  1. Oh, Ozzy's winning that match. If it's the last thing he ever does, Ozzy is winning that match. :D I have definitely had some missions like that in my life. Matter of fact, I think the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match in WWE 2K20 was such a thing for me. Though I'll admit I wasn't as invested in that game as I am in this one.
  2. The Money In The Bank Ladder Match that your character HAS to win in MyRise... might just be the most sadistic, inhumanely horrid, morally reprehensible, in every possible way evil thing ANY human being on Earth has ever conjured up from the fiery depths of Hell.... And I am somewhat frustrated by it.
  3. I'm loving MyRise. It ... does take FOREVER to pound out your move-set. It's a monumental undertaking.. but I'm really loving the first guy I created, (a supremely cocky heel actor type). I've now created a second, an MMA-based Striker I plan to play as a no nonsense babyface. The practice mode, a little option you have in the Create Moveset section, has REALLY helped me figure out the controls a lot. I've actually unlocked that Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero from 1997 that I was wanting. I'll start working on the rest later. I'm in the painstaking process of copying my first MyRise Character over to the custom superstar section. Sadly, you don't seem to be able to use your MyRise characters elsewhere... but I wanted to, so .. I did what I had to do. So far the nWo Souled Out arena and the Starrcade 1996 arena are my two favorite places to play.
  4. Vince... does seem to have lost his mind. In other news, it seems Big E suffered a broken neck on that belly to belly suplex from Ridge Holland. Seems pretty serious, from his post on the Twitter. Here's hoping he makes as full and speedy a recovery as possible.
  5. I'm on PS4, for the record. And as for the things you HAVE to do in a match... I'm pretty sure it's not a "Mission Failed" thing if you lose/can't pull it off. Rather, a the story keeps on going, but now you have a loss kind of thing. Outside of the ShowCase mode, I mean. I did have consequences for not reaching all the objectives there. In MyRise, the only objective seems to be to win. Also, I haven't so far had any incidents where you trigger a cut scene, and your guy loses in the cut scene. Near as I can tell, in MyRise at least, winning and losing is on you. My guy's never been pinned or submitted, but there was triple threat match where one of my opponents pinned the other, while I was outside the ring, hurt, and not able to get back in in time. In that case... my guy just missed out on an opportunity in Japan. Then he picked up an even bigger opportunity in Japan later, which he took full advantage of. One thing though: BE CAREFUL when picking out which matches to take. You don't HAVE to do everything that's offered to you, and I just saw a live streamer have his guy accidentally turned face because of this. It should give you a notification if a face/heel turn is a possibility for any given match. I got really lucky with this. I designed my guy to be as much of a heel as possible, but William Regal offered him a chance to compete for the North American Championship, which set off a storyline with Damian Priest that REALLY made my guy feel like a good guy. Which after the things he'd done to that point, was quite a feat. My next story opportunity, involving my former fellow PC training partner Hector Flores had two options: one the face route and one the heel route, and in that moment, the face route felt absolutely natural to me, and has only grown more exciting since. It actually feels like my guys building an authentic WWE resume here.
  6. That's... the reason I haven't been able to unlock '97 Rey and Eddie. I have to specific things in a match, and I couldn't figure out how to get Eddie on the ropes for the backflip DDT. I was able to win, so I did get the Halloween Havoc arena, but not Rey and Eddie, so that stinks. In MYRise, haven't seen much of that, aside from one match where my guy had to be the one that scored the pin in a tag team match, which I did. Having to get specific grades? I haven't seen that, so I don't think it's a thing anymore. COuld be wrong.
  7. For my money, WWE 2k22 has been nothing short of amazing thus far. I have friggin' loved it. I had planned to do this, and planned to do that... but once I got started in MyRise... I can't barely pull myself away from it. My character is a former actor turned wrestler, and was designed to be so much of a heel that he'd make The Miz and MJF look and each other and go... Good Lord, what an *******... and boy, did he pull it off! He had a heck of a time at the Performance Center, and really made a splash when he went to NXT, (he chose NXT over Raw or SmackDown), but after a hellacious feud with Damian Priest, he won the North American championship... And then had a fun storyline with one of his training partner from the PC... the one guy I'd chosen not to alienate, so... he ... liked my dude. For a while, he was the only one. This storyline led to my guy SHOCKINGLY becoming a babyface, and making it a whole new ballgame. Anywho... I like it.
