before heading to to the event at Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. There he got some bad news and some good news. The good news was that he would be in the main event of the show, and the bad news was that it was against a man he grew up watching in England, Steve Casey, who was one very tough customer. Smiley figured he was being thrown out there to make Casey look even better, and just wanted to put up a good fight against him, and he even met him before the match and they agreed to show these Canadian fans what English wrestling was all about. They then each had a Yoohoo and headed out for the main event of the evening. He then shook hands with Casey, and said that when he gets better hopefully they can have a better match and give the fans something to cheer about. Norman then headed back to his apartment, ready to get his hands around Davis' scrawny little neck at ASW, and hopefully getting a chance to win his All Star Television Title back. Norman came into Monday with one word on his mind, revenge. He also wanted to win back his All Star Television Title, but that was too many words to focus on, so the word was revenge. He focused all day on Rick Davis and thought how to beat him and win their feud. He called both promotions with shows that night, just in case, and AGPW offered him a match with Bobby Kay, and ASW said he would be fighting Davis, but it unfortunatly it would not be for the Television Title, which Smiley was not too upset about because he felt he was almost ready for a Canadian Heavyweight Title run. He then made his way to ASW arena and it was made official that tonight would be the rubber match in his feud with Rick Davis, with the winner winning the overall feud. He put on his blue tights and drank his Yoohoo, but not speaking to anybody backstage because he was so focused. Norman spent the main part of the second week training to become a better wrestler, mainly focusing on the areas of basics and mat wrestling, making him an even more dangerous technician. Saturday then rolled around before he knew it and he headed down to ASW arena, and when he went by the hockey rink the local kids made fun of him for losing the title to Rick Davis, but Norman warned them that they will end up like Davis if they keep it up, and for the first time Norman acutally scared the kids and they did not chase him through the streets. He then arrived at the arena, and was given huge news. He would be participating in the main event with the biggest names ASW has to offer. He would be tagging with Moondog Moretti and Chris Colt to take on Master Sgt. Tomko, Moose Morowski, and Timothy Flowers. He got together with his teammates backstage and they went over strategy, and Norman put on his blue tights and drank his Yoohoo, then headed out for his biggest match to date. He went to the local establishment after the show, and still nobody really recognized him, but he knew they would all soon be flocking all over him because it was just a matter of time until he was the champion of ASW. Sunday rolled around, and Norman was still very proud of his big win in the main event from the night before. And now he wanted to get even better, not in the ring, but coming across to his fans. He spent hours in front of the mirror trying different things to make him look better, and finally did, thus improving his Star Quality. He then got ready to go to the Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling arena, and found out that he would be teaming with a man that he had faced off with numerous times, Phil Lafon, to take on Steve Casey and Big Stephen Petitpas, something that would not be an easy task at all. Norman came into Monday fresh off the heels of a tough loss on Sunday night with his partner for the night, Phil Lafon. He didn't do much on Monday but watch TV, and saw one of the great episodes of The Price is Right of all time, with some guy winning a Winnabego. After this mezmerizing hour of television he called AGPW and they told him he would be in a six man tag match, teaming with Bobby Bass and Jim Garvin to take on Bobby Kay, The Great Malumba, and Buddy Lane. He then called ASW, and they offered him a sweet deal, he would be taking on the very tough Timothy Flowers, but there would be a two thousand dollar purse, the biggest Norman had seen in his career, so he could not turn it down. He headed to the arena and put on his blue tights and drank a Yoohoo, then headed out for the second match of the evening. Norman had a long week of nothingness ahead of him because he didn't have enough money to train because of his slight losing streak during the last week, but the wrestling world on the other hand was fairly busy. It saw Ric Flair defend his NWA World Title twice, and a new AWA World Champion was crowned when Wahoo McDaniel beat Nick Bockwinkle to become the new champion. News also came out of one of the promotions he works for, AGPW, that Phil Lafon had been fired to make room for new aquisition, The Assassin. Norman watched alot of The Price is Right during the week, and even made a trip to the local zoo, where he made faces at the monkeys, until they came after him and starting flinging certain objects in his direction. Saturday then rolled around, which meant All Star Wrestling, and he headed to the arena, where he found out he would be teaming with Chris Colt, Tom Magee, and Jeff Costa to take on Master Sgt. Tomko, Moose Morowski, Igor Volkoff, and Timothy Flowers. He knew coming in that his team was put in this spot to job to four of the top guys in ASW, and to let Tomko get some revenge for losing his title to Dick Murdoch, but Norman planned to fight anyways. He drank his Yoohoo out of a collectable cup from the zoo, put on his blue tights, and headed out for an almost certain beat down.
