  1. Thank you for the feedback and some more kind words, @christmas_ape. Maybe I'm being too harsh on the quality of the diary, but also thank you for validating some of the weaknesses. Hopefully this diary can get even better. That's always the goal! GOLDEN COMBAT MEDIA INC. PRESS RELEASE As an extremely successful 2018 has come to an end for CGC, we are only looking to a brighter future as we aim to get back on top of the Canadian wrestling scene and become a global player. We are therefore pleased to announce a new home for CGC Title Bout Wrestling! Starting in the first Sunday of January 2019, Title Bout Wrestling has a new home, and a familiar one at that: CBN, a home of Canadian Wrestling on and off since 1985, has agreed with us a deal to broadcast Title Bout Wrestling in a 90 minute slot, Sundays at 5 PM PST. Included in the deal is a specially sanctioned title belt: The CGC CBN Championship! Authorized by the channel executives at CBN, this ensures "Title Bout Wrestling" will live up to its name, with title matches most weeks! To celebrate this new era of Canadian Golden Combat, our design team has worked hard to present an updated logo for the company and its TV! Modern, slick, but still unmistakably recognizable as the company you know and love, this is the CGC of the 2020's, in the 2010's! Be sure you'll catch it as our social media profile picture in no time! Canadian Golden Combat Logo CGC Title Bout Wrestling, live Sundays at 5 PM PST on CBN! But wait, we hear the cries of thousands of fans, what happened to CGC on Channel Six? Are we abandoning our loyal fans in the UK and the people who more and more tuned in to watch CGC Combatants wrestle in that premium channel? The answer is, we're going nowhere! A BRAND NEW CGC Wrestling Show is debuting on Channel Six, Fridays at 5 PM PST called CGC Gearing Up! Don't miss out on this exciting hour of wrestling, right in between the afternoon and early evening weather broadcasts! CGC Gearing Up, live Fridays at 5 PM PST on Channel Six! A consequence of the move of broadcasting an extra hour of free TV wrestling on Fridays is that our Friday Night PPV's are moving to Saturday nights to provide the perfect weekend wrestling experience! The two nights of the CGC DeColt Wrestlefestival are of course unaffected by this change, but make sure to mark the 10 other PPVs in your calendar! Detailed PPV schedule is to be released in the coming days. Thank you all for supporting CGC during its darkest days, be sure that we are commited to repaying your faith and aiming to keep providing the best Canadian wrestling has to offer to our loyal fans! A special thanks to @psx for the amazing work designing the company logo, banner and TV show logos for this new-look CGC! Just absolutely lovely designs and initiatives.
  2. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #6 in Niigata Multipurpose Plaza Fight Order: MAIN EVENT: The Bloody Hand (Fujimaro Tansho, Gekko Otsu and SOSEKI) vs Tokyo Wrecking Crew Challengers vs Champions: Arnoud Vox and Sheikh Abdul-Wahid vs Kyushichi Mizumaki and Masa Kahaya Death Smile vs Shi Yuuto Ryuji Kodaka vs Yura Malakyan BJ Powers & Teddy Windham vs Sugita Kamoto & Tsutomu Honda
  3. Bracket 1 Tom Zenk vs. Mr. Saito Col. DeBeers vs. Perro Aguyao Bracket 2 Tully Blanchard vs. Ken Patera Wahoo McDaniel vs. Chris Adams Bracket 3 Carlos Colon vs. Larry Zbyszko Jonnie Stewart vs. Riki Choshu Bracket 4 Jake Milliman vs. The Iron Sheik Greg Valentine vs. Bruce Hart SPECIAL FEATURE MATCH (Afternoon Session) Jerry Blackwell vs. Kokina Maximus
  4. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #5 Results: MATCH 1: Chojiro Ono def. Sugita Kamoto VS The young heavyweight really shone in this match, knowing he needs to be impressive. Ono relished the show of fighting spirit and really challenged Kamoto to give his best. After a close call from a backdrop, Ono was scrambling to take back control, and a brutal lariat steadied things up, before he ended things with a Tsunami (Pounce) in 10:12. 43 Rating MATCH 2: Hiro Date def. Tsutomu Honda VS Date was looking for a similar display from Honda, but Honda decided on his usual strategy. Seems like he prefers himself to get angry before he really gets going. That however does not work as well against one of the heaviest hitters in the history of puroresu. Even when he went absolutely ballistic with intensity, it felt like he was a couple moves away from demise. Which is what happened after Date got him with a Painkiller lariat in 9:21. 45 Rating MATCH 3: Butcher Hachirobei, Sheikh Abdul-Wahid and Shi Yuuto def. Kyushichi Mizumaki, Nobusuke Takabe and Soh Terajima VS With absolute fire in his eyes, Sheikh Abdul-Wahid totally dominated the proceedings of this bloody deathmatch. The sledgehammers were brought out for this one for the first time in this tour, alongside the usual weaponry that accompanies these occasions. The Sheikh of destruction choked Soh Terajima using a lead pipe and pinned him in the middle of the ring, while staring daggers at the Chalice of Blood holder. (10:37) 53 Rating MATCH 4: Magobei Morita & Masa Kahaya def. Arnoud Vox & Sumiteru Hatakeda VS With the help of the sublime Magobei Morita who had his first match of the year, Masa Kahaya overcame the teamwork of Vox and Hatakeda. Kahaya’s fighting spirit was unmatched as he fought through everything to get the hot tag to Morita, before swooping in at the end with a kendo stick to send a message. Morita was kind enough to tag the champ back in, who pinned Hatakeda with an Impaler in 12:34. 46 Rating MATCH 5: Fujimaro Tansho & SOSEKI def. El Segador & Yokai Dragon VS We have contenders to the Tokyo Wrecking Crew! And it was fought with blood. The masked madmen really gave the Bloody Hand duo everything they had, even wrapping a table in barbed wire and hitting a double suplex on SOSEKI through it, but Fujimaro Tansho’s tendency to use any possible weapon saved them. Using a cut-off sink from…who knows where he gave Yokai Dragon immense head trauma and got the winning pin. (15:02) After the match, the Bloody Hand members promised to destroy the Tokyo Wrecking Crew, get the Unity of Blood belts and show everyone once and for all that The Bloody Hand runs LETHAL, and LETHAL is still a deathmatch company more than anything else! (49 rating) 44 Rating Show Rating: 42 POST-SHOW COMMENTS: Chojiro Ono: "Bring on the Bloody Hand! We'll teach them tricks in wrestling like our young boys today!" Hiro Date: "Your Deathmatch masochism won't help you against the best as much as it did against the gaijins." Masa Kahaya: "Arnoud Vox it's clear you don't share the respect I showed you on the first show of the year! LETHAL is a land of savages and while I'm one of them, I'm a killer amidst butchers! You've made a huge mistake underestimating the champion." El Segador (In Spanish): "This was not good. I need answers." Magobei Morita: "Yes, babyyyy! Top star shining bright. Masa my friend keep this belt warm for me!" PREDICTIONS: 229tman - 5/5 (18/20) falling_star - 3/5 (16/25) GreatreDRagon - 3/5 (16/20) (jhd1 - 14/20) Markew - 3/5 (14/20) KyTeran - 4/5 (13/20) Vandal - 3/5 (12/20) Scottie - 4/5 (7/10) SomeLazyMagic - 3/5 New leader with an insane prediction record!
