    LSW Gold Rush 2022
    Tuesday, Week 2, August 2022
Held in Denver, CO (Mid South) in front of 3,236 people
    78,010 viewers on WrestleWorld

The new LSW Brass Knuckles champ opens up the show, arriving in the ring with a mysterious black bag in his hands, celebrating with his nutty and eclectic ways his first title win in Lone Star Wrestling. To celebrate this accolade, "The Stinger" has one idea in mind, defend the title strap right here in Denver, Colorado! The facepainted vigilante doesn't care if it's Davis Wayne Newton wanting his rematch, if it's "Game Changer" Xavi Ferrera, if it's Dreadnought, or anyone else backstage. Later Southern Stinger will return to this ring, ready to rumble, and he will take on everybody to defend his custom-made Brass Knuckles championship which he pulls out of his bag and shows to everybody! [27]

    David Stone vs Flash Savage

In an All-Canadian bout, the high-flying Flash Savage gets off to a rocket start and puts babyface David Stone in trouble, as "The Tiny Terror" delivers some tough shots and daredevil techniques. Eventually though, David Stone's crystalline talent emerges and, after a decent bout lasting eight minutes, the next gen star hits his Stone Cutter to seal the deal: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! This match gets the crowd hotter. [48]

We're heading backstage, where "The Draw" Cali Slick is already dressed up and ready for the main event, entering his 3rd Gold Rush match in three years of LSW. The Californian heel talks to his agent Vinny Cruz, while the security guard Big Smash Clay just stands behind Cruz's back with his hands crossed and serious face as always. Cali Slick tries to convince both himself and his agent of how tonight is his night, and how he will become the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ. Vinny Cruz always seems a bit distracted, however, checking on his phone a couple of times before pondering who might be the sixth unknown competitor in the Gold Rush bout. Both Cali Slick and Vinny Cruz do a masterful job of improvising. [47]

    lsw-tagteam.png
8-Tag No. One Contenders Battle Royal

In a decent wild brawl, sixteen competitors start the match, representing eight tag teams: The American Cobras, The Gonzalez Family, The Dynamite Express, The Wild Cats, The Oklahomans, The Empire, The Big Guns Reloaded, and The Hot Taggs. The first to go were both Taggs, who after starting out very aggressively are eliminated within moments, as The American Cobras on one side and The Wild Cats on the other side of the ring throw out Kalder and Wolfie respectively. Unfortunately, a bad landing from Jules Night causes him an injury as he breaks his arm, being eliminated immediately by The Big Guns Reloaded without aggravating the injury. Tigre Salvaje Jr showcases his flashiness, but eventually gets punished by Brutus Milano and Antonio Del Veccio. The next eliminated are Marco Gonzalez, Bandit Waylon Walls, Jason Patterson, Antonio Del Veccio and El Jaguar. Storm Spillane combines his action with Marvel Malloy to eliminate Carlos Gonzalez also, but is immediately eliminated by Cam Jones and Syd Collier of The Dynamite Express, who remain the only intact pair in the battle royal. Brutus Milano temporarily allies with Outlaw Wes Revell to skillfully counter The Dynamite Express, but at the first useful moment "The Outlaw" tries and almost succeeds in eliminating Brutus Milano, breaking the alliance of convenience. The Dynamite Express come back to eliminate Wes Revell, but after about ten seconds Marvel Malloy pulls the rabbit out of the hat, surprisingly eliminating Cam Jones! We're down to three competitors; Brutus Milano, Marvel Malloy and Syd Collier. A nice three-way tussle goes on for another minute, but in the end "The American Cobra" manages to triumph as the sole survivor, eliminating Brutus Milano and Syd Collier to the applause of the audience. [49]

After the match, Storm Spillane gets back inside the ring to hug Marvel Malloy, whose fantastic run delivered The American Cobras a title shot. And speaking about the championships, Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta come out with their golds around their waists in an all-babyface staredown. The Heartbreak Express go over and offer a handshake to The American Cobras, who respectfully reciprocate. Next month, LSW Thunderstrike 2022; it's The Heartbreak Express against The American Cobras for the LSW Tag Team titles. [45]

