  1. Wow. They feature Joe vs Punk somewhere in some tournament. I already knew Punk would win, though I refused to believe it. The ending to that match was average at best. They put the ending on youtube with the all-caps "18 YEARS IN THE MAKING". How dare they even reference it and proceed to crap all over the history. They could've went for this and make something meaningful - potentially even legendary - but it's all just short-term booking. I guess that's what I don't like about AEW. Granted, I only watched the youtube segment and didn't watch the full match, let alone show, but somehow I don't believe there's much quality to be found in AEW. Still haven't gotten a single of their PPV's because I just don't get hyped for any of it. Seeing this wasted opportunity just strenghtens my opinion on this company. edit: nvm. I watched the promo before and it appears it's an Owen Hart tribute. I guess putting on this match could be interpreted as respect towards Owen, but there were alternatives. Anyhow I probably shouldn't be this harsh. I should probably just let AEW be and stop being frustrated about the way they handle the industry. Example: Julia Hart had a match with a local, which is introduced as "tough as a buck". Yet she finched with every weak-looking strike Julia threw at her. The size difference is also handled poorly, as Julia nearly got dropped while performing an offensive move herself. And this was a match less than 2 minutes long... Why do they put W-L records on like it's some legitimite company and then proceed to use an insane amount of jobbers to raise these up? It doesn't make sense. It's a joke. This is the same card as the Punk vs Joe match ffs! The worst thing is the other girl is made to look like an idiot. They probably feel great to be featured in a main show, but doesn't this damage her credibility a lot? She did a good job however, and that's what matters, but these... fans probably don't see it that way. As for the fans: I thought AEW was populated by disgruntled WWE fans that were disillusioned by the product, but it appears they are just... "new" fans? They post "Julia's so awesome", "Her psychology has improved so much", "What a winning streak: give her the title!"... What? Either she got build up from a skill-less manager to a halfway decent worker (I'm guessing this is the case, and props to her for that, but couldn't you improve in training first?), or their standards really are low. At least they are screaming "JULIA! JULIA!" even though she's clearly a heel, which again, just alienates the product imo.
  2. Skyrim has a mod that removes your Dragonborn powers and makes you weaker so even bandits will be a thread at first. Kingdom Come also has you start as a bum. I also loathe games that program you to be a god amongst men. But sometimes it's unavoidable. BG3 had their preview before release. Not excited about the engine as mentioned before but it's a fact that this will be an epic game for sure. Also: intercourse with bears.
  3. The problem for me is threefold: - No full entrances - Very small roster (especially in comparison with WWE games) - Bad graphics (some wrestlers look horrible) Maybe I could have fun with it, but full price this doesn't look like a good deal at all, and quite frankly I won't even buy it for 20$ tbh.
  4. People seem to be positive. For me, it just looks too much like crap. I love the old Yukes games to death but this seems like it aged. I probably won't be able to play this. Too arcadey. Maybe i cobverted to the slower style of the 2k games. Never played them as much as this year. Not even close.
  5. You're not making sense. If the game says they barely can move, then they're barely moving. There's no graphics that would have them physically move, so you're making it up in your head. As in the real fights, they can still move awkwardly. Once the fighter can no longer move, a leg kick TKO is called. It happens in the game too.
  6. From the men, you mean? I optimized it for women-only games. Any other games (like default), you should just be importing the fighters.
  7. I think so? It's still working for me. Seems to me that - based on the name - you already dl'ed it 2 times.
  8. How do you deduct they are very mobile? I definitely get the feeling they are almost standing still, which - by the way - doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. If their opponent closes the distance, they can still hit very hard. Unlike body shots, leg kicks don't impact their stamina (at least not directly).