  5. AWF New Year, No Limits 2021 AWF World Title – 3rd Defence: Daryl Lance w/Cheerleader Brittany vs Core (c) I am not a fan of Core being a champion in his mid-40s even if his stats are good, but Lance can be heated up even further. It's fine to lose your first title match. United States Title match – 2nd Defence: N8 Omega vs Wilson Hancock vs Aaron Price (c) All due respect to the other two, Price is great and also doesn't quite have the room to drop the title and just become the main eventer with the faces above him. Starlight's Title – 7th Defence: Alexis James vs Amy Ladner (c) Feels nice and steady to keep the belt there. Derrick Romeo & Sharif Awar vs Jonah Huntley & Ebi Kadivar Core needs heel challengers! And Huntley has been grading incredibly well. Jesse Mills vs Riley Johansen Alice Harrison, Erin Scott & AJ Paris vs Mean Girls Club (Kali Azar, Jenn Powalski and Teri Szatkowski) Alice has been pretty hot since coming in. Ankur the Great vs Tyshawn Martial w/ Atlas Lynn World Tag Team Title’s – 3rd Defence: The Devastators (Juggernaut & Monstrosity) vs ALFA (DeSean Royal & Hunter Wolfe) (C) Maybe if Tommy was still in charge... Pre-Show Match: Kimberly Knight vs Saray Moreno Pre-Show Match: The Fyre and Military Discipline vs Termerario and the High Rollers
  6. AWG is such a nice surprise, and I'm excited for the Lucha update. I have to be honest, Soberano Jr not having 100 sex appeal is immersion-breaking! XD Great work as always.
  7. Just one that could make it in right before the release: Yasutaka Yano and Kinya Okada got their contracts with Pro Wrestling NOAH terminated last night.
  8. CGC: ONE YEAR IN It's crazy to thing that I've managed to book an entire year of this save considering my tendency to start side-projects and also the fact I had no idea what I was getting into when I begun. But 10 months later, I've booked 12 months of pretty okay wrestling, this diary has amassed a real following and got a couple nominations in DOTM categories and also a win for the rumble match. But I think the biggest accomplishment is that I only didn't post three shows, and two of them had an actual reason behind it rather than me being lazy. But let's move to the save itself, and some booking goals: Make New Stars: Starting with the big one. Obviously, it's how CGC survives in a post DeColt world. Atherton got one of the best pushes I've given in a TWG game, solely because it wasn't through a win streak and hot-shotting a title on him. At the same time, he was basically the protagonist of the promotion in most shows he was on. Ian Identity becoming a fake DeColt worked better than I thought. Dubois was bought so he doesn't count. Skip started really well but I think kind of faltered towards the end. I think that's a solid B. Make Solid, Watchable TV: There were good weeks and bad weeks for sure, but I think this wasn't the most useless two hours of TV every week. At the same time, I really wanted to get to the 90 minute slot already because I gave away way too many 20 minute PPV-level matches on free TV just cause I struggled with filling time. 90 minutes feels like a sweet spot. C+ Make PPV's feel distinct: Elimination: Didn't even try to run the traditional match because the roster was so shallow I felt like I couldn't get a whole card going. It's coming back this year of course, as y'all know. Luck Of The Draw: Nope, total failure. Might even replace it on the calendar with a fake PPV I come up with. Wrestlefestival: Well, I had to! But I think it was solid. Chaos In The Cage: The gimmick makes it easy. In The Company Of Legends: I think it was strong, and having the HOF induction here works for me. Ultimate Showdown: Yes, it's the second biggest event of the year. The Battle Beyond: Solid for an "aftermath" type of PPV. Last Man Standing: Only PPV that got a post building it up, main event won a DOTM award. Feel good about that one. Apocalypse: The George DeColt Memorial Cup saves it from the chopping block. Survival Of The Fittest: It's considered one of the biggest events in the company and it was filler so... nope! Chamber Of Horrors: Frustratingly I made it an one-match show. Can still improve. Feeling a B- here. Build hot feuds that aren't Joey/Whippy: This one is the first real failure here. I had the chance to make Ian/Dubois pretty hot but I took multiple detours to get to him dropping at Chamber of Horrors. Maybe Alex DeColt vs Jamie Atherton went better for some of you guys, but idk. D Get better at doing some more creative segments: Think the second half year was a small but real improvement, also helped by the Holiday specials but still, I think the shows became slightly less sterile and they hopefully will continue to do so. B Match Write-ups: Gonna give this an A, but I have to mention it can still get to an S and it probably won't. But the big PPV matches were the only time this diary truly went above and beyond the usual standard of quality. Some pointers/questions for you all before we embark for year 2 of this journey: -Thoughts on the Vibert's Voice format? Personally think as the year went on his voice and my company voice started merging and it went to waste a bit. Also in the past 10 months (Jesus!) of this diary a lot of cool diaries with cool show formats have dropped. -Would you guys be excited enough for a Women's division that I should be aggressive towards making it happen? I love women's wrestling even though I don't book it often, and the only reason I haven't made the move yet is that I didn't have the opportunity to poach a megastar. But if the interest is there I can make it happen in the first 6 months of 2019. -The first episode of the new B Show will be posted in full, subsequently I will probably just be posting the results. Thank you all for reading and commenting and reacting and supporting the silly rambles of a random guy.