In the backstage angle, Prime Time Jack Pryde acts just like a real a**hole backstage, teasing and bullying a poor catering lady, before mocking her alongside his valet Venus Angeletti. Nothing that relevant, just a way to show "Prime Time" in front of the camera and highlight once again how his attitude has not changed, and how he is still a blowhard. The announcing team wonders what the future holds for Jack Pryde, and play-by-play commentator Alfonso Garcia hints that his hope is that someone will humble the cocky young gun for good. [30]

    cobra.png   texashangman.png
    Cobra vs Texas Hangman

After clashing in a three-on-three match, Cobra and Texas Hangman, former LSW tag team champs, go one-versus-one, while "The Preacher" Travis Century attends the match at ringside, inciting his adept Cobra and cursing the wayward sinner Texas Hangman. In a decent match, Texas Hangman goes for the Choke Slam after ten minutes, but Cobra sticks two fingers in his eyes, before being handed the steel chain by Travis Century to choke the big heavyweight babyface. Obviosly, ref has no other chance but to call the disqualification. [50]

Cobra's fury doesn’t stop even after repeated bell rings and warnings from the referee. Texas Hangman continues to get choked from behind, while Travis Century goes face-to-face with him and labels him with the worst epithets. "The Hangman," however, has a surge of pride! With his left strong hand he manages to create separation between his neck and the steel chain, being able to breathe again and getting back on his feet before grabbing "The Preacher" around the neck with his right hand. Travis Century screams in terror, being saved by Cobra, who loosens his grip on the neck to hit "The Hangman" in the back. "The Preacher" bails out, while Texas Hangman manages to turn around and snatch the steel chain from Cobra's hands, who in turn escapes out of the ring. "The Hangman" then grabs a microphone and calls out the fact of how he is now unchained, free from the yoke of "The Preacher." Travis Century responds with wrath and theatrics, saying that The Strong Hand of the Lord will strangle Hangman's neck with his chain, punishing him just as one would a REBEL DOG! [42]

We're heading backstage where "Double J" Jared Johnson crosses the path of LSW Texas Heavyweight champ Kip Keenan, and the two babyfaces wish each other good luck for tonight's Gold Rush match. James Prudence also crosses their path, playing a bit on the tensions he has with Kip Keenan after their last match, and teasing Jared Johnson amicably as well. Quentin Queen also joins the conversation, as the blackheart weasel, who tonight will take part in the most important match of his career so far, tries to sow discord between the babyfaces, especially between Kip Keenan and James Prudence, succeeding quite well and performing well by going off-script. A nice angle to hype the main event. [55]

    alcoleman.png   robreynolds.png
Al Coleman vs Rob Reynolds in a Submission match
In a decent match, two rivals collide once again, but this time it really seems to be the showdown between the two. "Mr. Submission" Al Coleman has one last chance to live up to his nickname and submit Rob Reynolds, while "The Motor City Menace" has lately been claiming that he would have a better chance of making Al Coleman tap out than "Mr. Submission" would have of actually submitting him. A very psychological bout, quite slow, with attacks aimed at the body parts later targeted for a submission hold. Rob Reynolds is undoubtedly out of his comfort zone but performs well, applying several dangerous submission moves. Eventually though, after sixteen minutes of action, Al Coleman is able to lock Rob Reynolds in his Ankle Brace! "The Motor City Menace" resists for several seconds, trying everything to break free, but in the end the babyface has no choice but to tapping out. "Mr. Submission" wins the match and lives up to his nickname. [56]

Davis Wayne Newton walks backstage on his way to the ring to clash again with Southern Stinger and regain "his" Brass Knuckles title. In front of him, however, stands Dreadnought, who menacingly blocks his path. The behemoth's agent Laura Catherine Huggins also appears alongside her client and addresses DWN, asking him what his intentions are. Once her concerns are confirmed, the agent hints that it would be very kind of Davis Wayne Newton to step aside tonight and let Dreadnought have the opportunity to confront his rival Southern Stinger in a No DQ match, once and for all. The former champ tries to refuse, but Laura Catherine Huggins makes it clear to him how this kindness is practically mandatory, unless DWN wants to get beaten up right here, right now by Dreadnought. DWN, reluctantly, is forced to give up the title shot to Dreadnought. The behemoth also makes it clear that his interference in the upcoming match would also be unwelcome, since it is a matter between Dreadnought and "The Stinger. [58]

    lsw-brassknuckles-stinger.png

    southernstinger.png   dreadnought.png
Southern Stinger (c) vs Dreadnought in a No DQ match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title

