  1. Haha!! I was thinking of clownish things that the freakish Super Pinocho could do, and that was one of the ones I came up with. I figured that if I'm going to lean that far into the abstract by including Pinocho, I should go all the way.

  3. Nancy Sullivan is in the game, as Fallen Angel. As Rick mentioned, we cut out a vast majority of women wrestlers. Without female promotions, there really isn't much point in including more chicks. Octagon; The Master of the Eight Angles. Very cool wrestler that I'll add to the next update. I'll probably throw him into CMLL, though, as AAA isn't in the works.
  4. Thank you very much for the information, Mr. Dracos; much appreciated. The 'ripping at the mask' moves are an excellent suggestion. The one problem I can see with that, though, is that WreSpi has no masks, per se. You might end up fighting an AI rudo, for example, and find the villain trying to remove a mask that might not be there. (edit: XoX pointed this out before me - heh.) Still... as a 'roleplayer', I would love to have the moves. Were one to do an efed based on the Exhibition mode, the problem above wouldn't quite matter, as you can dictate who is wrestling. We'll see what we can come up with.
  5. Because the British mat based wrestling is so interesting to me, I've expanded upon their chain take down and submission moves. Also, the turnbuckle series really makes for some neat situations. In my last test with it, the Sheik struggled to remove the turnbuckle cover after having already untied the strings. Abdullah the Butcher crept up behind me, though, and floored me with a fork jab to the throat. Abby received a message from Allah, then dropped a Sudanese Meat Clever for the win. Enjoy! Update Changes: v2.1 * Worker(s) Added: Princess Paula (Joint/Manager) * Moves Added: Step Over Leg Lock (Finisher), Pat Roach Special (Finisher), Double Knee Back Breaker (Finisher), Leg Trip Step Over Leg Lock (Finisher), Standing Arm Lever (Low), Double Arm Lever (Medium), Suspended Double Arm Lever (Finisher), Further Half Nelson Take Down (Medium), Rear Head Chancery (Medium), Texas Trash Compactor (Finisher), The Samoan Drop (Finisher), Double Arm Take Down (Low), Untie Turnbuckle Cover (Medium/Low Cheat), Remove Turnbuckle Cover (High/Medium Cheat), Exposed Turnbuckle Smash (Finisher/High Cheat) * Movesets Added: Black Bart, Stan Frazier * Various Worker Tweaks * Various Moveset Tweaks * New Move, Logo, and New Worker Pics ____________________________________________

  8. Would that be Greg, or Verne? Seriously, I like Flair - but I'm a Bockwinkel fan. It's apples and oranges; relative to time periods and locations. Your comments on the opponents is rather misleading, though. You have Bockwinkel covering 10 years (Verne to Hansen)? Flair's opponents listed covers 3. Were we to line their schedules up from 81-84, I am certain that Flair would have a much more impressive listing of opponents than Bockwinkel would. That's not to slag Greg Gagne or Hulk Hogan or anyone else Bockwinkel might have faced - nor is it saying that Scott McGee or George South or any other midcarder that Flair may have faced were quasi-deities - nor is it saying that either men carried more scrubs than the other. But come on... Steamboat, Rhodes, Race, Wahoo, the Funks, the Von Erichs, Brody, Baba, Colon, the Briscos - the list of 'A' talent would be endless on Flair's side. Of course it would, he was World Champ of a much bigger territorial blanket than Bockwinkel ever was. Anyway - I always root for the underdog. Name me anyone under the age of 40 that thinks Bockwinkel is better than Flair.
  9. It's kind of like the Butter Battle Book, iujim1; comparing the two. I would take any of the Lawler v. Bockwinkel matches over Steamboat v. Flair any day of the week and twice on Saturdays. Bock wasn't the outright showman that the Nature Boy was/is (who is?), but he was superb in his own right. As much of a fan of the AWA as I am, I do believe that the quality of Flair's average opponent was much much better than that of Bockwinkel's. Not to take anything away from Flair, mind you.
  10. Nick Bockwinkel is the greatest wrestler of all-time. Good luck getting White up to the point where Bock wipes the floor with him!