  8. So... I have officially pre-ordered WWE 2K22: The nWo 4-Life Edition. Next up: MLB The Show 22. That... should just about do it for my video game budget for the year.
  9. As a near lifelong fan of the show I Love Lucy, I just watched Being The Ricardos on the Amazon Prime, and ... I liked it quite a lot. Also, mild side note, I thought it was pretty cool to actually get to see what a filming of Lucy's radio show My Favorite Husband - which was the original basis for I Love Lucy - was probably like. I've listened to several episodes of that on the I Love Lucy DVD sets, so... yeah. That was fun. Also, very into the whole Scream franchise right now, in anticipation of the new movie. I've watched the first Scream about four times in the past few weeks. And the rest of them once, each. I like the first one best, what can I say? Can't way for the new one to come out though. Looking forward to that.
  10. Season Four of Cobra Kai was absolutely, irrefutably, without even the slightest shadow of a doubt... AMAZING!!!!! And I loved it. Moving, right along...
  11. I like super heroes all right. Not as much as some, but to an extent. I enjoyed Agents of SHIELD a lot, and I've liked most Batman and Spider-Man things I've seen. I haven't really gotten to deep into the Marvel cinematic universe for whatever reason, though I have enjoyed what I have seen. I'll give Titans a try. I remember watching a Swamp Thing show WAY back in the day when I was a kid, so I'd be willing to give a new one a chance as well, (I'm assuming by the post that there's a new one, I've let myself get quite a bit out of the loop.)
  12. Watched the show Heels on Starz, and I thought it was pretty great. A solid show about wrestling. CM Punk showed up in a couple of episodes, and Mick Foley was in one as well. I liked it. Now, I've signed up for HBO Max, and I've started watching The Outsider. I'm all the way up to episode 8 so far. I've enjoyed that very much so far.
  13. I don't think so, (and I'm pretty sick of the overly woke stuff myself). Didn't really see anything that seemed forced to me, honestly. Also, as it relates to the age thing.... that did cross my mind as well. I don't have any answers. As for what Michael does for the rest of the year.... that doesn't really matter in this case. This picks up literally minutes after the last one ended, (which puts it in 2018, if that affects your calculations regarding his age), so he, far as I know, hasn't had to spend a year out in the wild just yet.
  14. Saw Halloween Kills. I dunno. Maybe it hit me at just the right time, or from just the right angle.. but I loved the daylights out of it! I can't wait to see it again. I even mentioned somewhere in the wonderful world of social media that after forty years, Michael Myers may have finally surpassed the mighty Jason Voorhees. Michael's ALWAYS had the cooler theme song. Also, I think, and I may be wrong about this because it's been a minute since I've seen a lot of the older movies, that Michael has always been pretty much a normal, living breathing human being, albeit a very twisted one who liked to do awful things to people for various reason. You'd typically see him "killed" at the end of one movie, and the beginning of the next, it'd show that, although it looked like he'd been killed, he'd actually survived, and was coming back. I remember in one of them, he was washed away or something, and rescued by a guy living in a cabin out in the woods who nursed him back to health. Before leaving for his at that point annual rampage, he took special cared to kill the daylights out of his rescuer. Can't remember which movie that was though. Like I said, it's been a minute. This getting stronger as he kills thing could just be speculation in the new film, but it could be a decent way to explain his growing power without having to go into too much detail about it. It could be cool to not know exactly why he is like he is.