In a bout that has decent reaction from the crowd, Southern Stinger goes straight at Dreadnought, mainly taking advantage of the help of a steel chair to counter his rival's physical overpower. After almost eight minutes, "The Stinger" manages to build a comeback after a bit of suffering, however, being assaulted from behind by Davis Wayne Newton! The former champ appears out of nowhere and blindsides him and, despite the disapproval, the referee has his hands tied as this is a No DQ match where anything goes. DWN takes the steel chair, waits for the champ to get back on his feet and goes for the swing! "The Stinger" ducks it though, and Davis Wayne Newton almost hits Dreadnought on the head with the chair! The arrogant blondie stops in time, but Dreadnought does not appreciate the interference by DWN and keeps his word, punishing him by grabbing him hard and connecting a Dread Bomb on him. The facepainted madman, aka Southern Stinger, however, has regained control of the steel chair and swings it against his opponent: CHAIR MULTIPLE SHOTS ON THE LEGS! Dreadnought collapses to his knees: MULTIPLE CHAIR SHOTS ON THE BACK! The behemoth takes the blow, screams fearfully at "The Stinger" that swings the chair one last time: CHAIR SHOT ON THE SKULL! OUCH! And the champ goes for the pin: 1 ... 2 .. 3! Southern Stinger makes defense number one of the LSW Brass Knuckles title in this no disqualification bout, leaving the ring after the bell with is nutty smile. [43]

Kip Keenan is the first to make his entrance, supported by the over three thousand fans in attendance tonight. Cali Slick, Jared Johnson, Quentin Queen and James Prudence also join the ring, as we're now waiting for the sixth unknown participant. Ricky Dale Johnson walks out on stage specifically to introduce him, certainly giving him a nice relevance: a massively successful amateur wrestler who twice won the American national championship at college level, a former world champ, and one of the most lethal legitimate athlete in this business. Please welcome, SHOOTER SEAN DEELEY! [56]

6-Man Gold Rush match for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
Certainly not at the level of last year, but this six way match turns out to be pretty entertaining, with good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. With the LSW Texas Heavyweight championship up for grabs for the first competitor able to successfully pin or submit one of his opponent, each near falls and pin break charges this tense bout. Sean Deeley is a bit rusty, but that will soon go away once he's got a few more matches under his belt. “The Shooter” gets a straight push from the beginning, outwrestling anyone in the first minutes of the match and shhowing how much of a wrestling machine he is. In terms of in-ring work, Kip Keenan is head and shoulder above everyone else. After over twenty minutes all six participants are tired and hurt, the spotlights are all for Kip Keenan and James Prudence inside the ring, fighting for dominance. James Prudence locks Kip Keenan in his Prudential Pain Plan! The submission lock is perfect and "The American Eagle" starts to fade, and his loss seems inevitable at this point, James Prudence is seconds from finally becoming the cham... NO! Out of nowhere here it comes Quentin Queen, assaulting James Prudence and shattering his glory dreams about winning the title strap tonight. The blackheart weasel interrupts the hold and then manages to connect his signature Q-Ball on "Platinum" who rolls outside of the ring, exhausted. Shooter Sean Deeley gets back in the ring and sends first Quentin Queen, then Jared Johnson, then Cali Slick to suplex city with his multiple picture-perfect Suplexes. "The Shooter" seems on fire, but eventually he is held near the ropes by Jared Johnson, and a vicious Spear between the ropes by Cali Slick sends himself, Jared Johnson and Sean Deeley outside of the ring, all down and out. Quentin Queen struggles back to his feet, still stunned, and behind him here comes Kip Keenan back in pomp, lifting him up on his shoulders: ONE-WINGED EAGLE! 1 .. 2 .. 3! Kip Keenan wins the Gold Rush match in twenty-five minutes and makes defense number four of the LSW Texas Heavyweight championship. [58]

It should be noted that Dynamite saw a significant ratings bump over last week.

As expected Matt. Back over 800k right? After a slow decline, this week they finally had a decent bump not because people were interested about the show, but thanks to promoting a backstage scuffle video between one of their former employees, who's a major draw in another promotion, and one of their current employees, who passed as weak. A cheap one-week bump it's all they got, and we're not talking about incredible numbers anyway.

People tuned in to see the drama, and without drama next week they won't show up again, 'cause the product is just bad unfortunately. TV ratings are stagnant, there is no growth despite throwing millions and millions of dollars on free agents in the last 2/3 months. They signed the "best wrestler in the world" and after a couple of weeks they booked him to a 20 MINUTES (!!!) match to be able to defeat an unknown midcarder like Kyle Fletcher. They signed NJPW icon Kazuchika Okada, immediately paired him with The Young Bucks who are in an endless downward spiral, and made him win a tertiary useless championship. They need to change things asap, they're dying and lots of fans just begun to realize it.

