  1. I got a chuckle out of the Manitoba Melee, I must admit.
  2. If memory serves, in TEW 2016 it meant non finishes. Logically, if that's so, it'd mean the same thing here.
  3. Wouldn't a cheap ending be something like a Dusty Finish or a disqualification?
  4. Interesting idea. Only maybe instead of melting down the Ring of Destiny, which seems like a waist since it'd prevent one of them from winning it and getting a shot at the triple crown, they force Cyclops to give them the location of three artifacts that only work when wielded together thus necessitating groups of three to fight over it? Just a suggestion.
  5. Definitely liking what I'm seeing in EMLL. I can already see somebody trying to unite the Dark and Hellmouth factions, Death's Head, Charron and Hellfire immediately come to mind for that. Death's Head wants them for the Kingdom of Blood of course but who knows the aims of Charron or Hellfire? Cyclops of course is not down with that idea. Anarchist and Trickster I could see teaming up to spread chaos throughout EMLL. Only nominally working together of course since chaos is their reason for everything which doesn't lend itself to teamwork. Captain Lucha is naturally trying to form some sort of Lucha Justice League.
  6. Cool. As soon as I can figure out why the demo is not properly downloading on my computer, I will run a five player game involving those feds.
  7. So what feds are in COTT? Did MAW becoming a developmental fed of TCW cause them to leave?
  8. Is there some way to alter the fight engine so that grapplers don't just stand there with their thumbs up their rear every single time they face a talented striker? It's ridiculous that talented wrestlers are losing fights because the game won't let them do any actual grappling because throwing punches somehow creates an anti takedown force field in this game.
  9. Also, I'm pretty sure Ricky DeColt has a great many years left in him as well.
  10. Noticed that myself when I tuned in to see how things were going now that Scrull is booking. I had hoped the clip show format was only a one time thing and lemme tell you, I'm dismayed to hear that's the regular state of the show now.
  11. Ummm, Lethal actually did have a pretty good reign. I mean he started it by holding the ROH World Title and the TV Title at the same time then held onto it for longer then anybody else. If he was actually doing poorly as a champion, they'd not have kept the belt on him for so long.
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Kluge" data-cite="Kluge" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41303" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Robbie Retro was a Next Big Thing in a save I had and his run to the World Title was the most satisfying thing I've booked in all the time I've played TEW. He had excellent chemistry with Valiant and they ended up being Main Eventers and serving under Jack Bruce in his war against Rich Money, Eric Eisan, and Remo. Valiant ended up doing a movie and came back with A* Pop and I gave him the title, only for Robbie Retro to turn on him and becoming my number one heel and having to prove to himself that he was better than Valiant. <p> </p><p> It was definitely one of those saves where after working all the way towards the goal I had no use for it after.</p><p> </p><p> But to answer your question, Sammy Smoke is my eternal boy and will always be pushed. Oliver Kobb had a fun mid-card run as "The Southern Spoiler" who never said die and picked up wins he shouldn't have, one time he lost to Remo but survived long enough to prevent Remo from winning a Beat The Clock Challange that led to a fun two-week mini-feud. Jefferson Stardust is usually the featured part of his team and treated like a future star, and if I can sign him Jacob Jett has a "Neville in 205 Live" style run.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I recall a time I tried to push Robby Retro. I never got very far in that particular save but I recall having quite a bit of luck getting him over by having him lead the crowd in the YMCA Song during his entrances. Good times.</p>
  13. Them coming over and having good matches under the NWA brand wouldn't make the NWA look bad though, would it? If anything it'd just look like good booking on their part right? Lethal and Gresham versus James Storm and Eli Drake would be a tag match I'd love to see. Lethal/Gresham fighting the Wild Cards or Outlaw Inc would be fun too.
  14. Glad to hear McIntyre won. Always liked him ever since he first joined the WWE.
  15. If it's on YouTube or something, I'll have to check it out then.
  16. Not gonna spoil anything but according to the results I read, it was a good show. The women's match was match of the night apparently.
  17. I'd say Impact has the edge over ROH somewhat, though obviously the gap's been closing with the addition of folks like Rush and Bandido to ROH. Sadly Impact doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot to keep it's stars and from the sounds of things Brian Cage is the next person to make the jump. Personally I'm of the opinion that the Sami/Tessa feud didn't need to be for the title and that Impact should've just kept it on Cage. They wouldn't be in the awkward position they are now if they had.
  18. Now that is interesting. Might start tuning in again to see how well they do with him as the booker.
  19. So if having Aldis, Kamille and the Wild Cards as the top group in the NWA was the plan all along, why did they have the Wild Cards drop the titles to the Rock and Roll Express? I mean sure they were an awesome team back in their heyday but that was a long time ago, surely Ricky and Robert ought to be putting over the tag champs these days not becoming them? Just makes the Wild Cards look weak.
  20. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="fullMETAL" data-cite="fullMETAL" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46898" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So...following Eddie Murphy's episode of SNL (and specifically his Gumby segment on Weekend Update), NWA's own Dave Marquez may have wound up stepping back onto the minefield that was the fallout from Jim Cornette's joke...<p> </p><p> </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedOther"> <iframe data-embedid="3e8a4ed830bba8c605ac5110133d6c63" allowfullscreen="" data-embed-src="<___base_url___>/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=embed&url=https://twitter.com/CWFHMarquez/status/1209014610533027841"></iframe> </div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yup, I saw that earlier. You'd think the guy would have the common sense to let it go. Also I guess he's really against getting new fans for NWA Powerrrr.</p>
  21. I recall playing a game of GSW and hired KP Avatar, Mutant and Notorious F.R.E.A.K. Since KP Avatar is nicknamed Dr. Funkenstein I decided he was a rapper with a mad scientist gimmick at which point Mutant became Funkenstein's Monster. Notorious was their Igor.
  22. I wholeheartedly agree in both cases.
  23. So Stu Bennett is the new color commentator for NWA Powerr now. Can't help thinking this is an upgrade over Cornette.
  24. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Self" data-cite="Self" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46243" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So I've watched the last four episodes, and this last one was pretty disappointing. The crowd sounded like they didn't care. Could have been been how they were mic'd, but it just took the wind out of everything's sails. <p> </p><p> PAC/Omega was really solid and MJF/Page was good despite being shorter than I wanted. There's a list of maybe 6-8 guys I'm consistently enjoying, because they look like professionals in there. PAC is a class above. I've liked everything I've seen him do.</p><p> </p><p> Didn't like Lucha Bros/Best Friends, which is disappointing because I love all four on the indies. Just seemed rushed and sloppy with missed super kicks and leg slaps everywhere. Girl's tag was similarly 'meh' for me. Shida's offense looks weak. Emi's whole deal is lame and baffling. At least the new girl got the basics right. Babyface fire. Solid moves. </p><p> </p><p> The debut of the Butcher and the Blade was some embarrassingly inept commentary. Excalibur just screaming their names, unable to answer Jim Ross's perfectly reasonable question. Who are they? If you know, tell us. Some of us don't study wrestling online. They look good though. Like actual men. I'd be interested if AEW gave us some background. </p><p> </p><p> I'm hoping next week's crowd is better.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I imagine AEW will give us some background on them eventually. Likely starting with the second show. As for the commentary team, JR himself said on twitter that he wasn't supposed to know who Butcher and the Blade were, from a storyline perspective so he's off the hook in that regard.</p>
