  1. I've been thinking of running a game with CVerse companies but replacing all of the CVerse workers with real world workers. Sort of an alternate history kind of thing (in my head, I refer to it as the Cenaverse). As part of this, I didn't want everyone to start off unemployed, so I was thinking about what workers I should use to make the rosters for each of the CVerse companies (assuming that the CVerse products are unchanged and that their histories stay at least similar). In any case, it's kind of an interesting thought experiment, so I thought I'd throw it out there for some ideas. Opportunity to mix up real world rosters a bit while still keeping things recognizable. Thoughts?
  2. I have some vague recollection that if a worker who is at least Well Known debuts with a win, they get a momentum boost, but I could be imagining things.
  3. Under Booking and Running Shows / Attendance Levels, it says that your momentum affects the audience size.
  4. This is a pretty neat-looking database, so thanks. It's a period that's been of interest to me lately, so I'll definitely be watching. Two very minor things that caught my eye looking at workers without pictures: 1. I think Cinthia Moreno should be Cynthia Moreno, and you would then have a picture for her (assuming that that's true). 2. PJ Tyler is Courtney Rush, for whom you also have a picture.
  5. I'm not really familiar with Kamen Rider, but on the vague assumption that it's kind of like Power Rangers, one approach you could take would be to reduce the number of monsters by making some of them alts of each other (even if they aren't actually the same creature). That way, only a limited subset are available at any given time, which allows you to cut the number in play by some fraction while still including everybody.
  6. I think it's mostly based on Sucesses or Failures in angles.
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Historian" data-cite="Historian" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47811" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>There isn’t a minimum time. They develop the skill from the angle regardless of length. The more they do it, the more they develop but they’ll develop from a one minute angle.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Are you sure? The handbook says "Angles that are under four minutes in length are considered 'inconsequential.' This means that although their rating can affect the show's overall grade, their effects on the workers involved (such as skill boosts, momentum changes, etc) are either extremely limited or completely negated."</p><p> </p><p> So I guess it may be possible that they'll gain skill development from angles shorter than four minutes, but the implication is that either they don't or they get very little.</p>
  8. I'm not quite sure what you mean. But here are some examples of what I mean (this is based on a quick, 1-year CVerse 2005 simulation I just ran this morning): J-Ro has eight years of experience. She worked 26 matches this year. Her experience increased from 60 to 61. That comes out to about 0.2 per 5 matches, which is at the low end for an experienced worker. Jen Neptune is a new debut this year. She worked 18 matches and gained 5 experience. That's something like 0.3 per match, which is a lot more than the 0.3 for every 2-3 matches. Alison Capone is also a new debut. She worked 37 matches and gained 10 experience. Again, that's somewhere between 0.2 to 0.3 per match, which doesn't match the equation. Tom E. Hawk (Nicky Champion) has two years of experience. He worked 67 matches and gained 16 experience. Again, that's around 0.2 to 0.3 per match. Jeri Behr has four years of experience and wrestled 155 matches this year(!) and gained only 7 points. That's someone like 0.04 per match, so the stated 0.2 per 5 matches is about right. Cherry Bomb worked 31 matches this year. She has 12 years of experience. Her experience increased from 71 to 76 - that's five points. So, about 0.3 per 2 matches, which is young worker types of experience gain, so I guess she did really well this year. Highland Warrior with 25 years of experience, gained 2 points of experience in 11 matches. That's about 0.2 per match, so he did even better than Cherry Bomb, despite being older. Eric Eisen, with 9 years of experience, gained 7 points in 45 matches. That looks pretty comparable to Cherry Bomb. I guess where I'm trying to go is that most of these numbers aren't really consistent with the ones given in the handbook (though J-Ro and Jeri are). But for a lot of workers, about 0.25 per match looks about right.
  9. I'd be a little careful with that equation because my experience is that it doesn't quite match how quickly young workers gain experience. It seems to work for older workers, but young workers seem to gain something like 1 point per 4 matches, not the 1 per 6-10 matches that that suggests. (For more experienced workers, it seems more accurate.)