  6. @overthetop2 I think CM Punk obviously has a big ego and he has no problem going face-to-face with those who behave badly (from his point of view) to confront them. Things tend to get out of control with this attitude. It's ok to judge him harshly! It's ok to think he made a mistake.

I just don't get how you can lash out at CM Punk's actions and turn a blind eye to the obvious responsibilities of others just cause you like them. It's intellectually unfair. Midcard acts at best that never draw a buck in their life going into business for themselves by verbally attacking the major draw of the company and jeopardize your business. IRL EVPs physically attacking one of their company's worker. It's a clown show, and that's all thanks to TK.

I have the opposite view. Perry showed maturity by not being the aggressor or stupidly risking his job by turning it into a fist-fight. That's the type of people AEW need backstage not immature hotheads. I'm not a violent person and would only ever hit someone in extreme self-defense to avoid serious injury or death.

So ... Jack Perry told off multiple staff members who advised him against breaking a rental car window, Jack Perry shot at AEW biggest star live during their biggest PPV ever, coming backstage and inviting CM Punk to "do something about it" when confronted ... And Jack Perry showed maturity? I'm sorry, at this point it's like talking to a brick wall.

Well the video was underwhelming because of the lack of audio and only 1 camera angle but Punk was not proven right.

Punk said he walked up to him, they talked for a bit, Perry provoked him verbally (w/out audio we can not confirm/deny it), he then put Perry in a hold and Samoa Joe was there and told him to stop. The footage shows exactly this lol

I don't really get how an attempted punch as they separated them (not multiple sucker punches as you mentioned) might change something, since until a moment before he was choking him out.

Again, how could AEW thought this was a good move for them? It does nothing for them.

    3 hours ago, milamber said:

Still hasn't admitted he did anything wrong or acted unprofessionally either.

It's obviously wrong to put your hands on another person, I don't think we need CM Punk to understand that lol but locker room fights always happened and always will, depending on the tensions inside it. One of the biggest responsibilities of AEW and Tony Khan to me is not being able to prevent these tensions from arising.

Preview for LSW Gold Rush 2022

    David Stone vs Flash Savage
"The Tiny Terror" Flash Savage returns to action after several months of absence since his tag team partner Ozzie Goldstein left the Mid South. The heel high-flyer will go one on one against David Stone in an all-Canadian singles bout. The next gen star debuted almost one year ago during the King of the Rodeo tournament, eliminating Flash Savage. Now that David Stone built some momentum and gained some more experience, eve's predictions have him favored for this rematch. Will this be the fifth win in a row in singles action for him? Or will Flash Savage be able to return to LSW with force, snatching a W?

8-Tag No. One Contenders Battle Royal
The eight tag teams that will take part in the over-the-top-rope battle royal to decree the new no. one contenders at the LSW tag team championships held by The Heartbreak Express have been announced. Former tag champs The American Cobras, The Dynamite Express who are on a roll since their debut, The Gonzalez Family, Mexican luchadores The Wild Cats, young babyfaces The Oklahomans, The Big Guns Reloaded representing The Most Wanted, The Empire, and The Hot Taggs. Which tag team will survive in this wild brawl, as a duo or as a sole survivor, to snatch a title shot?

    Cobra vs Texas Hangman
After months and months of tensions within The Strong Hand faction, led by "The Preacher" Travis Century and his annoying religious beliefs, Texas Hangman broke free from its yoke by paying dearly for this act, being strangled with a steel chain from his former partner Cobra. "The Hangman" was strangled, as ironic as that sounds, unleashing his fury. Now the big heavyweight is unchained though - no pun intended - and he's ready to take on Cobra, whom he recently pinned in a massive three-on-three match last month. Will Cobra suffer the same fate in one-on-one? Or will Texas Hangman come out with broken bones?

Al Coleman vs Rob Reynolds in a Submission match
It’s showdown time between "Mr. Submission" Al Coleman and "The Motor City Menace" Rob Reynolds. Despite his dreadful nickname, Al Coleman has still never managed to submit his former friend, while Rob Reynolds has lately been teasing his rival by claiming that he would have a better chance of making him tap out than "Mr. Submission" would have of actually submitting him. With all this in mind, Ricky Dale Johnson thought there was no better way to prove who’s right than to officialize a Submission match between them. The only way to win the bout is by making your rival tap out to you! The only way to prove who's the better man is by submitting the other! A pretty decisive way to close this rivalry.