  11. The initial salaries are purely based on initial stats and assigned by the AI at the games start. White, being pretty talented and reasonably known in the various areas, starts off at that $6000/PPA. Granted, Verne Gagne wouldn't pay that in a million years - nor was White at the top of the card at this point, but there isn't much we can do about it. I would like to have the initial salaries setup in the editor, as TEW had it, just to better gauge them. But, we have what we have. The Written contract offered to you was a combination of several things, I would imagine. Again, though, it is all the AI's doing.
  12. For anyone interested, the first post in this thread will contain whatever changes are upcoming in the next update. Thanks for the information guys; much appreciated.
  13. Here is what I've been working on for the next update: Game Area Added: U.K. Wrestlers Added: Johnny Smith, Big Daddy, King Kong Kirk, Johnny Saint, Kendo Nagasaki (Peter Thornley), 'Gorgeous' George Gillette, Spencer Churchill, Mark Rocco (Black Tiger), David Taylor, Sean Regan, Bernie 'Bearcat' Wright, Wayne Bridges, Allan Kilby, Tony St. Clair, Marty Jones, and Jon Cortez Promotions Added: Joint Promotions Now, I have to admit to being even more ignorant about British wrestling than I am about the Mexican scene. I know that they went by rounds - which is impossible to recreate - and that they stressed mat wrestling above all else. I'm not really sure how promotions were set up, though. Is/Was the country promotional based, or was everything more along the lines of regions? Would there have been one 'super promotion' in the country at this time, or would they have all been more regional? I'd like to add at least one more promotion based in the U.K. - any suggestions?
  14. As Rick said, the game will remove anyone under the required age until they are old enough to enter the gameworld. I'm pretty sure that had we wanted to, we could have added Rey Mysterio Jr., Christopher Daniels, A.J. Styles - or anyone else for that matter. I won't get into a drawn out rant as to why more future rookies weren't included, but let's just say that as the person who did the physical work on the moves and movesets, the decision fell to me. As Rick concentrates on his Masters of the Mat project, I was actually leaning towards adding some more future rookies in the next update. I suppose this thread is good enough incentive to begin on that. If anyone has any suggestions, drop me a PM and I'll mull it over.
  15. Richard -- try downloading again, please. I made the dumb mistake of assuming everyone had downloaded the original data (w/folders). I just provided the hard data with that 1.35 update. Sorry about that.
  16. If anyone is interested in seeing what a very talented person can do with this scenario, I strongly encourage them to check out This Website. One of our fellow forum members, Socko, has put together a visual diary to a Rookie-to-Legend career, using the DOTT scenario as his game world. It is simply amazing, in my opinion. I am honestly humbled that something I created could inspire such a grand and entertaining project. Well done, Socko!
  17. v1.35 Update * AWA, WWF, CWA/Memphis, World Class, and PNW roster tweaks to better align to specific time periods * Ted Dibiase given the Georgia National Heavyweight championship - Larry Zybszko moved to AWA * Blackjack Mulligan assigned to the AWA as Babyface/Main Eventer * AI Rebounding Mind-set tweaked on many workers * Belt Pics Added/Assigned: too many to list (thanks to Socko for the majority of these new belt pics) * Several birth years fixed Enjoy!
  18. When you throw in the possibility of beating up Tony Atlas every night, the WWF may be too tempting to pass up! I've a question for anyone that may know the answer: Were piledrivers illegal in Japan, as they were in Mexico? I honestly can not remember ever seeing a piledriver in a Japan match, so I am not quite sure. (Edit: Once again, an error was corrected and reuploaded. Thanks to Socko for spotting it... For anyone that has downloaded an older 1.3 and would rather not be hassled with such a minor update, Ray Traylor should be listed as 1962 for his birth year [doh] -- and the Face Slam into the Mat move should result in 25 damage to the victim's head. Sorry to have that slip, guys.)