  9. A good question. You never know actually, as it's such a mish-mash of combinations. But does it matter?
  10. I tried making J-Ro as a cross-project between rendering and AI. This was the best one that came up imo. I don't know why I always try to create her first. Not really that big of a fan. The full model looks like crap though. :L
  11. These are Dreamshaper v6 models: The following are Leonardo Select modes:
  12. Wow, it's been over two years since the thread has seen any life. Anyone on the boards who still follows UFC, let alone Bellator or ONE or others? I've kind of lost interest when the big stars retired, but now with McGregor returning (allegedly for TUF) I might rekindle my interest. Problem is you can't watch it without a creditcard, unlike WWE. Bit of a bummer. Maybe the 'merger' will change that.
  13. The prompts I use are very simple. I see a lot of people using a crapload of them, but I fail to see their effect in the resulting render. Even a bunch negative prompts like "mangled hands", but I'd be surprised if thàt would solve the issue. XD I tried using "four-fingered", but that just mangles them more. I use "female" then either "athlete" or "fighter", the desired hair lenght and colour, "short top, shorts", "looking at viewer", and then "hdr" or "highly detailed" but I doubt those have an effect. And that's pretty much it. The rest is given by the picture/pose you upload. I feed it a picture I rendered, or one of the UFC portraits you use. Leonardo has a script that deviates a little from the original, with sometimes nice results. Yours seem very close to the originals. You can sometimes deduct the real life fighter behind it. But then again, the clothing and hands are really close to the original. Would also be interested in the prompts of others. The styles vary based on the finetuned models. I'll post some others later using a more artsy style.
  14. Wow, those look really good. As MJ doesn't do free trials anymore, I applied somewhere else (Leonardo) and got some decent results, though not the quality you seem to get with MJ. Here's some examples, but boy... there's a lot of mangled arms and the other tropes. I first tried the female weights, but the characters on the tops are also mangled as usual. As with MJ, this one does take 'some' effort in getting some suitable pictures to feed it. However, these are made using the standard UD2.1 model and not my proper one. To anyone interested: this is a selection of a 100+ lesser looking ones, so you often get crap and have a limited number of tries as a trial user. I might consider subbing for a month or two, but what's the point? Either we release a full freefighters pack for the reallife pack. It seems very hard to replace the C-verse workers with these as it's difficult desribing their appearance. I'll try a more "portrait" style tomorrow like the ones you posted. But literaly anyone with time can contribute to this. It doesn't cost any money (yet :p), so if a lot of people collaborate, you can get a sizable database together. For "very easy" mode, you can try SoulGen where it's just a basic description that can result in these more cartoony but imo suitable renders for a real life mod:
  15. Watched the D&D movie recently. The pacing is crazy but you get a nice nostalgic touch with some cool combat and magic scenes. Should be at least on par with the expectations of a normal D&D player or enthousiast. The Super Mario movie had a BIG dose of nostalgia, combined with family fun. Someone of our age categorie (I'm thinking 30-50) won't appreciate the plot, obviously, but the good performance of Bowser should satisfy them. For kids it should be a nice afternoon.
  16. Definately good for real world mods, but how would you use these? Nobody uses full body pictures and the quality is very low.
  17. Welcome back! I guess it's the unavoidable itch to play another session of wmma. 😎 I agree it's too easy to make money. But i don't mind honestly.
  18. Don't know if it makes sense to match realistic-looking renders with the more cartoony renders. Maybe for hair, but I reckon it doesn't look good. As for a seperate thread: not sure if people are intending on posting many more. I for one am not planning on it. It was just a demonstration to make me understand what it was and show that you can create these in mere minutes without any work.
  19. Is there a reason why you're positioning them all different and out of focus? Or with half their chest showing? They also look cropped, especially the women. Some of them have so much shadow in the face that it's just not usable, even as a "dark" character, as it's too zoomed out. The renders themselves are nice though.
  20. Here are some free workers for "real" databases, made using an AI. This one is Soulgen. Obviously not meant as rerenders as there's no option to import a pic in the free version. You already get these if you barely use the inputs. I don't know - and doubt - that intense descriptions of the face will work, as some prompts simply are ignored. I also wonder if you can create "average looking" renders with this AI. I'll try it once. And yes, you can make men with this AI, as some people claim you can't.