  9. WELL... The save file got corrupted as I was going to begin writing the final show of the year. Luckily for everyone, I had already converted the save into a separate database to make the changes with the two shows etc. So we're still continuing and the worst has been avoided. Consider the last show a best-of of the year clip compilation, and expect the big one-year retrospective posts to begin in the next few days!
  10. Forgot to predict but I do love both this diary and format. Lovely main event as well.
  11. CGC TITLE BOUT WRESTLING CHRISTMAS SPECIAL LIVE from Saskatoon, SA SEGMENT 1: TITLE CELEBRATION GETS CRASHED Merry Christmas! Title Bout Wrestling opens in as festive a mood as is possible, with your NEW CGC World Champion Marc Dubois coming out to the adoration of the crowd. He begins thanking everyone for the support and faith they've had in him since the first moment he stepped foot in CGC, an outsider, a man without home who had failed everyone around him. He also mentions that this is the last time he'll look to the disgraceful past. Him winning the big one signals that both he and the company are now looking towards paving a glorious future for everyone in the roster. Before he can continue though, he is interrupted by THE JOLLIEST MAN IN SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, THE BIG MAN HIMSELF, SANTA CLAUS (Tim Westybrook)! Santa is very sorry to interrupt the party, but he says there's an emergency: The naughty or nice list has been stolen from the North Pole, and his trackers say that it's here, in this very building! He asks Dubois and the whole crowd for help, in order for Christmas to be saved. They oblige. Segment Rating: 69 MATCH 1: CLAUSE REED VS GAHTIR SALIM It seems like the scheduled show did not have the same sense of urgency as everyone else about CHRISTMAS BEING IN DANGER, but the worry was clear in Clause Reed's face who was not in elite mentality. In contrast, Salim was unbothered and ready to fight (not because he's Indian, because he's a heel). This made this contest quite back and forth, more than expected with their respective standings in the roster. Nevertheless, Reed's determination to make Christmas a little brighter in the face of overwhelming danger persevered in the end, as he hit the Log Saw for the win! Segment Rating: 39 SEGMENT 2: THE NAUGHTIEST The camera gets in the locker room of the Golden Elite, where Jamie Atherton is beaming with Adrian Garcia alongside him and the other three members of the Golden Elite sitting around. Atherton boasts that with Garcia's help, they have stolen the naughty or nice list, and they're going to place Atherton as the #1 nicest person in the world for the year 2018, so that he gets a guarantee into what his heart wants most: the CGC World Championship. He thanks Adrian for his help and Garcia laughs it off and just mentions he "knows the right people for a job like that". As they laugh maniacally there's a knock on their door. New Comissioner Lee Bennett comes in, points to the camera and informs them that the possession of the list is on the line in TONIGHT'S main event, in a 6 man tag match. Segment Rating: 71 MATCH 2: DAN DALAY AND KILLER KARSON VS STEVIE GRAYSON AND SPENCER EDMUND Edmund's debut for CGC, the youngster is wearing a green elf hat and is treated as a bit of a joke by the heels. The match revolves around DaLay and Karson bullying the two undersized babyfaces, but with a bit of a spotlight casted on Spencer's tenacity and agility/evasiveness. At the end though, fighting spirit isn't enough on its own, and DaLay essentially gave him a wedgie into the DaLay Down for the win. Segment Rating: 45 SEGMENT 3: NEW CREW After the match, DaLay mentions that he's officially taking Karson under his wing because the CGC has gotten too full with dorks and he doesn't have the energy he once had to keep them all in check. Karson glees and taunts the losing team. Segment Rating: 39 MATCH 3: CHRISTMAS STREET FIGHT - RICKY STORM VS ALISTAIR SHUFFLEBOTTOM A bit of a comedic exhibition for Storm's skills, everyone knows this one has only one way it will end, nevertheless it lasts a while, it's fun and Alistair gets a tiny bit of offense as well, enough to remind people he's an actual wrestler instead of a ragdoll. But already too many words have been written for this match. Ricky Storm knocked him out with a one inch punch. Segment Rating: 61 SEGMENT 4: STRATEGIZING We see the group of Alex DeColt, Santa Claus, Lee Bennett and Marc Dubois exchanging ideas on who should be a part of "team Christmas" in the main event. After a lot of debating, speculating and theorizing, they decide there is a clear cut choice: SKIP BEAU should represent Team Christmas! He appears with a bottle of egg nog and Christmas cheer, ready to contribute. Segment Rating: 64 MATCH 4: CHRISTMAS BATTLE ROYAL This WOULD have been the main event if the show went on as normal. Dusty Ducont vs Joey Poison vs Ant-Man vs Zeus Maximillion vs Brett Fraser vs Curtis Mobstar. It was a lot of just teasing the crowd that the faces will be eliminated by Ducont then it not happening. The 4+1 good guys ganged up on the villain and threw him out, then had a mini spotfest. Joey Poison came out on top, last throwing out Ant-Man in a crowdpleasing affair. Segment Rating: 56 MATCH 5: JAMIE ATHERTON & THE CANADIAN BLONDES VS MARC DUBOIS, SANTA CLAUS & SKIP BEAU This was amazing. This was wrestling. Good vs Evil. Giving vs Taking. High Flyers vs Canadian Wrestling Royalty. Atherton vs Santa Claus especially was a battle for the ages. Team Elite fought really hard to ruin everyone's night and holidays, even having Dan Draper bring out a glass candy cane that they tried to break on Santa's