  1. If they're going to continue ahead with that feud, absolutely, that finish made the most sense--provided the feud ends with Bryan making Miz tap. It CANNOT end with Miz being victorious. Not if they want Bryan to be halfway credible. He needs to prevail to establish himself, while Miz will be just fine either way.
  2. Spoilers for Raw if you aren't watching: It was pretty weird to hear Cole being a face announcer the entire show, only to be a total heel during the Bryan/Miz match. Glad to see Bryan win, even if I think it should've been via tapout when he got him in that crossface. But he made up for that by throwing Miz into Cole.
  3. Not to mention the shots he took at TNA when he was still with WWE.
  4. Someone wasn't around for Final Battle 2009...or Jerry Lynn's title reign...or Tyler Black's many failed title shots...or the screwy non-finish to the match between the MCMGs and the KOW just a few weeks ago. Yeah...ROH's fans aren't afraid to criticize the company when they don't like something. About the WWE Universe: I recently saw an article on WWE's website that referenced how the "WWE Universe" reacted to something that happened like 20 years ago. It bothered me more than it probably should have. Just felt really weird and out of place.
  5. That seems like an apples & oranges comparison to me. Both the WWF/E and the PPV system itself are completely different today as opposed to 1996. I don't mean that as a slight on Cena: I would agree that he's a bigger star than Michaels and/or Hart were at their peak, even if I personally would much rather watch them.
  6. Every time she does the Styles Clash, I'm afraid she's going to break her opponent's neck.
  7. Didn't know either of those things happened. I assume this was during the recent TV tapings?
  8. Probably Danielson, just for longevity. I would also say that Joe's title reign was the most important in ROH history. Joe really made that title mean something, and when he finally dropped it to Austin Aries, Aries was immediately minted as an ROH great himself. Punk is clearly the guy who went on from ROH to have the most success, and the "Summer of Punk" may have been the most interesting period in ROH history. As far as best within ROH, though, I'd place him no higher than fourth, behind Danielson, Joe and Nigel. EDIT: I think I'd put Aries ahead of Punk as well. So Punk in...5th, maybe?
  9. The ROH TV show has not been as good in the weeks following Edwards/Richards. I understand that that's a tough act to follow, but there hasn't been any match that really stood out over the last month, IMO.
  10. Completely agree with all of that. Curious as to what the people who didn't really like last week's confrontation thought about this one. Also, Jericho is awesome. EDIT: A Misawa reference? I love you, Striker.
  11. Ahh...not really familiar with that term, so I guess I misinterpreted.
  12. I thought Rock was pretty good. Maybe not a technician on par with an Angle or Benoit, but I always thought he had pretty solid skills, in addition to his obviously incredible charisma and ability to get the crowd involved. I feel much the same way about Cena, even if I despise his character.
  13. Hulk Hogan: arguably the greatest heel of all time? I strongly disagree. Hollywood Hogan and the nWo were hot for a year and a half to two years, sure, but I don't think he had the staying power/track record as a heel to deserve that kind of praise.
  14. I just clicked on the roster page on TNAWrestling.com...and Daniels is there. Have they STILL not taken him down, or have they quietly re-signed him? For the record, Sean Waltman, who I think is gone from the company, is still up. But some people who have left after Daniels, like Tara and the Love Sponge idiot, are gone.
  15. What are you trying to say here? Sounds to me like you're saying the IWC should be happy that TNA is trying to be unpredictable and edgy, even if it means completely offensive garbage like the Abyss/Chelsea angle. Who says you can't be unpredictable without becoming morally offensive? If I've misread, I apologize. But that's how it came off to me.
  16. How about some of the things Scott Steiner said in WCW? That company took a huge risk every time they handed him a live microphone.
  17. I'm not 100% positive, but I THINK he is straight edge in real life, even if he doesn't really play it up or refer to himself as such. And yeah, if Bryan's going to go heel, putting him in the SES could be really interesting. That's something I've been kinda thinking about for a bit now. They could play up Danielson's lifestyle, and maybe even allude to Punk and Bryan forming a friendship in their "indy" days if they so chose.
  18. I don't think I read the WWE.com interview you're talking about, so no clue there. I do agree that I see this as a heel turn in the making, though. I don't think his rant or his attack on Cole make him very sympathetic, and having Punk and Regal sit there and nod along with him is a pretty strong message to me. Jay Lethal's Flair impression was amusing. He really had Naitch's mannerisms and speech patterns down, and it was entertaining. But beyond that, I don't see anything special about it. Maybe I just had a hard time taking that "conflict" seriously since it centered around a WWE Hall of Fame ring. The Jericho/Hart promo mentioned was great while Jericho was talking, but I thought it went downhill pretty quickly once Bret was on the mic. I don't remember any HBK/Taker promos from this year being anything special. The video packages, sure, but the promos? Maybe I missed something when I was flipping between Raw and Impact. Punk's "Happy Birthday" and pretty much anything Anderson has done recently, I'm with you there; definitely a notch above Danielson's NXT promo, IMO.
  19. I agree, blatantly breaking kayfabe during the show isn't something I'm a fan of either. But, personally, I didn't feel like that's what happened in that promo. Maybe I need to go watch it again, but while watching the promo I felt like Danielson was saying the WWE in general (and Cole in particular) were going out of their way to humiliate him and keep him down because, technical wrestling ability aside, he didn't fit their traditional image. If he had said something like "And I had to go out and put over guys who suck", or something along those lines, I wouldn't have enjoyed the promo anywhere near as much. But I didn't feel like anything Danielson said crossed over into truly breaking kayfabe. Again, maybe I missed something, but that was my reaction. ...but really, considering this is a company that continuously had Hornswaggle beat up Chavo, and had the dude from the SNL movie blow up R-Truth with a pyro, this promo can't have been the hardest you've had to go to suspend your disbelief recently.
  20. Err....so, you like Danielson/Bryan, but you also think he's a boring, nerdy midget who has no business being in WWE?