  21. You should take a break then, but why remove the work done? As I said before, it will cost time and money. Given the fresh and new nature of your work, you could contemplate a crowdfund, but afaik the render work shared here has been free for over a decade and it would set quite a precedent. If it helps, you should set clear goals who you will do and stop there, otherwise it can and will get out of hand. For instance: just the big 3 and stop there.
  22. It looks really cool, until you start to notice how one arm looks really long and another clip into the body. That and recognising letters/characters are the things AI can most improve upon. But if you don't really look for it, you don't really see it, quite like the photoshopped movie posters.
  23. For those interested, this is the current MWApr2023 but with adjusted women stats. Some are a matter of perspective, though some were just wrong. Corrected some reaches, ages, extended everyone's retirement plans, updated Invicta records, and added 2 Invicta fighters. Also removed a lot of fixed AI attributes, especially those that make no sense (submission artists with "ground and pound"). I also added all pre-game results for Invicta FC. You will have to delete about 20 results named "Invicta FC xxx" or you'd have doubles. This is really only useful if you are in fact playing that company as it doesn't impact gameplay. Unfortunately, you can't just delete the women and import them back into the database without extra work as it severs the bonds with the following: 1. Contracts: You'd have to readd the manually (though there's a mass editor). 2. Pre-results: You'd have to reimport them all. 3. Teams: Female fighters are no longer there. You have to delete all teams and reimport them. For this you'd need to copy the MWApr2023 database and rename the folder in the "databases" folder. You can't really do it the other way around, which is importing the MWApr2023 db into this one, as you'd have to redo all contracts for the men, which is going to take ages. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with it unless you care about lower level female fighters. Just sharing it for those that want to play a women-only game to speed up the gameplay. Given that all earlier links are broken, here's the link to the custom background thread for women's backgrounds like these. apr23_women.rar
  24. That would indeed be something the game could use. The 'problem' with the gameplay atm is that there's always good fights to find and book, and you simply do not care who is champion. Though your belts will gain prestige more when they are succesfully defended (I think), it doesn't matter much. With no locker room to manage like in TEW20 and few negative effects there's no reason not to want certain fighters to win. Sure, their fighting style can be boring, resulting in less pop gains and event ratings. Sure, they could hold on to a submission and you can suspend them (or not), but it doesn't feel like I'm being impacted much. The morale system is a nice addition but it's pointless atm (and effectively impossible to get people unhappy, even if you try). It would be interesting gameplay however to have obliged press conferences where you have to included your main eventers. If it's Nick Diaz and he causes trouble or no-shows, that could significantly hurt your company, where you'd have to decide whether to keep him (and the viewership) or let him go.
  25. I edited the data in the database to be able to start a game in 2005 with just the women. The game runs superfluidly and you can easily complete a year in under an hour (including booking and watching fights). I'm posting it here just to share in case anyone wants to try it out. My simulations were pretty accurate compared to reality. - All records cleared, contracts removed, employment histories removed, momentum and heat reset. - The few active fighters in january 2005 have been given their records at the time, and given the auto-experience treatment. - Went through the UFC roster and adapted the stats, loosely based on the UFC video game (supposedly made by Cormier but not superaccurate imo). - Over 500 GIF'd pics from the most prominent fighters from the female weights. - Adjusted the logo's from various organisations to allow the GIF's to look distinct in the power rankings, which I took a lot of effort for by making all the GIF's. Also fixed a lot of inconsistencies in the db (wrong debut dates & most extreme stat values). NOTE: I did not regress the stats, so either set potentials to 10/20 (most are set at 50 by default, except Shevchenko & Nunes & some others) or set training speed to "very slow". They might not be superaccurate yet as I barely watched any fights the last years, but they are better than they were as only the top P4P women seemed accurate to me imo. Also: Strikeforce and EliteXC are debuting but are preset to fail in the years they respectively folded, so if you plan on playing those, be sure to delete the narrative or set your own cash back to whatever you want if you're in debt. You can just import new fighters from the next versions of the MW mod, as long as you clear them manually. wmma pics.rar