head, but he dodged and it broke on impact on the steel ringpost. This enraged Beau who fought off all the Golden Elite members on his own with reckless abandon, which allowed Dubois to roll Atherton in the ring. That allowed Santa to teach him a couple things about being naughty- no, to give him a well deserved spanking- no, to set things straight against the villains with a thunderous twisting spinebuster. Dubois also hit a Frog Splash before allowing ol' Saint Nick to get the winning pin, in the Match of the Year. Segment Rating: 79 SEGMENT 5: PAYBACK IS A PLATE BEST SERVED WHEN IT HURTS? After the match, Alex DeColt came out to address Jamie Atherton, and inform him that these two are not done yet. No, in fact, he has not even gotten to make him retire. For you see, at Elimination, Alex DeColt is seizing his fate, and is going to team up with Skip Beau and Robin DaLay against the Golden Elite in a 3 on 3 Elimination Match! Merry Christmas you punk! Segment Rating: 74 Show Rating: 75
  12. Great show! Was definitely worth the high effort, especially in the main event.
  13. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #5 In Hiroshima Community Hall Fight Order: MAIN EVENT: Unity of Blood Contendership Determination Match: El Segador & Yokai Dragon vs Fujimaro Tansho & SOSEKI Arnoud Vox & Sumiteru Hatakeda vs Magobei Morita & Masa Kahaya Butcher Hachirobei, Sheikh Abdul-Wahid and Shi Yuuto vs Kyushichi Mizumaki, Nobusuke Takabe and Soh Terajima Hiro Date vs Tsutomu Honda Chojiro Ono vs Sugita Kamoto
  14. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #4 Results Venue: Fukuoka Kagura Theatre Attendance: 154 (out of 250) MATCH 1: Tsutomu Honda def. Ryuji Kodaka VS Surprisingly, this was fought under deathmatch rules. Whether that aided Honda in impressing the TWC is unknown. Kodaka got a chance to use all his sadistic tendencies on a willing target with Honda’s tactic of absorbing a lot of damage before unloading on the opponent. The visual of a bloody Honda pinning Kodaka after a Backdrop Driver was thrilling (7:36). 31 Rating MATCH 2: Hiro Date & Koto Arato def. Chojiro Ono & Sugita Kamoto VS A match better showing from Kamoto than five days ago, working much better with Ono as his allocated veteran. Despite that, the legends didn’t really give him a chance, using some brutal techniques to make quick work of this match, even against Ono. Arato lariated Kamoto out of his boots to end things very swiftly (9:43). 49 Rating MATCH 3: Gekko Otsu def. CJ Morris VS Otsu just took his frustrations out on the poor Australian after he was surpassed for a Chalice of Blood title shot. Morris is tough but not ready to contend against the most bloodthirsty fighters in the island, he could mostly delay the inevitable. Gekko Otsu hit a Spike Brainbuster on the stairs and it was lights out for Morris even if it took a while to roll him back in the ring. (9:59) 34 Rating MATCH 4: Arnoud Vox & Sumiteru Hatakeda def. Butcher Hachirobei & Masa Kahaya VS A rare treat of watching Hachirobei in a regular match, he was the wildcard of this build up tag involving challenger and champion in the SPIRIT division. Vox is in the form of a lifetime and he absolutely threw his opponents around today, while Hatakeda locked some nasty submissions to work over them. Ultimately, the MMA fighters were much more coordinated in their efforts, and Vox choked Masa out in 13:47. 49 Rating MAIN EVENT: 8-Man Barbed Wire Table Deathmatch: Death Smile, Kyushichi Mizumaki, El Segador & Yokai Dragon vs Fujimaro Tansho & SOSEKI, KILLER Inoue and Sheikh Abdul-Wahid VS Chaos! Violence! There was brawling and blood everywhere you looked in this war between wrestlers feuding. Sheikh Abdul-Wahid was on a tear wanting Mizumaki’s head, and he managed to staple a part of his turban to the back of the champion’s head as a reminder. The legendary Fujimaro Tansho used an electric scooter he “had found outside” to beat Yokai Dragon over the head with it and end the contest victorious. (15:28) That means, KILLER Inoue got his match against Death Smile. At Fury Road, he’d get what he asked for. 43 Rating Show Rating: 41 POST-SHOW COMMENTS: Chojiro Ono: "Pro Wrestling is more fun with this multitasking going on. Next week we learn who we defend against. Bring the hardcore guys on! We're ready!" Hiro Date: "Nice to see the punks respond as the tour has been going on. And no matter who joins the Crew, they will learn a great lesson watching as defend our belts." Koto Arato: "I think Honda looked in his element in a deathmatch. It's intriguing watching him figure out his fate." Arnoud Vox: "Humbling Kahaya is fun! Too bad he's just getting in the way of me trying to get the belt. I could do this for months instead of weeks." Gekko Otsu: "See this? Still got it. Awesome win. Whoever walks out as Chalice holder will not know what hit him. The year of Otsu has begun!" KILLER Inoue: "Even if I didn't earn the match by getting the victory myself, I will be glad to show Death Smile what LETHAL Steel is all about. Hopefully he comes out of that match a complete star like I know he can be." Kyushichi Mizumaki: "That bastard Wahid is dead! At Fury Road he will learn the error of his ways!! That fat fuck will need a special coffin ordered! When I'm done my chalice will be full of more lard than his blood!!!" POST-SHOW COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENT: The highly anticipated bout between Death Smile and KILLER INOUE is coming! Lethal Fury Road 2021, tickets out now! PREDICTIONS: jhd1 - 3/5 (14/20) falling_star - 3/5 (13/20) 229tman - 4/5 (13/15) GreatreDRagon - 4/5 (13/15) Markew - 3/5 (11/15) KyTeran - 3/5 (9/15) Vandal - 3/5 (9/15) Really tight battle at the prediction front!
