  1. I'll be more than a bit upset if they put the title on Black. Aries is just way too entertaining. Tyler's a good wrestler, but A-Double is the complete package.
  2. Right. Just like how some of the guys from WCW (Goldberg being one for certain) continued to receive money from Time Warner/AOL/whatever after WCW was sold off.
  3. From the Observer website: I really hope this is true. That guy is in serious need of a good pounding. (and I'm not saying that because of his Haiti comments; we don't need to get back into that again. The guy is just annoying in general.)
  4. Yeah, let's try to steer this back on topic... I haven't seen the PPV, but I have been thoroughly unimpressed with Flair in TNA so far. He just seems like he's completely disinterested in everything that's going on, and if that holds true, I have major concerns about his apparent involvement with AJ. While I'm at it: I know plenty have said it already, but Sean Morley beating Christopher Daniels is just an atrocious decision as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Personally, I find that far more arrogant/offensive/etc. than any of the things you bolded in your quote. But this isn't the topic for that, so I'll drop it and get myself back on topic. The spoilers for the next Impact sound terrible. If they want to be different and offer an alternative to WWE, they sure are going about it the wrong way.
  6. Yes, probably a bit of an overreaction. It just seemed like such a fall from grace, going from having a great PPV match with Angle to getting pinned by a mid-carder. The clean win over Joe has me more optimistic as far as Nigel's status goes.
  7. So last week, Desmond loses to Pope. This week, he beats Joe. Cleanly. Huh?
  8. If Christopher Daniels loses to Sean Morley at any point, I may tune out of TNA completely.
  9. I can't believe I just heard "Welcome to Nastyville" on my television in 2010.
  10. Yeah, The Young--err, Generation Me are a fun team to watch. They could be a nice addition to TNA's tag division if they're used correctly. That match with the Guns was a good start.
  11. Nope, my "ugh" was definitely not in response to the team. Just their new name, which I think sounds ten times worse. Could The Nasty Boys ever wrestle?
  12. Fun match, even if I hate the pointless re-branding of The Young Bucks. When they showed Hall & Waltman, I was afraid they would come down & beat all four of them down. I'm glad that didn't happen.
  13. Has anyone else seen the report of Orton being charged with assault--for allegedly spitting gum in a kid's face? Is that actually considered an assault by the U.S. legal system?
  14. Absolutely. There is simply no incentive for The Rock to work with TNA in any capacity.
  15. 15% for The Rock? Seriously? I would bet everything that I own that The Rock will not be on Genesis.
  16. I suppose it is, but it comes across as a pretty cowardly move to me, which obviously doesn't describe Undertaker's character most of the time.
  17. This is getting very repetitive; nothing new is really being said. So I'm going to attempt to change the subject. For those that watch Smackdown regularly: why would The Undertaker "attack" Rey Mysterio? Is there some storyline reason for that, or did it just come out of nowhere? It seems rather odd to have him screw over the likes of Rey without a valid reason.
  18. OK, now we're on the same page. You are absolutely correct; WWE is the most successful promotion in the history of the industry. My own complaints with their product aside, they continue to make money year after year after year, so they clearly know what they're doing. And, like you said, everything beyond that is totally subjective.
  19. I don't understand the whole popular=better argument. Popular=more successful, sure, but the quality of something is down to the taste of the individual. I don't see why wrestling should be looked at any differently in that respect than movies/music/TV/books etc. I can acknowledge that WWE is more successful than ROH; that's inarguable. But if I prefer to watch ROH, they're obviously better in my opinion.
  20. Wasn't it the time they teased a McMahon/Austin match on Raw (which wound up being a setup for a Foley heel turn) that ended Nitro's streak?