6-Man Gold Rush match for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
And in the main event, one of the most exciting bouts in Lone Star Wrestling will see the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ Kip Keenan defend his championships from the assault of five contenders! In a six way match from which the first one able to pin or submit one of his opponents will emerge the winner, taking away with him the LSW Texas Heavyweight title strap, we'll see "The American Eagle" Kip Keenan, "Platinum" James Prudence, "The Draw" Cali Slick entering his 3rd Gold Rush match, "Double J" Jared Johnson, Quentin Queen, and a sixth participant still unknown, but about whom Ricky Dale Johnson has given some hints, saying that he is one of the deadliest legitimate athletes in this business. Who's walking out with the Gold?

    LSW Summer Stampede 2022
    Sunday, Week 1, July 2022
Held in Dallas, TX (Mid South) in front of 3,058 people
    74,854 viewers on WrestleWorld

To open the show, the Texas Heavyweight champ Kip Keenan calls out James Prudence, once again saying it's sorry for how their last match went as Keenan won the bout by pinfall despite Prudence's hand being on the lower rope. The two babyfaces clear up by showing sportsmanship, although James Prudence still seems a bit scarred from not winning the main championship. In a very good segment, "Platinum" mentions that the best way to clear the air is running it back! Another one-on-one against Kip Keenan for the Texas Heavyweight title strap, and "The American Eagle" replies that it would be a pleasure! [67] Suddenly, however. The Big Guns Reloaded show up to interrupt the two babyfaces, as Outlaw Wes Revell and Bandit Waylon Walls are out here to put The Most Wanted faction back in the center of Lone Star Wrestling. After a few increasingly tense exchanges, Mya Catalan is sent out here on behalf of boss Ricky Dale Johnson, announcing a tag team match right here, right now. It looks like Kip Keenan and James Prudence will team up to start the show! [45]

    jamesprudence.png kipkeenan.png   banditwaylonwalls.png outlawwesrevell.png
James Prudence, Kip Keenan vs The Big Guns Reloaded (Walls, Revell)

The two members of The Most Wanted faction take some heat by putting in difficulty both beloved babyfaces to start the bout. However, The Big Guns jam after nine minutes, as James Prudence submits Bandit Waylon Walls with a Prudential Pain Plan to win the bout. In terms of in-ring work, the champ Kip Keenan shows that he's head and shoulders above everyone else. The only negative note, Keenan and Prudence don't work well as a team, and their timing is all over the place. [54]

With spirits already inflamed ahead of tonight's three-on-three main event, babyface Texas Hangman and heel Cobra start brawling when they cross paths backstage. "The Preacher" Travis Century adds excitement to the confrontation, inciting his adept and cursing "The Hangman" while the former tag champs continue to pound each other. After about thirty seconds, multiple staff members and security personnel manage to separate the two, who mutually promise each other more beatings in tonight's main event. [45]

    primetimejackpryde.png   tavonblakejr.png
Prime Time Jack Pryde vs Tavon Blake Jr

A midcard singles bout is next as Prime Time Jack Pryde, accompanied by his valet Venus Angeletti, takes on "The Grappler" Tavon Blake Jr. The shortest match of the night, after almost seven minutes "Prime Time" pokes the eye of his babyface opponent, before hitting him with a PrydeFall and pinning him to secure the victory. Another W for Jack Pryde who in this 2022 has certainly made some progress in the LSW rankings. Venus Angeletti does some good work at ringside. [43]

    antoniodelveccio.png brutusmilano.png   eljaguar.png tigresalvajejr.png
The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)

The debuting New Yorkers, Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano, collide with The Wild Cats in tag team action. Antonio Del Veccio's thug gimmick seems great, while Brutus Milano's powerful bully gimmick seems ok still. After nine minutes, the babyface luchadores are overwhelmed by the two debuting heels, and Brutus Milano submits El Jaguar with an Italian Backbreaker. The Empire find success in their first bout here in the Mid South, it will be interesting to see their path in a stacked tag team division. Performance-wise, Antonio Del Veccio is a bit rusty, but that should go away once he's got a few more matches under his belt. [53]

