  1. Nothing wrong with disagreeing with the majority; I doubt your opinion will "kill" it for anyone. Even if you do think the promo was actually cut by Christopher Daniels. His delivery wasn't perfect, I agree. But the promo came across to me as genuine and believable, something I haven't felt all that often in recent WWE.
  2. Who'd have thought we'd be spending so much time praising a promo by Bryan Danielson, a guy that a lot of people wrote off as having little to no personality? Heck, I've thought he was pretty underrated in that area for a couple of years at least, but even I didn't think he could pull off something like that.
  3. I don't think Danielson could pull off a full-blown "loose cannon" ala Pillman, but I do think it would be interesting to see him continue to develop his character as someone who isn't the stereotypical WWE guy, but is so good that he'll make it in spite of that. And, whether he's a face or a heel going forward, he needs to continue to display the kind of intensity and passion he did during that segment with Cole.
  4. I can't believe anyone could argue that Brady is #1 right now. You can definitely make an argument for him having the best career among active QBs, but as far as the here and now is concerned, it's Manning & Brees, and everybody else.
  5. Taking "possession" of a woman against her will? The Abysster is the least likable "good guy" I have ever seen.
  6. The moment I read about the DQ finish, I assumed TNA had something to do with it. I didn't think ROH would book an ending like that for such a highly anticipated match willingly. I'm sure things will turn out OK for the Briscoes, too. Considering ROH's fanbase, I'm sure most have read that speculation by now and won't hold the finish against ROH (or the Briscoes, from a kayfabe POV.) The never-ending feud with Necro certainly doesn't help The Embassy, no. Personally, I'd like to see Joey Ryan split from the group and form a tag team with Rhett Titus--with a trashy female valet, preferably. Imagine the sleaze!
  7. If it's his usual ROH theme, I think it's an instrumental version of a song Rey Mysterio Jr. used in WCW.
  8. I think the current Embassy is dull and has run its course. It's just not the same without "DA CROWN JEWEL!" My biggest problem with Hero at the moment is that he just does way too many elbows.
  9. Yep, CM Punk. I always liked Punk more (though I like both guys a lot), but I figured if/when WWE signed him to a contract, they'd try and change his character to the point that he'd become a bore to watch. Also, he's always come across as a rather opinionated guy to me, and I was afraid he'd ruffle the wrong feathers backstage. With Colt, I figured that since he's such a genuinely funny, goofy guy, he'd fit right into a comedic babyface role. Not a main eventer or anything, but a guy who regularly shows up in the comedy sketches they love to do so much. Basically, Santino. I think the way I described it at the time to a friend of mine was that I thought Punk had the higher ceiling, and could be pretty big in the E if they just let him do his thing, but I didn't like the odds of that happening. Whereas Cabana, while he'd probably never be a headliner, had a greater chance of at least making it in the WWE for the purposes of comic relief.
  10. I think Hero would be a much better fit in WWE than Claudio. As much as I like Double C, he's not anywhere near as good a talker as Hero. Of course, WWE seems to be aiming to employ wrestlers from various foreign countries (which makes sense, I guess, since they're broadcast worldwide and all), and since they don't have any Swiss under contract to my knowledge, Claudio might be an appealing hire for them. One guy in ROH who really jumps out at me as a future WWE pickup is Kenny King. I think he'd fit right in. Of course, I also thought Colt Cabana had a better chance at making it in WWE than the other half of the Second City Saints, so what do I know?
  11. Even though I like him, I do see the logic behind releasing a guy like Doug Williams. But considering they JUST put the X title on him again, he doesn't seem like a leading candidate to be released at this point in time.
  12. I'd like to see Homicide and the Machine Guns go...so I can watch them in ROH. MCMG vs. Briscoes and/or KOW, or MCMG vs. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall? Easy choice for me. Was it me, or was the AJ/RVD match incredibly boring? I couldn't wait for it to end. I liked Williams/Kazarian and the opening 3-way tag match, and LOVED Anderson's promo. But the rest of the show was pretty blah in my opinion.
  13. He's only at 170 at current because he was sick and lost weight. I doubt he'll be at 170 for long. Not that he'll ever be known for his chiseled physique.
  14. I'm totally with you. I'm beyond sick of the Super Bowl only being played in warm weather cities. It's FOOTBALL. Snow and cold weather doesn't detract from the game; it ADDS to it.
  15. Pretty sure they announced it as Nash and Hall as the champions after the match. Guess they could do the Freebird routine, though. They probably would have to. And yes, Motor City rules.
  16. But then the "Bubba Army" would harass you via the Interwebs! ZOMG!
  17. "It's not about me, it's really not." *Cut to Hogan punching out Wolfe, Beer Money and AJ Styles.* Brilliant.
  18. I'd say it's more about fighting to earn a title shot on PPV. Did you really think they wouldn't give roster spots to most, if not all of them? I think it would make little sense to devote this much time to these guys, and only have one or two stick around on the main roster. The only guy who sticks out to me as not being ready is Otunga. He needs to spend some time in FCW after NXT ends, because he is nowhere near being ready from an in-ring standpoint. I could see most everyone else at least getting a look on Raw or Smackdown, though the only guy I really care about aside from Danielson is Wade Barrett.
  19. So this girl injures someone in her tryout match...and gets signed anyway? That doesn't make much sense to me, unless what happened to Daffney wasn't her fault.
  20. That would probably be my first genuine mark out moment since Benoit made HHH tap at WMXX (which I feel weird about now, given how things turned out for Benoit. But at the time, I loved watching the guy.)