  10. I'm not entirely sure I agree with this one. Probably sometimes they should give notice, but hiatus doesn't necessarily represent something under their control. I don't get the impression that Kylie Rae gave Impact much notice when she left recently, or that Roman Reigns or Edge gave that much notice when they had to go on hiatus (though I could certainly be mistaken on any or all of those).
  11. Fair enough - I guess in my head I'm imagining Bar Room Entertainment as basically the Hokey Southern Rasslin to Slobberknocker's Classic Southern Rasslin. One may be goofier and more "lighthearted" than the other, but at the end of the day, both are about wild brawls. But it sounds like that's not right. I understand that it shouldn't be easy to switch from something like that to something more "proper." I guess I just feel like there's room for a product that would represent something similarly not-quite-wrestling but with the risque part toned down a bit, and something like Skit-Based seemed like it's about right for that. You may disagree. In any case, thanks for the response.
  12. The handbook suggests that consistency works like a probability - so, unless you have a consistency of 100, there is always a chance that you'll have an off night. If you're seeing it frequently with high numbers, though, there might be something else.
  13. Hmm, some thinking: Netflix apparently has about 73 million subscribers in the USA. Let's assume Reverie is meant to be about Netflix-size; in the base data, Reverie is Huge in the USA. The US has 11 areas, but two of those are Hawaii and Puerto Rico, so let's call it 10 and say the 73 million are evenly divided between them. That's about 7.3 million subscribers per area. So you're probably smaller than Huge. NetStream in game is Big in all areas in the US; it's supposed to be a big service, but not as big as Reverie. If we compare it to, say, Hulu, Hulu apparently has about 36 million American subscribers, or about 3.6 million per area. So, if your broadcaster is an Internet broadcaster, Big might be about right; if it's Terrestrial or Cable, you might want to go one or two smaller. That's just me guessing, though.
  14. Maybe this is just me, but the time that it takes to change from one product to another (in-game, not in the editor) seems kind of random to me in a lot of cases. A few examples (from memory): Attitude Entertainment takes 1 year (I think) to change to Crash TV, despite them being called every similar. Both take 1 year to switch to Classic Sports Entertainment. In fact, if I recall correctly, Attitude Entertainment takes 1 year to switch to literally everything except Avantgarde Puroresu. PG Rated Sports Entertainment seems to be able to switch to Puroresu styles (like Strong Style Puro and, I think, Classic Mainstream Puro) faster than Classic Sports Entertainment can, which seems strange to me. Bar Room Entertainment takes 3 months to change to Deathmatch, but 9-12 (I think) to switch to Slobberknocker. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the Bar Room Entertainment product, but I would have thought it would be much closer to Slobberknocker (and even Wrestling Burlesque) than to Deathmatch. Risque Comedy takes 1 year to change to anything except Risque Adult or the two burlesque products. It would seem like Lighthearted Entertainment or Skit-Based would be reasonable shifts from there, and this would help companies starting with a risque product to shift out of a risque product and into a more entertainment-focused one. This isn't to say that the times themselves are necessarily off, or that I'm looking to get these products specifically changed, but I feel like A) The maximum time is used so often that it kind of feels like the default rather than denoting that two products are actually very different from each other, B) When trying to gradually change products, it's very difficult to predict which way you should go, and C) I often end up feeling kind of trapped with the product I started with. I feel like this is something that could use a little revisiting.