We cut backstage where Texas Heavyweight champ Kip Keenan enters Ricky Dale Johnson's office, as the boss summoned "The American Eagle" to tell him that next month the promotion will hold LSW Gold Rush 2022! And yes, Kip Keenan guessed it, in the main event of the show he'll defend his Texas Heavyweight title against five fearsome contenders, in a Gold Rush match! Obviously a tough pill to swallow, but the champ proves himself the ultimate babyface, not complaining to his boss and promising to honor that championship and his reign. In dismissing him, the mean boss leaves a little spoiler for Kip Keenan; James Prudence will be one of the five opponents within the Gold Rush match! [65]

    davidstone.png   maverickchipmartin.png
David Stone vs Maverick Chip Martin

After the loss by Outlaw Wes Revell and Bandit Waylon Walls in the opener, Maverick Chip Martin tries to take home a victory for The Most Wanted faction in this one versus one against babyface David Stone. In a poor match, in which "The Maverick" seems off his game, David Stone eventually comes out on top by hitting a Stone Cutter to pin his opponent in eight minutes. Another singles win for the Canadian next gen star. [44]

Busy stretching backstage, babyface Rob Reynolds is caught off guard by the arrival of Al Coleman, and immediately goes on the defensive. "Mr. Submission" however says he is not here to brawl, there will be time in the main event to kick Reynolds' butt. The focus of the conversation between the two rivals returns to once again the fact that Al Coleman never submitted Rob Reynolds, and that Rob Reynolds attempted to submit Al Coleman lately. The two rivals exchange a few more challenging words in this segment, adding further tension in their relationship. [43]

    johnnyneedham.png ralphliotta.png   kaldertagg.png wolfietagg.png
The Heartbreak Express (Needham, Liotta) vs The Hot Taggs (Kalder, Wolfie)
In a non-title match, the LSW Tag Team champions Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta, accompanied by Sweet Tabitha, take on the heel twins from Montana, Kalder and Wolfie Tagg, in a poor bout. After managing to counter their opponents' physicality, The Heartbreak Express defeat The Hot Taggs in seven minutes, when Johnny Needham delivers a picture-perfect Moonsault on Wolfie Tagg to pin him. [42]

As the announcing team wonders who will be the future contenders at the LSW Tag Team championships, we move backstage where Cam Jones and Syd Collier, tag team partners forming The Dynamite Express, are having a discussion with babyfaces The American Cobras about who is most deserving of getting a title shot. Also joining the debate is The Gonzalez Family, with whom Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane had a rivalry recently. All three teams try to force their words on each other, only being placated by the arrival on the scene of boss Ricky Dale Johnson, faithfully accompanied by his assistant Mya Catalan. RDJ announces that, to determine the No. One Contenders to the tag team title straps held by The Heartbreak Express, next month at LSW Gold Rush 2022 will be held an 8-Tag Battle Royal match! [44]

    quentinqueen.png   jasonpatterson.png
    Quentin Queen vs Jason Patterson

With his fellow Oklahoma countryman and tag partner Jules Night on his corner, babyface Jason Patterson goes one versus one against Quentin Queen, a whole different animal from what we have become accustomed to in his first two years of LSW. In a bout that doesn't have much heat, the vicious blackheart Quentin Queen defeats Jason Patterson with ease in six minutes, unleashing his aggression and pinning his opponent after a Q-Ball. Pretty bad chemistry between these two when fighting each other. [34]

His title defense is up next, and Davis Wayne Newton tries to get a head start by crossing Dreadnought and his agent Laura Catherine Huggins backstage. The Brass Knuckles champ, who will soon be going one-on-one against Southern Stinger, tries to convince them to interfere in his No DQ bout and help him, not so much because he cannot defeat "The Stinger" alone, but rather because he is aware of the terrible urge Dreadnought has to annihilate that facepainted vigilante. Laura Catherine Huggins neither accepts nor refuses the invitation, limiting herself for now to wishing "Triple Threat good luck." [49]

Davis Wayne Newton (c) vs Southern Stinger in a No DQ match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title
In a decent match, Davis Wayne Newton immediately plays dirty against his opponent, taking advantage of the brass knuckles rules typical of title defences in this championship. After taking control of the match, Southern Stinger punishes with multiple chair shots the back of the champs, but before closing the match here comes Dreadnought! The heel behemoth has decided to accept DWN's invitation and he's out here punishing his rival Southern Stinger. Luckily for the facepainted vigilante, Xavi Ferrera once again comes out to even the odds, helping Southern Stinger knock out Dreadnought in similar fashion to what happened last month in their tag team match. We reach twelve minutes on the clock, and Xavi Ferrera gets demolished by a CHAIR SHOT! Davis Wayne Newton hits him on the head, attempts to do the same on his challenger Southern Stinger but he reverses it into his submission move: STINGER FALL! "Triple Threat" despairs, screams in pain, and eventually has no other chance than to tap out! Southern Stinger is the new LSW Brass Knuckles champion! [53]

