  1. I'm the opposite, Wednesday is the only day of the week where I'm actually overloaded with programs (temporarily), with Survivor and the Challenge. Don't have any other shows getting the DVR treatment at the moment. And competition is exactly what WWE needs, it's no accident that the ratings peaked and more stars were made when there were two viable mainstream choices on at the same time. Not saying it's imminent, just the eventual move as I see it.
  2. It’s funny how I also was interested to see the actual breakdown by segment this week and heard that stat about outdrawing Raw. Part of the fun in the ratingz warz days was that the TV audience was elastic and gave a good indicator of what segments were actually keeping people’s attention, who could draw, etc. WWE used to listen to those numbers a lot more than they seem to listen to crowds now... I wonder at what point would AEW declare “victory” over NXT and move nights to counterprogram one of the A shows, or if TNT would prefer to just keep them there.
  3. Yeah, Flint Athletic should probably change more than even just a name, I did enjoy Semi-Pro but an entire promotion devoted to it is pretty excessive. I like the renders and characters though, I'm thinking of just having their first show end in a Dewey the Bear-related tragedy and setting it as closed, then keep some of those guys in the data to bolster the indies.
  4. Progress Update: Don't know what got into me this week that I just wanted to focus on future workers from the default data, but I did a lot of work on switching up styles, adding attributes, importing workers that were new and then de-aging them, and fixing things that were way out of whack (some people I must have forgotten to modify their popularity and such). I wasted a lot of time switching back and forth between editors before discovering the major expansion of the search functions in game. The better method for changing so many people is definitely searching each attribute, recording who has it (smartphone pic from here on out, had enough typing and writing), and going through the main database and mass editing. Got through a few personality traits as I'm mostly just going through the ones with fewer people for now. When it comes down to someone being Stalwart or Professional though, I doubt I'm going to get that far in to making sure everyone is perfect. I'm heading out of town for 2 days tomorrow so I've reached out to the testers to send the data their way for a look. All 3 guys are definitely board vets who know what's what with the series so their feedback will certainly help. One of the old crew reached out about doing some pictures again, which I'm extremely stoked about, gave them a few of the new characters and can't wait to see how they turn out. Going to try to get CPW divvied up before I send the data, have a pretty fun idea for the promotion in the North West and I might try to set up the framework on that as well. How would people feel about setting Australia up with enough workers for a barebones game down there? They only have like 3 workers there now, but I got a good idea from the Celt (who definitely knows his 70's wrestling) to set up a now-closed Australian promotion similar to the original WCW that was based there from '60-78. As he pointed out, it could give some backstory to current vets who could plausibly have come in for some shows and a reason for some wrestlers to be there with talent and experience to start with.
  5. Start date is going to be 1977 and there is an Alliance set up for the territories. It's protective and trading, and all 5 promotions will be at war with SWF. Going to have had some jumps and roster moves from the last data, but not going to move ahead from January, just work them in chronologically as late 1976 moves. I think Dixie was split between SWF and CPW and I removed her SWF contract to keep her with CPW, as their women's division is expanding and the overall number of women will be too. AICW already had a few new females created to beef up their division and CPW and CWF will as well.