  15. Sadly getting messed up by assignments right now and I don't have these prewritten like the LETHAL diary so this is maybe going one+ more week of no updating. Still excited to end the year and post the Christmas episode!
  16. What a great diary start! Classic CGC is just the best. And you're still a bit before the "prime" which imo is post-Steve so you have your opportunity to give your own takes on these characters' development. The DeColts (Alex, Steve & Jack DeColt) vs. The Elite (Dan DaLay, John Maverick & Eddie Chandler) - Elimination Tag Team Match I mean...DeColts win lol. Not even Ricky there to mess this one up! Shooter Sean Deeley (C) vs. Ricky DeColt - CGC Canadian Title I think that's a hot take since he's kind of bland but I'm a big Deeley guy. Youth Energy & The Varsity Boys vs. The Specialists & Soldiers of Fortune - Elimination Tag Team Match More Star Power Whippy The Clown vs. ??? Usually the ??? is a safe bet, especially at the start of a diary where a new debut is almost certain. But Whippy is my guy. 'The Elite Opportunity': Ryan Powell, Zeus Maxmillion & Christian Price vs. The Canadian Enforcers & Steven Parker - Elimination Tag Team Match
  17. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #4 In Fukuoka Kagura Theatre Fight Order: MAIN EVENT: 8-Man Barbed Wire Table Deathmatch: Death Smile, Kyushichi Mizumaki, El Segador & Yokai Dragon vs Fujimaro Tansho & SOSEKI, KILLER Inoue and Sheikh Abdul-Wahid Arnoud Vox & Sumiteru Hatakeda vs Butcher Hachirobei & Masa Kahaya CJ Morris vs Gekko Otsu Chojiro Ono & Sugita Kamoto vs Hiro Date & Koto Arato Ryuji Kodaka vs Tsutomu Honda
  18. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #3 Results Venue: Kobe Municipal Gym Attendance: 166 (out of 325) MATCH 1: Sugita Kamoto def. Ryuji Kodaka VS A true battle between these two hopes for the future of the company Kodaka held up pretty well in this non-deathmatch, but every LETHAL match is no-DQ in terms of unwritten rules and that definitely helped him keep up with the freight train that is Kamoto. Sugita managed to hit an incredible backdrop on Kodaka that gave him a win in 7:36 and didn’t have the young lion get up for a while after. 34 Rating MATCH 2: Kyushichi Mizumaki & Sheikh Abdul-Wahid def. Aged By Violence VS A classic light-tubes affair, this was the Chalice of Blood holder taking revenge from Gekko Otsu, the man who pinned him on the first show of the year. The Impaler was the solution the champ needed again, pinning Takabe as Otsu watched. (12:13) Sheikh Abdul-Wahid hit his teammate with a lighttube to the skull after the match was over and announced a challenge for the chalice, before walking off. (42 rating). 48 Rating MATCH 3: SOSEKI def. Yokai Dragon VS With SOSEKI & Tansho vs El Segador & Yokai Dragon in the future to determine the contender to the Unity of Blood belts, this LETHAL Deathmatch was even more intense than usual, since it wasn’t just for the fans. SOSEKI dominated the proceedings against the controversial Yokai using a lot of thumbtacks to accentuate his moves, as well as an array of weapons, before pinning him with an Electric Chair Drop on a set of thumbtacks. (11:45) 34 Rating MATCH 4: Tokyo Wrecking Crew def. The Sons of Pain VS A quintessential puro six man tag match, this was beef on beef action. The Sons of Pain had been on a roll to start the year, but this was a reality check for them. They’re not yet at the necessary level to conquer the premier faction in LETHAL Steel. Koto Arato absolutely destroyed Ellis Hogg, pinning him after a huge Running Lariat. (14:14) 50 Rating MATCH 5: Death Smile & El Segador def. Fujimaro Tansho & KILLER Inoue VS For the first time this year, a tour show had more deathmatches than regular matches, and this was another nice one. El Segador’s form has been scorching hot, and coupling that with Inoue being unnerved by his Death Smile obsession, there was only going to be one winning team. A Danza el Segador on Tansho ended things and gave the masked madmen momentum ahead of the contendership match. (15:02) 44 Rating Show Rating: 41 POST-SHOW COMMENTS: Sugita Kamoto: "Kodaka is not on my level. It's time to take my name out of the future and thrust it in the present!" Sheikh Abdul-Wahid: "Now THAT is more how things should go around here. The holy conquest for the Blood Chalice goes through The Bloodthirsty Warrior. Perhaps it's why the empty chalice doesn't quench him." Gekko Otsu: "Man, what the ****! **** **** on a *********!!!!!!!! How do you create new precedent just to overlook Gekko Otsu? Mizumaki you're on borrowed time!" El Segador (in Spanish): "I'm going to literally murder The Bloody Hand if it's going to give me a wrestling title belt shot." Fujimaro Tansho: "The masked foreigners are wild competitors you have to admire, but when glory is on the line, coherence will prevail. People have discounted our craft, but it's as wrestling as anything, and random, mishapen teams don't win!" SOSEKI: "Yokai Dragon should know, this was the merciful version of what will happen next." POST-SHOW COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS: The first defense of the Chalice of Blood for the year is official! Sheikh Abdul-Wahid challenges Kyushichi Mizumaki at LETHAL FURY ROAD 2021! Whoever survives should consider Gekko Otsu first in line however... PREDICTIONS: jhd1 - 4/5 (11/15) falling_star - 3/5 (10/15) 229tman - 4/5 (9/10) GreatreDRagon - 5/5 (9/10) Markew - 4/5 (8/10) KyTeran - 3/5 (6/10) Vandal - 4/5 (6/10) kanegan - 2/5 (Strech - 4/5) (Scottie - 3/5) (CGN91 - 2/5)
  19. Really enjoy the commentary rapport, makes the show feel more alive. Some early debuts, a diary staple! Truly unavoidable but these are good gets. I am a big Daryl Lance guy, there's a lot to do with his chase for the Grand Slam, especially since there are like 3 more guys on the verge. Excited to see this diary develop, I think as far as starts go it's incredibly promising.