The crew takes us backstage, as the cameraman saw Kip Keenan and James Prudence talking and requested the line. The two babyfaces notice the cameraman's arrival, but go on talking as if nothing happened. James Prudence is not thrilled at the idea of the Gold Rush match, he would have preferred a new title shot in singles action but, hey, better this than nothing. With a hint of snark, "Platinum" politely asks Kip Keenan not to be pinned or submitted by anyone but him. The LSW Texas Heavyweight champ drops the taunt elegantly, promising to give 100 percent as always to triumph even against all odds in a lethal six way match. Both workers clearly enjoy having the freedom to go off-script and perform well. [70]

Al Coleman, Cali Slick, Cobra vs Jared Johnson, Rob Reynolds, Texas Hangman
And in the main event of the night, three babyfaces go up against three heels as their rivalries intertwine in this trios bout. In a match that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd here in Dallas, the canvas is a little different than usual as the babyfaces have more physicality than the heels, who rely more on dirty tactics and quick tags. Cali Slick is really off his game, while is rival Jared Johnson has the best in-ring performance among them all. After eighteen minutes and multiple near falls, Texas Hangman puts his strong hand - pun very intended - around the neck of his former partner Cobra, who was trying to illegally attack him with his steel chain, managing to hit him with a Choke Slam! While going for the pinfall, Jared Johnson and Rob Reynolds guard him, and Cali Slick and Al Coleman fail to break the pin. The babyfaces take home the victory in the main event, and what a huge pinfall for "The Hangman" over Cobra. "The Preacher" Travis Century despairs at ringside, as his former rebel executioner has just defeated his adept. [61]

Thus, Rock gets involved, and in exchange for being allowed to win the WWE title as an ex-AEW talent, Cody Rhodes has to job to The Rock and then get bailed out by Cena and Undertaker the following night.

Just to be clear, in your opinion, losing to The Rock + Roman Reigns in tag team action after they cheat their way during the match is jobbing?

Also, isn't it one of the most traditional things about pro wrestling to see a few babyfaces coming out to evening the odds against the outnumbered heel and his crew? Does it diminish Rhodes' win?

You see Cody receiving an ex-AEW talent "special" treatment? I don't see it but maybe you can convince me otherwise! I see a former WWE guy coming back brighter and better, re-debuting at Mania by beating Rollins, going 3-0 against one of the biggest stars of the company in the last decade, winning back-to-back Rumble, headlining two WrestleManias, not pinned/submitted clean once if I'm not wrong about it, dethroning the megastar of this generation. The way you talk about it, it sounds like WWE put him through hell lol

EDIT: by the way we'll probably agree on the fact that 100 other things don't make sense still lol by that's really a modern wrestling problem imo, not just WWE

Finally up to date. Just started reading the diary in the last week. I've really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work

It made me start playing TEW again. So thanks for the inspiration

Hi man! Thx for the kind words ;) really appreciate it! Happy u get your hands on TEW once again, which company are you using?

  14. Wrestling really is a simple business. You build your biggest babyface and finally you make him win the main championship in the main event of your biggest show, and everybody goes home happy.

Genuinely so happy for Cody, for Dusty, for the entire Rhodes family. Wrestling has more than one royal family, but the crown is on the head of a Rhodes now. All hail the king.

Having Matt and Nick on this angle is the perfect opportunity to finally see The Young Bucks in a segment that attracts viewers and doesn't make them change the channel lol

EDIT: And how about we roll the tape on Brawl Out too?