It’s going well so far, but obviously not as quick as I was thinking. AAFW is all set up save for some cosmetic touches and a redo of the promotion blurb, AICW the same, and SWF is probably half done. Also still fixing future workers, setting attributes, working through the picture file.</p><p> </p><p> I’ll probably give my testers a copy of the data soon... hoping to get SWF filled out first, and CPW’s roster divvied up. I have a good idea for what I want the North West promotion to be as well so I’ll set up that framework and see how it plays at that point. I will be broadening my horizons to the rest of the current world after I get the US touched up.</p><p> </p><p> That’s it for now, if there was something consistently wrong with the way old data feel free to mention it and I’ll see about cleaning it up too.</p>
  7. Quick progress update for the last couple of days- A lot of gimmick ratings on contracts were set to legendary, so I used mass edit to set them all to random. I will be setting a few back to high or low settings as I go through and do momentum, which will have to be set up individually. Going to take a little time but the new editor saves a lot of time in other ways, hopefully it shouldn't be too bad. Looked into the de-age function for possibly replacing all new workers in one fell swoop, decided it would make things too wonky. Going to keep going through and fixing minor details such as masks, body type, personality, that have been garbled through years of translation. Also adding young pictures and agers for anyone in the folder with that. This section also takes time and I'm horribly unorganized, so collecting all the mistakes that still exist here will probably be one of the things I ask of the testers first. I've updated Company product settings: AAFW: Classic Southern Wrasslin' AICW: Golden Age Pro Wrestling APWF: Classic Balanced* CCW: Classic Balanced CPW: Fast and Furious CWB: Silver Era Pro Wrestling FAG: Skit Based HWA: Stoner Hardcore SWF: Classic Sports Entertainment TWL: Classic Wild West* WIW: Respectful Wrestling *These two are different from their C'Verse settings, APWF is obviously going off the rails and if TWL isn't classic Wild West, what is? Also, this brings a nice diversity to the products. I'm also looking to add a tiny sized Bar Room Entertainment promotion to the North West to migrate some of the CPW roster over as they don't quite fit the promotion style anymore. CICW: Family Friendly Pro Wrestling CWF: Golden Age Pro Wrestling MPWF: Classic Lucha Libre OLLIE: Historic Lucha Libre (but with Classic set as core so it drifts towards it) RWA: Pseudo Sport Thinking of adding a second promotion to the UK, a small Catch Wrestling promotion. Knowing very little about the UK scene, I could definitely use some help here. BHOTWG: Classic Mainstream Puro GCG: Wrestling as a Sport JWW: Wrestling as a Sport QUEST: Royal Puroresu TC3: Strong Puroresu YPWW: Classic Balanced WBW: Golden Age Pro Wrestling I've started working company by company on the momentum/gimmick rating in contracts, personalities, adding to the roster, fixing title histories. AICW is done, I brought in a champion to make them a little more interesting to play as and beefed out both the regular and women's divisions, some free agents, a couple newly created characters. Hoping to get 3-4 of these done a day, while still hitting the picture folder and future workers. Still putting in good work!
  8. So, it's been several years and a few editions of TEW since the original 70's mod was released, but I was able to get a copy of the data that was posted and updated to TEW2016. Long story short, I've ported the data over and it's already pretty stable as-is. I know the photo folder has been added to so some people are probably going to have to call out their work for credit if they see it but I feel that the people deserve an updated C'Verse 70's mod! Public Beta Released June 1st Data https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mtYsLpcCQjHQY6g9S9drwB8deXGxCmZb/view?usp=sharing Pictures https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pfbwv9qByFxGAprZCzGIxaBTR4BS3jgm/view?usp=sharing *A few workers had to have name changes because the file wouldn't zip with accents. El Aguila Americana and his hijo are the only ones I remember though.
  9. Another great Dynamite, happy they kept the content pouring out instead of just twiddling their thumbs for 2 hours. The Elite's opening promo with the lights down and nobody ringside was money, and then bringing MJF, Spears et al out from there added both to the matches and their own characters. I hardly know Spears but him rocking out with the chicken wing while Sammy Guevara sang Judas might have been my favorite moment of the show. The women's match had a few botches as usual but Hikaru Shida still managed to come out of it looking good and strong. Penelope Ford was involved with most of them but that springboard reverse rana on Statlander was nice. I like Tazz on commentary and Schiavone doing interviews, even Brandi Rhodes impressed me filling in on ring announcing. They noted how much Jungle Boy is rapidly improving and I definitely agree. Then adding Jericho for the main event, perfection. Not going to spoil the debuts, but I'm glad the Exalted One is finally here to lead his stable of undercarders and the other guy is a timely addition to Blood & Guts. I would hope that's it for the time being though, roster is already pretty packed and they haven't even debuted Lance Archer beyond the video of him beating up some jabronis in a backyard while Jake hangs out in a lawn chair.