  15. I enjoyed the show, for the most part. I can admit this: I never, even for a minute thought the secret signing was CM Punk.... until the ladder match, and I saw the thing they would be fighting to pull down was a literal brass ring. For some reason, that flashed me back to Punk's Pipebomb Promo, and got me to thinking... you know, maybe... I'm very happy to have Christian in AEW. I've said in various places on social media that I thought a problem with Christian being the secret signing was that he's a 3,000 Hits Hall of Famer, and the fans were all wanting/expecting a 500 Home Runs Hall of Famer. Some folks liked that analogy, and I was proud. I do wish the ring explosion had gone better. I've heard some people say that was Shockmaster level bad. I don't know if I'd go that far, but it may have been YET-AY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Giant at the end of Halloween Havoc 1995 bad. Moxley's promo after the show definitely helped, (Omega might be tough as hell, but he can't build an exploding ring for... well, you know). In general, I'm not all that big a fan of the cinematic matches thing, I'm much more of an old school traditionalist, but I thought this one looked pretty cool, and was definitely a better showing for one of my all time favorites, Sting, than anything WWE had given him. Sting's match against Triple H, and then his match against Seth Rollins... I'm just thankful he doesn't have to go out like that, is all. Solid show. I paid the $49.99 to watch, and I didn't regret it.
  16. Dang, wish I had seen this thread a lot sooner. Been having this problem myself. Thankfully, I think I have it resolved now, thanks to this forum. Good to see I wasn't the only one having this issue. Misery loves company, I guess.
  17. Just discovered it from your link, and created my own account. Looking forward to adding stuff to it.
  18. Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas! Here's hoping we're all here and well, to do this thing again next year!
  19. For the record, when I got excited because Peacock had every season of SNL, I was excited because I'd get to watch all the shows I grew up a fan of in the 90s, with my favorite cast including Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Norm MacDonald, David Spade, and of course Chris Farley, LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!!!!! Not to mention the classic episodes from the 70s and 80s that I either hadn't seen before, or didn't remember all that well. Couldn't really tellyou anything about 2020 SNL, as the only thing I've really seen is Bill Burr's monologue and one of the skits he was in on YouTube, (I like Bill Burr, what can I say?). I'm almost strictly an 80s and 90s guy. :D:o If there was such a season as the one you mentioned, I'm pretty sure it's there. As for talk shows, they've never really been my thing, but I watched my share of Jay Leno back in the 90s, as well as Conan O'Brien. I watched a little Jimmy Fallon a few years back, but I haven't kept up with it. And I watched The Colbert Report until it ended, and The Daily Show up until Jon Stewart left. I don't have anything against the new guy, FTR, I just kinda stopped is all. I watch Johnny Carson on Antenna TV from time to time. And when Robin Williams is the guest on there, I DVR it. I always like the old stuff.
  20. Yeah, Peacock has ExoSquad in its entirety. Very glad to see I'm not the only one that remembers that show. Sad they only ever released the first season on DVD. FTR, that MIGHT be on the free version. You have to upgrade to the premium version to get all the new stuff or most of their main things like SNL, but ExoSquad MIGHT be available on the free version, not sure.
  21. As a true child of the 90s, and a certified lover of nostalgia, I checked out the new Saved By The Bell on Peacock, (yes, I've got that one as well. It's got SeasQuest AND ExoSquad among its list of shows, not to mention ALL 419 seasons of Saturday Night Live... my hands were tied). I was kind of expecting bad, but I thought it was pretty good actually. Not sure if it matches up with the original, but it was a solid effort nonetheless.
  22. Very true, and very good point. Sadly, I'm not liking it nearly as much as I used to, and I guess I'm just hoping it'd get a little cooler, for my own sake.
  23. In my neck of the woods, wrestling seemed pretty cool back in the late 90s... those wonderful, long ago days when I was a happy, happy teenager. In my high school, I remember black shirts being everywhere - among the guys anyway, I don't remember the girls caring all that much - all adorned with the iconic Austin 3:16 or the mighty, mighty nWo logo. If you're wondering, my shirt had the nWo logo. I was, as Kevin Nash so often said, nWo 4 Life! Still am. :( However cool it may have been in those days, it's every bit as far away from being cool now. The way they book it these days, seems like they don't even want it to be cool. We have seen what I like to call the complete and utter wussification of professional wrestling, and I'm not sure it can really ever recover.