  20. Hey! You have my favorite CGC alt logos, could I use them for my diary and could I make a related request if so?

  22. Incredible presentation and a good show to boot! This dynasty has been really fun
  23. LETHAL Steel Fury Road Tour #2 Results Venue: Nagoya City Exhibition Hall C Attendance: 159 (out of 250) MATCH 1: Shi Yuuto def. Ryuji Kodaka VS The Sumo of death facing the ultraviolent lion was a literal towering task for the young wrestler Very violent in nature, but this match forced Kodaka to do the most considering his lumbering opponent Yuuto put the youngling out of his misery with a Steel Death Trap (Chair assisted Cobra Clutch) in 10 minutes. 28 Rating MATCH 2: BJ Powers & Teddy Windham def. FIST Nakano & Sumiteru Hatakeda VS The Sons of Pain continue their roll against the martial artists- traditional and mixed. Hatakeda is a dominant, dangerous presence, but Nakano is a bit too cute and gets in peril often. Powers ends things with the Stalling Suplex Powerslam on Nakano and wins it in 9:52. 32 Rating MATCH 3: Tokyo Wrecking Crew def. Sugita Kamoto & Tsutomu Honda VS Both the wrestlers on trial with the Tokyo Wrecking Crew teamed up against the Unity of Blood Champions- there was only one ending really. Kamoto and Honda were busy outshining each other rather than working together, especially Honda with his tendency to absorb a ton of damage before retaliating with great might. Kamoto got the best of Ono in an exchange that ended with a crazy headbutt, but Honda tagged himself in which allowed Ono to get Date in. Date chopped Honda to death and won with a backdrop in 8:40. 40 Rating MATCH 4: The Bloody Hand & Kyushichi Mizumaki & Sheikh Abdul-Wahid def. Baiko Ashida, El Segador, Gekko Otsu and Yokai Dragon VS These multi-man deathmatches are a great way to not discount the violence for the crowd, but lessen it on the wrestlers for the rest of the long tour. Tansho & SOSEKI and El Segador & Yokai Dragon are angling for a Unity of Blood title shot and both groups went hard on each other, while Otsu was taunting the Chalice of Blood champion after beating him on the first show of the tour. Mizumaki showed everyone why he holds the belt and buried Ashida in two tables with an Impaler (Fireman Carry into Powerbomb) for the win in 15:12. 48 Rating MAIN EVENT: Death Smile & Masa Kahaya def. Arnoud Vox & KILLER Inoue VS Masa Kahaya and Death Smile visibly didn’t trust each other, but they managed to prevail due to sheer intensity. Kahaya wanted revenge for the loss he suffered to Vox, ahead of their looming title match, and that got him into shaky waters in many moments due to the Dutchman’s impeccable submission game. Inoue once again paid for his obsession with Death Smile and got baseball batted to death himself like SOSEKI. Smile wins in 14:36 After the match, Inoue asked Death Smile what it would take to face him in a singles LETHAL Deathmatch. The enigma of LETHAL Steel responded: beat him in a match on this tour. He’s 0-2, 5 more chances to go. (57 rating) 41 Rating Show Rating: 42 POST-SHOW COMMENTS: FIST Nakano: "FUCK!" Chojiro Ono: "There's a bit of disappointment in me today, even despite a win that felt good in there. These are two wrestlers full of top potential, but when we find things to challenge them with, they can't meet the moment yet." Hiro Date: "They're years off wrestling school, telling them that wrestling isn't just about how hard you hit a lariat shouldn't be a revelation." Kyushichi Mizumaki: "I refuse to defend my belt against fucking Gekko Otsu. I've been beating his stable for months, he hasn't had a singles match in years, he doesn't even make up the roster for the World's Most Extreme tournament anymore. Give me a proper challenge to start the year properly!" KILLER Inoue: "This breakthrough was all I needed. I feel like the mystery is revealing itself before my eyes. At my age especially, this has only reinvigorated me for the slog of the tour!" POST-SHOW COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS: The company is monitoring the situation between Gekko Otsu and Kyushichi Mizumaki. We do not want to go against the champion's wishes, but Otsu did literally pin the chalice holder. An intern was fired for falsely posting that the Arnoud Vox vs Masa Kahaya match is happening at LETHAL FURY ROAD 2021. It's actually happening in the Tokyo Gardens Exhibition Hall show after, LETHAL Spirit Cup 2021, a one-night special tournament. PREDICTIONS: (Once again, insane participation guys!) falling_star - 3/5 (7/10) jhd1 - 5/5 (7/10) 229tman - 4/5 (5/10) GreatreDRagon - 4/5 (4/10) Markew - 4/5 Strech - 4/5 Scottie - 3/5 KyTeran - 3/5 CGN91 - 2/5 Vandal - 2/5 Winner is probably going to be presented with a few signing options for a tour deal, but I am booking ahead so the reward might not be as instant. I am still workshopping if I can find something cooler as a "prize".