  10. <p>Yesterday’s show, to quote Jimmy King, ruled ass. Tag battle royal to start the show highlights the depth of the tag division. Was that CIMA I saw? Luchasaurus is way over and he can really work, at least in the multi-man matches. That super kick Guevara took was insane. Called Omega-Page vs. Bucks, that’ll be worth $15 of the PPV cost at least.</p><p> </p><p> Women’s division is rounding in to shape, at least not dragging the show down anymore. Nyla Rose cut a pretty good heel promo dancing around the reasons for her power advantage in a way that tweaks people against that. Britt Baker is getting better material and having JR and Schiavone to support almost makes up for her delivery, which is pretty hit and miss. Statlander and Swole could have some physical matches with Nyla.</p><p> </p><p> I’m expecting the Mox-Jericho feud to get the most gas on the go home show next week, it feels like there’s been less Jericho on the last couple shows and that shouldn’t happen.</p><p> </p><p> Tag title match f’in ruled, it looked like people in the arena bought the false finish after the Pentagon Driver as hard as I did. Page does the firey eyed ass whipper gimmick about as well as anyone I’ve seen since Stone Cold himself and Omega is just ridiculously good in the ring. Lucha Bros would be my pick for the next champs when the inevitable meltdown occurs with Omega/Page.</p><p> </p><p> Cody/MJF has definitely continued to be a great feud, the whipping segment showed again what a great heel MJF is and I loved him trying to convince Arn to slam the cage on Cody. And Cody got to show what a nut he is by blading and doing a 15 foot no look moonsault, but the crowd was into it.</p>
  11. I hadn't watched wrestling regularly in years, was flipping through channels a few months back, saw Chris Jericho and decided to give a non-WWE promotion a chance. I've been incredibly impressed with the quality of Dynamite on a week-to-week basis, both in terms of having good matches that actually get time and the character/feud development. Happy to say I'm a fan again, gonna go down the line and get specific with what's got me hooked. The Omega/Hangman team has been opening every show with great matches that tell a story in the ring, particularly Hangman feeling marginalized in the Elite and getting selfish to stand out while Omega tries to hold the group together. A few weeks back, it was a blind tag of Omega to get the pin himself, followed by blind tagging the Bucks out of the 4 way tag match to score the fall and the title shot. This week, he celebrates the title win by going into the crowd as soon as the Bucks hit the ring to congratulate them. He's also doing all the shit talking getting them into these matches, stealing Private Party's booze, spilling yet more booze on Christopher Daniels, and throwing that dig at the Bucks about winning the titles before they did in the Schiavone post match interview. Meanwhile, Omega is doing whatever he can to smooth things over, overlooking the fact that he's being hit with a stray Buckshot Lariat almost every week. They're also giving subtle little reasons for Page to be feeling like this, such as the Bucks choosing to tag Omega in instead of him during the 4 way and Schiavone cutting him off in the interview to ask Omega about PAC. I think we're headed for Omega/Page vs. the Young Bucks at Revolution, putting Kenny in a position where he has to choose his loyalties. Cody Rhodes/MJF is a really old school feud, heavy on mic work, and they couldn't have picked 2 better promo guys to carry it. I remember Cody from his early WWE days and he's come a long way. I originally wasn't impressed with MJF but have come to realize he's so great at playing a douchebag heel that I was just being a mark about it. As the biggest name in the company, I don't think they could be using Jericho any better. He's making stars left and right, giving Sammy Guevera the Inner Circle rub and something of a pre-platform for him to get more well known while he gets more established. The feud with Jurassic Express has elevated them while also being a logical choice on Jericho's side as someone he can bully around and dominate to stay strong. Moxley was the biggest surprise for me when I first started watching, as my impressions of him in WWE were that he was tremendously overrated. I've cooled on him a bit even as his push has continued and hope some Inner Circle chicanery keeps him from winning the title at Revolution. For his character to keep being over he needs to lean into the Stone Cold style hellraising a little more but I do think he's capable. It helps that he looks big in AEW, whereas in WWE he's basically a step above the minimum size you have to be to get a push. Butcher, Blade, & Bunny are the kind of mid-level gimmick tag team I miss. The women's division, as others have already said, is trash. Brandi Rhodes should get mic skills in the teens in any real world mods for TEW 2020. Riho doesn't impress me. Kris Statlander has the look but botches too often, she's a couple years away in my book. Britt Baker is boring. Emi Sakura is the best wrestler of the bunch but I don't see them putting the title on her. There's not many options out there and they'd take heavy criticism if they shut it down, so I expect it to continue to be the weak point of the show. At first sight, I thought I would probably detest Darby Allin. Happy to say I was very wrong about that, he puts his body on the line in a way that lives up to having skeleton face paint. That match with PAC was brutal but excellent. I've flipped over to NXT a couple times but nothing really stuck with me. Also watched the latest Raw because I was in a hotel, everything but the tag title match was the excrement that caused me to stop watching in the first place. So I guess I'm an AEW fanboy now.