Either Rock turns on Roman tonight

Hope Cody is going to win against all odds tonight in a clean way, the ultimate babyface miracle. Otherwise I'm afraid the spotlight will be once again on Rocky instead than on him. Tbf I don't care that much I just wanna see Cody finally win this damn championship and cry like a baby lol

  17. I already wanted to make a pre-Mania consideration of the Usos. I always liked them, they obviously have charisma and lots of Ups. That being said, but how disappointing was their rivalry to get to this match? More than a decade in the making, two inseparable twins who at the end of it all find themselves each other's worst enemy, a whirlwind of emotions to highlight during this feud. How can you F it up that bad? lol

I think the main fault is their incredible inability to stay serious during angles, staredowns, etc. While this was also initially funny with Sami Zayn, cause kayfabe-wise it might have made sense with Sami's character, became unprofessional to me after the split. Their laughing and smiling during their face-to-face ruined any credibility imo. I mean your twin freakin' turned heel on you, cost you the WWE title, the Head of the Table spot, the F are you smiling for?

Obviously the match was even worse, a sea of possibilities in which to navigate storyline-wise, and all they came up with is a terrible Superkick spot fest. Huge huge fail.

Preview for LSW Summer Stampede 2022

Prime Time Jack Pryde vs Tavon Blake Jr
In a midcard singles match, Prime Time Jack Pryde will have the opportunity to bounce back after losing to David Stone recently. The cocky rookie, accompanied by his valet Venus Angeletti, will take on "The Grappler" Tavon Blake Jr, a young fine technician who, despite not reaping much satisfaction so far in the Mid South, remains a viable competitor always dangerous with his holds and mat wrestling. The winner could climb a few ranks in the LSW rankings.

The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)
A new tag team is set to make its debut in Lone Star Wrestling: Antonio Del Vecchio and Brutus Milano, both from New York, will clash with masked Mexican luchadores Tigre Salvaje Jr and El Jaguar. The Wild Cats from south of the border will try to spoil The Empire's first match in the Mid South. Who will take home the victory?

David Stone vs Maverick Chip Martin
Representing The Most Wanted faction, Maverick Chip Martin said he is eager to collide with another young gun in David Stone, the Canadian babyface who is doing very well so far in the Mid South. It should be a very sizzling one-on-one, so far the oddsmakers see David Stone as the favorite, but "The Maverick" is a weasel competitor not to be underestimated.

Also, Kip Keenan calls out James Prudence to clear air after shady ending!

The Heartbreak Express (Needham, Liotta) vs The Hot Taggs (Kalder, Wolfie)
Still looking for their first contenders at their title straps, new LSW Tag Team champs Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta will be in action in a non-title match against The Hot Taggs. Kalder and Wolfie, two siblings from Montana, gave a fair fight to The Heartbreak Express last year at LSW Summer Stampede, but were defeated. Now that Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta are on fire, being able to beat them will be even more complicated, but what a victory that would be for The Hot Taggs, two muscular vicious brawlers who could become instant breakout stars.

    Quentin Queen vs Jason Patterson
Now that he secured a new contract for Lone Star Wrestling, ruthless blackheart Quentin Queen can begin a new chapter of his career with a little more peace of mind, but still with a chip on his shoulder. In fact, his opponent in this singles bout is babyface Jason Patterson who, funny enough, is one half of The Oklahomans, the tag team that months ago won the Go Big or Go Home match against Quentin Queen and his former partner Remmy Honeyman, effectively sanctioning their dismissal from the company.

    lsw-brassknuckles.png
Davis Wayne Newton (c) vs Southern Stinger in a No DQ match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title

The Brass Knuckles championship is up for grabs in this one-on-one bout, to be contested under brass knuckles rules! After submitting the champ in tag team action, Ricky Dale Johnson awarded Southern Stingern with a title shot against Davis Wayne Newton. "Triple Threat" did not take this decision by the boss well, took even less well that he succumbed to "The Stinger," and is now intent on overcoming his opponent. One of the fan favorites, no doubt the Mid South crowd will be all in support of Southern Stinger, who has an opportunity to win his first title belt here in LSW.

Al Coleman, Cali Slick, Cobra vs Jared Johnson, Rob Reynolds, Texas Hangman
A huge three versus three is one of the hottest matches on the card! Rivalries intertwine in this multi-man match that groups three heels against three babyfaces; we will see opposing Al Coleman and Rob Reynolds, former friends and bitter enemies, Cobra and Texas Hangman, as the big heavyweight recently turned babyface after rebelling against "The Preacher" Travis Century, and Cali Slick and Jared Johnson, who have faced each other several times in the past few months with the goal of establishing themselves as "Real Draw" and belittling their respective rival. Which side will show the best team chemistry and win the bout?

    Key for Predictions:
Prime Time Jack Pryde vs Tavon Blake Jr [1 Pts]
The Empire vs The Wild Cats [1 Pts]