  15. I've been enjoying this one a lot, so I'll give predictions a go. Knockouts Championship: ODB vs. Mickie James © vs. Alissa Flash This one's tricky. The three-way seems to imply that James will lose (since she's probably more over than either of the others), but it's tough to predict who wins. I went with ODB because that seems to open up more storyline options. Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Scarlet Envy © vs. Oblivion If Oblivion has a big surprise showing up tonight, then I feel like it's gotta be them. Velvet Sky in a Cage: Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne I see the Beautiful People breaking up, so I'm guessing Love wins and burns her bridges with Velvet in the process. Feast or Fired: Hamada vs. Traci Brooks. vs. Daffney vs. The Lovely Lacey vs. Velvet Sky vs. ????? Not really clear how this match works, but I'm guessing ????? wins the Knockouts Championship opportunity, Velvet wins the tag team opportunity (though per my guess above, I'm thinking she might end up tagging with Rayne?), and... Daffney gets fired? I'll guess that maybe Daffney is retiring, but I could also see Traci Brooks getting shown the door or maybe Velvet getting poached. Knockouts Tag Tournament: Sarita & Taylor Wilde vs. The Bitch Breakers Knockouts Tag Tournament: Ice Magic vs. HBICs I kind of want to go with the faces in both halves of this, but I feel like Sarita and Taylor Wilde already feuded with Oblivion and maybe it makes a bit more sense to push up Ice Magic. Plus, Jazz won on the last show. Knockdown Battle Royal: Toxxin vs. Sharmell vs. Miss Tessmacher vs. Sojo Bolt vs. Mercedes Martinez vs. 5 other participants I'd like to see Mercedes Martinez win, but I'll guess Tessmacher instead. Story-wise, she seems like she's the only one who's got something going on. Bonus: 1 - Who is the mystery participant in the Feast or Fired Match I doubt that WWE let Gail Kim go, but just for kicks, I'll say Gail Kim. 2 - Who will get the Pink Slip Guessing Daffney, as mentioned above. 3 - Who are the two former Knockouts who will compete in the Knockdown Battle Royal Hmm. Say... Rhaka Khan and Salinas? 4 - Who will win the Tag Tournament I'm guessing Ice Magic. 5 - Who is the 'Bringer of Oblivion'? Uhhh.... It said "he" and "return," so, uh... Raven? I have no idea.
  16. I don't remember seeing any blank products (and opening it up, I see the same thing you do). I think Competitive Entertainment was added in a patch, so it could be that Iceblaster is running an old version. (I've been enjoying the mod so far. One thing I noticed in line with what's mentioned above is that I think I saw Kimona in there twice).
  17. When you're booking a match, under the list of match types, there is a button called Search. It's actually a filter. You can right-click on it to turn it off and show all of the match types, or click on it to change the filter to show specific other options.
  18. I think it's based on time in segments or number of segments, but I'm not sure. So it will go away faster if you're running a big company with house shows and weekly TV than if you're running a small company putting on monthly shows. But that's just my understanding - I'm not certain.
  19. In reality, every worker has one value for each stat. The range represents uncertainty in that you don't know what the number is until you've seen the wrestler compete many times. You can turn this off by unchecking Enable Scouting under Preferences.
  20. I think I remember seeing a comment in the Tech Support forum that something like this could happen if the company lacks workers of the appropriate perception for the title. For example, if a company has a primary title but lacks stars or major stars, the title is likely to go undefended (or stay vacant).
  21. When you're booking a show, at the bottom of the first screen there is an option called Locker Room Controls. If you click on it, there is an option to meddle. If you choose that, you can pick two workers and try to improve or damage their relationship. This could do what you want, but it can also backfire. I think it's influenced by your character's Diplomacy skill.
  22. There's a 2010 mod (for TEW 2020) around that has some logos, but I'm pretty sure those are non-canon; they didn't have any in TEW 2010, and I doubt that they had any before that and lost them.
  23. The handbook says that angles that are under four minutes in length have greatly reduced effects on worker popularity and skill growth.
  24. One thing to note - if you're using workers this way, it is cheapest not to ask them to work as road agents. Just put them in. If you ask them to become a road agent and they agree, they will probably ask for a raise shortly after. While I would agree with this at extremely low popularity, I'm currently running a promotion with 8 popularity, 95% matches, not re-using any workers each show, and only running tag team matches, and I'm still turning a monthly profit. So I don't think it is especially necessary to avoid tag team matches while Tiny (I'm not even at Tiny yet).
  25. It would be nice to have a checkbox in profiles in the editor that doesn't do anything in-game but that can be mass edited and filtered on. That way, if you're editing a mod with 2000 workers or a bunch of companies or so, you could just check the box as you finish each one, and then later you could filter on the ones you haven't checked off yet.