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Comradebot" data-cite="Comradebot" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41928" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The problem is, there's really no way to sort wrestlers by "time of debut". And honestly, it's a goal I personally absolutely want to achieve before I make any sort of official release. Not only that, but releasing it now would probably hurt my motivation to truly "finish" the mod in the future. When I'm this close... eh, best not to chance it.<p> </p><p> I'll consider a "beta" release some time after all the workers have been given at least the most minor amount of love, though in truth there won't be too much else left to do at that point. A few other things absolutely still need to be cleaned up, but nothing major.</p><p> </p><p> Though I suppose I can release a "beta version" for everyone after that, and see if we can't find anything obviously broken. And I <em>suppose</em> I can use that time to focus more on some of the "fun" stuff I want to get into the mod. Various silly narratives and the like, of which I have for too many.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I know most of the original debut dates are just left at 18 years old. One of the things you could do for faster editing would be to move the starting date of the mod up (sheerly to change values) and then use your filters to capture data better. </p><p> </p><p> Also, I think I only really left about 20-30 of the future bigtimers close to their original stats, there was something with the TEW that it came out for that people couldn't improve beyond their opponent and over time that was reducing upper caps on stats. I do think that's since been tweaked.</p>
  13. And a note on F.A.G., that was a PeterHilton creation so I'm of the mindset that it would really be more of his call on changing anything. I kind of think the promotion needed to be a direct replication to be a worthwhile reference, but I do agree that's kind of a lot of bandwidth for a single reference and the promotion could work just fine with slight cosmetic changes.
  14. Hey, I'm a happy camper! I was just thinking of importing the mod up through the generations to mess around with it, maybe even tinker a bit. Now I can just be lazy and let Comradebot do that for me <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. But seriously, major dabs to you Comrade, you were always a big supporter of the mod and I'm pleased to leave it in your capable hands!
  15. - From player-controlled event 'GAMMA Gladiators XLVI' (from the save game 'GAMMA01') - Created 14 March 2011 >In the last of the preliminary matches, 'The Hit Man' Miyoko Toru will battle Renan Heleno in the GAMMA Light Heavyweight division. >We are underway! >Advancing, Toru counters a left jab by using a solid left. >Toru tries for a right body kick but Heleno moves out of range. >Toru throws a left jab but Heleno avoids it. >Heleno comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Toru. >Heleno gets caught with a right though, and he is momentarily wobbly! >Heleno avoids a tight combination. >Toru uses a right hook to the body, but misses. >Not letting up, Heleno quickly steps in closer to attack Toru. >A couple of wild haymakers are used to set up a takedown attempt from Heleno. >Heleno is stopped by a good sprawl, and is pulled down to the ground in a loose front facelock until he is on his knees. >We are now at the halfway point of the round. >Heleno prevents himself from being rolled out of turtle position. >Heleno doesn't let Toru roll him onto his back. >Heleno takes the opportunity to stand up. >Toru counters a left jab by using a clever combination that finishes with a nice right cross. >We're into the final minute of the round. >Heleno comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Toru. >Heleno can't get close enough to grapple, Toru keeps him away with strikes. >Miyoko Toru is looking really tired. >Heleno steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. >Round one is brought to an end as time runs out. >That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Toru. >There's the bell and round number two begins! >Toru counters a left jab by using a left. >A straight left fails to land and Toru is able to fire back with a nice left hand. >Toru counters a left jab by using a series of quick lefts. >A couple of wild haymakers are used to set up a takedown attempt from Heleno. >Heleno doesn't get the takedown, Toru was equal to it and pulls them into a clinch. >The grapple breaks up after a short struggle, and the two fighters step apart. >Heleno looks to be trying to close the distance between them. >Toru finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. >Heleno tries to wrestle Toru backward and up against the cage. >Toru ends up backed against the cage. >Miyoko Toru seems to be fighting against exhaustion. >We are now at the halfway point of the round. >Heleno looks for a trip takedown. >Toru stops the takedown attempt, then uses his wrestling to take control of