  24. CGC CHAMBER OF HORRORS REPORT Held in the Wolseley Arts Building, Winnipeg, Manitoba ATTENDANCE: 4107 PPV BUYS: 32011 MATCH 1: DON DRAPER VS ROBIN DALAY VS The PPV opener absolutely overdelivered considering the lack of build and the expectations for these two youngsters. Their combined age is younger than the Canadian Chaos Champion. And yet they had a nice little match that played on the weak story leading in: Draper was doing anything to avoid comeuppance, almost getting no offense in, while Robin just built and built anticipation for the crowdpleasing spots. There could only be one winner here, but that didn't mean it was a squash: Draper used some classic heel tactics like the low-blow into jawbreaker into jackknife pin and the hiding behind the ref to get real close to a huge win, but DaLay overcame those obstacles. He turned around to complain to the ref and argue for a DQ, which allowed Draper to roll him up while holding the tights. Luckily, Faith alerted the ref and he stopped his count before three, saving the integrity of the contest. Draper got pissed and went for some weird headlock move, but DaLay backdrop driver'd him, then hit the DaLay down for a big win. Segment Rating: 48 MATCH 2: CANADIAN CHAOS CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT "I QUIT" MATCH: CURTIS MOBSTAR VS TOPHER SMITH VS WHIPPY THE CLOWN VS VS A weird contest. Maybe the stipulation was too loaded, but essentially, they had two matches in one: One was a weapon-filled brawl, another was an indierrific high-flying contest that spilled to the outside. Mobstar didn't want to fight alongside Smith, and Whippy did his best to either always be armed or pit them against each other. However, he got his ass kicked a ton of times during the match, including Mobstar suplexing him on the barricade and just as he got up Topher hitting the Gopher Suicide Dive on him over the barricade, next to the seats. Curtis' way to win the I Quit match was "threaten Whippy with cranial damage" (despite the fact chairshots to the head don't really happen in CGC anymore), while Smith's way was working the head and midsection then slapping in a basic leg lock and hoping for the best. So, perhaps, Whippy's selection of the "I Quit Match" was indeed another brilliant choice by the clown prince of grappling. Aided by a kendo stick, his "Why So Serious?" Lock was enough to make Smith quit due to a dive that he crashed on with Mobstar being too hungry to attack Whippy, inadvertently getting him out of the way in the process. Champ retains. Segment Rating: 53 MATCH 3: ALEXANDER ROBINSON VS STERLING WHITLOCK VS You would expect this match to be the most solid old-school contest you'll see a month ago, but Whitlock decided to prove a point and raise the wackiness up to 11. Robinson on the other hand tried to be his most mat-wrestling self, at some point trying to keep a side headlock on for 3-4 minutes straight, causing Whitlock to launch himself to the ropes and force a break... before being promptly brought back in the center of the ring. Despite Sterling's best efforts, that's what most of this was. Until, Sterling caught his mentor with a high jumping kick to the side of the head. Completely changed everything, he begun posing and making high-pitched noises, before making the cardinal sin. He was teasing his lariat, but when it came time to hit, it was chops! The most over move in CGC is no more, and this replacement is clearly NOT as effective. Robinson has taken a beating at the hands of Dread and Mito Miwa, he wasn't even flinching at these chops despite how harsh they sounded. He hit a headbutt on his prodigy, and won with a Canadian Violence Flying European Uppercut. After the match, these two shook hands, but it wasn't quite a reconciliation handshake. Whitlock didn't cheat, the result wasn't disputed, but there was a sense of finality. Segment Rating: 57 MATCH 4: CGC WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS LADDER MATCH: GENERATION Z VS THE CANADIAN BLONDES (C) These two teams had a fun, inoffensive spotfest. There was a lot of coordinated offense, ridiculous athleticism on display, and the youngsters were allowed to shine as much as possible. That also brought drawbacks however, as there was a couple too many cases when the heels had to wait a tiny bit too long to catch a dive, or Alyx and Flip preferring to do flips instead of winning the match in a couple cases, but overall this was solid enough. A refreshing part of this was no interference on the Golden Elite's side, showing that Generation Z have a long way to go still despite their improvements. Flash retrieved the belts after Ozzie hit the Golden Shower off of a ladder on both zoomers, and the status quo was preserved. Segment Rating: 53 MATCH 5: CGC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMBER OF HORRORS MATCH: DUSTY DUCONT VS JAMIE ATHERTON VS IAN DECOLT (C) VS MARC DUBOIS VS RICKY STORM VS SKIP BEAU, W/LEE BENNETT AS OUTSIDE ENFORCER VS VS VS VS VS Before match the fighting game vignette aired again as the match hype package. We begin with Ian DeColt and Marc Dubois in the ring, something that was known of course for a couple weeks. Ian is armed with a replica of the 2000's version of the CGC World title, the "black and gold" version, while Dubois opted for no symbolism just coming in with the ol' reliable steel chair. Dubois' bigger concern was using his 2.5 minutes allocated before the next timed entrance to eliminate the World Champion. Head shots and scrapping grapplework commence and Dubois makes a mistake swinging with his chair before having set the process up enough getting him dazed and Ian hits him with the Wild Ride on the title belt for the nearest two-count you'll ever see in your life! Literally saved by the fact it was two minutes in and he was fresh enough. A bit after the shock and disbelief, it's time for entrant #3: Dusty Ducont. The hulking giant comes in with brass knuckles fitted in his right hand. DeColt and Dubois fight together to avoid the instant loss and knockout contact