Who cares about your little tussle with The Bushwackers, Randy Savage just got bit by a friggen cobra. Get that over, FFS.

It really does help out a lot, particularly for babyface guys who can cut a promo, but maybe are just coming in the door, or aren't featured in anything special atm. It also gives your interviewers opportunities to show some character. Have a back-and-forth, and talk like humans. Literally, everybody wins, and I miss these days quite a bit.

I really like that approach. Also makes the big feuds feel bigger.

I suppose you could flip it as well and have main eventers talking about a lower card feud to set up future programmes / elevate those feuds.

Balor and Ricochet got destroyed! I don't know whether to love or hate the finish. TBH, Lesnar fits the role of monster lurking in the background waiting to strike and it will make USA and Fox both happy. And it means they can keep him out of the title picture for almost a year while still being a threat

Totally with you on this. Think it’s a really interesting dynamic they have going on here.

Hopefully he keeps this up his sleeve until Wrestlemania.

 3.
1) Marketing push: A wrestler gets unmasked

2) Love triangle: Two wrestlers hit on the same Nitro Girl leading to an impromptu match

3) Splitsville: a tag team splits up

4) Who's your papi: A wrestler's kid gets caught up in a storyline

5) Absolute destruction: A monster truck is used to destroy a wrestler's car backstage

Well, not a problem so much as a kind of writers block. I started booking an angle because it sounded cool and never planned out the end.

It's a simple angle. I hired Randy Bumfhole (henceforth known as Randy Quarry) and stuck him storyline with Mikey James. Basically, Randy shows up as the heel, and when he comes into contact, he's like "Remember me from SWF?" to Mikey and commences to absolutely menace Mikey. There's history between them, but neither is saying what exactly that entails.

I carry this on for the next month until they have a match at the next PPV (Fight Night XIV!) and Mikey comes out with the win. He's more over and frankly better than Randy at this point. Anyway, Mikey wins, but the next week, on my Friday show, I have Randy keep the trash talking up. Mikey responds by knocking him dead with a spinning hook kick backstage, and that's where we are now.

The problem is, I have no idea where to go with this angle, because I never took the time to figure out what their history together actually was! That's where you guys come in. I need to spit ball some ideas here. I'm two weeks away from the next PPV and I want to hopefully reveal what went down between them to make them hate each other so much either the show before or at the PPV.

EDIT: Keep in mind, I run a perf>pop fed, and this is my most soap opera-y angle yet. I'd like to keep it somewhat grounded.

So I once ran a feud nearly identical to this. In the feud I made it a running punchline that it was never established about what the original feud was about, just that it had lead to this ridiculous blood feud.

I think maybe two years down the line the big reveal was that it was over damage to a hire car or some such silliness which had just got ridiculously out of hand

Probably just the lumberjack look Rowan has but perhaps someone on Creative is a fan...

In awesome news, Samoa Joe finally won gold in WWE!!!

And Bryan delivered the promo of the week in a post-show interview:

That Bryan promo is incredible.

It's like "Hey, look at these minor league guys who are already better than the guys we have. Our main roster sucks!"

Or maybe I'm being the 'Get off my lawn' old man here. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I kinda hate the glut of callups. To me it makes them just a bunch of guys. I’d far rather they stagger them and spread them out.

I kinda miss the old school brand split where the brand owners would bid on new sign ups.

As someone who never watched WCW I always remember the Steph / Bischoff competing over Scott Steiner. Made him a huge deal when he debuted and someone you had to keep an eye on.

It's a guaranteed A match, and could touch A*. It's not the rubber and no stipulation currently booked.

Can I bring myself to take the hit on the show rating and put the title fight on last?

Tbf, with a world title match, hot feud and I'm assuming Spade & Bruce's overness you could probably get an A match anyway in SWF if booked smartly.

I'd open the show with the Starr / Hawkins match. Should avoid any penalties that way.

I know everyone wants Becky to beat her at Mania (I certainly do) but Ronda has been consistently good and sometimes great in the ring. OK the first promo was bad but she handled the rough crowd well enough and the promo on Becky at the end was great. She even seemed to go off script with the "kill" line.

In a segment with Becky of course she’s gonna be the heel and get booed. Wrestling is based on having good and bad guys.

Ronda is a UFC star who has run through the entire women’s division in 12 months. At this point Ronda represents everyone who calls out wrestling as fake BS. When Becky takes her on she’ll be defending that.

Whether that’s the feud they run with or not that’s still the stakes. Hence WWE fans naturally be drawn to booing Ronda.

 9. I wish impact would bite the bullet and drop down to one hour. If they want to get people tuning back in they need to make it as accessible as possible. Two hour tv shows are a complete chore and with as much wrestling out there as there are at the moment just isn't sustainable. Turn impact into a shit hot hour of wrestling every week and they'll start to get the viewing figures up again.
 10.
God knows how they keep Becky hot from here. For me the money would be in:

Becky vs Nia Jackie Royal Rumber: Becky hands out an absolute ass whooping. I’m talking a stoppage win because Nia can’t put up a fight anymore. Absolutely brutal shit.

Becky vs Ronda at WrestleMania: Tough one to book but I’d probably have Stephanie McMahon help Ronda win to set up a year long pursuit for a rematch.

One thing I do know, I can’t remember the last time I was as invested in a character.