the grapple and put Heleno against the cage. >Heleno gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. >Heleno waits for Toru to throw a knee strike, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Toru now has his back to the cage. >With the cage trapping Toru, Heleno looks to try and take him down. >Toru blocks the takedown attempt and turns Heleno around so that he has his back to the cage. >Toru takes a short step back and prepares to strike. >There's under a minute left in this round. >Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. >Heleno slips past a jab and scores with a jab. >Toru uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by. >From the pocket, Heleno shoots in for a double leg. >Heleno can't get past the sprawl of Toru, and finds himself pushed face-down to the ground. >Miyoko Toru looks totally gassed. >Time expires and we come to the end of round two. >I have to give that round to Toru, but only a 10-9. >His corner are trying to get him fired up, but Heleno just sits there staring at the floor. >We are back underway! >Toru avoids a quick jab and hits a series of quick lefts. >Advancing, Toru counters a left jab by using a hard right kick to the legs. >Those strikes to the legs are going to take their toll. >Heleno throws a couple of wild punches as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. >The takedown doesn't work, Toru sprawled to defend it and then works into a clinch position. >Renan Heleno doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. >With control of the clinch, Toru tries to complete a takedown. >Toru can't get the takedown, Heleno defended it well. >Heleno uses a whizzer to turn Toru slightly, creating enough space for him to break free of the grappling entirely. >Heleno steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. >Not letting Heleno settle, Toru moves in closer. >Toru counters a left jab with a series of quick lefts. >We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. >Toru narrowly misses Heleno with a right uppercut. >Not letting Toru settle at all, Heleno comes in closer. >Looking very tired, Heleno comes in throwing ragged haymakers, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. >Toru first stuffs the takedown attempt, then manages to wrestle Heleno the the floor! Heleno has to pull guard. >Toru throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. >Heleno attempts to lock on an omoplata. >The omoplata is applied, Toru has no choice but to tap out! >Renan Heleno takes the win by submission! >Official Result: Renan Heleno defeats 'The Hit Man' Miyoko Toru (Submission (Omoplata) in 4:32 of round 3). The match was rated as being Good. First time I've seen a mental collapse, and he goes on to win. Sweet Irony.
  16. Ok, this post and your explanation of why you hate Bud Adams (aside from his flipping off the Bills, which I count as a positive) clears the air. I saw the backlash against Modell and LeBron for screwing over Cleveland, so I know where you're coming from. Since the Run N' Shoot and Warren Moon's godlike passing abilities (both in RL and Tecmo Super Bowl) are what made me an Oilers/Titans fan in the first place I never really cared where they played... I did start to cheer all the other Houston teams in the process though, so people tend to think I'm from Texas.
  17. Wait, not only do you hate the Titans, you love the team that beat them in the Super Bowl? Well ok, but... *makes note to delete APWF and WBW from 1.1.*
  18. C.J. certainly needs to get paid. With no cap I would lock him up with a big signing bonus this year that would pay a base salary of 4-5 mil for 5-6 years. The max signing bonus is 40% of the total value I believe so 6 years, 50 mil would be the offer I'd like for him.
  19. I loved that part, there was something about cheerfully telling a d-bag that their problem won't be solved, too bad, that I loved. The angrier they got, the funnier it was.
  20. Beaten to the punch. I like the way you think GruntMark!
  21. So we'd be good at something? How many Olympic Medals did England win in the last Summer Games? I think Michael Phelps beat your whole country. And we won first dibs on naming sports in the War of 1812. Hence, 90 minute draw football became soccer.
  22. By that time we we doing it every week... They put us on a team with a kid we hated and his first grade brother so our team sucked, and he would try to give us motivational speeches and such. The week we got kicked out we were intentionally bowling gutter balls to piss him off.
  23. When I bowled in the jr. league, I averaged a 140. I got kicked out along with a couple of my friends for taking our weekly dues out of the envelope and leaving after the owner yelled at us for bowling like jackasses though. Ironically, though it was supposed to be a lifetime ban, that's where I bowled 2 weeks ago.
  24. I went a couple weeks ago for the first time in a while and bowled a 113, 128, and a 117. So in short... I suck.
  25. I like bowling too, I'm just saying it's free from ridicule because of the drinking aspect.