with Ducont would bring, using chair and title belt and dropkicks before double suplexing him to the chamber floor. However, they're too worried to even proceed their chase and just begin fighting each other, Marc getting a gorgeous nearfall on a Dragon Suplex. Ducont gets up and lariats both of them, then loads his fist. That's when Ricky Storm comes in, sporting nunchucks that he uses to grab Ducont's arm, lock him in an armbar hanging from the turnbuckle and try to remove the brass knuckles. It's super badass, but Ducont would have easily countered into an one-arm powerbomb if not for Dubois hitting him to the back with a chair. After Dusty refuses to tap out, Storm lets go and begins kicking everyone. Chest kicks, roundhouses, dropkicks. He lifts Alex up for the Storm's End, but the champ slips out and tries to hit Steve DeColt's rope-bouncing lariat but he gets speared by Dubois for a nearfall. Fifth to enter is Skip Beau, and the raging bull has a table with him that he uses to smack Ducont on the face with. He then sets it outside the ring. The three babyfaces begin to assault Ian DeColt, but they're playing with the food for a bit too long. Jamie Atherton enters, with a bag of thumbtacks because "he wanted to get his weapon out of the way". He begins brawling with Ricky Storm while Dubois and Beau are getting ready to eliminate Ian. Marc superkicks DeColt and Skip Beau gets him up on his shoulders and exits the ring to get by the table. Dubois poses and Beau gets ready to hit the Flow Down...when Ducont runs up, having recovered his brass knuckles and promptly knocks him out, and pins him. DeColt crawls away towards his replica belt, while Dubois hits a springboard senton on him to have an advantage before the giant gets up. Atherton and Storm's brawl by the way is frighteningly evenly matched, as Atherton's freshness helps him dodge most strikes coming his way. Ian DeColt saves Ducont to repay his favor and gets Dubois off him. Ducont wants to knock everyone out and doesn't care about alliances...which causes an alliance against him. The next three minutes are mayhem of an 1v4. Everyone hits their finishers on Dusty Ducont, and he kicks out of them, so they have to use all their weapons on him to finally get him out of there. Four remain, and it's DeColt and Atherton against Storm and Dubois as whatever counts for "natural team-ups". In practice it's everyone against everyone, with Atherton getting his ass kicked from the nunchuck-sporting Storm while DeColt and Dubois continue from where they had left off. Ricky Storm hits a roundhouse on Atherton but it's not enough. He tries to lock a kneebar but Atherton manages to turn it into a pinning predicament that almost gets the English Kung Fu master. On the other side, Dubois almost gets his own pin on Ian and his failure to do so makes him change his tune- he decides to help Ricky Storm, but that's a bad decision. He lacks the killer instinct to go over there with his chair, so when Ian DeColt recovers, the heels have a big advantage. This leads to a situation where Ian DeColt hits the Identity Theft on Storm on the chamber floor after Atherton has confiscated the nunchucks, which is a de facto victory. Three remain. Meanwhile, in the ring, DeColt had talked Atherton into spilling the thumbtucks- Dubois was basically knocked out on his feet anyway, let him taste pain before the two duke it out. Jamie raises Dubois in the Dangerous Brainbuster position, but Dubois manages to counter into a Falcon Arrow! Atherton's scream is heard around Canada, and it's definitely the first thumbtack spot in the company since...95'? No one since Larry Vessey was crazy enough for it anyway. Ian DeColt observes the mine field of thumbtacks and simply decides to let Atherton lose while he goes to retrieve his title belt. Atherton kicks out of the Falcon Arrow and even tries to hit a Spike Frankensteiner on the tacks as revenge, but he doesn't have the energy and he's bleeding out. Dubois eventually hits the Mark of Excellence and pins him. Then there were two, and it's the two that started it all. And it starts with a belt shot to the back of the Quebecois' head. 1...2...Dubois kicks out! What begins after that can only be described as a signature fest. DeColt wants to hit the Wild Ride again, he can't. Dubois wants the superkick, it misses, so DeColt has an opportunity to hit Alex Decolt's Straitjacket Driver, but he lands on the thumbtacks so he can't cover quickly enough. He looks for the brass knuckles but realizes: Dusty Ducont was stretchered out with them, with Bennett making sure that was the case. Frantically looking for more weapons within him, he pulls out one he didn't know he have: The Stone Ankle Stretch! Turning heel on his family name(?), he screams for Marc Dubois to tap out, for this to be over... but he hasn't worked the ankle at all, the fool! Dubois rolls through, and the match continues with Marc in control: Corner Splash, Flapjack, Swinging Neckbreaker on the thumbtacks, and locks in the Model Solution, making Ian tap out and winning the CGC World Championship! Segment Rating: 71 ENDING SEGMENT: DUBOIS SHORT PROMO The two men need help exiting the chamber, but Dubois shakes it off and poses on the ramp with the belt. He gets given a microphone by production and he leaves his message short and sweet. A new age has arrived for CGC, one that requires them to become protagonists on the wrestling scene. He promises he's here to carry the company into fame and glory, by forcing everyone to look to the future instead of the past like the champions before him. He thanks everyone for their support, and dedicates his fight against tonight's combatants and his personal demons to the fans who have kept him going through the darkest. On to the brightest lights! Segment Rating: 70 Overall Rating: 68 NEXT UP: MERRY CHRISTMAS CGC, WITH A VERY SPECIAL JOLLY GUEST!
  25. Baba has some incredible longevity even if he was very limited physically in the back half of his career, but I have to agree with the Vader pick.