 11. She had a rubbish run in Impact as Brittany, bouncing between gimmicks cause they had no idea what to do with her. I'd love to see her get another proper run in Impact. I feel for Cheerleader Melissa as her most high profile roles to date have always been hidden behind very OTT gimmicks that don't really give much opportunity to growth.
 12.
Could you introduce a third wrestler and take it off him in a triple threat?

Failing that I'd pick 2 <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 13.
Russo era TNA is your friend here.

Feast or Fired match where they only have "fired" briefcases every year.

A cage match where no one can actually physically climb out of the cage despite that being the only way to win (the wrestlers could end up having to team up mid match just to escape the thing).

A stable of jobbers dressed in morph suits (but one of them happens to be awesome)

 14.
If you think Cage in Impact is something you should see him in Lucha Underground. Some of the stuff he can do is insane and just looks absolutely brutal.

Really excited to see what sort of matches / feuds he has going forward. I kinda hope they keep him in the X Division for a while as think that'll do wonders for the belt.

 15.
If you think Cage in Impact is something you should see him in Lucha Underground. 16.
Interesting read and direction you're going with.

Never been able to get a long term save going but I always see TCW as being a prime place for MMA style teams (experienced talker taking on a role overseeing / training workers, talking them up to get title shots etc).

Still retains an air of SE with internal power struggles developing (e.g. I wouldn't have all the members with the same alignment but maybe sharing similar characteristics).

 17.
Have a look at Reggie Tate. Not sure what he starts off like but 3 years in he's got really solid basics, B+ Athleticism & A star quality.

Has B- menace to start but can move up to big heavyweight which should give him a boost.

He's limited to Australia so might take some editing but if you want to make it realistic (cause come on, written contract in the SWF who are gonna push you as their next big thing vs toiling in the Australian Indies) you could give him a fat contract, signing on, contract promises to give him a super push etc.

Might have an ego to manage but there's gotta be some drawbacks to in-game editing <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 18. Feels like Primus Allen would be a spectacular fit for this role.
 19. See I always figure the lack of much meaningful popularity at the bottom of the card means the likes of Jameson, DWN etc can be fairly quickly brought up to lower mid card status and above really quickly just by being booked in decent matches + angles. Not sure there's a pressing need for a developmental territory and there's certainly enough deadwood to operate a one in one out policy to avoid bloating the roster.

Small update on my WCW 2000 game.
I think it might be toast.

1) When the game began I only had 3 months left on the media contracts for Thunder/Nitro/PPVs.

2) After I dropped to Cult, TBS, TNT and Time Warner Cable no longer want to negotiate with me.

3) Unfortunately because we're all part of the Time Warner media umbrella it means I can't negotiate with anybody else either.

4) The requirements for TBS and Time Warner Cable were impossible to meet since it required popularity thresholds in markets I had no way to meet in the time allotted.

5) So I go into the editor and start playing around. Only to find that in no way, shape or form can you mess with a media group in an active game.

6) I wind up reducing TNT, TBS and TWC's requirements so they'll negotiate.

7) I can negotiate with TNT and TBS just fine, but when I try to negotiate with TWC, Time Warner Media Group blocks it because for some reason Time Warner Cable isn't part of the Time Warner Media group. So I have no avenue to get on PPV in America.

8) This means A: I either broadcast all my PPVs on TNT or TBS, really turning them all into Clash of the Champions OR B: After my existing contracts are up, edit TBS and TNT so they have no coverage anywhere, allowing me to get another contract. I don't know if that will have unforeseen consequences.

The Eric Bischoff / Fusient problem.

Good example of the game simulating real life situation that little bit too well.

I want to do something along the lines of MITB, Elimination Chamber or the Royal Rumble but put a fresh twist on it. Any ideas? (Incidentally:o, you can watch me book this on YouTube here:

)

Multi person cage / cell match - first person to escape the cage gets a title shot?

Exact structure of the cell could either be a normal cage, the ready to rumble cage or something like the one TNA tried that one time when Hogan first arrived.

Could steal a page out of CGC and call it the Surival of the Fittest match.

 22. You could steal a page out of the TNA playbook with the way they brought back the main event mafia to take on the bigger threat of aces and eights. Put up against a heel authority lead faction, through a combination of nostalgia and hatred for the others, id say the NWO would be a pretty over face stable in that position as a sort of underground resistance.
 23.
Sounds like last nights ONO was worth watching (even getting the first 4* rating I can remember seeing from Impact Wrestling in the past 12 months).

Really hope this is the start of things to come with Jarrett back in charge of creative. If we get anywhere near to the TNA of the late 2000s, pre Hogan era, then count me in.

On a tangent - is it time to change the name of this thread to "Official Impact discussion" yet?

 24.
I had a similar problem and decided to try to elevate a bunch of midcarders to see if any of them could hang with the champ in a multi-man / handicap match.

In CGC I just ran a short programme of Jack DeColt vs Del Veccio for the title. I amped up ADV's chances of winning by making it no DQ which meant that his bodyguard Prometheus could get involved at will. With Jacks psychology and selling I'd back him to make it a PPV worthy main event (well just about). Scored a B rating and ADV came out with high momentum. Win!

Other alternative is to have the champ take on several midcarders in a 4 way match. He doesn't have to be pinned himself which ups the kayfabe chances of losing and could be a good way to showcase your up and comers against the champ.

As long as the in ring skills are there and the champ is over enough it should still deliver a decent rating.