  19. Gino in the WWF is a very interesting situation. If the WWF offered you a Written deal, if you accept, you're stuck with them. Unless Gino quits on them down the line, of course, as he did with World Class (and just about everywhere he worked, historically). Hernandez is an odd bird. It's pretty hard seeing him working for any major promotion, despite his amazing 'Sports Entertainer' personality. While he's young enough to be the lead heel for any promotion for years on end, his attitude is one of the worst in the game. Personally, I would probably consider reuniting him with Tully (the Original Dynamic Duo) in Mid-Atlantic.
  20. I've only beaten him in a fair fight once - out of the three matches in our series. 45 minute time limit bout, I beat him at 43 minutes with a Rolling Hammerlock after working on his arm the entire match. I've had to get myself DQ'ed the other two times I've faced him, heh. Thank goodness Bock doesn't work in the WWF. I'm pretty sure I'll never see a no DQ title fight in the AWA.
  21. An error with Jimmy Hart has been corrected and uploaded, as well as several minor changes - most notably to the CWA (Memphis) promotion. Doh!
  22. Wow! B+ is fantastic, Johnny! Congrats on that! The last update beefed up certain guys to more 'Epic' proportions, which I personally felt was needed. Plus, Mr. Ryland's 'hulk up' addition in the last patch really enhanced that nicely. I've been having some titantic matches as Bockwinkel against the Hulkster, lately, and have really enjoyed the challenge. I can not wait for him to leave the AWA; I can finally have some peace, heh. I have yet to get a B+, though!
  23. Yeah - the booking AI sometimes books some strange matches. Playing as Gino Hernandez in World Class, one of my matches was Gino, Kerry Von Erich, and Buddy Roberts vs. David Von Erich, Michaels Hayes, and Terry Gordy. You can explain it away by saying Kerry and David were fighting to see who was the best Von Erich - but not one of the participants were turned before or after the match. So you had 2 Heels and a Face vs 2 Heels and a Face. The next card, David and Kerry teamed up against the Fabulous Freebirds; Gordy and Hayes. One of the weirdest ones I've experienced was playing as Nick Bockwinkel in a title defense against the Face Hulk Hogan. The AI somehow made Hogan into Thunderlips for that particular match, or something, as he was using the Heel Hogan moveset - heh. Imagine my surprise when the Hulkster started making fun of me midway through the match... it became obvious, though, when the big oaf nailed me with a Loaded Elbowpad Clothesline, went into his tights for a foreign object, which he raked my eyes with, then tried to knock me out with a Brass Knuckles punch. I'm not sure what's in those Hulkamaniac vitamins, but he better cut down on them. Pretty soon the little Hulkamaniacs will be blasting their kid sisters over the head with chairs. The next day I look, and Hulk is a face. Was really weird. Still... was an incredible match.

I wanted to add more flavor to the Mexican promotions. With that, I wiped away all Piledriver/Leaping Piledrivers from every lucha moveset I could find. In their place, the Martinete and Invertido Martinete have been added. These moves, in essence, are Piledrivers - the big exception being, they are far deadlier and Highly illegal. I have removed many lucha guys from being active in North America. This will prevent these illegal piledrivers from spreading outside of Mexico (and Japan) - in theory, at least. The special luchas, those that were global (Mil Mascaras), have no piledrivers at all in their initial movesets. Now... this takes into consideration that the player will show some honor when working in Mexico. If you go in there with standard piledrivers, you will be taking advantage of the situation. The second big change will be the touring schedules of the promotions. In general, I have sceduled the weekly 'on tour' events as falling on the same day; especially among the bigger promotions. This will hopefully prevent too many appearances by your worker, thereby slowing his stat/overness progression to a more reasonable level. You'll still be able to work more than one promotion, mind you. You'll just have far fewer appearances than in previous versions of the scenario. So - with that stuff in mind, I hope you enjoy it. And be a peach... periodically edit Ted to come out of hibernation. The poor bear needs to support his family. There will probably be one more touch-up update to the scenario, as I'm sure I may have missed a few things. Once that is out of the way, we're leaning towards incorporating U.K. and European promotions for a v2.0. After that, it's on to the 70's for me. Playing as the Sheik in his heyday is too cool to pass up. Enjoy! (And you mistake ranting for seriousness, guys. There's a freaking bear in the game, for crying out loud! How serious must I be? Heh)
